<< Cypher tilts it’s head as it watched the other being who had been wandering the bookstore. Cypher had come for the sole purpose of finding something to do while he waited for another friend to get off of work at the institute. He decides to walk over and silently watch them whilst pretending to look for something to read. >>

Faye is checking the spines of a few paperbacks near her, picking one out and reading the back. She's been gone from the institute a while, so maybe she'll pick up a gift for Marione and Styx. An apology, 'sorry I dipped and hid in my flat for a few weeks and am now dead on my feet, have this book.' Good thing she knows what they like.

Her wings are tucked under her arms, aurora patterns slowly shifting over the blue feathers. She would let them drag on the ground, but then someone might step on them.

"Hm. Maybe this one?"

She mutters, glancing at Cypher and pretending not to notice him watching her. She's used to staring.

Super Late but Wish redesigns and rewrite

Update: I changed Mizar’s design a little bit

I tried to recreate the 90s Disney art style in this drawing since I imagine the rewrite as a 2D movie

There’s some details about my rewrite (copypasted for the Notes App and modified a little bit)

Asha is the daughter of the deceased king Tomas and the royal seamstress Sakina

Rosas used to be allied with a kingdom in the sky called Al-Jady and both battled the black hole monsters who attacked their kingdom

Both kingdoms had a good relationship during the years, but when Magnifico came, Al-Jady decided to cut ties with them

Her dad Tomas and Magnifico are brothers. Tomas was wise and loyal and was a philosopher and astronomer, while Magnifico is ambitious and power-hungry and is a sorcerer. Tomas was chosen to be the heir to the throne

Magnifico’s real name is Marion

Magnifico, jealous kill Tomas.

Then he lies to Asha that her dad was killed by thieves from another kingdom, and then she is banished with her mom and grunkle

They now live in a Hamlet, in which Sakina is the matriarch

She works undercover by the name of Layla. Layla means night in Arabic and is a pretty common name, and Asha is a rare name. (Referring to Aurora’s Briar Rose and Mulan’s Ping)

Asha is a quiet, reserved and studious. But also she is snarky and quick tempered

She likes to draw, animate and learn about astronomy. Her drawing skills are shown more often than in the original movie

Layla (undercover Asha) works at the palace as the royal librarian and reads stories to children

Although Asha considers some stories, as fantasy and childish stories, including the origin of the kingdom of Rosas she likes to practice magic (probably she thinks she is more mature or realizes that these stories may be fake, idk)

Her friends live in other hamlets outside the kingdom

Her Mom and Sabino still exist

Sabino plays the guitarra morisca (or Mandora) as his instrument (to make it historically accurate)

Sabino is Asha’s grunkle

The Star being a shape shifter (like the concept art) and his name is Mizar. His appearance is like a moth creature, when he turns into a human he looks more like an Afro-Arab teenager, chubby and shorter than Asha (I make him different than the average Disney Prince)

He has a companion named Najm, he is inspired by Tinkerbell and only Mizar can understand him

Also the main couple both having sidekick has been seen in many Disney movies (ex: Ariel and Eric, Jasmine and Aladdin)

Najm was a gift from Mizar’s parents to him in his 18 birthday

Mizar can fly and transform into various living things

Mizar likes music and he can play the flute (inspired by @a-storytellers-wish’ s version of Star)

He also likes to study about The Mainland and it’s inhabitants (Yep, I called it like how the fairies in Tinkerbell called the human realm)

Najm can make animals talk and give cosmic dust to make a person fly

His inspirations includes Genie, Peter Pan and Maui

Mizar has the same powers as Merlin (shapeshift,make objects move and see the future)

Magnifico and Amaya are an evil couple (like the concept art) with a pet lynx named Lola and a daughter called Celeste

Celeste is Asha’s cousin, she is 25. She acts like a big sister for Asha

If you are a writer and you had you own rewrite, please I need your help, I’m not good at writing

Sort of spoilers of the rewrite but I will put it anyways

Magnifico summoning the blackhole monsters who are jailed and attack Al-Jady (referring to Hades summoning the Titans to attack the Olympus in Hercules)

Magnifico dies pulled by the Black Hole monsters like Dr Facilier (also referencing Kira’s death in JoJos since both have the same voice actor in Latin Spanish)

I might make a separate post about the designs, but idk yet.

(I don’t like to randomly tag users, but they inspired me to do my own rewrite, although I found the movie decent but it still has flaws and was a nothingburger movie for celebrating the 100th anniversary of one of the most historical and important studio in the animation industry. If I said my unpopular opinions about the movie, some people would probably burn me in a stake)

Day 15: Music

My OC playlist making is a specific process, meaning I listen to songs and if they have the vibe I make the playlist. But I often make characters and find a song or line within a song by Mitski that really shows some shadow of them,

Later on I'd love to make a giant post with specific lines by Mitski and which OC relates to it. But I don't feel like that rn and I want to show more of my characters than their lowest lol.

Welcome to the Layton NPC Showdown!

This is a bracket to determine which of the many memorable NPCs from across the Professor Layton games are the greatest.

GAMES INCLUDED: Every game except LBMR. Eternal Diva characters are also not included here.

WHAT COUNTS AS AN NPC?: Anyone who doesn't have a puzzle animation. Characters excluded are Layton, Luke, Flora, Clive, Emmy, Randall, Aurora, Des, Espella, Phoenix, Maya, Katrielle, Ernest, Sherl, Hastings, and Emiliana.

WILL THERE BE NOMINATIONS?: Nope! Every NPC will be included.

WHAT ABOUT THE LAYTONMOBILE/MOLENTARY EXPRESS?: No vehicles. Not characters.

WHAT ABOUT THE PUZZLE LADS/LASSES?: I only plan on including characters that we can speak to in-game, so no Puzzle Lads or Lasses. Sorry to the people who like them 😔

WHICH CHARACTERS ARE INCLUDED, THEN?: Anyone who isn't an exception listed above that is in the profiles of the game! A full list is enclosed below.

WHEN WILL THE TOURNAMENT START?: More information forthcoming on that! I have to seed the bracket first :)

WHY IS NAIYA YOUR ICON?: In my opinion, she's one of the more underrated NPCs of the series. I'll probably cycle through some of the ones I have available to me right now.

WHAT CRITERIA SHOULD I VOTE ON?: Whatever makes you happy :)

ARE ALTER EGOS SEPERATE CHARACTERS?: No. For instance, Ratman is not included because his secret identity is in the tournament.

US OR UK NAMES?: I will try to make available as many names for the NPCs as possible! Which includes their Japanese names and as many names in the localizations as I am able to obtain from the wiki and my own sources. I'll probably reliably have the English (both versions where applicable), Japanese, and French names for every character when I do the bracket rounds. The list below however is entirely in English.

Some of them might be UK versions though because that's the version of the game I have (specifically Diabolical Box NPCs and Last Specter NPCs -- I know some of their US names but not all).

Watching 3x03 Quite a Common Fairy of Once Upon a Time and I'm struck by how layered the storytelling is.

Forget the past feeding the present - either as the same character learning from or remaking the same mistakes, or the past of one character showing a parallel of the present of another. That's standard for this show. And powerful in itself. Same as the character parallels that are alway present, and always powerful.

This one draws direct lines between Regina and Tink, Regina and Robin, Killian and Emma, Henry and Emma and Roland, Rumple and Neal, Pan and Rumple and Neal and Henry, Pan and Hook, Snowing and Captain Swan, Snow and Emma, Regina and Henry, Regina and Neal, etc.

And my favourite - Killian, Emma and Neal as Philip, Aurora and Mulan (Mulan and Neal both leaving one situation to arrive too late to the couple they have no chance of being part of anymore).

But there are so many other parallels:

Neal and Rumple: with Neal manipulating, actively, Robin into sacrificing his son by leveraging him with his old deal with Rumple.

Neal making his deal with Robin (unwilling) [but does it because Neal says he owes him] paralleled to Killian making his deal with Tinkerbell (unwilling) [so Killian lets it go]

Or is Roland who Neal uses the way Killian uses Tinkerbell, thus making Robin and Regina the ones paralleled as the ones doing the bargaining? In both cases Neal and Killian are directly paralleled and strongly implied that one is good, the other not so. In both cases, it is the group that boosts the confidence of the person leveraged for usefulness, not the one with the idea - ie Robin, Mulan, Little John protecting Roland, saying they'll protect Roland to Robin, and Regina, Emma. and Snow being the ones to convince Tink to help.

The single parent/sick parent and living parent story of Marion/Robin/Roland and Snow/Dreamshade!David/Emma -- And how this play continues through the season.

Tinkerbell and Neal making promises they know they can't necessarily keep but make the promise anyway.
