My leshy headcanon is that the reason he is called a worm instead of a caterpillar is mainly because of his crown.

Do you know what the main differences between caterpillars and worms are? Well, one is their size, worms tend to be much bigger, and the other most important thing is that caterpillars are meant to become either moths or butterflies.

We know that the crowns make the user grow to reach their God height, which would make leshy unnaturally tall coupled with my headcanon that leshy was given that crown way too young, losing his ability to reach his true mature form, settling instead to become an odd adult caterpillar. That would explain why followers are convinced that he is fact a worm.

This would also somewhat justify why his siblings baby him so much, to them, he is, in fact, a big baby! As for what species he is? I think he is an Automeris illustris

I have tried a lot of writing programs, but I always go back to Google Docs. I have a computer, it's not a laptop but one of the big computers that rest at your desk, so I can't really bring it with me everywhere. Google Docs is just the most comfortable to me to write on my phone while I'm on the go, and then open the same doc on my computer to edit it properly. (I wrote on my phone a lot while using public transportation to and from work, so I get it. Though Docs starts struggling when you pass the 30k words mark on a single doc in the phone version. It's why I tend to split up my writing docs).

Also, it's what my beta finds easiest to use when working on the same doc as me (their edit mood and how they save editing history is really good for collaborating and knowing what changed, by who, and when). I wish there was a better app for it since I'm not a huge fan of docs, but all the ones I tried lacked features I consider essential or weren't as friendly to use.

As for organization? Well, I'm a fan of making a lot of folders and sub-folders. I have this crazy folder tree split into original writing and fanfic, then fanfic is split into fandoms and within the HP fandom folder it's divided into ships or central theme (I have a few Gen ones there) and within each ship there are ganere sub-folders (like "time travel" or "soul mate au" or anything else) It really depends on the folder what I use as the sorting system. In my nottpott folder, for example, almost all the fics are light canon divergence so I divide them by the year the story starts in ("3rd year", "4th year", "5th year", "AU")

That's my organization method for the writing itself, but I don't do most of the planning/organizing on Google Docs. Like, I have a few placeholders in the doc I'm writing in to give me a general direction while writing, but outlining, character docs, and worldbuilding I write in Notion.

I don't know if you're familiar, but the basic plan is free (both the phone and computer versions, and all edits are synced up across platforms), and it's so useful for organizing. You can make pages really pretty there, and the databases are really useful for searching information you already wrote for yourself. I never really needed anything outside the free version, as the free plan allows you to make plenty of workspaces with as many pages as you want as long as you don't share them.

Here are some examples of what's going on in my HP notion intended to help my fic writing (and meta, a bit). It's mostly lists of stuff I like to be able to find quickly and easily filterable & searchable databases:

I do outlining and plot planning on Notion too. It's just not pictured because of spoilers.

I also have a notion like the above for worldbuilding, character planning, and outlining for my original writing (Iridescent). It's really useful to have one place to go to that has everything organized like a wiki of sorts.

Random Jude thoughts I’ve been chewing on for a while. Not so much theories but I’ve just been curious about them. Under the cut for spoilers.

I wonder if he went to a “ragged school” prior to his being sent to public school.

Ragged schools were charitable schools for the poor in the 19ty century England/Scotland. They were often ran by churches.

Apparently, the name ragged school comes from the fact that children wore ragged clothing and rarely had proper footwear.

What made me wonder this was the kid from the Cruiseline event. Jude specifically mentioned the kid may have a chance if he finds a charity school. Hmm, I think Jude going to a ragged school would be possible, especially if he went to a nobles paid public school later…hopefully he would have at least reading foundation gained from the ragged school atp. But maybe not? Maybe he had to learn to read at the public school?

Also, if he did attend a ragged school then that would’ve put him in contact with the church. Idk about you all, but I’ve noticed some settings with Jude and the church.

Black wedding event, his first BD event, and he refused to go in a church in Ellis’ route. Well, the reason for that is he claims he doesn’t care to know about Ellis’ past. His 2nd wedding event is just to have or literal wedding, but he did have the pastor leave because otherwise he couldn’t sign the contract with his wife.

Hmmm, did he suffer abuses as a student as these schools? Is there resentment there? Or is he uncomfortable because they represent everything opposite of what he is….such as things like light and truth versus things like darkness and dishonesty? Did they also look down on him when they should’ve been pinnacles of support?

Ah, I’m not saying these institutions were like this irl, I’m just saying for lore purposes they could be this way. These institutions were meant to help, but well people are people.

I’m rambling now. I need to stop. But the part about truth is something I’m interested for other reasons…..

Anyway, I can’t wait to learn more about our cute and clever little Jude.

I mentioned in the linked post my reasoning, but I consider Real Alchemy: A Primer of Practical Alchemy by Robert Allen Barllet to be the best overview of alchemical concepts and how it was actually practiced in the past written in the modern day that I've read. It doesn't go into new-age stuff nor undermine the science in alchemy as many modern books do. And while it doesn't go in-depth on some stuff, it's a good source to get a grasp on alchemy and for worldbuilding ideas.
