Asia-Pacific markets opened the shortened Christmas week with gains as investors closely monitored developments surrounding a potential merger between Japanese automakers Honda and Nissan.

The presidents of Honda, Nissan, and Mitsubishi have reportedly informed Japan’s industry ministry that they have initiated merger discussions. A press conference is expected later today, during which more details are anticipated to be disclosed.

Both Honda and Nissan are expected to hold board meetings to deliberate on entering full-scale discussions toward a business integration. These talks may result in signing a memorandum of understanding. The companies aim to reach a final agreement by June 2025 and are reportedly considering the establishment of a new holding company. The leadership of this holding company is likely to be assigned to a Honda executive.

As of Monday morning, Honda shares rose by 2.11%, reflecting optimism about the merger. Meanwhile, Nissan shares dropped slightly by 0.74%, following last week’s record surge when news first surfaced that the struggling automaker might merge with Honda.

The personal consumption expenditures (PCE) price index, which is closely watched by the Federal Reserve, rose to 2.4% in November, slightly up from 2.3% in October but below the 2.5% estimate. the milk flavor is good! its smooth, and has a nice texture. at first I thought it was white chocolate or coconut, though. but overall it tastes pretty nice! the cookie on the outside also isn’t too thick or thin, and feels much lighter than most other snacks I’ve had.

however, the chocomint flavor is pretty confusing. it definitely feels greasier, and still milky. it tastes good, but I definitely wouldn’t eat more than two at a time.

the design of the boxes have a envelope- like opening on the side, making it far easier to open than with a traditional box!

Apollo Twins Layer Cake Coconut & Pandan 🥥🌴 . As I didn’t know what pandan exactly is, I was curious to try this sort of layer cake. Although the picture on the package shows a coconut filling between two pandan layers, you only see the pandan but barely coconut. The cake looks kindashort, dry and crumbling, not what I expected. Nevertheless it tastes better than how it looks like 😅. It’s quite soft, not too sweet and fluffy, I can’t remember whether I could notice the pandan or not but I really appreciate the green color 😁.
