International Atiny Rant
Here is my random rant as an International Atiny. These are just my thoughts as an American Atiny. Yes they will no doubt be controversial.
It's can be very frustrating being an Ateez fan who is
#1 not korean or
#2 doesn't live in Korea.
Why? because we are truly not even a thought. Now I understand that Ateez is a korean group, based in Korea, for K-pop, and everything. Yes, I understand that. I am not blind to the situation. I understand that most things being done (event wise, merch wise, concert wise, etc.) will be done in Korea or Japan. Why? because that is there home base. That is who they want their main audience to be. With that being said. Ateez is not that big in Korea and some of the people that show up to these fan events either dont know their music, dont know who they are, or straight up ignore every member they dont like. Has anyone ever noticed the full on horror stories about K-tinys and how they treat the boys? I am not saying all K-Tiny's treat them like this but there is always a story after one of their events. And now, people are making abusive threats and death threats against Hwa for the fan meet happening tomorrow. Like wtf.
It's just frustrating when Ateez is MUCH more famous internationally yet International fans get NOTHING. And if we do get something it is in LA or sometimes NY. At least give us Aniteez where we dont have to pay for worldwide shipping. Put them in a warehouse in America and give us normal shipping. LIKE GIVE US SOMETHING. The people who provide you with the most support.
And I understand that might be hard, they might not have the means to do that but sometimes it just feels like we support these groups (not just Ateez) and unless you are korean or live in Korea, you are literally not even considered a fan cause they dont give you any sort of attention. The only group that has ever , in my opinion, felt FULLY inclusive when it comes to fans all around the world (when it comes to experiences in different places) is BTS and honestly Stray Kids ( and I barely Stan them).
These are just my thoughts as an American Atiny. Feel free to leave yours. Please dont attack me. I am just venting. I adore Ateez and will always support them .

Could you do a reading on ateez thoughts on the brazilian show that they just made or what they think about the contry please?
It may seem like a little dumb question but i genuinely got curious about it
Thank you in advance love😀
ateez tarot reading
the member's thoughts on brasil and it's concert
ALL ALLEGED
somebody else asked for each member, so I'll combine both readings here hehe
general (all members, kq and staff)
they definitely feel that they were robbed a little, of opportunities, jongho wasn't there, the venue was not as big as promised, they didn't have time, fans were rude, bla bla bla. it was very reassuring tho, their first stadium, on the other side of the country, they felt energized, strong at work. but they had 0 time to enjoy, brasil is such a beautiful country, a tourist's wonderland, and they couldn't, it's a shame. I heard mingi bought a keychain.
seonghwa:
seonghwa was impacted frrr, he felt that he was dreaming, he really did wish to come here since childhood but he couldn't enjoy much, which made him upset. the concert, to him, was a dream come true, he's giving me sparkly feelings, he was really in love with the vibe and stuff, dude loves performing and the whole routine around it. he thought the rain was beautiful for the concert, but he wished to have met brasil in its tropical weather (cmon he's a tourist, why would kq do that with him 😭) he thought the place was dangerous, the 4 of pentacles comes up, holding his bag very tightly; the concert was also, the stage was a bit slippery and the boys saw many fans leaving the venue sick. he thought it was a beautiful beautiful place, he's so easily impressed, he loved it there because it was interesting to see completely different cultures, ways of living, literally night and day; the crowd and the staff are very different feom what deals with in korea, not that one is better than the other, it was just nice to see those contrasts. he also thought it was crowded, both the concert and the city, they couldn't go anywhere because fans followed them, they had to eat in super unknown places to not be seen. "I loved the meat, very salty, crispy, juicy" he wants to return as a tourist.
hongjoong
bro was so tired, he couldn't think straight, everywhere, all the time they needed him to talk and represent and work. working. all. the. time. my dude is 🤪 his mind is like shutting off, trying to stay awake, telling me his experience he was saying a bunch of nothings that he rehearsed and said millions of times before. "the entire time I was thinking 'I want my beeed I wanna go hoooome'". he is so tired, poor thing, I don't think he even knew where he was, what he was doing. he said it was beautiful, but he got near a head rest, he slept. he was not thinking straight, but my spirit guide said that he's sleeping HARD now kmkkkkkk somehow, tho, it was refreshing to him, like restoring his strength or passion or something, the feeling of achieving something new, seeing different people, different places. he just felt bigger, stablished, "I fucking did it". that's what he said. (before they came to latam, they were in LA and Japan again, and as much as they like it, it renewed his spirit to go and see what he hasn't, it didn't feel as limiting)
yunho
hes very angry, he did not enjoy, I won't go further because it's ugly. it's his own issues with the company. he said everyone's a son of a bitch, I'm laughing my ass off. he did say and show that he drank alcohol there "so icy", he's very very funny, wish yall seen it, dude's cool. he said he wanted to walk around the stadium and he couldn't, they said it was dangerous, he said he'll burn the stadium now because why not "just make it safer????" he said delicious beer and coffee, allegedly he brought home a few bags of brazilian coffee. he hates everyone and every company ever, yall please have patience with him, he's going through puberty.
yeosang
DUDE IS SO PROPER, HE IS SO CUTE.
he kept repeating he was so tired and he already forgot what happened in the concert. he loved the food, allegedly, farofa and guaraná were included and he wants more for his whole life, best part of the trip, he'll never forget. so cold, allegedly he forgot it's winter in the south and didn't pack accordingly.
san
san was feeling himself, he felt hot and sexy and desired (my whole body is cringing). the country looks nice to live in, he liked when it was calm, he liked the melancholy of the weather, it inspired him. coffee again, a hot topic, pão de queijo, allegedly, he liked the cheese itself, he said cheese puffs, I think he means bolinhas de queijo, but I am not sure cause I wasn't there. he liked his room, he liked the view of the stadium, the fan lights were beautiful. he wished fans would've been less physical, in every way, he had his space invaded and he thought fans only cared about their looks and bodies, which made him disappointed. san said he has lost his faith in humanity a long time ago and brasil solidified that. he knows he doesn't have a fair opinion tho, because his stay was so quick and packed, he wants to give it a second chance when he can just be san, hiding in his thoughts and melancholy.
mingi
mingi had the best time in brasil, mingi loved samba, mingi tried paçoca and coxinha, salgado de presunto e queijo. mingi didn't like the infamous brazilian soda, "too sweet", he said, underwhelming. such a mess, crowded, unorganized, mingi was stressed!! he was tired as fuck, people in that town are rude, fans give him no space, he was so annoyed, but he loved it there. there's this bit of plinc, like a little yellow light in his heart, he had such a bad experience but he feels so sweet, and calm, satisfied. mingi is an angel on earth, he said he had a spiritual experience there, he felt at home, which is very very interesting. he wants to know the country more personally, less expensive and rushed, more familiar. he felt at peace, although all he had were bad experiences everywhere, so tired all the time, he wants to return, it's very interesting. he loved the rain, he likes that weather, oh mingi said before that he loved the shower in his hotel because it felt like a sauna, and the fans are cool too, just too annoying, in his ears, screaming and demanding more of him, he's like "I'm just a dude! I can't" very softly, my god this man is an angel. mingi fell in love there, he really did, I think he found his second home. he feels so calm, so peaceful, at rest, familiar, so comfortable and truly happy. I have never read ateez like this before, it's insane.
wooyoung
"just another day, just another country, I just wanna go home". he seems to have dissociated a lot, he's tired, I won't bother him.

CHICHI AND THEIR SHIPS
inspired by @cafemilk-tea ♡
------ ♡
Miyawaki Sakura (LE SSERAFIM, ex. HKT48, IZ*ONE) - Sakura really liked Chichi's work and vice versa, they met through Changbin who knows Chaeyeon (soloist, ex. IZ*ONE, JYP trainee). Since then, they spend a lot of time together (as much as their busy schedules allow). They often play console games and watch dramas together while expanding their Korean vocabulary. Chichi also confessed that she had watched Sakura on stage since HKT48.
Komiyama Haruka (AKB48) - The girls met not long after Haruka confessed in an interview that Chichi was her ideal type. Both are big fans of the "Love Live!" series.
Ushio Sarina (HINATAZAKA46) - The girls met after one of Stray Kids concerts in Japan where Sarina attended. Chichi quickly "fell in love" with her gentle personality, and they have exchanged letters frequently since then, which they both find very cute and more personal. As part of promoting Stray Kids with "Circus", Chichi received a 15-minute segment on Japanese radio, "I Can Say It!", with Sarina as co-host. The program was broadcast twice a week for 2 weeks (4 episodes). During the show, there were many cute interactions between them, which ultimately stole the hearts of fans.
Myoui Mina (TWICE) - The girls obviously know each other from the label. Both are trained in ballet, sometimes spending their free time recalling some choreography. In addition, they often bring each other gifts from Japan whenever one of them is there. Both Mina and Chichi have mentioned multiple times on Bubble that they are currently together - they both always send then a short text message: "🐧🤝🐯".
Changbin, Hyunjin & Jeongin ➡️ ♡♡♡
Song Mingi (ATEEZ) - They became friends during Guerilla choreo making period, where they quickly became the loudest duo, mainly due to their loud laughs. They also often teased each other, to the point that most of their conversations, taken out of context, would have indicated that they hate each other - which only shows how similar their sense of humor is.
Choi San (ATEEZ) - San was the first one to approach Chichi during Kingdom. He then complimented her amazing dancing skills and unimaginable condition. Achieving something similar, he stated, was his goal. Chichi was very touched by his words, and after the show, away from the cameras, they quickly became inseparable. The two often train together. Chichi on one of her vlives confessed that she and San often like to tweak existing choreographies by making them more difficult. They like to feel tired and see how far they can push their limits.

— WELCOME TO THE UPSIDE ! !
with a total of 22 shows and 16 stops across eight countries, MIRAGE finally takes center stage at their very first headlining concert series: ENTER THE UPSIDE! the setlist is an attempt at performing the group’s staple hits (and solos) while feeding fans with the most beloved b-sides since debut—it also features the unreleased songs monster + shooting stars (their latest english song). the live songs will share a glimpse of MIRAGE’s lore, friendship, and lessons learned in real time. the members were able to promote their english hits at broadcasting stations and festivals throughout the many countries they visited.
tickets were in high demand before the presale period opened, especially due to the fact that the majority of booked venues were smaller-scale arenas (minus south korea, japan, united kingdom, and indonesia’s stadiums). VIP, meet & greet, and standard tickets sold out within hours overall—some instantly in certain countries— and it’s reflected MIRAGE’s overlooked global popularity beyond south korea. since the announcement of the tour, netizens have been discussing whether or not KQ ENTERTAINMENT, their small label, has the strength (and money) to continue managing/supporting MIRAGE as they continue to climb to the top of the charts… or would a different label ruin the group’s strategies?

Wooyoung's Chaperone
An ATEEZ fanfic by AbsentCaryatid
Wooyoung's ankle injury requires him to make an early return from tour. You are the staff member given the difficult task of wrangling the impulsive idol.
2.8K words, Content note: gender neutral reader with a Richie brace, no romance, teen and up due to mild language, real world hassles relating to using a wheelchair
~
The assignment had been pitched to you as something so simple any low-level KQ staffer could do it. In fact, that was why the task had been given to you. While not a manager yet, your training had been successful so far, and the reason you ended up being picked for the unusual job of escorting a member of ATEEZ home to South Korea from Japan. The perk of one-on-one time with an idol might have sounded like an honor so early in your career, but the reality would be far different if the copious warnings to brace yourself were anything to go by.
When Wooyoung twisted his ankle on tour, he had first tried to work through the pain. Hongjoong noted his friend was not giving his best performance and pulled him aside during a break to get an answer. After hearing the reason, Hongjoong ruled, “You need to sit the rest of the concert out.” Sensing Wooyoung's objection, he added, “This is not about how dedicated or strong you are. I've seen the way you practice until exhaustion. You need to heal, and while injured you pose a risk to the rest of the team if you fall on any of us while trying to keep up.”
'For the good of ATEEZ' was an answer Wooyoung would accept. Loath to disappoint ATINY, he bargained to remain on stage as long as he was seated. The leader accepted that accommodation and Wooyoung's voice was present while the usual B.B Trippin dance crew member who rehearsed Wooyoung's choreography in the development stage seamlessly filled in as understudy.
Unable to stick to the deal, Wooyoung was soon spotted far too active and being carried piggyback by Yunho to get closer to the fans during the finale. Hongjoong caught Wooyoung's grimace when the injured man was finally let down, so Hongjoong slowly walked a limping Wooyoung off stage at the concert's end with some caring but stern words for the misbehaving member.
After being checked out by a doctor it was concluded Wooyoung needed to be off duties completely for the best chance at a full recovery from what was determined to be a sprain. Heartbroken to miss KCON Japan, Wooyoung was already feeling down. To be shipped back to the dorm before his members made him inconsolable.
With a reputation as a lovable rogue, even in his subdued state Wooyoung was still considered a somewhat difficult charge. It was not through malice, and his heart was always in the right place, but things always seemed to get out of hand around him. Each of the senior managers in turn passed the chaperone task on to a staffer of lower seniority. This is how the assignment finally landed in your lap. Your first international travel was now cut short, but the perceived prestige of the new job being temporarily responsible for Wooyoung made up for leaving Japan earlier than expected.
Showing up at his hotel room bright and early the next day, you were met at the door by a frustrated Hongjoong. “I hope that wheelchair you brought has a lockable seat belt. The way my roommate keeps hopping up for one more thing when he is supposed to let me do all the packing for him, I'd glue Wooyoung to the chair if I could.”
An innocent looking Wooyoung reclined on the bed nearest the door with the injured foot propped up on some pillows, wrapped in an elastic compression bandage and under a flexible ice pack. Glancing up from his charging phone, he tiredly gave a small wave in greeting.
Surely Wooyoung was not as much trouble as Hongjoong implied. As a recent hire, your duties for KQ had not included much contact with the idols themselves yet so their off-camera personalities were mostly unfamiliar. The managers you worked with were professional and tended not to complain, though occasional groaning about Wooyoung had been overheard from time to time. Perhaps they had exaggerated, for the man before you seemed nothing but sweet despite his saddened condition.
After introducing yourself, you got straight to business. “The sedan will be here soon to take us to the airport. Do you have all your things?”
“Just one more to go.” Wooyoung swung his legs off the bed to walk the half step to the wall socket.
“Freeze.”
Before he could put weight on his feet, Wooyoung stopped in his tracks. Hongjoong's eyes widened at your commanding tone, and he nodded in approval.
Moving to unplug the phone's cord yourself, you handed it to Wooyoung who stashed it in his bag on the bed. Unsure if it was the right tack to take with your charge, you rolled up your trouser leg, revealing a black plastic brace around the calf which was held in place with two Velcro straps over the shin.
Looking at you curiously, Wooyoung joked, “Are you going to kick my ass with your robot leg if I don't behave?”
Hongjoong snorted.
The temptation to say 'yes' was strong, but you resisted, remaining serious instead. “I used to turn my ankle all the time as a child. After so much damage I now have a pinched nerve that requires my foot to be stabilized to keep the pain away. You keep clowning around like that risking reinjury and you might need a Richie brace too.” Realizing you made your orthotic sound like a punishment, you amended, “I love my brace for the mobility it returned to me, but my own dancing career was sidelined and I don't want the same to happen to you. I have been told you are going to need to baby that foot for four to six weeks as it is. Don't let it get worse.”
Wooyoung looked cowed, making you wonder of you had gone too far, but then he grinned a moment later. “I like it when you are firm with me. Everybody else outside the members seems a little intimidated by my idol status and ends up being lenient. No wonder you got this job of babysitting me.”
This time Hongjoong's laugh was far stronger.
Your unexpected skill was far from the reason you had gotten stuck with Wooyoung, but you weren't about to lose face when he was considering behaving, so you let the comment pass without correction.
“I see you are in good hands,” Hongjoong noted. Looking to you he pled, “Please take care of Wooyoung and see him home safe.” He then turned attention again to his member. “We will follow you in a few days. It will go fast. Be good.”
Wooyoung reached from his seated position on the edge of the bed for a hug before departure, but Hongjoong deftly stepped back with the reflexes of both a dancer and someone with a lifetime of avoiding most physical touch. Seeing Wooyoung's face fall, Hongjoong relented and gave a partial embrace. You suspected it would have been warmer without your presence, so you busied yourself wheeling the suitcase to the door and getting Wooyoung's shoes from the entry.
Your own medical history had well prepared you for the role of temporary caregiver. Transfer from bed to wheelchair as lightly on the bad ankle as possible was something you had mastered long ago from the patient side of things, so it was an easy matter to reverse roles this time. After gently placing Wooyoung's shoes on him, you explained how you were going to move your patient with a minimum of stress to his injury. With the newly purchased manual wheelchair now opened and locked in place alongside the bed with footrests swung aside, you asked for permission to touch Wooyoung.
He looked at you with wonder. “I'm so used to staff just touching me for wardrobe and makeup that what you have described won't be a problem. Thank you for asking though. Not everybody would think of my boundaries like that and I appreciate it. I should do the same for you. Are you okay with my hands on your shoulders like you described for the transfer?”
It was now your turn to be awed as you nodded consent. With fans cheering their every move, it would have been easy to become self-centered as an idol. Instead, the two men today had been very thoughtful and humble. Hongjoong had responded immediately to your earlier request to get a belt from Wooyoung's suitcase to make transfer easier. Actually, it had been more of an assignment to the leader of ATEEZ since your attention was solely focused on Wooyoung's needs. Hongjoong had kindly accepted your apology as soon as you realized the mistake.
On the count of three, you gripped the belt and smoothly helped pivot Wooyoung on his good foot to the chair while he held your shoulders for stability. Being so closely face to face with a star like this was unexpected. You had seen Wooyoung's charms in performance videos. In person his charisma was even more impressive. But, that was not why you were here, and it was distracting. In different circumstances you might have welcomed his approach, but not on the job. Still forming the words to ask Wooyoung to tone it down, Hongjoong noticed your quandary and stepped in.
“Your chaperone is working. Can it with the flirty looks.”
Chastened, Wooyoung explained he had unintentionally been in fanservice mode. Taking Hongjoong's advice to heart, he even checked his shirt buttons and secured the last one over his chest. “Sorry, it is a habit,” he admitted.
“I'm taking care of you because it is my job. You don't need to be pleasant to earn it. In fact, it would not surprise me if you feel grumpy or down because of the pain and that is okay.”
Reminded of his need for medication, Wooyoung set an alarm for the next scheduled dose then returned the phone to his pocket. “All set,” he announced. As Hongjoong held the hotel room door open, Wooyoung was given the task of maneuvering the rolling luggage by the handle while you pushed him in the wheelchair. His light bag for the short flight was placed in his lap and your gym bag, the totality of your own luggage for the trip, was already in the transport KQ had rented for the tour.
Hongjoong joined you in the elevator for a final goodbye before heading to the day's activities for the remaining members. Working well as a team already, you successfully transferred Wooyoung and his suitcase into the vehicle then collapsed the wheelchair and placed it in the back. Hopping in, Wooyoung patted the seat at his side and you relented, even though you would be alongside him for the duration of the flight soon enough. With a skill for storytelling, he was soon revealed to be a good travel companion.
“You know, as a trainee before my first international flight the others teased me about what the plane would be like.”
Laughing at the antics of his teammates Seonghwa, Jongho, and his specially noted friend of many years Yeosang made the ride to the airport pass quickly despite thick traffic. Hefting the wheelchair out again, for a moment you wondered if there had been a more convenient way to get Wooyoung off the injured ankle. Back at the dorm he would begin using crutches, perhaps Jongho's on loan until he was fitted for his own, but to make travel less tiring he had agreed to the wheelchair for now.
Once the luggage was checked you made it through the arduous security process for wheelchair users. Wooyoung's jokes and pleasant demeanor kept your own spirits up through preboarding for people with disabilities and their attendants. He appreciated you dealing with the hassle of insisting the wheelchair be stored in the plane's cupboard for that purpose rather than risking damage in the cargo hold.
Now settled, you both pulled out anything needed in flight then stowed bags under the seat. There was a moment of silence before Wooyoung launched into chattiness. He did have a lot to say. Any lull in conversation was filled by facts about ATEEZ and anything else that caught his interest in the moment.
“Did you know Jongho's left ear is higher than the other? He is left-handed too, but I don't think that is related. And Mingi has a mole below his eye but it is only makeup to be like me. Mine is real though. Try and rub it off, you'll see!”
“No, thank you.” You shook your head, dazed by the steady patter. Now that you were getting used to it, it was pleasant though. The constancy of his attractive voice was like gentle rain punctuated by harsher thunder of surprisingly high-pitched cackles that caused other passengers to turn heads.
By the time the plane began a descent toward Seoul, you realized all the warnings about Wooyoung had been for nothing because the two of you got along so well. It turned out your charge was not a troublemaker so much as a nonstop talker. Perhaps Wooyoung's instantly friendly approach might have been off-putting to some of the other employees, but you had not minded his style at all. The conversation had been reciprocal too. Wooyoung had listened attentively in turn, and by the end of your flight you recognized a feeling of warm friendship toward the idol.
Luggage claim went smoothly, but the trip to his dorm was another introduction to disabled life. With ATEEZ scheduled to be in Japan for another week the driving staff was either with the tour or had the time off. Wooyoung fumed when the first rideshare passed you up with a dirty look once they saw his wheelchair. You couldn't help but agree with Wooyoung that the frustrations of dealing with a health problem are compounded by unnecessary grief from other people. Luckily, another person came along soon enough.
Two people, luggage, and a wheelchair were confidently loaded into the vehicle by the able driver. Garrulous as ever despite the wear of travel, Wooyoung had made yet another friend by the time his dorm's building was in sight. With one final transfer to the wheelchair from the car, Wooyoung was back home.
Once you settled him on the couch you checked in with your boss. “Mission accomplished. Is there an aide coming? I don't want to leave Wooyoung alone when he needs to stay off that foot.”
“One should have been there by now. Let me check my messages. Okay, looks like I have some good news and some bad news.”
Having very quickly figured out the bad news, you first decided hear the part you didn't know.
“You are promoted to manager now due to this assignment. You've had a trial by fire and come through with flying colors, and the approval of Wooyoung too by the sound of his glowing texts to San that were passed along.”
You resigned yourself to confirmation of what you already suspected. “And the bad news?”
“Looks like the caregiver booking fell through due to nobody currently available at the agency we usually use. Congratulations, you are assigned Wooyoung full-time for the week until the rest of us get back.”
Overhearing the speakerphone conversation, Wooyoung whooped and let out an effusive, “Bestie!”
You put your gym bag down on the coffee table. Clothes packed for the trip would do just as well for working in the dorm. “I guess I am home now too then.”
The situation actually wasn't so bad. Schedule already cleared while expecting to be in Japan, you had nothing planned outside work. The recently purchased couch of the new dorm looked comfortable enough for keeping yourself available round the clock until other staff returned. It turned out not to be needed, though. Hongjoong offered his own bed one room down the hall once he heard about the situation from Wooyoung. It had taken some convincing on Hongjoong's part, but being better rested to serve Wooyoung was a compelling argument.
Not one to brag, you wouldn't be revealing to anyone you had slept in Hongjoong's bed, as innocent as it was with him still in Japan. At any rate, it was a far better offer than sharing with Wooyoung as he so kindly suggested. You would do a lot for your job, but you wouldn't go that far. While you trusted he would keep his hands to himself despite a tendency toward clinginess, you knew he would keep you up all night with talking and laughter. Fun in other circumstances, but not when you had a week of caregiving work to be well-rested for.

Music Monday #237: ATEEZ - Everything release: December 2023 genre: Kpop, K-R&B cw: flashing, arson, a relationship dissolving on screen
And now for something completely the same: ATEEZ's final unit MV from WILL, in which everyone cries and things end up on fire. Look, no one ever said K-dramas lacked in, well, drama. ;) The lyrics spoil the story, but if you really don't want any spoilers, watch the video before continuing further.
Obviously a solo song from Jongho was going to be a ballad - in previous years, when the team was less busy, his solo content was a series of covers for kdrama OSTs. He's main vocalist for a reason and don't even get me started on his Mayfly-V stage during Kingdom. Everything is every bit as soulful and heart-wrenching as any ATINY could have expected, a song about loss and regret and knowing you can never make right the things you did wrong, but oh, if you could.... The soft piano opening, the way Jongho pours his whole heart into his voice from the soft opening to the soaring high notes of the climax that then trails off into soft wistfulness once more to the end ... you may need to keep a tissue close for this one.
This music video, unlike previous unit videos, is almost entirely story mode, as Jongho flexes his acting chops once more, now with less baby face. Most of the flashing is at the very start, where the video flashes through snapshots of the scenes we'll see play out a bit more in the video, so the bigger warning is really if watching a relationship fall apart on screen is a bugbear of yours. The lyrics already spoil the narrative, since the song starts out talking about never being able to see the other person again, but the video offers more context to why things ended up that way.
Interestingly, this video was shot entirely on sound stages - yes, even the snowy night scenes, which was a surprise to me, too. And it's not CGI snow - watching the behind the scenes, I was surprised and impressed at the number of practical effects where others would have gone with computer-generated. Some of the fire at the end is very obviously computer-added, but it's combined with actual on-set controlled fires that the old-school film fan in me quietly appreciates. Plus the snow. So much fake snow, it's a delight ... until Jongho told me how they made the fake snow and now all I see is that. XD
And now ... the lore paragraph! As with Youth, Everything is firmly planted in the A 'verse, with Jongho as a former basketballer living with his girlfriend until they break up because he's been a shit boyfriend. This means we've moved along the timeline a little bit, though that fits with the lyric in Youth talking about being in their twenties - Zero Fever implied Heroteez were still in high school. Of course ATEEZ lore has never been entirely linear and considering ATEEZ were already in their twenties during Fever era, the warehouse scene from the diary could just as easily be happening closer to this than first appearances lead us to believe. So once again we're left with more questions ... and the recent teasers ATEEZ have released have been no help at all - I have no idea where Not Okay is going to fall and ANITEEZ are in Halateez garb, soooo. Who knows. Not me. XD
This is the last WILL unit MV ... so of course yesterday KQ put out a performance version of MATZ which has almost no footage overlap with the original MV. I had initially assumed the difference in shooting days (Everything was one day, the other three shot for two days each) had to do with Jongho being on his own for this project. But now I'm wondering if secret performance versions also contributed, since the other three have dances and Everything doesn't. I suppose we will have to wait and see.
WILL is still available for purchase, ATEEZ just wrapped a two day concert extravaganza (based on what I've seen from it so far) in Seoul to kick of another world tour (additional dates in Japan in February, further tour details to come later), and oh yeah, Coachella in April, so another busy year of travelling the world, kicking butt and taking names.

KQ Entertainment Announces ATEEZ’s Wooyoung Will Take A Temporary Hiatus For An Ankle Injury
Get well soon, Wooyoung.
KQ Entertainment has announced that ATEEZ‘s Wooyoung will go on a temporary hiatus as he recovers from an ankle injury.
In a statement shared in English on ATEEZ’s community site, KQ Entertainment made the announcement about Wooyoung’s health status.
Hello, This is KQ Entertainment.
It is with utmost regret that we relay the news of ATEEZ member WOOYOUNG’s health to the fans who have shown such generous love and care for ATEEZ.
Recently, WOOYOUNG obtained an ankle injury and has been focusing on recovery. Despite this, he has been performing on stage while sitting in a chair due to his strong will to fulfill his promise with the fans.
As the pain has continued, it was decided that he would need a thorough examination and treatment at a medical institution. After a long discussion with WOOYOUNG and all the other ATEEZ members, the decision has been made to suspend WOOYOUNG’s schedule for a period of time so that he can undergo treatment accordingly.
As a result, WOOYOUNG will not be able to join the following schedules of ‘THE DANCE DAY LIVE 2023’ and ‘KCON 2023 JAPAN.’ We ask for your understanding, as this decision has been made in consideration of WOOYOUNG’s health.
We apologize for the sudden news and will do our absolute best to ensure WOOYOUNG’s quick recovery, as his health is our biggest priority.
Thank you.
— KQ Entertainment
During ATEEZ’s concert in Japan, an announcement was made that Wooyoung would still participate in the concert, but be sitting during the performances.

Do you think K-pop concert ticket prices are too expensive now? What do you think should be the threshold, and what can be done to give all fans, whether casual or diehard, a great experience?
I could go on an entire rant/tangent on what I think concerts as a whole should be like, but it would be the length of a regular fic, so I'll spare you every issue and thought I have about them. I've only been to one concert in my whole life, so I don't have the experience or depth that other concertgoers have, but let's just say the streaming and COVID economy fucked up everything.
Prices: I believe the terrible royalties from streaming, as well as the increased demand for live shows in general has caused these ticket prices to skyrocket. Like you can't just buy a ticket for a decent seat for less than $70 now, that shit only gives you nosebleed seats. Not to mention the deliberate collusion of scalpers by ticketing sites. Those resale tickets and third parties directly cooperate with Ticketmaster so they can punch a bit more money from consumers. And don't even get me started with Dynamic Pricing and those terrible service fees. I'm fortunate enough to live in a country where such things don't exist, but with HYBE openly expressing their intention to enable dynamic pricing and finding alternatives in places where it's not available, you can bet they'll find a way to punch up the prices too.
I understand why they charge this much. Fans will go out to see their favorite artist, regardless of how much they complain about it. FOMO. You don't know if they'll come back to your country or city, or when. Not to mention, the typical K-pop concert is a much grander production than, say, your average pop star. You got backup dancers, large stages, numerous costume changes, sometimes a live band, and of course, multiple members with dozens of staff managing a group. Concerts are the biggest revenue/income drive now for a majority of artists because of how music is distributed today, so they have to break even. Doing world tours are costly; consider the VISA and other costs on a country-to-country basis. No wonder they'd rather tour the US and Japan only to save a few thousand dollars.
It's difficult to gauge the threshold because popularity and demand is fickle, especially in K-pop. However, if there has to be a limit, I personally would stop at around $1000-sub range. There's not a damn singer or artist on planet earth, dead or alive, that's worth over a $1000 ticket. Even MJ. The economy isn't looking good, inflation keeps jumping year by year, and concerts have become basically rich people havens too.
Personally, I do think it'll eventually die out. There's a touring oversaturation right now that it dries people out and we have to pick and choose who we want to attend.
There's a few things I really want to see happen in the future, ideally:
• Rookies shouldn't be pricier than their seniors. I don't care if its NewJeans, IVE, or Le sserafim, they really shouldn't be more expensive than say, a 3-4 year old group. It's ridiculous how NMIXX and IVE were more expensive than The Boyz or ATEEZ.
• Announcing ticket sale literally right after the tour announcement. This is something I absolutely hate. Why are you selling tickets for a show six-eight months away like two weeks after announcing it? Fucking insane! It gives us little to no prep time to gather up resources and plan accordingly. Also, what if something happens that causes a concert to be canceled or delayed? It'll be much harder for us to get refunds back, which is exactly why they pull this shit off. Normalize selling tickets at most two months-a month before the show.
• Make the ticket prices worth it. This is my biggest gripe with concerts, more than the prices: that you're basically paying for the seats and nothing else. I'm not gonna lie, I likely wouldn't have gone out to my one and only concert if I wasn't guaranteed anything else besides a nice seat. Pre-pandemic, the price of the ticket I bought would have given me a group/solo pic with the group and some other cool perks like maybe signed merch. Now? Most concerts give you the show and nothing more. You have to justify paying that hefty tag beyond just a close view of your favorite artist. I remember when pop stars like Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, and The Weeknd had photo-ops before the show for those VIP tivkets. COVID ruined all of that. It's such a damn shame, because at best, you're getting soundcheck, which I'm not fond of, in my opinion. It forces people to bait for interactions and not enjoy themselves during the show cuz they aren't guaranteed artist engagement (though this won't really change anything if we're being real lol). I personally would be a lot more comfortable and have a greater time if I knew I could greet them before or after the show instead of trying too hard to get their attention.
