WAIT WAIT WAIT i need to hear about the 141 paranormal investigators omg???

OKAY SO

Basically it's like, a non-military AU where they have a youtube channel and investigate haunted places and look for cryptids and junk. Ghost is the camera/editing guy, Gaz and Johnny handle social media and are the primary faces, and John is a professor of Mythology and Folklore on extended leave that became a permanent fixture after they interviewed him too many times. They're on an American road trip, and they chance upon a hidden town full of actual supernatural people and creatures. Cue shenanigans while the townspeople try not to get caught on camera. Also they meet a hot witch who runs the B&B (the only place to stay in town).

Here's some of all this silliness:

“Relax, Soap.” Price used his stern teaching voice, the one that could command a rowdy hall of college students (most of whom were only taking his class because they thought it would be an easy credit) to be quiet and pay attention. “If we get lost you’ll get to gloat about bein’ right, how about that?”

“Rather no’ get lost, but Ah suppose it’ll do.”

Simon and Gaz exchanged a look, both of them trying not to laugh. They were an odd bunch, by any metric. Gaz had started a youtube channel reviewing local businesses around Manchester while he was attending university, which is where he had met Simon (Or Ghost, as he had introduced himself back then), who had been the butcher at a shop Gaz wanted to review. Ghost had been told to give Gaz a tour, so he had, reluctantly, and Gaz had gone home later that week to find Ghost sitting in front of his computer, editing the video.

“You do shite work,” he’d said, the only explanation he had offered for his presence in Ga’s apartment. “Fine substance, but terrible camera an’ editin’.”

And well, Ghost’s video had done a lot better than any of Gaz’s previous ones, so he’d asked him to continue. Ghost suggested moving on to different content as well, to exploring some of the spookier sites around Manchester (Of which Ghost seemed to be intimately familiar, unnervingly enough), and they had interviewed Price a few times to give the videos an air of legitimacy, since he was a professor of mythology and folklore at Gaz’s university.

Johnny had been their missing link, however. They’d gone to do a video in Glasgow, and kept running into him everywhere they went. He’d provided some useful local knowledge, and had a channel of his own, where he mostly blew stuff up and did parkour around the city. The Glasgow videos all went viral, and the channel suddenly became something they could potentially throw themselves into doing on a more full time basis.

Price, chafing at the routine of teaching, asked to join them on a more permanent basis as well. And since he had the two things that the rest of them lacked (A car and a savings account), they agreed. That had been four years ago. And somehow, it was working. They weren’t exactly making a lot of money, but they were getting by, and Price had written and published two new books, using their travel and research to pad out what might have otherwise been dry, academic work.

Simon flicked the radio back on, the van filling with the sharp sound of static. They’d lost their last station somewhere along the drive. He fiddled with the tuner until an upbeat, overly patriotic country song came in clear.

Gaz made a disgruntled sound in the backseat. He’d made his disdain for country music clear somewhere back in California.

“Just tryin’ to get a traffic report. Untwist your knickers, Gaz.”

“If we’d stayed on the main road we’d no’ need a report.” Johnny could never stop himself from throwing in his two pence. “We’d be in it.”

Price reached over for the volume, and turned up the music, drowning them out as one song switched to the next.

Anyway! Have some rambling about an AU I thought of in my discord server a while back (mostly just gonna copy/paste it lmao):

Ed's super into paranormal shit, runs one of those youtube channels that reads stories/shows videos of hauntings/etc. He desperately wishes for something paranormal to happen to him. His best friend/fwb/'whatever they got going on', Izzy, is a skeptic.

Ed's new boyfriend, Stede, insists that he's a medium and that there's something haunting Izzy's house. Izzy always has an explanation though. (The lights are flickering because the place is old as shit and the electricity is shot. There are cold spots because the windows are drafty and the house isn't well insulated The creaks and thumps are the house settling or animals in the crawl-space. Etc.)

Ed calls him a buzz-kill but ultimately lets him be with his explanations until something happens that could have legit hurt Izzy (Honestly not sure what yet, maybe something falls that shouldn't have been able to or he gets locked in the basement all night in the middle of winter? Something like that.) and Ed is worried so he asks his other friend, Jack (who has his own youtube channel, where he does paranormal investigations as a medium), to come over and have a look to see if he can help.

Izzy thinks they're all full of shit but Jack agrees to not record it for his channel so Izzy lets Ed have this because 'I care about you Iz. I know you don't believe in all this shit but I'm worried and it would just make me feel better, letting you keep staying in this place, if someone came and looked at it.' and Izzy can't say no to that.

Izzy's surprised Jack isn't more like Ed (who's got the whole goth aesthetic) or Stede (who's got the whole 'white gay appropriating other people's cultural myths for clout' vibe) but just a normal (if a little frat-like) dude.

Jack's understanding of him being a skeptic and doesn't try to convince him, just talks about what he is thinking and feeling. He even commends him for checking the practical possibilities first (had the place tested for black mold/replaced the co detectors/etc) and he keeps getting little digs in at Stede so he lets them keep doing their thing without much fuss.

So he's not as dickish as he could be when he's told 'Yeah I mean, Steve's picking up on something, but man he's just barely dipping his pinky-toe in it to be honest? My heebies are fully jeebied!'

Stede starts to object about the name but Ed jumps in with a 'So the house is haunted?'

And Jack's like 'No. Whatever's here, it's not here for the house. It's here for Izzy.'

(I don't have much of the in between, because I like concepts but am notoriously bad at following through, but the gist is: Izzy gets full on possessed at some point, they all manage to save him, and afterwards Jack takes him out on a date to Waffle House.)

hmmm actually do have some ideas... technically it's more a (teensy) alteration to some existing fic concepts I have that just centered around them.

Anyway the main one is a modern era au (whcih eh...) where there is some cultivation but it's pretty hidden and JC and NHS work as "ghost" hunters on a popular youtube channel/podcast

Anyway real cultivators hate them for making a mockery, sceptics think they're scammers, and people who believe they're killing ghosts are incorrect (they're not doing that on camera) and it's vibes.

NHS seems incapable fo taking anything seriously and has a running gag of refusing to admit ghosts/spirits/paranormal is real, on and off camera yet doesn't quit. (There are reasons for this)

JC is weirdly intense about this ghost hunting malarkey and really doesn't want NHS there yet doesn't fire him (There are also reasons for this)

Oh and JC and WWX used to run the channel together before WWX died. And it's connected. And people are like let that be a lesson to you.

There's also mystery and conspiracy going on. And custody battles.

Anyway the point is it probably wouldn't be that hard to make them get together in this but also idk if I want to explore writing romance in a fic I think is cool and plotty or maybe I should. Also lbr I can't write romance so the relationshp would likely just be intesne friendship anyway a la deadset but they don't hate each other and maybe kiss at some point. So i kinda want to do something short but I keep giving up on my short sangcheng fics after like 400 words.

I actually have some scenes written adn then so many more in my head (and irritatingly they're fully written out in sentences in my head but cba to write them down) so. Who knows. Maybe I'll actually be able to properly write more of it. Maybe doing an outlien would help...

weird vibes of I kinda almost lowkey wanna write Sangcheng except I think I'm incapable of writing them in a fic where they get along (or even like each other all that much) and I know I'm incapable of writing satisfying romance if the characters dont' like each other- or at least it can't end in romance so. Stumped.

I really like all the ideas you have for the Quarry gang in different AUs, like the superpowers or lingering werewolf changes.

But if each one of them was a different mystical/paranormal creature in hiding, who do you think would be what? Like maybe Max and Laura would still be werewolves, but we could have a vampire, harpy, kelpie, mermaid etc.

Can either be classic monsters or mythological creatures in hiding.

HERE WE GO

I apologize for how long it took me to answer this I rly needed to think about it.

I wanted to stick with a kinda spooky theme for all of them while also picking things that I felt matched with their vibes but I'm so happy with these.

Almost all of these creatures murder people for fun but we're going Teen Wolf style where these funky kids are doing their best not to murder anyone because they don't want to, also they're in hiding.

Also turned this into a full-on story Au. Apparently I can't help myself.

Max&Laura

I love the idea of them still being werewolves. And I love the headcanon of them being a cryptid hunting duo even more and I think that's where they all meet in this universe. I say that like I have the ability to write a fanfic. I do not. But I'll obsess anyway.

They're both werewolves, though they look more furry than the game designs. Still big and freaky but not as gobliny

They get paid to investigate "mysterious deaths" typically caused by creatures posing as humans. They probably get paid by Travis who's just a human cop who knows that monsters exist and hide among humans and needs a way to get rid of them without seeming like a crazy person. They hunt down said creatures and that's how they meet the others.

They're all innocent but Laura and Max need to scope out their vibes before they can find the things actually repsonsible.

Emma

Emma was the first one I thought of because there's so many hot monster ladies who kill men and she just has that vibe to her, but also I was looking for a real specific energy for the love of my life.

Lamia in Greek mythology are half snake half women who eat kids. They also seduce men and convince them to give them their kids and then kill the men too. They're known to pose as performers to get attention and scope out vulnerable targets and lure them in with their ethereal beauty.

They're basically spicy land mermaids and that's on being hot. Though they're technically a type of demon. Like I said, hot.

Some stories pitch them to have mind control abilities as an alternative to seducing their victims. They can also straight up induce fear to make people leave them alone or just outright scare them to death.

They can shapeshift to change their size to be like an eight feet tall monster snake lady and also shed the snake skin to just be hot human ladies. They can see into the future and they practice witchcraft 😌🤌💕

Emma is just the local beautiful woman™. She definitely still has a YouTube channel or a Tiktok account and sometimes does her scarily accurate tarot card readings. She just lives her life doin whatever because it's pretty easy for her the hide. She travels a lot because she wants to see what the world has to offer but this makes her suspicious to the lil hunting duo who assume she's roaming around leaving bodies behind.

Laura and Max find her minding her own business. Maybe she did kill someone but if Emma was killing anyone, they definitely deserved it.

Abi

For Abi I almost went with something cutesy but I was also leaning towards something ghosty related because of how much contact she has with Eliza in the game. I just wanted her to be powerful but completely unaware of it, like it was something dormant she had to unlock and I actually had two that are basically the same thing but with very different aesthetics.

Banshees are fairy/spirit ladies who appear when you are close to death. If you can hear her wails it means someone you know is going to die or you're going to be in danger sometime soon.

Dullahan's are also fairies and are also omens of death but they're headless (lol) and ride around on horses holding their magic heads that can see massively long distances. Both are rad but I'm sticking with Banshee for now which is also a Teen Wolf thing.

She can disorient you with her scream and deafen you if you're close enough. Tinnitus all around. They also have visions of the future. (blygbank fortune teller duo)

Eventually she works out how to see and talk to ghosts but for most of her life she's just plagued with confusing dreams and gets weird feelings in certain places that later turn out to be haunted, and around certain people who end up dying shortly after.

Abi doesn't know about her powers she just thinks she has the worst luck. Every now and then, she'll go somewhere and she'll see someone get hit by a car or spontaneously have a heart attack. She aimlessly goes for walks and always ends up near where an ambulance is parked in front of someone's house or on the side of the road. Because she's always around the scenes of crimes, Laura and Max think she's their target but they eventually see that's not the case.

She's subconsciously using her powers and I think Laura and Max are the ones who tell her that she's a banshee when they realise that she's clueless and definitely not a serial murderer.

Ryan

For Ryan I was thinking along the lines of mythical creatures who kept to themselves/had some kind of camoflauge or shapeshifting abilities but most of them were tiny chaotic creatures or things that seduced humans to kill them and none of that matches up with Ryan

Then I read about djinn/jinn/genies and they seemed more like what I was looking for.👀

They're typically reclusive, only interacting with humans they deem to be wise/intelligent enough to offer their power to. They're antisocial and picky about their company just like our good good boy.

But more specifically I was thinking Ryan would be a half-djinn. Since Djinn are invisible, wispy beings with god-like powers associated with demons since they can possess humans. But their offspring pass as slender, pretty humans. Which is kinda boring but I think his eyes glow and he gets all these coloured tattoos all over him if he's in his djinn form 😌🤌

Their powers are limited to shapeshifting and psychic-like abilities where they can make humans hallucinate, experience false realities and basically just mess with their minds in general. They can also see into or interfere with humans dreams like Djinn. But Djinn cause sleep paralysis and try to possess sleeping humans.

But since Ryan canonically has one (or two depending on your hc) absent parents. It matches up with a human getting down with a potentially evil being and having a funky magic baby.

Ryan mainly uses his powers to avoid people. He's not out looking to make people go crazy by breaking their brains, he just doesn't want to be cornered into a conversation with an acquaintance when he's trying to do his grocery shopping. So he'll do some minor mind-fucking to make them forget they saw him.

It also makes it SUPER hard for Laura and Max to find him. The first time one of them try to approach him, he instinctively makes them forget him because he's too shy to talk to strangers and then they have to start from square one again. Then they come back and accuse him of messing with their brain and he gets nervous, so he messes with their brains again.

Djinn also have the silver weakness and can be killed or trapped inside anything made of silver. So there's something in common with Laura and Max. Also it's super funny to think about them trying to get proof that he's a djinn by using silver while trying to not touch it themselves.

Dylan

I really wanted something intelligence or music related for my sweet boy and as I was searching GUESS WHAT I LEARNT

Sirens! Were originally! depicted as half-BIRD MEN! Who hung out on big rocks in the middle of the ocean and sang or played music. The stories varied between them doing it to cause mischief and get sailors killed or lost at sea. Or singing to warn sailors travelling through fog that were was stuff to hit their boat on or that a storm was coming. Then later they added lady sirens (or stories with lady sirens got more popular) and stories of them exclusively trying to lure sailors in with their voices to kill them started up. Then they changed it to fish people, then some boring asshole decided that it was just female sirens who lured men to their death. Probably some lame ass who didn't want to be lured to his death by a hot man. But I'm not a coward so I'm going with the OG lore.

The idea of Dylan with wings does in fact, make me go feral. Maybe he just has wings or maybe he gets feathers on his arms and bird feet when he's not in human form but either way he's ethereal. He has super soft hair. Beautiful bird boy.

He uses his charm powers mostly for his own gain, occasionally to help his friends out. If he gets lonely he'll go somewhere and hum or whistle a song and people will immediately come over to him and talk to him 🥰 He makes music and anyone who hears it feels compelled to reach out to him in some way. He has used it to get money many times and he'll do it again. But he doesn't make people fall in love with him because that's where his morals kick in. He doesn't use his powers to kill people, he just likes the attention. Because you can't convince me that if Dylan had the ability to make people pay attention to him, he wouldn't abuse the hell out of it.

I imagine that creatures with mind control-esq abilities are immune to his charm and he gets real mopey about it. Not because he's run into a potentially dangerous creature but because he got rejected and he's not used to that.

I think he singles out Max and lures him in because he's smart and figured out Max and Laura were tracking him. Cue Laura going to save her bf and her and Dylan recreating that picture of the cat with the shit-eating grin surrounded by knives (Laura's holding the knives)

I have another similar one for Dylan but Sirens are more noteable so I went with that.

Kaitlyn

I wasn't sure about Kaitlyn. My only prerequisite was that it had to be dope. I wanted to find some way to make her a dragon then I remembered wyverns were a thing and I saw stars.

The difference between dragons and wyverns is that wyverns are smaller and bipedal. They still walk on their hands and feet but they have hand claws instead of four legs. Some of them breathe fire, others have some kind of poison smog breath or spit acid. I can see Kaitlyn's bite and claws being poison when she's not in human form.

She has three forms. A human form, a half wyvern lady form and a full on wyvern. They're smart and like collecting/hoarding things. They're independent but inquisitive and like learning about human things which works with their interest in mechanics and engineering 😌🤌

She minds her own business and rarely goes into creature mode. She's a human 99.9% of the time because she's a responsible, tax paying member of society who doesn't feel the need to randomly use her powers for any reason. But when she does use it you better make sure you're on her side because she'll whoop your ass.

I'm also obsessed with Kaitlyn and Dylan being winged buddies. I think they met from Dylan luring her in when he was bored and once it wore off, she decided he was funny and harmless enough to not immediately kill. Now they're besties, They have to be besties in every au, I don't make the rules.

Laura and Max are real careful with tracking her because they know how tough she is and I'm debating whether they even tried to do so or not. Kaitlyn could definitely immediately tell they're werewolves and vice versa. Their animal instincts clocked each other right away. I think Kaitlyn went to them to find out why they were following her and then probably helped them find the real culprits after she scares the shit out of them.

Nick

I wanted SOMEONE to be a water dwelling creature and I had good arguments for most of them. I almost made Ryan the merman but I eventually settled on Nick.

My final decision was ultimately based on Nick being an adorable Australian shark merman since Australians are all about the beautiful beaches and swimming and the coral reef and all that good stuff.

Specifically he's a tiger shark, they have stripes down their sides, they're a little stupid and they're entirely food motivated. Like they'll swim through disaster weather just on the off-chance they'll find dead things to eat when every other species of shark swims away from the area for safety.

There's a bunch of different stories about merfolk and what they're capable of in terms of shapeshifting but I'm going with the style where they can either have the half fish body or human legs whenever they want. They can live on land for as long as they want without it affecting them physically but they do feel an urge to be near water. Which is why I think Nick is a lifeguard in his spare time. He just has the vibe of those handsome, charming lifeguards.

There are stories about how merfolk would innocently try to take humans they liked to their underwater kingdoms, which resulted in the humans drowning or their lungs crushing from the sudden change in pressure because they swim down so fast. Which is so bimbo/himbo of them tbh but it makes sense they wouldn't know humans can't breathe in both air and water like they can. But that's why Nick's a lifeguard because he's well aware these humans are fragile and they need a lot of taking care of.

They can read minds which is how they talk underwater but Nick knows not to pry. He's polite. Living on land gave him human etiquette.

He has a set of human teeth and a set of pointy shark teeth that he can retract and he's real strong. Similar to the werewolves, he can smell blood and it can potentially send him into a bit of a frenzy if he's hungry or you just catch him on a bad day mentally. Luckily he's a generally happy boy and doesn't have a lot of bad days but when he has a bad day, it's a real bad day. (Future cryptid friend group HC is that Dylan or Emma have to calm him down by charming him before he goes rabid and tried to eat someone. Same with the werewolves.)

Laura and Max absolutely hate this job because it's entirely water based. The dude is constantly in and out of water and covered in water. In the end, Max literally just walks up to Nick and chats to him about the weird deaths in the area and Nick is SO friendly and helpful and after half a conversation with him they know he's not the culprit but they DO wanna hang out with him.

Jacob

I was at a loss for Jacob, I truly just had no idea he could be. We don't have any info about his family dynamics or his interests that could spawn some train of inspiration in my head like the others do and this was sixty percent of the reason it took me so long to write this.

He has a similar energy to Abi where he just doesn't know what's going on most of the time so I played off that. Eventually I decided on him being a mythical creature by proxy. As in, he's possessed by something that turns him into a monster.

Y'all heard of a show called Teen Wolf?/sarcasm

There's a being called the Kanima which is a South American myth that involves a shapeshifter in the form of a were-jaguar. It's known as a demonic spirit that brings misfortune to everyone it's near. If you're out in the woods and you keep experiencing bad luck; tripping, stuff from trees falling on you, getting attacked by animals, it's a sign that the Kanima is after you.

It has the power to posses humans or animals and it's stare can drive the recipient insane. They have a paralyzing poisonIt can't fully suppress the consciousness of the one they're possessing unless they're asleep or knocked out. The spirit is only released if the one they're possessing dies and I think this is the final chapter in this little cryptid hunting story.

Jacob went out for a walk one day, was even more unlucky than usual and didn't come home. Kaitlyn and him are definitely still friends in this universe and she started getting concerned/suspicious when Jacob popped up the next morning acting like he didn't know what happened the previous night.

Her instincts are telling her something's wrong, she calls Laura and Max and they also can't do anything. When the Kanima reveals itself they can't get close to it because if the stare and the poison. Not only that, everything goes wrong, their car breaks down, they hurt themselves in ridiculous ways, all because of the Kanima. Kaitlyn can fight him but her poison doesn't work on him and the stare would make her go crazy.

They end up calling all their new friends to see if any of them can help. Abi's new to this, she might be able to help but she's not ready for combat. Nicks strong enough to fight it and would love to help but one look from the Kanima would make Nick go into a frenzy. Dylan could pacify and lure him in but he absolutely does not want to get close to it because he'd get messed up by the poison and the stare.

At the end of the day Emma and Ryan are also demon-esq and they're the only ones immune to the poison and insanity stare. Emma pacifys him while Ryan roots around in his mind to essentially disable the Kanima so it can't take control of Jacob anymore.

Now Jacob just has the strength and speed of the Kanima. In Teen Wolf it's like a gross lizard thing but when I look up were-jaguars, they're just these big ol' hell-demon-cats so that's what he can turn into because that's sick. Parkour time for this lad.

Jay is Dr.Julian's first nindroid prototype who's power source doesn't work so he's sent to the junkyard, ed and edna find the weird looking robot cute and decide to put him by the junkyard entrance instead of scrapping him, one day he gets struck by lightning -which is actually the element of lightning because this is the same day Libber died- and comes to life

Ed and Edna raise him like their own and also since his parents are inventors he adds a bunch of cool stuff to himself like jets/gliders so he can fly and a welding torch and stuff

Ed and Edna are assassins/inventors who turn their son Jay into a living weapon (think cyborg) they trained him to follow orders exactly and replaced how limbs with mechanical ones with different functions.

One day that find the skeleton army's weapon maker (dr.julain) ad get the blueprints for a nindroid they could improve and make better then Jay they decide he's no longer needed.

They leave him in a forest to rot telling him that they'll be back (they won't) 

Eventually Nya and Kai find Jay and Nya fixes him up a bit with her then rudimentary but lastly growing knowledge of mechanics.

 Jay then decides to stick around these kids/adopt himself into the smith family lol

figured i'd ramble about what i noticed, because god knows this won't be leaving my brain for a good while.

ARGINNIT THEORY TIME

(EDIT 8/11/2021: Yea now Wilbur has confirmed it wasn't an ARG but I'm still keeping this up. Just think about it as speculation or a cool au. I think regardless of whether it was an ARG or a bit the art and theories and conversation about it were really cool and fun!)

Tommy is acting... off, even during the apple bobbing. On his second attempt for a minute it seems like he's trying to drown himself, and even for Tommy the level of his struggle seemed a little ridiculous

Theres a couple of comments about the cold (a la argbur), but i dunno how much that counts considering it's autumn over there and water generally does that to you. though, it is notable considering Tommy continues to keep piling on more warm layers, even when inside...

Tommy says he's had a "premonition", and Ranboo asks if they're going to die. It was definitely in reference to the apple bobbing vote, and probably a bit, but still notable

This interaction; "How was it drowning?" "Well it was uh- You know, I'll- I'll- I'll- I'll- ahh- I'll um be honest-" "I think you should've stayed for longer" "I saw-" [interjection] "I- I saw- I kinda saw my life flash before my eyes, I thought about all my memories, and then I thought, 'I haven't done enough, this sucks!' uhh- and then i got transcended back to the real world" - (again, probably a bit, but notable)

Throughout the stream, it's questioned as to why Tommy is even there. It's difficult to tell whether that's just teasing, or another indicator.

And then. ah yes. Wilbah phone call. Very spooky very cool (Tommy's acting is so enjoyable to watch). Just a couple notes because no way in hell am I breaking all of that down.

Wilbur sounds.... definitely off. Almost like an announcer/stereotypical horror movie antagonist (considering his history of using different voices and tones for different characters, this seems another indicator of an ARG)

Even considering the fact that Tommy is acting off, his single-minded focus on getting Wilbur to the camera/microphone is strange, but he seems almost skittish about the others being involved in the conversation

There are several references from Tommy about being forced to "do weird shit", "saying things [he doesn't] wanna say". Does this imply coercion? Possession?

Tommy and Wilbur's focus on "beating the hell out of Williams" was maybe a little bit suspicious... (y'know, with Will/Wilbur being derivative of William and all, especially given Billzo's frequent denial of of the name)

What the fuck is this Lamborghini shit

Obviously theres the part where Wilbur seems to be instructing Tommy to fight/harm/possibly kill one of his friends, sizing them up, trying to determine what weapons Tommy has experience with.

"The knives are out right now" "A knife's not gonna tear into it" "a knife's not gonna penetrate anyone" Probably talking about a human body, possibly talking about something... else (if this is going to involve spooky stuff like possession n shit, it could involve the paranormal)

"Can they get out, by the way, can they-" "No, no, they can't." "Okay, good, good" is... yeah. It's also interesting when considering that Tommy later seems to panic at the suggestion of being let back in/having doors unlocked when he's outside

Tommy seems very willing to put himself in harm's way, especially at Wilbur's suggestion (the drowning, threats of fighting, collapsing as soon as Wilbur says "Collapse down there.", etc.)

"The collapse went-" "It looks like it's on your friend, Will" "I can't anyway, I'm pinned down from the fall" ....???

Why did Wilbur want Tommy to unplug things/switch them off so badly? What happened during the blackout?

Why aren't you having a good Halloween Wimbly Scoot? What's going on? Huh?

And then there's the whole part where Tommy goes outside.

The first time, when he's outside the window, apart from being... generally weird, the whole breathing bit seems very off. Not sure whether there's something to decode there or just Tommy Shenanigans

When Tommy goes out a second time, there's a whole struggle with doors being locked and keys and whatnot

When Tubbo suggests to let Tommy in, he starts panicking immediately, yelling out protests, aggressively finger-pointing and banging on the window, running his hands through his hair, etc. Is it because he wants to keep them in, or keep something else out?

Tommy then disappears for about 6 minutes, in which Aimsey can't find him, before returning, covered in mud and leaves, and acting dissociated, disturbed, and near-catatonic.

I've seen loads of people saying the mud is possibly from digging a grave (which does seem like a likely scenario), but it is curious that Tommy has leaves in his hair, and looks otherwise dishevelled. Could this be a sign of a struggle? A scuffle? Can't be sure.

And a last couple of notes

I've seen several people talking about a point at which Tommy's blinks create the Morse Code for "stop", but I'm not sure which point it is, and am not familiar enough with morse to check it, unfortunately

The theory of Tommy/arginnit being controlled or possessed by Wilbur/argbur seems likely. Obviously, Tommy is acting off, Wilbur is commanding him, etc, but also in the sense that Tommy seems to be attempting to fight back, somehow? Between letting everyone hear the call, the "stop" blinking, and his panic at being let inside, at least. Perhaps the leaves and dirt, attempted drowning, and so on, weren't just instructions from Wilbur, but perhaps some rather violent/extreme attempts to stop himself/whoever it is from hurting everyone else...

If Tommy's resisting Wilbur somehow, it could also explain why Wilbur's Halloween don't seem to be going so great.

obviously this is all speculation, i don't claim to own anything lol, and it's too early to know anything for sure. but goddamn.

emily's youtube channel is basically a series of video essays on why aliens are real and how you can find them. aside from just discussing her opinions and theories, wren helps her make little skits and she does a collab with molly where they go alien scouting :) she's quite convincing

hes is a gamer and i refuse to believe otherwise. she sticks to various minecraft games and animal crossing and it's all very wholesome.

barney has a baking channel!! they have the cutest aesthetic by far; tons of pastels and woodland things, and their treats are all cottagecore themed. they also do baking-themed challenges every other week :)

i feel like wren's channel would be somewhat akin to loeylane's. talking about spooky/paranormal stuff, going to haunted locations every now and then, reading scary stories on reddit - stuff like that. she livestreams every now and then, but dyes her hair and plays video games with hes and emily instead of talking about ghosty things :)

mackenzie has a vlog channel! she also posts highlights of her various sports games and likes to show off her friends hijinks that get cut out of their videos. vlogs and blooper reels, basically

diane's youtube channel is....something else. i can't explain this for the life of me, but i feel like she would post videos with really click bait-y titles, but the actual video is either her maniacally laughing at the camera or a rickroll. also she films with an old iPhone for that "amazing camera quality."

remember how molly accidentally created an ARG on her channel? yeah well vanessa actually did that. except no one really knows if the stuff she's posting is real or just part of the alternate reality game. the internet has never seen her face or heard her voice, and it's unsettling to everyone (except the roanokes and zodiacs, they're in on it for the most part).

april has one of those aesthetically pleasing craft channels!! she'd make a bunch of tutorials for stuff like drawing, scrapbooking, origami: you name it, there's probably at least one video of her doing it on her channel :) she also livestreams once a week and always gets distracted by the chat and ends up burning her hand with the glue gun

jo's channel would start off as just a way to document her science experiments and present them to her class, but would slowly turn into a frequent hobby. she would become the internet's favorite 14-year-old mad scientist and wear that title like a badge of honor. aside from videos of her robotics and engineering triumphs (and occasional flops), jo gets into the habit of recording the secret robot fighting ring her and her peers participate in off campus

mal actually had youtube experience before she started her own channel, since she managed her band's, but because of the technical skill, her personal one took off pretty quickly. she posts her own original songs, covers, and the weekly vlog with molly (they also did a cover of "closer to fine" by the indigo girls with molly on lead vocals and everyone loved it).

molly's channel has a...very specific vibe to it. she just takes her camcorder into the woods whenever she goes on walks and records anything interesting and/or creepy that she finds. she also doesn't talk that much, just adds text while editing. think "hiimmarymary" and "the blair witch project" hybrid. my girl would accidentally create a found footage film/ARG without even realizing it. the internet got to see her meet bubbles, though :,)

ripley's channel is just complete and total chaos. one video will be cooking and the next will be her ballroom dancing with a raccoon. no one can predict what comes next because A) her posting schedule just doesn't exist, and B) her channel doesn't really have a specific theme. she just posts whatever makes her happy and honestly? thats valid.

jen doesn't actually have a youtube channel of her own, but she's made multiple appearances on the girls' channels that people in the comments are begging her to start one of her own. jen just likes being a frequently reoccurring character :)

the zodiacs are up next! i'll probably do them sometime tonight :D
