World Radio Day is 13 February, so to stand up for the wealth of quality audio drama on the BBC, which is continuing to cut its drama department, I'm reposting drawings that have been inspired by BBC radio productions ...

Benedict Cumberbatch is great; I really like the new ‘updated’ Sherlock and I think they get the spirit of the original better than most people who try to film it in its authentic time period.  But when it comes to the 'real’ Sherlock Holmes, of Victorian London, as written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, there is no Holmes but Clive Merrison.
(Check out the radio adaptations from the 80s if you can – good stuff!)

Why an Arthur / Sims switch? I propose a Doe / Sims switch. Would Arthur be able to survive the super skeptic Jonathan Sims in his head? Would John Doe be able to stop Elias either as Human!John or perhaps as an entity of the Corruption?
Arthur Lester could do TMA but Jon Sims could NOT do Malevolent. Arthur would put Elias in the ground with the power of love and a gun on day 3 and a half. Jon would get eaten by Faust.

Reblogging this as @doctorloup did Podmash on Shadows At The Door and ey picked Settle Thy Studies and I got to once again listen to my fave Troughton monologue ever.
For audio drama sunday, what are some of your favorite lines from shows? Could be your favorite, ones that live in your head rent free, ones that have deep meaning, or are just funny. Here's a few of mine. (if you reblog and add please 1 per show)
"Be still for there is strange music." - The Magnus Archives
"Dreams are never fair. Including the one you're listening to Dreamers." - Hello From The Hallowoods
"The Dark sends the Stag, when the Green sends the Bear." - Old Gods of Appalachia
"She trusted me....my baby." - Malevolent
"Ohhhh so you admit it was a show?" "Yes I admit it was a show!" - The Amelia Project
"What about those of us without pride?" - Shadows at the Door
"The blood for its strings need not be your own." - The Magnus Protocol
"Every god’s a god of death, Richard. It’s the only thing we need them for." - The Silt Verses

When I find a bit of media I like, the inner child who wants the same story over and over and over takes the wheel. This was drawn for Magnitsky the Musical, but the same thing has happened with pretty much everything you see illustrated on this blog.
The last dialogue was borrowed from my niece, who was that age at the time, and is definitely carrying certain family traits ...
Maybe you also have this toddler inside:

I is for @innbetween!
Fantasy adventure. Inspired by D&D, episodes of Inn Between depict what happens to a party in between quests. The characters gather in The Goblin’s Head inn, which follows them wherever they go, to celebrate or commiserate, and plan their next steps.
Five seasons, between 13-15 episodes each. Currently between seasons.

they each find a mysterious magical journal that records their voices when they open it and it sends their words to the other journal.
Pluto and marigold become friends and have all the long distance friend experiences you know and love like

hey that was a troubling last text you sent five days ago, ARE YOU OKAY
in conclusion, c'mon its so good, give it a chance, the sound design is better than a lot of audio dramas
it would take you like two hours to catch up. if you foresee having two hours to spend (even in shorter bursts scatter about your day) you could listen to all ten episodes!!

I finally caught up with the second season of Fawx & Stallion and yall they knocked it right out of the park. Hilarious writing, the perfect blend of comedy and drama, and the voice acting was simply superb. I can't get into the details of the skills required to pull off the S2E6 twist because it reveals that twist by nature. But I WILL say this episode is where everything comes together and simply SHINES.
Robert Kauzlaric and Tom Crowley (as Sherlock and Watson) especially knock it out of the park. The merriment (and memorial) park. It's so good to see an adaptation made by folks who know these characters are hopelessly in love. 🥰
