Midway through the Judo World Championships, an Iranian female judo fighter and her coach receive an ultimatum from the Islamic Republic ordering her to fake an injury and lose, lest she be branded a traitor of the state.

Very tense sports drama in the form of a political thriller that's a gripping watch.

The black and white visuals and the tight, indoor setting add to the tension.

The two directors were also able to stage some very realistic looking fight scenes. And it has two great lead performances at its centre.

Side note, not entirely surprising, there's a real story behind the film.

Carmen: My unending existence is fuelled by pure spite, that of which the painful experiences of life have rendered me full.

Jedi: *Sighs* Let me call your therapist again.

Gwen: Without ugly, there would be no beauty in this world.

Ash: Thank you for your sacrifice, Robbie.

Lexi: Question. When they shot Bambi's mother, did you find that a sad moment...at all?

Carmen: I'm sure she's mounted on a nice wall in a fine home somewhere.

Maddie: Oh god, she texted you ‘hi.’’ punctuation only means one thing, Lexi. She's mad at you.

Lexi: No, it's Noelle. She's just being gramatically correct!

*meanwhile*

Noelle: And then I used a period so she'd know that I'm mad at her.

Robbie: A period doesn't say 'I'm mad', it says 'you're dead to me'.

Noelle: I stand by my choice.

Ash: God is no longer with us, I’ll take over.

Robbie: Think you can answer some questions without the usual level of sarcasm?

Rose: If you can ask the questions without the usual level of stupid.

Ash: *Pulls a glass a water from out of nowhere*

Noelle: Where did you get that?

Ash: My pocket.

Still, there were other people who knew more and he was always willing to learn something new. “That’s what makes all the difference, huh?” He nodded slowly. “February, yeah,” he said. “So is that a bracelet or just something to put around the house?

"All the ones I mentioned are, but we have advanced books on the shelf as well." Ash explained, although reading material wasn't their specialty. As he mentioned tarot decks being gifts, she smiled. "Yeah, that's true. I personally think it all comes down to intention when you're doing magic, but different witches have different philosophies." Ash shrugged, then nodded at the mention of quartz and amethyst - which came from quartz. "Does she have a February birthday? Or does she just like amethyst? Either way - if she has that already, hematite is another good one. It's used for protection."
