Hornet headcanon!

'Hornet' is not Hornet's true name.

I'm still torn between different reasonings for her having the name either

A- It was given to her as an honorary title, by Queen Vespa, during her training within the hive (or bestowed upon her after having finished her training as a symbol of her accomplishments.)

Or B- She gave the name to herself, after the fall of the kingdom, as a way to separate her current self from her past while still honoring some part of her past. (The part that is easiest for her to look back on.)

As for her birth name my sisters and I have decided on Arachnè. (The name is from a Greek myth, where the protagonist Arachnè challenges Athena to a weaving contest, wins, and is afterwards transformed into a spider.)

I personally find it kind of hard to believe that Elise and Hunson were ever a couple, it doesn't make any sense to me, I just can't see these two in love.

So, what if Marceline wasn't always a demon? What if Elise got pregnant from a regular human, but the guy left or died or something, and Elise's pregnancy was a risky one, or Marceline was born as a human but got really sick, so Elise found out about Hunson and made a pact with him to save Marcy and he did it with the condition that she would become his successor and that's how he became her father?

That would be one way to explain why she got so scared when she saw Marceline using her powers.

Also, Marceline was raised in a trailer appearently in the middle of nowhere, and when they show the pictures of her and her mom at the beach there seemed to be no one around either, so I guess it's not far fetched to say that Elise kept Marceline somewhat hidden from people (probably for their own safety).

The fact that there are so many lore inconsistencies in Dr Who is sometimes a good thing actually because it means I feel justified in having headcanons that vastly and grossly contradict show canon. If the writers can ignore things they don't like why can't I.

I do understand where the Fandom comes from when it comes to the ableism presented in canon--whether that ableism was a purposeful display of micro-aggressions or an unintentional happenstance. It seems that people do not fully understand what a micro-aggression looks like, and thusly, are not able to understand it.

Still, that is why I originally made my Gonta analysis to begin with--to point out these microaggressions, to talk about it. However, as a friend pointed out to me, I do believe the approach of gently showing everyone what microaggressions look like was a bit too gentle.

Sometimes, you do need to be heavy-handed in order to make your point. I'm glad that people are reblogging it and taking my words seriously. It's a very important topic for me--and I'm sorry for not doing it sooner, to be frank. I should have stopped being stubborn a long time ago.

And, thank you for sticking around. Truth be told, I didn't expect to come back either. However, after so long of being gone and in a fandom where I felt discouraged from analyzing the text and drawing conclusions, I do miss it.

I do not really know what kind of analyses I want to do, however. I have that itch, but I don't have any strong ideas that aren't just, explicitly headcanon based. Perhaps I can discuss headcanons here as well?

like i really am straight up just playing make-believe with these characters like they're digital barbies

okay so in Iona's inventory, i've had this necklace

since very early in act 1.

it was in Aradin's chest at the Grove, and it was the first thing "we" managed to get with the "I distract them with conversation/busking and you steal everything that isn't nailed down" act/trick I had thought up for her and Astarion. I thought it'd be kinda cute for him to, at the end of this test run, present it with a ~theatrical flourish~ once just out of earshot of its original owner, and for her to ~graciously allow~ him to drape it around her neck, as a hamfisted and silly act of mock-courtship they both know is false. (it was kind of a... "we both know what this is all about and where it's headed, but wouldn't it be fun to play make-believe and pretend it's something entirely different" type of thing.)

I thought it'd be cute, if a touch bittersweet for her to keep it, just slotted away in her little "sentimental items" pouch, like.... next to the dog toy, her old wedding band, and the other useless junk she couldn't bring herself to throw away or sell.

and then today, i found this as I was selling stuff in the Glittering Gala.

it's the same design. and i like to describe Iona's eyes as "amber" when I write about them (they're kind of a reddish/yellowish, pretty medium brown). and she looks much better in golds and reds than she does in blues and silvers.

so. um.

guess who got this bloody thing "sneaked" into her inventory at the long rest.

if you think i won't 1.) exit a trading screen abruptly, 2.) switch controlled characters, 4.) buy a silly and utterly useless junk item AS that character (thought about just picking her pocket but.... we have 35k gold. why would i.), and 4.) keep it in that character's inventory until it "seems like" the PC isn't "paying attention", and then 5.) drop it into their inventory "unnoticed", all for LITERALLY NO GOOD REASON other than just to act out a silly little gesture and support the little fanfic in my head, well.

you'd be very wrong.

I kind of want to age the kantrio up a couple years but idk if that'd be weird. Is being 11 years old integral to red and greens relationship or is it fine if they're like 14. Much to ponder. Tbh i feel like being 14 would just make their rivalry more serious cause at 14 you're going through the trials of hell mentally so being champion for 10 minutes would probably make you lose your mind.

▻ OBSERVATIONS: Kotone

( so a thing I really love to do is run my first playthough of a game ic from the perspective of it's protagonist, as I feel it lets me collect lots of little headcanons to flesh them out and really figure out how they feel in important moments. Kotone is no exception to this, so under the cut is some things that happened during my P3P playthrough! )

▸ almost chronically got sick after Tartarus missions or full moons, her health is something that will almost definitely get it's own post in the future. The longest streak she went without getting sick was, funnily, when Shinjiro joined the party, and sure enough it didn't last after he was hospitalized..

▸ DA MANNNN- Junpei was easily her first best friend, and we...accidentally fumbled Yukari so hard because we didn't unlock lovers until like halfway through- ( She's sorry!! Yukari is still someone she loves dearly, but. well. oops- )

▸ ..Jumping off of Junpei, hates the feeling of being watched. She never really got over the stalking incident, and that anxiety sat with her for a long time. Yakushima was particularly stressful at times because of it.

▸ Rarely swaps personas, actually. She dislikes changing off of Orpheus, viewing it as an almost betrayal to herself. While it's a rule she'll break when she needs to, this did have the payoff of Orpheus swiftly becoming an overwhelmingly powerful force.

▸ Chose tennis and the health committee!

▸ ...Was sick during the required practice sessions for the tournament, it was rough. ( Same with meeting Shinjiro for the first time, summer school, AND meeting Ryoji. Girl could NOT win- )

▸ Developed the habit of compulsively checking the dorm's rooftop door every night, oddly enough. It became part of her daily rounds, walking the halls in the morning and night to simply just...listen. See if she heard life in anyone's room, greet and check in with those she saw milling about. It stressed her when she couldn't find someone without having a reason for it.

▸ Almost took Akihiko's romance route. He nearly had it, but fumbled at the last moment ( which GOD I'm absolutely going to talk about later. Secret third flavor of mental illness unlocked that day- )

▸ Main team was Junpei, Akihiko, and Aigis!

▸ Was sick/tired for Genuinely half of November. I know I keep bringing up her health but like I'LL NEVER GET OVER IT. HER LUCK WAS SO BAD....

...and as a little bonus treat, here's the Orpheus she's rocking at the moment ( We have not actually finished the game ) ( This is during the Kyoto trip. )

sorry to ask you this, but what did you do in team flare? like I know you were a scientist but in like what areas ect? also did you know about all of the plans of the organization?

... Yes. I knew what the plan was all along. When I was with them, I primarily did research on the energy we needed to power the weapon, as well as some research on the weapon itself, but I'm afraid that's the most I'll be able to reveal in that particular area.

On my knowledge of their plans, yet choice to still partake... Pardon me, but I would like to ramble for a moment.

I can say now that I should never have lent that organization my help nor my knowledge. It was that promise of a world without strife or struggle or anything bad ever again that lured me... I should have known it too good to be true, should have known it to be something that couldn't be worth the cost. I should have known better. A world like that could never exist, and perhaps it shouldn't either. I had been caught at a time where I was weak. That concept... It sounds much better to someone who is desperate. I was desperate.

That world, even if it could exist, even if it had been achieved... It would be empty. It would be no better than the world full of war and despair that would have been erased for it. That was never what I wanted. That world would never have been the beautiful one he claimed it would. A lot of things in life are bad. It isn't always going to be pretty. But those events and experiences help make us who we are, and in my better state of mind than I had been in at the time I was active in Team Flare, I can firmly say that eradicating that is not something I want.

I think now... That as long as there exists science and technology, that world is beautiful enough for me.
