another scene i'm very ??? about in the english localization of 4-3... in this scene apollo originally gets coffee instead of water. he's a coffee drinker!! i also like the subtle differences in ema's lines here so rough translations below

EDIT: i've been told that this is most likely because the US/western countries don't sell coffee in vending machines! that makes a lot of sense but it's still a bit of a shame those versions missed out on canon coffee drinker apollo

these two are mostly similar but i really like how blunt ema is in japanese lol she doesn't even say "i want" or anything it's just. tea. tea! meanwhile in korean i think it's cute that she specifies that she Doesn't want coffee...

really wonder why they decided to change up apollo's choice of drink tho... there is a big difference between someone who decides to drink water and coffee (?) so i think it's a bit of a shame... just for fun i decided to check the other languages since i've heard that the european localizations follow the english localization and sure enough, they do in this scene as well! both traditional and simplified chinese have coffee just like in japanese

I have no idea why but i discovered a weird glitch where the audio distorts when i change inputs on my TV, and its possible to record it. This only happens with NES games on the switch to my knowledge.

if anyone else can recreate this or figure out why this happens let me know, its so fascinating to me but i have literally no clue why it happens.

edit: i also just tried this on my roommate's TV and this doesnt happen, very strange.

So Vitalis (Life) & Theia (Death) were part of a small pantheon on Earth I. Their worshipers were animals -- but like sort of the anthro/furry kind, y'know. Anyway, things were fine for a bit, with the two living happily, though they couldn't interact often/for long due to the nature of their jobs.

Then Vitalis created Humans. They were meant to be a gift for Theia, since whatever Vitalis created would eventually end up in her kingdom. Of course, Humans are Humans, and they make things exceedingly difficult for the anthro-furry creatures. During this time, Vitalis gets a lot more...cruel, beginning to take sadistic joy in how they all hurt each other. He started making more, adding fuel to the fire and giving the two sides more reasons/scenarios to hate each other in. It was basically a 12yo discovering oc making for the first time.

Theia, however, did not see the "fun" side of things, only seeing the tragedy and aftermath from those who entered her kingdom. She saw lives lost, families torn apart, and was starting to resent Vitalis for doing all this. Especially since it was, supposedly, all for her. She didn't want this. Yes, she was Death, but she didn't want people to enter her kingdom earlier than they were meant to. But, as she was Death, she couldn't do anything to stop Vitalis, so she broke it off with him, in hopes that maybe he'd see what he was doing isn't what she wants. (hint: he, in fact, did not, and somehow got worse)

tldr: life got a little to murdery & death didn't like that

ngl it's getting rly annoying seeing people say "remake of x game!" constantly. people are so obsessed with the idea of remakes lately. they don't wonder what the next new game will be like. they just want remakes (including in franchises that don't do those often. not every franchise is Tales, where they've been doing remakes actively throughout its lifespan and not just during this Uwu Remake Era).

with FE, remakes make me a bit eh bc they've all sold poorly or just barely made a profit. Marth's games' remakes on top of the failed Tellius sales almost sent FE into its grave. SoV is just... there. it happened and the fandom moved on, save for the Alm and Celica alts in Heroes.

but like, it was so annoying watching VA interviews and just seeing the word "remake" thrown around so much from the chat. people want "remakes" of games that just don't need them. updated ports is one thing, but entire remakes?

there's more to FE than remakes, but it's all people seem to talk about. I'd like Tellius ports as much as the next girl for people's accessibility (and specifically bc IS' lack of marketing destroyed those games' sales and now they're so rare they're super expensive), but a remake? it's not necessary. even with quality of life features added, those games only need ports. I play them very regularly and frankly have way more fun with them than I do with modern day Menu Emblem.

also, I don't want the fandom wank carrying over into remakes of games that never even had wank. the biggest wank Tellius ever had was the Ike vs Micaiah wars in the fandom, which were not only a fraction of what happens now post Fodlan games but also weren't anywhere near as aggressive.

idk I'm just tired of remake this, remake that. it's also because of the rampant remakes in the industry that I'm tired of it, but it's also tiring to see it constantly in this fandom. I'm glad that FE7 is coming back, but as a port on the Switch and still as a GBA game. FE4? super glad it came back as a port (JP eShop only). remakes though? too tired of the concept (especially when FE remakes have not only almost killed the franchise from lack of sales but were otherwise just mediocre and moved on from pretty quickly). I also don't trust the FE fandom with remakes at this point. character hate is so rampant in this fandom that for the life of me I don't even want Tellius ports if it's going to save me the headache and aggravation from people's lack of character comprehension. :') that shit will turn me into a hard stan and my blog will have to be painted in my blorbo just to keep haters away. :'''')
