I want to read a LCF x Assassination Classroom crossover only for the sake of seeing OG!Cale interact with the principal.
They would fight and OG!Cale would win because he's such a little shit and fears exactly one thing— and manipulative assholes aren't that.
Principal Asano (whatever his name was) would have an aneurism trying and failing to intimidate him.
This brat (because any version of OG!Cale would kick his ass, but teenager!OG!Cale would be funnier) not only isn't affected by his bloodlust (he grew up around Ron, that was rather pathetic), he can see through his manipulations and plotting as if he was reading a book— an easy one, at that—, and had been going in circles around him since he entered through the door!
What is worst, he has been switching back and forth between almost calling him out and playing dumb since he tried to use one of his usual tactics with him. He's laughing at him inside— he knows it.
He ends up giving Asano a nervous tick.
So, AU where teenager Og!Cale transmigrates to AssClass world— maybe he appears near Karasuma's colleagues so he has to deal with him (because whatever God that delivered him knows that kid needs a responsible adult around)— and proceeds to take it really well. Can't say the same about some people (cofcof Asano cofcof) who fucked around him and now find out.
Meanwhile, Karasuma is very busy with his job, the supersonic octopus, getting his teaching license, and the strange kid with self-esteem issues that crossed worlds— who's now living with him.
Curiously, helping Cale to accommodate to a whole different world and society is the less difficult task out of all of them. The hardest part so far was explaining him why his happiness and reputation isn't a "good price to pay" for someone else's wellbeing.
(Although the talk about "why exposing yourself to any nocive substance was a bad idea even if you have a great tolerance or immunity to them, and therefore, is forbidden" had been a close one. Seriously, why does he knows how poisoned food tastes like?)

My opinion of Hachi's love struggle from personal experience.
Tumblr media
To start with, this is my own interpretation, if anyone has other interpretations of the manga and Hachi's character that's totally fine! I've just been thinking on the manga more and more since i read it fully and i genuinely feel Hachi is a lesbian who suffers with feelings of comphet and idealisation of a 'normal romance' which she tries to pursue during the series.
To start with her relationship with Asano started from her being shown attention from someone who is much older and is clearly just grooming her for his own desires. Her first love being with Asano also screwed her idea of what a romance should be like. Getting mistreated, ignored and kept a secret like she's someone to be ashamed of which leads into how she approaches all of her romances from then on. For Hachi as long as they love her, even if it's not in the way she wants she starts to believe she loves them.
Her relationship with Shouji had her initially jumping to some feelings on her first meeting but deciding ultimately to try and just be friends with him bond with another guy 'without ulterior motives' and just become friends. However as we know Shouji liked her and everyone around her started to pressure her into getting into the romance with him. Especially around the fact Shouji started it through guilt tripping her for sex. Nana cared for Shouji, she didn't 'love him' which explains how she treats him. She likes having a boyfriend because she likes being loved. She gets really uncomfortable with the way he kinda mainly uses her for sex than actually showing romantic feelings towards her herself. Like the main thing she did to make him feel justified in cheating with her is the fact that she didn't want to just sleep with him over and over when he wanted. Shouji just wanted her to be his 'pet dog' and got upset the moment Hachi started making her own friends outside of him and Jun. Overall Hachi's 'love' for Shouji is just a dependence on the first somewhat normal guy who loved her, especially when Jun her only real friend left to Tokyo her 'love' for Shouji was the main thing keeping her going. For someone like Hachi she needs love to feel like life is worth living, she has no goals outside of marrying someone and having children, this is in part due to how society views women but also she never really had stable relationships or friendships growing up.
I find it really interesting to note that Hachi never had feelings for Nobu until Nana started bringing it up and Nobu himself starting to try and confess and show he loves her. She again falls in a cycle like she did with Shouji, the big difference being that Nobu is a genuinely nice guy as a whole and for Hachi it's hard to really justify that she doesn't have romantic feelings for him, that and she clearly is attached to Nobu as a friend, they're similar in ways. However Hachi has never had a male friend who hasn't suddenly decided they loved her and wanted to sleep with her. For Hachi she thinks the moment she turns him down he'll abandon her. We know this isn't true given Nobu and Hachi clearly made up in the timeskip and started getting along better in the last few chapters of the manga. However basically everyone in Hachi's life seems to leave her behind or infantilize her and tries to control her. Hachi's emotions are always in control of someone else, the only action she had complete control over was choosing to keep her baby regardless of what is best for anyone else. A big part of her character is the fact that she wants a normal family. Now onto her love for Takumi. A big thing a lot of lesbians tend to latch onto with guys they love, is usually they're some sort of ideal they usually can't attain. And because of this they somewhat feel fictional and out of reach and therefor someone they can focus all of their affection onto often in a way of trying to prove to themselves they like men. Hachi never really initially plans to fall for Takumi, it's just a love and affection she doesn't put much weight onto. However when she meets Takumi in person for the first time, she just found out Nana and Ren are dating. In Hachi's pov any feelings she has for Nana are an 'unrequited love' but she can't deal with Nana getting further and further away from her. Takumi being in the same circle that Nana and Blast are ending up in is a way of her forceably tying herself into the same circle. Hachi herself knows it's wrong and that it won't turn out well but can't help herself because she assume everyone is leaving her behind. She tries to leave him until the pregnancy happens but he is realistically the only one who could support her financially through the situation. She convinces herself over and over throughout the story that staying with Takumi is the only thing she can possibly do once she found herself in the situation.
I honestly believe the first person Hachi truly loved on her own terms was Nana. It's stated often throughout the text how, how she felt with Nana was 'like the bliss of a first love' and how soothing and relaxed she feels around her. Hachi has clear struggles in accepting her feelings towards Nana due to her own misconceptions that what she wants and needs to be happy is falling in love with a man, getting married and having children. In fact it's clear she recognises her feelings for Nana but in her mind Nana loves Ren and any love she feels for Nana won't be reciprocated. It's because of this that she starts sleeping with Takumi to begin with. She feels an immense sense of isolation and fear around her feelings with Nana. It's because of this that she bases her entire worth around who loves her rather than who she actually loves on her own terms. Many lesbians struggle with comphet around their feelings because society makes women feel that romance which don't revolve around a man or having children. Hachi's obsessive need for love traps her and makes her be unable to be happy and free, unlike how she initially assumes love would make her feel. I personally believe if the series continued Hachi would figure out how she feels around Takumi and Nobu and then her feelings around Nana by the end of it.

Despite creating this account to complain about TROTSH, I want to talk about other pieces of media that I have an issue with.
Case and point, Assassination Classroom:
I absolutely hate the fanon Asanos !!!
TW: MENTIONS OF CHILD ABUSE/ SUICIDE/ SUICIDAL THOUGHTS/ SELF HARM
They way the fandom sees and portrays Gakushuu and Gakuho is not only completely wrong but also pretty disgusting and disturbing.
Gakushuu suffers from what I call "The Draco Malfoy Effect", basically a character who isn't exactly the nicest, this character may have done some pretty bad things and most of the time they are villians/antagonists.
Gakushuu along with his father act as antagonists within the story and will do anything to achieve their goals. Both want to keep class E at the bottom of the school hierarchy and are obsessed with winning and maintaining the status quo.
Despite this Gakushuu has shown to be different from his father. Unlike Gakuho who will go to the extremes in order to achieve victory Gakushuu has lines he won't cross.
He refuses to poison the food class E has prepared and even calls the principal out on it, despite losing at the sports tournament he recognises that he and the others tried their best and doesn't let that one failure get to him and most importantly: he comes to the realisation that his father is bat-shit crazy and makes it his mission to destroy his philosophy.
In the end he swallows his pride and asks class E to "assassinate" his father's philosophy and is pleased to see that they succeeded. He stands up to Gakuho in frond of the whole class and isn't too bothered when he gets hit because this shows that his father's hold on the school is starting to crumble.
All of his personality gets stripped away from him the moment the fandom gets involved. People boil down Gakushuu's character to an uwu, sad and depressed boy who wants to kill himself because daddy is mean to him. They portray him as this omega male who needs his alpha bad boy boyfriend to save him because he is incapable of doing it himself.
Seriously, go to AO3 and search on the Gakushuu Asano tag and you"ll see what I am talking about. 90% of his fanfics are about Gakushuu being suicidal, harming himself, attempting suicide, committing suicide and just being sad.
What disgusts me the most is the way the authors handle such sensitive topics. They make Gakushuu go through all this pain just so that Karma can comfort and sweep him off his feet . In other words, they use suicide and self harm to push a ship wich is very gross. They also write Gakushuu committing suicide as a way for him to get back at his father, as if people in real life kill themselves because they want to piss off or traumatize people. Absolutely disgusting!
Gakuho's portrayal isn't any better.
At best he is seen as a neglectful father who doesn't care about his son and at worst people portray him as this evil man who hates his own child and beats him on the daily and only cares about himself.
I seriously don't understand why people think Gakuho hates his son because this isn't true.
The reason why Gakuho is so strict with his students and especially with Gakushuu is because he doesn't want any of them to end up dead like Ikeda.
The whole reason he built the school and created such an antagonistic and hostile environment is that so his students and son will grow strong at a young age and won't have to suffer like Ikeda did.
Does this excuse his actions? Absolutely not!! Despite being traumatised by his students death, Gakuho has taken things too far and has created a system that expects nothing but perfection and the students in that system are pitted against eachother for the top.
Long story short, Gakuho is not a good person and has done some horrible things, but he isn't pure evil. He doesn't beat up his son and doesn't hate him, if anything he loves Gakushuu too much (it is canon that once you make him talk about his son he won't shut up about how great his boy is) and wants to make sure he doesn't repeat the same mistakes he made with Ikeda.
In conclusion, both Gakushuu and Gakuho are complicated characters with complicated emotions who the fandom boils down to a stereotype because they lack media literacy and it pisses me off!

All of Bridgets outfits (I can find)
Tumblr media
(Bridgets original design from XX) -Daisuke Ishiwatari
Eh, It's popular for a reason, but it's not really one of my favourites.
Tumblr media
(Bridget's default outfit from Strive) -Hidehiko Sakamura / Asano Kenta (Not sure)
I love the beige shirt and more lighter greyish blue for the jacket, it helps increase the pallet variety that GG suffered from. (Ky, Sin, Justice, Millia, Robo Ky etc all have blues and whites) Also love how poofy it is.
Tumblr media
(Bridgets Pop-up Shop 2022 outfit) -Hidehiko Sakamura / Asano Kenta (Also not sure)
I need more outfits with glasses, also I like that this outfit hides the neck and chest area, like her Strive look, it could be unintentional but it implies that Bridget has dysphoria around those places(edit: it is intentinonal, im stupid).
Tumblr media
(Bridgets XX outfit with a pirate hat)
It's super cute, yeah its just a different hat but fuck you I like it too much okay :3
Tumblr media
(Bridgets XX mission illustration outfit) -Daisuke Ishiwatari
It's one of her few simple outfits (Other than the Pop-up shop one) and I really like it, I tend to really like simple-ish outfits and more casual clothing. It's also really fun seeing characters with intricate outfits were something more normal.
Tumblr media
(Bridget XX slash mission illustration outfit)
BRIDGET FUCKING HUNG ROGER, and with that out of the way. It's alright, I dont really have much to say about the outfit really.
Tumblr media
(Bridget XXAC special illustration)
I really love how the hat and scarf work to mimic the nun habit, though I wish we got to see the front of it.
Tumblr media
(Bridget XXAC Mission Illustration) -Hiroko Ogawa
This basically looks like a winter version of her normal XX look, but I prefer this one, the sleeves and thigh highs makes this outfit look more cozy. It's probably my favourite of her outfits.
Tumblr media
(Bridgets XXAC+ Swimsuit)
You cant even see the whole thing, what else do I say about it? I just thought I'd mention it cause it's a different outfit.
Tumblr media
(Bridget Vastedge outfit)
Im pretty sure the Pink and Blue neon colours are meant to be yellow or gold, but I cant be bothered to change it to normal, (It's this or the crusty animations of her attacks I found) I probably prefer this over her XX outfit.
And thats all the ones I can find, I may or may not do this with other skrunglies from Guilty Gear.
Also help correct me if I got any of the artists wrong. And please let me know who some of the artists I dont know are.
I really did try to find who drew these pieces, but its mostly not written anywhere.

beach date ~ 🍅💯
🦋 category: one-shot
🦋 characters: karma, asano, mentions of asano's father
🦋 summary: a small and fun beach date was suddenly flipped upside down as asano suddenly passed out for seemingly no reason
🦋 warnings: heat stroke? bad parenting from asano's dad
🦋 notes: i accidentally deleted the ask from the requester omg i am so stupid istg... but i remembered their user (i hope) @project-neo thanks for requesting !
it was a request where asano, karma and reader were out at the beach and asano suffered from a heat stroke, due to his shitty father
there's a little part inspired by the manga where asano and his dad talk about suing each other that I decided to include in here bc I thought that it would be funny. I actually don’t remember if that scene was animated or not lol
Tumblr media
The blazing hot sun did you no favour. Every step felt like walking on lava. Karma was behind you, laughing at your struggles, as if his hair wasn’t dripping with sweat this very moment. Asano walked behind the both of you, maintaining a distance he always had, fearing that he would be seen one day. He seemed to be embarrassed by the sight that had welcomed his eyes.
He was beginning to question why you had to plan a beach day. In such hot weather no less. It was psychotic of you. Asano was beginning to see that he seemed to have a type. He wondered why he even decided to go on this trip, he must have had a screw loose in his brain.
The sun had provided extra glare on the sea, the water surface reflecting off the light from the sun. Karma seemed to be well prepared for the day, which was obvious as he was the one who had planned it. You just joined because you had nothing else better to do. Asano joined because of your relentless talk about wanting a triple date. He could only give in to your charms.
The summer seemed to be the perfect time to visit the beach. The blazing sun shone the areas around the three of you as you all looked for the perfect spot to lay down beside each other, though Asano would prefer to keep his distance from the two of you, due to his fear of being caught. He had no idea as to why he was even involved with the both of you, it was something that just… happened. But he didn’t stop it either, Asano just chose to let the relationship continue. Whether it was a decision he regretted remains to be seen.
“Karma!” You shouted, “I found a spot!” Your arms waved enthusiastically, signalling for the boys to come over. Karma looked over and smiled, seemingly satisfied with the spot you had found.
“Not bad,” Karma replied as he placed his items before helping you to arrange yours neatly on the sandy ground.
Asano just followed, not wanting to argue as he had a bad headache. Perhaps it was due to him not being able to get enough sleep and thus not at his best. But he still decided to follow them on this date, for some unknown reason. Asano was beginning to think that he had broken his brain at long last, after his constant studying. There was something wrong with him, wasn’t there?
The sun continued to bake the ground and the sand they were sitting on, the shade doing little to lower down the temperature, though it was still better than being out in the open. Karma was getting restless, it was not a part of his plan to just sit around and let the sand be blown into their eyes. He wanted fun, his type of fun.
It was not a date with Karma if everything went smoothly without pranks.
“Y/n!” Karma chanted happily, with a wide grin plastered onto his face. You looked at him, confused but on high alert, one can never have their guard down around him. Even Asano had his guard up even though it was not his name that left Karma’s mouth.
One can never be so sure of their safety.
“What is it Karma?” You asked, ready to defend yourself. That only egged Karma on more as he inched closer, his hands hiding behind his back. You knew this could never be anything good.
  He was Akabane Karma.
“Karma,” Asano began softly as he rested on the sand below him. “Can we have a normal date for once?” Asano seemed to be awfully tired and had his eyes shut despite being underneath the shade you had found. You just assumed that he was tired from studying all night.
You nodded in agreement, “Asano is right! We need a break, you know!”
Karma laughed in response, “Wouldn’t that be such a killjoy?”
You looked at his arms, tilting your head so that you could see what he was hiding. “A crab! You’re holding a crab!” You decided to guess. It was a wild one with no evidence but it was also the one that had made the most sense to you.
“Come on!” Karma continued, “We’re out here to have fun, aren’t we?”
You did not know how to respond to that, because technically, Karma was right. You were all out here to simply have fun. Though you were not interested in Karma’s idea of fun. It seemed more like hell to you.
“I'd rather die than enjoy the ‘fun’ you have for us,” Asano replied. It was like he had read your mind and said the exact words you wanted to come out of your own mouth.
Unfortunately, Asano’s words seemed to have little effect on Karma. It seemed as though nothing would have him under control. He was a wild animal it seems. You often wondered just how you got into this mess to begin with…
Karma still kept his hands out of view, which only solidified your thoughts further. It had to be a crab, there was no other explanation. What else could he take from a beach? Surely Karma would not take a jellyfish right?
And you would be right to think that it was a crab. Karma suddenly threw it at you, catching you completely off guard. You let out a loud screech before crawling over to Asano. All Asano did was to glance between the both of you, “Do I have to remind you guys your ages?” He said before laying down. His head was hurting badly and he needed that rest. It was just a headache, it will go away, right?
“Asano!” You began. “You’re sweating so much even under the shade! The weather really can’t be that hot!” You laughed.
Asano’s body seemed to be sweating a crazy amount, more than Karma even. Asano merely brushed your comments aside and ignored it, acting like all was normal with him. Though he could feel that there was something wrong.
  Something wrong with his body
Karma, however, frowned and sensed that something was slightly… amiss. He squinted his eyes at Asano, who glared back. Karma was examining his dearest rival and lover, only to get a glare back, how kind of Asano. “Are you sure you are alright?” Karma asked.
Asano could only nod in frustration, “Do you guysss think… I am a small child?” He snapped, his words sounding slightly slurred and dragged on.
“How else are we supposed to treat you?” You joked, not sensing that there seemed to be something wrong.
“I don’t knoww,” Asano replied, his speech still dragged on as his head was hurting him more. “I’m goingggg to get sssomething.”
Asano tried to stand, but his legs seemed to give up on him. His hands reached for a tree as you stood up and rushed towards him, finally realising that something might just be a little bit wrong. Asano tried to tell you that he would be fine but he could not even stand properly.
“I- amm finee,” He said. His speech was sounding even more slurred than previously. He could not even speak like a normal person. Something was definitely wrong and you should have realised it sooner,
The gravity of the situation only fully fell upon you when Asano completely collapsed in your arms, going limp. Karma rushed towards the both of you and touched Asano. The both of you felt his bare skin. It was weirdly hot. Something seemed to be wrong.
“Heatstroke,” Karma quickly deduced. “I’ll carry him to the male’s, you call an ambulance.”
You nodded and handed Asano to Karma as quickly as you could. Next, you looked through your bag and took out your phone, dialling for the ambulance. You wondered if you should let Asano’s family know about it. They were a family… but they don’t know about you and Karma, for obvious reasons. You decided to play it safe and not call them. You will let Asano decide if he wants to call them when he wakes up.
Karma went to splash cool water on Asano using the showers while you called the ambulance. It did not take long for them to arrive and take Asano with them, though only one of you could follow Asano in the ambulance as there was limited space. Karma let you follow Asano while he took public transport. The paramedics assured you that Asano was not in any critical danger and that you guys had Karma to thank for his quick thinking.
Karma had always been smart, of course he would realise what was happening and immediately follow up with the solution to ensure that things would go smoothly. That was one of the reasons why you were drawn to him. He was just full of the unexpected and there would never be a second of boredom spent with him around.
The drive to the hospital was a mere ten minutes, yet it felt like the ride was longer than you had been alive. Your gaze was stuck on the unconscious Asano, your hands held tightly to his, hoping that he would awake and tell you that this was all just a huge, elaborate prank by him and Karma, though it was unlikely. Asano would never work with Karma for a prank. That wouldn’t be Asano anymore.
You followed the paramedics as they rushed Asano into the hospital, into a room, until you were not allowed to follow them anymore. You texted Karma your location, hoping that he would join you soon. Karma took a while to arrive but you were glad that he did. The both of you sat in silence, your lovely beach date ending just like that. You two still had to figure out the reason behind Asano’s heatstroke as well.
Why was he severely dehydrated? Why was he severely dehydrated? It didn’t seem to make any sense that Asano would just not drink water, there had to be something more behind it. Asano was not the kind that would just risk himself like that. Karma shared the same thoughts as you as well. The both of you decided to approach Asano about the topic in the best way the both of you could, without pushing him away.
“We should just ask him,” Karma suggested, “Like a casual conversation. Talk about it like its some normal thing.”
“And how do you even go about that?” You asked, “How do we even phrase it?”
Karma paused as he thought about it. His gaze fixed on the wall in front of him as he tried to figure out ways to your dilemma. Asano was still not a very open person despite being with the both of you. It takes a lot, trying to enter his world that he had kept closed to many around him. You were just scared that he would not be truthful.
“We can just say ‘why did you faint? What did the doctors say?’,” Karma suggested.
You nodded in agreement as the doctors exited and approached the both of you to inform you two that Asano was alright, he just had a heatstroke and that he had been transferred to a room for further observation, but he should be fine to leave in a few hours. The doctors even thanked Karma for his quick thinking, otherwise who knew what might have become of Asano Gakushuu.
The both of you thanked the doctors before heading off to find Asano to check up on him. There he laid on the hospital bed, looking the same as ever. His face facing out the window. His eyes glancing at the scenery.
“Asano,” You chanted with a huge smile on your face as you slowly approached him.
“The doctors said I got a heat stroke right?” He asked.
You paused as your mind scrambled about to find the right words to respond, but Karma managed to beat you to it.
“So straightforward!” Karma laughed, “How did it happen to you?” He asked in the most inappropriate, unserious tone you had ever heard from Karma. He had just gone against the plan!
Asano sighed as he turned to face the both of you, “You know… my father.”
Karma laughed once more, you shot him an unimpressed look while Asano looked as annoyed as ever. “A man can’t just cause heat stroke, you know,” Karma replied.
Asano rolled his eyes, “My father did not allow me to drink anything if I could not pass the papers he made me to! I can’t drink a single glass if I don’t meet his expectations.”
  Oh…
You did not know how to respond to that. It was not what you were expecting to hear. You knew Asano had problems with his father but you never knew it would be this bad. That man should not be a father.
“Sounds like a good lawsuit, child negligence. Don’t you think so?” Karma responded, saying the last thing you expected to hear in a situation like the one you were in right now.
You stared at him with the most judgmental face you could show while Asano actually seemed amused by what Karma had said.
“Now that,” Asano replied. “Is a good idea, I wonder how much I can make from this.”
You frowned at the both of them, absolutely bewildered at what had just happened, at what you had just heard. It was more than crazy. Have they gone insane?
“Y/n,” said Asano, “You seem scared.”
“Yeah,” You replied, “At how crazy the both of you are.”
Asano and Karma laughed like it was just a silly joke. You just kept your judgemental face and looked at them. Why were you even involved with them was anyone’s guess.
The hours ticked by and soon, Asano was allowed to return to his home. He was already getting tired of the hospital bed and the food was not suitable to his taste, he had asked you to grab some food for him. He was lucky that he only stayed a few hours, you had thought about making him and Karma stay longer due to how crazy they have been.
You and Karma had to ensure that Asano made it home safely, not that you were complaining. It was the funniest and weirdest date you have ever been on with those two. After telling Asano to drink more water, and Karma telling him to drink from the toilet if he had to, the both of you made your way home.
Things with the both of them can just be so crazy sometimes.

Shōgun: A Historical Masterpiece.
Set in Japan in the year 1600, Lord Yoshii Toranaga is fighting for his life as his enemies on the Council of Regents unite against him, when a mysterious European ship is found marooned in a nearby fishing village.
Tumblr media
Based upon the acclaimed novel, Shōgun is a historical retelling of Lord Tokugawa Ieyasu's (Yoshi Toranaga) establishing the Tokugawa Shōgunate in early 17th Century Japan from the point of view of an English Pilot named, William Adams (John Blackthorn)Premiering on the small screen in 1980, the series received mass critical acclaim and earned an Emmy for Outstanding Limited Series. Four decades later, it returns, breathing new life into the television with its unparalleled storytelling. Breaking away from the mediocrity that often plagues the streaming industry, Shōgun stands as a monumental historical epic of a real-life struggle over the throne for Japan.
Shōgun unfolds like a meticulously played game of Shogi, where every move, character, and line of dialogue is infused with purpose and significance. This captivating narrative takes viewers on a journey through a power struggle that shapes feudal Japan, weaving together political intrigue and human drama in a rich tapestry of storytelling. From the intricacies of Japanese society to the cunning maneuvers of rival warlords, Shōgun immerses audiences in a world where every scene serves a distinct purpose. Each twist and turn of the plot is carefully crafted, drawing viewers deeper into the heart of the conflict and revealing the complex web of alliances and betrayals that define the era. The dialogue and monologues in Shōgun are masterfully written, brimming with both context and subtext that add layers of depth to the narrative. Like beautiful lines of poetry, they flow seamlessly together, driving the story forward with precision and purpose. At its core, Shōgun captures the essence of one of the most pivotal moments in Japanese history, offering a compelling exploration of power, ambition, and the human spirit. As viewers are drawn into this world of political conspiracy and personal sacrifice, they are treated to a mesmerizing blend of drama, suspense, and historical authenticity that commands the screen from start to finish.
Tumblr media
Shōgun derives its true essence from its characters, each intricately woven with layers of complexity and depth, enriching the overarching drama. Among them, Cosmo Jarvis's portrayal of John Blackthorn emerges as a standout performance, deftly navigating the challenges of embodying a character whose natural loudness and clumsiness contrast sharply with the subtleties of his Japanese counterparts. While some may initially interpret Blackthorn's demeanor as a flaw in the performance, Jarvis's deliberate portrayal serves a greater purpose—to underscore the cultural abyss between him and the people of Japan. Through his portrayal, Jarvis adeptly captures the profound culture shock experienced by his character, allowing viewers to witness a compelling transformation from a brash and ambitious Englishman to a man deeply immersed in Japanese customs. It is in these quieter moments that Jarvis truly shines, infusing his character with depth and nuance.
Similarly, Anna Sawai's portrayal of Toda Mariko exemplifies the art of subtle acting. With a mere glance, Sawai effortlessly conveys a myriad of emotions, her thousand-yard stare speaking volumes about her character's inner turmoil and quiet resilience. Her performance is a testament to the power of restraint, as she deftly navigates Mariko's journey of suffering and hope, her emotions simmering beneath the surface until they erupt with raw intensity. Even in moments of despair, Sawai's portrayal radiates a glimmer of hope, underscoring the resilience of the human spirit.
Tumblr media
The ensemble cast of "Shōgun" shines brilliantly, each member delivering performances that leave a lasting impact. From the charismatically charming yet brutal portrayal of Tadanobu Asano as Yabushige to the scheming and cunning rendition of Fumi Nikaido as Ruri, every actor breathes life into their character with skill and precision. Moeka Hoshi's portrayal of the broken yet resilient Fuji, and Takehiro Hira's power-hungry depiction of Ishido, further solidify the ensemble's strength, while Tokuma Nishioka's powerful and wise portrayal of Hiromatsu adds depth to the narrative.
However, it is Hiroyuki Sanada's performance as Yoshii Toranaga that truly stands out, marking a triumphant moment in his career. Despite being typecast and overlooked by Hollywood for years, Sanada seizes the opportunity to showcase his talents as both an actor and a producer in Shōgun. In his portrayal of the powerful and intimidating Toranaga, Sanada commands the screen with a commanding presence, embodying his character's intellect, ambition, and prowess with aplomb. What sets Sanada's performance apart is his ability to infuse Toranaga with an unpredictable nature, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats as they anticipate his next move. With each moment on screen, Sanada captivates audiences with his depth and nuance, delivering what can only be described as his finest performance to date. Finally given a role where he can truly shine, Sanada proves himself to be a force to be reckoned with, cementing his status as one of the industry's most talented actors.
Tumblr media
Every aspect of this series is a visual feast. The cinematography is nothing short of breathtaking, capturing the stunning landscapes and rich cultural tapestry of Feudal Japan with remarkable skill. From the intricate costumes to the meticulously crafted production design, every detail is thoughtfully considered, drawing viewers deeper into the immersive world of Shōgun.
But Shōgun is more than just television—it's an immersive journey into one of the most pivotal moments in Japanese history. With its masterful storytelling and captivating characters, the series transcends the screen, offering viewers a profound exploration of the human experience against the backdrop of historical upheaval. In a landscape dominated by formulaic narratives, Shōgun stands as a shining example of the power of the historical epic, reminding us of the importance of stories that not only entertain but also enlighten and inspire.

The characters I want to see more of their relationship; Gakushū Asano and Gakuhō Asano
Tumblr media
When I was watching the first season of the anime Assassination Classroom, I was interested in the conflict between the father and the son and Asano’s attempt to figure out his father's secrets, change his methods and bring him down. But I wanted to see more of them.
I think Asano and his father have a formal and aloof relationship at home. They never lie on the couch in their pajamas and watch football. They never hang out, make plans together for holidays, cook together. There is always a line that can’t be crossed. A wall that distances them from each other.
To me, Asano isn’t like a child who suffers from lack of affection, or attention. It seems that the principle has put all his attention on his education and has high expectations from him and is training him as his successor. of course, Asano is under pressure to be the best, but does he think that he will lose his father by not being the first? He wants his father to be overthrown but he doesn’t want to do it with marking the wrong answer. He doesn’t rebel against his father’s method openly. He wants him to be proved wrong.
He looks so proud, confident and cheerful. He knows that there should be a difference between his behavior with the man in front of him as a father and a principle, and he doesn't seem to have a problem with this. I remember that our teacher was the mother of one of the classmates, and seeing the discomfort and tension between them in the class was a laughing matter for the students.
He doesn’t seem to be afraid of his father in their first meeting at his office. He doesn’t shy away from questioning him about his secret activities. His father doesn't have a problem with Asano challenging him and considers it necessary for him to grow up, but when the boy doesn't succeed, he brutally puts him in his place. And I think he believes it is necessary for his son’s growth, too. But he also believes that his son can never be better than him. It’s like he doesn’t want to be bested by him.
When his father slaps him harshly in front of the whole class, his respond is a bitter laugh. At last, he gets to see the fatherly side of him, even as a slap. It means that he has always seen the instructor/ the principle/ the educator side of him. It must have been really lonely, and frustrating. This is sth that I wanted to see more.
@tuulikannel shared a very interesting interpretation about the slap scene that I decided to include it in my post. "I feel like Gakushuu didn't mean the slap itself, but the way his father looked after that. The man just stood there, staring at his hand, as if not believing he had just done that. Gakushuu does say something like, "you look like you're glitching. Am I finally seeing your fatherly side?"(i.e. are you actually horrified you hit your son?)" (@tuulikannel sorry I replied to your comment but it just disappeared.)
And I also liked that Asano shoots the ball towards his father. I can't imagine doing this to my parents and getting away with it.

TIP YOUR LOCAL BARTENDER
RULE ONE. first off. i go by alcohol here, i have been for a while now and it’s just stuck over the year or two using it. i’m 33 years old, my pronouns are she/her and i live in the CMT timezone. i have a fulltime job and i never have a set schedule so i might not be on as much as i’d want to so please be patient with me! this blog is for fun so if you start pestering me about a reply it’ll get less and less fun and more about timelines and it’ll stress me out. any and all hate will be deleted and blocked as well. i suffer from depression and anxiety so this place is the one place i can enjoy and escape the world and i don’t want that ruined.
RULE TWO. this blog is independent(not affiliated with any group) selective(will be picky on who i follow/follow back), private (i only rp with people who are mutuals with me). so please be aware of that when following me. at this time the only exclusive person i have is shiba's paulie(shipwrght) to my kaku. we've just fleshed out our characters so much that i don't want to rp kaku with any other paulie's, i want to say thank you for understanding!
RULE THREE. there will be no god modding on this blog. that means what my character does is controlled by me and me alone, unless you ask me about a fight sequence where my character gets hurt, don’t make it so your character hits mine, instead go something like “they aim to hit–” that way i can decide if the hit actually makes contact or not, making it more fun to rp with you!
RULE FOUR. this is a multi muse blog, so there will be different muses for different fandoms. if you have any problem with any fandom i have, then i will tag it accordingly. but you need to let me know because i won’t tag most of my rps besides “ic post” and the url of the person i’m rping with.
RULE FIVE. everything that might be trigger inducing will be tagged as “___ warning” and if you want something else tagged just let me know and i’ll tag it for you!
RULE SIX.  this blog is not safe for personal blogs to follow. unless your personal blog has an rp blog attached to it i will block you, so be sure to let me know that you have an rp blog if that’s the case!
RULE SEVEN. i do rp with OCs and i really enjoy it! however i will need a bit of an about to go by so i know how my character will react to yours or how to even go about making you starters!
RULE EIGHT.  the only thing that i wish to be triggered is bdsm/rape/noncon/torture as well as visuals on needles and if you could tag those as “hdl” that would be fantastic!
Thank you so much for reading! I hope you have a wonderful day! Hope to rp with you soon!

[New AO3 Fic!] Home Is Where Your Teeth Sink
by bacchanalia
He moves on. Alphabetically. “Ja—,” he starts. And then Ichigo feels his heart drop out of his asshole. “Jaegerjaquez…Neliel?” He looks up, locks eyes with her, and tries to search them for blue. But, there’s none. They're honey brown. Someone else’s. They’re someone else’s eyes on that last name and Ichigo feels sick. He has no right to. No right at all to anything attached to that damn name. Not anymore.
The year is 1986 when Ichigo leaves Japan, and his college roommate, Grimmjow, behind to finish school in America. He tells himself a lot of things. Like how he didn't run away, how he's straight. How he doesn't miss that feral smile and how he definitely wasn't in love. It takes ten years for him to come home with only his pretenses for luggage. Starting a new job as an elementary school teacher is as exhilerating as it is terrifying. A lot can change in a decade, but not everything. Never everything.

A list of Manga I recommend
Recently I’ve been reading a lot of manga and stuff, but I also haven’t posted in AGES due to exams and i feel an urge to YAP about some like a madwoman. Trigger warnings will be listed in each description because my tastes are super weird. Super Dark shit, contrasted with silly cutesy love stories.
Goodnight Punpun
Trigger warnings: Depression, Suicide + Suicide ideation, R/pe, domestic violence, explicit sex scenes
Tumblr media
Starting off strong with an Inio Asano manga, Goodnight Punpun is a realistic narrative about the ups and downs of the protagonist, Punpun’s life. In fact it’s one of my favourite manga about the human experience. It’s a story of absurdism, the ability to accept your life and to move on despite it being completely meaningless in the long run. It’s perfect for anyone who enjoys more dark and complicated manga.
Juujika no Rokunin
Trigger warnings: Murder, death, r/pe, torture, gore
Tumblr media
I’ve read this one more recently and have only just really started it if I am honest and my first comment is: This. Is. Dark. It’s extremely dark for a shounen manga. My jaw had dropped numerous times reading this. Like, Jesus Christ? The story follows a boy named Uruma who suffered extreme and endless bullying throughout his childhood. The group of bullies end up being responsible for the death of Uruma’s parents, as well as the hospitalisation of his younger brother. He vows to avenge his family by undergoing training from his World War 2 veteran Grandfather. It feels kinda stupid in some places? but in a way that only animanga could pull off for it to properly hit.
Zetman
Warnings: Sex, Nudity, Violence
Tumblr media
Zetman gives me so many DC vibes I love it so much for that. It’s about a teenager named Jin, who has the ability to turn into a superhuman named Zetman, and Kouga, a rich boy who uses technology. They both fight against the same thing, but for different reasons. I feel as though Zetman transgresses against most superhero stories, as Jin becomes a hero out of responsibility, while Kouga becomes one simply out of a sense of justice and desire. Despite their differences they come together to protect the world.
Emanon
Tumblr media
Emanon follows the story of a woman who has lived various lives for billions of years, since the creation of life, the catch being she is able to retain all memory of the past lives. She is a character with no clear purpose, no direction. She just wanders, wanders and wanders. The story is fairly simple, it’s just a recount of her life but I still find there to be something incredible special and beautiful within it.
Kaiju No. 8
Warnings: Death, violence
Tumblr media
Kaiju No. 8 is a very typical shounen story in some aspects, but also very unique in others. In the world of the story, it’s inhabited by monsters known as Kaiju, as well as the protectors of the world known as the Defense Force. The story doesn’t quite start there, as it begins with Kafka, an adult man who’s job is simply cleaning the streets after the Defense Force defeat any Kaiju. After an accident, he ingests a kaiju which gives him the ability to transform into one and from there he decided to join the force to fulfill a childhood promise with his friend.
The fragrant flower blooms with dignity
Tumblr media
Moving on from the depressing, serious stuff, this manga is literally the cutest. It’s a silly little spin on the story of Romeo and Juliet, and it follows Rin, a teenage boy who appears scary but is gentle at heart, and sweet, quiet girl Kaoruko. The two hit it off immediately, but the problem is the two attend rival schools in their areas. I love the characters so much. All of them have a place in the story, all of them develop. Plus they’re all just sweet as hell together.

Day 13 of Maehara Shenanigans: Shuu
Tumblr media
Oh geez…
So some people may be aware that I have a total of two dynamics for when it comes to Maehara and Shuu
One is where Maehara’s like “Asano is a total asshole who thinks he’s better than everyone else. Seriously, fuck him!”
The other Maehara’s like “So, I’m good at math and Asano’s great at math and I need more members for my algebro squad. Welp, guess I got to bug him until he joins!”
But I also have a secret third option.
Like, imagine a scenario where Maehara catches Shuu playing soccer (albeit by himself and let’s just say that there’s a nearby soccer field) and decided to watch for a bit until Shuu caught him. Something something, 1V1 SOCCER MATCH!
At first, Shuu wasn’t too keen on the idea but his competitive spirit took over.
Who wins is irrelevant at this point but afterwards, Shuu ends up nearly passing out. Turns out he didn’t eat anything the day prior. After learning this, Maehara was not having any of that and practically drags him to the nearest fast food joint. At this point, Shuu was too out of it to care and plus, he was hungry.
Even though he wanted to get something healthy, Maehara decided that Shuu was going to get some good old junk food because why the hell not?
Maehara: “You’re going to eat a burger and fries and you’re going to enjoy it!”
Usually Shuu wouldn’t consider eating something so fatty. But considering where he was and who he was with (yet another persistent womanizing scumbag) there was no point in fighting and he just ate.
He got a couple ketchup stains on his shirt, which made Maehara laugh at him (Which earned him a scary glare from Shuu 😆)
It’s kind of weird seeing the dude who took part in sending your bestie down to the end-class eat like a whole toddler huh 😅
Don’t know how to end it off but I guess the secret third option is basically,“Asano’s an ass and pretty much a dick to me and my friends. But, I don’t want him to suffer or anything. He deserves some McDonald’s!”

3 Ships I like: The past few days I've been suffering from sleep deprivation, and my brain has been throwing me these curve balls: TsukiNoya (Haikyuu), ShinjiJunpei (Persona 3), and MiziSua (last one not actually a curveball, but the ideating for it has been Wild)
First Ship Ever: You don't want to know what my first ships were. I was shipping Winnie the Pooh characters. I was shipping the fucking Teletubbies. You aren't ready for my childhood ships.
Last Song You Heard: a great Spanish cover of Otonoke (I believe the lead musician on it went by Aki-chan). Easily my favorite DanDanDan cover now.
Favorite Childhood Book: If manga counts, Saikano by Inio Asano. Otherwise...maybe "The Kite Runner"? That shit fucked me up.
Currently Reading: I'm following like, 60 different comics that update every day, so I couldn't tell ya. But lately it's all been shoujo manga and RF webtoons (and yaoi. But that hasn't changed since I was in my tweens).
Currently Watching: a lot of Mouthwashing animatics. The only actual shows I still keep up with nowadays are on Dropout—been really digging Gastronauts
Currently Consuming: hydroxyzine ✌️
Currently Craving: There is a small little cafe a few blocks from my place of residence, which sells fancy French desserts. In that cafe is a beautiful croissant that is filled with pink cream and sliced strawberries, and I mean Stuffed. I have been dreaming of that croissant for the past several days, possessed by thoughts of it, but each morning I've slept through the cafe's extremely early hours.
I'm dying. They aren't open weekends, I need to wait until next week to try again. If I don't eat this dessert soon I'll literally die. There is nothing more important to me than fancy cute desserts.
I am way too medicated rn to think about tagging people, so anyone who wants to can steal this and say they got it from me ✌️

12K12Days: 12/12 Theme Free
hey so this is like super late, but. I wanna talk about Sugimoto for a sec.
I know Sugimoto's role in the anime is controversial, but I actually don't hate that she’s in the Shadow of the Moon/Sea of Shadows arc. Sugimoto is a very minor character in the book; she's only there in the beginning to get bullied by the other girls (and Youko for going along with it). Her role in the anime is expanded upon, and she becomes an antagonist for the first arc. She works quite well as a foil to Youko: the contrast between Youko's positive character development and Sugimoto's downwards spiral before coming to terms with her pain was honestly pretty interesting.
I found Sugimoto to be a compelling antagonist, because her motivations are really understandable. I, too, had daydreamed about being somebody worthwhile with a Special Destiny™️, and I was only dealing with normal pre-teen angst. Sugimoto, on the other hand, was relentlessly bullied. It makes sense why she latches so hard on to the fantasy of being the Chosen One: what's the point of going through all this fear and suffering and alienation, both in Japan and in Kou/the Twelve Kingdoms world, if there was no justification/reward at the end for it?
And then—after being manipulated by King Kou and making a lot of very bad decisions—she has to come to terms with the fact that sometimes bad things just happen, and there is no higher purpose to justify the pain she went through. But she also realizes her life doesn't have to be grand or fantastical to still be worth living! To me, Sugimoto's arc showed me that you can make mistakes, BIG ones even, and still turn out okay. You can start to heal if you're willing to stop hurting others to soothe your own pain, and take responsibility for what you did. And for a kid who was perhaps overly concerned about being secretly bad or selfish and/or not a good enough person (whatever that meant), that was really reassuring.
Would I like her role in the anime as much if I didn't watch the show as a young teen and got into the source material through the show? Probably not. But because I did watch it at that age, how Sugimoto's arc worked together with Youko's resonated with me. I did not love the whole "I'll have a normal life, get married and have lots of kids for your sake too" nonsense, but I was relieved that Sugimoto gets a second chance and finds meaning in a "normal life"... even though I agree that the scene messes up the worldbuilding regarding how shoku works.
(Asano though... he really is superfluous, since his main role seems to be showing that Youko really had matured and changed by Thousand Leagues of Wind/Skies of Dawn, which we already know from, yanno, watching the anime.)
