if i hear another person talk about a retro game, system, or computer having a specific "soundfont" i think i'm gonna lose all will to live and spontaneously drop dead in front of them

#juney.txt #not how it works besties #older 8 bit machines generally had bespoke synthesizer chips that could output some square waves and some noise.#maybe some sine and saw waves if you were lucky #the megadrive had a yamaha chip in it but sega the bastards never gave devs proper instructions on how to use it #so a lotttt of devs just used the inbuilt settings on the development software they had #so a lot of megadrive games sound similar even though the system was technically capable of a lot more </3 #the snes was allllll samples all day #any sounds you wanted you had to hand to the chip in advance #no inbuilt synths for you #anyway in all of these cases music data was just stored as raw computer instructions.#literally just code telling the audio hardware what to do each frame #no midis involved and simply slapping a soundfont someone made on a midi file someone else made does not constitute an ''8-bit'' cover

The Trio of Neverland, Zagreus, and Scherzo have completely ruined my brain because I’m now convinced the only way my favorite show can be creative again is for it to get taken off the air.

cannot believe i literally have a worse headache than i have in months rn and it's from my fucking old headphones that i haven't worn since like march. like to be clear im not complaining, im really glad to finally have a solid and easily provable factor of my like. last winter months long headache & migraines nexus (horrifically cold winter + 50+ hours a week staring at screen in dark room the other factors) pinned down & also it was absolutely worth it & i no longer feel like roadkill that's been fused to the asphalt as much, but like. man. fuck you (headphones)!!!!

#my brother's handmedown ath m50x's have been fine & awesome & so have my skullcandy earbuds. so.#ordered replacement same earbuds hopefully they come soon bc the non-bt audio output on my laptop is fucked.#so the problem will be solved. yippee!!!!#txt

i often run a mod that makes chickens explode on death because its funny to me but once i tried to run it in tandem with touring carriages. whats awesome about touring carriages is that in addition to makinfg carriage travel a fully renderwd sequenxe it also adds a carriage to riverwood.

i get into the riverwood carriage. it runs over the town chicken and it explodes, killing the horse instantly. i am thus robbed of control, stuck in a sideways cart much like a glitched helgen intro indefinitely until i load a save.

skyrim is the best game of all time and modding it only improves the experience

#the way they handle cutscenes is so funny like instead of having them be little movies #like in the witcher games they like. use the physics engine. and have all the actors and objects move #makes them very vulnerable to glitching in the best ways because theres so many different variables #one time i tried to change the audio output halfway through a werewolf transformation and the werewolf exploded into a flesh monster #and flailed around on the ground until my computer shut down #i replicated it multiple times and it kept happening. it was so good #i love skyrim #asks #skyrim #tes #andy original

Frequently Linux will just take the proper piss but sometimes the problem is actually on you. The fun part is figuring out which one applies this time something has broken

#taking the piss example: last update broke something which means I have to manually switch audio outputs when i connect my laptop to #something else via HDMI. thought some driver had broken or something nope! it;s just taking the mick #me problem example: trying to put EDAs on my old ereader but it wasn't mounting #“ah this happened with my mp3 player i think I know how to mount it” nope! the cable was dodgy and it works fine with a good one #sometimes i do feel like the jurgen leitner monologue #(poking my laptop with a stick) are you dead? are you a bastard?

how tf does an old laptop just stop having a setting for headphones

#by old I mean she's like 5 #and there's just... no more settings for headphones? there's plenty of other audio options but I cannot for the life of me find an option to #select my headphones which are physically plugged into the headphone jack as the output and it's not listed anywhere in settings anymore #I'm gonna lose it man Al I wanted to do was watch saw v on one laptop and do my dumb chainshipping drawing on the other :///
