#poorly drawn mdzs #mdzs #wei wuxian #jiang yanli #jiang cheng #They don't have an actual sleepover in this scene but the vibes were so sleepover coded...I had to get them cozied up.#Late night talks with friends and family are some of the best conversations.#My siblings and I used to have room sleepovers with each other (Actually an excuse to stay up and talk about runescape)#Currently my flatmates and I also have really great heart to hearts late into the night.#Pondering shit like 'What defines confidence?“ and ”Why are people terrified of letting themselves fall in love?"#All that aside; There is a really great conversation between JC and WWX here. They are so close and yet so far way from each other!#Fundamentally they *agree* about many things - but JC now has to play the role of someone more 'mature'.#His temper is reigned in and he had to take a more nuanced approach. Whereas WWX can be far more reactionary.#JC has changed to become someone more mature (or at least he is trying).#Contrast this attitude with the scene *right* after where WWX literally goes baby mode with JYL. Rolling around going “I'm Fwee years old”.#When children are hurt we comfort them with hugs and warm food and a laugh. It's not enough when you're an adult. It's not simple anymore.#WWX is stuck in the past when everyone else is shifting and moving on! It's a depression allegory (and just...actual depression)#But we also get to see how some things have stayed the same. They still bicker about soup. They still tease. They are still together.#They all care for each other very much but they are struggling against trauma and are not equipped to talk about it.#You can't really blame WWX for being so protective over JYL. But JC is right: “You don't have a say in who she likes.”#It may have started as an arranged marriage but *she* is *choosing* what her heart wants. JC sees that. WWX cannot.#The final act of love is letting go after all.

You know. I have Thoughts now about Olric.

I originally wanted him added as a romance option (as do many others) and I think I changed my mind! I love him and he's amazing and supportive and he likes rocks but what I think so far that I really super love for him? Is how friendly he is and so far (I'm not far) he has zero romance related lines. Like he's not a romance option, but looking at the other NPCs (the innkeeper/wife, the general store owner/wife, the retired socialite who talks about past flings) I think Olric stands out as possibly the only one I can hope for aroace representation.

Let this guy just exist with the most positive vibes ever because he's just a good guy with positive vibes for everyone.

imo a core part of the newmann dynamic is like... you've got these two very very intelligent people who have spent most of their lives being Smartest Guy In The Room. which feels great! but also, it's very hard to form close and trusting relationships when everyone else sees you as Smartest Guy In The Room. and if you maybe don't have great social skills to begin with, you can't figure out how to compensate. and it's hard to build up solid self-esteem when the only thing people value you for is your intelligence, and a lot of them resent you for that, too. so really it is very very lonely.

and then they meet! and neither of them is the smartest guy in the room anymore! and that is both EXHILIRATING (omg! someone who gets me!) and TERRIFYING (the fragile pillar i built my whole self-esteem on is crumbling! help!).

they do NOT know how to cope with this. best they can do is being obsessed with each other.

girl help reddit is speculating a gawyn-galad merger again

#gawyn was namedropped in s2 #the brother we see in the trailer is dark-haired eye candy all the women are swooning over #therefore they MUST be 2 different characters (even aside from the alleged CV leak naming dark-haired eye candy brother as galad)#because the show would not take the name of one brother and the aesthetic/vibes of the other brother and frankenstein them together #that would be the strangest possible way to merge them! and it's not the merger approach the show's ever done #it'd be far more likely to have a blonde loserboy (affectionate) named gawyn who takes on some of galad's plot activities #or a dark-haired hotboy named galad who takes on some of gawyn's plot activities #not a weird mashup of throwing both brothers into a blender and giving gawyn galad's Look and/or personality #not to mention that they have 2 completely separate stories and merging them wouldn't even make sense!#they CAN'T have one take on the other's plot activities! it's narratively and logistically impossible!#WAY more likely for them to have cut galad & given his stuff to dain bornhald and kept gawyn as the sole brother with his story intact #since dain could have subbed in for galad pretty easily whereas gawyn has no possible equivalent at all #but obviously that didn't happen and so we are getting both brothers and that is final [bangs gavel]#i know all this already but i have to repeat the daily affirmations to myself each day that passes with no word about show!gawyn djkfj #wot #wot book spoilers
