Beach day with the Slashers
Female Reader -Bo- Gender-neutral -everyone else-
Bo- Fingering but no penetration. Dirty talk.
Angst and Fluff with Herbert and Dan (They pronouns used for Y/N) Fluff with Michael and Jason.
Michael Myers (1978 with the extra height of the 2018 one)
Tumblr media
> Wants to visit the beach during the day. He’ll even have his mask off. Instead of enjoying the beautiful view of the sun hitting the blue ocean, you spend your day staring at your handsome boyfriend.
> Michael is just there to scan for new victims. He kills people who litter, hates seeing wrappers and cigarette butts littered across nature.
> You egg him on to go swimming, it takes a lot of coaxing. “Please, Michael, just for a little bit.” He points to your belongings on the towel, “They’ll be fine, who’s gonna want to steal some sandwiches and some towels?” He shook his head. You got down on your knees and gave him sad puppy dog eyes. He grumbled then lifted you onto his shoulder, you squealed as you placed your hands on his firm back, rubbing his taut muscles.
> When he got up to his pecs in the water he threw you in. You came up for air, “Mikey, what the hell!?”
> “What? You wanted in the water.” He gave a small smile.
> He made you swim in front of the beach while he just stood in the water and watched. He knew you’d be fine, it was your belongings he was worried for. You caught his eyes, his already dark blue eyes were now matching the deepest parts of the ocean. He barreled through the water, pushing you aside. You watched him as he made his way up onto the beach.
> Some fuck had the bright idea to do some stealing. He just happens to choose the one man’s belongings you don’t fuck with.
> Before that guy had time to react to a six-foot-three man, hauling ass like he is a tiger chasing after a deer, Michael clocked him so hard in the face the man immediately went down.
> People stood around Michael, some congratulating him for knocking out a thief, others gawked “My God he swung that punch so hard.” “Is the thief even breathing?” Michael stood over your belongings, and turned back towards you, just making your way out of the ocean. Michael was mad, but not as mad at what he saw next.
> Some random beach Chad made his way over to you, “Yo, that was wild huh?” You gave a quick, “Ya.” not caring to speak to him, just wanted to get back to your boyfriend. “He just knocked that guy out in one punch.” You made your way up the beach, he grabbed at you “Hey, be careful, probably want to stay aw-”
>The poor sap never stood a chance, Michael swung his fist so hard Chad went flying back into the water.
> “I’ve had enough, we're leaving.”
> You were gonna protest, but when you scanned the crowd, you realized that yeah, we’re gonna go home.
> Walking back home, Michael held your hand, tightly. “Mikey?” He grunts, “You don’t like people touching your belongings, huh?” You turned to look up at him and he caught you in a kiss. He snuck his tongue in, dominating yours, you moaned and he pulled away. You whined and he smiled.
> “what’s mine is mine.”
Tumblr media
Jason Voorhees
> He’s the beach’s lifeguard, so if you wanna spend a beach day with Jason, you’ll have to do it after hours. You would, but Jason takes the evening shifts too.
> Everybody loved Jason. Kids loved him, he was always so nice to them after all. He gave them swimming lessons. He was always so patient with them, never getting mad if a kid was struggling to grasp the basics.
> Men and Women loved Jason. His stoic demeanor, his calming presence...his bulging muscles. Jason was oblivious to all kinds of flirting. “Your hands are like, so big!” said a bubbly tanned beach bunny. Jason just grunts. A muscle-bound beach bro asked, “Bet you lift a lot eh, what’s your macros?” Jason just looked at his large bicep, he shrugged.
> When you visit him at work he gives you small waves then his eyes go right back to the water, not wanting to miss anything. Dedicated <3
> He doesn’t take a proper lunch break, he’ll eat his food while watching the beach, scarfing down the food as fast as possible.
> After a long day, you’ll finally have Jason all to yourself.
> Night swimming!
> You and Jason have splash fights, that he often wins, his large palms create huge splashes that knock you back into the water.
> Keeps you incredibly close in the water, will bug you to wear a life jacket if you ever swam without him. He’s very protective.
> Holds you close to him the further out you go. He won’t let you go, so it’s the perfect time to smother him in kisses.
> Jason hums into your kisses, his large hands running up and down your back, the water and his hands feel perfect on your skin.
> Jason couldn’t be happier that you're together.

Herbert West + Dan Cain - Poly relationship or what Derrick Barry calls a ‘throuple’
> “Please Herbert, for me?” He grimaced at you. Don’t you know how busy he is? Perfect specimens don’t just end up dead you know? Someones gotta end a life! You sighed and brought out the big gun. “Well, Dan said-” The moment Dan left your lips, Herbert was pushing you and him out the door.
> You and Dan had a blast, building castles, collecting seashells, playing some beach volleyball with another friendly couple.
> Herbert sulked under the beach umbrella, nose in a large medical textbook.
> “If you come with us, Herbert, we’ll get you a grape freezie!” Dan coaxed but it did not affect Herbert. Herbert waved you both off as if you were two mosquitoes bugging him.
> You and Dan walked hand in hand, swinging them in between yourself on your way to the little concession stand. “You sure it was for the best we brought him, Dan?” Dan looked at you and frowned, your eyes were a little glossy. “He only came because you were coming.” You felt the tears rolling down your cheek.
> “fuck, Herbert, you little monster.” Dan cursed to under his breath. Dan knew Herbert gravitated more towards him. It’s not that Herbert didn’t like you, just Dan was there first. Dan never told you but he often caught Herbert staring at you, a softness in his eyes that Dan knew meant one thing…
> “I’m sorry…” You mumbled, quickly rubbing the back of your hand over your eyes. Dan shushed you and brought you in for a hug, kissing the top of your head.
> “Don’t be, Herbert should be. Some Vitamin D is much needed for his pale little body. I’ll talk to him, okay? In the meantime, focus on me!”
> Dan and you continued with the most fun day ever. You ate your freezies, swapping flavors halfway through. A little boy asked Dan to help with flying his kite, Dan’s height coming in handy.
> Herbert stewed in his spot under the umbrella, watching you and Dan have fun, “Hmph, wasting time.” He kept peeking from his book, eyes on you, how you smiled when you looked into Dan’s eyes, how you leaned in closer, head resting on his shoulder. How Dan wrapped his arm around your waist, lips on your ear whispering...God knows what, Herbert can only imagine.
> “They could just yank me away from this, make me spend time with them...not that I want to. But if they dragged me away from my book then I’d have no choice.”
> When it got late, You and Dan packed away everything into the bags, Herbert supervised. How helpful/s
> Dan had you drop a few of the smaller items at the car on your own, he made Herbert help with some of the heavier items. As your figure became smaller and smaller in the distance, Dan turned to Herbert, “You know, they wer-”
> “I can’t believe you two, frolicking about so openly.” Herbert had cut Dan off. Herbert fumbled with the bags while trying to push up his glasses. Dan fumed.
> “You mean act like a couple, which we are, which you're a part of. Or are you only a couple with me?”
> Herbert snapped “excuse me, you and Y/N are most certainly a couple, which I have no part of.”
> Dan scoffed and shook his head “They want to be with you too, Herbert, They do like you, They feel upset with how you treat them. Now I know deep down you adore them, you best start showing it.”
> Herbert stopped, he looked at Dan and then at you in the distance starting the car.
> Later that night, Herbert had asked if you’d help in the basement. As tired as you were, you went to help. Herbert scarcely looked at you, but he found ways to touch you. Hands ghosting over yours as you handed him some flasks. Grabbing your hips softly to move you out of the way.
> “Everything good, Herbert?” You asked. His eyes looked everywhere but you. He stepped a little closer to you, His face only a foot away.
> He smashed his lips onto yours and wrapped you up in his arms. His hands rubbing along your sides, pulling you in so tight you were surprised he was strong enough to bring pain that way.
> “Don’t cry over me. Okay?” Your face felt hot, you nodded. “You are mine too, not just Dan’s, okay?” You nodded again. “Good. Now kiss me.”
> The kiss started tender but that just wasn’t gonna cut it with all the tension between you two.
Tumblr media
Bo Sinclair /Female reader/
> Lookin’ at all the pretty girls go by.
> Catches you catching him staring, flashes his baby blues at you, “C’mon darling, you know you're still the apple of mah eye.”
> Gets pissed when other guys check you out. Strolls on over and wraps an arm around you, sneering at the Chads and Kyles.
> “You just had to wear that sexy little number, didn’t ya?” He snarled in your face. You grabbed your tits in the cute red bikini and gave them a Lil shake.
> Bo yanked you away from the beach, you protested, hitting his large forearm, “Bo, what the hell? Oh come on, you act like a leech an-” He cut you off, his lips slammed onto yours, the kiss was teeth and a little tongue action.
> Bo had yanked you away to some run-down looking bathrooms, the paint was so old it looked like the original coat from the 1960s
> “Now, Darlin, looks like you’ve just been wanting to rial me up now, huh? Wanting those sons of bitches to fuck you?” He leaned in close to your ear, his heavy breathing making you shake with anticipation. He suckled on it, causing you to buckle at the knees.
> “Bo, no I didn’t wan-want ah, the- them to” You were panting as he made small circles on your clit over your bikini bottoms. His fingers were calloused but he could be surprisingly gentle.
> “Now, yah best be quiet so no one hears ya, understood, Doll?” You whimpered and Bo flashed you his pearly whites. “That’s a good girl.”
> You should make him jealous more often.

Gravity Falls Beyond The Woods Chapter Nine
Dipper and Wendy leave Tyrone and Rose at their grandfather for the night, and Rose takes it as an opportunity to find a family mystery.
Rated T for suggestive humor.
<- prev                                                next->
“I’m so sorry Dad. I have no idea what came over Rose.” Wendy, Dipper, and her Dad were bringing the broken pieces of the rocking chair into Wendy’s old bedroom, which Manly Dan had turned into a storage room.
“It’s no problem,” Manly Dan said with a sigh. “I can fix it later.”
“Dad, you’re gonna hurt yourself again.”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah,” he muttered as he walked out.
Wendy surveyed the room. “Why does Dad have to keep so much crap?” She lifted a random box onto her bed. “What’s even in here?” She opened the box, digging through it. “Oh my god, it’s my old high school shit. Look Dipper, remember when we were lifeguards?”
She held up an old picture of her and Dipper in their lifeguard uniforms from Dipper’s first summer at Gravity Falls. Dipper laughed. “That lasted what, a week?”
Wendy chuckled. “Yeah, at least you got fired for like, saving a merman. I got caught stealing snacks. Dude, check it out! It’s my old swimsuit.” Sure enough, she pulled her red lifeguard swimsuit out of the box. “Wanna see if it still fits?”
Dipper booked it down the hall. “Marcus! Marcus!” He screamed.
He found Marcus standing in a hallway. “Wha?”
“Marcus, it still fits! The swimsuit still fits! Aw well, it doesn’t fit, but it doesn’t fit in all the right places!”
“Dipper, what the hell are you yelling about?”
“Me and Wendy need the hotel room to ourselves tonight. Can you and Dan watch the kids?”
“Actually we have lot to plan, so we wouldn’t really have the time to-”
Dipper patted his shoulder. “Thanks.” He dashed off.
“Dipper wait! Dipper! I said no! What are you two gonna be doing alone in a hotel room with a swimsuit?!”
But it was too late. “Dipper, hurry,” cried Wendy from their car. Dipper tossed the kids duffle bags at them.
“Be good for Grandpa Dan and Uncle Marcus. We’ll see you in the morning.” Dipper got in the car and drove off.
Rose and Tyrone helped their grandfather get Aunt Gwen’s old room situated.
"Thanks for letting us stay here tonight.”
Grandpa Dan grunted. “No problem.”
If their Uncle Marcus’ swearing was anything to go by, it was not ‘no problem’ but Rose didn’t want to say anything. Sitting on the bed, she noticed a photo of her grandpa young with a young woman.
“Grandpa, who was this?”
“Ah, that’s… your grandma.” He took the picture, his face down.
“Mom never talks about her.”
Dan sighed. “Not a lot to talk about. Went to bed one night and the next she was just gone. No note. No nothing.”
“She didn’t leave any sign where she went or why she left?”
He shook his head. “No.”
“So no one knows actually what even happened to her,” Rose whispered to herself.  Dan put the picture back and walked out. Rose was left in thought.
Night came, and the sky darkened. Rose loved the night sky in Gravity Falls. She looked out her window; the sky always lit up with so many stars. She could even see the big dipper. It was like her father was looking out for her. The sky was so beautiful. She couldn’t imagine why her parents would move away from this.
She turned to Ty. He was trying to get settled in his bed when Rose spoke up.
“Ty, Mom and Dad left us here at grandpa’s! Do you know what that means?”
Ty looked uncomfortable. “That they’re doing it?”
“What? Ewww, no.” Rose thought for a moment. “I mean of course they’re doing it, gross. But I mean that we’re free to investigate our first Gravity Falls mystery!”
“What mystery?”
Rose picked up the picture and showed Ty. “Grandma! She went missing! Just like Great-Great Uncle Ford! This is our chance to look for clues!”
Ty paused for a moment. "Rose, do you remember when we googled Mom’s name and some of the results were blocked? And you thought that meant she was a secret agent? But we looked her up on the computer from a friend’s house, it turned out it was just her old onlyfans."
Rose blushed at the embarrassing memory. "Yes, not the best way to have learned about the birds and the bees I admit. But this time it's different! Come on, I think everyone else is asleep. I think I remember Mom complaining about Grandpa keeping all of Grandma’s stuff in the attic.”
Ty sighed. “Look, I’m coming along only to make sure you don’t break any more of grandpa’s stuff.”
“Hardy har har. Now quiet.”
The twins crept through the house and made their way to the attic. After digging through several boxes, Rose found what she was looking for. Her grandma’s stuff. She eagerly dug through pictures of her grandma, happily posing with her family.  Some old clothes. “Arggg, there’s nothing here!”
“Well what did you expect?”
She picked up something wrapped in newspaper. It was some antique jewelry. It was a silver bracelet with a deep purple amethyst. “I dunno. Like a code or a journal or something…Ow!” Rose cut her finger on it. Once her blood touched the bracelet, the jewel glowed. It opened and closed on her right wrist; burning itself into her skin. She screamed.

Walls Start Falling
“(Y/N), that was insane,” Monica says as you have your lunch break. “Billy never did that. He never cared enough.”
You're still a mess, a confusing, flustered mess. But you made up your mind. Yesterday's events were madness. But it was just Billy being nice, you concluded. Another reason for you to be thankful and to give friendship a chance. Nothing else. “Yeah, it was nice of him to do that.” You try to keep it cool, your voice steady.
“Weren't you even a little bit... Excited about that?” She lowers her voice, even though there's nobody else around.
“Well...” Lying is not your thing, so you just have to tune it down a bit. “I was surprised. Perplexed and... I don't know. It felt good to have someone stand up for me.” You remember how cute it was when Christopher defended Monica, and see it happening to you a while after did send chills down your spine. But there's no reason for you to believe it was anything else. Billy might think he likes you, but he doesn't know you enough yet. That reminds you of another thing you have to tell Mon. “He... Billy told me something weird yesterday.” Mumbling, you drum your fingers on the table.
“What?”
“That he... That he likes me.” It only takes four words to make Monica stand up abruptly as if bit by a snake.
“Why in the hell didn't you tell me that the moment you set foot in this pool?”
You can't help but giggle. “Because it's not a big deal. You can't just decide you like someone you don't even know.” Shrugging your shoulders, you play with your food.
“Look. Something happened to Billy in senior year.” She starts. “He was in this awful car accident and if it wasn't for his sister and her friends, he'd be dead. After that he... Changed. Not completely, but he stopped treating his sister like shit.” It makes you curious. You haven't seen any scars on Billy, and nobody told you about any kind of accident. Maybe you could ask him about it sometime.
“And what does it has to do with anything?”
“It means that he changed then so he can change now.” It has some physiological background she's not explaining. “Just... You can be a normal girl around me, ok? We're friends, we're supposed to tell each other this kind of things.”
It's not that you don't want to open up, you just don't want to think about Billy all the time. But you guess it's ok. You feel like you can trust Monica, even about things you're a little scared about. “I know. But tell you what exactly?” You ask, taking a sip from your lemonade.
Her lips break into a smile. “Like the fact that you find Billy hot.” You almost choke, clearing your throat as you put the glass down. “You said that yourself. Yesterday when you shoved into David's face that he's envious of Billy because he's way hotter.”
“Billy is... Cute.” That's a good word, you decide. It's kind, it's not a lie, and it sounds casual.
“Have you ever seen him shirtless?”
“Yes. We're both lifeguards on Hawkins Community Pool and it's Summer, so yes.” Mon rolls her eyes at you sarcastic tone, but you just smile at her.
“Ok. But have you stopped to actually look?”
“Monica, I won't stare at the guy.”
“Why not? He stares at you.”
“It's different.” You snap.
“How so?”
You don't know how to answer. You don't even know exactly what's going on with you, or with Billy, or with this whole town. It doesn't matter how hard you think, you can't come up with a satisfactory answer, one that will be enough for your brain to stop forming questions. Monica is restless, and sometimes you catch yourself wishing she won't call. And she doesn't even know that Billy kissed you in the cheek. If you tell her that, you'll never hear the end of it. “I don't–” The door is open suddenly and it makes you shut up immediately. And the person who comes in makes you nervously move in your chair, sitting up straight.
“Were you talking about me?” Billy asks with a smirk.
“No.” You burst out, ready to stand up and head back to your chair. But Monica moves first, giving you such a hard stare that it makes you sit back down.
“Gotta go.” She says, storming out of the cafeteria.
Billy sits where Monica was, looking at you, as usual. “You were talking about me, weren't you?”
“No,” you repeat, cursing yourself for lying. “My lunch break will be over in-” you take a quick look at the clock above the fridge. “-three minutes. So I gotta go too.”
“Tomorrow is our day off. What are you up to?” He says when you reach the door.
You do have somewhere to be, thank God. “Mon invited me for a trail in the woods. With her crew...” You lock eyes with him again, and somehow, even though the distance, you feel the weight. It's not a bad kind of weight... It's different. It's gentle. “Wanna come?” It comes out faster than you can process it, so you look down, not sure if you want him to say yes or no.
“Yeah.”
You know he's smiling, and it has an effect on you. “We'll meet up at Benny's at nine. Don't be late or we'll leave without you.”
“I'll be there.” You listen as you walk away, thankful for the forty-five minutes you'll have on your chair without Billy being around.
•••
The sun is casting a beautiful golden light. It will be another hot day, and the fact that you'll be walking all morning isn't going to help. So you picked a light blue shirt with thin straps, short jeans, and comfortable white sneakers. You're leaning against Monica's car, parked in front of Benny's Burgers, doing a side french braid on your hair as you wait for the guys to get here. There's a fresh, morning wind blowing, and you breathe in the soft smell of coffee coming from Benny's. You didn't tell anyone about inviting Billy, so, if he doesn't show up, you won't have anyone talking about it.
Minutes later, the rest of Monica's crew gets here, five minutes before nine. You feel a little relieved that Billy won't come, actually. You've been trying to understand why the guy is making you so nervous when you're set to pursue nothing but a good friendship. Being confused is tiring. “Well, let's go,” Jason exclaims, and immediately, everyone starts getting in the cars. You're moving to sit on the passenger seat of Monica's car when Christopher calls shotgun. Great.
You're about to get into the back seat when you hear a car approaching, dangerously fast judging by the loud noise, and then it stops. You stand up straight, feeling your stomach burning when you see it's Billy's Camaro. “What the hell,” Mon mutters, giving you a glance.
Ignore her, you tell yourself. “Did you invite him?” Jason asks. “Or is he just crashing the party again?”
“I invited him. Hope it's not a problem.” Jason shakes his head no before getting into the car. But not before giving you a smirk. Well, you invited him, so you have to go and say hi. With your stupid heart beating faster, you walk over his car, offering a small smile when he steps out, standing by the door. “Hey. You're almost late.”
“Almost. Get in.”
“I'm going in Mon's car.” You gesture at where the two cars are parked. You get the feeling that you'll just end up in the same talk as last time, so you give up. “Just because I'm literally your only friend here.” Rolling your eyes, you gesture for the guys to go as you walk around the car to get to the passenger seat.
Billy follows the party until they stop randomly by the road. Everyone starts moving, getting their backpacks to get into the woods. You get yours from Monica's car, putting in on your back.
“Hey,” Billy calls, gesturing for you to get over his car with his index finger.
“What?”
He doesn't say anything as he takes the water bottle and snacks from your bag, putting in on his backpack. You watch, arms crossed, wondering why in the hell he's doing it without even asking if he could. Once your stuff is packed with his, he throws your empty bag on the passenger seat.
“Give me that,” you demand, reaching out your hand. “I'll carry through half of the way and you carry on the other half.” You raise an eyebrow at his smug smile as he hands you the pack. The moment he releases it, the weight pulls your arm down, and you have to push it back up before it hits the ground. “Damn, what do you have in here?” Suddenly you don't wanna carry this thing anymore. You should've just played along.
“Don't worry, princess, I can carry it.”
Shit. That name again.
“Fine.” You give him the bag, moving closer to the others.
“For the sake of our health, we're not going too far today,” Christopher announces, leading the way.
He keeps saying things, but you're not listening. You have never been in the woods, and you're too busy looking around, taking it in. Diane was lucky to have grown up in such a place, so beautifully calm, close to nature, being able to just run a few miles and be among the trees. You easily fall back, walking slightly slower than the party, mesmerized.
“It looks like you're enjoying it,” Billy says, and you notice he's purposely keeping your pace. But what else would he do? You're the only one he talks to in this group.
“It's beautiful. Living so close to the woods... It's just amazing. I can't believe I actually live here.” You're smiling like an idiot now, your eyes moving from the trees up to the blue sky. “What about you? Do you like living here?”
“Not in the beginning, but I got used to it, I guess.”
“I'm from New York, so you get the difference.” Shrugging your shoulders, you see something through the corner of your eye. It's small, and it jumps from a tree to the ground, running away. “A squirrel!” You exclaim, gesturing at a tree on our left. “I saw a squirrel.” Giving one last look at the group, you start moving to where you saw it going to.
“Wait up,” Billy calls since you're trying to walk as fast as you can without tripping on any branches.
You scan the woods, looking for any sign of the small animal, but you don't find anything. There's a slight slope on the way, so you use a fallen tree as a support as you move through it. But a rock moves under your foot, making you slip and fall on your butt. A low whine escapes your mouth when you feel a sting on your calf as you slide down the rest of the slope.
“Hey.” Billy is suddenly before you, you don't even know how he got here so fast. He pulls you up, holding your arms. You're laughing though, and the confused expression on his face doesn't help much. “You ok?”
“Yeah, I'm alright.” You look up, noticing how close Billy is. His blue eyes are like the ocean, beautiful, calming, and peaceful. Not the kind of eyes you'd expect from someone with the reputation he has. Clearing your throat, you step back, dusting off your clothes. “The squirrel won this round, I guess.” You can feel his stare as you look down.
“There's a cut on your calf.” He gets on one knee, taking your left leg by the ankle.
“What are you doing?” You mutter when you almost fall for the sudden loss of balance. You use Billy's shoulder to keep yourself steady. You feel his thumb on your skin, watching as he carefully removes the blood from the wound to take a better look.
“It's just a small cut. You'll survive.” He says as he stands up, those blue, piercing eyes on you again.
That was... Weird. To say the least. You just don't get why it made you so nervous. You really need some time away from Billy to think and think very carefully, to get things figured out. “We should get going or we'll get left behind.”
“As you wish.” He gestures for you to move, and that's what you do. But when you're about to climb up the slope, Billy comes to stay near you, a hand on your side when you use the fallen tree to pull yourself up. You just decided you don't like him touching you. If that's what makes you nervous, you have to avoid it.
But how are you supposed to be friends with someone you can't touch? Friends hug all the time... Damn it, why does it have to be so confusing? You blame Billy for this, even though this is not really his fault. Or is it?
“Hey. Monica told me something about a car accident. In senior year.” You decide to ask, and hopefully get a nice conversation that will keep you from getting nervous.
“Yeah. I was going on a date when... I hit a deer and crashed the car.” By how dark his voice gets, you can tell those aren't pleasant memories.
“Was it bad?” You move to walk closer to him as if it would offer any kind of comfort.
“Very.” He confirms. “If it wasn't for my dipshit sister and her stupid friends I'd be dead.” Despite the mean names, he flashes a small, quick smile. “Things changed from that day on. I couldn't hate her anymore.”
“And why did you hate her before?”
“Everyone says I'm an asshole but I was an even worse asshole before. But that day, it just... Clicked. After years of having me treating her like trash, she still went through a lot of trouble to save my life.” He lowers his voice, barely a whisper now. “And I'm not sure I was worth saving back then.”
It breaks your heart a little, to see how some of his walls just fell to the ground. You wonder if he told this to all the girls he has been with. “And when are you going to introduce me to your sister?” You try lighting up the mood a little, elbowing him.
“Are you inviting yourself to my place?” His smirk is back, but it doesn't bother you. You're actually happy the heaviness in his voice faded away.
“No.”
“You already have a place to be on your next day off.” He's clearly not asking.
“I'm not going to your place, Billy.” Despite being glad the atmosphere changed, you still have to set up some boundaries.
“I'll make Max stay home. I'll even let her invite the kiddos.”
Running a hand through your hair, you start playing with the tip of the braid. “Only if you order pizza.” You give him a quick look, admiring his smile. “But I'm paying this time.”
“No way.”
“Then I'm not going.”
“You're very stubborn.”
“That I am.” Smirking at him, you move to walk backwards, right before him. “I'll stop by your place to meet your savior sister and her savior friends and I'll pay for the pizza. Deal?”
“You should really watch where you're going.” The moment he's done speaking, your back hits a tree. Billy comes closer, standing there, way too close for your taste, looking down at you. It reminds you of when he kissed your cheek, the sudden proximity that made your stomach burn before the feeling his lips on your skin. “Deal.” He whispers, moving away.
Closing your eyes for a couple of seconds, you take the deepest breath you can, thankful that he moved away. He's doing that on purpose, you're so damn sure. Rolling your eyes, you set in motion, now listening to the low chattering of the group.
“Billy. Let me get some water.” You quicken your pace until you reach him, searching through his backpack until you find your bottle. It's still cold, thankfully. “Want some?” You watch as he shakes his head no before you drink. You take a few sips, closing your eyes at the good sensation of the fresh water in such a heat. Suddenly you feel the bottle being pushed up, and the water spills all over your mouth and nose, rolling down your chest. Opening your eyes abruptly, the first thing you see it's Billy's amused smile.
“You're such a-” You move forward, holding the bottle tightly as you throw some water on him. “-idiot!”
He bursts into a laugh as the fight begins. You're struggling to throw what's left of the water on his face as he tries to hold your arms. “You gave me no choice.” He mumbles under his heavy breath.
“Shut up,” you yell, your voice altered by the laughs. You're trying to set free from his grip, but he's stronger. You use your body weight to try and make him move backward, anything that could give you a chance. “Jerk!” As you speak he somehow manages to take the bottle from your hand, throwing the water on you. But you think fast, moving your body closer to his as you push his arm, so the water ends up falling on both of you.
“Hey, kids!” Jason shouts, and your head immediately turns at the source of his voice. You're both frozen now, as you notice the whole group stopped, looking at you. “Let's go!”
Clearing your throat, you struggle not to let your mind process the closeness. How you pushed yourself onto Billy, collapsing on his chest. “Let's go,” you tell him, stepping away. “Jerk,” you repeat, failing to hold back the smile.

hq boys and their part time jobs.
yet another unseries headcanon post made by yours truly! unlike my last one which you can find here, i won’t be involving every single major hq character so that’s just a heads up!! i can’t always envision stuff fully with every single person...
kageyama tobio: this boy thought that applying to work part-time at a sports shop would be fitting ‘cause of his love for volleyball, completely unaware that this would involve way too much social interaction and tolerance???? like he thought he’d just have to look like someone who does sports and occasionally restock yoga mats but these loud ass kids are coming up to him asking for this that and the other for sports he’s never heard of. suddenly he regrets the entire thing. plus, he has no idea how to use the cash register and it’s his worse nightmare to ring up items without wanting to stomp a hole into it to get the customer’s change.
hinata shoyo: shoyo went straight for the pet shelter because he’s in love with playing with the little puppies. this boy will full on roll around with them, stuff them under his shirt so their heads poke out and just.. intergrate and become one of them... the doggies love him so much n always clamber to sit on his lap because hinata treats them with so much love and kindness!! customers looking for pets often joke about taking him home bc he’s just as excitable and friendly as the actual dogs. he’s also really good at convincing people on the fence to get a pet and explaining their individual personalities because he knows them so well :(
nishinoya yuu: he said: supermarket assistant so he could ride around on the carts, intimidates literally every customer with his ungodly enthusiasm but is determined to help EVERYONE, he’ll run around the store taking people where they need to go but only if he actually remembers where they’re situated. otherwise this boy is like “yeah they’re just... that way.” and bolts in the other direction. gets along with all his colleagues and tells them all about his tournaments with karasuno. he’s not the star employee but it wouldn’t be the same w out him.. often asks the manager if he can taste test the market’s pastry section to which he is rejected every single time.
tanaka ryuu: he’s convinced working in his local gym was him in his element, he wears that tag thing like a badge of honour and just walks around showing people he works there instead of actually doing his job??? he’s also overly enthusiastic and will sometimes cheer on the people working out as if he’s some kind of zealous personal trainer and everybody is like “literally how old is this guy??” he’s surprisingly awesome at reception duty because he’s always chatting to regulars about how they’re doing... the practical side like schedules and paperwork he leaves for someone else, everyone just puts up with him bc he’s a mood setter.
sugawara koushi: don’t get me started on this boy as a teacher’s assistant, like he helps little kids out with their work, tidies up the class during their break times and reads them stories?? he’s THAT senior boy who’s the biggest sweetheart and seeing him handle kids so well is like ... does he want some of his own ?? i’d like to offer my expertise he’s always got a smile on his face, gets along with all the staff much older than him, he’s like this perfect boy they all dote on and he gets super flustered saying he just really likes helping out the children and making them smile. often brings them little snacks too and they all call him big brother BYE.
tsukkishima kei: he does some low-key shit that’s kinda wholesome like working with the eldery or tutoring kids but prefers for literally nobody to know about it because anything he does outside of school is his business. he does it because it’s good pay, there’s not much else to it. if anybody found out he’d be super irritated tbh it’s just an invasion of privacy to him but eventually wouldn’t care because every kid is getting part-time jobs these days.
oikawa tooru: bye he’s THAT guy who got his job at a retail store because he’s pretty. like he has no real interest in clothes or anything but he takes the job as a place to validate himself when girls come up to him purposefully to flirt. he’s winking and laughing with them and also NOT actually doing his job but he brings in customers so at least he’s somewhat useful. doesn’t know how to fold clothes or hang stuff on hangers properly for shit and everyone lowkey wants to kick his ass but he’s actually very friendly and outgoing even if he has no clue what he’s doing. keeps asking if bra sizes come in small, medium and large and everyone just tells him to shut up.
iwaizumi hajime: when picking a job he was like “well what am i good at?” and went from there. he ended up as the local pool’s weekend lifeguard because he had the qualifications and time. again, everyone his age just tries to hit on him and he’s annoyed because it distracts him from the actual purpose of his job. he takes it seriously and impresses his colleagues with his swimming talent and knowledge on first aid. iwaizumi lowkey scares the little kids and they’re kind of afraid to ask him for help so he’s been working on looking a little more friendly.
kuroo tetsurou: kuroo as a tennis instructor assistant or just something sporty other than volleyball because he’s a multi-talented king?? like he’s not a professional by any means but he helps out the youth club and gets along with kids a few years younger than him. fills in for refs at tournaments, makes sure equipment is safe to use and is SUPER good at cheering club goers up when they lose or fail or can’t seem to do it correctly. he often refers to his experiences as nekoma’s captain to relate to them and they really admire his resilience and ask him to tell them more stories!!
kenma kozume: had to be dragged out to do a part-time job. was absolutely against the thought of it until hinata mentioned a friend of his who’d moved to the prefecture near kenma got a job at this new game shop. he was like fine and applied. he just kinda sat and people asked him questions about the games but he refused to do any further socialisation or actual grunt work like shelving, he quit pretty soon after, he just wanted the money to buy a game he ended up purchasing on his way out lmaoo
bokuto koutarou: he was dead set on having a volleyball related job, fukurodani have a club for junior players from all over the city to come and practice together. he was like?!? “and nobody told me??” he’s perfect for it as the captain and ends up as a secondary coach. he shows off A LOT and like kuroo, encourages the kids when they’re down. except kuroo is a more sit down, hand on shoulder, casual talk kind of guy. bokuto gets ridiculously sentimental and tells them dramatically about his lowest memories as captain when fukurodani lost and the kids are genuinely as emotional because of he way he tells it??? idk but they love him and he’s a ball of passion that keeps them going.
akaashi keiji: we are talking pretty waiter at a local gormet restaurant that gets tipped SO MUCH for his true professionalism. knows how to handle every situation with ease and is super calm, doesn’t care at all if someone from his school is there. he’s really just chasing that bag and he’s doing it well. bokuto often picks him up after his shifts so they can do stuff together but akaashi requests it be something calming since he’s tired after work... bokuto is like,, “so no to rock-climbing? alright i’ll reschedule..” the other waiters lowkey HATE the fact he gets tipped so well and they try and figure out his secrets. he has none. he’s just good at his job. i could see kiyoko working a similar job or somewhere lowkey like a flourist or bakery. she’s equally as professional and admired.
ushijima wakatoshi: ANY JOB. give this man any job and he’ll be able to carry it out like he’s been doing it since he popped out the womb. often mistaken for a grown adult so he gets jobs pretty easily? very very professional and aims to do everything perfectly. i think he’d also prefer a vb related job just like bokuto but something that could really get him somewhere big, smth to do with olympics like a paid internship for them .. can you even intern for the olympics lmao?? maybe something for the japanese team. it’s a lot of work to balance school & intern life but he’s very comitted and knows it’ll benefit him in the future. (kageyama was fuming when he found out he could have done that instead of his current gig).
tendou satori: has a job he’s very under-qualified for but somehow pulls off. he’s chilling at the hospital or law firm three times a week after classes or somewhere ridiculous but he’s doing just fine!! doesn’t actually do professional work n helps with small things but it impresses the hell out of everybody he tells, has no interest in persuing those careers but it’s fun for him, he gets paid VERY well for a boy his age and his personality creates a nice, talkative atmosphere in these seemingly tense environments.
miya atsumu / osamu: they both work at a café for novelty because they’re these handsome, athletic twins and it’s a thing that brings people in. they do a lot of fan service stuff and osamu is EXCELLENT like he was made for this job but atsumu is awful at keeping his cool. osamu will be chatting up customers, trying to persuade them to order more and atsumu is having a heated tustle with the coffee machine that’s broken down for the third time that day and it really ruins the magic osamu is trying to create. atsumu has probably sworn loudly. has probably almost been fired. he’s bad at playing along and flirting because he literally just wants them to leave so he can sit down lmao. osamu uses the pastries in the café as inspiration for his own at-home baking fiascos because it’s a stress-reliving hobby.
terushima yuji: he’s that boy in shoe shops that tries to sell you sneakers and he knows literally everything about them even when you really didn’t ask... looking to hit on girls that come in because shoe knowledge is obviously very sexy! alternatively you might catch him in a tattoo shop or sumn real appearance based and he definitely remembers all the regulars and greets them like they’re close friends, we’re talking inside jokes. always seems to know what tattoo people are looking to get purely based on their appearance and initial impression...
the list of unemployed:
yachi: too scared to do ANY job that requires interaction, she’s plagued by it.
hoshiumi: fired for picking too many fights with customers.
kyotani: EVEN WORSE THAN HOSHIUMI though he was strangely very efficient at paperwork.
suna: quit on the first day because it wasn’t what he expected and he doesn’t care about money that much.
lev: his family are like.... rich?? n nobody really expected it but he’s like yeah i really do not need one of those lmao.
yamaguchi: broke things, spilt things, smashed things. he really was trying his best..
aone: intimidated customers too much so they let him go (he was just STANDING THERE.. he deserved better).
sakusa: local venues are filthy, ushijima got the internship spot, no other job interests him enough to persue.

You weren't against soulmates, in general, you were just against yours. Like a few others, your mark was there when you were born meaning that your soulmate was older than you. You weren't upset about them being older you just felt that you would make them uncomfortable or hold them back. Also, your soulmate mark wasn't even fully developed only being a dot which meant your soulmate was somewhere far from you making it less likely you'll meet putting you at ease. Now here you were in Japan in horror as your soulmate mark takes full effect.
You were traveling with your mom for a business meeting since it was mid-summer the heat was unforgivingly forcing you to wear tank tops. You felt nothing but a slight itch on you back and were startled when your mother threw her shoe at you and told you to take your clothes off. She was now sitting behind you recording your how your mark was spreading. "Your soulmate must have just come back to Japan or something?!" your mom squealed making your ears hurt and silently thanking the gods her quirk wasn't sound-based like this Present Mic you kept seeing on T.v. "What is it, mom?"
"Hell if I know, it's in Japanese!?" you deadpanned, "We are in Japan, but you don't know Japanese?" all you got was a knock on the head as your mom snapped a picture, "I think it's done!" you turn around and hold the phone staring in awe at the picture, "It's beautiful isn't it?" she asked trying to gauge a reaction. You only grimaced, "It's big and it's obvious." you say as you pull your shirt back up. "Oh come on Y/N!"
https://images.app.goo.gl/sE5UoRMFYN2XL21c8 This is the soulmate mark once it develops.
You stand up walking to your closet looking for clothes that weren't too heavy but would hide the mark. "You know how I feel mom!" she sighed, "Yeah but you didn't even give it a shot!" You turn towards her and in a fit of anger, you burst. "Yeah well dad didn't give it a shot now did he!?" your mom smacked upside your head and you instantly regretted your words as you saw the tears in her eyes. "That is exactly why I'm telling you to stop waiting! I waited and he was shipped away!"  You reached out for her only to pull back for you knew you had nothing to say. You scratched the back of your neck and kicked the air, 'I'm...I'm going to go for a walk, give you some space you know?" your mom only nodded as she fiddled with the promise ring your father gave her before he had to leave for 'family' business.
As you walked you thought of ways to say sorry to your mother. "Flowers won't do since she's allergic, maybe food." you muse as you walked out of the hotel. Walking the route you knew led to a mom and pop dinner, you absent-mindedly kept scratching your neck where you assumed the top Japanese character was. "Why is it so damn itchy?" you asked aloud but you just summed it to the fact that your skin was adjusting to the pigment change. You groan when you realize that your mark was only partially covered.
"No one should look too hard if I'm lucky they'll think it's a tattoo." You made it to the mom and pop shop and ordered some Chicken Karaage with your broken Japanese that you were sure even a toddler would laugh at. As you were waiting you couldn't help but notice a tall, blond, scrawny man staring at your back making you uneasy. His gaze was broken when a young boy with green hair came and sat down with a tray of feed. 'These Japanese people just love their wacky hair colors.' you smirked laughing with yourself.
Once you got your food you took your leave ignoring the skinwalker as you now referred to him. On your way back you hear a loud scream coming from a playground and you quickly run over. There was a strange creature that had ahead of what you could only assume to be a cat with its brain revealed bashing a large globe that held two little boys. Quickly putting the food on the ground you hop over the small brick wall surrounding the playground and take out a sword from your eye before jumping and trying to stop the thing through the back. Before you could land the blow the thing turned around and swiped at you barely missing as it ripped your shirt a bit tearing through the skin above your left breast. "It's always the weirdos with the brains," you growl.
You weren't a pro by any standards but you were a hero, in theory, you just graduated so you were still interning so the closest thing you came to is being a lifeguard of the hero world you jump in when no one else could. "I know I can't take this bastard on my own, but how the hell am I supposed to get a hero's attention?" you grumbled as you pulled a flaming bow and arrow kit out of both your eyes. You quickly took aim as the creature came barrelling towards you shaking the ground under is three-toed feet.
You take slow breaths deciding to aim for the eye, nerves becoming calmer the closer the thing got. You shot the arrow and it hit it's eye making it wail into the sky. As you expected it promptly pulled the arrow out and seemed to regenerate almost immediately. It didn't matter to you, all you were trying to do was get the kids out of there as you situate them on your back. You weren't the fastest but damn it you'd try. Suddenly a shadow cam over you and you looked up to see some beefy guy in red white and blue standing tall and proud in a protective stance in front of you. The kids on your back suddenly got stars in their eyes, "All MIght, All might."
The man threw his head back and laughed, "Have no fear, because I am here!" he announced to the world and you couldn't help but snort at how corny it was. You didn't miss how the man suddenly lost confidence at the sound of your amusement.
"I uh.." he trailed off, tan skin suddenly tinged red with embarrassment.
"Excuse me ma'am!" you looked forward and there stood the green-headed boy from earlier. "Could you please come over here where it's safe, the police are on their way. You look over at the tall man and your eyes widen as you see him use his head to slam into the creature. "Yeah that sounds like a great idea.." you trailed off following the boy. As you sat a distance away from the scene you give your witness statement when the police arrived and showed them your hero license when they questioned why you were using your quirk instead of running, it was a bit hard considering how you fumble with your Japanese but you pulled through. It took the man, All Might, 45 minutes to talk the creature down and for some reason, you could tell that this was not his best performance but every so often he would glance over you like a child showing that they could dress themselves.
You hand the kids over to the police and you head towards the park entrance face lighting up when you see that the food remains unharmed, cold, but unharmed. "Excuse me young lady!" came the broad voice of All MIght. "Yes?" you ask thinking he had more questions for you, "Can I speak with you in private?" you shrug seeing no harm in it only to yelp as your scooped up bridal style into his arms as he leaps about 50 feet in the air onto an apartment complex. "What the hell was that!?" you yelled swaying as you were set back on your feet. "I do apologize but I didn;t want any press involved"
You quirk your eyebrow, "Involved with what?" your eyes widen as the man began rolling off his hero onesie. "What are you doing!? I know Japan has different rules but I'm pretty sure streaking is a no-no!"
Your breath caught in your throat as he turned around and you saw the exact same soul mark as yours. 'So much for no one noticing.' you thought with a small frown. "I'm sure you know what this means." All Might said with a hopeful smile. You nod before snapping your finger realizing you just acquired the perfect forgive me gift, "Yeah can you come home with me?!" All Might suddenly backed up form you, hands up in a defensive position. "Waoh now young lady, I'm just as excited about finding each other as you are but I'm not sure if we should jump to that just yet, are you even of legal age?!" you scoff and stick your tongue out I am 18 for your information!" All MIght relaxed the slightest bit, "That's great but can we wait til a solid 19?!" you doubled over laughing when you realized the problem.
"That's not why I want you over All MIght! I want you to meet my mom!" All might completely deflate at that revelation and you've never seen someone at peace in such a fast instance "Oh okay."
When you arrived back to your room you open the door shocking your mother from the large man taking up all the space. "Mom this is..." you look at your soulmate realizing you didn't know his name, "Yagi Toshinori." he coughs awkwardly. "Yes, and he is my-" you were cut off as a loud hiss sounds off from Toshinori's direction, and before you can ask there is a puff of smoke and blood and suddenly the large man ou knew as all might disappeared and became the skinwalker that was watching you in the restaurant. "SkINNY MAN?!" you yelled pointing at him.
Yagi awkwardly scratched the back of his neck and laughed, "I thought that if you have my name you might as well have all my secrets." he said making your heart flutter. "This is cute and all but who the hell are you?!" both ou and Toshinori turn to face your mother. "We're soulmates."
your mother passed out

Ily guys!! Here you go! 🥰
Word Count: 3.1k
Warnings: Cheating but not really. Language. Talk about sex. Talk about drugs. Alcohol and other college party stuff.
Masterlist
Tumblr media
(Y/n), Terushima, Futakuchi, Atsumu and Taichi walked into Kuroo and Bokuto’s house later than expected, but there was a round of cheers for them as soon as they were noticed. Kuroo bounced over excitedly, his drink spilling over the edge of his red solo-cup as he pulled (Y/n) away to lead her toward Matsukawa and Hanamaki who were waiting for her in the backyard with Oikawa and Iwaizumi.
She giggled upon seeing them in their costumes. Hanamaki had darkened his hair somehow so it was red but Matsukawa had left his, instead styling it slightly.
“Oh my god, you two-” She fell into a fit of laughter as they strutted around and showed off their legs that were covered in thin white tights. She pulled them into a tight hug, thanking them for doing the group costume with her. “I love you guys, thank you so much!”
Hanamaki and Matsukawa both laughed and shrugged it off.
“Anything for you, (Y/n). You’re our girl.” Matsukawa said, slinging his arm around her shoulder. Makki wrapped his around her waist and Oikawa flailed his arms around excitedly.
“Let me get pictures!” He shouted, his halo nearly falling off as he jumped excitedly and rushed towards them. Iwaizumi rolled his eyes but smiled at his friends.
(Y/n) giggled at his annoyed look, curious on how Oikawa managed to convince him to do a couple costumes with him. They were an angel and a devil. Iwaizumi looked like he didn’t really care though, only wearing a red tight fitting t-shirt and black skinny jeans with a little devil tail clipped to his belt loop and a devil horn headband on his head.
Oikawa on the other hand, was wearing a pure white robe that had gold accents. His cheeks were dusted with gold and he had a halo headband on. Gold bracelets went up his arms and he had big angel wings on.
“He looks ridiculous, huh?” Iwaizumi asked as he caught (Y/n) eyeing his boyfriend's costume. She smiled and shrugged.
“It’s cute. Yours though, mister. Holy shit. Who gave you the right to be that hot.” She asked, making him blush. Oikawa snapped a couple of pictures of the trio in their costume and then turned to admire Iwaizumi with (Y/n).
“Iwa-chan is hot, isn’t he? But stop ogling my boyfriend! Go ogle your own!” Oikawa said, shoving his cell phone into Iwaizumi’s pocket.
“Hey-”
“Oh shush. You’re my pockets for the night, deal with it.” Oikawa demanded. (Y/n) smiled at them and then saw Terushima, Taichi, and Atsumu walk into the backyard. Terushima smiled at her lovingly before approaching.
His costume, Boomer from the Rowdyruff boys, looked good. They went for more of an e-boy route so he was wearing a black and white striped long sleeve shirt under a blue t-shirt that had the iconic black stripe across the chest. He was also wearing black fishnets under his ripped skinny jeans. He stuck his tongue out and winked at her as he approached.
“Hey baby girl,” He said, pulling her away from Hanamaki and Matsukawa who raised their eyebrows at him.
“Look at this tool,” Matsukawa said as Terushima wrapped his arms around (Y/n)’s waist and rested his chin on her shoulder. He cocked his head to the side and winked at them.
Taichi and Atsumu approached on either side of them. Taichi looked bored, but Atsumu was grinning.
“Wow, lookin’ hot Matsukawa.” He teased. He’d gone with Butch from the Rowdyruff boys but instead of wearing a long sleeve striped shirt, he was wearing a black hoodie under his green t-shirt. And he had dyed his hair back to black just for the night.
(Y/n) had tried suggesting to just use some wash out spray to do his hair but she was a few minutes too late.
Flashback to the night before
(Y/n) walked into her apartment after a busy day at work, Taichi trailing after her tiredly. They had been on the closing shift for the night.
“Teru! Atsumu! Ken? You guys here?” She called into the apartment. She heard a loud crash in the bathroom and hurried towards it, dropping her bag on the floor in her rush. “Holy shit, what happened? Are you oka….y?”
In the bathroom, Atsumu was sitting on the toilet with a towel wrapped around his neck and shoulders. Terushima was holding a bottle of hair dye and Futakuchi was laying in the bathtub, watching.
“Why the hell didn’t you just use the halloween hair dye spray that washes out?” She asked as Taichi peeked in over her shoulder. He groaned and turned and walked away.
“...I didn’t think of that.”
END of flashback
“Fuck, I know.” Matsukawa said back, a grin rising to his face. They fist bumped.
Hanamaki grinned at Taichi who shook his head.
“Don’t.” Taichi said. He was Brick and he absolutely hated it, even though he didn’t wear anything out of ordinary. He was in a red jumper with singular black stripes on the upper arms. He had a lock and chain necklace on and a single dangly cross earring on.  He also was wearing a black beanie and he looked cute in (Y/n)’s opinion.
“But Taichi, bro! You look good. We’d make a picture perfect couple, don’t you think?” Hanamaki asked, batting his eyelashes at him.
“I’m going to find Semi.” Taichi disappeared after that. Hanamaki pouted but turned and grinned at (Y/n) again a second later.
“I’m gonna go harass him,” Hanamaki said, making everyone laugh as he sprinted off. Atsumu and Matsukawa followed after him, leaving Iwaizumi, Oikawa, (Y/n) and Terushima alone. Oikawa smiled at Terushima but it was a bit forced.
“You two look good. Don’t they, Iwa-chan?” Iwaizumi stared at the couple then he shrugged.
“(Y/n) looks good. I dunno about Terushima though,” Terushima gasped and pulled away from (Y/n), glaring at the two older men.
“You two are fucking rude.” He said making (Y/n) snort. “I’m going to grab a drink, alright babe? I’ll be back in a few, yeah?” (Y/n) nodded. He kissed her cheek goodbye and then walked towards the glass sliding door that was wide open. (Y/n) smiled after him and then turned back to her friends who were watching her with fond looks.
“What?” She asked defensively. They shrugged.
“You just look really happy is all,” Iwaizumi said, crossing his arms. Oikawa nodded in agreement.
“You do seem happy. I’m glad. You deserve it, (Y/n)-chan!” She smiled at them and pulled them into a hug.
“Aw, you guys…” She said as they both hugged her back. Iwaizumi was the first to squirm away, claiming he also needed a drink. Oikawa and (Y/n) let him go with little pouts but when they curled up on chairs next to the fire pit and chatted to themselves.
“So (Y/n)-chan. You and Teru have been together for a few weeks now, yeah?”
“Yup!”
“And he treats you right?” Oikawa asked, eyes narrowing. She nodded.
“Of course he does. He gets a simp of the year award.” She said with a smile. Oikawa nodded and fist bumped her.
“Iwa-chan does too. He’s very sweet behind closed door,” Oikawa winked and she snorted. “Speaking of behind closed doors. Have you two-”
“No.” She replied quickly making Oikawa freeze with wide eyes. Then he smirked.
“My my, (Y/n)-chan. That was a hard no, wasn’t it?” He asked and she rolled her eyes, pulling her legs to her chest as she stared at the flickering flames of the fire. “Why’s that? You’ve had sex before haven’t you?” She shrugged.
“I- I guess I’m scared?” (Y/n) said, not looking up.
“Why?” Oikawa frowned.
“Because Yuuji has this image, right? He’s popular. Nice. Funny… I’m scared that once he gets all of me then he’ll leave because he’s had better and-”
“Sorry, I’m gonna stop you there.” Oikawa grabbed (Y/n)’s hand and squeezed it gently. “I don’t know Terushima too well, but from what you tell me, he seems like a great guy. One who respects you and cares about you a lot. I don’t think you need to rush to have sex or anything but I don’t think you should be scared to have sex either.”
She nodded and smiled back at him.
“Yeah… You’re right. I just-” (Y/n) was cut off by the back glass door getting slammed open. Iwaizumi was fuming and his hair was dripping with water as he walked towards them. “Oh shit, what happened Iwa?”
“I swear to god I’m going to kill your boyfriend (Y/n).”
“What? Why?” Her heart was racing.
“He fucking- that bastard just almost drowned me in that stupid apple bobbing bullshit!” (Y/n) and Oikawa laughed as Iwaizumi ran his hands through his hair. He flicked droplets of water at them and then sat in the small gap of the chair next to Oikawa before pulling his boyfriend onto his lap.
Oikawa whispered something into Iwaizumi’s ear and the ex ace began to turn red. (Y/n) smiled and looked away from them as they started having their own little private conversation. She didn’t want to intrude so she stood up, saying she was going to grab a drink.
“Hey hey hey! What’s up, (Y/n)!” Bokuto asked as (Y/n) entered the house. She smiled at him and patted his arm as he pulled her into a side hug.
“Hey Bokuto! I like your costume!” He looked down at her confused. “I LIKE YOUR COSTUME!” She shouted over the music. He laughed and nodded. He was a sexy firefighter, wearing only the pants of the costume with suspenders and the helmet.
“I like yours too!” (Y/n) smiled at him and then eyed Akaashi who was standing next to him, wearing a lifeguard costume (aka just a shite t-shirt with a red cross on it and red swim shorts). He had sunscreen smeared on his nose and a cheap flimsy whistle around his neck. He smiled at her as she got done looking him up and down and then also pulled her into a small hug.
“Hello, (Y/n)-san.”
“Hi Akaa-chii! He smiled at the nickname and patted her head before he was dragged away towards a beer pong table by Bokuto who was screaming at Kuroo and Daichi for a re-match.
She chuckled fondly and kept maneuvering her way through the crowd of unfamiliar faces and costumes. She dodged angel and devil wings and even a long dragon tail. She also had to avoid the ass end of a donkey costume that was dancing wildly on the dance floor.
She sighed as she got to the kitchen, reaching into a random cooler to grab a drink. She popped the cap off the bottle and took a long swig, her face contorting in disgust at the taste of whatever she grabbed.
“Hey, (Y/n).” Futakuchi said as he entered the kitchen. She smiled at him.
“Hi Ken,” She smiled at him. “Where are the others?”
“Ah, Terushima is dancing in the living room I think and Taichi and Atsumu are doing keg stands in the game room.” She nodded and thanked him, heading towards the livingroom to try and track down her boyfriend.
Upon entering the living room, she immediately spotted him. There in all his glory he was dancing with their newfound friends. Suga and a bunch of people she’d never seen before were hyping him up, dancing and jumping around with him. He was in his element.
“Do it! Do it! Do it!” A chant started and Terushima laughed along, rolling his eyes. There was a girl with blonde hair standing next to him that grabbed him by the back of the neck, yanking him down and into a kiss.
At first (Y/n) didn’t realize what was going on. And then it clicked.
Terushima had just kissed someone.
Her boyfriend just kissed someone that wasn’t her.
Her boyfriend willingly just kissed someone that wasn’t her, in front of her.
“What the fuck.” (Y/n) said, her hand that was holding her beverage falling limp against her side. Everything felt like it was in slow motion.
Everything aside from Terushima was blurred as he laughed and joked with the girl he’d just kissed. Like he didn’t do anything wrong.
(Y/n) realized that the only reason everything was blurry was because of the tears gathering in her eyes. But if Terushima was going to act like nothing was wrong, then so was she. So she left. She set her bottle down on the counter as she walked towards the door. Kuroo and Semi both tried calling out to her but she ignored them, exiting the house quietly. She wrapped her arms around her bare arms as she walked down the sidewalk and towards the unfamiliar city of Tokyo.
She didn’t know where she was going, but she knew Kait was somewhere within the giant city. She just hoped that Kait had her phone on her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Y/n) walked a little further to a little empty park, sitting down on the empty swings. By now all the trick or treaters were gone and the streets were empty aside from a few small groups of teens who were laughing and teasing each other.
“What the fuck,” (Y/n) repeated to herself as the image of her boyfriend kissing another girl replayed in her head. She didn’t want to believe that it was true, but she’d seen it with her own eyes as Terushima pressed his lips to some blonde girls.
She didn’t realize that the tears were falling until they dripped down onto her lap and through her thin dress. She was shaking from the cold but she didn’t care. She only had to wait 15 minutes and then she’d be with Kait and they could figure things out together from there.
Would she break up with Terushima?
Did he not love her?
Was he just using her? Did he get bored that fast? Maybe if she’d done more he wouldn’t feel the need to go off and kiss someone else.
She tried to be enough, she really did.
School and work filled a lot of her schedule but she always tried to make as much time for him as she possibly could.
Why was this happening?
“(Y/n)?” A voice called out. Was that Kait? Had it been 15 minutes already?
(Y/n) looked up as she heard Kait’s voice call out to her.
“Kait?”
“Oh (Y/n),” Kait rushed forward, followed by three other figures. (Y/n)’s lip quivered as she stood up from the swing. As she met Kait halfway the tears she’d been holding back broke free and she let out a choked sob as Kait enveloped her in a hug. “Oh, honey, no…”
_____________
Terushima laughed as he tossed back another shot of something clear. He knew it definitely wasn’t water as it made the back of his throat burn but he was okay with that.
It was halloween night and he was at a party, the point of this entire night was to get drunk and have fun and that’s exactly what he was doing.
“Yo, Suga! You were holding out of us with this guy! You knew he existed and didn’t tell us?” Tanaka laughed as he danced next to Terushima. Noya was jumping around excitedly next to them, screaming the lyrics to whatever song was playing on the speaker.
Tanaka was wearing a blonde wig, an entirely pink outfit, imitating Regina George from Mean Girls. His girlfriend, Kiyoko was Aaron Samuels, wearing a simple blue mens polo shirt and some baggy jeans with her hair pulled back into a low ponytail. Noya was Gretchen Weiners but his brunette wig had ended up falling off when he did a keg stand earlier and he was just too lazy to put it back on. They had convinced their friend Kinnoshita to be Karen Smith but he was currently puking his guts out in the bathroom upstairs accompanied by Ennoshita and Narita who were Cady Heron and Janis Ian.
“Yo I could kiss this man right now,” Terushima said as Tanaka poured him another shot. Noya smirked.
“Do it!” Suga rolled his eyes but nodded in agreement.
“Do it! Do it!”
And soon enough the entire room was cheering for the two to kiss. Tanaka rolled his eyes but reached and grabbed Terushima by the back of his neck, pulling him down into a quick kiss. When they separated, they laughed and fist bumped, taking another shot.
After a few more minutes of dancing, Terushima made his way towards the kitchen where Semi and Kuroo looked concerned.
“What’s going on guys?” He asked as he pulled a beer can from a cooler. He popped the tab and took a sip as they exchanged looks of concern. “Hey, either of you two seen (Y/n)? I left her in the back with Oikawa and Iwaizumi but I haven’t been back there and-”
“Terushima, (Y/n) left.” Semi said, making Terushima freeze.
“What?”
“We both just saw (Y/n) take off out the door a few minutes ago. She looked like she was about to cry,” Kuroo said, making Terushima enter panic mode.
“And neither of you tried to stop her?”
“I- we called out to her. We thought she was just getting some fresh air or something, calm down. I’m sure she’s fine.” Semi said, making Terushima shake his head.
“No, I gotta go find her. She doesn’t know her way around Tokyo. None of us do, what if she gets kidnapped?”
“What’s going on in here?” Matsukawa asked as Terushima slammed his beer can on the counter. He pulled out his phone and started texting (Y/n).
“Did you see (Y/n) leave?”
“(Y/n) left?” Oikawa asked as he and Iwaizumi entered the kitchen. Terushima shook his head as he got no response.
“She’s not answering me. Oikawa, text her.”
Tumblr media
“What? What the fuck is going on?” Iwaizumi asked as Oikawa pulled out his phone and began texting their friend.
“(Y/n) took off a few minutes ago and now she’s not answering her phone.”
“Okay so check all the rooms and stuff. And check outside. Try and find her around the house before we go out looking, yeah?” Kuroo said, making everyone in the kitchen nod and split up. Terushima and Semi went out the front door, calling (Y/n), hoping to either get her to answer or to hear her ringtone but there was nothing.
“Fuck!” Terushima shouted. “I lost my fucking girlfriend and she’s probably scared and upset and-”
“Do you think someone drugged her?” Terushima’s head turned at lightning speed and he glared at Semi.
“Why would you even say that?”
“I- what! It happens!”
Tumblr media
Well. That happened.
Another post tomorrow <3

Eliot: Where the hell is he at?
Hardison: Maybe he overslept.
Eliot: No. He doesn't oversleep. This guy sets an alarm to set his alarm.
Parker: A man with one watch knows the time. A man with two is never sure.
Sophie: Huh?
Parker: I had fortune cookies for breakfast.
(Nate walks in looking very rough)
Nate: Okay, run it.
Hardison: So, what, you had left over Chinese for breakfast?
Parker: No, just the cookies.
Hardison: Do you put milk on the fortune cookies? ‘Cause I don’t…
Parker: It's not cereal. It's a fortune cookie. You don't dunk it.
Nate: Whoa, no chatter today. Just -- Just run it
we love the chaotic ot3

[Resort Lounge]
(Randy looks through the planner, finds her passport, and does an internet search)
[Resort Bar]
Hardison: Sorry, Ute Ausgatner.
(Hardison uses photoshop to superimpose Sophie’s face on an actual Luge athelete)
[Ute Ausgatner’s House]
(Ute is surfing the internet and finds all the pictures of her have been change to that of Sophie. She starts cursing in German to her mother)
SKSKNSNDNKKS

Sophie: Here we got to make room for heli-Skiing pad, you know, all the usual, you know, spa's facilities. We're gonna have the heated plunge pools and the Jacuzzis and the hot tubs.
Randy: Ski in, ski out?
Sophie: Yeah. Boom?
Randy: Boom
their entire plan here was EXTREMELY ridiculous
- - - - -
Nate: Okay, Parker. Go.
[Ski Lift]
(Parker calmly dives off the lift, hanging by it from one hand, completely unconcerned)
Nate: Parker?
[Resort Bar]
Nate: Parker?
[Ski Lift]
Nate: Parker?
Parker: Hmm?
Nate: What are you doing?
Parker: Oh, yeah. (sounding bored) Help. Help. (to man) How you doin’?

- - - - -
the picture of eliot and his VERY seriously fake german wife I’m screaming

Sophie: So, uh, you can write that little check now, eh?
[Resort Bar]
Hardison: Hey, why can't they all be this easy?

Retzing: Well, give me the dirty details.
Randy: Just some skiing. Dad, meet Leena Christinger.
Sophie: Guten tag.
Retzing: French. Nice
“french? nice” sophie looks ready to scream
- - - - -
the scene of parker and eliot running around in the back yard is cute y’all but I’ll take literally any ot3 interaction and adore it so
+
eliot nodding at parker, not having to say anything before he boosts her up to the second floor
+
I’m sorry but her lil thieving outfit with suspenders is ADORABLE
- - - - -
[Office]
(Parker plants a bug on the back of a frame, sees someone at the door, pulls the flash drive from the laptop, and dives out the window)
[Exterior House]
(Eliot sees Parker falling toward him)
Eliot: Holy...
(Parker lands on Eliot, knocking him to the ground)
Eliot: Damn it, Parker. A little warning next time. How'd you even know I’d be there?
Parker: I didn't
eliot will always catch her because that’s just who he is
also, she just had blind faith that she’d be okay ??? like that’s just her way of thinking- act now, figure it out on the way down
she didn’t know eliot would be there, but that is the first time out of MANY for the rest of their lives that eliot is there to catch her when she falls
they don’t know it yet, but he’ll always be there to make sure she’s safe and sound
- - - - -
Nate: And besides, we're going with a much bigger scam. One of the classics.
Parker: The London Spank?
Hardison: The Genevan Paso Doble.
Eliot: The Apple Pie. (everyone looks at him questioningly) It's like the cherry pie, but with lifeguards.
Sophie: Ooh.
Nate: Glengarry Glen Death. It's like a-a mutual fund, but instead of stocks, you invest in--in death. (walks out on balcony)
Parker: I-Is it me, or is he getting creepier?
we love to hear all of the wacky con names
- - - - -
parker had like a million rubber bands around her fingers ??? maybe it’s a boredom thing that she does ???
- - - - -
Eliot: You know, we could get another chamber, and then put a brain with a tumor in that one and then send the signal to the monitor for this chamber. Cross the wires.
(everyone looks at him)
Eliot: What? I dated a neurologist.
(Sophie looks pleased)
he never said the gender (he often doesn’t when talking about his past lovers) and I stan him for that- also it lets us assume that some of them were men
ALSO
eliot really pays attention to his lovers! he listens to them about their jobs and their lives and it is shown many times throughout the series
- - - - -
Nate: What we need to do is, we need to secure this chamber and the one next to it, have to make sure that the coms work with the magnetic interference, set up a meeting with the Retzings. Somebody find me a brain.
Parker: Oh, yeah. He's definitely getting creepier
the way she says it in a sing song voice tho
- - - - -
(Eliot prepares the body as Hardison gets the shot ready. Hardison turns and holds the shot out to Eliot who takes it but hands it back)
Hardison: What? You.
Eliot: Go.
Hardison: What you mean, "go"?
Eliot: Because it was your idea.
Hardison: No. No. No. No. It's my information. It's Nate’s idea to do this nastiness.
(they both look at the body)
Eliot: Rock-Paper-Scissors?
(Hardison nods. Eliot sticks the shot into the body’s leg and they play two rounds of Rock-Paper-Scissors, Eliot watching Hardison’s face. Hardison loses)
Hardison: Well, I’ll be damned. How you do that?
Eliot: You got a tell.
(Eliot hands the shot to Hardison)
Hardison: I have a tell.
Eliot: Yeah.
Hardison: In Rock-Paper-Scissors?
Eliot: Yeah, go.
the first of MANY rock paper scissors disputes that always end up in eliot’s favor
- - - - -
(Parker joins Eliot and Hardison sitting on the MRI machine, listening. She gestures with her hands for the boys to scoot over so she can sit between them.)
how she gestures with her hands for them to move over and they immediately scoot so that she can sit in the middle ? iconic. beautiful. glorious.
- - - - -
Nate: Payout bonus kind of thing. (writing check) $100,000?
[MRI Room 1]
Parker: What is he doing?!
(Parker gets up angrily and heads for door, a moment later, Eliot follows her)
Hardison (to body): Sup?
[Hallway]
Nate: There you go (hands him check) 100G.
Dennis: I think this just might work out after all.
Sophie: With this money, you know, you can start your own company, just leave your father for good, hey?
(behind them in the hall, Parker comes out, headed for Nate. Eliot picks her up and carries her back out of sight)
chaotic ot3
- - - - -
Nate: Guys, you got to trust me, all right? You've trusted me before, and with your life.
Eliot (slams his hand down on the table): Not when you're drunk.
Nate: Oh, come on.
Eliot: You're not in control of yourself.
Nate: So, what, you're gonna control me? Is that it?
Eliot: Ah, I ain't your daddy. You can drink yourself into a coma as far as I’m concerned, but you take me down with you -- then it's my problem.
Nate: You know, you talk too much. You ought to just go skip some rope.
Eliot: What? What? (gets up angrily)
Nate: Skip some rope.
Eliot: You want me to skip something? (heads across the room)
Sophie: Hey, hey! (gets in front of Eliot)
Eliot: I'll skip your drunk ass off this marble floor
eliot wants everyone to be safe + you can tell he’s had troubled alcoholics making bad, endangering decisions in his past and eliot is not going to have that be in his life again
- - - - -
eliot was dressed like a true floridian in the bank scene- bulky, fake gold jewelry, sunglasses, check hawaiian shirt, etc
he was the og florida man

If There’s a Place I Could Be - Chapter Ten
If There’s a Place I Could Be Tag
April 16th, 2000
Emile sat outside the hospital room, tears drying on his cheeks. He had used them all up, waiting to see if Alex would wake up. “Come on, Alex, please,” Emile murmured. “I’ve lost too many friends already, I don’t want to lose you too.”
Alex’s parents came over to him and they had a brief chat, mostly them thanking him for visiting Alex when he did, because otherwise...well, none of them wanted to think about what could have happened.
It stung when Alex was finally awake and Emile was immediately yelled out of the room. He had just wanted to make sure Alex was okay! He had lost too many friends to suicide that year already, he didn’t want to lose another! Still, he just hoped Alex would recover. Even if they never spoke again, Emile was just glad Alex was alive.
  November 27th, 2000
Emile felt relief flood through him as he was sitting on the outside steps of the dorms and found Remy getting out of a small sedan, looking none the worse for wear. “Rem!” Emile exclaimed, running over and hugging him. In an instant, he was holding Remy at arms length to poke and prod at him. “Are you hurt? Did they do anything to you?”
“Emile! Emile, I’m fine!” Remy exclaimed, swatting Emile’s hands away and huffing. “No need to mother hen me!”
It was then that Emile noticed the car was still parked, and Remy’s parents looking out the window. Emile pointed and said, “Are those your parents?”
Remy sighed. “Yeah. You want to meet them?”
“No, I’m okay,” Emile said. His voice dropped to a murmur as he said, “They’re making sure you call off the apartment?”
“Yeah,” Remy said at normal volume. “About the whole apartment thing...I’m not sure if I want to go through with it anymore. At least, not right now, you know? Maybe sophomore year, if we don’t have to live on campus.”
“Aw, you sure?” Emile asked. “Because if it’s a matter of rent, I got a call back from Target for an interview...”
“No, it’s not rent. I just think I want to give it until the end of freshman year,” Remy said, and Emile could see how pained he was saying those words. “You know, see if college really might be better if I...if I changed my major.”
Emile blinked and several different swears came to his mind as he realized that Remy's parents must have pressured him into doing just that if he came back. “Well, you’ve been taking general education stuff, so you don’t have to worry about not having the wrong credits,” he improvised. “What do you think your new major will be?”
Remy’s mother wasn’t remotely discreet as she looked out the window of the car, but Remy was standing just so, meaning she couldn’t see the absolute pain and heartbreak on his face as he said, “I was thinking accounting.”
Emile nodded. “Well, that certainly seems like something you would find a stable job in,” he said. “Do you want to hang out for a bit?”
“Sure. Your dorm or mine?”
“How about mine?” Emile asked.
Remy’s shoulders sagged with relief and he nodded. “Thanks for being understanding about the apartment,” he said, as they walked through the front doors to the dorms.
As soon as the door was closed and Remy’s parents were gone, Remy’s legs buckled and his eyes were filling up with tears. “I hate them,” he whispered. “I hate them I hate them I hate them.”
“Frankly? I don’t blame you,” Emile said. “Come on, let’s go to my dorm.”
Remy let himself be led to Emile’s dorm, and when they were finally there, Remy broke down crying. “They said I had to change my major if I came back, Emile,” he said. “Because clearly I wasn’t going to go anywhere with a business major. I wasn’t ‘grateful enough’ for the chance to go to college.”
“That’s bull,” Emile said. “Deciding that college isn’t for you doesn’t mean that you’re ungrateful. And who cares whether you’re grateful or not anyway? It’s not like they’re paying for it or anything!”
Remy shook as he collapsed onto the free bed in the room. “They...they’re trying to kill me Emile. I don’t know if they understand that, but they are. And you know what? They’d blame me for that too, if I went off and killed myself.”
Emile gently placed a hand on Remy’s shoulder and said with absolute firmness, “Good thing you’re a convincing liar, then.”
Remy offered a small smile. “Yeah, I guess so.”
Emile smiled back. “You know, I wasn’t lying about Target calling me back for an interview. I may get a job, one of their long-term workers is going on maternity leave and they’ll need someone who’s willing to work odd hours, because she did stocking. And I’m perfectly okay getting up in the middle of the night to go to work, so long as it gets us rent and I don’t fall asleep in class.”
“What makes you so sure that they won’t just keep on one of the holiday workers, instead?” Remy asked.
“Well, I don’t know if they’d rather keep one of the holiday workers, but I have wicked interview skills, I kinda doubt that most of the holiday workers would even expect to be held on to after the rush. And if they don’t even work like their job depends on it, that just increases my chances,” Emile said.
Remy blinked. “You’re relying on others’ poor work ethic to get a job?” he asked.
“Well, yeah,” Emile said with a shrug. “I was only ever a lifeguard before. I don’t exactly have a full resumé that they can look through.”
“That’s not a very solid plan,” Remy warned.
“I know,” Emile said. “But it’s the best plan I have.”
Remy sighed and ran his hands down his face. “Maybe this was a bad idea,” he mumbled. “Maybe I should just listen to my parents.”
“No,” Emile said. “No, don’t say that, Remy.”
“Why not? They’ll always try and control my life. Even if I try to leave them, they’ll always haunt me. What’s the use in trying if you can’t even get rid of what’s bothering you?”
“Remy, don’t say that, please,” Emile all but begged. His hands were shaking at his sides. He couldn’t lose another friend. Not again. Not again. He didn’t want to say goodbye.
“It’s true, though!” Remy exclaimed, throwing his hands in the air. “They’re never going to leave me alone! Not unless they don’t know where I live! And the only way they wouldn’t know that is if I cut off all communication with all of my family! Including Vanessa, including Toby! And I don’t want to stop talking to Toby! But if I keep talking to him, my parents are going to find out where I live somehow, and I! Can’t! Live! Like! This!”
Emile grabbed Remy’s hands in a desperate attempt to grab Remy’s attention. “Remy, please,” Emile begged. “Please, please. We’ll figure out a way to keep you safe. You won’t have to deal with your parents but you can talk to your brother if you want to. We’ll find a way. I’ll find a way. Just, please. Please don’t talk like there’s no hope.”
Remy yanked his hands free of Emile’s grip. “Emile, I know you’re attached to me, but you really shouldn’t be. I’m broken, I have too much baggage. It would be easier for all of us if you stopped talking to me and I did something drastic.”
Emile shook his head. “No. No, I will not let you hurt yourself, Remy. And if you insist on trying to bash your brains in or jump off a building, then I’m going to send you to the local hospital.”
“I don’t need ‘help,’ Emile!” Remy snapped.
“Yes you do!” Emile shouted back.
The whole room fell dead silent. It seemed like the world had stopped. Emile couldn’t be bothered to care. Tears were streaming down his face. Remy was glaring at him. “No. I don’t,” Remy’s voice was soft, but deadly. “And if you say I do again, then I’m calling off the move.”
Emile’s breath was ragged. “Fine. I won’t say you need help,” Emile said. “But I will say that most people don’t consider themselves broken. Most people don’t have that sort of baggage that you have. Most people don’t have their parents trying to control every last aspect of their life. Most people aren’t suicidal. Because that’s what you are, Remy. You think you’re better off dead. Even if you don’t have a plan, you’re suicidal. And...and I don’t want to lose another friend. Not again. So maybe you don’t need help. Maybe you can struggle on your own. But how much longer will you muddle through until you break? Until you decide that being dead has every benefit and being alive has none? Until you actually try to kill yourself?! Maybe you don’t need help, which I disagree with, but for the sake of your argument let’s go along with it. If you don’t need help, but you were offered help, offered a chance to let go of some of that baggage, offered a way to lighten your load, wouldn’t you want that? Wouldn’t you want to feel better?”
Remy stared at Emile a long, long time. Emile thought that Remy was finally seeing Emile’s point. Maybe he’d agree. Maybe he’d say he would at least try. Maybe he would at least back down off the ledge again. But maybes weren’t anything to base hope on. “How do I know that I’d still be me?” Remy asked. “If they pump me full of meds and make me talk about my feelings, I’ll just be a zombie. Being hurt is better than being nothing.”
Emile ran his hands through his hair. “Are you genuinely that thick?! Do you not understand what you’re doing here?! You’re killing yourself, Rem! You say college is going to kill you! You and I make a plan to fix that, at least so that you can stick around a little while longer, and then your parents come into the equation and mess everything up! You don’t have to deal with your parents if you don’t want to! Tell them a false address, tell them that you don’t want to see them ever again and kick them out, hell, file a restraining order! You don’t have to go through medication and therapy, not if you’re not ready, so long as you take the stressor out of the equation! And for the record, medication that works correctly won’t make you feel like a zombie, it’ll make you feel like a healthy person! Which, if you ask me, is way better than being hurt! You say your parents and college are trying to kill you? Well, you’re doing it to yourself as well! How can you not see that?!”
Remy stared at Emile with such betrayal in his eyes that Emile was pretty sure Remy might launch himself out of the window there and then. “I don’t need a therapist,” Remy said. “And I don’t need medication.”
“For crying out loud, Remy,” Emile said, running his hands through his hair. “You’re a classic case of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder! PTSD! Do you know what PTSD is?”
“It’s that thing that soldiers get from war. But I’m not a soldier,” Remy said.
“No, but based on what I’ve gathered from your life, you grew up in a war zone,” Emile ground out. “Your parents are not good people. You have every right to hate them. But don’t let them dictate your life. If you keep repeating their rhetoric about how you don’t need a therapist, how you don’t need meds, how you’re too strong and that those things are a sign of weakness, you’re letting them win. Spite them. Admit that you sometimes need help. Maybe don’t get meds and a therapist. Maybe only get one or the other. But don’t let yourself waste away because of something said by the very people you hate in the first place.”
Remy stared at Emile again. “You genuinely care,” Remy said, sounding almost...mystified.
“Yes, Remy, I do,” Emile said.
“Why?” Remy asked.
“Because you’re my friend, idiot. I want to see you happy. Friends want to see their friends happy, and want to make sure they’re safe, and living well.” Emile shook his head. “But I’ll tell you this: no matter if you’re my friend or not, I have to take care of my own mental health first. And if you refuse help, you know what’s going to happen?”
“What?” Remy asked, tilting his chin up.
“Then I’ll cut you off,” Emile said. “If you’re going to hurt yourself, and me in the process, then we can’t be friends anymore. That’s the way this works. I’m my first priority. You should be your first priority. And because I’m my first priority, and you aren’t, then if you’re going to hurt me I won’t be able to handle you.”
Remy blinked. “You serious?” he asked. “You would...leave me out to dry?”
“You’d be doing that to yourself,” Emile said. “I’ve given you plenty of opportunities to get help. You’ve turned every last one of them down. Get help, or at least get rid of your parents. If not, and you keep spiralling, I won’t be able to catch you. You’ll hit rock bottom and have to climb your way back up on your own.”
Remy stared at Emile long and hard. Emile met his gaze. Slowly, Remy’s eyes drifted away and he sighed. “Do you know any shrinks around here who deal with that...PTS-whatever thing you talked about?”
“As a matter of fact, I have found a few from studying psychology and asking around about resources,” Emile said. “Would you want a list of different people you can try?”
“...Yeah,” Remy said. “If it means I can still be friends with you, then yeah.”

AH ChitChat Notes 3 22 21
Chitchat 32221 with Jeremy , michael and matt ft disembodied voices of lindsay and maybe kaden , gus in chat and joins
Jeremy: Kaden spoke up because of donuts earlier… Michael: Jacks time is over now… but he will be on stream later. Jeremy: oh yeah schedule. Slight last minute changes doing Fall Guys first cuz S4 came out… me michael  lindsay and matt did a letsplay in it earlier today … gus will be doing fall guys this stream (eyyy)... oh yeah and i wanna impersonate what jack does. Matt: do it. Jeremy: and if you're watching on the site we can see your chat like FatHippoHippo wrote BET in all capitals … yeah i just wanted to get into the spirit and be like “what would jack do, what would he think is funny” and that was it. Lindsay: alsoone of those WWJD bracelets from the 90s What Would Jack Do… (matt: ive repurposed them) Jeremy: so how are you doing? Lindsay: good weekend i guess , just telling Matt we watched Big Hero 6 yesterday (Jeremy: aw hell yell) still an awesome movie , kids loved it. Jeremy: where they scared of - idk if he has a name the kabuki villain… *looking it up* apparently its Yokai… guess they never really say it cuz that's generic. Lindsay: that's VERY generic. Michael: IVE GOT TO TAKE THIS CALL *facecam becomes void* Jeremy: ok spoiler alert for Big Hero 6 but just looking at the wiki… it makes an audacious claim. It says “professor robert calahan OR ALSO BETTER KNOW as his villain name Yokai”... is it? Lindsay: well its based on a comic right so i guess canonically he has a name…. But to answer your question No they werent scared … anyway something we noticed upon rewatching is that 2 characters before a MAJOR event happens to the fistbump… but DON'T do the explosion… like oooohhh foreshadowing. Michael: not really foreshadowing if they keep doing it throughout the movie , if anything its foreshadowing that like… hell… whats the robots name - baymax learning it… not really foreshadowing the building explodes (gen notes MAJOR EVENT) … what blew my mind was that movie has a post credits scene. Jeremy: oh yeah was it like with the dudes father. Michael: Fred yeah! Remember remarking upon them entering the house theres a portrait of the dad and i just went “his dads just Stan Lee… just a portrait of him” Post credits scene and guys talking to painting and - wasn't paying attention but he like hits his head on it and the wall opens up to show a superhero room with paraphernalia everywhere and Stan Lee walks in like “son we got a lot to talk about” Jeremy: Chat asking about if i watched the wrestling PayPerView… remember how i updated you last that the guy died in the ring after being set on fire (Michael: lemme guess hes a zombie now) - yep exactly last night a hand reached up and grabbed someones leg , he came out of the smoke with a melted messed up mask so yeah…. Hes a furry (i think?) zombie clown Michael: hey wait a minute let me read the chat , someone named Gus said “whoa no idea there was a post credit scene”  “what is a fastfood restaurant combo wish would open” Lindsay: Miss my KenTaco Hutt… Michael: idk im usually just in the mood for SOMETHING , not looking to combine , only time is when i want a certain food and they don't have the same sides i want other places have . like Sonic is amazing for sides , apps and drinks… don't care for entrees , but if i could get Sonic sides at McDonalds or Taco bell or something.. Jeremy: guess in the same vein id combine Dairy Queen with a lot of places (Matt: i was about to say) to get a BLIZZARD with whatever. Matt: that's how it usually goes anyway , you get the food , you drive by the Dairy Queen and get a desert - you don't get the food at Dairy Queen cuz why - just why Lindsay: i mean theres icecream but there isnt really fastfood places for other deserts… like theres not really a Cake or Cupcake place (Matt: not yet *tilts head at camera like “you know what i want”* ) there IS the cupcake ATM Matt: alright checking the google… Michael: Matts checking the driving distance. Jeremy: another questions whil matts looking up cakes (Matt: oh i already have it) nevermind then. Conware asks “what is your fave controller for console and whats fave controller you own” Jeremy: Idk really… i know for a while everyones was the Elite 2 Michael: yeah just most comfortable. Matt: well that's like a specialty type… if its a stock one then the switch pro controller is pretty good. Michael: i mean i also have this 8Bit do SNES bluetooth controller thing , love it Lindsay: i love the nintendo switch controller grip… makes it feel like it curves comfy around your palms Jeremy: the XBOX sea of thieves one is great (Matt: i was about to say…) got a glow in the dark skull in the middle , RT is like a gold tooth , is partly see through Matt: and it comes with some exclusive stuff for Sea of Thieves Lindsay: yeah like Motion Sickness. Matt: i got one that's just a donut. Lindsay: gave me an idea… you know how theres Pez Dispensers (matt: heard of them) yeah and how you don't really even use them right you just eat the candy and play with the thing  ( *matt nods approvingly* yeah about right) what if we invent a controller where every once in a while it opens up to give a snack. (Matt: yeah like everytime you get an achievement, Jeremy: yeah i did good! Just go up to the controller and eat it) “You Are Good Boy” Matt: be funnier if it just throws at you “everyone have a fave seasons and followup do you like seasons where you grew up or where you are now?” Jeremy: i mean springs probably my fave its easy to be outside , not boiling hot nor snow everywhere… great time to camp and fish , falls cool with changing colors… texas is like “do you want REALLY hot or hot?”  Michael: i do really like Fall on the East Coast but its like - yeah i miss it and its nice to be there when it happens where its light jacket weather. I used to wear sweatshirts all the time - i don't bother with long sleeves in texas cuz i know im taking it off within 30 min…  never knew about the Water Cup thing until i lived in texas where restaurants just HAVE water cups… blew my mind its free  - because people will drop dead . noticed they just have this seperate stack of clear cups which is i guess like “i BETTER not see any soda in that cup THAT'S  A WATER CUP!”. I don't like it when its 105 degrees but i do like being able to just wear Tshirts most of the year and not dealing with snow Lindsay: i like Fall the most cuz like its blend of i guess i embrace the basic bitch stereo types of fall , want my pumpkin spice latee but ALSO i know halloween is coming and ive said before how THAT'S like my religious holiday so like… i come alive. Matt: probably fall , maybe winter. I don't go out much but fall is like the right amount of cool but not TOO cool. Jeremy: over the weekend me and kat went to a town called rockfort (i think?) which is like right on the ocean , the weather was a little cold for it , like 50 maybe and the sea breeze made it chillier… im not really a beach person just more water. You say beach and you think  like Boogie Boarding Bros (Michael: whoooaah boogie. Lindsay: beach volleyball) yeah .. id reather be on a rocky shore than a sandy beach. Michael: youd rather be like a mermaid sitting on the rocks *jeremy laughs loud* is that what you're saying Jeremy: yeah Matt: attracting sailors to their DOOM Lindsay: i gotta send you a link but theres this one TikTokker i guess that i watch that talks about that an eastern european beach she went to and was like “i cant wait to go on my beach outting yeah!” and she gets there its rocky , really windy , noones there and goes “ooh its really cold” Matt: depends the kind of beach to me… for me East Coast beaches SUCK *jeremy nods yep* its water you cant see anything in its terrible Lindsay: that's also texas beaches , all brown. Matt: its just one of those things where you get in the water and your like “ok… at anymoment i could be attacked by everything around me”  Michael: well that can happen on land too matt (Gen Notes WELCOHME TA JOISEY!!!) (paraphrasing jeremy here) Jeremy: theres this guy who flys a drone out over beaches into the ocean , and he released the footage… apparently due to there being a lot less people now theres just Great White Sharks that go relatively close to beaches now… there are times where hes filming people playing and like 10 ft away is a fucking shark ya know just swimming. And cuz they're really far away hed be like “id see it , film it , then go to a lifeguard and show it like “oh btw…” “ Michael: so you know 2 hours ago someone may have been eaten. MattL he should put a speaker on the drone to like announce the sharks like HEY! DEATH OUT THERE!. Lindsay: “whats that Dronie? Theres a shark in the water?!?” Jeremy: and it was funny seeing that behavior where everyonce and a while a shark would be swimming then someone would do something near it not seeing the shark and the shark just goes “fuck dat” and swims away MattL god dude…. So close to death *gus joins* Lindsay: oh you're the guy who was like Texas beaches have Tar Gus: oh yeah i grew up in texas and i thought all beaches were like that just “oh you don't sit on the tar”

kazumaji ❤️ SFW 7 NSFW 5 Thaaaaaanks
Hey friend! Happy to supply! (Ask box still open. List here. Other replies here.)
SFW 7
Would they go to the beach?
I mean, Kiryu lives on the beach half the time, so... yeah, I think, absolutely. Even just for fun. It can be semi-dangerous going shirtless for them when not in the heart of Kamurocho, but, on the other hand, do you want to pick a fight with the Mad Dog and the Dragon of Dojima? If you know enough to know yakuza tattoos, then you’re probably gonna stay the hell away from two middle aged dads just having fun with their kids.
Because they would go with Kiryu’s cloud of children most of the time. Two lifeguards are better than one, after all. Not sure where Kiryu or Majima learned to swim, but it would be very stupid to move to a tiny island without knowing how to swim, so we’ll assume Kiryu was not operating with half a brain cell when he made this decision. And Majima knows all kinds of shit he has no right to.
But there’s also the odd private, romantic beach day where Majima just wants an excuse to stare at Kiryu’s muscles dotted with ocean spray. And make him rub lotion on him. The day Majima finds a nude beach is a dangerous day for Kiryu, but this is fast becoming a NSFW answer. (But c’mon... “I HAVE to take my trunks off, my whole tattoo has to be lotioned!” “...we could do that at home though?” “You’re missing the point of Beach Day Kiryu-chan!”)
NSFW 5
Favourite positions?
Ohhhh, now there’s a question.
Majima is a dyed in the wool bottom and don’t let anyone tell you different. Oh, he can top and will gladly do so if asked, but there is a marked difference between his enjoyment of fucking someone and getting fucked. That is a man who needs a dick like he needs a second eye. I’m so sorry. So any position where he’s taking it is his favorite position. Doggy style is good because it’s just so rough and raw, Kiryu can really pound into him that way. The only downside is he can’t actually see Kiryu this way and that’s a bit of a bummer. So he’s always struggling between his desire to not be able to walk the next day and wanting to watch Kiryu come. And it’s not like he can’t be fucked into paralysis in other positions too, Kiryu is definitely one to follow orders, so.
So Majima also likes a good old fashioned missionary from time to time, it’s relaxing and if he or Kiryu is in an especially gentle or tender mood, this is the go-to. But there are bonus points for any position where he gets to feel how strong Kiryu is, any position where Kiryu is carrying him, where he’s using his force on Majima, that also really does it for him. His real, true, actual kink is exhaustion. He wants to be fucked into the ground and then some, fucked until he can’t move, can’t think. It doesn’t necessarily need to be endless, but it does have to push him to his limits in one way or another. So Kiryu has had a hard learning curve on sex keeping up with Majima’s inventive demands. Majima can confirm he passes with flying colors though.
For Kiryu’s part, he never knew how delightful it was to dominate someone until he fucked Majima and... Kiryu is pretty much ruined for it now. Majima’s spoiled him with all his whining and whimpering and begging and babbling. You try not utterly devouring the man when he’s begging you to destroy him. Sometimes it scares Kiryu how badly he wants Majima, how much he enjoys this, but Majima is always so pleased it’s hard to think there’s anything to be worried about.
So Kiryu delights in the business of fucking Majima into any surface he wishes and isn’t particularly picky himself about how it gets done. But if he had to choose, he’d probably say doggy style as he knows just how much Majima enjoys it and it’s easier to fuck Majima into next Tuesday if Majima isn’t directly looking at him the whole time. He doesn’t get stage fright per se, but he does get shy about it being obvious how much he likes this too. He’s also, actually, a big big fan of Majima sucking him off. It lacks the feeling of partnership that penetration has, but Majima’s mouth is just so tender and talented, Kiryu longs for the sweetness of it sometimes. It’s just nice to be taken care of once in awhile.
And on that note, on occasion, Majima will fuck him. Majima does believe in sharing and doesn’t want to hog the joy of being filled all to himself. He’s never as rough with Kiryu as Kiryu is with him, it doesn’t really do the same thing for Kiryu. So usually Kiryu’s riding him when that happens, with him offering little nudges and encouragements. And he can’t complain, Kiryu’s awful pretty perched on his cock, all tense and screwed up with pleasure.
And we’d best not talk about all the rushed, impromptu, semi-public sex that happens more frequently than Kiryu wants to remember. Majima has not one fuck to give about that though. (And Kiryu isn’t as mad as he desperately wishes he was.)

Can't Keep Pretending
Side Drabble III
Joyce doesn't know how, exactly, she acquired two more teenage boys to care so much about, it just kind of happened.
The Upside Down had chewed all of them up, spit them back out and left them to pick up their own pieces. And it was harder for some than it was for others.
Most of them had family, friends to lean on.
But not all of them.
There was a cloud of loneliness following after Steve Harrington. Maybe the other kids didn't see it, didn't know what it was, but she did. When she asked Jonathan about it, he'd told her Steve's parents basically lived in a condo in Chicago and only came home one weekend a month.
It was obvious from the very beginning that he longed for connection, was eager for affection, and it broke her heart.
So with Steve it had been easy.
There was no real hesitation when she offered comfort, told him he always had a place here with them. It's not good for him to be alone all the time.
He'd accepted her offer immediately, even with his history with her son. It was like none of it mattered. They'd all been through hell who cares who is dating who. He was just grateful that someone noticed his loneliness.
Steve was easy for her to approach and get through to.
But Billy Hargrove was a different story entirely.
Joyce is under no delusions when it comes to the boy. He'd done some awful things, even before getting possessed, but he's still a kid. He deserves a second chance like everyone else.
And it only took watching him interact with the others, watching him react to Hop's presence to realize what plagued him, what caused his violence before. She'd seen the slight changes in his facial features, could see him flinch or back away from any quick movements that he wasn't prepared for.
She'd seen these behaviors before. In herself, in Jonathan, and it makes her angry, so angry that she confronts Hopper about it one night after they all leave. Did he know? Was he aware of what was happening?
He was. He told her he knew exactly what was going on, that he was working on a legal way to intervene. But that's not enough, Hop.
I know.
She thinks maybe she can help in a different way, show him that not everyone will hurt him. That there are people that care. But he wouldn't let her get anywhere near him so she has to keep an eye on him from afar.
At first she thought he was afraid of her, which threw her for a loop because unless you're a threat to her kids, she's practically harmless. So she paid closer attention, looked over the wall he's struggling to rebuild. The one from before.
He wouldn't let her near him.
So she'd asked Max a few questions, but all the girl knew was that Billy's mom left when he was ten and never came back. But as horrible as that was, she had a feeling that it wasn't abandonment issues that caused him to shy away from her.
She just didn't know what it was.
Then one night Will made a comment about him being a lifeguard at the pool that summer, and Mike responded by making a face, yeah, and totally flirted with my mom.
Lucas had jumped in at that point. Dude, get over it. He flirted with everyone's mom.
Max agreed. Yeah, pretty sure Mrs Grant even slipped him her number one time.
The kids were talking about it like it was all a joke, and to them it was, but...things started making a little more sense to Joyce.
Billy's mom had left him. Left him with an abusive father. He got hit on by older women, moms, and he even flirted back with them, maybe even came onto them first. It all makes her a little queasy because he was seventeen that summer. He's was a kid, still is a kid. And these women, Karen for Christ's sake, should know better.
And she can't help but think that maybe this had happened back in California too and that maybe, maybe one of them, someone's mom, took advantage.
It would have been almost too easy to do. He's a good looking kid and if he had gone looking to fill a void, well…she can imagine exactly what he'd found.
So now she doubts that he is afraid of her, but she's pretty damn sure that he doesn't trust her. And she doesn't blame him. He's been through a lot, more than any of them really.
He's the only one with visual physical proof of the Upside Down marked across his body.
She hurts for him.
Wants to help him.
But she knows she has to wait until he's less cagey, less flightly. Has to wait until he's not jerking away whenever she gets close or hiding behind Steve when they're all crowded in the house.
If he starts to get more comfortable, more at ease with them all, maybe then she'll be able to get through to him.
But until then, she'll wait.

Warnings- swearing, mentions of sex, eventual smut
Word Count - 1.6k
Tumblr media
A faint knock wakes you from the pile on the floor. You fell asleep during the campaign the night before, not remembering how you got a blanket and pillow.
“Come in!” You sit up and stretch, the stiffness leaving your body a little bit at a time. You notice Holly coming down the stairs and you smile at her.
“Mommy told me to get you up so we can go to the pool.” The heat in the basement starts getting to you so you stand up a little too fast.
“Okay, tell her I’ll be ready in 5 minutes.” You smile, holding up your hand for her to mimic. She runs upstairs and closes the door for you so you can get into your swimsuit. The simple black one piece with cherries catches your eye and you quickly slip it on along with a coverup on top and your flip flops.
The smell of eggs drifts through the air as you make it into the kitchen to see everyone at the table.
“Morning everyone!” After the several mumbles of morning you find a seat next to Mike and you smile at him.
“Hey Mike, where did that blanket and pillow come from?” He looks confused at you first before realizing what you’re talking about.
“Oh, you fell asleep so Dustin wanted to make sure you were comfortable.”
“Aw, well today you tell him thank you.”
The hot air and burning sun almost makes you not want to leave the air conditioned car, but of course the pool will feel amazing. Getting there, you feel a few eyes staring.
“Don’t worry, it’s probably because you’re a newish face.” Karen rubs the strap of you coverup and you smile at her. Once Karen finds her friends and Holly finds hers as well you decide to find a seat and lounge for a little while listening to your Walkman play Madonna.
“Looking good (y/n)” A deep recognizable voice says, making you look above your sunglasses.
“Whatever Billy” He winks before going on his stand, which just so happens to be next to your seat. A nap consumes you, ignoring his smirks and winks.
Once you wake up you pause your music, deciding to get a snack from concessions.
“Aunt Karen where’s my wallet?”
“Oh it’s right in this bag hun.” She says, not even looking at you. You turn your head to see who she’s staring at before realizing it’s Billy. With rolled eyes, you grab your wallet and head to concessions.
“Hi ma’am, what may I get for you?”
“Hi can I get a Pepsi-cola and Twizzlers?”
“I’m sorry, we only have Coke products. I can get you a slushee instead?”
“That works, I’m not drinking that gross ‘new’ coke.” The girl smiles at you in agreement before adding up your total.
“That’ll be 3 dollars.” Before you can hand her your card, someone throws three dollars on the table from behind you.
“I can pay for my own stuff.” When turning around, you realize it’s that same curly headed boy.
“A pretty lady shouldn’t have to pay for her candy.” With rolled eyes you give him his money back and hand the girl your card again.
“I’m sorry, we only take cash.” She looks empathetic as you deal with the boy behind you.
“Fine Hargrove you can pay, but I’ll pay you back.” The space between you two is almost nonexistent as he smirks.
“I know a way...” he looks down at your lips before biting his own.
“Calm down, I’m not blowing you off.” And on that note you take your candy and slushee and leave to relax back in your seat. Relief washes over you as a female lifeguard takes Billy’s place on the stand as you drink your frozen drink. Talking heads starts playing in your ears and you bob your head along, the lyrics silently leaving your lips.
After finishing the slushee, you throw it away and take your sunglasses off while wincing from the bright sun. You dive into the cool water, reaching the surface to push the hair out of your face before swimming around on your back.
“A show already? It’s not even my shift yet.” The voice of Billy brings you out of the daydreaming in your head and makes you sit up straight while still floating.
“Who said the show was for you?” The smirk and lip bite almost makes you blush as his eyes rake down to the water, trying to see underneath while you keep yourself afloat.
“Sweetheart who else would it be for?” Just when he finishes his sentence there’s a familiar mop of brunette coming up behind him.
“Ayy (Y/n/n), The party said you’d be here today so I thought I’d come hang out after my shift!” Your eyes go back to the piercing blue ones annoyed with Steve’s entrance and you smirk.
“Hey Harrington, hope you got your trunks on because I need someone to teach me some new swimming techniques.”
“You know I could teach you if you’d like. I know all the styles. Freestyle, butterfly...breaststroke.” He glances at your chest before winking, making Steve audibly gag.
“Dude she obviously is trying to get rid of you, leave her alone.”
“Oh what is she your girl Harrington?” Billy stands tall against Steve, trying to intimidate him.
“N-no, but she’s my friend and she asked for my help not yours.” Before Billy can answer with a snarky remark, the whistle blows indicating it’s his shift.
“This isn’t over Harrington.” Billy walks away before seeing a kid running and blowing his whistle.
“Oh my god thank you for saving me Steve!” He scratches the back of his neck while his cheeks tint the tiniest bit pink.
“Oh yeah, it’s nothing. Now where’s your stuff?”
“Next to big head himself” you roll your eyes before Steve jogs to put his shirt and small bag down next to yours and jumping in. He swims up to you and throws you across the pool making you giggle uncontrollably.
“Oh you are so dead Harrington.”
“Hey (y/n), it was nice to hang out today with you.” He smiles at you from the side of the pool, his feet moving in the water while he has his towel around his neck.
“It really was. I missed this.” You smile brightly at him while you lay your head on his lap, your body floating in front of you.
“I missed you...”
“Ditto”
Ditto. That’s all you could muster up the courage to say. Ditto. No ‘hey I missed you too’ no ‘I wish I never left’ just ditto. You stare up at the sky as the sun starts to set. Aunt Karen and Holly left three hours ago to make dinner and Steve is your ride home. No kids were there since it was late and the only other people were a few teenagers and the guards, making this moment between to friends pretty beautiful. Steve’s hand softly plays with the wet strands of your hair while you’re mesmerized but the beautiful stars starting to come out.
“Hey Harrington! The pool closes now. Pack up and get out of here!” Billy ruins the perfect moment with his annoyed barks.
“Hey Billy! Take that umbrella and shove it up your ass!” You yell back, getting a high five from Steve while he helps you out of the pool.
“You know Cherry, you sure got a mouth. It’s kinda hot.” You stare Billy in the eyes and fake gag, flipping him off while you grab your towel to and bag to go clean up.
“I’m gonna go get dressed and I’ll meet you in the parking lot.” Steve nods and goes to start the car to get the AC going for you.
“Need help (y/n)?” You get startled when you turn around to see Billy so close to you in the dressing room.
“Billy this is the girls’ dressing room get the fuck out.” You try to push him with all your strength but he doesn’t budge.
“Only if you let me take you on a date.” You contemplate how terrible one date could possibly be.
“Only one? Just one date?” He confirms for you and you sigh.
“Fine but I don’t kiss on the first date so I sure as hell don’t fuck. Now get out.” He kisses your cheek before winking and getting out of your hair. You strip from your wet swimsuit with a huff and throw on your sundress and underwear, wanting to leave the pool as fast as possible. Steve smiles from the driver side and it makes your face warm up. After finally getting in the car the quest to go home commences.
“Hey do you actually wanna spend the night? We can call Mrs. Wheeler at my house that way you won’t have to worry about waking anyone up.”
“Y-yeah sure that sounds fun.” He pokes your cheek making you both laugh as he pulls up to his house.
“Okay she said it’s fine.” You explain, walking into Steve’s room to see him holding some basketball shorts and a T-shirt.
“Thought you’d want some clean clothes.” A smile comes to your face as you thank him and take the clothes to the bathrooms
“You know, I missed when we would have sleepovers and sneak into the kitchen for snacks.” He says through the bathroom door as you slip the shorts on.
“Yeah, or when we would prank Jonathan.” You both giggle while you’re muffled by the shirt going over your head. You grab your clothes and open the door, smiling.
“Alright (y/n/n), let’s go to bed.”
A/n-hey y’all! I suffer from constant writers blocks so I’m sooo sorry it took literally months for a second part, I’ll try to update faster!!

The BH 90210 Rewrite. 1x04: The First Time
Tumblr media
Rewrite Masterlist
Read the previous episode here!
Song: With or Without You - U2 Spotify or Youtube
Chapter Summary: Tensions run high when old flames reunite.
Pairing: Brief Reader/Daniel (OMC who’s literally in like a paragraph total.) And what you’ve all been waiting for: the beginning of some Reader/Brandon.
Warnings: Swearing, mentions of sex, kissing, alcohol, asshole boyfriend, drunk reader, lots of platonic affection, jealousy, SO. MUCH. DRAMA.
My work is not to be reposted or edited without my expressed written consent. (Reblogging is fine and encouraged!!)
Word count: 4,500
A/N: This has to be one of my favorites episodes that I’ve written. The drama, the buildup to a romantic relationship, I love it. Tags are at the bottom, shoot me a message if you would like to be added! Next week we’ll be taking on 1x06: Higher Education!
“Where’s the snow, Eric? The leaves? That little nip in the air? Oh, right. Winter doesn’t exist here. There’s no fall, the leaves don’t even turn color! They’re just…brown. And not even a nice autumn brown but like a…gross sickly brown. And the air quality index? What the hell is that? You have to check something every morning to find out if it’s safe to breathe?!” You rant, and throw your hands in the air. There’s an air of playfulness behind your rant. “We’re in the middle of November and there’s a heat wave!”
“Chill out, Y/N/N. At least we’re not knee-deep in snow or coming inside with frostbite every day,” Your brother rolls his eyes as you sit on his egyptian cotton bed.
“But the snow, Eric-” You begin your rant again when you’re cut off by his door swinging open and your mother standing with the white cordless phone in her hand.
“It’s Daniel,” She says. Daniel?? Wisconsin Daniel?? You launch yourself at the phone and bolt into your room, holding the phone clutch at your ear.
“Daniel?” You ask urgently, shutting your white wooden door behind you with a click.
“Hey, sweetheart,” You can’t believe it’s him. He was one of the reasons you were so hellbound on staying in Madison. “Can’t wait to see you on Friday,” You can feel his smirk through the phone as he speaks.
“What?!”
“I’m flying in from Minneapolis on Friday morning,” You could die. Right then and there. Your boyfriend was coming. Well… sort of boyfriend. You broke up before you moved out of Wisconsin, deciding long distance wouldn’t have worked.
“Minneapolis? But Dane Regional flies direct,” You state, lying down onto your bed. You feel the soft pink pillows against your back. There’s a long hesitation.
“I’ll- I’ll explain when I get there, okay? Your parents even agreed to let me stay the weekend,” You grin at that. “It’s time, yeah?” Wait…time for- oh my god.
-
The next morning, you’re dashing into school with Brandon, until you spot Andrea.
“Hey, Andrea,” He begins, hand on her shoulder getting her attention, “Can you get someone to cover the football game for me against Beverly High on Saturday?”
“I thought you said it was supposed to be one of the biggest games of the year,” She replies.
“Well, it is, but uh something important came up. Right out of the blue, totally unexpected.”
Andrea turns to you, brushing Brandon off for now, “What do you need, Y/N?”
“I need to get out of the school elections report on Friday night,” You say, walking side by side with them.
“Alright… Do you guys have dates or something?” She laughs.
“Old girlfriend from Minneapolis,” Oh. So he does have a date… Cool.
“Oh, why didn’t you just say so? How long were you guys together?” She pries. Who cares? Not you. You don’t care at all. It wasn’t any of your business.
“A year,”
“And then…what happened?” She shrugs, trying to get him to go on. Oh, please don’t.
“We cut each other loose. I don’t believe in long distance relationships,” Makes sense. Valid point. Totally understandable. Good on you, Brandon.
“Oh, same here. My boyfriend’s coming in from Madison.”
“You have a boyfriend?” His head tilts, and they both turn to you.
“Yeah, from… Madison…” You trail off. You’re pretty sure you said that already.
“How long have you guys been together?” Brandon interrogates.
“A years and a half,” you begin, “But he’s not my boyfriend. We decided to be a little more open once I moved, y'know, see other people.” You look at their intrigued gazes. “You guys are really nosey, aren’t you?” You tease.
“I’m a journalist, I’m supposed to be,” Andrea quips before turning down the hall. You catch up with Brenda, Kelly, and Donna down the hall.
“You know what I haven’t been able to figure out ever since I’ve gotten here?” Brenda asks, “How could somebody so gorgeous be an Algebra teacher?” All four of you shift your gazes to the tall muscular man, standing at a classroom’s doorway. “I mean, it’s like he should be a lifeguard or a ski instructor or something!”
“Yeah, he should definitely be working outdoors,” Donna agrees.
“Or indoors,” You joke, raising an eyebrow. You all hush down giggles as the teacher walks over. “I gotta head to the robotics lab, see ya…” You start to walk off. “Good luck, Bren,” you wink.
-
You fumble with your screwdriver as Dylan holds the contraption still. You didn’t even like robotics, but it was the only thing that would fit into your schedule.
“You alright, Y/N/N? You’ve been a nervous wreck this whole class. What’s going on?” Dylan asks. You pause, setting down your screwdriver with a clank.
“My boyfriend’s coming to visit.” Your voice is completely flat as you speak.
“Boyfriend? What about… you know?” He implies, his hands brushing the metal table.
“I thought we agreed not to talk about it,” You whisper to him. “From Madison. Did I not tell you about him?” Your voice returns to normal volume, as to not raise suspicion.
“No, you didn’t.” He states, both of you maintaining intense eye contact as he looks down at you. “Well, he’s like, totally sexy, and SO smart… he like, reads and everything!” You joke, getting Dylan to break away from his intense gaze with a laugh. “He’s really cool, though. He’s sweet, totally gorgeous, loves old movies, classic books,” You really are excited to see him again. You smile fondly.
“Sounds pretentious…” You hear Brandon mumble. “My girlfriend is visiting too, she’s great.” He speaks up, rising from his chair across the room. Oh boy. Here we go again.
“See, the great thing about Sheryl is that not only is she beautiful, but she’s got this incredible personality. I haven’t met many girls out here yet that could even compare to her,” He strides over to you and Dylan, bringing his robotic parts and adjusting the wires. Shut up. Shut up shut up shut up. Please. You have the biggest urge to start banging your head against the table as you avoid both of their gazes. Dylan looks to you, and then looks at him.
“Brandon, I think your memory’s playing tricks on you. We have some major lookers at this school,” You could swear his eyes drift to you again, but you brush it off as you silently work on your part of the robot.
“Nah, but she’s more…real.” Yeah, sure. Whatever.
“Give me a break. She sleeps with you, of course you think she’s special,” Dylan jeers. Your hands tense, you set everything down.
“I didn’t say that!” Brandon argues.
“You mean she doesn’t sleep with you? Does she at least like, read” You suppress a laugh at him, rolling your eyes.
-
After class, you meet up with Dylan at the end of the hall. He stops you, putting his hands on your shoulders briefly.
“You should bring this guy around the Bel Age, I want to meet him,” He wiggles his eyebrows. What was he up to?
“I’ll think about it,” You respond, eyeing him up.
-
Your parents were out for the night, so it was just you, Daniel, and Eric.
You grab Daniel’s hand, leading him up the steps. Shame on your parents for leaving you alone, tsk tsk.
“It’s really good to see you again,” you smile and he gives you a chaste kiss.
“I really missed you,” He plays with the hem of your shirt.
Wait. Now? Yeah, okay.
You kiss him deeply as he leads you backwards onto your bed, his hands around your waist. He begins unbuttoning your shirt but stalls, pulling himself off of you hastily.
“About Minneapolis…” He begins. Really? Now? This is when he wants to do this? “My folks and I moved there not long after you moved down here.” You sense something taut in his voice.
“I… met a girl there.” Oh.
“You met a girl…” You repeat it back, nodding as the gears in your brain working to process this. A girl. Okay. You can deal with that. Girls are great.
“And…we kinda hit it off.” Oh. Cool. Wonderful. Perfect. You slowly move off of your bed, eyes slightly wide, jaw agape. You knew the words were coming but they hit you swiftly, like a punch in the gut.
“And…and that’s it. Right? You guys are great buddies? Friends?” A bottomless pit grew inside you as your eyes welled up. You felt like the ground was about to swallow you up, or at least you wanted it to.
“I had sex with her.” There’s the kicker. “Her name’s Sheryl, you’d really like her! I swear.” Was he really trying to give a sales pitch?? What the fuck. Brushing off how dumb your boyfriend was being and how awful you felt, you were more intrigued by something else.
“With a C or an S?” You button up your shirt, the bottomless pit becoming more of a…garbage fire. Your voice is cold and hard.
“Wh- An S, why?” Oh my god. Oh my god. Oh my GOD. You were going to be sick.
-
Everyone was in bed, Daniel was sleeping in one of four guest rooms, and you were staring at your ceiling. Do you tell Brandon? Do you let him carry on being grossly in love with her? Or do you tell him the truth, ultimately destroying him?
You grab the landline on your nightstand and dial his number, and then you check the clock. Midnight. Shit.
You hear him pick up, “Hello?”
“Don’t sleep with her.”
“What?”
“Trust me. Just…don’t,” You hang up abruptly. That might have been a huge mistake.
-
You sit at the restaurant connected to the Bel Age as you wait for Dylan, Brandon, and that other chick to get here. Daniel hasn’t said a word to you the entire time, and vice versa.
“Hey, Y/N/N,”
“Dylan,” You greet him. Sheryl and Brandon trail not far behind him.
“Y/N,” Brandon greets, a hard glaze to his voice.
“Brandon,” You match his tone.
“Sheryl?”
“Daniel?!”
“Do you guys know each other?” Brandon asks, eyebrows knitted together.
“We met at the airport!” Sheryl exclaims, a phony smile on her face. “So good to see you again!”
“Yeah…”
Brandon looks at you, then Sheryl, then Daniel.
“I’m going to the washroom. Something movie stars do, by the way,” he says, looking to Sheryl.
“I’ve gotta wash up too,” You join him.
“And I’ll help,” Daniel says. Brandon walks off to the bathroom while Daniel pulls you aside.
“Did you plan this?” He accuses, arms folded and brown hair disheveled after he runs his hands through it.
“I had no idea!” You argue, stopping in your tracks.
“Yeah, right. You’re being a major bitch, you know that?” He sneers, a low tone and a tightness in his voice. You shake your head, arms crossed. Where the hell did this come from?
“I’m not doing this with you right now,” you dismiss. He grabs your arm, and you flinch, surprised.
“Hey, back off, man!” A voice comes from behind you, and he immediately releases your arm.
“Dylam, it’s fine. I can handle it.”
“Go sit down, Y/N/N,” Dylan warns. You hesitantly sit at the table and watch as they talk. But unfortunately, they’re too far away for you to hear.
“If you put another hand on her again, you won’t be making it back to Wisconsin, buddy.” He threatens, furrowed eyebrows. Both men storm back to the table, tension in the air.
“Oh, Dylan told me how he knows how to get us into this great club tonight,” Sheryl fawns.
“Great,” Brandon gives a lackluster smile.
-
Dylan pulls up his Porsche into the Walsh’s driveway as the engine hums. Brandon and Brenda plus Sheryl run out of the house. Sheryl stops dead in her tracks as she sees the speedster. You hop out of the passengers seat and walk onto the drive way, the heels of your shoes clicking.
“What a cool car!”
“Yeah, it’s alright,” He dismisses
“Can I get in?” She enthuses.
“Come on, Sheryl, we’ve gotta drop Brenda off,” Brandon calls out, sister at his side.
“Mind if I ride with Dylan?”
Brandon hesitates. “Sure, if that’s what you want.” What’s with her?
“I mean, when am I ever gonna get a chance to ride in a Porsche again?”
“Actually, Sheryl, Y/N was going to-” Dylan begins.
“I was just about to hop into Brandon’s car anyway,” You cut him off.
“Are you sure?”
“If it’s alright with Brandon,” You add.
“Yeah, it’s alright with me,” He nods.
“Brandon, could you possibly move a little slower?” Brenda pipes in, sarcasm lacing her tongue.
Brandon watches as Sheryl and Dylan drive off, an exasperated look on his face.
-
“Is it just me or is Sheryl acting a little weird today?” Brandon puts the car in park, his voice low.
“I don’t know. She seems the same to me… I thought you guys were having a good time?” Brenda replies.
“We are, we are. It’s just… she’s so into this whole Beverly Hills thing– The houses, the stores, the cars.”
“You mean like Dylan’s car?” You lean up from the backseat. How did you get stuck with the backseat again?
“Yeah. Kind of…” He sighs, “Didn’t she seem a little too enthusiastic about getting a ride from him tonight?”
“Well, take a look at the option,” Brenda smirks.
“Obviously she doesn’t like me for my car. Dylan didn’t seem too unhappy about the idea either,”
“Brandon, he’s your friend. Our friend. He wouldn’t hit on your girlfriend,” You try to ease his mind.
“I guess you’re right…but they’re just acting a little weird, that’s all,” He says. Brenda hops out of the car as soon as he stops, racing over to the front door.
It’s dead silent on the way to the club, your thoughts are churning out faster than you could process. You had so much you wanted to tell him, but nothing felt right. So, you blurt out the first thing that comes to mind.
“Did you sleep with her?”
“What?” Nice going, Y/N/N.
“…Did you sleep with her?” Can’t back out now, I guess.
“No… I didn’t. Your call really freaked me out last night, what was that even about, anyway?”
“Just trust me, okay?” You huff, “You having a virginity pact with Sheryl or whatever it was…wasn’t a good idea.”
“Look, it’s none of your business, alright?!”
“It’s my business when she’s sleeping with my boyfriend!”
His face drops and he falls silent, grip going lax on the steering wheel. You peek at his face, guilt suddenly dipping you apart. He laughs sourly, head shaking.
“I should’ve known.”
“You couldn’t have.”
“I knew that guy was no good. He treats you like garbage, he sleeps with you, he sleeps with Sheryl. Is nothing off limits to him?”
You don’t answer, deciding it’s best to let him simmer down. Besides, you were almost to the club and didn’t want to feel any worse than you did right now.
Boy, this was sure to be fun, huh?
-
You and Brandon march out of the car and over to the entrance of Contact, crowds of arguing people lined up at the front. You watch as Brandon goes to the other side of the rope, simply stepping over it. The guard goes to reprimand him, but starts to lose control of the line. You hop over the rope yourself when Brandon grabs your hand, racing both of you into the club. It’s a total sensory overload– Loud pop music, flashing lights, people drinking and dancing.
But you spot two people in the middle of the crowd. The girl’s arms around the guy’s neck as they sway to the pumping pop. You were going to kill Dylan… if Brandon didn’t get to him first. He bolts down the stairs, making his way over to his friends. You follow him hoping to stop him before he gets to them, but it’s too late as he speaks to Dylan with a loud, sharp “Hey.”
Well… that’s your cue to leave. You can’t stand to be in the middle of the Brandon/Dylan throwdown right now. You just need a drink. You’ll go over there if things turn bad. Ordering a few shots of whatever Patron was, you turn your back to the bar– looking to see any signs of a brawl, a murder, anything that could signal that things went south. The bartender hands you your shot glasses and you throw them back, a sharp burning in your throat. What you didn’t expect tonight was for alcohol to be so majorly disgusting. Wow. You’re never doing that again.
You watch the crowd groan and pause, while Sheryl runs out. Pushing your way into the dance floor you spot Dylan on the ground holding his face. Okay, maybe Brandon was the asshole tonight. Dylan rises to his feet, grabbing B by the shirt.
“You better figure out who your friends are,” He spits out. You bulldoze your way closer as Dylan pushes him away. Brandon storms over to Sheryl.
“What the hell is the matter with you?” You call out.
“What’s the matter with me? I think you’re talking to the wrong guy here, Y/N/N,” He replies, tone bitter.
“Why couldn’t you just leave Sheryl alone?! You could probably date any girl in school and you chose the one dating your best friend?!”
“I didn’t choose anything! She hit on me!”
“You weren’t exactly pushing her away!”
“Look… I don’t know what your problem is, but I have no interest in Brandon’s girlfriend!”
“My problem?! My problem–” You cut yourself off, take a deep breath and begin again, putting your hand up in front of yourself, “I don’t want to do this right now.”
“Y/N–”
You do a 180, ignoring him, walking over to the bar where your livid crush stands. You step next to him, hand resting on the bar in front of him.
“Brandon, get it together. Do you think I’m super happy about Sheryl and Daniel? Do you think I’m thrilled she’s managed to hit on every guy I know? No. But I’m not over there punching Dylan, or Sheryl, or anyone for that matter because things happen! Things that are out of my control. Dealing with these things is our only option if we expect to make it out of this alive,”
You take a breath, “I’m majorly bummed, my love life is a mess, and my boyfriend is on a flight back to Minneapolis. But you know what? I’m going to deal with it. And so are you. We’re going to take our issues head on, because we have no other choice. So you’re going to go talk things out with Sheryl, and I’m going to try to find a drink that doesn’t taste like vomit.”
“Y/N, I don’t think–”
“No, Walsh. Go. Talk,” You demand. Man, you’re bossy when you drink. You kinda like it.
You lock eyes and his gaze softens.
“Fine,” He sighs, “You’re right, I should to go talk to her.”
“I know I am,” You tease. “Now, go, before it’s too late.” He gently taps your hand that’s resting on the bar and kisses your head before walking off.
You sigh, beckoning the bartender over to order a fruity cocktail.
🎵
You’re lying down on a cold wooden bench outside of the Bel Age, your head spinning and your heart… confused. You meant to go up to Dylan’s room 20 minutes ago, before the insane dizziness kicked in and you had to sit down. Maybe 3 drinks was too much.
You slowly stand up, keeping your balance by holding onto the seat before you start to hobble into the hotel.
Stumbling over to room 201, you knock on the door. Again, and again, and again. You sit against the wall, giving up, You couldn’t go home like this. You’d be grounded for life. But you couldn’t leave, either. You spent all the cash in your purse on the taxi there. You sigh, exasperatedly. Clearly, this was the worst day of your entire life. Or at least you thought so at the moment. You hang your head, sitting there– weepy, inebriated, and alone. Until a voice comes from down the hall.
“What the hell are you doin’, Y/N/N?” Dylan saunters over, hands in the pockets of his jeans.
“You weren’t home,” you arm slings up, pointing to the door behind you. He slowly sits down next to you, resting his arms onto his knees.
“I live in 211…You’re at 201,”
You groan lightly, letting the back of your head hit the wall. He could smell the alcohol on you from a mile away. He looks at your glazed-over eyes and exhales.
“Brandon and Sheryl are in my room, talking. I don’t know what you said to him… but it worked,”
“Great,” you sigh. “Her being here as been so fun, can’t wait to see what’s next.” Dylan could sense the beginning of your drunk ramblings. “You know, when I told my friends I was moving they just…dropped me. Without a second thought. I didn’t have anyone… but I had Daniel,” He watches you carefully. “He was my constant… and then Sheryl gets here. Now I don’t have Daniel… or Brandon. I probably won’t even have you pretty soon and it’s–” you feel your eyes start to tear up, “it’s… scaring me a little, I guess.”
“You have me,” He’s soft when he speaks, yet stern, demanding. He looks at you, studying your features while you look at your feet. “And if you knew the things I knew, you’d know Brandon’s not going anywhere either… but you’ll always have me.”
“You don’t know that,”
“I do know that,”
“No, Dylan… You don’t,”
“Come on, just trust me here, okay?”
You sigh, pausing. “I should go home.” He brushes a loose hair behind your ear delicately.
“Stay… get some ice cream, hang out. Free room service,”
“Yeah, because last time I stayed here it went so well,” you bite back, half-joking.
“You can’t go home wasted, Y/N/N,” He shifts onto his feet, “Come on.” He holds out a hand, looking as deep into your eyes as you’ll let him. You sigh, grab it, and pull yourself up. Except, when you get up you trip over your feet and fall directly into Dylan. You mumble an apology as he catches you, one hand on your hip, the other on your back.
You look up at him when he looks down, noses bumping together. You stand like that for a moment, (mostly because you’re worried you can’t keep yourself up, to be honest.) You feel his breath, his hands. You can’t bring yourself to move, and neither can he. Maybe it was the alcohol, maybe it was him but whatever it was was making your head spin.
The sound of an opening door spooks you and you break away as if you had been caught committing a crime, or doing something you knew you weren’t supposed to be.
“Yo Dylan!” Footsteps approach you both. “I’m gonna order in some ice cream, you should join.” You stepped behind Dylan, trying to avoid Brandon seeing you in your inebriated state.
“Be right in,” He nods. You hear the door click shut, and you sigh. He places a reassuring hand on your back, “You should come, sober up.”
You sigh in defeat, you knew one way or another you were going to end up in that hotel room.
“Yeah… alright,”
🎵
Three bowls. Three bowls of mint chip ice cream. Three bowls, copious bottles of water shoved down your throat by both Brandon and Dylan, and a little bit of healing along side it. Sheryl had left during bowl two, so now you’re laying down on the couch, your feet on Brandon’s lap. Dylan’s curled up in the rocking chair, all three of you overfed but feeling alright given the chaotic night.
“I really gotta motor,” You sit up, “I told my parents I’d be back by midnight.”
“I’ll drive you, there might not be many cabs this late,” Brandon offers.
“Alright.. I’ll meet you out front, Bran. I’m gonna talk to Dylan first, okay?” He gives you a soft “Alright,” before placing a kiss to your head and walking out.
“Thanks for… everything tonight. I really needed it,” You walk over to his chair and he stands up, meeting you at eye level.
“Hey, anytime. If you ever need a place to get sobered up again, you have me.”
You pull him into a long, comfortable, sleepy hug.
-
It’s a silent but peaceful ride home, both of you wading in the aftermath of the night. You place your hand down on the center console, your other hand brushing through your hair as you listen to the crickets outside. Brandon wordlessly sets his hand on top of yours, thumb rubbing the backside of your hand delicately, tenderly.
“How are you feeling?” He asks, breaking the comfortable silence for the first time that night. “I’m sorry about Daniel,” His face is lit up by the moonlight and the occasional streetlight. “And I’m sorry I wasn’t here for you these past few days.” He’s got a glint in his eye, sweet with a little bit of sorry. He looked at you like he looked at no one else. Sheryl saw it, Daniel saw it. Dylan saw it, too. Brandon had no idea he was doing it, and you? You were too busy avoiding his gaze, worried that you would get caught staring at him when he wasn’t looking.
“I get it, things have been pretty crazy with Sheryl and Daniel here…”
“Look, I care about you, Y/N. I don’t want you to think I’m leaving you out in the cold whenever Sheryl comes around,”
He slows down to your street, and you’re not sure what exactly clicks in your mind.. but something snaps.
Pulling into your driveway, he turns his head to look at you, about to continue his monologue. But you decide to be bold– and cut him off, crashing your lips against his in a brief, nervewracking kiss, heart leaping out of your chest. You break away momentarily, until he kisses you again. His hand reaches behind your jaw, pushing you as close to him as you can get. It’s a deep, long, passionate kiss, enough to leave both of you breathless afterwards. Something about kissing him felt so right, like you’ve done it a thousand times before when it reality you’ve only ever thought about it. When it ends, you rest your foreheads on each other’s, the two of you quietly panting, giddy smiles to match.
“Goodnight, Brandon,”
“Goodnight, Y/N,” a quick kiss to the forehead is given to you before you hop out of Mondale and over to your house to settle in for the night.
-
It’s about 11 in the morning, and you’re walking up to the backyard of the Walsh’s, as Brandon promised tons and tons of food on account of his mom going to the farmers market the day earlier and y'know, maybe you could hang out or something. Brenda and Cindy redirected you to the backyard, letting you see Brandon one more time before you gauged yourself with so much California produce you exploded. You stepped into the yard, seeing Brandon out back with Jim. You approach as Jim gives a classic midwestern family lecture.
“…My father told me that someday I’d meet a girl who’d break my heart and then I’d meet one who wouldn’t. I told him he was crazy cause I’d never let a girl do that to me… but it happened. Twice, maybe three times. And then I met your mom,”
“Dad, Sheryl didn’t break my heart,” Brandon’s back is to you as he responds.
“The point is, that you’re not gonna know who the heartbreaker is and who the special one is right off the bat. It’s all gonna take time,” Jim bounces the basketball a few times before handing it to his son. “Hi, Y/N.”
“Hi, Mr. Walsh,” You reach them, giving a friendly smile. There’s a noticeable shift in the air when Brandon sees you.
“I’ll give you guys some time alone,” He mumbles, jogging back into the house without another word.
“Hi,” He smiles, bashfully.
“Hi.”

warnings: lotta smut, alcoholism
Your alarm jerked you awake at 7 am sharp, and when you shot up onto your elbows, the humidity of the morning air made your pillowcase stick to your cheek for a moment. Yuck. That's why you insisted on showering in the morning, since the sticky, hot air would make you sweat all night anyways. You popped your neck to release the tension that sleeping at a weird angle caused.
Mornings were so peaceful; if only you liked them. The air was a little thick, but the birds didn't seem to mind as they chirped and tweeted at the beautiful sun-shiny day.
"What craft are we doing this morning?" you grumbled to Kathia, another counselor who was getting up and stretching her arms. Of course you'd share a cabin with the biggest morning person you'd ever met.
"Leather crafts. Hammering designs into bracelets and luggage tags. Some of the older girls get to do belts since their hand eye coordination will help them finish quicker," Kathia explained, going into the sun salutation poses. The first morning you two had spent together, she claimed it's how she stayed flexible even after quitting cheer. You weren't sure how some yoga related to the strength to do flips, but she still impressed campers year after year with her refined tumbling skills.
"That doesn't seem too bad. You just have to make sure the little girls don't hammer their fingers into ground beef," you reasoned, getting out of bed and finding clothes to wear that day along with your shower caddy.
"Yeah, but it'll get boring after twenty minutes," Dani, your other cabinmate, complained. Dani hated mornings as much as Kathia loved them, and typically stayed in bed until the very last minute. It was quite common for her to show up to breakfast still in her pajamas, and sneak back into your cabin to change during the camp announcements.
"Not everything in life has to be wild and exciting, Dani," Kathia tsked while bent in half at the hips, with her head between her knees. "This camp is for the girls, not us."
"Kat is right," you agreed, pushing the screen door out to leave for the shower units. "Try to be in day clothes at breakfast, Dani, please?"
She barely made a noise before plopping back down into her pillow as the door swung behind you. You played some music on your phone, and the shuffle put on some old Arctic Monkeys. You tried to keep the volume low, since the camper cabins are not far from yours and you weren't exactly allowed to have phones around campers.
You hummed Knee Socks to yourself as you turned on the water, waiting for it to get warm. You'd gotten your shower routine down to a science, proving that the past few months of learning when to turn on the water and exactly which degree to turn the knob to for the ideal temperature had been worth it. Since you were the only person up and at 'em this morning you thought nothing of taking your musty t-shirt and shorts off, leaving you in your underwear in the shower units.
It wasn't the most exposed structure, since the whole thing was made of concrete. Concrete floor, concrete walls, concrete stalls between each shower and toilet. The only thing missing was a concrete ceiling, but it actually didn't have a ceiling at all; only a wire fence stretched over the top to keep out leaves and sticks from being blown into the showers. The toilets were covered by a tin roof, but if it rained during your shower, you were doubled soaked. And probably frozen.
Still waiting for the water heater to kick in, you danced along to the guitar solo in the song. You swayed your hips, banged your head, and spun around the concrete in your shower shoes until a big hand clasped over your mouth. You freaked the fuck out until the mystery person started shushing you and turned you around, revealing himself to be your boyfriend, Harry.
"Well, aren' you adorable. Dancin' around in your knickers to good ole Alex Turner. I quite like him m'self, but clearly not as much as you do," he teased, kissing your cheek and letting his hand fall off of your mouth.
"Shut up, you scared the hell out of me! What are you doing here anyways?" you asked, noticing how little he was actually dressed. He was only in red plaid boxers, looking honestly delicious with messy hair and still-tired puffy eyes.
His shoulders lifted to his cheeks and dropped. "Woke up a little earlier than my alarm and decided to surprise you."
You laughed hoarsely. "And surprise me you did. I nearly screamed."
"Well what 'm gonna do next is really gonna surprise you, then." Before you could ask when he meant by this, he grabbed you by the back of your head and yanked you into the shower you'd been warming up.
You gasped, choking on some shower water. "Harry! I'm in my underwear!" you sputtered stupidly, unsure of what to say.
"So what? Y'were gonna change into new ones anyways. We should make out," he decided, and frankly he was right. It was just water, and you should make out. It wasn't often that counselors had alone time, so you shrugged and tossed your arms around his neck and kissed his smiling mouth.
"Y/N? Are you up already?" a voice from outside the showers asked. You and Harry separated and you gasped softly when you realized the voice belonged to Cricket, the middle aged camp director who ruled with an iron fist.
"Uh, yeah!" you blurted, unsure of what to do. Harry awkwardly backed into the corner of the shower as you popped your head out of the curtain, trying to hide the fact that you still had a bra on. Cricket was brushing her teeth in the trough sink, orange hair pulled up out of her face into a bun.
"Morning, hon, I was heading back from getting the campers' mail and figured I'd brush my teeth real quick since I had my toiletries on me," she explained, wetting her toothbrush in the water.
You nodded and dove back into the shower to find Harry confusedly waving his arms around as if to ask what to do. There was no way to leave the shower units unnoticed until Cricket left, so Harry simply had to wait to make his escape.
You grinned. "Better finish this shower before I lose the hot water," you said aloud, as if you were talking to Cricket, but really you were playing a game with Harry. You popped the hooks on your bra open and shimmied your underwear down your legs, leaving you naked in front of your boyfriend.
"I know what you mean," Cricket responded around a toothbrush in her mouth. "You have to learn to love the cold water."
You seductively combed some shampoo through your hair before lathering yourself up with body wash, running your fingers over every square inch of your tanned body. Harry was watching in awe at this explicit dance you were performing for him, with the camp director not even fifteen feet away completely unaware of what was happening.
Soon you heard the sink shut off and Cricket spit out the toothpaste down the drain. "I'll see you at breakfast, Y/N dear!" she called before walking away.
When the crunch of the leaves under Cricket's footsteps subsided, Harry let out a breath. "You're a menace! How 'm I gonna walk back to m'cabin with a hard on like this?" he gestured to the obvious tent in his boxers.
You giggled, rinsing out the last of the shampoo in your hair and squeezing out the water. "Shame. You should've worn real pants. I think I can help you, though," you offered vaguely, making Harry perk up thinking about the possibility of a good morning handy. Instead, you twisted the shower knob all the way to the coldest setting and pointed it at the corner Harry was huddling into.
The shriek he unleashed when the freezing water touched his skin was unlike any other you had ever heard. You'd been a counselor at summer Camp Jalita for two years now and had heard the screams of girls who thought they were drowning, of girls who were actually drowning, girls who saw huge bugs and lizards and once an armadillo, girls who tripped and fell, and once a girl who thought her cabin was haunted because the wind was moving the canvas flaps that hung over the screens, but this one cry released by your grown ass boyfriend pierced your ears like a knife.
"Shhhh, quit it! We just avoided getting caught by Machiavelli herself and I don't want your sissy ass to get us busted now," you reprimanded, shutting off the water entirely so that the two of you could leave. You started to get dressed as he scampered away, with one less hard-on than he had five minutes ago.
Harry was one of two male counselors at your summer camp. The other male counselor was this nice, older gentleman named Paul, who was an expert at archery and taught classes to the campers. Harry was one of the lifeguards and taught swim lessons. The other counselors (all 15 or so), counselors-in-training, members of the general camp staff, and the director were women and had a certain responsibility, and it was expressly forbidden for a counselor to date other counselors, regardless of gender.
You were never clear on why this was a rule in the first place, but you couldn't have imagined it would be a problem when you applied to be a counselor a couple years ago. Until this summer, the camp had only hired Paul and female lifeguards, so the dating policy wasn't a problem for you. Then, one of the old lifeguards got engaged and then pregnant, they needed a replacement, and they hired Harry.
You met him at a meeting long before setting foot on the campgrounds that summer, in an air-conditioned office room in the city. It was almost as opposite from actual summer camp as one could get; the humidity controlled office, the hushed tones used, the blouses and slacks worn could never prepare a newcomer for what camp was like. Harry was the relaxed vibe in a building full of squares and you couldn't help but be attracted to him.
You were a little dazed the morning of that meeting, and accidentally followed Harry into a bathroom, not realizing that A) he wasn't a girl and B) that it was a solo bathroom that lacked stalls. When it dawned on you what you'd just done, you backed out of the room stammering out an apology, but Harry had thankfully found it much more amusing than embarrassing.
"I love the enthusiasm, darling, but I think I've got it from here m'self," he joked before closing the door. You were officially too mortified to pee and scampered back to the meeting room. Afterwards, he formally introduced himself as Harry and your relationship blossomed from there.
Except, again, dating was super duper not allowed. Cricket drilled it into your heads a million times during the meetings and during on-site orientation. But you and Harry persevered and had managed to sneak around the first five or six weeks of the summer without anyone catching on. It wasn't easy, but the two of you figured out ways to be subtly romantic and also found times to get busy.
As for being romantic, it was done in the fashion that anything you did for each other could be easily explained by normal events. Harry would leave you a beautiful wildflower on your pillow for you to find at the end of the day and you told your cabinmates you'd picked it yourself; you would slip a bag of his favorite kind of chip you'd swiped from the kitchen into his swim bag, and he acted like he'd known it was there the whole time. A few love letters here and there, some sneaking out at night to gaze at the beautiful stars, one too many joints shared at the riverbanks, and you had yourself a full-swinging summer romance.
As for getting it on... well, that took a bit more work. See, the cute little gifts and notes you leave for each other can be just in passing should one of you get caught. "Oh, did I drop that paper into Harry's bag? My mistake. No harm done, he's busy teaching little kids how to tread water." But sex, simply put, required both of you to be there. Two missing counselors to be accounted for rather than one.
Fortunately, there was one golden opportunity each week. New sets of campers and counselors-in-training cycled in week by week, arriving Sunday morning and departing the following Saturday evening, giving the counselors one night each week to themselves. The counselors were permitted to do whatever they wanted, so long as it wasn't dangerous or meant leaving the camp grounds.
So that gave you and Harry your time. You still weren't completely out of the woods, since the no-dating policy was still in effect even on counselor Saturdays, so the excuses for your locations basically got whackier and whackier throughout the summer. Once, you left the cabin at 10:30 pm, telling Dani and Kathia that you were going to find some glitter for an arts and crafts event you didn't have planned until Wednesday. By the time you got back with tangled hair and your underwear in your pocket, Kat was already asleep and Dani was too busy being high to even notice your return.
Harry was so passionate during sex. He was just naturally a really handsy guy and you chalked it up to him not being able to touch you at all during the day, but he was all over you when you were intimate. He kissed and bit and grabbed and stroked and pulled, anything to get a physical touch with you. It was always mind-blowing, and his giving-to-receiving ratio was unlike anyone else you'd met or had relations with.
He'd scampered out of your shower only minutes ago and you already missed him. You mozied your way back to your cabin where Kathia was also already dressed and Dani was practically dragging herself out of her bed.
"What was that scream from earlier? Did a camper see a snake or something?" Kat asked, sitting on her knees on your bed with two hair ties and a brush.
Dani plopped down on the bed in front of her, and you sat on the floor in front of Dani. The two girls behind you started braiding the hair of the girl in front of them, a system you three had been doing for weeks now. Kathia was too neurotic to wear her hair in any fashion other than a sleek ponytail and your fingers were too shaky and unskilled to properly French braid hair, thus the perfect set up was discovered.
You paused a little. Kat tended to be a bit of a rule-follower and you'd carefully kept the fact from even your cabin mates that you were dating Harry. "Nope, I just got in the shower a little too early and the cold water unlocked an ancestral scream from me." Not bad, you thought to yourself. You were never super great at holding a bluff... but you'd gotten better over the summer.
Kathia made a little noise. "Weird, you're usually pretty good at that." She breathed for a moment while braiding back Dani's wavy hair. "Oh, well. I guess it's a good way to wake up. What do you think they're gonna be serving for breakfast?"

After eating breakfast tacos, cleaning up the Great Hall where the camp eats every meal, and going over camp announcements, it was over to the art pavilion. You spent the day demonstrating wetting the leather, hammering in the designs, and chatting with your counselors-in-training about you were going to do later in the day.
Your group of girls this week consisted of ladies age 13-15, which was your personal favorite age group. They were too young to be edgy and mean, too old to be crybabies about everything that wasn't perfect or what they were used to, and they were really, really funny. And frankly, the more freedom you gave the girls, the more likely they were to listen to you. The camp understood this and gave the older girls the least strict schedule of all the campers. So long as you made it to each meal and were in bed at a godly hour, you were pretty much free to do whatever you wanted for the remaining time during the week.
"I was thinking of tubing," one of the CITs suggested. "When I put up the poles after fishing, I saw the storage unit was full of these industrial sized tubes. Wouldn't it be fun to float the river on our last day here?" she gushed.
"That's not a bad idea. I'd need to make sure no one is fishing today," you thought aloud, scratching your head and trying to avoid the braids becoming loose. It was finally Saturday and the campers were kind of bummed that they had to leave that evening anyways, so maybe this was just the thing to lift their spirits. "Oh, and I'd need a lifeguard." Your finger shot out towards the CIT who'd suggested it. "After crafts, you're excused to go find me a lifeguard to accompany us. We'll probably tube backwards since the river doesn't move super fast and we get less exercise if we just sit in a tube and float." The girls nodded together in agreement, excited that they now had an excuse to wear their cute bikinis they'd packed.
See, that's how you remained off the radar with Harry. If the CIT just happened to pick him for the tubing, that's nobody's fault except chance. If he'd been your first pick, some alarm bells were bound to go off in the heads of other counselors and CITs.
"Could we ask Kathia's group to join us?" another CIT asked. "They're the same age as us and I don't think they have any plans either."
"Great idea! Hand me the walkie so I can ring her up," you ordered, pointing to the walkie talkie on the table next to the first CIT. "Tubing party later today!" you announced to your campers, who also cheered at the fun final adventure.
When everyone was waiting down at the riverbanks later that day holding their big tubes, Harry strolled down wearing a tan fishing hat, bright orange swim trunks, and a ridiculous amount of white sunscreen slathered on his nose. Black sunglasses sat on the brim of his hat and a red whistle hung around his neck, resting daintily between his chest muscles. If the campers weren't so intimidated by his size and attractiveness, they probably would've laughed at him.
The group felt no need to waste time and immediately started their way up the river. Some girls sat in their tubes and paddled their way upstream, while some girls planned to drag another and switch off who got to sat in the tube. Kathia ran a timer on her watch to tell girls when to trade places. Harry carried one girl in his tube at a time and some campers were practically tripping over the river rocks to get to be the one H pulled. He played this game with some of the girls where he would yank the rope attached to the tube until it slipped out from under the camper and she dropped into the river. They would come up laughing and squealing until Kat reprimanded him.
"Aren't you supposed to be the lifeguard?" she prodded jokingly. "Some girl is gonna get a concussion from that."
Harry sighed. "All you do is nag, Kathia dear. That's why Y/N is my favorite counselor." He nodded his head over to the side where you were pulling a girl using a camp brochure as a fan. You stuck your tongue out.
Kat feigned being insulted. "Hey! You can't have a favorite counselor!"
"Relax," he waved a hand to deflect Kathia's words. "Watch this." Harry turned to the group of girls in tubes. "Raise your hand if Kathia is your favorite counselor." A majority of the hands shot up. "Raise your hand if Y/N is your favorite counselor." Another majority of hands lifted, and Harry winked to both of you. "Now... raise your hand if I'm your favorite counselor." Every single one of the hands raised, including yours, Kat's, and Harry's. He always was quite the narcissist. "See ladies? Favorite counselor isn't a person; it's a tier."
Your group finally reached the end of the tubing trip, since the point of the river furthest north was at the Great Hall and it was already in sight. Everyone started dragging their tubes out of the water to carry back to the storage unit. You put your tube in the unit last, and when you turned to go back to your group, Harry slapped your ass on the way out. He'd been holding the door and probably waited for the opportunity to do that. You tried to glare at him but he had such an excited grin you couldn't even pretend to stay mad at him.
By this point, the group was grouchy from either having to wash off the river water with a garden hose, excess sun exposure, or both, so Harry decided to cheer everyone up. "Hey, when everyone's changed and back from their cabins, how about we all have some ice cream?" he suggested when the group was huddled in their towels outside Great Hall, and their general mood instantly lifted. He leaned to you and whispered, "I bought a ton of weed from one of the cooks, so I get special food privileges. Gotta learn to network." He clicked his tongue and shot a finger gun at you, making you roll your eyes and laugh.

Saying goodbye to your campers each week was hard and didn't get easier no matter how long the summer went on. You got seven days of living with strangers and by the time they leave, they're like ten new sisters that you'll never see again. The campers would start to look up to you and they'd be just as bummed as you. If it weren't for their faces brightening when they saw their parents or older siblings arriving to pick them up, you'd think it wasn't worth it.
When the last girl was picked up, the sun was already setting. The lifeguards began slathering aloe vera on each other's shoulders, the cooks were lugging boxes of food for the week into the kitchen, and the remaining counselors were drawing broken toothpicks to see who got to use the washing machines first. You, however, were plotting your escape to Harry's cabin for that night.
When Dani and Kat weren't around to see, you kicked out a path leading up to your cabin so your feet wouldn't crunch the leaves. You sprayed a coat of sunscreen onto the spring that pulled the door shut so that it wouldn't creak. Some trial and error led you to learn that the humid air only allowed this to work for about 12 hours until the sunscreen melted off, so you did this as late as possible.
Harry also took some precautions. The frames that the mattresses sat on were super old and made a ton of noise when you two were, you know, on it, so he dragged it (with the sheets and blankets and pillows still on it) down to the ground. Concrete floors can't squeak when you're getting fucked into it. Fortunately, since he was a guy and the other lifeguards were girls, he got his own cabin to stay in, so cabin mates were one less factor to worry about on his end.
When you arrived at his cabin that night, you used your special knock that you two agreed on to eliminate Harry opening the door in his underwear when it was really Cricket or Paul or even worse, a lost camper. H opened the door wearing shorts that rode low on his hips and an unbuttoned Hawaiian shirt draped over his shoulders.
"Hey, princess," he murmured, pulling you into his cabin and kissing you.
"Morning, babe," you joked. "Has it been lonely waiting for me all by yourself?"
He took two steps backwards and sat back, landing with a thump on the mattress. His arms shot back and he balanced himself by leaning on his palms. "Terribly so. Almost thought you weren't comin'."
You followed him down onto the mattress. "As if I would skip out on this." Harry scooted back and you climbed over him, straddling his hips. You already could feel his semi pressing against your core-- only a few thin layers separated you two.
Even the slight pressure of him brushing up against your center had soft gasps slipping from your lips, and Harry's first two fingers slipped between them. "Haven't even done anything yet and 've already got you whimperin'. Don't think I'll ever get over how responsive yeh are."
You giggled, or at least as much as you could with two fingers in your mouth. Your eyes fluttered shut as your lips closed around him and you sucked gently, making him twitch beneath you.
"Oh, you're playing dirty tonigh'," he noted, pulling his hand from your lips and flipping you over so that you were below him. He pulled your shirt off and licked at your now-exposed nipples. A wandering hand of his discovered that you were soaking wet. "M'so glad you make it easy for me, pet." He flipped you onto your stomach and yanked your shorts down, giving him easy access to slip his cock into you.
Having sex only once a week made it difficult to stay accustomed to his size. He wasn't like, a monster or anything, but he was bigger than average and having cabin mates eliminated the option of touching yourself. So every week, when you and Harry got together, he had to re-fuck you open to handle his width.
Before the burn from the stretching had quite subsided, Harry let his carnal side out and started pounding into your mercilessly, assaulting your delicate and sensitive walls. His fingernails dug into the soft skin above your hips and his balls slapped your clit, stimulating you from the inside out.
"Someday, I'm gonna fuck yeh in private, and I won' have to cover y'mouth. I wanna hear every moan, whimper, and gasp I can get out of yeh," he punctuated his statement by bottoming out all the way, the head of his cock pressing against that spongy spot inside you, and your jaw dropped open. Harry, thankfully, was quick and had a hand smacked against your mouth before any noise slipped out. "Bet it sounds like heaven when you get fucked hard."
You were getting close to coming really fast. At this point, Harry had one arm snaked around the front of your body pulling you as close to his chest as he could, and the other hand was clasped around your mouth, forcing you to pant through your nose as he fucked you harder and faster. You clenched your walls around his pulsing cock and he moaned into your ear, and you finally hit your peak. Harry followed soon after, pulling out and painting your back with thick white ropes.
After you both came down from your highs, Harry got to work cleaning you off and helping you get redressed. As much as the two of you would love to spend the whole night talking and cuddling and, y'know, having more sex, it was imperative that you go back to your cabin before anyone could notice you were missing.
"Love the glow you've got," Harry mused, leaning against the cabin wall and looking down at you laying on the mattress. "You're the most beautiful woman I reckon 've ever seen."
You sat up, tucking your knees to your chest and covering your face with your fingers. "Making me blush. I love you, Harry, but I've gotta get back to my cabin." You checked your watch. "T minus eight hours until we get new campers, and I haven't slept a wink yet."
Harry smirked. "I'd apologize but I know yeh enjoyed it." You stood up to leave, leaving a fat smacking kiss on your boyfriend's cheek. "I love y'too, babe, get back t'bed safely."
And off into the night you went.

The departure of your campers was obviously immediately followed by a new set of bright young faces ready to have the most fun week of their summer. When new girls checked in, they were separated by which counselor would be responsible for them during the week, all of which waited on the courtyard right outside Great Hall. As each camper joined your group, they sat in a circle with you talking about themselves.
"Y/N? Do you mind speaking with me for a moment?" a voice behind you called. It was Sydney, a girl your age who was essentially Cricket's right hand man.
Sydney had blonde hair with a thick dark chunk of roots on her whole head. Her jaw was unnaturally square and nose turned up, looking like one of the wicked stepsisters. She stood with her arms crossed above her camp shirt, pinning her lanyard to her body.
You wobbled to stand up and bounced over to her. "What's up?"
Her eyes dropped to your shoes, a pair of light blue Chacos strapped over your feet. "You're not supposed to be wearing those. The camp rulebook says close-toed shoes only on campgrounds."
Your hands found your hips and you narrowed your eyes. "Really? You mean, the rulebook that pretty clearly states that only campers have to wear close-toed shoes." God, this was such a stupid thing to be arguing over. Didn't Sydney have better things to be worrying about?
"You should at least try to set a good example for your girls," Sydney seethed.
"Just like you're doing with that beer breath before it's even noon?" you bit, not in the mood for such a petty argument. If she wanted smoke, she'd get smoke. Her face contorted a little, but you shut her up before she could retaliate. "Yeah, I thought so. Let me deal with my girls as I see fit, and I'll leave you to yours. Oh wait! You were deemed not responsible enough so now you're a jealous lapdog. Mind your own, Syd."
You trudged away from her and rejoined your group where they were all chatting about new movies they were gonna see when camp ended. "Hey girls!" you started, sitting back down. "So, who would play you in a movie about your life?"

The week rolled along without making much of an impression until smack halfway in the middle of it, when the day was so violent it demanded it left an impact on you.
That Wednesday, the sun was over-the-top vicious. The members and attendees of your camp were no strangers to hot and humid weather, but when the first sunburn was reported at the modest hour of 10 am, nobody complained when Cricket ordered for minimal sun exposure and forbade swimming until the temperature cooled back down.
The lifeguards were bored silly since their number one purpose became obsolete. Two of the lifeguards opted out of taking up any new responsibility, and spent the day washing their laundry in the counselor's quarters, playing Super Smash Bros in the office building, and enjoying indoor weather wherever they could find it.
Harry was much too in love with the campers to shut himself in, however. He floated around the camp from group to group, joining in with the kids making crafts, cleaning up the campgrounds, and playing games. In fact, you didn't even see your wanderer boyfriend for most of the day anyways.
After lunch, everyone has a mandatory thirty minute "resting" time after eating. They claimed that it was to prevent campers getting stomach cramps while swimming or running around, but even as years went on and that myth was debunked, nobody really suggested the rule get thrown out since it was a half hour of just chilling and not having to work. (Plus today, one of the most sweltering of days, nobody was exactly itching to go run laps immediately after consuming tons of lasagna and garlic bread).
You were laying in bed during your rest hour, and most of your girls were in their cabins doing fuck-all. You chose to read, and picked one of your favorite books, The Duff.
Dani's girls were always really young, so she spent her rest hour getting her girls in bed for a nap. They were allowed a longer resting time since this was the time of day was the hottest (even on regular days when records weren't being broken), and them napping was better than them being out in the sun. Today, Kathia's group had the chore of cleaning up Great Hall after lunch, so you were in your cabin alone when someone knocked at the door.
"Come in," you called, and placed your book down holding your finger in the spot you left off at.
The door swung open to reveal one of your campers, a 13-year-old girl named Paige. "Hey, Y/N. I had a question." She stepped in and sat on one of the empty beds, pulling her Chaco-adorned feet up with her.
"Shoot."
"How mad would you be if we were out a little later than lights out tonight? We're older, so we're more responsible than the young girls, and we'll all be together so it's like ultra buddy system."
One of your eyebrows shot up. "Is that really what you're asking me?"
Suddenly the cabin door swung open, and Kathia entered. She yanked her ponytail out of its tie and immediately brushed it out with a comb, waving to Paige.
The camper sighed and dropped a dark piece of hair she'd been playing with. "Okay. I'll level with you. One of the girls in my cabin brought an iPad and never turned it in, and we wanna see if we can find the office's WiFi password to watch a music video that just came out."
You couldn't help but let out a laugh. "I have so much faith in the youth of today. When I was a camper here, I missed out on watching the music video for 5SOS's Amnesia."
Kathia chimed in. "I missed a Hoodie Allen concert with my friends. Not that I could've done anything about that."
"You liked Hoodie Allen?" you balked, making the blonde girl laugh and nod. "Anyways," you continued, turning back to Paige. "I'm proud of you guys solving problems together. What music video are you gonna watch, anyways?"
She looked down, almost embarrassedly. "Have you heard of Billie Eilish? It's one of hers."
"God, how old do you think I am?" you rolled your eyes. "But listen to me extremely carefully." Paige leaned in, gripping her ankle. "If you get caught, I'm 100% throwing you under the bus. Cricket will unleash hell upon you and your cabin, and I won't lose a blink of sleep over it. Am I clear? Do. Not. Get. Caught."
The camper nodded vigorously, jumped off the bed, saluted, and took off out of the cabin. Huh. You liked her style.
"I can't believe you let that slide," Kathia spoke up, plopping down onto her bed to enjoy what was left of her rest hour.
"Are you criticizing my parenting skills?" you asked, picking your book back up as Kat chuckled to herself and shook her head.
One problem with the camp was its lack of cell service. Even if you and Harry managed to check your phones without getting in trouble with camp staff, there isn't enough service for miles to communicate. So even now that you had an opportunity to see Harry tonight without disturbing your campers, the info would have to be relayed to him in person.
When your rest time finished up, you popped over to your girls' cabin and poked your head in.
"Hey ladies! I don't feel like planning out more stuff to do inside for the rest of the day. Does anyone object to just chilling in our cabins for an hour or so?" When this was met with silence, you continued, "Great! Will anyone back me up when I say one of my campers didn't feel well so we didn't plan any afternoon activities together?" Two girls raised their hands. "Our cup runneth over! Rock, paper, scissors for who gets to be my scapegoat and I'll catch y'all later!"
You practically skipped to Harry's cabin, but when you got close you slowed your roll to be conspicuous. You opened the door to find that he wasn't in there, so you made yourself at home on his bed, kicking your feet up on the bedpost and sniffing his pillow.
Your timing was golden, since H came back shortly after you got comfortable. "Well, I see you have no intention of moving," he noted, wiping sweat off his face with a white rag.
You sat up. "I'm not staying forever. Just wanted to let you know we should meet up tonight. Maybe... the abandoned cabins?"
Harry's head reared back a bit. The abandoned cabins were a grouping near the riverbanks that got destroyed in a flood. Fortunately, the flood happened when there were no camps in session, so no one was hurt. Some were rickety and damaged, some only had walls left, and some were nothing more than concrete slabs jutting out of the dirt. The bathroom structure was still standing but gutted, missing a roof and donning big padlocks on the toilet stall doors.
"Tha's a new spot. What made you think of it?" he questioned, grabbing a water bottle and taking a few drinks from it.
"Overheard a group at lunch talk about hiking near there and how eerie it was. I think sneaking around there would be exciting and... I don't know. Kind of sexy," you admitted, rolling your head to the side almost to hide your face.
"Now yeh're speaking my language," he chuckled, pointing a ringed finger at you. "I'll meet you tonight, then?"
"Yessir," you affirmed, jumping up to wrap your arms around his neck. "Did you have a fun day doing nothing?"
"Nothing?!" he cried, almost choking on his water. "I spent the whole day givin' girls piggy back rides. Being charming and fun and popular isn' always easy, Y/N." He kissed your forehead to show he was kidding, but you still rolled your eyes.
"You joke, but that kinda talk is in your nature, Styles," you poked, heading towards the door.
"'f tha's true, then you really can't be mad at me for it, huh?" A little dimple popped out at the corner of his smile and he held his arms out in a lazy shrug.
"Watch me," you winked, and shut the door behind you.
God, the rest of the day crawled on painfully. The indoor rule which stretched until just before dinner, and after dinner the whole rest of the day is automatically planned out through Taps, camp announcements, evening games, and lights-out. Your options when it came to activities were pretty limited, so you spent the remaining hours before the last meal letting the girls check out the library that was adjacent to the Great Hall. Of course, the books hadn't been updated since 1996 and the 14 inch TV didn't have any cables to plug into the walls, so that day honestly kinda sucked.
Your girls had good spirit, though, and honestly seemed kind of excited for their own risky night they planned ahead. You wondered which out of the set you got that week were going to sneak out and which ones were gonna stay back and hold down the fort. Paige seemed like exactly the type to stage this kind of rebellion. Whatever.
So that evening, you waited on your bed, wringing your hands in anticipation. Dani was exhausted from her long day wrangling kiddies, and Kathia was always in bed early anyways. Before you knew it, you were the only awake person left in your cabin and had to patiently wait to leave so that you wouldn't be waiting on Harry.
Even with your worrying, you still overshot your departure and were left to kill time before he got there. Which cabin would you two go in? Only two had a roof left, and one of them literally shifted in place when you pulled on the door handle. The alternative was totally missing screens over the windows, and they appeared to have been cut out with a knife. Weird.
You heard the crunch of the leaves Harry was stepping on before he had any opportunity to scare you, so you quietly called him over to your cabin of choice.
"Well, hello there, beautiful," H flirted when he got to you, pulling you into his arms and spinning the two of you around. "You come 'ere often?"
You squealed a little before he steadied you again. "No, actually, this is my first time. Care to show me around?"
"Nope," he responded. "Was a hike getting here. Let's sit." He plopped down to the concrete floor and pulled you onto his lap, lazily tossing an arm around your waist and pressing kisses to the spot where your neck met your shoulders.
That was a sensitive spot for you, and you let your head roll to expose more skin for Harry to kiss and your jaw hung open. His free hand snaked down into your shorts, petting around to get inside your underwear and feel your folds.
"Fuck," he groaned, "You're always ready for me. Are you always this ready to get fucked?" His fingers just barely dipped inside you, not even past the second knuckle.
You nodded, one hand flying back to grab his hair and pull on it. H always loved when you got a little rough with him despite your meek nature, and he moaned breathily as you tugged at his curls. He also shoved his fingers all the way inside you and hooked them to brush against your G spot. His calloused palm grinded against your clit and he bit at your jawline, ear, and neck.
The pumping motion of his fingers created this delicious wet noise, and that combined with the moans and gasps of you coming on his fingers did a great job of covering the footsteps of someone approaching the abandoned cabin.
Harry slipped his hand out of your shorts and brought his fingers up to your lips to suck them clean. You were just getting ready to hop off his lap and give him a quick blowie when you heard the unmistakeable crack of someone stepping on and breaking a branch.
You and Harry's heads snapped towards the outdoors and then back to each other, wordlessly deciding that it was time to get out of there and it was every man for himself.
Jumping up from the floor, you two simultaneously realize that the door was not an option and the only way out was through where the windows used to be. You scrambled over gracelessly (while Harry leaped, rolled on the ground, and took off like a bullet) due to your jelly legs and landed on your back in the leaves. Adrenaline made you shoot back standing, and you darted towards the faint sound of the running river.
In the dark, you struggled to find the path that ran alongside the river for the whole stretch of camp since you didn't have a phone or a flashlight to help you see. Eventually, the caliche-lined footway was under you and you slowly walked back to your cabin.
You were terrified, of course, but you didn't have any other choice. You'd never had a call that close before; how could this happen? Could someone else have known about your plan? If it were Cricket, she would've stopped the two of you, right?
Your legs were still pumping with adrenaline and carried you back to main camp in no time. You crept back into your cabin to find both of your roommates sleeping soundly.
Well. Guess there's nothing left to do but sleep and see what the next day would bring. You sure hoped Harry made it back safely as well.
The next morning, nobody acted weird. Kat did her stretches, Dani complained about having to teach elementary aged girls to tie-dye shirts later that day, the cooks barely paid attention to the girls they were giving food to, Harry merely shrugged to you when your eyes widened at him during breakfast, and the staff was just as boring and predictable as always. Nobody acted as if you or H were busted.
You decided to let yourself relax. Maybe it was one of the campers who went hiking near there the day before. Maybe they were looking for something and got lost. No harm, no foul. To ease your stressed mind, you told your group they were going to weave friendship bracelets that day. You hoped the repetitive and soothing motion would loosen the knot in your stomach.
Things were actually going quite great, until your walkie-talkie hissed alive. "Cricket to Y/N. Please come to my office A-S-A-P." Fuuuck.
You simply nodded to your CIT, who understood you had to go. The walk to the office was like heading to a slaughterhouse and you could barely even feel your legs. You imagined how badly this meeting could possibly go (which really wasn't a great idea. You were practically sweating buckets) and pushed the door to go inside.
The office building was a modest shack, with loud air conditioning and painted concrete floors and doors with that arm that shuts them behind you to keep the cool air from escaping. One half of the building was individual offices, while the other half was an open area with chairs, tables, and spare storage for decorations. Sydney sat at one of these tables and her nose wrinkled when she saw you.
Syd gestured to the hallway leading to the offices and you quietly opened the door to Cricket's office. The older redheaded woman glanced up from her computer and nodded at a chair, not saying anything for several moments after you sat down.
She finally took off her glasses and folded her hands on the desk. "Y/N, I needed to talk to you about something quite important that's come to my attention," Cricket began. Here it goes. Your stomach was already twisted up in fear.
Be cool, you thought to yourself. "Uh, what's going on?" you asked, just barely avoiding your voice cracking. You were sure your hands were still trembling, so you sat on them.
"We, at Jalita, greatly value our rules and regulations we've set in place for our counselors, as they directly reflect on the safety of our campers. A direct violation of these rules shows you just don't care about that safety." Man, Cricket was really laying into you. "This is, however, your first time breaking the rules..."
You couldn't keep it in anymore. "And I promise it'll be the last!" You weren't sure if saying that would do you any good at this point, but it had to be worth something to get that across.
"... I should hope so. I mean, letting your campers run around the grounds after lights out and take twenty-so cartons of orange juice?! Were they raised by wolves?" Wait. What? This is about the stupid orange juice cartons? You and Harry hadn't been caught? "You're quite lucky we accidentally over-ordered juice this month, and now our numbers even out, or you'd have some thirsty campers by the end of the summer."
So... Cricket was mad because your campers had stolen a bunch of OJ for their Billie Eilish watch party. You couldn't help but feel like Paige was behind this tomfoolery and were again intrigued by her style. You sucked a big breath in through your nose before speaking again. "I'm so sorry, Cricket. You're right. I-I should've kept a better eye on my campers and I won't let this happen again." Your hands folded in your lap, suddenly not shaking anymore.
"I'm very glad to hear that. And since, like I said, this is your first time getting in trouble, all's well that ends well. You're free to go, Miss Y/N. Don't let me see you in here again, but I will see you at the fireworks show tonight." Oh fuck, right, it was the Fourth of July and time for the annual fireworks show. Cricket slid her glasses back on her nose, pushed the sleeves of her cardigan up her forearms, and turned back to her laptop.
Thankful for your easy out and the opportunity to leave, you nodded curtly and bolted out the door and down the hallway, back in the office's main room. Sydney sat at a big table sorting sparklers into cups that would go on the tables during dinner before the fireworks show, and merely turned her nose up at you. The blast of the A/C unit felt like it was getting louder so you ran out the doors to the familiar heat and humidity.
The pressure was starting to crush you. Sneaking around, making out in closets, flirty notes, brief touches that left you wanting more, wanting more in general and not being able to have it, it was maddening! You wanted Harry, and you wanted all of him, and the summer wasn't over yet.
You knew that you probably should've gone back to your campers, but your CIT could handle them and you needed to see H. Where could he be? It was just before three o'clock, his last class of the day was the advanced class at 1:30, and it lasted an hour. Knowing Harry, he'd probably left immediately after to go take a shower and would be out by now, probably getting dressed in his room, so you went there first.
You threw open the door to his cabin without thinking to knock or otherwise announce yourself. Harry was in the middle of the room facing away from the door, one towel wrapped around his body riding dangerously low on his hips and another on his head to dry his hair. He spun around, shocked at the sudden intruder but quickly relaxed when he realized it was just you. "Hey, pet. I heard the radio, what did Cricket w--" he was cut off by you marching up and pulling him down to you for a kiss.
The chlorine smell lingered on his skin even after the shower, creeping up and burning your nose a little bit. The towel on his head fell to the floor as he grabbed your waist with damp hands. You popped off his mouth as quickly as you'd started, creating a juicy noise when you separated.
"We didn't get caught. Yet. She was chewing me out for something else I'd done." You plopped down onto his bed as he dropped the towel on his waist to put on boxers and shorts.
"Tha's good," he mumbled to himself as he pulled up his black shorts and tossed a hole-y t-shirt on. His hair was still dripping wet, but he just pushed it back out of his face before joining you on the bed.
"Yeah," you said emotionlessly and began picking at the threads of your white braided anklet.
Harry's eyebrows furrowed. "Wha's wrong? Figured yeh'd be leaping for joy at th'news." He grabbed the hand doing the picking and lifted it, softly kissing the knuckles.
"The pressure is killing me," you blurted all at once. "I'm so scared of getting in trouble, and I don't want to get kicked out of camp for this, but I really like you and I want to keep seeing you but holy shit I'm not used to this whole forbidden romance thing."
There was a moment of silence between the two of you before Harry let out an adorable giggle. "Oh, my God, tha' had to have been the cutest thing 've ever seen. You're such a doll." He leaned back on the palms of his hands amusedly, dimples popping out of his tanned cheeks.
"Not even you will take me seriously!" you cried, jumping up and heading to the door. Harry quickly followed you and grabbed your arm before you could leave his cabin.
"Whoa, there, kitten. Yeh can't leave right now, Paul's going back to his room after his 2:30 class. Can't have 'im seeing you leave m'cabin. " Sure enough, through a sliver of the window not covered by the canvas flaps, you saw Paul trudging back to his room with a bow strapped to his back. "N'I'm sorry I laughed. What would make you feel better about this? A second opinion? Just telling someone here what's going on? Have yeh even told anyone else about us?"
"No!" Your eyes narrowed to slits. "Why? Have you?"
He snorted. "Yeah, the only male counselor under 25 is dating another counselor, it'd be a great idea to tell a girl counselor, 'cause she certainly won't tell anyone el--"
"Okay, okay, damn, you've made your point," you interrupted, holding a hand to his chest. "What should I do then?"
He shrugged. "Do yeh think telling a trusted friend counselor about us would make yeh feel better?" His big hands rubbed up and down the sides of your arms, oddly enough calming you down. You nodded gently, looking up at him. He responded by kissing you again. "'m sorry we can't be more open, baby, yeh know I want t'be."
You rolled your shoulders back, making his hands drop back down to his sides. "I know, love. We gotta do what we can. I'll see you at the fireworks show." He could barely even wave to you before you fluttered out of his room back into campgrounds.
Who to talk to? You honestly couldn't even think of someone really worthy to tell this big secret to. Your mind went at a million miles an hour, but fortunately your legs did the thinking for you and took you in the direction of the art pavilion.
It had a giant sign over the main entrance with the words Dabbler's Den in yellow paint. As a camper, you once asked why it was named that, and allegedly it was to reference how many art forms you would dabble in while there. Today, apparently, was tie-dye t-shirts, since you found Kathia and a CIT demonstrating to her campers how to squeeze the bottles of runny dye onto their twisted-up and rubber banded t-shirts. While you were lucky enough to snag another older set of girls this week, this time Kat was stuck with 10-year-olds.
"Remember ladies," Kathia cheerfully announced to the group, not noticing your arrival. "When it comes to tie-dye, more is more when it comes to pigmentation, but be realistic about our dye budget!" The campers giggled at her joke and immediately started lunging for ketchup and mustard bottles filled with various colors.
"Kat? Can I talk to you in private for a sec?" you tapped the bubbly girl on the shoulder, making her whip around to face you.
"Sure," she agreed, taking the paint-smeared apron off and hanging it on a brass hook on the wall. "Sierra, make sure no one tries to drink the dye while I'm gone!"
Her CIT flashed a thumbs up, but one of the campers yelled, "We're not four years old, Miss Kathia!"
The Dabbler's Den was divided in half by a craft room in the middle, with a hallway leading to the back of the pavilion. There were steps to this section, and it was only used when the Den was double booked. It looked off into the river and was considerably more quiet than the other half.
"What's going on? What did Crick say?" Kat asked, already hopping onto the battered craft table with wide eyes.
"She got on my ass about letting my campers steal orange juice from the Great Hall. But... there's something else I have to tell you." Your lower belly suddenly filled with nervous energy, and your hands fiddled with each other.
Kathia's head lulled to one side. "What's up?"
"Harry and I are dating. We have been for months now, and I know it's not allowed, but I'm so scared of getting caught and keeping it to myself is absolutely killing me. I've never kept a secret of this magnitude before. I'm so scared Cricket is gonna find out, is my hair going gray? I think I'm barely twenty and already getting gray hairs." You punctuated your wild ramble with your fingers threading through your hair and tilting your whole head forward so Kat could see the strands and check for actual graying hairs.
"Y/N, calm down!" Kathia reassured, grabbing your shoulders and standing you back up. "I already knew."
"And I've been sneaking around for weeks trying to keep it on the down low but it's stressful! I've-- wait." You stopped for a good few seconds, reading Kat's face. It was like she was holding back a laugh. "You already knew," you deadpanned, unsure if it was a question or not.
"Yes, I did!" she affirmed, finally letting out that laugh. "I've been onto you for like two and a half weeks now. Do you think you're secretive? You always get the right shower temperature, Y/N." Kat shrugged and dropped her eyes to the ground for a moment. "When you just let Paige go off at night, I kinda got the idea that it was so you could have some fun of your own but I wasn't sure who with. I severely doubted it being Paul so unless you were gay this whole time, it had to be Harry. Before you snuck out, I pretended to be asleep and followed you to see if I was right and I may have seen something I shouldn't have."
Your eyes widened. "You were the one who caught us?!" Your hands flew up to cover your mouth before you could even stop them.
"Yes! I was as embarrassed as you were afraid, so I bolted to get back to the cabin before you did, but I think I woke up Cricket. I couldn't see super well so I knocked over a box that was by her window. Tell your campers I'm sorry about getting them busted."
You sighed in relief, placing a hand over your heart. "Wow. That's a huge weight off my chest. You're not gonna tell anyone, right? About Harry and me?"
Kathia shook her head. "I don't necessarily approve of it, but I like you. I won't rat you out to Cricket or anyone else here. That doesn't mean someone else won't find out though," she warned, wagging a finger at you. "So be careful. Speaking of your campers, what did you do about them sneaking out and getting caught by Crick?"
You picked at a cuticle. "I kinda... took the fall for it. Promised not to let it happen again."
Kathia shook her head, walking towards the stairs back up to the other side of Dabbler's. "You said you weren't gonna do that. Stand by your own word. Take control of your life, Y/N!" she called after you, grabbing her apron and tossing it back on. You wouldn't have admitted it then, but she was right. You remained speechless for a few moments before turning and going back to your bracelet-weaving campers.
As the evening approached, the weather cooled down, and the sky went a bright pink before darkening altogether, camp went into a frenzy to prepare for the show. Counselors wrangled up their girls and ensured they had towels to sit on and Cricket was occupying all walkie talkie traffic getting staff to move their cars off the field where the fireworks would be launched.
You were minding your own business once you got your more competent girls settled in, and just so happened to be caught in Crick's line of sight when you were looking for Harry just before the show was due to start.
"Y/N!" Cricket snapped, pointing at you.
"Ma'am?" you replied, halting in your tracks and turning to her.
"The show is supposed to begin soon and I haven't seen Sydney anywhere. She's the one who's in charge of the fireworks. Can you go find her? If you need me I'll be in my usual fireworks spot," she tapped the folding chair slung over her shoulder for good measure and went on her way.
Part of you wanted to let Sydney fail, to pretend to have looked for her and just let her be late and take the blame for herself, but you couldn't. Syd had never done anything specifically bad to you other than get on your ass about rules, so you went looking for her.
The first place you thought to try was her cabin, which was empty. Then you went to the office building where Cricket had reprimanded you just hours before. Thanks to the evening weather, when you opened the door, the air inside was actually cool enough to give you shivers and goosebumps.
There was a clattering from one of the storage closets (one you and H hadn't consummated in yet, for the record) and you terrifiedly approached the door. It could be a raccoon, or a small deer, or a huge conglomeration of evolved rats, or a sexual predator. Or... maybe not.
You turned the knob before jumping back, and Sydney bursted out from the closet, dropping to the ground and catching herself on her hands. The infectious reek that followed her out of the room and the clinking of obvious bottles behind her revealed that she was off-her-ass drunk. Sydney looked up through fluttered lashes, clearly amused at herself.
"Oops! How did I end up in the closet, I'm not even gay!" she slurred, giggling and hiccuping around her words.
"Sydney... what the fuck?" you blurted, unsure of what to do in this situation. Sure, you and Harry smoked a little on weekends. And maybe you weren't even supposed to be together in the first place... but you didn't get blackout drunk when you're supposed to be around campers! "You're supposed to be on firework duty in five minutes!" Yeah, as if that's still a viable option at this point. Real Mensa member over here.
"S'no big deal," Sydney countered, wobbling back up onto her feet, only to casually lean on a table. "Just point the lighter, put your right hand in, keep your shoulders straight, HEY MACARENA!" she yelled, echoing in the office building.
"Sydney! Pipe down! I've got to get you to bed, now," you decided while reaching for her, but she jerked away, suddenly angry.
"Don't *hic* touch me!" she coughed. "I don't have to *hic* do what you *hic* say! What are you gonna do? Tell on me? I'm sure once you do that, Cricket will love to know you've been fucking the lifeguard the whole time." She stamped her feet and crossed her arms like a child... like a child with a detrimental secret.
Your breath almost caught. "I don't know what you're talking about." You continued to try to sorta carry Sydney back to her cabin, and she was too drunk and angry to stop you this time.
You managed to guide the intoxicated girl back to her cabin and get her set up in her own bed. You placed a trashcan next to where her head was, poured a glass of water for her to drink when she woke up, and settled her body into the "recovery" position you'd learned in high school. Push them on their side, pull the top knee over to support the position, extend the bottom arm to keep from rolling over, and place the top arm under the chin to prevent choking on vomit. Before you knew it, Sydney was snoozing peacefully. You double checked that she was still breathing through at least one of her orifices (she was, all of them actually) and flipped off the light to her cabin.
What were you going to do about Sydney? She clearly knew about you and Harry and probably had been waiting for a good enough reason to let you know she was onto you. Was she just talking out of her ass, or would she really be willing to take you down with her unless you kept quiet about her drinking problem? You'd never been blackmailed before and frankly you thought that those gray hairs were starting to come in full swing.
No time to worry about that. You, obviously, were going to be late to the fireworks show, but then again, the girl who was in charge of it wasn't even going to be attending. All you had to do was find someone willing to cover for Sydney who wouldn't ask a bunch of questions about her whereabouts.
Paul was the obvious first choice-- you searched around for him and found him smoking a cigarette behind the nurse's office. He saw no problem in working the fireworks stand and didn't really care much about why Syd wasn't available anymore, so all you had to do now was find H and enjoy the light show.
When you finally found him, he was standing on the edge of the field between the campers and the pool holding what appeared to be a quilt. He was scanning around for you, and when he saw you his face lit up and you jogged over.
"What's with the blanket?" you asked breathlessly, pointing at the big red quilt folded up into his arms.
"Was thinkin' we could share it." Harry's hands weren't free to gesture, but he motioned with his chin towards the ground.
You smiled a tiny bit. "Okay. That's cute." You helped Harry unfold the blanket until it was fully opened and laid on the ground to his left.
The fireworks show was now officially overdue, but fortunately nobody had a watch or a phone that could tell them the difference between eight and eight oh five. The camp had a murmur of mild conversation and excited whispers draped over everyone, and it was completely silenced when the first rocket shot into the air.
As soon as the first firework popped and every head of every camper, counselor, and director was pointed up at the sky, Harry reached over to his right and grabbed the edge of the blanket, pulling it over both of your bodies, making a small cocoon of just the two of you. You were out in the open, and nobody was looking.
He gazed down at you like you were the most beautiful artwork he had ever seen, like you were the moon, like you were a fireworks show. He fluttered his eyes shut and so did you, and his lips were on yours.
Sparks were flying through your whole being at this intimate yet critically risky move. Making no noise was the hardest part, because even though the explosions and crowd were loud, there were moments of silence as the fireworks shot up... Silence that would shamelessly reveal the gasps and moans and kissing noises the two of you elicited from the other.
Finally, when the oxygen level got just low enough under the blanket that both of you tapped out, he lifted the quilt up and the two of you sat up and enjoyed the rest of the show, breathless and a little sweatier than everyone else there.
Harry looked at you instead of the sky. He was smiling at you, and when you looked down from the show to meet his gaze, his smile did that subtle change when a normal, closed-mouth smile gets bigger, as if he was too happy to keep his teeth hidden. It was like when you were around, there wasn't a face he could physically make to show how happy he was with you.
After the show, when all the campers were tucked away in their cabins, the counselors (except for Sydney, of course) gathered around the massive fire pit by the riverbanks. Harry brought his guitar and some of the cooks brought s'mores ingredients. The fire was lit up and some of y'all roasted marshmallows while the rest enjoyed the music.
One of the girls suggested singing Country Roads and at first everyone laughed, but when Harry started strumming it out softly, nobody could bring themselves to not sing along. Everyone swayed with full hearts as the fire danced up into the night sky.
"I wanna make a toast," Dani announced, standing up from the log she'd been sitting on. "I've been dealing with seemingly infinite young children for almost two months now in addition to one of the most uptight bosses I've ever had, and I once worked for someone who make you clock out to pee." The counselors laughed a little but died down as she continued. "But you know what keeps me going, week after week? You guys. Getting to have moments like this is what really makes summer memorable. That, and the really good garlic bread the kitchen has. Shoutout to Hannah." More laughter erupted as one of the cooks flipped her hair pridefully. "So yeah. I toast to my fellow counselors. May we all make it out without hurting a fellow counselor, a CIT, camper, or Cricket!"
Not everyone had a whole s'more or a water bottle, so the rest of us had to toast with a dry graham cracker. The resources were lackluster, but it was the words that counted and Dani nailed them.
The next day, when you were walking back from Dabbler's with your group, you got an unfortunate message from your hip.
Your walkie talkie crackled to life. "Cricket to Sydney and Y/N. My office, now."
You froze in place. "Ten-four," you muttered to yourself, not even reaching for the talkie. You barely nodded to your CIT before taking off in the direction of the office.
Sydney was already in Crick's office by the time you got there. The three of you stood in the room together in a triangle formation, and the air in the room was palpably tense with the sound of blood rushing in your ears getting louder and louder. Finally, Cricket spoke up with a simple question.
"Can someone explain to my why Paul was in charge of the fireworks yesterday?"
It was silent, and neither you nor Sydney were quite sure what to say. Not only did either of you want to tell the truth, but you also hated each other too much to construct a safe backup story to cover your asses.
Cricket continued. "Yesterday, I gave Sydney the job of setting off the fireworks, and Y/N the job of finding her before the show started. So... pray tell. Why did Paul ask me this morning where the leftover matches and sparklers go? I would've assumed that since I gave Sydney that job that she would've been the one asking me that." Her tone was condescending and drawn out, as if you were stupid.
"I guess I fell asleep," Sydney finally cooed. Oh my God. She was trying to pin this on you! "When I woke up it wasn't until after the show had ended! I must not have been woken up in time." Her eyes drifted over to you, as if you should be ashamed for letting this happen.
"What?!" you shrieked. "You were piss drunk when I found you! You couldn't open a door let alone handle fireworks! You're lucky I didn't leave your ass in the closet to puke all over yourself, and now you're turning me in as if I got you wasted and I didn't cover for you?!" By now you'd reached the breaking point and decided to really seal Sydney's fate. You marched over to the closet you'd discovered Sydney in and yanked the door open. Sure enough, the smell hadn't gone away and neither had the bottles that noisily rolled out. "How do you explain that? 'Cause I don't drink and I don't think Cricket's sauce of choice is a fucking Four Loko! Are you still drunk now? Can you even defend yourself?" you hissed. Earlier in the summer you probably would’ve let Sydney make whatever accusation she wanted and taken it in stride, but you were done. No more making excuses for other people and being a doormat.
Sydney's face flickered, devastated over her blown cover, but pushed on anyways. "At least I'm not a slut! You've been fooling around with Harry this whole summer!"
It's a pretty good thing your anger totally overwhelmed how bad you were at acting. "You fucking liar! You're making that up so you won't get busted even though you already have been. I don't even like Harry! He's loud and arrogant and narcissistic and irrespon--"
"Y/N, that's enough." Cricket finally chimed in, overwhelmed by what was going on. "Nobody likes being accused of things they didn't do, but it's not an excuse to insult Harry. If you have such a problem with him, take it up with him some other time," Cricket reprimanded, and it took so much in you not to burst out laughing. "And you, Sydney, should be embarrassed. Creating a rumor to deflect off your own alcoholism? At least use something believable next time." Crick rolled her eyes as she talked and Syd's jaw was practically on the floor. "I believe your time at Camp Jalita is over. Get your things packed by tonight or the camp board will hear about this and charges will be pressed."
Unable to do anything else, Sydney complied. When she'd left the room and slammed the door behind her, Cricket stepped forward and placed a hand on your shoulder. "I'm sorry I had to call you in here for that. I figured something was up with Sydney and I knew she would lie to me. But you... you're the most trustworthy counselor here, and I thought you'd give me the truth. So thank you. You're free to go back to your girls and enjoy the rest of your week."
"Any time, Cricket," you replied with a smile. So maybe you were lying to her the whole summer and everything she knew about you was a swindle, but Crick's words still made your heart swell.
"Oh, and Y/N?" she called just before you made it outside. "You should really give Harry a chance. He's actually quite a nice boy if you get to know him!" Cricket offered, sitting down at her desk and slipping her glasses on.
You giggled. "Of course, ma'am, I'll try."
Since your campers were busy getting ready to go swimming, the only place you could think to go was back to your cabin. Dani and Kat were on the brunette's bed, poring over a tabloid Dani's mom sent to her through camp mail.
"Y/N? What's wrong? Why are you out of breath?" the girls asked, concerned over your distraught appearance.
You sat on your bed and sighed. "I just got Sydney fired."
Your cabin mates gasped, demanding to know the whole story. You went over every detail, from her chastising you since the beginning of the summer, to her drinking problem, to her blackmailing you, to the meeting you had only moments before.
"Wait, wait, what was she blackmailing you over?" Dani asked, brows furrowed. Oh, right-- she didn't know about you and H. You explained you and Harry's story including any detail you could remember, and by the end of it Dani was practically squealing in delight. "Oh my God! Y'all are so cute together! I should've known. You always get the right temperature in the shower, there had to have been someone else!" You and the other girls laughed together, and you finally felt something that you hadn't felt since before the summer started. You couldn't quite pin what it was, but it was the feeling of not having to hide anymore.
Acceptance? Safety? Freedom? Whatever it was, you wanted to bathe in that feeling forever.
***
With Sydney out of the picture and your two friends offering to cover up for you whenever they could, the remainder of your summer with Harry blew by without you even realizing it. Something else that happened without you realizing it was the two of you falling deeper and deeper in love than either could have fathomed.
Every year, at the end of the summer, the camp staff makes a huge banner to hang up in the Great Hall that every counselor that worked that year signed. There are banners dating back to the 80's, and every year had a certain theme. One was fall-themed and all the felt pieces signed by the counselors were orange and yellow and red leaves. One was rain-themed and the signed pieces were raindrops.
This summer it was art-themed. Each counselor was given a splat-shaped piece of felt to sign their name on. You, of course, demanded your favorite color, annoying the girl passing them out.
You took your time to write your name, carefully writing it in pencil first. You poured yourself a second cup of coffee that day in secret and painstakingly traced it out with a Sharpie. That evening, with caffeine still in your veins, you proudly showed it to Harry at the end of the day before Taps.
"'S beautiful, Y/N," he beamed. "Yeh've got magic hands."
You could feel your cheeks heat up even in the slightly chilly dusk weather. "Thanks, love."
"I was wondering if yeh'd want to... I don' know. Add something small? To commemorate our summer together?" he suggested, voice low.
Your eyes flickered up from the felt piece. "What did you have in mind?" you asked warily, not wanting to be completely obvious.
"A small seashell in one of the arms goin' off th'splat. It's an ancient symbol of love, and also was the symbol of Venus, the Roman goddess of love," he explained, his voice still low.
Your heart swelled at this sweet side of Harry. "Oh, my God, H," you said, matching his volume.
"Let's begin Taps, ladies and Harry and Paul!" Rachel, the camper leader, called. Everyone crossed their arms right over left and clasped hands with the person next to them, creating a giant intimate chain while everyone sung.
"I would love that," you whispered to Harry, dropping your head into the crook of his shoulder before singing, "Day is done..."
"Gone the sun..."
"From the lake, from the hills, from the sky..."

i’ve strayed in my minds eye (many times)
(based on this post)
There’s an overwhelming amount of darkness.
Inky black is the only thing he can see.
Amidst the nothing he hears things.
Scurrying feet, nibbling, squeaks.
It’s nauseating.
The fuck is that?
He’s been quiet, trying to figure out where he is and what’s going on but he can’t hold back anymore. Billy opens his mouth, ready to shout but someone else screams first.
“Fuuuuuuuuck!”
He’s got to be dreaming because that’s Steve Harrington he can hear.
There’s more feet, pitter patter pitter patter, and then scuffling, almost like someone’s wrestling.
“Harrington?” He shouts into the darkness.
It’s so dark, he can’t even see himself. He looks down at his own body but nothing’s there, just the dark void.
“I swear to god, Harrington, if this is you pulling some weird shit I’ll kick your ass!” He yells.
He hears the same repetitive scurrysqueak over and over and then the silence finally breaks.
“Hargrove?”
“Where the fuck are you?!”
“I-I don't know, I don't-where are you?” Steve yells back.
“I don't fucking know, can you hear that?” Billy shouts.
“What? That weird rat sound?”
Rats. That’s what it is.
“Fuck.” Billy mutters. “I fucking hate rats.”
“Billy-look, I think-fuck-I think I know where we are.” It sounds like Steve’s close so Billy walks forward-or at least, he thinks he does.
“Yeah, okay, wanna clue me in?”
“You wouldn’t believe me. I’m gonna-I’m gonna try to find you.”
“Wait, Harrington, what the fuck?” Billy shouts but Steve doesn’t respond.
Billy waits for what feels like an hour before he opens his mouth again but he doesn’t get a chance to speak because he suddenly feels like he’s losing footing, like he’s slipping down, down, down, almost like...sand, like he’s slipping through sand and he throws his hands out, tries to grab something but there’s nothing.
Just the sensation of falling.

He can feel so much.
There’s so much in his head it feels like it’ll split apart.
He wants to clutch it in his hands but he-he can’t see his hands, he can’t even feel them lifting.

Why...why the fuck can he feel the sensation of running, like he’s scrabbling over the ground too fast, he’s tiny one second but then he’s not, then he’s himself, but then he’s seeing himself through someone else’s eyes, and he’s got these weird thoughts.
NancyBatDustinScoopsSummerUpsideDownBillyPlate
He knows that’s not him. Those aren’t his thoughts.
He tries opening and closing his hand but it doesn’t do anything. He tries screaming but nothing comes out.
And then he’s falling, keeps falling.
He sees so much.
Where there was once nothing there is now light, his vision fills with color and shapes, people appear in front of him and it’s so sudden that he almost starts panicking, can feel the anger froth up in him, licking to get out.
It’s the pool. He’s at the pool. He looks down and sees that he’s in his trunks, has his whistle.
Everything’s normal.
Kids are shouting, splashing each other, girls are sauntering past him and looking over their shoulders. He sees Karen Wheeler coming out of the pool at the opposite end, giving him a view of her ass.
There’s that other lifeguard that’s been hounding him, Heather, walking by and smiling all wide and toothy.
His eyes dart across the pool, he looks at people and identifies them, the ones he knows, and everything seems fine.
But then he scans again and he can see Steve.
Steve’s in that fucking awful Scoops Ahoy uniform, standing at the other end of the pool, directly across from him, staring at Billy.
His mouth is moving but nothing’s coming out.
It’s fucking creepy.
Billy tries to move but then the picture changes and he’s at school, on the court, and he’s dribbling a ball, and everyone around him is shouting and Harrington’s there but he’s not playing, he’s just looking at Billy who stops moving, lets the ball roll away.
This isn’t real.
These are memories.
And Steve’s in them too, aware that he’s in them.
The picture changes and they’re at Tina’s Halloween party, right in front of each other, eyes locked while Nancy moves away from Steve’s side and Tommy talks shit next to him but Billy doesn’t hear it.
“What the fuck is this, Harrington?” Billy asks angrily.
“I don't know, this is different. Uncharted territory.”
“Different than what?”
“You-you don't know about the shit that’s been happening here, it’s not good.”
Billy scoffs, holds out his arm. “Have something to do with this bullshit?”
He shows off the dark mark that’s been steadily growing on his arm. Steve stares at it, eyes wide and full of a complicated understanding.
Slowly, Steve lifts his arm, and holds it out to Billy.
It’s the same mark.
“What the fuck?” Billy breathes out, the words weighted and shaky.
Steve screws his face up, opens his mouth, “I-I think we’re-”
Steve vanishes, everything cuts to black and then he’s on a beach.
The sky is dark blue, but there’s ominous electricity crackling through the clouds, red lines he can see shooting back and forth, like he’s in some sort of storm straight from Hell.
Shit, maybe this is his Dante’s Inferno.
He looks for Steve but doesn’t see him.
There’s nothing but sand and water, no line of trees, nothing but a long stretch of land that doesn’t seem to go anywhere.
The waves rush, angry and violent and the water keeps getting closer, licking at his feet.
It’s warm-too warm, hot almost and it makes Billy stumble back.
A huge wave is approaching, so massive Billy thinks he’ll get swallowed whole. It’s only seconds away from him and then he realizes it’s not water.
It’s rats.
A giant wall of rats is coming at him.
He looks down, the water has been replaced with rats.
A sea of them, all moving and squeaking, beady eyes times a thousand staring at him, advancing.
He screams.
Everything changes and he’s at the Byers, the thrum of his Camaro behind him, floodlights illuminating Steve in front of him.
“F-fuck.” He’s shaking.
There’s a lit cigarette in his mouth and he pulls on it thankfully.
“Wall of rats?” Steve asks and Billy realizes he’s panting too, bending down to plant his hands on his knees like he’s out of breath.
“Yeah, not a fan.” Billy says and then takes the cigarette from his mouth and extends it to Steve.
He doesn’t know why he does it.
Steve takes it, slips it between his fingers and smokes, doesn’t say thank you but that’s fine because honestly? It’d be fucking weird.
“I don't like this.” Steve says, breathing out a plume.
“Yeah, like a bad acid trip.” Billy says.
Then there’s voices and they both look to the side.
It’s...it’s them.
“What the fuck.” Billy bites out.
He’s looking at himself and Steve, talking a few feet away and then Billy reaches out and shoves Steve.
Shit. Oh shit.
“Dude, are you seeing-”
“Us?” Billy confirms.
“Okay, this is weird.” Steve says and they both watch for a few seconds, not speaking as their doubles move into the Byers house.
They exchange a look, a silent agreement not to follow. They both know how this ends.
Then it’s gone and they’re at Billy’s house and that’s not fucking cool at all because his dad has a Clone!Billy by the shirt collar and is yelling profanities at him.
The real Billy watches, winces because he remembers the smell of booze fanning his face, the sting of the fist against his cheek that follows.
Steve makes a sound when Neil throws the punch, like he’s shocked, and Billy steals a glance at him. Steve’s watching intently as his clone falls to the ground and lets out an aborted sound.
Billy waits for the scene to change, is begging it to-it doesn’t, not right away. It sticks around, taunting him, and they watch Neil circle the clone, spitting vicious words, getting louder and angrier.
And then it finally fucking stops and he doesn’t know where they are.
But Steve sure seems to.
They’re in a real fucking nice living room and Billy’s looking around, almost impressed but Steve’s got his eyes trained on the foyer, and they hear the front door open.
Billy turns and watches a Steve clone stumble into view, clearly drunk.
Then Billy hears humming and looks to the side, where carpet meets tile and there’s light illuminating, he sees a woman float in and out of view.
“Mom!?” The clone slurs loudly.
The woman doesn’t seem to hear.
Steve, the real Steve-he’s not making a sound, his face dark and reserved.
Clone!Steve jolts forward, like he doesn’t understand how his body works and walks right in-between the two of them, towards the kitchen.
They both turn.
“Mom, I’m...I’m drunk.” Steve says.
His mother doesn’t look at him.
“Mom!” Clone!Steve yells. “Fucking look at me!” His voice is so desperate, thick and hoarse from exertion.
Billy doesn’t get it at first, but then a man who has to be Steve’s dad walks past them and into the kitchen, greets his wife and sits down at the kitchen table.
“Look at me!” Clone!Steve yells.
Jesus.
Everything changes again but this time Billy’s alone.
The memories flick past him like the pages of a book.
It’s a mix of Steve’s and his own, but they’re starting to change, there’s too much color-it’s over-saturated, like a bad movie.
Some of these aren’t memories.
There’s one of Billy on the deck of a beach house, staring out into a calm ocean and puffing on a cigar.
That’s...that’s a dream he’s had.
-Steve’s working in an office, hair slicked back and wearing a fancy suit-
-Billy’s in bed, lying on his side, an arm snakes around him but he can’t see who it is, can’t see the face-
-he’s at school after hours, in the locker room and he hears the showers running. He approaches and there’s a comical amount of steam, it’s not real and he can hear-he can hear himself talking low. When he catches sight of himself he’s not surprised at what he finds, he’s seen it before. It’s him, back against the tile, head tipped back, mouth open a little. Clone!Billy’s eyes open and his head falls down and he looks at the Clone!Steve that’s on his knees and-well-
-he’s in a room with a horrible set of plaid curtains and there’s movement on the bed in front of him. Clone!Steve’s on top of someone, Billy can hear the wet sound of kissing, but there’s this weird morphing thing happening, the person beneath Clone!Steve keeps changing. Billy can’t really make out who it is but there’s this soft, static effect happening-
-junkyard, Clone!Steve’s got that fucking nail-bat in his hands, and he’s digging his feet into the ground, eyes trained on some sort of weird lizard-dog thing. Billy’s breath catches when he sees three more-
-some sort of fucking meadow, a hill, wind in his face, he can taste the lilac. He’s looking at himself and Steve lying on their backs, talking to each other, laughing and-and touching each other. He doesn’t know what this is-
Nothing.
Everything goes black.
He doesn’t know how long he’s in the darkness. After all that shit the void is almost welcome.
“Billy?” He hears Steve’s tinny voice, cautious but there.
“I’m here.”
“Did you...I saw-”
Steve cuts out, or stops talking. One of the two.
And then he’s opening his eyes.
He’s staring up at the face of a teary-eyed Max and that kid with the curls staring down at him, covered in black streaks, hair matted with sweat.
“Billy?” Max whispers.
Billy opens his mouth, coughs hard.
His lungs hurt. His eyes-legs-everything hurts.
It’s dark still, but it’s not the void.
It’s the mall. He’s inside the mall and a bunch of kids are surrounding him, and Nancy and Jonathan, and he realizes Steve is next to him. The kid with the curls has moved his attention to Steve, sniffling and touching his arm carefully.
There’s hundreds of dead rats around them. Hundreds. The smell of blood is overbearing. He realizes he’s lying in a pool of something dark and tacky. He gags a little.
The kids help them both stand and Steve looks over, meets Billy’s eyes and Billy feels his stomach drop.
Fuck.
He has to talk to Harrington. Now.
