I want a fic where Iida has an asd meltdown while on a class outing because they had a set itinerary to follow and the rest of the class decided they wanted to do something else, or in a different order.

Everyone is laughing having a good time deciding what to do next and Iida is trying to get his point across but no one is paying attention or listening so he shouts, “I JUST! I WOULD REALLY RATHER WE STICK TO THE PLAN. THERES A PLAN AND WE HAVE IT FOR A REASON AND-“ and then EVERYONE is paying attention, and it’s too much attention, too many eyes, and then the panic starts to set it.

I have many ideas for who could help him through it and why it would be them.

Aizawa. Obvious choice really. Dadzawa to the rescue is always my favorite trope. Plus he has mandatory hero training to help individuals with mental disabilities.

Midoriya. As iida’s best friend he knows about his diagnoses and has spoken with him about ways to help him when he’s having a meltdown. And also he definitely went down an internet rabbit hole/hyperfixation because he was convinced that it’s not smth that wouldn’t be taught in the hero course (it’s coming in year 2) and is absolutely necessary for hero work.

Kaminari. Probably the least obvious choice but one of my favorites. He could know what to do for several reasons really. He did extensive research to figure out if he had adhd, autism or audhd (he’s just like me fr) and learned a lot of coping mechanisms and strategies. Or he’s in therapy and has learned some from there. Or similarly to Midoriya, he had a mental health rabbit hole/hyperfixation.

Kirishima/Sero/Tsuyu. I have the same idea for all of them. They have a little sibling with autism and have grown up learning the best ways to gently help them through their problems.

Kouda. As someone who is mostly nonverbal himself, he would be able to communicate with him in that state possibly better than the others. Plus his soft voice and the presence of small animals would be soothing and grounding.

Todoroki/Ururaka/Bakugou/Jirou/Aoyama/Shinsou/Midoriya(again). This clip 100000%.
