I feel like there are a lot of people out there who needs to hear this:
If you dropped out of school because of diagnosed (or undiagnosed) ADHD, Autism, ADD, OCD, Dyslexia, Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, schizophrenia etc… You did not fail. The education system failed you.

hey. Many positive posts say it’s okay to cry. Remind people that crying is okay and normal and not be ashamed of. This very true and important!!
but equally true and important that people who naturally don’t cry know it okay. Even something big like death of loved one or break up or other big disappointment, loss. If you don’t feel like crying there’s nothing wrong with you. Or if feel like crying but body just can’t, that okay also. Or if make big noises but not tears. As long as healthy process feelings and not suppress, outward expression or lack of okay!
society have very narrow framework expectations for what ‘acceptable’ displays of emotion. Support and affirm people who fall outside this on both sides.

hey so just to be clear:
special interest ≠ thing you really like
special interest ≠ hyperfixation
special interest = thing pretty much your whole life revolves around, you get anxious if you don't interact with it enough, how you see the world

hi reminder that there’s no shame in needing a comfort object to function!
i’m a full adult and still have meltdowns when i’m separated from my plushies for even a few minutes. i never go places without them. i cannot exist without them.
it’s not a flaw in my being! it’s just my autism! needing a comfort object doesn’t make you lesser. it doesn’t make you weak or childish or a failure. i wish courage to anyone who needs it to bring your comfort items with you wherever they can help!

The late diagnosed neurodivergent experience of being told you're wrong your entire fucking life.
You're too sensitive,
it's not too loud,
it's not too bright,
it's not overwhelming,
you're just overreacting,
it doesn't smell weird,
the texture is fine,
just eat it,
just wear it,
plans change get over it,
stop being so dramatic,
why are you so argumentative?
I was obviously joking,
why do you take everything so seriously?
I'm not yelling,
It's not a big deal,
stop nitpicking,
stop jiggling/rocking,
stop fidgeting,
stop humming/whistling/clicking,
stop talking about that,
no one cares,
you're annoying people,
you're so high strung,
just relax,
stop worrying,
stop overthinking,
just be normal
and then people act all surprised that you grow up to be an insecure, indecisive wreck. What else did you expect me to be when you spent my whole life teaching me my own perception was faulty and couldn't be trusted?
Grooming me to seek approval and validation from others for every decision I made because whenever I made them myself, they were always wrong.
