The Pondering Jemelee
Salutations! I am Jemelee, the author of this blog, a 21-year-old college student full of wonders and ponders that may conquer the world. Or may not. I created this blog during my midterms week, inside my dorm, in the busy city of Manila, for the purpose of…writing. Just writing. About all the things that go […]The Pondering Jemelee

Recently, I experienced a fresh bout of writer's block. Despite understanding the cause and knowing that I needed to resume writing to avoid falling behind, I couldn't bring myself to start writing again.
It was disheartening to see myself in that state, knowing that I would soon forget my story due to my long hiatus from writing. I didn't want to lose the world I had worked so hard to build.
I soon decided that to buy myself some time, I would recap my story until the exams were done. As I lack friends or family who would enjoy tales, I opted to simply write them in my diary. I wrote in detail the events and the lore behind all the events and I soon recovered all the things that I had forgotten. Recently, I experienced a fresh bout of writer's block. I became re-energized by the story and managed to answer questions I had been unable to before.
What is your opinion on this matter? What other methods do you utilize to overcome writer's block?
Thank you for reading and I look forward to seeing you in the next post.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
Recycling is something we’ve been told since childhood is vital for protecting our Earth, and I don’t dispute that. Today, however, I want to talk about another kind of recycling, one which may serve writers well, especially if they are suffering writer’s block. This is literary recycling. And no, I do not mean recycling entire plots or characters. Definitely not. That would be…

THE NOVEL | A Journey
This is the beginning of something new from Graviccino! An ongoing journal for all those aspiring writers!
INTRODUCTION Beginnings are delicate things… As I near the end of my first proper novel’s editing, I want to turn to a journal for its creation. And in the process, find a new story to tell. One filled with pit-falls, dramas and great expectations. So here, I will begin a journal describing the process of writing this novel. Things an inspiring writer might look out for, perhaps, or simply as…

Now the Spirit speaks expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. – I Timothy 4:1-3
This was a recent read for me. I read it on this year. I’ve been told about this book by my mother, I’d been bought it to read, but I just got to it and read on this year. I really cannot recall what sparked my interest to divert my attention here, but witchcraft, sorcery, or manipulations of persons is real, and oppression and opposition from ungodly spirits are as well. We have real, legit spiritual enemies out here.
This book was copyrighted in 1986 by the author, who worked in the medical field, and its content is extra relevant today—just as the Bible was composed, starting from a time prior to 1487 Bc to 96 AD, and its content is yet very well relevant today. Truth doesn’t change, nor does it go anywhere.
This book is great. It is excellent for the times we're in and what we’re up against. It addresses the occult practices, things, mindsets, and mechanics of darkness. It is a testimony of real-life experiences. The interactions are firsthand, and therefore much insight is granted and provided to the readers. I enjoyed the scriptures utilized in connection to what was being stated and explained. Many believe the fads of this day are innocent, so this book addresses this "innocence" through the author's involvement.
The book is remarkably written from both sides, of one outside of the occult and of one who became fully engaged with the occult. The book is complete, in my opinion. Great read.

Grammar Rules: That and Which – Written By Melissa Donovan
(This post has been published before on The Story Reading Ape’s blog) on Writing Forward: There’s a lot of confusion about that and which. These two words are often used interchangeably, even though they’re not necessarily interchangeable. Historically, that and which may have carried the same meaning, and some English dialects may allow for that and which to be swapped without affecting the…

Feeling like a Fraud
Imposter Syndrome is something that’s been discussed many times by writers, and it is something that I wanted to talk about. Like so many others, I’ve been a victim of this. It’s a vicious cycle of looking at stuff I’ve done, hearing others praise it, and it all feels empty, like it isn’t really that good, or not good at all. At such times, I convinced myself that what I have done, what I’ve…
