Wilfred Jackson

Biographical Information

Wilfred Jackson was born in Chicago in January 1906. He studied on Otis Art Institute before joining the Disney Studio in 1928. He was very respected for his work and was one of the first Disney´s directors and considered to be one of the best Disney´s directors by historians.

He also helped develop sound and picture synchronization in a mayor way.

Jackson was given honored as a Disney Legend after his death in 1988 being 82 years old.

Why did I pick Wilfred Jackson

I gravitated to his name because I thought it was cool, but after reading his interview I found out his incredible devotion to animation and his passion to work on it and his capacity to adapt and learn.

The interview

Jackson had a very good relationship with Walt, they respected, trust idealized and were loyal to each other. Walt invested time to teach Jackson animation and more, and Jackson never gave up on new opportunities and persevered even in the hardest times making Walt respect him and his opinions.

They had such a good relationship even that Jackson considered Walt as a second father to him.

Jack Cutting

Biographical Information

Jack Cutting was born in New York City in 1908 and studied at Otis Art Institute with some students that would later become coworkers. Jack passed through different positions while working at Disney Studios. He started out as a assistant animator, then he became an assistant director helping out Dave Hand, after that he became Manager of Foreign Relations which made him travel a lot.

He also was a early aviator pilot known as “Ace” Cutting by his friends.

Jack Cutting died on August17, 1988 being 80 years old.

Why did I pick Jack Cutting

I really liked his name too, It´s very cool and suits him perfectly; the more I read the cooler I thought he was so I mainly chose him cause of his laid back attitude and how cool his story and interests where.

The interview

The Interview tells me he had a great relationship with Walt making him one of his most trusted workers. He describes his experience in a very detailed way describing people as he really knew them. He used to play polo with Walt only furthering their relationship making the friends. He respects Disney but he doesn’t describe him as a perfect person, he says walt took some of his frustration on his workers. He also describes him as a moody man that one day would be the friendlies person ever and other days, he wouldn´t even acknowledge people.
