Dean wasn’t surprised that Dad had needed help on this hunt. It was a haunted house, the bodies hidden behind the walls. It was multiple spirits, so it was practically impossible to go in without backup. They’d found the bodies, all of them, salted and burned them, getting out of the house quickly enough before it collapsed and was engulfed in flames. It was certainly lucky that there were no other houses too near.

Dean was staring at the carcass of it, black rubble and stray pieces of wood, from the Impala parked on the other side of the street. Dad was long gone, and Dean should be too, but there was something keeping him here. Something telling him that there was still something out there. It didn’t make any sense. Even if they’d missed a body, the remains would have burned down with the house. There was nothing left.

“Curious how you can find beauty in destruction.”

Dean was startled, his whole body turning towards the voice, the British accent so out of place that Dean knew immediately that this man didn’t actually live here. But still there he was. The dude from the plane. Sitting on the passenger seat of the Impala again. He was looking at what remained of the haunted house, the sunrise illuminating the jagged pieces.

“What the hell?” Was all Dean could bring himself to say before the man turned towards him, curiosity in his eyes, a concentrated look on his face.

“I gather this is not a dream.”

i think theres this idea in the general public that the "best" fanfic gets turned into real books like 50 shades of grey. but the truth is that the best fanfic can never be published as an actual book because its intricately woven into the canon material so its inseparable even if you change the names
