inspired by @where-does-the-heart-lie and given courage by @wolf-eared-fangirl and their own wonderful rendition of the asl kpop au.

i got inspired a whole lot by the notes and artworks from whery but also tried to make it my own by making it increasingly impossible realistically. one of those it’s a fanfic and i can make anything possible vibes.

all of these are just concept notes and ideas i was able to keep down for the past what? two months or so? there are a lot more wips and ideas, and i wanted to see if there was anyone who wanted to bump brains with me or was willing to indulge seeing my messy thoughts/notes.

i made law important because i am obsessed with not only asl but him too. no escape from the brain worms, really. even if he doesn’t really pop up in a lot of my current wips for this au…

i should make storyboards but my brain has latched to grps like exo or atz for like. clothes inspo. i have multiple concert wips that needed me to make an entire fake asl concert setlist so that was fun, considering how i ended up adding eng and jp songs… i cannot contain myself and have been repeatedly editing everything I have on this for months ,,,

i need to know what you think about uta being ace's and sabo's sister too... like imagine a perfect world where uta existed without the mess of film red (i did enjoy it but also uhhhhhhhh there are a lot of weird things abt it bc i dont think shanks would actually take in uta like that considering he did experience piracy as a kid. so why would he put uta through that even if she'd stay put on the ship–) ANYWAY. so lets say shanks found uta after obtaining the devil fruit and takes her to the nearest island (dawn island.) then found makino and luffy and convinces her to stay w them or whatever.

i imagine that ace and uta do bicker w each other a lot. however sabo is very kind and excited to have a sister!! he's protective of her and enjoys her songs. (which brings out a surprising singing side from sabo ehe...)

i also imagine that uta is as rowdy and gluttonous as her brothers tbh. i mean, she's the only girl there so she's more than likely to be influenced by them. ALSO imagine uta being raised by dadan wheewwwww.... i think if she was raised alongside asl bros, she'd end up way different than she did in film red and well- actually become a pirate– (maybe rivaling with her brothers? that or she acts as luffy's biggest rival to be pirate king as her way of supporting his dream) (idk im just thinking as i type)

so everythings the same but uta is there with three insane brothers (shes as insane too... she is their equal). though it's lowkey clear dadan has a favorite (she loves a tough daughter) and god everything w garp would be so insane too like. before sabo was accepted and started living with the bandits, garp was happy to have a granddaughter (till she said she wanted to become a pirate too 😭) BUT he makes sure ace and luffy treats their sister right and is again being a favorite– however, she wouldn't suck up to him like that. like how the brothers would shield each other from garp, she would also shield them from garp !!

and yes, even if uta is a year younger than ace and sabo, she still would call herself a big sister (especially for knowing luffy longer than the other two. shes just used to being the older one)

anyway... lets say asul au is a tjing, now consider ASUL + S as we love talking about asl+s. with uta around, sanji likely thinks that all sisters are good because shes nice to him too. and how she clearly loves her brothers too. but ofc, uta surrounded by brothers while claiming to be the big sister, makes sanji incredibly jealous about their sibling relationship. it reminds him of reiju and his brothers, how they never really got along. while asul got along really well. they fight a lot but it's never with the intention to hurt each other or make the other feel worthless.

and who am i if i dont bring up sabosan at some point LOL. (also mb that this ask is so long i just love uta sm and i love aus sooo bad <<3) uta is definitely one of the first to notice her brothers' fondness of sanji. she is fond as him as well but not the same way as them lol. she tells sanji some secrets about sabo and sanji just cannot tell if shes actually serious or not because of how mischievous her smile is. and uta absolutely teases sabo about sanji, especially when hes not around like– that little song that little kids sing when it comes to someone havinf a crush.

and luffy definitely chimes in while sabo is beet red and begging them to shut up fkldjfldj. makino and uta Looooves gossiping about sabo and sanji. makino does ask to tone down her teasing, which she does, but she can't help but push each other's buttons.

idk theres just a lot to think about if uta was raised with asl brothers and uta growing up to be a pirate :^)

THIS IS SO CUTE !!!! Honestly, Film Red never sat right with me but not exactly because of Shanks' decision of keeping Uta. I see that pretty much in character for the guy-- What I don't like is the way they rushed the ending and the way it all ended, in general. It's just obvious they wanted to do Uta's story but in a way that didn't affect the canon and it's just- Stupid. Idk.

But let's say Shanks meets Uta and spend some years together and she does consider him her father (as I see it, because in this sibling group all of them have to have daddy issues. Except Luffy. Because more than daddy issues he just. Doesn't care-) but he leaves her with Luffy because he says it will be good for her. I think she wouldn't agree with his decision and something like in the movie would happen. Where he just... Leaves. And Uta ends up hating him or at least resenting him a bit. And it's obvious he did for her and he had good intentions but she's just a kid, so she genuinely takes it personal. So, yeah, the girl stays as Luffy's older sister, basically. At least this is how I see it.

Then Sabo and Ace appear and- It's chaotic.

Imo, she's still a diva and she still loves music because it's in her blood and also, she spent some time with Shanks so she already has a bit of her personality made. But being with them makes her learn more about protecting herself and being a bit ruthless, although I think she's more of the type to ler her brothers do the dirty work and only follow them in their shenanigans if they go "You only say that because you can't do it!!" (<- Ace, definitely) and she has to prove she can be as strong as them. So she's a diva but she's a bit more impulsive and reacts in a more violent way. Especially with food too.

I think she wouldn't get along much with Ace at first because he's a mess and she's also a mess and they're really similar when it comes to being Luffy's older siblings so they wouldn't agree on most stuff. But daddy issues are a good way of bonding and I'm pretty damn sure that if Ace ever said "Should I have been born?" in front of her, she would go insane trying to make him see that everybody deserves to live.

With Sabo, though, I think they'd get along pretty well. Sabo is still chaotic but a bit calmer than Ace and he has a strong ideology that Uta would definitely share. He wants to make a statement for freedom and Uta agrees and tbh, he's a writer and she's a singer and there's no better friendship than that one.

Her relationship with Luffy is pretty much the same, except that she now acts way more as a sister and not only as a past friend. Of course. She joins them drinking too!!

Ngl, you can hate me for this but I think the events of Red could easily happen... Again... I mean... Not exactly those events but-- Uta's dream would obviously be to reach everyone with her music. To make them feel seen and loved and making them see they should live. Because after spending so much time with her brothers, she wants to sing songs for the rest of the people that feel the same way they do. She always has them in mind when she sings and she always, always, tries to make them have fun and enjoy life. I think Uta's perception of living and freedom would clash a lot with Ace's and she'd try to make him want to live through music. Same with with freedom and Sabo/Luffy.

But then Sabo dies. And Ace dies. But Sabo comes back and-- I am sorry, and I know it partially was the mushroom's fault, but she's kind of unstable mentally (who isn't in this show tbh) and it wouldn't surprise me that her blatant optimistic views would make her want to do exactly what happens in Red again. But I think this time it should be Sabo and Luffy the ones saving her and, you know, idk, maybe Shanks is there too but this isn't about him today. Whatever. She doesn't hurt anyone and it has a good ending, but it's not the point of the post--

So Sanji is there with them! Following what we've already been saying about Sanji staying with the ASL bros but now adding Uta!!

Uta would absolutely. Adore. Sanji. He's the perfect little sibling. He's cute and knows how to cook and he's literally everything that's right in this world. She complains about Luffy crying but when Sanji does so she only says it's cute and that he deserves to cry-- Uta likes cute stuff canonically and Sanji is the cutest thing, so it makes sense. Also, Sanji just assumes every woman in the world is perfect from that very second because between his mom, Reiju and now Uta he has only had good experiences with girls. He does feel kind of left out at first remembering everything that happened with the Vinsmokes, but Uta always tries to include him in every little thing!

She really likes teasing him and Sabo, though. Uta might adore Sanji but that doesn't mean she isn't a little bit mean to him. It's obvious that they like like each other because, you know, they're kids. Look at them. It's obvious. Uta knows, Luffy knows, Ace knows... Sabo and Sanji spend so much time alone and Sabo always tries to be next to him and he looks at Sanji with like, literal heart eyes.

Uta: Do you like Sanji? Sabo: Sanji? No. No. No. Sanji's just a friend... Uta: Why are your eyes shaped like hearts? Sabo: Allergies...

Uta is an artist. A singer. She's 100% a hopeless romantic. I will die on this hill. So while Ace is extremely "ughhhh" *disgusted noises* by Sanji and Sabo's flirting and Luffy couldn't care less (he just likes teasing them because it's fun to see them panicking), Uta tries HARD to get them together. They're listening to her songs? She will sing a romantic one. They're alone? She will gently push one of them closer to the other. They eat spaghetti once and she goes all the way to try to do the thing where they eat the same one so they kiss. Etc etc etc. She won't stop being a little brat about it too, teasing both of them. And it's driving Sabo crazy. Makino asks Uta about the kids because she knows the girl is as invested as her in the relationship. Funniest thing in the world.

Now I can't stop thinking about them spearating when Sabo dies, following what we said etc etc etc And Uta becomes a famous singer. She doesn't kill anybody, okay? Let's leave it on her just- Doing a huge concert. Sanji and Sabo have already reunited but please, imagine these two not dating just yet. They're in love and pining but not dating. Everyone hates it. And then Sabo joins them for the concert, ofc, and when Uta sees them again (and sees Sabo is alive?? Because what the fuck why didn't they tell her???) one of the first thing she says is "Okay, okay... So you two are... You know?" and they don't understand what she's saying but literally all the crew is like "They're still pining. Please. It's awful". Girl makes it everyone's problem so she does this kiss cam thing to get them together finally. Like I said, good ending.

♠ACE

Ace entered the Borderlands alone, but soon teamed up with Sabo after seeing his skills in ♦ games. He’s aware that Sabo is probably using him for his strength, but he feels confident that he could take him if he tried anything. (Whether this is true remains to be seen.) Quick to anger, Ace has been fired from multiple jobs for insulting customers, but his temper proves its worth in keeping him away from untrustworthy ♥ players. Despite being skilled in many different forms of martial arts, Ace tends to fight dirty, which often catches opponents by surprise in ♠ games. He was arrested several times for suspected arson, and while the claims were never proven, his go-to weapons in the Borderlands include a lighter, and later, a makeshift flamethrower. While initially slow to trust, once he is comfortable around the others he becomes an overprotective and even doting big brother, not that he’d ever admit it.

♦SABO

Sabo entered the borderlands with a few of his co-workers, and was immediately thrown into a ♥ game with only one survivor. (It’s okay, he didn’t really like them anyway.) Initially, he teamed up with Ace to cover for his own weaknesses - while he’s decently fit, many ♠ games require athletics even beyond his level - but he unwillingly began to get attached. Sabo has a special knack for noticing the tricks or loopholes in ♦ and ♥ games, making him an extremely valuable player to work with. An investigative journalist before the Borderlands, he specialized in exposé articles, though many never got published due to companies paying the newspaper to keep quiet. He understands the risks of getting attached to other players, but all the same he can’t stop himself from caring for the others to the point that he’d probably trade his life for theirs, despite being a player who’d usually do anything to survive.

♣LUFFY

Luffy met both Ace and Sabo in a ♣ game that required players to work in groups of three. They tried to ditch him after the game, but were unsuccessful, and eventually decided to keep him around for his skills. While he seems incredibly trusting, Luffy has a keen eye for when someone is actually trustworthy, and survived several ♥ games on his own despite other players trying to take advantage of him. He is incredibly athletic and skilled at ♠ games as well, but his true strength is his ability to bring groups of people together and help them trust each other, even if it’s just for a short time. Luffy’s cheerful attitude despite the situation endears him to Ace and Sabo quickly, and they both find themselves getting attached to him. In the process of this, the two of them also begin to trust each other for real, although they try to deny this at first.

♥UTA

Uta is an incredibly famous idol known for her cheerful, hopeful personality. In reality, she’s merely playing a role she knows the audience loves the most, and she’s actually envious of those types of happy people. (Sometimes, she secretly wishes she was really like them.) In the Borderlands, Uta’s attitude serves her well, as does her fame, and she’s tricked many other players into doing hard work for her. The poker face of her preppy facade is another thing that makes her so skilled at ♥ games, and she’s much smarter than she lets on, playing up her attitude even more in ♦ games to goad opponents into making mistakes. Uta was saved by Luffy in a ♥ game when she was almost killed by a dealer she thought she was controlling, and under the guise of owing him, she travels with ASL for a little while. However, her plans of sacrificing the trio to clear more games are derailed almost immediately by Luffy’s endless optimism.

OTHER PLAYERS

♠KOBY

Koby was initially rather meek, despite having decent physical skills and having taken self-defense lessons for years (in an attempt to stop his bullies). However, after a chance encounter with Luffy, Koby develops his self-confidence and teams up with a group of other players including Helmeppo(♦) and Hibari(♣), realizing his abilities as a skilled ♠ player.

♣LAW

Law is the head surgeon of a prestigious hospital, and he and many of his co-workers were transported to the Borderlands at the same time. They formed a tight-knit team who all trust each other deeply. While Law is good at ♦ and ♥ games, his role as the head of the hospital group and skill at planning and directing the team means his true specialties lie in ♣ games.

♦KIDD

Kidd, despite his rough appearance, is actually an incredibly skilled engineer and one of the smartest ♦ players in the Borderlands. That’s not to say he isn’t also incredibly fit, though most of the fighting is left to his partner Killer(♠). He lost an arm trying to dismantle a piece of game tech, but he built a prosthetic and has continued trying to shut the games down. 

♥BONNEY

Bonney, at only 12 years old, is possibly the youngest player still alive in the Borderlands. Unintentionally, because of her age, more cynical players will sometimes sacrifice themselves to keep her alive. She carries this guilt with her, but doesn’t let it affect her worldview - her strong, trusting attitude makes her surprisingly skilled at ♥ games, and she’s no slouch at ♣ either. 

♠KOALA

Koala is a karate instructor who mainly stuck to herself after losing her previous group to a particularly brutal ♥ game. She has a particularly strong hatred for the game masters and wants nothing more than to give them a good beating. When Sabo gets separated from his group by the ♠K, she saves him and eventually joins his group when they reunite. 

♦DEUCE

Deuce is a medical student who took to hiding his face in an attempt to “re-invent” himself in the Borderlands. His skills as even a trainee doctor are invaluable, and he meets Ace in a ♣ game and eventually joins his group to help with ♦ games. Once he escapes the Borderlands, he plans to write a novel about his experiences, though he doubts anyone would read it.

THE STRAWHATS

I’m sure you’ve noticed that none of the Strawhats are listed here! That’s because Luffy meets them when he is thrust into yet another life-threatening accident after the Borderlands, and is pulled back into another, albeit smaller game. As the only person there who has experience with the games, he manages to keep them alive and the crew becomes close friends once they escape again. (After Ace, Sabo, and Uta beat Luffy half to death for scaring them like that.)

Ideas for an acechiji soulmate au + modern au?? Pwease? 🙏🧎‍♂️🙇‍♂️

K so, before anything, I actually have a soulmates au and a modern au ASL idols au. I can also tell you bout them if you want uwu

So, idea:

Judge probably doesn't like much the whole soulmates thing, unless the soulmate is someone with power and/or money. Obviously, this leads to the kids having to repress whatever they actually think/feel about the whole soulmates ordeal.

Ichiji is the heir to Germa 66 Enterprise, so he, more than anyone, has to suppress all of that, specially after Judge sent Sanji away (they don't have that bad of a relationship here), he is barely able to see his little brother anymore. He doesn't actually want to inherit the enterprise, Niji has always been the one most interested in technology after all, hell, even Sanji was more interested in technology than Ichiji. He actually has a secret passion for the arts, specially theatre.

So when he enters the prestigious New World University and is revealed that it's required all students attend to at least one extracurriculum activity, he ends up choosing the Scenic Arts Theatre Club, lead by Global Politics student Gol D Sabo and his brother the Fire Science and EMT student Portgas D Ace.

In this au soulmates share pain and scars, so it isn't easy to find your soulmate.

Not that Ichiji cares to find them, however, Ace is a bit of a romantic in that regard, it's the whole "someone who will love, support, care for and accept you no matter what", he keeps all of that in his dreams tho. Specially as time passes spent with Ichiji in the club, he can't help but grow closer to him as he sees this stoic and shy man grow more expressive and confident with every show they put on, ofc he will always be on the quiet and introverted type, but he relaxes and lets go a bit with the theatre gang, and seeing his passion in turn makes Ace grow more appreciation and passion for theatre. How can he not fall in love? He would like it if Ichiji turned out to be his soulmate...

He actually suspects Ichiji might be his soulmate, he has been paying attention after all, there have been small intances, the blink and you'll miss type of instances, where he's sure he has felt Ichiji's pain, or that Ichiji has felt his own (although the latter is harder since Ichiji is so stoic), but there's actual proof, until Ace has an accident in the Fire Fighter Divison he's interning at.

Ace had missed that day's rehearsal for the oncoming christmas show they were going to put on, and there was an emergency, but due to stuff out of his control he ended up trapped and impaled on his torso, his left elbow and right forearm wer also severely burnt (not enough to destroy his firefighting career but enough to leave obvious scars). It happened during the rehearsal, the pain was so intense that Ichiji screamed and fell down in the middle of reciting his line, later that day Sabo received the call from the hospital Ace was in, he was the one to first connect the dots, but he won't tell either yet because he's busy worrying about his brother and then caring for him.

Ichiji is the second one to connect the dots, the first time he's allowed to visit Ace, he sees the injuries and realizes that those are the parts he felt that paralysing pain in, he touches the growing scars, specially the mortal one on his torso, he swallows as he thinks about the pain Ace must have felt, his own was terrible and had him briefly bedridden, Ace's must have been, still be, ten times worse, the phantom pain still activates his reflects and causes him trouble. Part of him, however, is awed by the discovery, he had been attracted to Ace since their first meeting, the man was charming and handsome, friendly and relaxed and so unashamedly himself, his care had helped him grow out of his shell. He shouldn't care about soulmates, but knowing that Ace is his makes him happy, yet still sad, after all, his father would never approve of their relationship (not cuz they're both men, but because Ace isn't a good choide for him as the heir of Germa 66).

He keeps visiting Ace in he hospital, always dressed well covered not only due to the winter weather, but to cover the matching scars.

It isn't until Ace is discharged that Sabo remembers to tell him about the "Ichiji is your soulmate" situationship. Ace is elated, still, the brothers are confused about Ichiji's secrecy of the topic, they know he's smart enough to have connected the dots too. They get their answers from Sanji, who was visiting with Zoro, and Sanji tells them about both Ichiji being the heir and their father's opinions on soulmates and control on his kids ("I was really surprised that he was allowed to join theatre club out of everything, turns out Niji, Yonji and Reiju are helping him cover that... I'm happy for him")

Ace "confronts" Ichiji with his newfound information right before winter break to give him space to think about everything, Ichiji freezes up and has a miserable winter break, however, his siblings support him, they even have a little escapade to visit Sanji, who also pushes him to break free from Judge.

They push him so much that he makes up his mind before winter break is over and visits Ace a little before New Year.

They kiss.

And keep their relationship a secret from Judge and other people with all their friend's help.

Ofc, it all will have to come crashing down at some point, no secret can be kept forever.

Continuing my thoughts on the Winx x One Piece au....Ace and Sabo are what? Like please I need the badass ASL trio

THOSE TWO ARE RESPECTED, FEARED, AND WELL KNOWN SPECIALIST.

Every specialist that has heard of those two brothers are either idolizing them or wanting to challenge them (ehem Sanji and Zoro) later finding out that their precious little brother is a fairy (no one knew since Ace and Sabo were completely 'mouth sealed shut' about him, their rising fame would also bring harm to them, that wasn't a joke so they didn't say anything about Luffy) and quite frankly; the miniature version of them.

They were the most chaotic brothers to ever exist.

(Garp was a member of the Order of Light and kept contact with everyone from it, also keeping good relation with everyone too. He made Ms. Fargonda Luffy's godmother, sweet right??)

I tried to think of what irl idols they would sound like, but i only have one for Ace in my mind, maybe one for sabo, and i… i mean… luffy is…. Yeah.

I think Ace would sound like Chanyeol, here’s a song from him that i feel fits his vibe

For Sabo, i was thinking mayyybeee Lee Know (Stray Kids)? But i really dont know. Idk some clear and soft voice that is in the higher range? Maybe? Eeeeeeehhhhh, yall are gonna have to help me out with him and luffy. Though i think we have our work cut out for us with the latter.

Lore:

The three started posting songs and music videos online, and they slowly gained popularity until they gained the fanbase they have in present day. I dont think they would be part of any company, mostly because i don’t think they could keep employment? If they were?

Even though theyre not part of a company, they have a lot of connections with people in the industry because theyre great guys :) and theyre fun to be around :) and so get invited to a lot of shit, like award shows and talk shows.

They are fun to have on, but it is a bold move if you want these guys on your talk show. They frequently get off topic and they’ll find a way to make answering your questions a sport or competition. Theyre like the Eric Andre show reversed.

Their songs’ topics vary on who’s writing the song. And you can usually tell really easily who wrote what. Ace’s music tends to be more laid back with clever wordplay and lots of bass. Sabo’s has a regular pop sound to it, but the lyrics are very poetic. Luffy’s are all party beats, but the melodies always has very interesting and unique twists in it. To keep the songs in an album at least a little consistent, they do try to find a theme to base them around.

The choreography they have also looks very different between the 3 of them, they all have a unique style of dancing. Relay dance videos with them are always very fun cuz you get to see them doing eachother’s choreography :) thats kinda the appeal of all relay dances, but i feel like it would be more special with them since their usual styles are so different.

They probably don’t practice as much as they should. It’s very common that they forget something in their performances and they make something up on the fly to make up for it. There’s a bunch of compilations made of their ad-libs and improvised dance movements they came up with during concerts. But whatever, right? They’re their own bosses, get of their backs, ya hear??

i like the thought that a lot of the poses they do in photoshoots, they come up with, themselves :)

On the side, they like to livestream. They frequently stream them attempting to cook things and their fanbase enjoys watching them find new and unique ways of setting their kitchen on fire. And then they enjoy watching them argue on what food to order takeout from shortly after.

okay so i was thinking bc i wanna write for all my biases (i have like 5 it should be easy..) and so i was thinking of one for minghao & jongseob

so minghaos i was thinking like college au where hao & reader are like PERFECT together. they push eachother but in the best way possible. their friends absolutely adore them. hao is a photographer / painter, reader is a singer / producer (?? idrk maybe like english major reader methinks) one day hao gets this AMAZING offer to shoot for this magazine that finds up and coming photographers. they both know this is a huge deal because SO MANY photographers that have shot for this magazine have gone onto shoot for even bigger ones like vouge, elle, all the big ones. they know this is a great opportunity for minghao but they also know that if this really is a successful shoot hao will get so many more opportunities and they might not make it together with all the moving around. hao does NOT want to leave reader but reader insists that this shoot is a once in a lifetime opportunity and he needs to take it. they come to a spot where they both understand that they love eachother and won't stop loving eachother but they need to part ways at the moment and agree if they really are meant for eachother they will find eachother again, one way or another. their parting is very bittersweet and tearfilled they agree to update eachother and still be friends as well as let eachother know where they are incase they end up in the same place.

Ok so it’s this fic

I literally cannot stop thinking about it. I love aus that explore how a character’s personality would change due to different butterfly effects ( in this case Roger’s illness not taking place)

I also like “But the sea changes colors” by the same author. It’s the same idea with Roger still living but a different funnier approach (though I fear this fic might’ve been already discontinued it’s worth checking out)

Anyways this fic starts with the preview that Roger never got ill and the Roger pirates are still going strong in the new world. They are awaiting “the chosen one” whom will bring the dawn of the world and think they know who it is. Ace, Roger’s son. Though for some unknown reason he ran away and because of that they keep waiting for him in the new world until his return. Then, in the east blue, a pirate steals Luffy’s hat and he being furious, goes out to sea to look for him.

This is just the summary put in other words, but I’d like to point some things out. Like the fact that Ace, for some reason, ran away. I suspect that this is because he felt some kind of pressure form the Roger pirates and his parents themselves, as they fully believe he is the one the sea kings talked about. This may have caused him some kind of resentment (cause we know how feisty Ace is) and made him rebel by running away from home.

((Also, with the whole Roger not getting ill thing. Rouge would still be alive (my wife) and Ace would be a year and a half older as his mother didn’t carry him for 20 months))

Then onto Luffy. We know (well at least I think I do by reading the author’s ao3 comments and assuming the rest) that Luffy grew up lonely. He didn’t get the inspiration to be a pirate form Shanks as he didn’t ever go to Dawn island, that and having Shanks as an idol was what in canon shaped Luffy’s ideals and made him such an optimist. In this au however, he stayed lonely and supposedly with no friends his whole childhood (we still don’t know anything about his relationship with Sabo or if they even met as children at all, but we do know asl don’t become brothers as stated in the tags)

He grew up as a lonely angsty kid and we know how badly loneliness affects Luffy (“being lonely is worse than getting hurt”) we don’t know when on this timeline Garp decided to bring Luffy with the bandits but he did in the end assuming by the read beads on Luffy’s neck like canon Ace ( this may be hinting at Luffy growing up like Ace in canon, having been with the bandits his whole life instead of being brought there one day) (this would mean Luffy never met Makino :’(). In this timeline Luffy would have no reason to hate bandits other than out of spite, as the bandit incident with Shanks never happened

With all this we can assume a few things. Shanks has both his arms. Luffy doesn’t have either his scar or his devil fruit ( he may be yet to eat the Nika fruit cause zoans are said to choose their users, but idk if the author will care ab that and just leave Luffy to be punching ppl like Garp). Luffy won’t be able to bond with Usopp ab the red haired pirates because Yasopp never got to tell him about his son ( this will make it difficult to get Usopp’s trust in Syrup village)

Now about the mysterious pirate that stole Luffy’s precious hat. By reading ao3 comments and looking into the story I think it’s a bit safe to assume that It’s Ace (even though it could be someone else I doubt it). That author has made pretty simple parallels between Ace and Luffy (the straw hat being given to ace, Luffy having “Ace’s” hat, the read bead necklace, etc). This means that after Ace ran away he ended up all the way on Dawn island, found Luffy and for some reason stole his hat and gave him his. I suspect that that could’ve been a way to distance himself from his father, as the people close to Roger would recognize the hat whether they know Ace or not. By giving Luffy the straw hat he could be symbolizing “putting the burden” onto Luffy and him being free of it by having a new hat (Luffy’s)
