 Cassian stared at Jyn’s smug face and did his best to remain stoic. “Are we happy?”

Jyn, who had the car seat nearly all the way back and her feet propped up, as she carelessly sipped her smoothie, turned and gave Cassian a sharp smile. “Very much so.”

Cassian snorted and turned his eyes back to the empty highway. “You know, I should be concerned about how meddlesome you can be.”

It was Jyn’s turn to snort. “I would not have to be so meddlesome if people weren’t idiots, you know? I mean, clearly, Leia and Han belong together, but did they want to admit it? No. Therefore, I had to meddle.”

“I’m telling Leia you called her an idiot.”

“No, you won’t. You like being alive a little too much. Besides, she was being a bit of.”

Cassian had to agree, even if he did not say it outloud. Specially, he would not be saying within hearing distance of Leia, for someone so small, she was absolutely vicious. “True enough, what is it with short people and viciousness?”

“We’re concentrated evil.” Jyn answered easily. “And we have to fight back because people think they can walk all over us.”

That was, unfortunately true. Cassian had seen Jyn turn spitfire when someone thought she was a damsel in distress. And if there is one qualifier that Jyn did not fit, was that one. “Oh well, your job is done. They are together now.”

Jyn closed her eyes and took a long sip of her smoothie. “I should get paid. Alas, I get to tell their kids that they only exist because of me.”

Cassian rolled his eyes.

Modern-au Binghe who inherits Tianglang-jun’s massive fuck off mansion with like 4000 rooms after living on the streets/foster system after his adoptive mom died (idk i just need him to have big house) and he goes “what the hell am I supposed to do with this” and Meng mo (cant be a demon here ive decided he’s a weird homeless guy who gives him advice. That or a schizophrenic hallucination) goes “fill it with women” and binghe who knows he is gay goes “no”

But then he hears some girls complaining about the safety of some of the campus housing/thier boyfriend or parents kicked them out/ect and he’s like “well, i can fix that” and offers his mcmansion up as apartments. He’s loaded so he barely asks for rent and he just keeps inviting women in hard times, like his mother used to be.

But his real calling is cooking so he keeps feeding his tenants and asking what they like. He’s got a youtube cooking/home ec channel and they’re his taste testers. And they start inviting their freinds over like “hey wanna meet our big gay himbo landlord who feeds us” and their freinds are like “boy do I”

Binghe is absolutely gleefull about this. More people to feed. Fuck yeah he gets to be housewife. The gossip sessions are unmatched. He ends up making a full banquet every night and you can either show up in your pj’s or a ballgown to match the decor.

And eventually all this snowballs and hes got a whole sorority in his mcmansion. and they casually call him husband/boyfreind/sugar daddy as a joke bc Binghe is JACKED and they can get rid of men real fast if they pull their six foot seven guard dog out of the crowd. For the sign off/video end the taste testers on Binghe’s show kiss his cheeks as thanks. Binghe doesn’t know half the people in his house. Some girl he never met (came out of SHL’s room and is COVERED in hickeys) just smacked his ass and stole a stack of pancakes. He doesn’t even react he just makes more. This is the best for his touch starvation.

And oblivious people(you know who) dont realize most of them are lesbians using him as a beard, (ignoring the makeouts and pride flags in the background of some videos) and they absolutely believe Luo Binghe seduced a crowd of women into a harem by the power of cooking, cleaning, and great sex.

The Question

"What would you do, Jyn, if you fall out of love with Cassian?"

The question startles Jyn.

She looks at her coworker, one that seems to have an odd glint in her eye. Fuck, she knows that look. It's the look of prodding, of testing the waters. But she is not Jyn Erso for nothing, so she smiles.

And remembers how Cassian carried her up the stairs when she was having her period and the elevator was being on maintenance. How he brings her breakfast in bed, how he simply holds her when she is having a bad day. How he always asks, 'are we brainstorming or ranting?' whenever she just wants to say something and he acts according to her answer. How he sends her little texts during the day, sometimes, a simple heart emoji. How he lets her make mess in the kitchen and he simply just laughs. How he looks at her like a ravenous beast that she would always happily throw herself at. How neither feel the need to fill the silences that fall between them. How he simply gets her little trinkets or books when he travels because he thought she would enjoy them.

She thinks of the elation she feel every time she catches him staring. How she never knew how lost she felt until she found herself in the circle of his arms. How she's excited to see him at the end of the work day. How she loves the way his eyes sparkle in laughter. How free she feels to make a fool out of herself knowing he'd simply match her madness.

She thinks of the love they share.

She thinks of how they are so well matched, that even Leia told her that she was glad that they gotten together on their own, for Han was thinking of locking them in a room together.

She thinks of how for once, she understands fairy tales and the promises of happily ever after.

Because she knows that the love she has for Cassian will never end. It grows, it's like the tide that comes in, sometimes softly, something with fury. She knows that she has found in him her home, her anchor in a storm, her guidance, her best friend, her lover. The future father of her children. She knows that with the certainty of how she knows the sun will rise and set again and again. There is a comfort she has found and one that she is not willing to let go easily.

This is a love that will see her bloody her knuckles if she must. This is a love that will be a shelter. This is a love that weather just about anything. This is a love that is forever. The kind you only find in a story, in a song.

So, she takes a sip of her coffee, looking over the rim of her cup at her coworker, sets her cup down and shrugs, "Nothing. For I'll be dead and buried when that happens."

I imagine them to be a happy family in the modern AU where Fengxian and Lakan are married and Lahan and Maomao are their children. Fengxian would be strict but she very much dotes on her kids (just not as obviously as Lakan, but who can compare with Lakan).

I feel like Lakan would be a lawyer which would put his skills to use, whereas Fengxian would be an academic in mathematics, and of course they're both super good at xiangqi and go in different ways. (I'd like to think Fengxian taught Lahan a lot of maths when he was younger and that encouraged his love for the subject).
