ALRIGHT Y'ALL MADE ME DO IT!!!

My unpopular tig/tgg opinions!!

FIRST!

These are MY opinions and i'm allowed to have my own thoughts on certian things, just as you are, okay..? Just wanna..get this out of way, i know everyone is respectful in this fandombut still.

1. this is something that should NOT be an upopular opinion. AVERY IS THE MAIN CHARACTER FOR A REASON. okay? She is a girlboss, and she needs more appretiation, cus literally search up tig on tt rn. Everybody and their cat named Stewie is talking about Grayson and Jameson? WHAT ABOUT MY MG AVERY? And if you see any post about her, it's probably a hate vid about how Avery should've kept the money...SHUT UP. Read what she said carefully..."no one deserves that kind of power.." and then think about it deeply.

2. I DO NOT WANT TIG TO TURN INTO A TV SERIES (or even a movie). i can't name all the reasons 'cus then the the list would be endless. First of all, i know, I JUST KNOW, they'll choose the worst cast ever. And even if they find the most accurate cast for the Hawthorne brother i will still be dissapointed, because the images of them i have in my head...THEY'LL NEVER TOP EM. second of all, they will leave out important moments, just as simple as it sounds, and trust me they will, just like they do with most of the live adaptations of books. Third of all, SHIP WARS!!! I phisically can't with ship war, like I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF EM IN THE PAST WHEN THE BOOKS WERE STILL COMING OUT. And just the thought of Averygrayson shipper saying "yeah Avery and jameson were endgame in the books but they might change it in the movie..." GIVES ME NIGHTMARES. and overall, not everything needs a live adaptation yk? sometimes things just have to stay the way they are.

3. ...this is a bit contrevertial.and i don't want to sound like a hater since i've said this a multiple times before but Rohan's pov was my least favourite in the grandest games. Purely bcs whatever Savannah and Rohan had going on...don't get me wrong, i like Savannah (even tho she did and said some fucked up things) and Rohan, SEPERATLY. But them being together...idk man, they were too..."booktokish" for my liking, yk? and i do love banter and teasing, but they were like basic "i like you but i like winning more" "couple". Not to mention they were so random...like where did they come from? I remember when we first saw Sav and Rohan having the same symbols on their cards i was very excited, i expected a different dynamic between them...PLUS THE WHOLE GAME THEY JUST WANTED TO FUCK💀

4. Hating Alisa Ortega and loving Grayson Hawthorne is CRAZYYY, and i'm saying this bcs they're pretty similar in different ways. And the thing is people are mad at Alisa for "saying mean words to Libby" (she was literally doing her job, you would understand if you were at her place) MEANWHILE GRAYSON LITERALLY THREATENED A HEIRESS! (sayin this as a Gray stan) *sigh* y'all are something else🤦🏻‍♀️.

5. Ohh...this one is risky...BUT CAN Y'ALL STOP ACTING LIKE JAMESON IS BLAMELESS?? all i see is Grayson slander, AND I UNDERSTAND, he fucked up, but saying "Jameson was so much better than Grayson" is a lie, at least for me. (He was better for Avery tho) he fs made mistakes that fandoms chooses to ignore. Like lets not act like treating Avery like a toy wasn't wrong. Lets not act like him blaming Grayson for everything wasn't wrong. Let's not act like him reminding Grayson of Emily's death wasn't wrong. And i know that later on both him and Grayson had a great character development, but still, i've never seen anyone talk about this.

6. This isn't about tig. But LIKING JLBS WORK AND BEING HER FAN DOESN'T MEAN YOU'RE GLAZING HER💀 (talking about an argument i had a while ago...) like is it so hard for your brain to understand that it's called having an opinion. Idc if it's JLB or any other author, okay? Like i've read almost every Jlb's books and i love them, AND i also publicly talk about how much iblove her work, does that mean i'm glazing her? UHM NO WTF💀.

7. LET. PEOPLE. HAVE. PREFRENCE. (I'm talking about ships btw) . Someone prefers LyraGray over Averyjameson, and that's okay. Someone loves Averyjameson the most, and that's also okay, someone likes Libbynash more then Xandermax, AND THAT IS ALSO OKAY.

I'll probably do part 2, i have more to say i'm just really tired rn.

something i see a lot in books is like. capitalizing a word where it really doesn’t need to be? like for an example in Who Censored Roger Rabbit they spell toons as Toons. and i understand it’s probably supposed to make it clear that this is a deliberate Word For Something That The Author Kinda Made Up but like. to me it stands out too much. humans are just humans. a cat would still be a cat and a dog a dog. but toons are Toons. idk i think it just feels unnatural and unnecessary. if toons are natural to the world here why do you need to capitalize the T

Guys. Guys. Please. Not every adaptation has to be live action, not every adaption can be live-action, because making it so can rob the original IP of its very essence. If making everything look realistic diminishes it to the point where you literally have to animate it anyway to make it recognisable, then why even try to make it live action in the first place? What is so bad about animation that we have to make things live action because it’s otherwise “just for kids”? Why are we ignoring a perfectly good medium only to force a different medium to do what the former was designed to do only much worse?

Some things can only be done by animation, in the same way that some things can only be done by books or musicals or games. That’s what makes adapting things so difficult, and it’s what makes choosing the medium you want to write in so important.

#yes this is about the minecraft movie #and also the live-action Lion King #because that example is particularly bad like ITS LITERALLY ALL CGI ANYWAY???#why does this even exist? so adults feel less insecure watching their favourite childhood movie at the cost of it looking worse?#I mean if you absolutely have to adapt everything in existence at least choose the medium that would suit it best #this was apparently bothering me a lot more than I thought #animation #live action #film #films #movie #movies #story mediums #film adaptations #adaptation #the lion king #minecraft

i will admit to being nervous about the nevermovie bc i find musicals are very hit or miss for me, but i think one of the funniest (and also neatest) things they could do is have morrigan self awarely comment on and refuse to partake in the songs at first and as she grows more accustomed to nevermoor and the whimsy of the world, slowly begin to partake and include herself in the songs

#i usually do not enjoy movie musicals #i’m a broadway purist #but also at least it isn’t live action #bc i don’t think live action could dream of encapsulating the sheer joy of nevermoor #and there’s like a horrible trend lately of live action supremacy #which is why we’re getting so many ANNOYING live action remakes #i’d honestly argue most fantasy novels would be better adapted into animation

Well...damn.

I finally watched The Phantom of the Opera, and now I have to grapple with how much Operetta makes absolutely no sense.

Like I'm wracking my brain, and the only conclusion I've come to is that she'd make sense if she wasn't a ghost at all, but a siren.

Maybe after years of being cast out by his fellow humans, Erik finds refuge in the monster world which welcomes him with open arms, and also gives him the chance for a new start.

And given his love of opera, he falls in love with a siren and they have a child together. Thusly making Operetta half human, half siren.

This way, she can keep her hypnotizing voice, since she sure as hell wouldn't have gotten it from Erik.

a few days ago i (re)watched the 25th anniversary concert of les misérables and. oh god. i forgot how much this musical did éponine dirty

#partly javert too but éponine is the clearer victim #of simplifying complex characters into more easily lovable (or villainous in javert's case) archetypes #so the audience can root or despise them accordingly #(i think cocciante's nddp is also guilty of this but imo there this adaptation choice makes more sense and is better executed)#say what you want about the 2012 movie and you'd probably be right... but at least they tried and partially succeded in giving éponine back #her complex moral ambiguity with not giving cosette's letter to marius and selfishly goading him into a sorta murder/suicide plan #which more or less is what happens in the book #(javert is also allowed to be more than a caricatural villain. i mean... russell crowe's singing is. Not Great #but at least the script show the character's many layers. or it attempts to #nvm that i don't even consider javert a villain. he's 100% an antagojist but far from the main villain of the story #he's both victim and perpetrator. the law and society at large are the villains here. he's actually a good cop... which is the point!)#éponine in the book is a multilayered bordering on grey and easily the most complex female character of the whole book #but god. in the musical she's just there pining for marius and being all Saint Éponine of Saint Michel #it's insufferable. i mean i still like her but she's TOO perfect. i wouldn't have had such an issue with it if i didn't read the book #.... probably. but damn we were robbed. les mis miniseries with actually accurate depictions of the characters/the plot in general when???#(preferably made by someone who *understands* the book. tyvm)#having said that i still love the musical to pieces. the music is great the songs are beautiful the story is touching #and the epilogue makes me uglycry every damn time. but i think we really missed a chance with éponine ngl #val speaks #txt

I should probably go back and watch more of the PJO episodes since I only did 2 of them but... it's just such a rewrite of the books, and the way most posts in my feed praise it, or claim its better or improving the original... Ehhh. Call me old fashioned but I like my slow-burns, here it feels like everything from the endgame is already set in stone.

Everyone's talking about Wish right now.... The only thing I can say about WISH.......let's hope it's like a Frozen 1 type thing. Where the trailers were ABSOLUTE ASS but then the film turned out really good. TT0TT

I mean.....there is a difference between the two. While the west got weird trailers that didn't matter for Frozen (Olaf vs Sven carrot thing), JPN and other countries got trailers that actually showcased the plot and drama in an interesting way.... And Wish.....well...... Wish at least gives us a villain and a part of an argument.....and I can't see that argument leading anywhere.....great tbh. So maybe not the best comparisons but let's hope for the Frozen 1 vibe!

Anyway I'm not liking what I'm seeing so far, but I'm hoping its better than the ass disaster Frozen 2 and Ralph 2 were. ;w;

Seeing the crit of the pjo show makes me a little glad that I haven't watched it but I do know eventually I want to give it a chance. What mainly worries me is the pacing tbh and some of the important details that Rick claimed "doesn't matter" like them missing the summer solstice deadline. No hate AT ALL to the actors just everything on the technical side is what's causing me and other people to side eye the series

and you know in general i am in a constant state of liking music that is associated with and/or is from some thing i know nothing about. so is the life of the anison fan who never watches tv shows.

#literally its so funny. i just like anison. i dont know the shows. sometimes i know the manga or vn or light novel or whatever LOL #easier for me to find time to read (at night when i should be sleeping) rather than watch things. i like movies tho #and sometimes if someone sits down with me i will watch a show!!!! social show watcher #sometimes i will literally read a manga and then look at the anime adaptations soundtrack later on. its wild. i dont know why im like this #my endless knowing anison because im a fan of the singer or whatever instead of watching the show its from is the least of my worries tho #thats just a bit funny and odd. the worse situation is when you like a song and then it gets licensed for some popular thing you dont know #and now you have to be so careful. i dont know it from that thing im sorrrryyyyyyyyyyyy #its usually not too bad i'll just be a disappointment to fans of the thing. but one time this happened with a thing i actively disliked #a song i liked because an old deviantart friend made fanart of an oc of mine with lyrics from that song got licensed years later and put in #a video game i have had like irrational beef with for years. apparently theres rational reasons to dislike it too #but thats not why i had beef with it. my beef was irrational unfortunately. and now i cant escaaaaape it hjklfsjsfkdlfs #that song is NOT about that game it was licensed in it is ABOUT the emo fanart a friend made me when i was 17!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!#but other than that usually this situation is just funny lol i just like tunes.........
