Woe You’re My What?

Ok, everyone! i just finished watching Wednesday, and loved it! This is going to be a Wednesday/Tyler fic.

"I am not you mother! I will never fall in love, I will never be a house wife, and I will never have a family." were the one of the last things Wednesday said to her mother before they dropped her off in this prison called Nevermore. Wednesday always believed that phrase to be true. What would she possibly want with a boyfriend, a husband, or a family? That was until she met Tyler.

Tyler Galpin, a year ago he discovered that his entire life was a lie... he is not a normie like he always believed, instead he is a monster. A part of him is a murderous beast, who is locked in his head constantly taunting him. Having no choice but to attend nevermore, he meets Wednesday... and learns something that will change both of their lifes.

Chapter 1 

Wednesday’s P.O.V

I’ve been in this prison for 3 days now, I haven’t yet come up with a plan on how to escape, sharing a room with Enid hasn’t been as horrible as I imagined… it’s 10x worse. I originally planned to smother her in her sleep, but Ms. Thornhill made a firm rule about not doing that.

I really don’t see what my parents loved about this place, there is nothing spectacular about this school as far as I can see it’s just another high school. Full of the same pointless drama, social statuses, and constant noise from every direction. I’m sitting with Enid in the cafeteria trying to eat my food but I’m finding it increasingly difficult between her constant yacking and the staring that I’m getting from some boy sitting across the room.

I have pretended not to notice, but for the last 3 days whenever he sees me, in the cafeteria, the hallway, or class he stares at me. It’s not even a creepy stare… which honestly I would have preferred, the stare I am receiving is like he is studying me. I notice he always sits by himself, almost like he is an outcast… is it possible to be an outcast in a school of outcasts? Finally I couldn’t take it anymore

“Enid, can you stop gossiping for a second, and actually give me some useful information?”

“Like what?” she asked

“That boy over there, that has been staring at me nonstop for the last 3 days… what’s his name. and what’s his story”

“That sounds like gossip Wednesday” she said in a confused tone. I sighed

“Enid I have spent the last 3 days listen to you babble on and on and on about things I don’t care about, I have wanted you to stop talking for days… now I actually want you to speak… please” I said doing my best to sound nice

“That’s Tyler, if I were you I would definitely stay away from him” she said

“Why?”

“Tyler was sent here when he discovered he was a Hyde… He thought his whole life he was a normie, turns out that his mother was a Hyde and his normie father kept that from him. Tyler accidently killed some people…”

“Really? How brutal are we talking?” I asked knowing there was probably a small smirk on my face

“Um, I don’t know the details of that, anything too bloody grosses me out” I rolled my eyes but gave her a look telling her to continue “anyway, his dad who Is the sheriff cut a deal with the mayor to keep the murders under wraps, as far as the public knows it was a bear… the mayor said Tyler had to attend Nevermore and has to stay on school property at all times.”

“Hmmm” I said

“Its too bad, that he’s such a loaner he’s actually kind of cute” I rolled my eyes and stood up “where are you going?” she asked

“To talk to Tyler about how I find his staring quite annoying, and if he continues his staring I might sew his eyes shut in his sleep.”

“Be careful” she said grabbing my arm, I rolled my eyes

“Enid I’m not scared of some boy” she sighed and let go of my arm. I made my way over to him, and when he realized I was coming over to him, he grabbed his stuff and started to stand up, but I stopped him “Stop” I said

“I have to go” he mumbled

“No, you don’t. There are no more classes scheduled for the day, and I just watched you finish all your home work while you ate lunch. So we’re going to sit down have a discussion” he sighed, looked around the room then sat down.

“What do you want Ms. Addams?” he asked, I scrunched up my nose, and he chuckled

“Do not ever call me that again, my name is Wednesday… and from what I’ve heard your name is Tyler”

“Uh, yeah” he said

“Look, we both know why I’m here. You’ve been staring at me, and I want to know why”

“Ummm, sorry I won’t do it anymore” he tried to stand up but I pulled him back down

“I asked you why” I said in a stern voice “We can do this the easy way, or the hard way… which I would actually prefer, it won’t be fun for you though” he took a deep breath, and sighed

“I’ll tell you why, but not in here. There’s too many people, and it’s really heavy stuff” I raised an eyebrow “I’ll tell you, just lets go out by the lake… there won’t be anyone there right now” I looked at him, then looked around the room where I met Enid’s eyes

“Ok, fine. Head that way I’ll follow after I tell my roommate where I’m going” he gave me a slight nod, and walked away. I watched as he quickly left the room, before making my way over to Enid

“So what did he say?” she asked as soon as I sat down in front of her

“He’ll tell me, on the condition that we are alone” her eyes went wide

“Do you think he wants to kill you?”

“Doubtful, he kept trying to get away from me. If he wanted to bring harm to me, he would want me as close as possible, he would want me to trust him… at least that’s what I would do”

“Where does he want to meet you?”

“By the lake at the back of the school”

“Ok… do you want me to go with you?” she asked

“No, I’ll be fine. Plus I have Thing with me” he popped out of my bag and waved at Enid

“Ok, but if you’re not back in an hour I’m sending a search party” she said, as I walked away

I walked to the back of the school, making my way down the hill to the lake where I saw him sitting with his earphones in. Now that I think about it, he always seems to have those in.

“Ok, I’m here now tell why you have been staring at me” he took one earphone out and fiddled with it, almost like he was nervous.

“How much do you know about Hyde’s?” he asked

“Nothing. I didn’t even know they existed till Enid told me what you are”

“Make’s two of us. I had to learn everything I know from books” he sighed “so, the Hyde is always in my head, taunting me trying to get control and take over… It’s taken a lot but I have sessions with Principal Weems everyday learning to control him”

“So what does that have to do with me?” I asked

“A Hyde, always serves his master… which he hasn’t yet found. That is the soul purpose of the Hyde, to find someone to serve”

“Does he want me to be his master?” I asked, and he chuckled

“No, no… but he has… fuck… ok look I know this is the first real conversation we are having, and you have every right to be angry, but please don’t hate me for what I’m about to tell you”

“Tyler, would you just get on with it?” I asked

“He, has claimed you as his… as his Mate” my eyes were wide with shock “The Hyde looks for a master to serve or someone to mate with, and well it’s chosen you…. That’s why I’ve been staring, because every time I see you, he starts talking to me about you”

“What does he say?” I asked

“It’s best I didn’t tell you… it’s not… it’s not something you want to hear” he said

“How could you possibly know what I would and wouldn’t want to hear?” I said angrily.

“Trust me” I let out an angry huff and stood up

“Trust you? I said, I just met you and you’re telling me I’m supposed to be your… your mate or something” his eyes went wide with panic

“No, I mean yes, but no. I mean of course he wants you like that, but we would never force it upon you. As of right now, his only goal is to protect you from any and all harm”

“I have to go” I mumbled, as I tried to walk away, he grabbed my arm and I was suddenly pulled into a vision

“Wednesday” I heard, I turned around and was greeted by my ancestor Goodie Addams. She has been making many appearances in my vision’s/dreams lately. “Wednesday, you need to listen”

I stood up from where I was sitting on the ground

“We don’t have much time… I have to tell you something very important”

“Would you just spit it out already” I said

“There was a prophecy written years before I was born, that one day a member of the Addams family would meet, and mate with a Hyde. Their souls would become one, and together they would be the protectors of all outcasts, from anyone who tries to end us”

“I’m supposed to mate with… with a Hyde?” I asked shocked

“Wednesday… you are the key” she said

I am snapped out of my vision and I am met with Tyler’s beautiful eyes…. Beautiful eyes? What the fuck. I have never described anything as beautiful I my life. I mean what is happening to me?

“Wednesday… are you ok?” he asked, and I quickly pushed myself out of his arms

“I’m fine, I have to go. I said running off, I ran as fast as I could back to my dorm, slamming it shut and immediately coming eye to eye with Enid.

“You’ve been gone a long time, I was getting ready to go to Principal Weems” she said “Hey, are you ok?” she asked I shook my head no “did he hurt you?”

“No, just told me something I wasn’t prepared to hear” I said

“What did he tell you”

“Something that I never expected, and I… I need to think before I tell you. I just need some space, and sleep… lots of sleep” I said

“Ok, do you want me to go sleep in another room tonight?” she asked

“No, I’m not kicking you out. I just ask if you listen to music please have earphones in” she nodded and I walked to my bed, not even bothering to change I took my shoes off and got under the covers covering my head completely.

“So many things running through my head, and I don’t know where to begin

Really fucked up that, when they’re young, Patrick and Art are SO tactile with each other, so comfortable sharing the same space. Art lets Patrick touch him and move him and physically overwhelm him and easily acquiesces to it, if not outright enjoys it.

Then in the present, they’ve been so far out of each other’s orbit for so long, held such animosity that when they have their moment alone in the sauna, Art physically recoils from Patrick’s close proximity! It’s so painful to watch because even as Patrick’s goading him, it’s so obvious he wants to be able to get back into Art’s space. But Art has erected all these walls around himself, he refuses to give Patrick an inch or even admit to missing how close they used to be!

AND THEN we see Art and Tashi later and he wants her to hold him, to be gentle with him, and just TOUCH him. Like, he does miss that kind of close physical contact! He either doesn’t know how to ask for it or is uncomfortable being that openly vulnerable. Worth noting that he pretty much always defers to Tashi in regard to initiating physical intimacy (with their first kiss, though he does state his desire, SHE has to be the one to make the first move). And it seems pretty obvious that Tashi herself isn’t comfortable providing that intimacy, whereas Patrick actively seeks to provide it (the hug/forehead kiss after their win together in the early years, dragging the stool closer to him).

Art has tried very hard to act like he doesn’t need physical affection and even though his discipline and devotion to Tashi has made him a stronger tennis player, it’s made him a hollow person, which, in turn, has kept him from becoming a GREAT tennis player.

All of this, of course, is why the ending hits so damn hard.

Some Speculation on Kaveh’s Father

I actually started this post right after the Parade of Providence event last year, but never got around to finishing it. However, in light of Kaveh still not appearing on a banner, I decided to dust this one off and get it finished, so that I’d have at least a little Kaveh content in my life after being so cruelly denied by Hoyo.

So, without further ado, some stuff about Kaveh’s father I did not see discussed elsewhere but which I think is especially interesting.

1) Kaveh’s father likely first became depressed/disillusioned with humanity after witnessing (or possibly being the victim of) a murder attempt.

Without knowing the full situation and reading all the additional text from the Parade of Providence event, I feel like this might have been easily missed, but the entire “Kaveh’s dad became disillusioned and depressed and retreated to the desert to help people” seems--at first--like it came out of nowhere. He had a lovely family, was the pride of his darshan, and was eager and excited to win the crown to bring it home to his son. Yet theoretically, he did not win the crown (and, in fact, the crown was stolen before the last event and may not have been there during the Avidya Forest fight, so when, as the non-winner, would Kaveh’s father have come into contact with it to encounter Sachin through it in the first place?) Why would Kaveh’s father’s personality take such a massive turn all the sudden? What would drive an excited, happy person to suddenly withdraw from everything he loved and everyone who loved him, if he didn’t actually win the diadem to be influenced by it in the first place?

The event implies there was a trigger:

Huvishka’s friend (who is described as “honest and kind but vulnerable and sensitive”--obviously Kaveh’s father) went into the Avidya Forest with the other contestants, where no one was watching, and we’re not told what happened except that the Akademiya responded to whatever occurred by shutting down the entire competition and banning any sort of events in the future that cause contestants to become so desperate they would “fight to the death.” 

This is a pretty obvious implication that Kaveh’s father either witnessed two other contestants attempt to kill each other or was the victim of an attempted murder himself, which prevented him from winning the competition even though he was the favorite to win by a long-shot. This feat of betrayal, demonstrating the depths to which humanity would sink, likely shook the idealistic world views of a sensitive person such as Kaveh’s father. This brush with death and with humanity’s capacity for evil in the forest would have been the exact trigger needed to make Kaveh’s father particularly vulnerable to Sachin’s message of nihility and despair, leading to the downward spiral that sent Kaveh’s father into the desert.

2) Sachin may have way more culpability for Kaveh’s father’s death than Kaveh realizes. 

For a while after the event, I was under the impression that Kaveh’s father must have met Sachin’s consciousness through the diadem and that’s where he got the idea to go into the desert. However, something was always a bit odd about the timeline, because...

Sachin was still alive when he gave the Akademiya his estate. This is why no one actually knew/believed he was fully dead, even to the present--because he willed the Akademiya the estate while he was alive and told them he was going to be personally watching over the contestants to award his estate to them if he deemed them worthy successors to himself. 

So did Kaveh’s father run into a fragment of Sachin’s consciousness... or did he run into Sachin himself? The game doesn’t really clarify:

The fact that Sachin’s recording recognized Kaveh’s appearance as familiar makes me think it is much more likely that the consciousness preserved in the diadem already had knowledge of Kaveh’s father at the time it was preserved. Aka, Sachin actually met Kaveh’s father in person. This also makes sense of why, even though the diadem was stolen away during the last event and Kaveh’s father did not win it, he would still know about Sachin and Sachin’s research. (However, as a counterpoint, I guess we could say that the Diadem!Sachin had enough sentience to maybe have its own memory, separate from the real Sachin? And reached out to Kaveh’s father mentally even though he didn’t win the diadem? Maybe?)

Still, there’s one really notable aspect of the timeline that I think is important: Right after the Interdarshan Competition twenty years ago, the one which Kaveh’s father competed in, we know that Sachin went back out to the desert. 

Who else went out to the desert exactly 20 years ago? Kaveh’s father, obviously.

This overlap in the timelines makes it seem very likely that Kaveh’s father, who failed to win the competition because of a murder attempt (and therefore never got the diadem), was nevertheless reached out to by the real Sachin, who saw in Kaveh’s father the kindred disillusioned idealist he was looking for to pass his research torch onto. From this connection, Kaveh’s father was driven to either directly accompany or at least pursue the still living Sachin into the desert. (This works even if we say it was only Sachin’s consciousness he was contacted by--in either case, he would have been driven go to out to the desert to meet the real, temporarily still living Sachin to join his quest to help the desert people.)

Only for Kaveh’s father to meet his end there while trying to aid a caravan that had fallen into trouble. What a tragic coincidence, a completely unpredictable twist of fate.

Or... was it?

How odd, in the same quest that Kaveh’s father’s connection to Sachin is discussed, that we’re given an account of a caravan that appears to have been deliberately sabotaged, where money was taken (from Sachin) and somehow sparked a betrayal, a “trial of human nature” that caused many people to die, with the takeaway being the exact belief Sachin wants to pass on and reinforce in others, that humans are horrific creatures who can only make the world a worse and worse place. 

We know that Sachin’s “research” specifically consisted of doing this exact thing, manipulating situations to test humans’ moral character, conducting trials/experiments on “human nature” to reinforce his belief that humans were fundamentally selfish beings.

(It’s no accident the merchant ledger we receive uses the exact same words as Sachin does, “trial of human nature” and “experiments on human nature.” We’re supposed to assume what happened to the caravan in the note was deliberate sabotage on Sachin’s part, to create a scenario where he could observe the cruelties of humanity.)

Why would the game go out of its way to give us an account of a caravan being deliberately sabotaged and used as an experiment if there was no connection at all between what happened with this caravan and what happened to Kaveh’s father, who was also killed helping a floundering caravan?

It’s just too much of a coincidence to accidental. I think the implications of the ledger Dori gave us and the similarities in the language on that ledger to Sachin’s ideas was supposed to lead the audience to wonder:

Could Kaveh’s father have died in one of Sachin’s final “human nature experiments”? 

Was the caravan Kaveh’s father tried to help one that Sachin deliberately sabotaged, expecting to observe humanity’s selfish, self-preserving nature?

I think there’s enough evidence in the story to suggest that we players are at least supposed to consider this a possibility. (There’s no reason to give us the ledger about the manipulated caravan otherwise.) And if you consider this a possibility, it would mean that Sachin didn’t just indirectly cause Kaveh’s father’s death--he would be the direct cause of Kaveh’s father’s death, an actual murder brought about by Sachin’s beliefs that humanity’s self-centered nature made everyone beyond saving.

This idea transforms Kaveh’s father’s sacrifice into the ultimate rejection of Sachin’s beliefs. This would mean that, even in a situation manipulated to bring out the worst in human beings on purpose, Kaveh’s father gave everything to protect the lives of others, for no gain at all of his own, doing everything he could just to desperately try to make the situation (the world) better.

SO yeah. I’m not saying we have hard evidence here, but I think the quest was trying to lead players to speculate very, very hard on the possibility that Kaveh’s father’s death was no accident.

3) Finally, a cuter piece of speculation to brighten things up after that despair bomb I just dropped: it’s highly likely that Kaveh’s father had more than one Aranara buddy!

During the Parade of Providence, we hear about an Aranara who learned to read from Kaveh’s father:

However, this is a bit confusing, because later in the event, we hear someone else say that Kaveh’s father taught an Aranara to write specifically when he was a child:

While of course it is possible that Kaveh’s father taught the first Aranara, Arakasyapa, to both read and write, I think there’s also another possible answer here about why Kaveh’s father would separately mention teaching an Aranara to write:

Because there is an entirely different Aranara in the story which was taught to write by a “good Nara” who was a child--Arashakun, from the quest “Courage is the Heart.”

In this sweet little world quest, the Traveler discovers a flower talisman that has been snatched by some hilichurls, and seeks to return it to its rightful owner, a timid and shy Aranara named Arashakun. 

We learn that Arashakun once had a kind-hearted “good Nara” companion who taught him to write (sound familiar?), and who, in order to encourage the poor Aranara, gave him a single flower dubbed “courage.” In describing this child companion, Arashakun specifically states that his companion was no strong warrior like the Traveler’s twin, but instead a gentle, comforting presence who never teased the Aranara.

All of these descriptions line up particularly well with Kaveh’s father, who the game repeatedly describes as vulnerable, kind-hearted, and giving to others.

To drive home the possible connections to Kaveh’s family even further, this quest takes place very, very near to the Palace of Alkazarzaray. 

Although we don’t have any guarantee, I think it is strongly implied that the “good Nara” mentioned by Arashakun is indeed Kaveh’s father, and the “courage of the heart” that he extended to Arashakun as a child is the very same courage, kindness, and generosity that drove him to reach out to the people of the desert, hoping to make a difference in their lives--even at the cost of his own.

The takeaway? Kaveh’s father was a truly good person who aided everyone he came across, from timid Aranara to people whose very lives were in danger. He never meant to leave his family, and especially not his son, but repeatedly fell afoul of the worst humanity had to offer and was driven into a situation in which all he could do was offer his very life to uphold the altruism that was central to his idealism--the same idealism and goodness that Kaveh carries as “courage” in his own heart.

So... the thing that IMMEDIATELY stood out to me in Fit's Dec 30th lore stream was the use of the nocom heatmap:

Like this is the exact version if the heatmap Fit uses in his 2b2t vid about the nocom exploit (which is a wild story in itself, please watch it if you haven't before).

But some musing about how nocom might be connected to the lore (which quickly spiralled into some theories about Madagio, the 2 Cucuruchos, and the eggs):

Nocom was an exploit that tracked players in real time, predict their movements, and allowed remote spying on physical changes to locations. Madagio being drawn in by the remenant signal of that could just be a nod to their interest in finding ways to collect information and why they would find Fit suitable for the job.

HOWEVER-- Nocom was built on a Papermc vulnerability that meant it could also work on other multiplayer servers that run it. While nocom was patched on 2b2t, that doesn't mean other servers have patched the vulnerability & the source code has been released by the creators. So Madagio could have been interested in going to 2b2t to get ahold of nocom to use on Quesadilla island so it could uncover the "secrets [it] must have at all costs"-- their POV when tracking down fit shows entity lines so they clearly have some tracking ability/tool.

Maybe they got the nocom code, but found they couldn't use it yet. It's been mentioned before that Fit tried hack clients on QSMP but they didn't work, and exploits get fixed pretty quickly to keep the server stable. Madagio said the only way onto thr island at the time was the Federation train-- presumably the Federation had thing heavily locked down and Madagio wouldn't be able to enter or run any sort of exploit.

2b2t's nocom was made possible because of social engineering-- Madagio could have hired Fit to collect information so it could find a way to successfully manipulate holes into the Federation's security and get onto the island/run nocom.

In the Dec 21st QSMP Info stream, Dark Cucurucho seems to be looking for something the Federation has hidden, and demands Cucurucho tell him where it is. Maybe Madagio is looking for the same thing? Nocom would theoretically allow someone to find hidden facilities/people anywhere on the server.

Where Dark Cucurucho seems tied to the Nether, and Cucurucho the overworld, its becomes pretty notable that Madagio has Fit go through a giant Ender portal.

Madagio being tied to the End also has some interesting implications if you think about the (ender?) dragon that supposedly inhabited the island & created the eggs. While the federation claimed the dragon left when the wall was blown up, there's no actual evidence it was there at the time. Perhaps Madagio is the dragon.

Fans seem to be interpretting the "i am a god" anagram of Madagio literally, which could fit with the ender dragon being a sort of godly being presiding over the End dimension.

BUT it may not be a literal dragon-- the eggs seem to be some sort of science experiements, so what if the anagram is a reference to a scientist playing god?

Maybe Madagio literally created the eggs from End-realm-DNA or something before fleeing/being kicked off Quesadilla, and the dragon story is just what the Federation made up to explain the eggs without having to bring up Madagio.

Maybe the experiements that led to the eggs were about opening up inter-server travel? Madagio said whatever made it leave Quesadilla also gave it server-hopping powers (powers which seems similar in reach to the Federation's ability to pull people to the island/send workers to other places).

The Federation can block interdimensional travel too-- we saw that with the Nether, which the residents eventually broke through with the train bug, implying hacks/bugs are needed to bypass Federation security.

Dark Cucurucho told Forever it wanted to leave, desired freedom, and that the Federation didn't want it to have that. Maybe the thing Dark is looking for is the thing that Madagio created that allows for interdimensional travel, which the Federation stole.

I think the only non-Federation example of cross-server travel we've seen is with the Watcher/Purgatory, but it may have actually been Dark Cucurucho who enabled that, not the Watcher. Aside from Dark being the one to give the residents their tickets to Purgatory via the dice game, Cucurucho claimed the recent security vulnerabilities were due to Dark, so maybe Dark found an exploit that allowed for limited interdimenisonal travel-- if it's tied to the creation of eggs somehow, maybe that's why there were 3 new eggs found on Egg Island?

The Unknown Egg diary Cellbit found could potentially be connected to Dark Cucurucho leaving & making contact with the Watcher prior to the purgatory arc, given the timing (about a month after the residents broke open the Nether, which may have created a door for Dark to get to the overworld despite Federation security and set things in motion). Maybe Cucurucho sent Cellbit to investigate because it suspected Dark was up to something? Cellbit assumed the egg's fate was the Federation's doing, but why would they send him to investigate it then? Maybe it was Dark making a cheap immitation of the Federation adoption center so it could travel, and then abandoning the egg once it had what it wanted?

Cucurucho also said that Dark didn't understand the potential of the eggs, which could explain why Dark would only be able to achieve limited travel.

Chapter 2

Wednesday’s P.O.V

“Wednesday… you are the key” I woke up with a gasp. I looked over and saw the Enid is no longer in bed, I look at the clock and see its 7:30. I groaned, today is going to be interesting.

I skipped classes yesterday, thankfully Enid agreed to cover for me and say I was sick. I spent all my time in the library finding everything I could on Hyde’s… trying to prove Tyler wrong. He had to be wrong, he had to be some hormonal 18 year old who only said what he did to get in my pants. All the books I read seemed to prove what Tyler said as true.

The vision I had, had to be wrong too… I mean I guess its possible for the prophecy to be true but it can’t be me. I don’t want to be a housewife, I don’t want to have what my mother has… at least I don’t think I do. I have watched my parents over the years be very affectionate towards each other, I once read a book that had romance in it… it made me sick… and not in a good way.

I never understood why anyone would want to be in any kind of relationship, isn’t that the loss of freedom? I never wasted my time on looking at boys, or wondering what it’s like to be kissed, or have sex… or whatever it is teenage girls think about.

I keep thinking back to when I was brought out of my vision and the first thing that came to my mind was how beautiful Tyler’s eyes were. I mean I guess Tyler isn’t too bad to look at, and I could see why he would be found attractive… I refuse to find him attractive, I will not allow myself to be pulled in some disgusting romantic relationship.

“Ugh” I mumbled to myself. Why am I allowing this to bug me… I don’t have to mate with the Hyde. Tyler said it won’t be forced upon me, so I shouldn’t worry about it right? What if what Goodie told me is true what if I have to? I haven’t had any more visions since then, but I keep hearing Goodie’s voice in my dreams. What does she even mean I’m the key?

“Ugh” I mumbled throwing myself back down in the bed, and covering my face with a pillow. This is so frustrating, I mean of all the possible reasons to not want to attend Nevermore I never thought that it would be this.

“Morning roomie” Enid said walking in the door

“Go away” I mumbled, she walked over and sat on the edge of my bed

“Enid you have 2 seconds to get off of my bed, before I kick you out of it” I grumbled

“Wednesday, you need to stop. I’m not scared of you… I think you’re incredibly weird but I won’t allow you to bully me.” I sighed taking the pillow off of my face and sitting up “Are you going to class today?” she asked

“Yeah, I… I need to confront Tyler” she rolled her eyes

“Look, Wednesday… I know we haven’t known each other long but based on what you have told me this is probably super overwhelming for you. I know you don’t consider me a friend… yet”

“The odds of us becoming friends is less than 1%” I said, she ignored me and continued to talk

“I don’t know Tyler well, but I do know that he still feels so out of place. I mean pretty much his whole life is a lie, and then he finds out that not only does he have this super scare, murderous beast in him… but he also has a mate.” I looked at the bed

“Enid do you plan on making a point” she sighed

“When you ran off, he probably felt rejected. I know you have a cold, black heart but I know even you aren’t that cruel”

“Maybe I am” I said

“Wednesday” she said giving me a stern look

“Ok, fine I don’t want him to feel rejected… I know what it’s like to be an outsider too”

“Exactly… now some advice.” I raised my eyebrow “instead of confronting him… maybe you should just talk to him” I sighed and got out of bed to start getting ready “You should know, that he looked for you all day yesterday… he actually talked to me”

“What did he say?” I asked curious

“Well I told the teachers you were sick, and he came over and asked if you were ok. He wanted to make sure you weren’t in pain or anything” I gave a slight smile “Ah ha! I knew it, you do care” the smile disappeared

“I don’t care, I don’t even know him”

“Mmmhmm” keep telling yourself that Wednesday “see you in class” she said walking away. I feel my blood boiling from the conversation I just had

“I don’t know what she’s talking about Thing I don’t care about Tyler” I said, I watched as he signed to me from the desk

Yes you do

“Oh, shut up” I mumbled before walking to the bathroom to get ready

I walked into class and I saw Tyler siting in his normal seat in the back with his earphones in. I looked up at Enid and she gave me a look that said to go over to him, I groaned but took the empty seat next to him. He turned to me with wide eyes, and took one of his earphones out.

“Umm, hi” he said

“Hello” I said

“Are you feeling better?” he asked

“If you must know I actually was not sick… I needed time to process things” he gave me a slight nod

“That’s understandable” he mumbled

“Look, this is not the time or place to discuss this… but I do want to talk to you”

“Do you want to come by my dorm this afternoon?” he asked I raised my eyebrow and his face changed “I don’t mean like that… I don’t have a roommate so we can be alone to talk… unless you feel uncomfortable” he mumbled

“No, I wouldn’t be uncomfortable. I thought girls weren’t allowed in the boys dormitories” his smirk returned

“Yeah, but you don’t seem to be one to follow rules”

“Ok” I said

“Ok” I said back, and for some reason I couldn’t stop myself from staring at him, his eyes are beautiful. I was brought out of my daze when I heard the bell ring signaling that class was about to begin”

When I got to Tyler’s room, I hesitantly knocked on the door. It took a few seconds but it swung open, and he greeted me with a smile.

“Hey” he said, I didn’t say anything I just walked past him. I looked around the room, and noticed there was an empty bed on the other side of the room.

“How did you get out of having a roommate” he looked at the ground clearly upset

“No, one wanted to room with a Hyde”

“But, you’re not a Hyde… the Hyde is a part of you… but you’re just Tyler” I said, he smiled

“Well you’re the first person to think so” he mumbled “my own dad pretty much disowned me when he found out about this” he said

“You’re lucky, I wish my family would disown me” I replied he chuckled

“Would you like to sit?” he asked, I nodded and he gently pulled the chair from his desk out for me to sit, he went and sat on the edge of his bed. “So, I know this is super overwhelming… so where do you want to start?” he asked

“Well, we should probably start with… when I ran off the other day, I wasn’t rejecting you. I um… I haven’t told anyone this… but I’m trusting you” I mumbled

“I won’t say a anything to anyone” I didn’t miss the look of relief across his face

“I have visions occasionally, and I had a vision right after you told me about… you know” he nodded

“What was the vision about?” he asked

“An ancestor of mine Goodie Addams… she told me that I am the key” I decided to leave the other part out for now

“What does that mean?” I shrugged my shoulders

“I honestly don’t know” I sighed “but I really want you to know I didn’t reject you… I was scared yes… but not of you, of what you told me”

“We thought you did”

“We?”

“Oh, yeah… I’ve learned that one of the important things about learning control is accept him as part of me… so when I talk about him, its we not just him” I got an idea

“Can I talk to him?” I asked, he shook his head

“Wednesday, I don’t know if that��s a good idea” he mumbled

“He claimed me as his mate right?” He nodded “well it’s doubtful he would do anything to hurt his mate”

“It’s not that, sometimes its had to get him to go back… he is really strong”

“Please, Tyler?” he sighed “I promise I’ll stay here with you the whole time… especially if he doesn’t want to go back, I won’t let any harm come to you or anyone else” I said “Do you trust me?” I asked

“Yes” he said, he took a deep breath and closed his eyes. When they opened his eyes had changed to a golden color, and his voice was extremely deep when he said

“Hello, my mate” I gulped… for once in my life I am a little scared.

It's Padmé defending's hours for me

I have been seeing more negative (with very weird connotations, tbh) posts about Padmé on my dash lately, and while I'm a firm believer of the "scroll past it" rule, it really irks me a lot because MOST of these takes sound a bit mysoginistic to me and also (to me) shows a lack of trying to understand her as a character, not in a "you don't get her" way, but in a "you don't even try to understand the character and her context in the damn story just because you wanna sound holy than thou" way.

I'm all for accepting takes about Padmé's flaws or having a slightly more privileged/closed view (and that makes sense, she's aristocracy) but these people are SO WEIRD whenever they wanna talk about her 🤨

I'll forever mad that George eliminated SO MANY scenes with Padmé in the movies, but I feel like even if we had those scenes, people's complaints would be exactly the same.

But also i think half of the time people fail at understanding Padmé is because they're also failing to understand Anakin's as a character, idk

its a project ive been working on since around june, and has let me learn many things; i wrote a script, recorded soundeffects, even went and made some music using samples and audacity. its definitely not perfect but im still proud of it

Huh, I didn't even realize it'd been a year since BG3 came out until I opened tumblr this morning. Kinda wild. I didn't think much of the game's release: I like Larian's games, and I like the BG series. I wasn't ever going to skip the game, but I didn't think I'd play it at launch because I was busy working on a novel in 2023 and not doing well financially.

Thankfully, circumstances left me with a little bit of extra money last year just before launch and it meant I could spend on a video game. I needed a pick-me-up after said 2023 novel failed to go anywhere, and BG3 was right there. Like most CRPGs, I played it in basically every moment of free time that I had and did as much as I possibly could in one playthrough.

It's so odd how these small happenstances can snowball into coming back to fandom, finding some friends I might've never met otherwise, and writing a lot of fanfiction along the way. I'll probably have something more interesting to say/share when it's the 14th, AKA when I sat down and wrote my first fic for this fandom.

Anyways, it's been a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to more years to come 💜
