The funniest "early family reunion" on the Death Star / crack canon divergence AU that I can think of right now is Darth Vader and C-3PO. Threepio gets separated from the others somehow and ends up running into Darth Vader in some random hallway, and it's just a real "What." moment for Darth Vader. (Threepio is screaming in terror and begging for his life, of course.)

Because, like, that's the droid that HE built for his mom. That's the droid that followed his wife around during the Clone Wars. What the fuck is Threepio doing HERE??? NOW??? Did Obi-Wan (Vader has still caught the Kenobi vibes on the station here, obviously) have Threepio for the past NINETEEN years? That asshole. That sounds SO annoying, too. Good. Obi-Wan deserves that.

Thankfully, this is not as catastrophic as Vader getting R2-D2, because Threepio has had a memory wipe and no one ever tells Threepio much of anything (he's got some information on the Rebellion but most of it is outdated, especially after the destruction of Alderaan). But Threepio has spent the past two days or so hanging out with Luke Skywalker, and also witnessed the destruction of the Lars farm, both of which as revelations may cause Vader to flip out in weird ways. (Artoo is STILL around too??? That traitor.) Possibly, this may be enough of a distraction to allow Obi-Wan to actually slip away and live, but maybe not.

The important thing is that Threepio is taken off the Death Star somehow, so he can become "Death Vader's gaudy gold-plated protocol droid who has anxiety and is annoying as hell but Vader takes him EVERYWHERE". Imperial soldiers from random troopers up to genuinely important Admirals occasionally have to deal with "droid-sitting" duty while Vader is out doing scary, evil Force of Nature stuff and they all hate it, because Threepio never shuts up, has a knack for wandering off (he's trying to pull a daring escape) and nearly getting himself torn to pieces (people have actually gotten hurt trying to follow him), and most people don't have the guts to just turn Darth fucking Vader's pet droid off for a little while. Vader COULD just reprogram him or put in a restraining bolt or take Threepio's legs off, but he can just pick Threepio up with the Force, so it's whatever to him. (There IS a tracker installed, but Threepio doesn't actually know where to run anyway.)

Threepio's official role is "translator" for Darth Vader, which Threepio has somehow taken to also mean "mediator". So, whenever an Imperial officer is getting threatened by Vader, there's a stuffy protocol droid behind him saying things like, "Oh my! I'd listen to him if I were you! What happened to the last fellow was rather unpleasant," and, "It's impossible to get good help these days, isn't it, Master Vader?" and it sucks. The only one who could really do anything to stop this is the Emperor and Darth Sidious couldn't care less about his apprentice's latest purse dog droid.

Unclear whether or not Vader at this point actually has any real fondness for this piece of his past / reminder or his lost loved ones, is just super lonely, secretly thinks Threepio's surprisingly deadly antics are funny, or is using Threepio as bait for R2-D2 (come get him, you little fucker) and the others. Might be a combination of all these things.

Skywalkers apart au! It's so precious that Anakin gets to be a dad, a rebellion general Dad but he gets to be there for at least one of them and Padme survives and gets to be a mom and maybe someday they get to meet and it's so good.

Also the concept of General Skywalker of the Rebellion feels like it has so much potential cause he was such a big figure in the Clone Wars, he was the Hero, the General, he could probably get the various splinter rebel cells (they were very divided in the early Rebellion) to follow him by sheer reputation and charisma. Imagine Anakin being at Hoth, like the attack is going along the usual Imperial imminent victory and suddenly an AT-AT has been thrown clear across the landscape and an announcement sounds out "General Skywalker has entered the field" cue Rebel Counterattack due to morale boost and Imperial Panic.

What happened to the 501st here? Did he go to the Venator's crash site where Ahsoka was during Order 66 what did he think when he saw all the dead folks?

Fun thought, Starkiller being the apprentice in this AU, means that Sidious has probably been comparing him to Anakin (in part because he's bitter he didn't fall, in other part cause it's great for fueling the darkside) for years so the first time they face off he's gonna be full of spiteful hatred (all going according to plan) before Starkiller gets styled on by the Skywalker, cause Anakin isn't crippled by the suit and that means he's still massively powerful in the force and skilled in the blade (Vader was too, but less than a whole Anakin), I could see Anakin pulling a Lightside version of the Rogue One Hallway scene against Stormtroopers (or even inquisitors).

Rebel General Anakin Skywalker would be an Imperial Boogeyman.

Leia would probably appreciate it for a while but also she'd get a bit annoyed about her dad's reputation and "Legend" and the fact that she's probably got that entire thing to measure up to, making her more reckless or foolhardy. That's a big shadow to live under.

Padme on the other hand is probably in a very different situation reputation wise, she was the senator for the new Emperor's home planet, she's the old queen of naboo from the Trade Federation attack, she's a founding member of one of the oldest discrete rebellion cells but that still leaves some stigma. She's probably so very worried about Imperial surveilance on her or Luke or the rest of her family, and it doesn't help that the Inquistorious has probably been sniffing around for a while.

YES!! yes absolutely! tbh i decided a while back he never gets an official promotion to general, everyone just calls him General Skywalker for so long that it sticks loll. BUT YEAH I mean working with a Jedi is rare and awe-inspiring enough for any rebellion cell but working with the hero with no fear??? half the rebels are wondering if they can interrupt this mission to ask for his autograph

its extra funny bc for the first few years of the empire he's lowkey depressed and like agh i failed the order republic AND my family i'm a terrible horrible no good jedi who nearly turned to the dark side and while he's having this spiral there's some rebel standing next to him pointing and pogging

and yeah he's SO useful in big battles like that!! he's half a legend, half a ghost story, given most ppl think he died in the Purge but here he is, enacting justice on the empire!! tho he does struggle on quieter missions (which happen a lot more at first bc gotta hide from the empire) that you cant just blaze into. its a difficult shift to go from clone wars general skywalker to rebel general skywalker

yeah 501st same as canon ): but OHHH MY GOD yes thats SUCH A PERFECT IDEA, Anakin going with Rex and Ahsoka to the site and mourning them all (and probably going into another depression spiral lbr)

youre so right lollll obvs leia loves the one up she has in an argument of "well my dad's general skywalker, beat that" but as u say she absolutely wants to live up to that (+ is a very independent/stubborn person and would like Leia Skywalker, not just "General Skywalker's daughter" lol)

AND YEAH ABSOLUTELY Padmé and Anakin's roles in this au are both so interesting (is that egotistical to say) bc they're these upside down versions of their clone wars roles, both very loud people forced to quieten down and be Discreet about how they go abt helping ppl. Padmé is really struggling hiding so much (luke's force sensitivity, her rebel activities, all relations to anakin) and trying to protect Luke while helping the Rebellion WHILE trying not to seem suspicious. a lot on her plate -- only made worse by palpatine keeping a close-ish eye on her, and she can't tell why (is it bc of luke? the rebellion? anakin? or is it just his old favouritism or patriotism being VERY inconvenient??)

on the inquisitors, obvs you don't see a lot of them on coruscant -- but padmé's SO scared abt ppl (MAINLY SIDIOUS WHO, YA KNOW, TRIED TO TURN LUKE'S DAD SITH) finding out abt him and she hates that she's making him repress this part of himself but what choice does she have???

Ensign Lars: Human Resources

Star Wars AU in which Luke Skywalker intends to sign up for the Imperial Flight Academy but doesn't meet the height standards, so he settles for the next best choice: Imperial Department of Human Resources.

Luke is 16 when he heads to the imperial garrison in Anchorhead with the intention of enrolling into the Imperial Flight Academy, he didn't take into account the fact that there may or mey not be a height requirement for that

But you know, he's already there, he still wants to get out of his planet and hopefully see the stars with the added benefit of getting that sweet sweet imperial salary, so our boy signs up for the next best choice: the newly formed Human Resources department of the Imperial Military.

So, our boy has a great and easy time getting thru the training process, he's apparently a natural at reading people, their intentions and whether someone is breaking some rule or protocol somewhere near him,, who knows why

Anyway, Luke "Lars" graduates and gets his first assignment, which luckily for him is one of the Navy's star destroyers, so at the end of the day he'll still be able to roam the stars like he always wanted

Oh, what ship you ask? Of course, the Devastator, Lord Vader's flagship

Had Luke known why that ship was in dire need of a human resources officer and he would've listened to his instructor and acceped the offer for the Chimaera instead, but he's a Skywalker and he won't back down from a challenge

Working with Lord Vader was an absolute nightmare. Why? Because this man has a single objective in his life and it appears to be giving Luke enough work to last him a lifetime between having to rehire a quarter of the personnel on a yearly basis and spending half of his days writing letters to the families of the "laid off" personnel and trying to explain that their child has left the land of the living because Lord Vader doesn't tolerate soldiers tripping on a mouse droid within his hearing range

The good side is that at least there are enough competent people so that efficiency is not a problem in the Devastator

Luke still has a bone to pick with Lord Vader murdering half of his hires tho. Let's just say that as a little revenge plot he may or may not have intentionally hired heavily incompetent people to fill those gaps while he's looking for actual decent hires so that his boss can share just a tiny bit of his suffering too

Luke thinks something really creepy is happening with this Count Palpatine, but he can't quite put his finger on it. He's good with making the best of things after all, and frankly his Tatooine based firm sending him off planet to do this audit was a dream come true. This part of the planet was nice and cool and he thought it was pretty in its own way if a bit creepy. Besides, he has lots of time to write messages to his fiance, Mara.

Mara feels like Luke's messages are getting increasingly weirder, even for a farmboy. She shows his messages to Leia, Colonel Veers, Dr. Han Solo, and Captain Piett, as well as the twins' estranged father, Professor Anakin Skywalker. Anakin is suspicious from the get go, having had many vampiric encounters around the galaxy.

Mara travels to Naboo when a message reaches her that Luke is very ill. Around the same time, back on Alderaan, mysterious things start happening and Anakin travels from Coruscant to meet them when he hears of this and informs them that they are dealing with a very powerful vampire who is creating more vampires on Alderaan. They form a small band and begin to make a name for themselves as they hunt and kill vampires. But they can't seem to catch the main one.

Mara and Luke return from Naboo with Luke much improved and happy to announce that Mara is his wife. Mara shares what she learned from Luke and the medics about Count Palpatine. This confirms Anakin's suspicions about the identity of the powerful vampire. Piett---being very skilled with weaponry--- sources silver imbued knives. Mara produces her own from the sheath on her leg---Anakin sees the glint in her eye that doesn't bode well for Palpatine.

Mara begs Luke to kill her if she is to be cursed to be a vampire after her death. Luke is fiercely determined this won't happen and it is he who decapitates Count Palpatine as Dr. Solo stabs him through the heart with one of the wooden stakes Veers had carved for them all. Due to the success of this unlikely team in killing Palpatine, they decided to go into the Vampire hunting business around the galaxy, and so the SSD Executor, captained by Piett, strikes fear in the dead hearts of vampires when she appears in a system.

Luke didn't take into account how he could get tossed into the sea when he was on that mission; he didn't think he'd wake up in someone else's house. There were a man, his baby, and his dog, you see. You'd have to understand — Luke wanted to be a part of it.

Din thinks his biggest problem is going to be hiding his attraction to Grogu’s Scout leader, that is, until he hears something start to follow them through the woods.

Grogu needed this, so why was he being selfish and hoping to deny it? or Where Din is Grogu's foster dad and he convinces himself its just for a short while, until one day he's contacted about a couple that wants to adopt the kid and he realizes he can't imagine a life without him.

Luke is trying to adapt to his new life: out of the Navy, in a new town with his newly-found sister, following the death of their long-estranged father. Then he meets a Force-sensitive kid and his single dad at a playground. Luke isn't sure about getting into a relationship with a single father. Din's not sure Luke's ready either. Can they work it out? Yeah, they can. They do. That's the story.

Scanning the paper, Din's eyes fall onto a listing that he had somehow missed. Right at the bottom of the page, in smudged black ink, is a listing from the natural history museum looking for a new nighttime security guard. Now that was an interesting thought. - Or, Din is a struggling single father who becomes the natural history museum's new night guard. He's not expecting much out of the job other than a steady paycheque, but when the sun goes down and the exhibits start to come to life, Din needs to find a way to keep everything under control. Back in the day, I posted a list of fics (centered on the character of Darth Vader, in relation to Leia in particular) that left a strong impression on me as a reader. As part of a 2023 resolution to ease back into active reading, I wanted to shout out some newer stories that have equally grabbed my imagination. Like the original list, these stories are focused on Vader, especially if not exclusively in dialogue with Leia.

For context, I look for stories that grapple with the suit, with its effects, so you can expect medical and psychological horror as a theme. I also really like the kinds of horror stories you can tell with a character like Vader: I'm drawn to stories abounding with ghosts and gore. tl;dr - you can expect graphic depictions of violence and body horror, and please heed the tags on the fics themselves.

It's a thankless task to try and explain why this hits so hard, in multiple registers; the premise is gruesome, hilarious, the scene gothic-romantic and post-apocalyptic, the characters melancholy, bitter, unleashed, and cruel, somehow also at their best.

The threads of life he’d felt slipping away were clutched fiercely now, as though for the first time since the Emperor’s death—for the first time in Luke’s lifetime possibly—his father had a reason to survive.

It's never explicitly established in ROTJ whether Vader picked up that Luke's sister was Leia or merely called the word, the feeling from his mind; this story launches from the premise that he was going to die in ignorance, and that learning Leia is his daughter gives him a reason to hold on, to actively atone. There's tremendous humor and sadness and discomfort here; Vader is at once pitiable and impossible to pity, and Leia's perspective gives room for many shades of ambivalence to fester and bloom.

Vader survives the second Death Star with no inkling that his daughter is Leia; separated from Luke during a hurried last-second escape, he ends up having to fend for himself, half-dead and without his suit, to the point of negotiating with the Alliance on his own. There's splendid tension here from the fact that Leia knows more than he does; even exposed as an invalid, on hunger strike, and at a knowledge disadvantage, Vader remains palpably dangerous, volatile, compelling.

When suddenly some of the rich and powerful of the galaxy begin to disappear and later turn up dead on a consistent basis, it worries both the Empire and the Alliance enough to open up an investigation. Only half-heartedly though, because there's also the matter of the war to distract them. That is, until Darth Vader disappears...

I love this set-up: Vader, deprived of his mask and further neutralized with Force binders, ends up shut up in a prison cell with Leia, and she can't begin to guess as to why.

Backstory:

Ahsoka still left the Jedi Order but during the time away, she fell into the dark side.

Years later, Obi-Wan had also fallen into the dark side. Obi-Wan had been the one to kill Count Dooku. Later on, he had kidnapped Padme and "killed" her after the twins were born then separated the twins to make Anakin believe that they were all dead.

Anakin only knows that Obi-Wan had turned to the Dark side, not that Ahsoka had also turned.

Order 66 is the same as it is, except Caleb Dume, Cal Kestis and some other Padawans were taken in by the new Empire.

Anakin used his ship to travel far away from Coruscant, trying to figure out how to bring back the Republic.

A few years later, he rescued Thrawn from getting executed after Thrawn tried to use his name to get into the Empire but failed horribly. Since then, they both went on as Rebels, trying to stop the Empire as much as they could. They even rescued R2 D2, who had been taken by Obi Wan as well.

After that, they managed to rescue ex-ISB Agent Kallus, whose batch of soldiers were executed by Imperial head Garazeb Orrelios because of Treason (they killed Lasat soldiers that were attacking them first).

Then they stumbled upon Karyn Faro, who had been in the Imperial Academy but had been hiding as a Vigilante after she blew up a factory or two during her time in the academy.

Later on, they stumble upon Eli Vanto, who was Force Sensitive (for this AU) and was working for his family's company in terms of supplies and trades, but his parents and siblings were killed by the Empire after a bad delivery.

And that's how they all came to be as the new Ghost Crew ^^

Welcome to the Pieder ship! And thank you for your interest in C&C, I’m glad you’re enjoying it. 🥳

The main C&C books are up in the air atm, as decided to go a lil’ bit of a different direction from what I initially a couple years after I originally posted Obsequies and Treason... I have a lot worked out in my head at this point but less written unfortunately, ha. The Obsequies rewrite has been getting worked on in bits and pieces and is alllmmooosssttt completed but, alas, real life with its pressures and problems. 🙃

<p>Chirrut is a Pharisee who contracted cataracts in his youth. He is a master of oral tradition with a brilliant memory. </p>

<p>Baze went off and fought alongside Judas of Gamala . He left them when Chirrut became blind, and they've been on the run from both the zealots and the Romans ever since. </p>

<p>Chirrut, given the period, was probably literally Pals with Jesus. Or at least a pleasant verbal sparring partner. </p>

<p>Bodhi Rook, not a Jew, is also from the province. Perhaps one of the Greek cities, or the son of an immigrant from Syria. Seeking a better life for his family after his father's death he took work as an animal handler for the Roman Army in that province. Swift and light, he eventually became a message carrier. </p>

<p>Saw Gerrera and the Partisans are Zealots. </p>

<p>Galen Erso is a Romanized Greek; Lyra full Roman by parentage but raised alongside Saw. </p>

<p>Cassian is from Hispania. Specifically, Kenari and Fest are both Basque country. Need to do research on the specifics, see Cantabrian wars, but he's taken in by a couple living in the west of Spain after their death. The big economic trade of hispania is olive oil of course, and other kinds of farming, but let's assume he didn't get such a connected life. Perhaps first a mining village or something, yes they had those, or brickmaking. Something that could lead to a village being destroyed and all the adults killed. After that some sort of blacksmith thing. Then foster parent gets executed (not crucified, just hung), foster mom and him are stuck salvaging and odd jobs in their new community. FYI, he was raised speaking proto-Basque. So… yeah. Language barrier from hell as a child, which in fact led to his sister being left behind in the mountains when he was nabbed. Then he gets in trouble with the authorities, debt slavery as a kid, then later prison, hard labor again, being voluntold into the Roman Army and desertion, etc etc etc. Most of it is a one to one correspondence although Narkina IV is probably mining tar, because I figure that Greek fire would be the equivalent to the death star here. </p>

<p>Really, the clone wars backstory is likely multigenerational. So Palpatine wouldn't be just one, no, it would be two … or three! </p>

<p>Born a slave, to a slave woman in Tunisia. A couple of Roman elite soldiers or augers come along and buy him. Ani is an amazing horseman, natural jockey, and an intuitive sailor. Really a genius at everything. They buy his freedom and adopt him. Qui-Gon dies, Ani joins the Roman legions. Excels. He climbs the ranks (see Miscellany) as a soldier and politician. Eventually he saves enough and gets an opportunity to find and free his mother, while accompanying a noblewoman to Egypt, only to learn she was killed and died. He goes, finds the nearest people who match the description, kills them. </p>

<p>The noblewoman is of course Padme Amidala of the house of Ptolemy. She is a Greek Egyptian, see? This is relevant because it allows Luke and Leia to have coloring that conceals them where we put Alderaan. But that's later. </p>

<p>Out in Egypt the two marry. But then Ani is called away to quell a "slave revolt" on the other side of the empire. Yah.</p>

<p>By the way, the Chiss? They are the Picts. Blue man group solidarity, dudes. Hehehe. Actually, I'm thinking that the Chiss would be the Han Dynasty, or perhaps even the New World. </p>

Whether Cassian and Jyn survive, eh. 50-50. I'd give them the live option myself though. There's no death star, and even though the ancient world didn't really do handrails and OSHA, they also didn't have blasters. They had slings and arrows…. Which… </p>

Leia loves being a librarian and weaponizing this knowledge at exceedingly boring upper crust parties. She's rubbish with a pistol but incredible with a sword and loves her brother even when he's a fathead.

Luke crashes his cars on a regular basis, not because he isn't good at driving but because technology in the 1920s is not able to give him the speeds he'd like to go. It's frankly miraculous he's not been more seriously injured. Given that Anakin Skywalker disappeared years ago during the Great War and is presumed dead, Luke honors him by continuing the passion for automobiles and driving.

Han Solo REALLY didn't want to go with the crazy Brits on this dumb ass mission to Hamunaptra, but hey it got him out of prison and being hanged. He has to unfortunately travel with Warden Jabba who wants his share of this spectacular treasure, but Han figures he can give Jabba the slip when this is over. Besides, the insane librarian is sort of cute in an obsessive, bossy way.

This mysterious Darth Vader who leads the Medjai is eventually recognized by Luke and Leia as their long lost father. His memory was affected and he joined the Medjai shortly after his medical release from the military in 1916. He and his band must now help to defeat the horrific power of Palpatine, the High Priest, whom Leia accidentally resurrected. Somehow, he returned after all. ;D

It's a narrowly won fight and the Skywalkers and Solo are glad of the help of the Medjai. Luke discovers that his insane driving instincts translate well to sprinting through tunnels ahead of mummy zombies, while Leia discovers that certain Americans are quite charming when they're fighting back to back for their lives. Anakin decides to stay with his band in Egypt, among whom are some very competent fighters named Firmus and Max, but he promises to visit his children in England soon.

luke skywalker has me in a chokehold, i regret nothing but sorry for the mess. this isn't really a fic, more like an outline? (it’s my first tumblr post, pls let me know if i effed things up)

luke goes missing, presumably taken by imperial remnants. after about a week, leia is no longer able to sense luke in the force, they fear the worst.

a month or so later, luke arrives back home, injured but alive. he escaped, destroying the base he was taken to in the process.

when asked what happened, luke says they were trying to experiment on the force, so he closed himself off, causing leia to perceive he was dead. then how did i escape? luke doesn’t have a full idea of the experiments but he managed to grab an encrypted chip of data

time has been odd in the lab. there are some points he cannot remember entirely. some are vague impressions. some he remembers two sets of events.

luke has trouble reconnecting to the force. whatever he did to disconnect himself it was done instinctively and too well. despite luke standing right in front of them, leia and grogu have difficulty sensing him. the two do their best to find a fix, leia through research, grogu through connecting with force ghosts.

it takes a moment for anakin, obiwan and yoda to recognize luke. his force signature is muted, desaturated. they hesitate. they suggest luke to meditate with other force users, to have them aid and coax the force and luke to reconnect. for a moment, it was as if luke was an abyss, a black hole in the force.

luke works on decrypting the chip. he’s worried about the experiments that were conducted in the lab. what if they target other force users? what if they target leia and grogu? he doesn’t ask others for their help on the chip. he is afraid. he knows it shouldn’t be, but his family is everything.

when luke dreams at night, he no longer has nightmares. but he cannot recall the rush of joy when he found out leia was his sister. the thrill of flying his x wing. the overwhelming love when he first kissed din. he knows what emotions were felt at the time but the feeling is out of reach.

din does not understand the force, so he does what he can instead. he provides and protects. he brews tea when luke is frustrated over the lack of progress, he tucks a tired grogu in bed after meditation. luke and din may not have exchanged wedding vows yet but they know their relationship is true. din, grogu, and luke, a clan of three. din’s whole world. he never expected to have a family once more after the droids had taken his first one from him.

luke decrypts the chip. he wish he hadn’t. how can this be true? he’s luke skywalker, always has been and always will be. he was born to padme amidala and anakin skywalker. he was raised in tattooine by uncle owen and aunt beru. he had fought in the rebellion against the empire. he— he— he slices down his left arm. he sees wires.

leia and grogu are able to sense the bond with luke once more. he is able to send basic thoughts to them, he is able to levitate objects, his strength in the force grows daily. a black hole.

they are attacked and luke is injured when trying to protect the children. they were distracted, several of luke’s students had fallen ill. there is no blood, only oil and sparks. then what were these fluids running down his face?

droids had destroyed din’s world once. he knows they were only puppets, ordered by their master, but the shadowed mastermind was not the one that littered the streets of his childhood home with corpses. droids are the symbol of violence, of trauma, of lost happiness. din dislikes droids, din is afraid of droids. luke skywalker is an android.

who is he? what is he? he looks like luke skywalker. he has memories of luke skywalker. he acts like luke skywalker. but he is no longer made of flesh and blood. it's no longer only his right hand that is made of wires and gears. who does that make him? what does that make him? what makes luke skywalker who he is?

the android is a ticking time bomb. a vacuum that siphons and steals. a parasite. its "will" does not matter. it was created for a purpose. both an experiment and a puppet. can the force be stolen? can a non-force user wield the force? can they leash luke skywalker?

robota. it doesn’t matter if “luke skywalker” wants to protect his family. its purpose was not to give, only to take.

din goes to the ruined lab. there is barely anything left after the explosion. but he finds mangled steel and wires that seems to have come from a hand. he holds it tightly to his chest, whispering apologies and words of love. he buries it at the base of the tree that luke loved (loves) to meditate under.

“luke” loves his family and his family love luke. the luke who is no longer here, the luke that is the true owner of these memories and feelings. he is an imposter, a thief that stole luke’s home and family. but isn’t he luke in all parts that matter?

smiles, tears, compassion, strength, the good, the bad. it’s all the same. then isn’t that enough?

leia sees her brother, han and chewie see their friend, r2d2 and c3po see their companion, grogu sees his teacher and din. din sees—

din sees blue eyes. leia and din hold luke's hand. they visit where he is buried. "welcome home, luke."
