The idea that uni protesters are "elitist ivy-league rich kids larping as revolutionaries" on Twitter and Reddit and even here is so fucking funny to me if you actually know anything about the student bodies at these unis. Take it from someone who's going to one of the biggest private unis in the US, 80% of the peers I know are either from the suburbs or an apartment somewhere in America, children of immigrants, or here on a student visa. I've heard about one-percenter students, but I've never met one in person. Like, don't get me wrong, the institution as a whole is still very privileged and white. I've talked with friends and classmates about feeling weird or dissonant being here and coming from such a different background. But in my art program, I see BIPOC, disabled, queer, lower-income students and faculty trying to deconstruct and tear that down and make space every day. So to take a cursory glance at a crowd of student protesters in coalitions that are led by BIPOC & 1st/2nd-gen immigrant students and HQ'd in ethnic housings and student organizations and say, "ah. children of the elite." Get real.

I'm feeling really burnt out trying to consistently point out that nuance is important when it comes to my posts.

I'm also feeling really burnt out trying to account for multiple scenarios to avoid getting the angry asks.

It shouldn't need to be said that every one of my posts is not a black and white rule. That there are always circumstances where a post won't apply.

And honestly, I guess what I'm saying is I'm done trying to explain and account for stuff.

Non aggressive responses pointing out nuance are fine, and I don't have the energy to respond to them, but they are fine and will just be ignored.

But aggressive responses/asks will just be blocked from this point forward.

I'm feeling exhausted anytime I check my ask box or activity feed on Tumblr, and it's making me want to delete the app and not blog anymore and I don't really want that. So, in order to keep blogging, I am going to begin ignoring stuff like this.

Also, to clarify, I don't think you're terrible if you feel a need to point out nuance. I'm just really exhausted by it all, and if you aren't being aggressive or rude about it, you're fine.

Once they wake up, they hear Joker's voice and start freaking the fuck out because they recognize it. The Joker is winding up and making commentary. Then the man removes their blind fold. The person lays eyes on Joker and can't help themselves as what slips out is:

Honestly I’m so glad I gave up having heroes or idols as a teenager for much less serious reasons.

I grew up with Neil Gaimans creations being a massive part of every stage of my life, from my mother reading me Wolves In The Walls, to watching Coraline repeatedly, to binging Good Omens and Dead Boy Detectives.

These stories will remain important to me and continue to inspire me, but he won’t, arguably he was never the main reason I loved most of these stories on the first place.

I love laika studios, I love david tennant, I love terry pratchett, I love the various different interpretations of the characters from the sandman universe. There are dozens of different artists who made these characters and their stories what they are. They deserve better than to have their work tainted by one man.

Multiple women have accused him of sexual assault, even his own response sounds like a confession, I believe he’s absolutely guilty.

He’s an egotistical prick and that’s the reason why he does what he does. I refuse to give him credit for other people’s efforts in art, writing, and acting. They don’t deserve to go down with him. He doesn’t deserve to take them down with him.
