One thing I dislike about the atla fandom is how they portray Suki. Like??? She’s only known for teaching Sokka to chug that respect women juice but that’s all she’s known for?? Teaching a boy to be a decent person and that’s just?????? Not it????? She’s the leader of the Kyoshi Warriors even though she’s a teenager. She’s skilled at martial arts and acrobatics which is shown throughout the series. She is fiercely loyal as she sacrificed her freedom to help save Appa so he could go save the Gaang most likely knowing she wasn’t going to win against Azula (along with Mai and Ty Lee but I remember them running off to go after the other warriors). She’s also a well written “strong female” character with her acknowledging that she can be a girl but she can also be a warrior and that’s okay (“I am a warrior, but I’m a girl too”). She also respects Sokka’s decision when he doesn’t kiss her back and apologizes because he doesn’t want him to feel guilty or to hurt him. Without her, Zuko, Hakoda, and Sokka could most likely not break out of the prison without her getting the warden. Finally, without her, Toph and Sokka would most likely be dead which would idk suck.
Suki is truly an amazing person and I’m so sick of everyone reducing her to “Sokka’s boyfriend” or “This is my boyfriend Sokka and Sokka’s boyfriend Zuko” or even worse excluding her from the Gaang. She is just as strong as the rest of the Gaang and just because she is a side character or a non-bender does not make her less important or allow you guys to reduce her to teaching a man not to be sexist because she is way more than and people don’t seem to know that.

no nuance november except i do provide nuance because let’s be educated: criminal minds edition
1. spencer getting mad at jj and the whole fight thing during 7x02 was completely ridiculous. it was a spy mission and its the fucking fbi, jj couldn’t go around telling literal fbi secrets and when reid shoved his addiction at her, that was the biggest guilt tripping thing ever and jj didn’t deserve that at all (also reid getting snippy with her was not it and giving her the cold shoulder)
2. you guys ignore elle, morgan, and jj’s (and probably others but i’m blanking rn) trauma all in favor of reid. we shouldn’t compare trauma but the way you guys obsess over reid getting hurt yet when it’s a woman or a poc you guys just ignore it and then villanize them (jj and elle). it’s just sexist and racist and there’s no excusing it.
3. speaking of elle, you guys got mad at her for going rogue?? she killed a literal rapist???? like literally go her. but you guys got mad at her for snapping at the team??? that’s what trauma does to you like god forbid the traumatized woman snaps again, see point 2
4. idc what anyone says ashley seaver is annoying and was so god damn bland, call me sexist but i simply did not vibe with her especially when she was unnecessarilyrude to spencer (i probably don’t like her cause she was meant to be a younger jj cause cbs thought the show wouldn’t do well with older women)
5. speaking of people being rude to spencer, when they (the bau) tell him to shut up???? like it doesn’t take a profiler to know that he likes his facts and tid bits of info getting validated and when his friends shut him down??? like that’s not cool bro-
6. i am so sorry but i just hate how quirky garcia is like it’s just so annoying and i try to love it but i am so sorry i know everyone loves her but i simply am not on the same vibe length with her 😪✌️
7. someone should’ve called reid out for being a dick to emily during his addiction post revelations. like just because someone is going through it does not mean they get to be an ass (but i also do wish at least one of the team members comforted reid about his addiction besides that vague thing we got in jones with gideon because they comfort strauss but not their own team member?? huh??)
8. if you know that emily was supposed to be a lesbian and you still ship hotchniss (or any other emily/male character),,,, that’s lowkey homophobia luv
9. elle greenaway is a lesbian (have you SEEN her hatred of men, she was the stereotypical mean lesbian and good on her)
10. i know thomas gibson got fired but couldn’t they have written a better exit for hotch??? like my man just stopped showing up a few episodes and then got announced he was going into witness protection??
11. elephants memory is def one of the top 3 best episodes of criminal minds
12. writing maeve in..... was a choice. i love the actress (beth riesgraf) with my entire heart but she was the literal women in refrigerators trope and she honestly deserved better
13. the writers of the show making gay men predatory but not including gay men protagonists???? like ik cbs said no to bi!reid and lesbian!prentiss but the least you could do is like not make the lgbt community villains and predators when it’s a common stereotype???
14. the way you guys write jj so ooc in your fics- sexism❤️
15. on a final note, most of the cast has done something bad and lowkey problematic yet they haven’t done anything to improve even when they were called out,,,, stop stanning people you don’t personally know

you mentioned ashla had a besalisk master? do they have a name?
alright before I get into it, you have to understand that ashla was a little shit and was hated by most of the temple, but useful enough that they couldn’t just send her off to be a farmer.
so everyone they could be her master either was occupied with their own Padawan or Did Not Want To Deal With Her 24/7
the council decided to stick her with someone who had put decent hours into the creche, but still had decent combat ability. decent enough for her to learn enough to defend herself. and was also experienced in receiving force visions.
they paired her with pong krell. now before u freak out too much he was still a good and pure jedi who had a healthy disdain for the temple nuisance.
his descent in sithy-ness began when ashla turned 17 and he received a vision about the fall of the Jedi order.
this is answer to an ask that I accidentally deleted

I deduced that my followers enjoy the ramblings of loquacious bibliophiles, so I've decided to share my live-tweeted Kenobi III reactions here instead of my personal blog. Spoiler warning should be obvious.
I'm still very focused on how Reva / Moses' character will be treated and am happy to see Vader respecting Reva in Vader's way.
"How does the Force work" "not like that" feels like a reference to Ep. 7 "That's not how the Force works!" - Han
Obi-Wan describing it as turning on the light is a beautiful visual and honestly reminds me to meditate more often.
I also keep recalling portions of text from Clone Wars: Wild Space and would like to again recommend that literature.
I don't mind the voiceovers from previous films but if it continues much longer I will feel it's a bit... indulgent
Mapuzo hasn't been mentioned before which I conclude from its limited Wookiepedia chronicling - edit - it was apparently mentioned in a game.
Obi's hallucination of ROTS Ani reminds me of Ezra's visions of Maul.  How sweet for Leia to ground Obi - it echoes of the "sins of the father" question that haunts ROTJ.
Reva is the smartest and most awesome Inquisitor. Why is everyone still sleeping on that. Oh yeah, because the Empire is inherently corrupt and doesn't actually value talent.  Just loyalty.
"Father, aren't you going to say hello?"
Ewan: DOES NOT SAY HELLO THERE
Obi sitting in his same spot on a transport in his same robes doing his same arm pose... he "cannot help what he is."
SOMETIMES WHEN I LOOK AT LUMA I SEE HER MOTHERS FACE
NO NO NO NO I CANT CRY ALREADY THEY CANT DO THIS ITS OUTRAGOUS ITS UNFAIR
Ahhhh Leia's wondering about her parents - first of all, she's SO STRONG with the Force - second of all, what wonderful foreshadowing for the Star Wars: Bloodlines novel.
Leia and Obi-Wan can already communicate with each other through glances.  I like how she is confident that he is trustworthy even though she still knows he's not being completely honest with her.  An interesting distinction, to be sure.
A friend pointed out last night that they did a great job not spoiling her role here.  The trailer made it look like it would be all about Luke and thus far it is NOT and I am NOT complaining.  MORE LEIA
20:02 I need a gif of Tech saying "Oh good, a probe droid."
Action hero Obi-Wan has entered the chat!!! The dramatic head raise.  Deadeye shot.  SO Uncivilised.
The way she runs toward him in her little green Endor-foreshadowing jacket like a human Grogu to Mando
Knowing Aurebesh is such a problem because now I have to pause this all the kriffing time...
Leia introducing herself to the droid and introducing her droid to the droid because droids ARE life forms and obviously her parents would because blah blah blah you already know.
"You're not the first Jedi to come through here" EXCUSE ME MA'AM IM ON THE EDGE OF MY SEAT
Jedi Order symbol scratched onto the wall Leia and Lola are looking at.  Cant really make out the Aurebesh name because its so scratchy... wait, wait, I've got a signal coming in... LR_E.  Best I've got.  Was really hoping for a major easter egg like "Ashla."
Oh kriff there's actually a ton of names... I don't have time for this, someone else on the internet can do it
I SPOKE TOO SOON!!! QUINLAN KRIFFING VOS YES YES YES PLEASE GET MY GUY BACK INTO LIVE ACTION!!!!
This droid's lower limbs look like clone armor from the back..
Oh no, I was right... again.  You know that shot from the trailer that we thought was an armored clone's butt?  Yeah it was the loader droid from the safehouse 😦 Damn I am so disappointed right now.
Shit I didn't think we'd see Vader so soon.  Can you imagine how CONFUSING it would be for Obi?  Like wtf IS THAT
Ooh I did not miss how Reva was startled by Vader's callousness toward the civvies.
Echoing in my head: Vader's "I sense a presence... once I haven't felt since...." from Ep IV
When Jedi say "I'll be right behind you" they literally NEVER MEAN THAT.  See: Kanan Jarrus, etc.
Okay very interested to see how they're going to manage the transition between Ep 3 and Ep 4 lightsaber duel style.
I recall on Mustafar that Obi-Wan KNEW Anakin was his equal, so he utilized Anakin's hubris against him by manipulating him to make stupid decisions, coaxing him onto dangerous platforms, even - I know - the high ground.  And I'm seeing that here too, he's looking around his environment for an advantage, whereas Vader is just stalking him down.
Oh no, Obi-Wan released some fog for Vader to walk through.  Anakin just haaaaaaaates that 😉
"I am what you made me" ugh, I mean, I expected that, but that's pathetic.  Own your mistakes, Anakin.  You're angry with yourself.
Damn that was brutal, not like it was unexpected but good gracious I could not watch the fire scene.  Tala is great but their escape was too easy.  Droid is great.  Reva supremacy.  The end.  Can't wait for next week.  QUINLAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Thinking about Mandalorian Ezra but I had an even bigger brain moment: Ezra is multicultural. While a majority of his childhood was him living on the streets, the few years he had with the Ghost crew were the most formative years in terms of building up his morals and beliefs. And given just how many different cultures lie just on this one ship, it makes sense that Ezra would have a colorful background.
From Hera, Ezra probably picked up a bit of Ryl, learning some of the folktales from Ryloth as well as the significance of a Kalikori. I like to think Ezra has a makeshift Kalikori specifically for the Ghost crew made out of the scraps he kept in his hideout on Lothal.
From Zeb, Ezra learned how to use a bo-rifle (with adult supervision of course. It’s a delicate and rare weapon now), learned of their prophecy, and the myths and legends that Lasan is known for. Ezra probably also got a basic rundown of how the Ashla differed from the Force, and how it’s also similar.
From Sabine, Ezra learned how to use a jetpack, probably sat around listening to Sabine ramble on about Mandalorian art, and how she was changing it to fit her own style and voice. Ezra probably knows a couple of Mando’a words, mostly swears.
From Kanan, Ezra continues the legacy of the Jedi teachings. He wields a lightsaber, connects with the Force, learns their theories and katas. He is what a Jedi should be, learned all the necessary lessons, went through all the important trials.
Of course, Ezra isn’t the only multicultural person on-board. Zeb and Kanan spend time bonding by  passing sleepness nights through whispered voices, sharing memories and traditions they know neither will be able to fully celebrate again. Sabine and Kanan often train together, joking about whether the Mandalorian or the Jedi are better. Hera and Zeb trade recipes when they have the ingredients, sometimes trading the memories tied to specific cultural dishes. Ezra likes to pass on words of wisdom and superstitions he learned from his parents and other Lothal citizens, knowledge he latched onto when he felt the most lonely.
Just,,, multicultural household Ghost crew.

Here is the day you’ve all awaited for !!
Our first episode is out!
If you haven’t read the first chapter of The Art of Burning or just want a bit of a refresher on what happens, here is the link
Here is a bit of a warning: We do allude to some plot points of book 2, we don’t technically say anything but do heavily imply some big events in book 2. If you don’t mind spoilers (like me ;), mod ashla) that’s totally cool but if you do care for them, you may wanna postpone your listening of the first episode of the podcast and catch up (we don’t mind if you have to wait <3).
We do apologize however we’re working the whole shebang out but for future episodes, we’re gonna have a section at the end that just discusses any spoilers or foreshadowing of any sorts.
Anyways, enough rambling-
Here are the links to the podcast, enjoy !!: Spotify (will hyperlink later when it uploads to spotify) and Anchor

happiness by taylor swift is a disaster lineage song, sorry I don’t make the rules
okay so yes I should be writing or doing homework instead of making this extremely rambly, slightly incoherent post but it’s friday so I’m vibing and you lovely people get to join me!
this is the ultimate star wars grief song for our tcw trio and I see it in three different contexts:
Ahsoka’s POV to Anakin, Obi-Wan, and the Order after she leaves in the season 5 finale
Ahsoka & Rex during/after Order 66
Obi-Wan & Ahsoka to Vader (Obi-Wan on Tatooine and (REBELS SPOILERS) Ahsoka after her duel with him in The Twilight of the Apprentice—for reference, I’ve only seen parts of Rebels so if some of that stuff is inaccurate, let me know!)
so we go . . .
honey when I’m above the trees / I see this for what it is
on a ship, in the Force, in hindsight
but now I’m right down in it / all the years I’ve given / is just shit we’re dividing up / showed you all of my hiding spots
#1: Ahsoka’s years learning in the Order, being a Padawan, her dedication to the Jedi and her faith to their teachings (”the values of the Jedi are sacred to me”), all the years she’s given are just completely thrown away as soon as there’s suspicion against her (in the unfinished episodes, Anakin says “well what choice did we give her? the moment there were any suspicions about her loyalty the Council turned their back on her.”) they both share this anger about her expulsion, and Ahsoka brings it up later during the Siege of Mandalore when she says “and what? defend the Council’s actions? I hardly think I’m the best person for that.”
#2: again, Ahsoka’s years fighting alongside the 501st, growing close with Rex and Jesse and everyone else to suddenly find them turning on her (this is before she knows about the chips, of course). she could also be feeling this in tandem with Rex—“those soldiers, my brothers, are willing to die and take you and me along with them!” all the years Rex has given in the 501st, with his brothers, fighting for the Republic, having to watch his brothers be killed and not be able to do anything, all his hardship just means nothing. their attempts to be themselves, to be unique, to not just be “another number,” were useless in the end. the “showed you all of my hiding spots” line points to the closeness and friendship that they had with each other
#3: again again, pretty self-explanatory, all the years Ahsoka and Obi-Wan have given to teaching and learning from and loving Anakin are just completely thrown away by his fall to the Dark Side and him ultimately trying to kill them. the same for the last line applies here, they were brothers, they were sister and brother, they were a family and then it was all ruined.
I was dancing when the music stopped
In each of the scenarios, they were preoccupied, in the middle of something else (the war, capturing Maul, defeating Grievous, helping Ezra, etc.) when everything stopped and collapsed. each situation was completely unexpected and each time, their worlds fell apart.
and in the disbelief / I can’t face reinvention
#1: all Ahsoka’s ever known is the Jedi, and now without them (without anyone to help her or any connections or support), she has to completely change her way of life, as well as lie or invent a new background for herself (”Skywalker Academy,” “my older brother taught me,” “I used to live on the upper levels of Coruscant,” etc.)
also—Ahsoka becomes Ashla, and then Fulcrum (reinventing herself over and over again) and Obi-Wan becomes Ben. obviously, they don’t want to have to change, and again with “in the disbelief,” each of these events was unexpected and a complete gut punch.
there’ll be happiness after you / but there was happiness because of you / both of these things can be true there is happiness / past the blood and bruise / past the curses and cries / beyond the terror in the nightfall
I don’t think this line needs any explanation, but I’ll give some anyway! In a meta-sense, the audience started Star Wars with the happiness after all three events, but especially Vader. the Original Trilogy showed the end of the Empire, the Rebellion, the happy endings of Luke, Leia, Han, etc. in-universe, both Ahsoka and Obi-Wan hold this sense of bittersweet nostalgia (because how can you not?), both with Obi-Wan training/looking after Luke and Ahsoka joining the Rebellion and helping the characters in Rebels. they’re both trying to ensure happiness after Anakin.
but, of course, of course there was happiness because of Anakin, that’s what The Clone Wars shows us! we see them happy (or, at least, somewhat) in tcw, which obviously makes everything much sadder, but still. they were happy. and Obi-Wan and Ahsoka both know it—we see it explicitly with Ahsoka meditating to Anakin’s holo and reminiscing in Rebels. they found happiness and love and family in the war, where there was so much death, so much destruction, so much darkness and terror. they found each other, they found happiness anyway. this can also apply to the OT, since that trio also found family and happiness in the midst of the Empire.
it’s this inherent optimism that both Ahsoka and Obi-Wan share that Anakin doesn’t (or didn’t) that’s keeping them afloat. it’s the adherence to the light, to kindness, to compassion.
haunted by the look in my eyes
#1: going back to our three scenarios, you could say Ahsoka was probably haunted by the look in the Council members’ eyes—especially Yoda, Plo, Obi-Wan—when they expelled her. as well as, of course, the look in Anakin’s eyes when he begs her to stay and she says no. the ending image of season 5, the last image we ever saw of tcw for years—with Anakin’s sad, wide eyes—yeah. that look.
#2: overall, this context has less to it, but I’ll still argue that the look in Rex’s eyes, in the clones’ eyes haunted both Ahsoka and Rex, probably especially Rex. or even, not seeing his brothers’ eyes and instead seeing their blasters pointed at him. their final scene, with the eyes of the helmets (Ahsoka’s eyes painted on) stuck on sticks. yeah, that definitely haunted them both.
#3: Obi-Wan and Ahsoka both get horrifyingly clear images of Anakin’s gold eyes. Anakin’s look when he shouts “I hate you!” surely haunted Obi-Wan, as well as Anakin saying “Ahsoka” and “then you will die” with a very clear, obvious image of Anakin’s gold, scarred eye through his mask.
that would’ve loved you for a lifetime
#1: Ahsoka was prepared to be a Jedi forever, for a lifetime
#2: Rex, more in this case, but both he and Ahsoka did and would’ve loved the clones forever. those were Rex’s brothers and it’s so clear, especially with the scene of him crying in the hangar bay, that this is killing him
#3: Obi-Wan and Ahsoka would’ve loved Anakin for a lifetime—and I’d argue they did, despite everything (”you were my brother, Anakin! I loved you!” and “my Master could never be as vile as you” and “to the best of us”)
leave it all behind
#1: sorry if this is getting repetitive, but yeah, Ahsoka left everything, her entire life, everything and everyone she’s ever known behind
#2: Rex and Ahsoka leave everything on that moon, including her lightsabers that she just got back and then had to give up a second time
#3: Obi-Wan leaves everything behind and flees to Tatooine. Ahsoka tells Ezra this—to let Kanan go, essentially leave the past behind him. And she can’t “save her Master” either. she too must let him go.
tell me when did your winning smile / begin to look like a smirk?
this is just so Anakin slowly falling to madness and the Dark Side. Ahsoka and Obi-Wan thinking about the signs they’d missed, if there was some way they could’ve stopped it, if just one thing had been different, if they’d just noticed. trying to figure out where it all went wrong.
when did all our lessons start to look like weapons pointed at my deepest hurt?
#1: “the values of the Jedi are sacred to me”—and then she’s expelled and told that it was part of her great trial in becoming a Knight. a foundation of the Jedi Order and its process gets turned against her.
#3: this line becomes literal—Padawan lessons, sparring, suddenly became dueling Anakin to death, for both Obi-Wan and Ahsoka
no I didn’t mean that / sorry, I can’t see facts through all of my fury
#1: you could argue that Obi-Wan is right when he said Ahsoka let her feelings cloud her judgement in leaving; that she couldn’t see the facts through the pain of being betrayed by the Council. and then, when she comes back in the Siege of Mandalore, immediately, she and Obi-Wan start arguing, and then both of them are clouded by their feelings, both feeling hurt by the other and lashing out.
#3: again, this is just so Anakin turning to the Dark Side. he obviously doesn’t realize that he’s being blinded by fury (or maybe he does and just doesn’t care, or probably, thinks that is the only way). but he is. he’s completely blinded to logic, to reality by the fury that Sidious has spent years amping up and harvesting and Anakin himself has spent years bottling.
you haven’t met the new me yet
this line is really painful if you view it from Anakin’s perspective. they both believed he was dead, but no, turns out he’s a Sith Lord, in fact the Sith Lord that’s been the Emperor’s tool in causing immense pain and destruction across the galaxy. it’s this evil, excited little line from his POV (think that ROTS comic: “please say it’s Kenobi. Lord Vader gets such a thrill from killing people who care for him”)
there’ll be happiness after me / but there was happiness because of me / both of these things I believe
again, there’s that optimism, that desire to help people, to do good in the world, and this faith that Obi-Wan and Ahsoka both have. that’s why Obi-Wan helps Luke, that’s why Ahsoka joins the Rebellion. it’s all to ensure that there will be some happiness, some light after them (and maybe a little because of them. again, see the first chorus. they were happy once, and they both know it. “we’ll be fine, as long as we stay together.”)
there is happiness / in our history / across our great divide
I see this mostly as Ahsoka and Anakin (and Obi-Wan) during season 7. there’s still a connection, of course, love and happiness between them, despite the ending that’s right on their heels, as well as the great divide of Ahsoka leaving the Order.
there is a glorious sunrise / dappled with the flickers of light
Anakin does end up returning to the Light Side and his reunion with Obi-Wan is surely like a “glorious sunrise” that ended the darkness of the past twenty+ years. the second part I just see as a fun, literal line—flickers of light are lightsabers, blaster fire, the Light Side
I can’t make it go away by making you a villain
in short, Obi-Wan and Ahsoka can’t make the pain or the past happiness go away because Anakin’s now Vader. they still both remember Anakin fondly and with love, despite his fall. they loved him, still. in ROTS, when Anakin says “from my point of view, the Jedi are evil!” Obi-Wan doesn’t say “then you are evil,” or even “you are wrong,” he says “then you are lost.” lost. as in, can be found again. not evil, not unworthy, not wrong. just lost. there’s this goodness that Anakin has that he is ignoring and straying from (”there is good in him”). and in the context of Order 66, Ahsoka can’t and doesn’t make the clones villains because she knows they’re actually the victims. as much pain as it causes, they’re not the villains and she can’t act like they are.
so I know there’s a lot of discourse about Anakin apologists or whatever, so all I’ll say is that George Lucas has said that the prequels are to show how a “nice little kind kid, who has good intentions” turns into Darth Vader. the whole point of the PT is this line—while Anakin/Vader is no doubt the villain in the OT and in ROTS to a degree, that doesn’t make everything else go away. the other stuff doesn’t excuse what he did, all the pain he caused, but we can’t make it go away, just because he’s a villain. that’s one of the beauties of the prequels, that we get this extremely fleshed out, torn and struggling kid who ends up making all the wrong choices and becoming the terrible villain we see in the OT.
I guess it’s the price I pay for seven years in heaven
while none of these scenarios is seven years exactly, it does continue to drive the point of “all the years I’ve given is just shit we’re dividing up.” everything these characters had, individually and with each other, just gets utterly, completely ruined.
in a more meta-sense, the ending of The Clone Wars is the price we, the fans, pay for seven seasons of the show.
no one teaches you what to do / when a good man hurts you / and you know you hurt him too
this could point again to Ahsoka and Anakin, but also Ahsoka and Obi-Wan after she leaves the Order. when she comes back, none of them really know what to say, what to do, how to act around each other. this obviously comes out as arguments and words that are so close to what they really want to say, but just short. they’ve all been hurt and none of them know what to do about it.
and, of course, Obi-Wan and Anakin in ROTS. Obi-Wan doesn’t want to believe that Anakin’s fallen to the Dark Side, and later on Tatooine, knowing he’s hurt and been hurt by Anakin, doesn’t know what to do
after giving you the best I had / tell me what to give after that
again again, all the years they’ve given. all the love they had. everyone they knew & loved. gone.
leave it all behind / and there is happiness

The Post On How I Managed to Cram The Jedi and Sith Into Pokéverse
a ramble that is long overdue
In the beginning, there were always two halves of the Legendary of Balance, Equilipax: Ashla, the peaceful half, and Shokahn, the warlike half. They each sought to bring, well, balance to the tumultuous world of Dispara, Ashla through gentle and diplomatic methods and Shokahn through more, ahem…direct methods like fighting. Each recognized the need for the other, and for a time, they would work together against Arceus’ curse (though they didn’t know of a curse) to bring harmony to society.
Until the Burning of Mustafar, the event that tore this all down.
Mustafar in the Pokémon universe currently exists as a volcanic wasteland in the outskirts of Igneo, home of the hardiest Ignean Draconids, the one place that all other Igneans--as famously tough as they are--would be hard-pressed to enter. But it wasn’t always that way. As in Star Wars canon, Mustafar was once a flourishing forest oasis teeming with life, and in the Pokémon universe, I take this even further. This place, now called Ya’khahanu Narimama or Mother of the Chaos Flame by the Draconids, was not just a place of life--it was the place of life, containing the last stretch of original land on which all life in Dispara originated. But it could very easily have become the place where all life in Dispara ended as well as began. For the life energy there began to overflow, upsetting the sacred balance between life and death in the world…
Narimama had been Ashla’s favorite place in Dispara, a land that she treated as though it were her own child. She knew that destroying the land was an option, but she couldn’t bear the thought of losing what she held most dear--and so she sought other methods to heal the suffering land. However, as she tried and tried in vain to heal it, Shokahn grew impatient with Ashla’s methods. Eventually, tired of waiting and believing Dispara on the brink of an irreversible crisis of excess life energy, Shokahn destroyed Narimama entirely. In doing so, he wiped out its ecosystem and its many unique species, and turned it into the volcanic wastes that it is today.
Ashla cried out, bereaved and enraged--the first time she had ever felt emotions that strongly in her entire existence. Shokahn retaliated, saying it was necessary to maintain the balance that they’d fought so hard for. He even taunted her, saying that she had advised so many people to let go their attachments in order to build better futures, yet she failed to let go her own attachment to the land that was about to destroy the entirety of Dispara. Finding this slight too hard to let go, however, Ashla created a race of godly dragons known as the Jedi to fight for Mustafar’s restoration. Shokahn, not wanting to be outdone, magically corrupted some of these dragons to create the Sith. From then on, Equilipax would not be one dragon with two Aspects of its personality, but rather two severed, warring Aspects who each became their own independent personalities.
Thus did Dispara fall further into the curse. They had been partially shielded from it in the past thanks to Equilipax’s efforts--but with the two halves now at war, Dispara’s peoples were left at Arceus’ mercy.
The followers of these two halves of Equilipax believe their gods wholeheartedly. Ashla’s followers, known as the Dai Bendi (Dai Bendu singular), believe that Mustafar should never have burned and that there are still ways to transform it now. Shokahn’s followers, known as the Jensaarai (who are more morally grey rather than evil just like the Pokéverse Sith), believe that the destruction was necessary and Ashla is just throwing a fit over nothing. The Dai Bendi and the Jedi are very strict about who gets initiated into their order, asking them to go through trials proving their ethical worth. The Jensaarai and the Sith don’t care who they teach, refusing only those who threaten harm on dragons--but they go at one pace and one pace only and anyone who can’t keep up gets destroyed. And while it’s true that the Jensaarai path is more dangerous, which causes people to become consumed by their emotions, Ashla can be just as dangerous for the unwary--as too much of her causes people to lose their emotions entirely. The only thing they shared in common now was The Force, which was their religions’ name for the source of their power.
Who is right here? It’s impossible to say. All that’s known for certain is that Anakin Skywalker, the Herald of Equilipax and the strongest Force user of all time, is prophesied to be the one to patch up this mess, but so far he’s doing a shit job. He’s supposed to make Equilipax whole again and restore true balance to Dispara. But right now he can’t see past his frustration with Ashla and her followers and is trying to pigheadedly get them to accept that Shokahn was right without even considering alternate arguments. Is this man ever going to learn and fulfill his destiny? Maybe sometime in the far-flung future, but certainly not now…

update
okay so i know i've been gone a while, frankly i don't use this account anymore. when my account was at it's peak, it was just fun vibes and i really do miss it but honestly when my atla hyperfixation died down, so did this account. however, i do have some sorta good news and bad news regarding a certain fic of mine that i haven't updated in a year and a half after the first chapter (*ahem* genuine life and it's her)
bad news? i'll be deleting the fic
good news? it's because i want to revise it and fully fledge it out
these past few months i've been really wanting to do something with it since i know there were some people who really liked it but every time i would reread the first chapter i would just cringe and it's not because i thought it was the worst thing on earth (bc at one point i was satisfied enough with it to fully publish it to the public) but because it's just so blatant i had no idea what to do with the story and every time i would write i just had no idea.
so? my solution. i'm gonna restart it. i'll delete the original fic only when i have the first two chapters of the revised fic fully completed along with an outline completing the story. this way, i know what's going to happen, i can work on foreshadowing and arcs, and i'll at least have a second chapter available in case i take forever to write the third one.
i really did want to complete this fic however back in january of last year (when it was published) some personal stuff happened a bit afterwards which just put me down in a hole where i had trouble writing ideas and just even loving what i used to love (hence, the hyperfixation dying down) and then it's hard to write if you don't have the same passion you once had but now i don't have the same passion i did for avatar the last airbender HOWEVER i do have the same passion for completing this fic because the few lot that actually really loved this fic, i still think about to this day and i really do wanna complete something.
anyways, i'll give a heads up and keep everyone updated on this blog about what's happening but i just wanted to post this about what to expect and all
love you all,
ashla <3

super important question: does ashla survive order 66? because of her visions, i'm guessing "yes" but if the answer is no i WILL start crying
in a perfect universe order 66 never goes down b/c ashla ripped sidious to pieces with Anakin and obi wan's help
but it's more likely she'll either die trying to take sidious down or go into hiding with her husband
which wouldn't really be hiding since her husband is mandalore. she just wouldn't make a lot of public appearances w/o armor on.
and Anakin never fell, but maybe he actually died b/c he never sided with palps
I'm typing this one handed with a sandwich in the other so sorry if this isn't as in depth lol

Imagine after returning to Yavin IV post liberation of Lothal, Hera vents out a bit to the ex- ISB agent Kallus.
Fandom: Star Wars Rebels
Words: 921
Tumblr media
Most people say the golden hour of any sun is the most beautiful time of the day. Hera Syndulla might have agreed before, but now, she hated it, it only brought her painful memories.
The sun was setting on Yavin IV, giving the Ghost an almost magical shine while it was slowing down to land on the Rebel base. Hera parked the Ghost silently, opening the ramp to who wanted to leave. She heard faint but heavy steps exit the ship, definitely belonging to the purple Lasat. She can't really blame him, it was an eventful day, no wonder he wanted to vent at the borders, away from any noise.
The Mandalorian spectre has been in her cabin ever since they jumped into hyperspace, and apparently, she's not planning to leave any time soon. Chopper powered off to charge a while ago, leaving Hera in the silent cockpit, haunted by her thoughts.
Alexsandr Kallus hasn't been with the Ghost crew for long, all he ever knew of them was how they were ruthless rebel killers back in his empire days, but it turns out, they were none of what he believed back then. The crew of the ghost are a found family that cared deeply for each other more than he ever had in mind. A family he wished to have.
Kallus wandered around the VCX's hallway, not having a specific destination in mind, he let his feet carry him to wherever they wanted. Eventually, his feet led him to the cockpit where he found the pilot slumped in her seat while sniffling quietly.
Hera almost jumped out of her chair when she heard the cockpit's door open, quickly wiping her tears away and looking back at the intruder, she found Kallus standing there silently. She sighed and turned her head to the windshield, fantasizing the marvelous jungle of Yavin that surrounded the base.
Kallus walked slowly and sat with a huff on the co-pilot seat. If Hera had to guess, he must be on the verge of collapsing after this day, Adrenaline solely keeping him upright.
He looked shyly at Hera and spoke with a quiet sorrowful voice "I'm sorry for what happened today Hera, i couldn't stop anything from happening", Hera gave away a small smile at his apology, "You couldn't have stopped any of this from happening, it's the will of the force, I'm glad you made it out in one piece" she said sadly.
Kallus chuckled a little at her last comment, "The Force have always been a mystery to me, since the war on Lasan, when some lasats called it the Ashla" he replied.
Hera smiled but the smile never reached her eyes, she responded "from what Kanan told me, the force is an energy that binds all living things together. Some people have more sensitivity to it than others, due to something in their cells Kanan mentioned before, but I kind of forgot... Midichlorians? Maybe.. Anyways, these Midichlorians varied in number from a force sensitive to another, therefore some jedi and sith have been more powerful than others. Most of us normal people have about 2-100 Midichlorians in each cell, hence why we're not attuned to the force. But Kanan and Ezra, they had more than that, ranging in the thousands. The force will always be mysterious in how it works, even the jedi couldn't describe it"
Kallus sat there dumbstruck, overwhelmed by all this new information he never heard of before, his mouth slightly open and eyes wide. Hera chuckled slightly at his reaction, but went back to the sad look.
"I.. Can't describe how I'm currently feeling, but this is incredible, it must've been crazy for you to live with 2 force sensitives" Kallus let his last words slip before realising what they meant, he hurriedly tried to mend the situation "Hera,.. I'm sorry.. I didn't mean to.. Ugh.. I'm..", Hera lifted a hand to stop his rambling, a slight smile on her lips while her while her eyes are on the verge of tears "Yes, it was crazy, but i would want to have them living with me more than anything. I just... I miss them so much.. I.. I just lost Kanan and before I could grieve, I lost Ezra too. I never thought I would lose them both so fast. And I feel like this is my fault, I mean Kanan came to save ME and died.. I'm sorry" Hera said shakily and tears started to cascade down her face.
Kallus would have never thought he'd be one of the few people to see the General's vulnerable side. In his imperial days, he wouldn't think her crew meant this much to her, oh how wrong was he. They're literally a family, torn apart too soon, because of the empire. He despised himself knowing he was a part of this murderous dictatorship that holds the Galaxy in a vice like grip, crushing hopes and families for power. What an abomination.
Kallus put a comforting hand on Hera's shoulder and said caringly "none of this is your fault Hera, this, is the Empire's fault, and they will pay for it. I feel disgusted that I was part of this abomination".
Hera looked up from the floor to meet Kallus's eyes, and smiled, "I'm glad you're in the rebellion, we'll make the empire pay for this suffering. You're a good man Kallus, that's why you left, don't sell yourself short" she replied quietly.
Kallus returned the smile and whispered "We'll make them pay".
