Oh, absolutely. They filmed BJ2 in like 40 days, they really can get it out by 2026 at the earliest.

I think they have enough plots to work with too. The Deetz house being sold in 10 days, more backstory on Delores and Richard, maybe some stuff with Lydia's mom, Richard giving his blessing to Betelgeuse to take care of the girls and the house, Astrid dealing with the ability to see ghosts etc. 

The only issue is that they'd have to find another circumstance that relates to Lydia and Astrid regardless of BJ's presence to keep his screentime down. BJ2 wraps up their relationship nicely, but not anything with Beetlejuice himself, and Lydia to some degree. His ex is still on the loose, he didn't get the girl, his alliance with Wolf is on & off, and despite holding his end of the bargain both times, he was cheated out of his freedom once again.

BJ basically got pushed into an anti-hero role and this movie ironically redeems him. So, I kinda felt bad for him when Astrid called out the Handbook loophole and he let Lydia banish him, despite saving both of them

So yeah, a BJ3 would be possible since BJ's still dealing with a lot of things. Not to mention Bob's gone too. He lost everything except Lydia, as seen by the nightmare wake-up ending. Whatever Lydia means to him is important and he's not letting that go. There's still a lot of story that can be found in Winter River, and within Beetlejuice and Lydia, I think.
