Pre-gaming my gardening

OK! ENOUGH STALLING! GET thyself outside and fix up that berry area!!!! (I said to myself)

So I flittered around a bit after barn chores, trying to stuff wire, pliers, etc into my capacious overall pockets. Stormed determinedly out there. Based on how saggy the wire got, I decided to add two more metal posts for support. I found the posts, leaning against the woodshed, and located a small sledge hammer. Bink-bink-bink, posts in the ground. I was a little fumble-fingered trying to wire the welded-wire fencing to the posts, but I managed. It's not a large area, only about 9 yards/meters long by 3 wide.

Wire attended to, I decided to dig out the opportunistic weeds that were already coming up. I was kneeling between the strawberries and the cherry bushes, grimly inconveniencing* the ground ivy, when flowers petals rained down around me. "Aw," I thought, "Look at the cherry blossoms falling, they look just like sno - "

Oh. Shit.

"Just like snow" my Aunt Fanny; that IS snow. Definitely not an odd occurrence for this climate zone. Call it a cherry snow. Hopefully it won't get *much* colder.

If you're in Wisconsin and looking for (or can take and process) meat birds, or know someone who can, there's a Situation going on:

The producer company just decided they didn't want the birds anymore and left the farmers that raised the birds a few days ago high and dry with no food coming in beyond what they had on hand. They've been working with locals have been organizing to get the birds out and processed so they don't suffer.
