Chapter 1
The team remained neutral as the sprite slowly floated down the flight of stairs, his form flickering in luminescence as it guides them to where his body is, but according to Robin it was just an ‘empty room’
‘Are we sure he isn’t taking us out in secret?’ commented Wally in the shared mind link, Artemis glared at him annoyed and whacked him hardly on the shoulder ‘stop being such a baby! He’s harmless enough!’
‘But how sure are we that he won’t harm us once he’s back on his body!’ fumbled the speedster towards the archer ‘there’s always a catch, no favor is free!’
‘I see your point Kidd but as Artemis and Zatanna says he’s a projection not a physical entity’ adds Megan as she floats  closer to Robin and Connor ‘But if what our mentors told us is true about this mission, then there’s a possibility that they unintentionally missed some important information’
‘what we know about this mission is that this was once a facility own by and organization called GIW, who were using some type of pure concentrated Lazarus water to power up some kind of weaponry's and clean energy plants; we also know that they moved theirs bases all around the globe by using some kind of portal, so that’s all the information that we have on paper but if what Megan says it’s true then..’ ponders Kaldur, his steps faltering a bit as he slows down.
Robin scoffed at this ‘I bet this is one of Batman usual test-‘ when a screech interrupted him; the group managed to catch themselves before running down the stairs.
“Why the fuck would you keep doing t-?!” growled Connor at the figure, before freezing in shock as the visage of the small kid started to glitch, in and out of focus. Like an old DVD player making interference. Arms going missing for a second before the legs and the head followed suit.
A silent scream muted in the child’s face, horror margin it was the last visage they managed to catch before the small child disappeared again. Shit.

A friend of mine was talking about Danny Phantom—ahh nostalgia—and she paid me for a TeddyGhost (Danny x Dash) commission
Here it is, finished! Thnax you ✨️
Context:
The idea revolves around astral travel or – going more to extremes – an accident that left Dash unconscious and the poor boy wandering around the surroundings as a pseudo ghost

DP x DC Prompt/Plotbunny #6
After days? weeks? months? years? in this mercy-forsaken lab, Danny finds himself slipping; his core straining under the weight of what he's been subjected to. In a last ditch effort to save his fracturing soul, his brain simply stops processing the pain and allows his mind to escape into a waking dream.
Danny knows it's a dream. If he thinks about it; he can still hear, see, feel the scientists at work. He doesn't think about it; instead embraces whatever false world his mind decides to concoct for him.
.
Several states away, a young boy opens his eyes to the inside of a strange pod in an abandoned lab. Though he cannot see it yet, a strange metal tag dangles from his ear, stamped on one side with the word 'CADMUS' and on the other with 'R-13'.

You've heard of "Danny Phantom Corpse AUs," right? Where every time Danny goes ghost, he dies, leaving behind a body he has to worry about hiding or destroying (and creating a new one every time he turns human again)?
I propose a similar concept: ASTRAL PROJECTION AU! Same concept, but the body Danny leaves behind is alive and he has to go back in to "change back."
Pros (for Danny):
Go ghost almost anywhere! With family? In class? On a roller coaster? Just invisibly slip out! Hit da bricks!
No need to worry about changing back and revealing himself to a ghost or hunter if he's defeated! Sorry, Reality Trip.
Cons (pros for writers who love drama/humor):
Now we gotta find a safe place to put the living body so it doesn't die
Danny passing out in the middle of class even more often than usual, and if he's in ghost form he isn't actually technically getting restful sleep, so he appears to sleep all day yet is always tired
Being knocked out in ghost form doesn't automatically send his soul back to his body
Living bodies without souls are sitting ducks for being overshadowed, and if nobody's in the body and caring for it for too long, uh...Danny would be a ghost full-time. Thankfully that would take days, but then there's the problem of his body being unresponsive when concerned family/acquaintances/etc. discover him.
Depending on how 'alive' he still is (as in whether he's fully living and can leave, or the portal accident left him braindead so he's just possessing his own body), he may not be able to return instantly, feel what his body feels while outside it, or even be able to locate it if it's moved (or he forgets where he left it)
Additional thoughts:
He can still use powers while in his body, but things like flying, intangibility, or invisibility are more draining since he's using those powers on a body. It's akin to turning someone else invisible/intangible or carrying them while flying.
If he can still experience his body's senses, Tucker and Sam can use his body as a communication device with him when he's out. The Danno Phone™️
If he's possessing his own body rather than still being connected to it, devices such as ghost shields could not let him in (or just rip him from his own body), adding an extra thing to juggle when keeping his powers and identity secret.
Feel free to use/modify this idea as desired. Honestly I'd love to see stuff on this.

The Realms React To: The Batkids Trying to Babysit De-Aged Danny
(aka “This Child Has More Power Than God and Knows It”)
Bruce: He’s two. How bad could it be?
Alfred: Master Wayne, he levitated the salt shaker and tried to crown himself “Snack King of Gotham.”
Dick: That’s adorable. I love him. He’s mine now.
Barbara: I left the room for three minutes and he hacked my comms with a crayon drawing.
Tim: I blinked and he disappeared. I blinked. There was eye contact.
Jason: He looked me dead in the eyes, called me “Angry Boom Boom Man,” and then turned intangible through a locked fridge.
Steph: I tried to distract him with a stuffed animal and he bit it and said, “This is my child now.”
Cass: He high-fived me, then phased through the floor while giggling. I’m both proud and terrified.
Duke: He used his glowing green eyes to convince a Roomba to follow him like a tiny mechanical minion. It keeps bringing him juice boxes. I don’t own juice boxes.
Damian: He looked me in the face, summoned a ghost snake, and asked, “Do you bite?” I said yes. He gave the snake my sword and said, “Good. Protect me from him.” I’ve never been so betrayed.
Danny (age 2, wearing a towel like a cape, floating): “I am Phantom, ruler of snacks and cartoons. Fear me.”
Jason: I gave him a toy gun. He turned it into an ectoplasmic cannon. I’m not mad, I’m impressed.
Dick: He just phased into the laundry basket and declared it his throne. That’s a bold leadership move.
Tim: We tried to put him down for a nap. He astral projected and started reorganizing our security protocols. While asleep.
Barbara: He reset my firewalls using finger paint.
Steph: He found my glitter stash. Everything he touches sparkles. I’m still sparkling. I haven’t touched him in two hours.
Cass: He threw a Cheerio at Damian and said, “This is your battle token. Win for my honor.” Damian accepted it.
Damian: I have never been so loyal to a warlord. I will kill for him.
Bruce: He’s two.
Danny (holding Alfred’s ancient cane like a scepter): “I’m older than you.”
Alfred (smiling fondly): He’s not wrong, Master Wayne.
Jason: He called me “Uncle Shoot Bang.” I’ve never felt so seen.
Duke: He asked if the sun sleeps. When I said no, he frowned and whispered, “I will fix that.”
Dick: I taught him how to do a somersault. He teleported halfway through it and said, “Shortcut.” My back hurts from laughing.
Tim: He made eye contact and the lights flickered. That’s not normal.
Barbara: I asked if he wanted a bedtime story. He summoned a ghost librarian who told me to use a better tone.
Cass: He hugged me. I felt peace. Then he made the couch float just a little. Just enough to flex.
Danny (cheerfully, riding the Roomba into the living room like a war chariot): “BEHOLD. I RISE.”
Everyone:
Everyone: beholding
Bruce: …So we’re keeping him, right?
Jason: Obviously.
Damian: He’s our tiny war general now.
Alfred: I’ll make extra cookies.
Danny (covered in stickers, glowing faintly): “I’m baby.”
Lights flicker. The Realms rumble approvingly.

Danny is the Tibetan Monk
So! When Bruce was travelling the world, finding masters to teach him how to fight and investigate, he came across a strange building in Tibet.
He had followed rumors of an ancient Monk who lived atop a mountain just on the edge of a Village, who had learned how to conquer Death itself, and stole its secrets for himself. Hoping to find a new Teacher, Bruce climbed the mountain and found the home of that Monk.
What he found was strange though...
The building seemed much more modern than he had been expecting, built with metal and drywall rather than ancient bricks or stones as he had assumed. There was also a strange machine on the top of the building, and if he didn't know any better he would have said it almost looked like a spaceship.
Hesitantly, he knocked on the wooden door and waited.
The man who answered looked nothing like he had expected, but so far nothing had met his expectations so he wasn't really surprised at that point. He looked relatively young, in his late 20's or early 30's, and was wearing a simple T-shirt and jeans. He had short black hair, blue eyes, and pale skin that didn't exactly match the tone of the other people living in the area. In fact he looked as if he could have been an American, rather than Tibetan.
Bruce introduced himself, explained why he was there, and managed to convince the Monk that he deserved his training.
It was unorthodox, certainly very different from the training he had recieved in the League of Assasins, but the Monk said that he was well suited for this style of training.
Under the monk he learned a variety of techniques. The ability to shield his mind from Telepaths, how to Astral Project, how to completely hide his presence from others, even from those with enhanced senses, and so much more.
By the time he was finished training with the Monk, he was confident that he could finally achieve his goal of saving Gotham from itself. He bid the monk farewell, and returned to his home ready to begin the legend of the Batman.
Meanwhile Danny had just sent his most recent student off after a few months of training.
He had to do this every once in a while. There were hundreds of Liminal and Ecto-Contaminated people out there in the world who didn't know how to manage their abilities. They didn't know how to innately seperate from their physical bodies so they could more easily feed on natural Ectoplasm, or how to shield their minds from the volatile stray emotions of the people around them thay may influence their thoughts.
It was dangerous for people with that level of Ecto-Contamination to live without knowing how to keep themselves healthy. So every once in a while, Danny would find a way to contact them and to teach them all they needed to know to stay healthy.
The "Centuries Old Monk" routine was an old favorite of his for this purpose. He would intentionally spread rumors where he knew they would hear, add in some incentive like "conquering death" to make sure they would follow those rumors, and than meet them and take them under his wing.
A few of his other favorite routines were the "Circus Act who knows more than he should", "Mechanic with great advice", and sometimes even just "Life Coach" for the more conventional cases.
And if he heard Bruce's story and decided to teach him how to use a few extra useful Ghostly Abilities, like hiding your presence or merging with Shadows, then who could really judge him? The kid had taken up a huge burden, he needed all the help he could get.
Besides, its not the first time he's ever done that.
...
Years later, Bruce met Dick and found out that he also knows how to Astral Project and Guard his Mind. He couldn't merge with the shadows or hide his presence nearly as well, but he could apparently slow how fast he fell and bend in ways even bruce couldn't.
Apparently he was taught how to do so from an old member of Haley's circus, who told him that they were meditation techniques to get "in the zone" for his trapeze acts.
Then he met Jason, who could also Astral Project and Guard his mind, and he could also heal faster than normal people and read other people's emotions. He learned from a Mechanic who used to live on his street, who told him it was just some street skills that would let him avoid the people who would hurt him or give him trouble.
Then Tim came in, also with Astral Projection and a Telepath-Proof mind, and he could apparently last for weeks on end with no food or even water, and could hide his presence from even Batman. He was taught by a butler his parents had briefly hired while away from home, though Tim's parents didn't know what he was talking about when he brought it up to them later. He was told it was just a way of "keeping his spirits up" when he was alone.
Stephanie had also been taught by an old Mechanic on her street. Same as all the other she could leave her body behind and guard her mind, but she could also read emotions and convince people to do what she said. The mechanic never gave a reason for why he was teaching her, but did say that it would help her gauge the people in her life easier. He left barely a week before Steph realized her dad was the Cluemaster.
Damien was, suprisingly, trained by the same Master that Bruce had been taught by. Talia had sent him up the mounting saying that his Father had learned from the man on the mountain, and he would as well. He was taught the same as all the others, though instead of merging with Shadows like his Father he was taught how to converse with Animals.
Cass had been taught by a man while she was running from her Father. He never said why, only that it would help her live a better life. She had the "normal" abilities of Astral Projection and Guarding her Mind, but she could also Merge with Shadows and Perfectly Read other people's emotions beyond their body language.
Duke was taught by a man who had also taught other members of "We Are Robin" during the cataclysm. He said it would help them survive their attempts at heroism, though he gave Duke extra training for some reason. He had taught Duke even more than he had taught the other Bats, alongside the now typical Astral Projection and Guarding his Mind, Duke could also talk to the Dead, See into the Past, and even Phase through Walls. With enough effort he could even Fly.
A few of his abilities were attributed to his Metahuman Powers, but he claimed that they were never that powerful before that man came along.
He also said that the man "Glowed" in a strange way. He was the only one who could see it among the members of We Are Robin, even the others he had taught.
Bruce had long since decided he needed to pay his old Master a visit.

Inspired by this because I thought that an otherworldly entity speaking obscenities through a child be FUNNY.
When Danny defeated Pirah Dark, he didn't become Ghost King, nor the Prince, instead.
He got another passenger in his head.
It's like, Pirah Dark is somehow astral projecting his thoughts to Danny, and Danny doesn't know why. He does not need the commentary of an eons old Ghost King stuck in his head thank you very much.
Then it got even worse when said Ghost King managed to astral project a small piece of himself that just, hangs around Danny 24/7.
Which nobody but him could see.
How the hell did he even manage that when he's a damn ghost for ancient's sake, he didn't know.
He' just gotten used to him, at this point.
One thing he's learned about Pirah Dark, however, is that said ghost has an extreme competitive streak.
Most of his newfound obscene vocabulary came from him. Not that he could use said vocabulary, mind you, because his mother would have his head in that case.
But still.
The number of games Pirah took over from him and progressed fast through was... both inspiring and somewhat insulting.
But anyways.
Until he got summoned by cultists, because apparently having a small piece of the Ghost King floating around him 24/7 is enough for him to get summoned in his place, and Pirah's eyes landed on one guy in a coat.
Well.
He didn't even know like 90% of the words he used could be profanity.
Then he expected him to say all of that to some guy he doesn't even know. He sweat dropped, because, while physically he could say all of those words, his mother has a sixth sense when it comes to such things.
Curse a guy out word for word by a Ghost King and face his mother's wrath for saying such words, or decidedly don't do that and not face his mother's wrath?
He'll take the second option, thank you.

The DC x DP Justice League problem
I've noticed a pattern when it comes to DC x DP crossovers where when the Justice League has to deal with anything involving the Danny phantom world They are out matched and outclassed in every way.
I know most people in the DC x DP fandoms haven't ever picked up a comic, or watched DC media that wasn't animated (or sometimes haven't even watched Danny phantom) in their lives but at some point it gets ridiculous how incompetent the regular JL is made when it comes to combating the supernatural.
And as an all-things DC enjoyer this hurts me.
Like Superman, multiple times in the past has gone up against ghosts, ghosts like beings, and ghostly Abilities using his powers like for example:
Superman was able to freeze Ghost Soldier, who could turn intangible, using his freeze breath.
Tumblr media
He could Freeze Zatanna's astral form
Tumblr media
He was able to decimate the Phantom Stranger's physical AND metaphysical form.
Tumblr media
He used his freeze breath to freeze the essence/spirit of H'el in time.
Tumblr media
When the Fortress Of Solitude's security program projections were turned into ghosts, he could still blast them with his heat vision.
Tumblr media
He withstood being stabbed through his heart and soul with magic a sword.
Tumblr media
He tanked silver banshees scream (which affects the spirit) head on.
Tumblr media
His super vision can also look past someone's body and mind to examine their soul.
Tumblr media
When it comes to Wonder Woman her shield, blade, braces, lasso, tiara, and entire body are all blessed with the power of the literal gods there is no way she wouldn't be able to go straight up to a ghost and punch it intangibility or not.
Her lasso can even drag a soul out of someone's body if needed.
Tumblr media
Same goes for Captain Marvel and his lightning.
All of Hawkman and Hawkwoman's armor (the little of it they actually wear) and weapons are made out of nth metal, which is a metal in DC that affects supernatural beings like ghost, zombies, vampire, Spirits, specters, shade's, werewolves, "the Lazarus demon" and reanimated corpses, just like any other creature no matter how strong.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Batman and Green Arrow have an entire arsenal made out of the stuff too, just in case.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In injustice both Green Arrow and Green Lantern have whole suits made out of it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And even if you don't count injustice, (which is understandable) Green lanterns can easily have their rings copy the atomic structure of any thing they need (like kryptonite for example) and since their suits are made from their rings, they would still have no problem making a suit (or really any weapon they need out of the stuff).
Tumblr media
Batman has a pair of gloves that John Constantine gave him specifically used to fight ghosts.
Tumblr media
And it's been stated that the Batcave has supernatural barriers and wards to stop ghosts and stuff from getting in. (so no just casual walking into the bat cave).
And when it comes to the whole "ghost king summoning" thing I get it it's a fun concept to play around with, but the JL and JL Dark have so many other options other than to summon what they usually believe to be an interdimensional eldritch being into their world.
like the phantom zone projector something that was able to work on Mister Mxyzptlk a full-blown reality warper from the 5th dimension.
Tumblr media
Or contacting the other supernatural experts that aren't just Constantine and Zatanna (which are usually the only contact for supernatural problems the JL has in most fic's for some reason).
Or batman just contacting the strongest supernatural being he knows, who without a doubt would come stop a major supernatural threat (as its usually depicted)
SPAWN. (The guys so op in supernatural power it's crazy)
Tumblr media
There are so many other options than summoning the ghost king.
And in a lot of fic's the supernatural members (or just any member that would could help in a given situation) are off world (for some reason?) so they can't be contacted.
That just doesn't make much sense when the JL has the technology of so many advanced civilizations and individual people (witch some are said to be among the smartest in the universe) at their disposal, they should be able to contact their people halfway across the universe.
All of this is to say that due to widespread ignorance of the world of Detective Comics and the capabilities of its hero's (and sometimes Danny Phantom) that most DC x DP situations, stories, and scenarios end up with the Justice League a collection of the earths greatest hero's, being completely and utterly helpless and incompetent against any problems coming from the world of Danny Phantom (or just the supernatural in general).
This is to no one's fault of course, believe me no one knows all of DC lore and all it's details in its entirety.
But being someone that knows a lot about DC and seeing how useless a lot of DC characters are portrayed in most situations when you know they really wouldn't be having that much of an issue handling it, creates a weird disconnect between the two fandoms where it always seems more like the Danny Phantom fandom with DC characters stapled to it.

I had a really whack dream tonight and now all I can think about is Danny kinda sorta astral projecting every time his human body falls asleep but he doesn't really suffer any ill effects from it so he just. Gets up from his body and floats over to his computer or TV to either start grinding on Doomed ("Sam why the hell are you awake?" "Couldn't sleep, wait. Why is Tucker online on my friends list." "Goddd we're so done for tomorrow morning.") or catch up on movies or series he doesn't normally have time for. Anything but studying ig.

Stalkers and Cryptids
Meeting the Bat Family
1. Danny
Since him and Wes got together with Tim at the same-ish time, it was decided that they’d get introduced to the family one at a time before going together, and for some reason, Danny got chosen to be the first to go.
It went surprisingly well! The siblings loved him (at least, they think Damien does, maybe Danny will have to convince him through the means of Cujo) and it took Bruce a moment but he came around
Duke thought Tim managed to bring the personified sun into the house at first before realizing ‘oh, it’s a person’ and switched to ‘what the fuck is up with you’, pulling out some sunglasses before asking Danny who straight faced told Duke that he ate a lot of glow sticks as a kid.
Duke asked what they tasted like.
Cass and Danny stared at each other for five minutes before nodding and continuing on like nothing happened.
Steph and Danny had to be physically separated and it was agreed to never leave those two alone. No matter the circumstances. Tim is terrified and rightfully so.
So everything was going pretty great.
And then dinner happened.
Fenton Curse reared its ugly head in the form of Danny accidentally touching the chicken with his bare hands. He barely got in an apology before the chicken jolted upwards in vengeful fury and dragged everyone into a recreation of the Cold War. Food was splattered on everything and everyone, the table was flipped to the side in an effort to be used as a shield, screams of the damned as the chicken descended upon them with a large butcher knife, something was on fire, and Alfred was loading up his shotgun crouched behind the table with Danny on one side and Bruce on the other looking like he was astral projecting but not at the same time.
It was agreed that this dinner was never to be spoken of. Ever.
Danny wore gloves from now on when he came over for a meal of any kind.
Dick had to wear a hat for a bit after the chicken managed to take off some of his hair, leaving a bald spot (Steph tried to shave his head completely to ‘even it out’)
2. Wes
They waited two months before bringing Wes to the manor and after what happened with Danny, the family was a touch more wary. Dick jokingly(ish) asked if Wes would bring anything alive, he replied with ‘Not unless you pay me’ and didn’t elaborate further.
You’d think they’d calm down after interacting with Wes for a bit because it wasn’t like he was horrible, he meshed well with the others and they could find themselves genuinely liking Wes if not for a small little thing or two. It was going too well. Wes seemed to know how to interact with all of them, barely making any mistakes that came with interacting with new people, it was off putting to the vigilantes. (Except Tim, he didn’t notice a thing odd about it)
Along with the fact that the ginger seemed to sometimes ask very…interesting questions that made the others pause. Wes can’t help himself when it comes to knowing things about people that he’s talking too, he held off this long and now he can’t help but slide in a few questions and comments here and there…just to see if they notice.
Wes could acknowledge that he found it a little funny how much he was driving the Waynes up the wall.
Bruce kept staring at Tim, as if trying to telepathically get answers from him. Tim pretended not to notice his gaze.
Someone tried to give the shovel talk and Wes responded by saying their credit card information in a deadpan tone.
This visit also somehow managed to go to hell, this one didn’t even make it to dinner. The disaster kicked off with Wes and Damian, no one is quite sure what was said but it ended with an absolute cat fight, with Dick holding back Damian who had a bruise already blooming on his lower jaw and Jason holding back Wes who had a small knife lodged into his thigh and promptly bit Jason when he abruptly grabbed the ginger.
Jason later got checked for rabies.
Wes refused to give the knife back, having left with it still in his thigh. (Danny got it out and was unsurprised by the series of events when told.)
(Batman definitely went to their apartment later that night.)
3. Bernard
This wasn’t the first time he met the Wayne Family but it was the first time he’d be meeting them as Tim’s boyfriend instead of just friend.
So obviously the meeting went find, they already knew who Bernard was so it wasn’t a get to know you meeting but a shovel talk meeting + meeting the third boyfriend
Bernard was the only one really intimidated by the shovel talks
Most peaceful night, Bernard told some of his theories during dinner, including how Superman, Batman, Clark Kent, Lois Lane, and Lex Luther were in a polygamy relationship. Jason was dying (metaphorically this time) during dinner as well as the other siblings, Bruce not so much and Damian tried to act like he didn’t find it funny (Dick swears he did).
He was the only one Bruce didn’t feel the need to heavily research. (Because he already did that when he and Tim first became friends)
( I kinda hate this but whatever, it’s been in the drafts for far too long. )

You know a fandoms gotten to you when you dream up a fic: In dream I loaded my Danny phantom DVD and saw a new episode? One I hadn't watched before and selected it.
It starts with Batman sitting in the back of a theater waiting for whatever it is to start, people around asking him why's he hear in this rinky-dink town? And Batmans like "what, a man can't enjoy a night without it getting interrupted by villains?" And people accept this
But then we learn the real reason is when the screen rolls down and a silent film starts playing with Cassandra Wayne playing the heroine. Cass who had been kidnapped by magical means.
Guess who plays the leading man? Danny Fenton. But notice how I didn't call him the hero- that's because this story is a tragedy where the girl is ripped away from the young man by a vampire villainess (played by the irl kidnapper) and is haunted by his failure.
For some reason this story is split into a trilogy and played over a week cause after the first show Casper high and the rest of Amity Park (where this is taking place) are obsessed (like Ember McLain levels obsessed)
And for some weird reason outside of the silent film trilogy my dream was a musical? Like all the kids are getting to school and having a musical number about how great and amazing the silent movie was. Dash Baxter specifically sings that he chose a grayscale outfit because of how cool the movie is.
Danny manages to astral project himself to Sam and Tucker and explain that it's a ghost that's done this, like the ghost writer but for film. And that his body is trapped in a ghost lair film studio where the story is actually being filmed live when the audience sees it so the only way to save him and Cass is to mess up the ghost directors story so could they please save them? Because the story has Cass get turned into a vampire by the villainess and Danny really doesn't want to find out if the vampirism sticks after the story is done.
Sam is like "I volunteer as tribute"
Danny protests like "I know it's your dream to be a goth vampire but the story also continues to follows me as an 80 year old man being depressed about losing the young love I once had and being confronted by said lost love being a vampire. Please just get the specter speeder and the boo-merang and save us!" Because Danny's body gets locked into the roll of tragic lead once the cameras start rolling
And then I woke up (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻
So I imagine how the story ends is with Batman teaming up with Sam and Tucker to go into the ghost zone and save the day. But how? And does Sam get her dream of becoming a vampire?
I might continue to work out the ending and write the fic

I'm like losing it over this idea, but!
(And I'm sorry to people in the John Constantine tag who just want Constantine. I feel you, and I'm sorry.)
So, in the John Constantine Hellblazer (2019) by Spurrier and Campbell, and in the current John Constantine Hellblazer: Dead in America (2024), there's a pretty huge, big, important plot point where Constantine has died. Like he for real died. His body's dead. His soul is still occupying his dead body. He's still moving around like he's alive, but his body's rotting. (Spoilers for Dead in America from here, btw)
Tumblr media
Not to get into the plot too much, but for the 2019 run, there's something Constantine promised his soul to when he dies, and to escape that, he astral projected by having someone stop his heart, with the plan to revive it later. And he does get his soul back in his body, but the body's dead.
As of right now (Dead in America #2) we don't know why exactly this happened.
At the end of 2019, we get this:
Tumblr media
Now, mind these panels comes before John realizes he's dead (by like a page or two), but I do straight up love the idea that he's pissed off so many people that no afterlife actually *wants* to take him anymore.
Now, from Dead in America #2, we get this:
Tumblr media
Implying that there's something keeping his soul and body going despite the whole being dead thing. I'm assuming that we'll be told eventually, but no idea yet.
All of that to say this: John Constantine is basically possessing his own dead body, atm. So that means he would fall under the Federal Anti-Ecto Control Acts, right???
All I'm saying is that I love the idea of an entire government organization hunting John Constantine. All I'm saying is that I really, really need to see John Constantine being captured and experimented on by the Drs Fenton.
All I'm saying is that Danny would try to get him out, especially if he was trapped in the Fentons' basement. All I'm saying is that this would be such a perfect set up for some interesting darker fic.
The current run is pretty seperated from all other DC stuff. It's basically just Vertigo comics, just Constantine, Sandman, and Swamp Thing. Which means that if we're fully running this idea, then it's not like there's the Justice League or Batman to come fix things. It's just Danny, John Constantine in his own dead body, his son Noah who is mute, doesn't seem to know american sign, and doesn't know he's John’s son, and Nat, John's "bodyguard" with a hair-trigger temper.
So, yes to a Constantine vivisection/disection, yes to Danny having to run from home bc he's just "stolen" a "government resource", and yes to Danny either having to run off without his friends or tell them and drag them on the run too. Also yes to not just having an easy way to solve the government situation (especially bc John and co are also wanted for murder).
I'm just saying that there's never been a better time to write a darker or angsty Constantine and Danny Phantom crossover.

Chance and the Community Chest
@bellsandmischief phic phight phic!
.
“I don't know, Tuck.”
“Come on, Danny.  You said it yourself.  There's not much else to do on a Friday night since ghosts trashed the mall.  And the arcade.  And the theater.  And the mini-golf course.  And the bowling alley.  And the ice rink.  And the roller rink.”
“You don't even like skating.”
“And Floody Waters.  And the park.  And the Nasty Burger.  Both of them.  And the McMasters.”
“We wouldn't be able to hang out in a McMasters anyway.”
“It's the principle of the thing.  The park is closed, too–”
“The park isn't closed.  It's just that the Amity Park New Religion Convention is happening there.”
“Do you really want to go to the park when it's full of cultists?”
“I don't know that it's fair to call them cultists–”
“One of the groups literally calls themselves the Coalition of Universally Lateral Thinkers.”
“No.  That has to be a joke.”
“It isn’t.  I've looked them up.  They've got some kind of Scientology-level crap going on.  They're convinced that you can astral project yourself to the Ghost Zone and travel to other realities that way.”
“Well, I mean, you can, but–”
“Wait, what?  Stop.  Stop walking.  What do you mean, ‘you can?’  Are you saying that astral projection is an actual thing?”
“Yeah?  Is that not what I said?”
“Right.  So.  Should we, uh, stop them?  Is that why you've been so weird about coming?”
“I haven't been weird about coming.  I've been questioning your decision to bring a dozen binders full of rules for a game when we've never been here before.”
“Excuse you, these are the latest Dragonpath PDFs that I got for the low, low price of free.  And there are thirteen of them, not twelve.”
“Yeah, and then you made up the price difference by making color copies.  Seriously, Tucker, I think community board game night is more like Monopoly and Scrabble, not, uh.  Something with fifty pounds of rules.  And no board.”
“Actually,” said Chance Counter, unable to resist butting in despite his eavesdropping being quite successful so far, “‘board game’ in this case is more shorthand for– What is that?”
He’d been listening in, but he’d thought the teens were exaggerating, as teens tended to do.  Nothing had prepared him for the enormous stacks of white plastic three ring binders.
“Fifty pounds of rules for Dragonpath,” said the white one, deadpan.  He was the one carrying most of the books.  “Weren’t you listening?”
“Oh,” said Chance.  “Yeah.  Are you the only ones planning on playing… that.”
“I wasn’t planning on playing anything in particular, Tucker just needed help bringing them over from his house.  I’d be perfectly happy with Monopoly or, I don’t know, that one where you’re building stuff on an island.”
“Catan?” suggested Chance.
“Could be,” said the boy.  Thinking back on the overheard conversation, Chance was pretty sure his name was Danny.
“I can’t believe it,” said Tucker.  “I’ve been abandoned.  Abandoned by my own friend.  Abandoned!  For what’s objectively the worst board game ever.”  He almost dropped the binders, but his friend shored up his stack with his hip.
“What, why is Catan the worst?”
“Not Catan!  Monopoly!”
“Why is Monopoly the worst?”
“Because, as our dear friend Sam would say, it signifies and symbolizes the ultimate capitalist hellscape.  And also it causes fights.”
“I don’t think Sam would say that.”
“You don’t think I’d say what?” asked a girl who had just walked through the door of the community center.  “Oh, hi.  Are you one of the organizers?”
“I sure am,” said Chance, smiling.  “My name is Chance Counter.  We’re right in here.”  He gestured behind himself, into the room where he’d just finished setting up the last of the old folding tables.  He hoped they’d withstand Tucker’s massive tomes.  “You three are a little on the early side, but our regulars should start coming in soon enough.”
“You might get some extras,” said Sam, walking past him.  “Basically everywhere else is torched.  Ghosts.”
“It’s not only the ghosts.  There’s also the construction and the convention–”
“But it’s mostly the ghosts.  By the way did you see that one of the groups set up in the park has an acronym that literally spells ‘cult.’”
“Did everyone know this before me?” asked Danny.  He circled Chance and deposited his load on the nearest table.  It creaked alarmingly.  “How much math do you need to know in order to play this, anyway?”
“Less than Monopoly,” said Tucker, also dropping his binders on the table.  “Look, man, we can basically play Doomed with these rules.”
“Why would we do that when we can already, you know, just play Doomed?”
“Because we can do things that we can’t do in Doomed.  Trust me, it’s going to be great.”
Danny blinked down at the books.  “Look, I like a good TTRPG as much as the next guy, but this is a bit extreme.  Sam, will you play Monopoly with me?”
“Sure,” said Sam, sliding the box out from the stack of games on the central table.
“Sam!  You were supposed to rail against the greed and corruption of capitalist states where monopolies are allowed to form!”
“I can do that and still enjoy a fictional monopoly,” said Sam.  “I get to be the race car.”
“I want the dog, then.”
“You two are horrible.”
“And our battle will be glorious,” said Danny.  “Should we wait for the other people, or will they not want to play Monopoly?”
“Oh, our regulars are very easy-going.  Most of them will go with whatever is set up, although we do have an RPG group that meets every other week.  They mostly play Eldritch Endeavors, though.”
Tucker groaned.  “I want the boot.”
“I sense a butt kicking joke approaching, but would you really kick a dog?  A doggy?  A cute little puppy?”
“I hate you.”
Chance heard the community center door open again. He poked his head back out into the hallway.  “Andrew!” he said, as the teens mumbled something about sense.  “Great to see you.  We don’t usually get you on the first Friday.”
Andrew, who was tall, thin, and sported a goatee, paused.  “The first Friday?”
“Lost track of the days, huh?  Well, might as well make the most of it.  We’ve got some kids setting up a game of Monopoly back there.”
“Yes, I suppose I might as well,” said Andrew.  He pulled off his coat, folded it over his arm, and stopped halfway into the room.  “You!”
“You!” replied Danny.
“Chance, you really can’t allow this poetry-destroying hoodlum in here!”
“I said I was sorry!  And then you attacked me!”
“It was my magnum opus!”
“Hey!  Hey!  This is a community game night,” said Chance.  “The center policy is that everyone is welcome here unless they start something here, okay?”
“What about restraining orders?” asked Danny.
“Do you have one?”
“... No.”
“Then I don’t see how that matters.  Now, you don’t have to play together–”
“Oh, but I will,” said Andrew, pulling a chair up to the table.  “I’ll take any avenue to give this brat the beating he so richly deserves.”
“Oh, it’s on.”
“Uh, could we maybe tone down the smack talk as well?  Maybe to something that wouldn’t get you arrested when taken out of context?”
Andrew simmered.  Danny glared.
“Hi, Chance, what’ve we got– What are you doing here?”
“Star?” asked Sam, incredulously.
“Mikey?” asked Tucker, more incredulously.
“Oh, uh, hi, guys,” said Mikey, shyly.
Danny looked between the two of them.  “Did you guys not know that they’re dating or something?”
“How do you know that we’re dating?” demanded Star.
“We’re keeping it secret!” said Mikey, horrified and loud enough that any secrecy was most likely moot.
“Not very well.”
Star swallowed visibly.  “If you tell anyone–”
“Whoa, whoa, whoa, no threats during community game night, please,” said Chance.  “My heart can’t take it.”
“Who would we even tell?” asked Tucker.  “We’re social pariahs.  Hey, Mikey, how do you feel about Dragonpath?”
“Third edition is better.  And Eldritch Endeavor is better than all of them.”
“You’re dead to me.”
“Aw, Tucker, I thought I was dead to you.”
“Anyway, this is the first Friday,” said Star.  “Not RPG night.  Is this the set with the purse?”
“Don’t think so,” said Danny, peering into the box.”
“I’ll get it,” said Mikey, moving towards the stack of game boxes where the second Monopoly set was hiding.  “Is anyone the iron yet?”
“The what?” asked Tucker.
“The clothes iron,” said Mikey.  “I like the irony.”
“Oh, you mean the useless technological throwback.”
“I iron some of my clothes,” said Sam.
“Of course you do,” said Tucker, shaking his head.  “Of course you do.”
“I would like to play the game, now,” said Andrew.
Chance clapped his hands together.  “So, Danny, why don’t you start us off, since you were the first one in?”
“Mm, yeah,” said Danny.  “Let me just finish dealing out Mikey’s money.”  He set down a few more bills, then shoved them over to where Mikey had just sat down.  “Okay.  Dice?”  Tucker handed them over, muttering imprecations.  “And… seven.  That’s… one… two… three… four… five… six… seven.  Chance.  Erm.  Chance card, I mean.  So, let’s see here… ‘Take a walk on the Boardwalk. Advance token to Boardwalk.’”
There was a wave of quiet as Danny happily paid the bank four hundred Monopoly dollars and set the Boardwalk deed card down in front of himself.  He looked up.  “What?”
“Danny,” said Sam.  “This is nothing personal, but you know that we all have to destroy you now, right?”
Danny’s eyes narrowed.  “Bring it.”

Okay, Teddy bear au, child Danny au, mixed together with a twist. GO!
So, in this au Danny had his accident earlier than in canon, I would say about 5-10 on the scale meter you can decide how accurately aged he is. The Teddy bear is Danny's true body, however, he does have this ability like astral projection or something.
Basically, his human body he can call out, though his toy body is his true one. He can walk just fine as a teddy bear, but human body gives him more height and fingers and he can give himself a hug too!
Danny, genuinely, does not understand the concept of death, and why it's bad. Because he died, and he's still alive, he can still do everything he did when he was alive.
He's like half dead and half alive so he's the exception but ANYWAYS.
Danny ends up in another dimension, he doesn't know how, but he does. He doesn't understand the concept of death, because how he sees it, death isn't the end. So, there you have a toddler, a toddler with extremely powerful abilities, who doesn't understand why death is bad and that not everyone can come back from it and isn't both emotionally and mentally mature enough to use his powers responsibly.
So, what happens?
Pure, and utter, chaos.
Sometimes Danny is having fun, other times he's mad, other times sad. None of those are good things for everyone else around, people would die, buildings would crumble, etc, etc.
All because of this [insert age here] year old child with a Teddy Bear.
Insert Klarion the witch boy.
Who sees this child, filled with the potential to cause mass amounts of chaos and create fun. who is instinctively walking the path of a budding Chaos Lord despite not having magic, and who is yet to be swayed by Order or any other force.
Well, we'll just say Klarion finds himself with a new friend!
