The Tartarus Affair by @manic-intent.    Readers Notes: I just. Honestly. When I started this fic, I was expecting a different sort of prison fic, and got something different and it was this best thing. Ever. I just. I’m SO IN LOVE with this story. SO IN LOVE!

You dream about dead guys? (can be read as any combination of Mick, Amaya, Ray, and Nate, or all four) 

Ever since they were students, Ray and Nate dreamed about being archaeologists. After they graduated, they moved to Egypt together, hoping to live out their dreams and find the next, great discovery. So, when Nate “found” an ancient puzzlebox containing a map to the lost city of Hamunaptra, they were both over the moon.

Until their boss accidentally burned off the most important piece. 

They set out to Cairo prison after Nate admitted to stealing the puzzlebox from a man in a bar--a very drunk man, who claimed to know where the lost city was. That’s where they meet Mick Rory--former Foreign Legionnaire, current town drunk after his best friend was shot and killed during his final mission, right in the heart of Hamunaptra. Ray and Nate bartered for Mick’s freedom, so long as he led them to the city.

Then, on the way there, their boat was attacked by people searching for the map and puzzlebox, and sunk. 

They continued their trek on foot until they finally reached the lost city. They didn’t expect to find a shockingly juicy mummy. Nor did they expect to be attacked by the same group of people again, this time led by a beautiful woman, who gave them a warning--stay away or die. 

But they didn’t listen. They didn’t believe that reading from a book would awaken an evil mummy who would bring about the end of the world. They didn’t know the mummy would latch onto Ray, seeing him as the perfect sacrifice to bring back his lost lover. They didn’t know that Mick, Nate, and the Medji, Amaya, would have to team up to stop him. 

After all, what harm ever came from reading a book?

“You sure we can trust these mooks?” Mick eyed the two men, dressed smart in fresh pressed suits and freshly polished shoes. They looked more like college professors then the P.I.’s  Amaya had suggested they work with.

“We can.” Despite the fact it was the third time in just the last hour Mick had asked her that, Amaya kept her voice smooth and honest, knowing how difficult it was for her husband to trust others after what had happened when they’d forced him off the police force.

Grunting, Mick kept eyeing the other two distrustfully as he crossed his arms over his broad chest. “We’ll see, Doll, we’ll see.”

“Just be nice.” Amaya cut her husband a quick look before turning back to smiling at their guests. “Welcome to Rory Investigations gentleman. Why don’t we get down to business?” She gestured with her left hand towards the seats opposite Mick’s desk, while she laid her right on Mick’s shoulder.

3, Are they open about their relationship? How do they feel about public displays of affection? Their very open, they don’t shy away from admitting they’re together. They’re pretty open about being affectionate with one another, never shying away unless they’re on a mission. 

18, What are their dates like? How long do/did they date? Do they ever feel the need to take a break from each other? Their dates usually consist of slipping off during a mission, finding something they can all agree on to occupy their time until Sara realizes half her team isn’t on the ship. They date until Amaya must return to her time. Until Amaya must return to her time, they don’t want to take a break, they want as much time as they can get before Amaya has to leave them.

23, How do they hug? Kiss? Tease? Flirt? Comfort? Nate, Ray and Amaya are very free with their affections, but it takes Mick a while to warm up to it and start doing it on his own, without being prompted by seeing the others do it first. Mick flirts and teases them all the time. The go to Ray when they need comfort, and when he needs comfort they all do whatever they can to help him. Nate usually pulls them into hugs all the time, while Amaya pulls her boys into kiss all the time. 

39, Who initiated the relationship? Who kissed who first?  When did they realize they were in love? Nate and Ray were the ones to initiate the relationships. Mick was the first one to kiss Ray though. Ray and Nate knew almost right away, and it was about four months in before Amaya knew. Mick knew before they all got together, but he was afraid to admit it because he didn’t think they could ever feel that way about him.

That’s always the story- An Atomic Steelvixenwave story (sequel to x)

It’s been almost ten years since the incident at Hamunaptra. Nate, Ray, Mick, and Amaya are happily married (technically, Ray and Mick are married and Nate and Amaya, but they’re all married) with an eight-year-old son, Leonard. 

Nate has given up the adventuring, preferring to stay home with his books and scrolls, but Amaya, Ray, and Mick still crave the thrill. One day, while Amaya is off on a mission with the Medji, Mick and Ray decide to take Leonard to a tomb to show him how they do their jobs. While there, they find something--the bracelet of the Scorpion King, an artifact thought to have been lost thousands of years ago. They bring it back home, only to find that someone has broken into their house and is trying to torture the location of the bracelet out of Nate. 

Amaya shows up and they fight off the intruders, but they take the chest with the bracelet and Mick. They are horrified that the villains have their husband, but become even more so when Leonard reveals that he has the bracelet of the Scorpion King stuck on his wrist. They go to the museum, where the men who kidnapped Mick, Damian Dahrk and Malcolm Merlyn, are doing a ritual to bring E’obard, the mummy they defeated at Hamunaptra, back to life. 

They save Mick and fight off E’obard’s minions, but they don’t stop them in time to prevent E’obard’s rising. 

They barely escape, stealing a double-decker bus and fighting off reanimated mummies, but the family is finally reunited. 

Until Malcolm Merlyn, figuring out where the bracelet actually is, snatches Leonard off the bus and steals him away.

Now, it’s a race against the clock to get to Ahm Shere, the oasis where the Scorpion King is said to rise, before E’obard and the others get there with Leonard, and he outlives his use for them...

-Hercules-Coldflash AU: A combination of season 2 of the Flash and Hercules, where Barry becomes the Flash, but Zoom is trying to conquer Earth-1 by recruiting metas from both Earths for his army, while using his ‘slave’, Leonard Snart, to find the Flash’s weakness.

-Infernal Gods (my novel): Sam Warner hated high school, and hated his hometown of Mills Cove. When he turned 18, he left and swore he’d never come back. He underestimated his sister’s determination to drag him back home for their 10-year reunion. Nixie’s Poly AU Challenge: Day Thirteen, Ray x Amaya x Mick x Nate - Leverage AU.

“Should’a just let me burn him,” Mick growls as he watches Ray fret over patching up Amaya’s cut. 

“We don’t do that now, Mick,” Nate murmurs softly as he inches himself closer to the others side. “We’re the good guys, remember?” 

Instead of answering, Mick grunted through a sneer but moved to wrap his arm around Nate’s trim waist and pulled the younger more firmly into his side as they continued to watch Ray fall further into a tizzy over Amaya’s, admittedly, superficial wounds.

Atomic SteelVixenWave - College Group Project AU or Interning Somewhere Together AU?

The interning one would be utterly hilarious but I think I’d go with the college group project AU. 

Mick who’s going to school, because Len’s going to school because Len wants to be better for his boyfriend. So naturally Mick tags along, but isn’t really sure what he wants to do until he takes a lit class, and maybe sort of falls in love, so makes it his major. 

And its during Mick’s third year when he gets paired up with Amaya, Ray and Nate for a group project and its…its a disaster from the get go. Ray and Nate hit it off, and Amaya and Nate are already dating, so the three know each other so Mick’s the odd man out. And it doesn’t help that Mick says something to Ray, in that tactless way he talks (he doesn’t mean anything by it and he’s always had Len there to smooth things over) but they don’t know that, so its a rough start.

And then Amaya sees Mick with Lisa and Barry, sees how soft he is, sees how he says things but Lisa and Barry (both she knows from other classes and Ray) gently correct or get what he actually means, and it confuses Amaya for a bit. She breaks down and asks Barry about it, and he explains Mick’s gruff and often crude way of saying things but that he really doesn’t mean them, Mick just doesn’t always know how to say things in the way he means them.

It helps Amaya see Mick in a new light, and helps smooth the group dynamics a bit, so while they aren’t friends by the end of it, they are certainly better then they were.

But they spend the rest of their years in school learning how to talk and communicate, and letting the obvious tension build between them until Ray’s, who is the last to finish schooling, graduation night, when the thing between them all, the unnamed thing, explodes and they end up spending a weekend working out their sexual frustrations, before spending another three weeks hashing out what this all truly means to them and what they want from it.

(Spoilers, it lasts a life time and three kids, four snakes and a stray cat that almost accidentally kills Ray, but that’s for another time.)
