So I will say I probably should’ve done these differently (turn Creative into Artistic as opposed to Vampire, but whatever. They actually started out alphabetical in game which I thought was neat. They’re still fairly close!

But basically what I’ve done here is replace almost all the turn-ons with personality/trait based ones. I’m wishing we could mix and match individual turn-ons actually because as I write this list I’m already worried about people thinking there’s too many supernatural ones. But they’re used in my game so idk. They’re much more relevant than full face makeup I feel.

For badges sims require a silver level to have the turn-on. For skills I’ve increased it to 8 points, and if a turn-on mentions a hobby, a sim either needs 5 points or have it as their One True Hobby.

Florian is a florist who has had a stand as long as he can remember, he has always been interested in botany since a young age and started working initally as a flower delivery boy in Amsterdam when he was growing up in the Netherlands. He now has his own flower shop and lives in a small apartment above it with his roommate Matteo who owns the record shop next door to his florist (I'll get to him eventually).

Florian is quite timid by personality and does not like confrontation. He has a tendency to undersell his products at times as he does not wish to argue with customers. He is also very kind hearted and has a bad habit of doing things such a funeral flowers for free.

He can be a pessimist at times and tends to overanalyse situations. However, he has a strong sense of morality and always acts to help someone weaker than him or those he loves without his usual hesitancy.

Florian's Stand- Savage Garden

Savage Garden is a humanoid, long ranged Stand. It's primary method of attack is using branches and vines to grip foes, similarly to Hermit Purple or Hierophant Green. It can also use its hands to emit a sweet scent similar to a pitcher plant which makes people feel safe and at ease. Florian prefers to use this when his friends are hurt or scared as opposed to offensively.

It's main ability is that it can touch plants and take on qualities of the plants it touches. Examples are:

Sunflowers - It will move quickly toward sources of light at speeds surpassing it's usual.

Roses - Gains thorned vines which can be used to inflict damage.

Horse Chesnut Tree - Gains spiked armour

Dandelion - Becomes light and able to float on air currents.

Stinging Nettle - Emits a poison that causes rashes and itching on contact.

It's limitation lies in the fact there must be a plant nearby for it to gain its qualities. It can be used for healing depending what plants it touches. It also functions poorly in bad weather and at night as plants need the sun.

craving human connection lately and i dont know how to go about solving it currently because ive isolated myself pretty fuckin hard and like... i am bad at building it from scratch. i know thats. kinda just like sucks to suck do it anyways but. winter is here so im even less likely to go anywhere to just kinda hope something happens. boy is my ride and we have opposing schedules so i cant do art markets anymore. no one talks to me at work and like. i dont want to start trying to hang around people who i miiiiight get along with just to have stilted ass conversation to try to get that going and the rest of them annoy the crap out of me because theyre arrogant jaded retirees. i have too many fucking hobbies i built up when i had to be self sufficient in isolation so i dont really want to introduce another to go out to even when i consider like a sport hobby. plus most of them are stupid expensive or require travel times that are just ridiculous.

sigh. i know i just gotta pick a poison and deal. but. im tired. im very greatful to the people online who reach out to me here and there and habe stuck around in any capacity through the years because like. i am a bad friend for most people im not good at keeping up my end of the bargain at all. and i dont blame people for not havin the energy to sustain something not adequately reciprocated. but i wish i was better at it and had any degree of a social circle cause it is exhausting trying to convince my stupid monkey brain its social needs are met when theyre not. i feel like the media trope of the insane person making garbage into dolls to talk to. not that im implying the people i do talk to are the dolls; that would be rude lmao. but like pasting over the gaps in my environment and just gaslighting my psychology into pretending its fine.

how different is your creative process between writing and drawing (and in which areas)? do you have a different approach in each artform? if you have an idea, you first think how you'd write it or draw it?

This is definitely going to be long so. Cut.

Just to preface, obviously both writing and drawing are a form of art, but I tend to use the word “art” when I mean illustration or drawing, so that’s what I’m going to do here. And of course a disclaimer that I’m only speaking to my subjective experience.

Tbh I don’t think my approach to both is that different from each other, which is odd, because I’m used to thinking of them as very different processes. Probably because the mediums themselves are so different. But like with my writing, I tend to improvise. Feel it out, see how things go, throw ideas at the wall. I would probably say that I’m more willing to experiment with/scrap my art than my writing. Probably because I’m more confident with my art than my writing, so I find it easier to make judgments like that, or because I’ve made so much that throwing stuff away when it isn’t working is very easy. I get a bit more precious about my writing. I always want to keep it or at least try to adapt it into something less bad, lmao. I’m also just not as confident in my ability to judge what writing is worth keeping or worth permanently deleting. I just haven’t polished that skill for writing as much as I have for art.

With regards to planning my art – I definitely do sometimes, because I consider art my Serious Hobby, which means I do like to have a go at more serious projects as opposed to just improvising all the time (a contrast to my writing where my only “serious project” is senseific, and I fell into that by accident). The things I plan out are the idea/s I want to convey, and what imagery would express that. (like this IW art, and the second one in this umineko post) Or sometimes the imagery gets stuck in my head and I work from that. (yagami’s hair clinging to his neck here)

I actually find that planning too much can be detrimental to my art process. That is to say, not in terms of figuring out ideas/themes, but doing too much drafting. I find it very difficult to do things like clean lineart unless I’m having a Weirdly Good Art Moment, so I just don’t. Hence a lot of my art is very sketchy. I’m just not good at capturing the same looseness with “proper” lineart than with my sketches, so I keep them. Not worth fussing over. This is what works for me.

(even in this, and the first image here, you can see a lot of breaks and incomplete looking lines. not to say necessarily that this is a bad thing of course, but you can see that even in what I consider my “polished” work, I won’t use “proper” linework, but instead a high quality/detailed sketch. I imagine some other artists would have their proper linework stage after these sketches, but i choose to stop here)

this probably reads like I’m talking myself down, but that’s not really what I’m meaning to say – my point is that I don’t figure out details even for my bigger pieces, and that with drawn art I have a better time judging where my time is best spent. I don’t think I have a strong understanding of my writing by comparison, so I can’t decide how to play to my strengths or anything like that, I just have to see how i go.

For writing, either it’s “i’m in the mood for it” or “i’m not in the mood for it”. For art, it’s “today is a good day/bad day”, “today’s a painting day”, “today feels like masking”, “today I just want to sketch”, “today I’m too loose for what I want to work on”, “today I’m too stiff”. You can see the difference in my ability to judge, yeah? So a big difference is to do with just my own (relative) inexperience with writing as opposed to drawing.

I think the other major factor is the differences in the mediums themselves. A fanfic is sequential. There’s a change in time. Illustrations are by nature a single moment in time. Big difference there. Of course, there are comics and animatics and other art that’s both drawn and sequential, but since I don’t do a lot of that, just count that as exceptions for now (and in a way, those are kind of like a combination of writing and illustration, aren’t they?) I find there are some ideas that are conveyed easier or better through writing, and others where the better option is art.

So to answer your last question, often ideas come to me pre-packaged as a “writing idea” or an “art idea”, rather than having to decide that separately. In the case that a sequence is better conveyed with a visual element, that’s when it’s comic time. The gorillashipping comic is a great example of this. The punchline is at its best when it’s not explained in words, and the expression of the final panel does all the heavy lifting. I pitched this idea initially in words (as a joke on discord), but the comic version has more punch.

Comics are also great for when you want to avoid explaining context, and for when you want to force the reader to take a specific pace. Here’s the example I’m thinking of.

The visual space dedicated to the fighting forces you to take time to process, and that time is important for the buildup to the punchline. This wouldn’t work as well if we cut this down to, say, the four panels of the last example. So yeah, timing. And then my other point – context – why are these two fighting? I don’t know. Where are they? I don’t know. It’s not necessary for the joke. The same is true of the gorillashipping joke. How did the relationship between kiryu and kaito happen to make this even remotely possible? I don’t know. But I don’t need to explain it in a joke comic. With writing I find that it feels more necessary to make context clear to the reader so they understand what’s happening, but with illustrations, it’s a lot easier to skip over that. Obviously this isn’t impossible in a written format, but that’s just my personal opinion.

Admittedly I think this second example is doable with just pure writing (replace all the panels with descriptions of the fight that take long enough to simulate the time it takes for the reader to digest the build up, then make the punchline a wham line, yknow), but it varies on a case to case basis. Also I would not want to write fighting. Lmao. I’m not… any good at that. So I guess it is also just in part about playing to strengths.

Anyway, enough comic side tangent. I’ve already started talking about it there, but was going to do a comparison between writing and art as mediums. The main thing, I find, is that they have different strengths. More than strengths/weaknesses though, the mediums themselves convey some things with ambiguity, and other things with detail.

Like I first mentioned, time: it’s easier to convey the passage of time with writing than with illustration. And like I said before with comics – conveying context – because an illustration captures a single moment in time, it’s a lot easier to avoid context entirely, while it’s harder to avoid in writing. I’ve drawn kuwagami cuddles before, and there’s no background, nothing discernable as to the lead up or any other detail. And that’s great! I don’t want to have to invent a plausible reason for them to end up hugging. I can just do it, right? But sometimes it’s the context that makes things significant, so you do want it there. A better job for writing. Writing allows you to be detailed with your context, while illustration leaves it ambiguous. Different strengths. You just pick which best fits the situation.

It’s a similar case for a lot of different factors – they're conveyed differently through both mediums, and depending on your idea, some results are more desirable than others. Rather than explaining, it’s probably better to do a direct comparison. (If it makes any difference to your curiosity, I did the drawing first then the writing. You’ve caught me on a good art day, what a nice sketch…)

I’ll try not to talk too much because I think the comparison and table say enough, but you can see how, despite depicting basically the same thing, these two things feel pretty different from each other. The mediums do different things. The mood of both is similar, but not quite the same. It’s these differences that inform the choice of mediums instinctually. (but again. points at disclaimer. as is true with all “rules” about art, none of these are absolute. you can make an illustration that conveys a strong context. you can write fic that favours describing facial expressions and leaves the intended emotion ambiguous. i’m generalising to make a point here.)

I guess the other thing is that it’s pretty easy to do writing in bed on my phone compared to my art setup, lmao. Convenience and timing also play into it probably.

The opposition to rewrites in the FNDM is just so goddamn weird to me, given that one of the cornerstones of another fandom I'm in is a rewrite of a canon storyline that had some really cool ideas but dogshit execution. I see people saying that the rewriters are arrogant for thinking that they can do RWBY better than the official team, but no, in my experience even if they are arrogant it's equally possible that they're right. Official doesn't mean "The Best" or even "Good", just official.

Exactly. Ultimately it shouldn't even matter whether rewrites are "good" or not because

a) That's a highly subjective interpretation no one will ever agree on

b) They're written by amateurs for free as a hobby - with "amateur" meaning someone who does not produce RWBY writing in a professional capacity, not someone who is automatically "bad" at the art - and thus rewrites would be at huge disadvantage even if we did want to judge their quality

and c) That's just what fanfiction is?? Transformation??? The writer's motivation is inconsequential. Whether they're producing this because they think they can craft a better story than canon, or whether they simply want a creative means of celebrating it, the end result is still the same: a new, unofficial RWBY product that readers will inevitably compare to the original, favorably or otherwise

So yeah, it's wild to me. I've literally never seen another fandom so anti-rewrite. It's usually the opposite - as you say, a cornerstone of fan engagement - where fans, both jokingly and not, talk about how sometimes fic is a love letter and sometimes it's a "FUCK YOU STRONGLY WORDED TELEGRAM TO FOLLOW." Despite RWBY appearing unique at first glance (from my perspective, anyway) I wonder if part of this is due to larger fandom trends? Meaning, RWBY is comparatively young as fandoms go and I've noticed in recent years a prioritization of canon that hasn't been around before, particularly when it comes to shipping. Some of that is good imo (like the push for queer canonization) and some of it is just downright odd (what do you mean I'm not "allowed" to ship them just because they haven't spoken to each on screen? Since when is THAT a requirement?). Though RWBY is definitely an extreme case, there seems to be this generalized move from, "This is our canon and it's great, or maybe it sucks, but either way it's a spring board for all of THESE cool things" to "This is our canon and it is scared. It is perfect, flaws and all. If you're going to add to it I need a detailed proposal for how this fits into the established world, encapsulates the original author's vision, and maintains characterization even though I'm too young to know what OOC stands for." Certainly in RWBY's case, I wonder if part of it stems from the rise in social media and, as a result, fans "personal" relationships with the actors and writers. When you're seeing a creator's tweets all day and feeling like they're your online friend, you might be less inclined to "mess with" their work; as opposed to seeing an actor/writer at a con once a year, going home, recognizing that they're a complete stranger outside of any fantasies, and then getting on with playing in their sandbox because why wouldn't you? They're never going to know. This is the age of fans sending their fic to actors to read aloud and tweeting at writers that such-and-such had this to say about the show. Though this was done in a cool and positive light, I have legit had a meta of mine tweeted at a OFMD actor and, if the like he gave is any indication, he read it... which is a weird thing to think about considering he was not the audience I had in mind while crafting it. Those kinds of interactions has got to have some kind of impact on fans' perception of what they can and cannot do with the material...

Anyway, today's PSA is that if you want to do a rewrite of any story - yes, even RWBY! - you are absolutely allowed to do that regardless of how "good" it supposedly is. Go forth and get creative. Get messy. Do whatever the hell you want and if someone in the fandom tries to make you feel bad about that, tell me and I'll manifest a Lego in their shoe.

After all, it's not like the entirety of RWBY is built on transforming others' stories or anything :)

Even as straight as he is, he finds the dynamic of Naruhina and Sasusaku weird. He isn’t opposed to the idea that Naruto and Sasuke remains single and travel the world.

Two guys traveling together as brothers is a common concept in Chinese Martial art novels. Jin Yongs’ are really great. He knows how to write brotherhood without making them gays and how to write good female characters that could move the plots smoothly. His female characters are the best. They have show-comings but all of them are charming in their ways, even villains.

The reason he thinks Naruto wants to be with Hinata is her breast, the same reason with Ichigo in Bleach, which, based on his personal opinion, is legit and reasonable.

In his words, “Guys don’t care that much. You bring me food, clean my house, raise our kids well. You are good. We would protect you, support you and raise our kids.”

Sakura is not bad but he doesn’t think Sasuke likes her. He thinks Sasuke is more a single type, who never marries and he thinks he is too rebellious to obey the whole social system about parents and kids. She would be good fuck buddies because she is too obsessed with him. It wouldn’t waste any efforts. (That’s just so, so, so straight.)

And Danzou is a bitch. A universal idea.

He likes Senju brothers and thinks Madara should be the final villain.

And Kaguya shit is just for money. A universal idea.

As for being fathers, he thinks Naruto is a good father. He brings food to the table, so what is Boruto complaining about? Not enough attentions? Find some books to read or some games to play. Boys should start to find their own habits to focus on at 12.

He thinks Boruto is too old to bitch about his father working all the time and Naruto is a good father to tolerate his shit.

For Sarada, he directly says Sasuke just isn’t into family. He doesn’t want kids at all. That’s sometimes natural for guys like him.

When guys talk about Naruto, the whole discussion would literally be about who is the strongest and who can beat whom, for an hour. That’s so fun.

And some really, really straight guys could literally read the same stories in completely different ways.

By the way, my brother is never a sexiest. He just talked about his feeling about those ships and the reasons why all of them might align with the reality. I just consider those opinions funny and post his ideas here because those are just too straight. So straight and different to a point that I can’t believe we read the same stuffs. My darling girl Jileyna, originally known as Julianna and affectionately nicknamed Jila by the people (you).

✨- How did you come up with the OC’s name?

Julianna originally was just a name I picked with very little logic behind it. I needed a ttrpg character to play and extropolated "Julianna" from Julian of Norwich, a spiritual writer (she was originally a D&D cleric!). Jileyna came about from mangling her name a bit (with @fvriva's help) so it could keep some of the same sounds but not sound western, when I changed her setting from the Forgotten Realms to my original setting.

24-25. Her exact age isn't known because she was a foundling.

🌺- Do they have any love interest(s)?

Yes and no. fvriva is pushing for her to hook up with her OC, Baran, for thematic reasons. I'm not opposed to it. Whenever i get back to the Areatam novel though, she will probably have a different love interest.

🍕 - What is their favorite food?

For a proper meal it's the red gourd curry she makes. The red gourd is a staple food in areatam, hearty and grows anywhere, so this is a fairly common food, enjoyed largely by peasants and religious ascetics. That said she develops a taste for sweets. In D&D her favorite food was tiramisu.

💼 - What do they do for a living?

Julianna is a religious ascetic; in D&D she was a cleric with an acolyte background. In Areatam she is alternately referred to as a nun or monk by players, depending on what's funniest, though the actual word used in the setting is bhante which is gender neutral. She lived and worked in a large temple, where all the bhantes take turns doing all the essential tasks for maintaining the temple. However, in D&D she was an illuminator.

She likes cooking best of all the work she does at the temple, and draws on her own time. She continues to do these things outside of it.

What she does best is dole out massive amounts of damage with the destructive magical power welling up inside of her. Followed by cooking.

Jileyna loves her hobbies, and sitting in prayerful contemplation, and successfully commanding the lightning. She hates unsuccessfully commanding the lightning, because she hates feeling like she is bad at things, which is common due to her being rather clumsy.

❤️ - What is one of your OC’s best memories?

As Julianna, it was an incident in which she finessed a social interaction in a dungeon. The party entered a neutral goblin camp and watched an improvised performance of a play they were putting on. Julianna transcribed and illustrated the play and sold it back to the goblin leader for information, earning the approval of the party. In Areatam, Jileyna's best memories are yet to form, though she likes to remember the free time she spent discussing philosophy and the shaping arts with her mentor Sebron.

✂️ - What is one of your OC’s worst memories?

In D&D, it would be the day they fought Tiamat, a horrific battle in which one party member died. Though the party emerged victorious, and Tiamat was slain (by Jila's own hand even!) it was a dark day that she would not soon relive.

Nope! As Jila originated in D&D her appearance was originally more western, featuring blonde hair. Her equipment was more western in style and she was also more muscular. Now she is thinner, dark haired, and has glasses. My artist and party members insist she is flat-chested too though I have made it clear she is not lmao

A former friend and I were crafting a setting whose premise was that the earth and a fantasy world merged together in some kind of cosmic event. I started making up random characters, of which I vaguely got the idea for a half-elf cleric who was a devout christian and the daughter of Zeus. This was a joke character, and I pared the premise down to actually be like, good

She does not have parents, though in the D&D setting she was originally going to be my bard character's half sister. This did not however wind up going anywhere. In Areatam I plan to leave the idea of her birth parents entirely untouched. They don't matter. In terms of having an adult figure that raised and influenced though, she could be said to have two father figures, Sebron, a soldier who retired into the cloth, and Abbot Behoom. They both mentored her in different ways, though of the two Sebron is more fatherly while Behoom is more paternalistic. If that makes sense at all lmao. She likes them both though.

🧠 - What do you like most about the OC?

I like how she grew out of being a joke character into an actual good character that I like and enjoy writing thinking about. That can't be said for all my joke characters

Pretty often. I have used her in 3 rpg campaigns (one fell through, the other was fun but I didn't feel fulfilled in terms of character growth, the third is ongoing) and I have also written a few chapters of a novel set in her new original setting.

No, though she is full of religious terror over the concept of corruption. In Areatam certain actions and behaviors accrue corruption, which is like a physical manifestation of sin. It alters your magic to become uncontrollable and causes you to become evil. Many people over the course of their lives will accrue a small amount of corruption but it's definitely looked down upon to have any significant amount, even before it starts becoming actually dangerous.

i think that’s craig is more inclined to listen to older music just from spending time with his dad as a kid, they were always listening to either the classic rock station or the country station and i think craig still tends to listen to the older stuff since he already knows the songs, but he isn’t opposed to new music either (i also hc that craig is a total swiftie)

i don’t hc either of them as big drinkers, i think they are like a glass of wine with dinner types of people, that being said, tweek 100% that man has a short fuse and fighting experience, usually the cause of it is someone saying some homophobic shit about him and craig or anyone else in the bar and tweek has no tolerance for that so he will shut it down really quick.

craig hands down, he is the type to find a really good hiding spot and just snipe people and no one ever finds him, he calculates every single move he makes and always wins

that depends, usually whoever started it is the one that apologizes first but i think tweek will do it a lot faster then craig will. now i think that’s they have a very healthy relationship, personally i think that they go to relationship counseling because they are both kind of shit at talking about their feelings and stuff and having that third person there really gets them to talk about anything they might need too without it escalating into a big fight. i don’t think they fight often so when they do it’s really bad, like they aren’t talking for a few days after, but they always get over it, usually tweek apologizes first because he’s stressed that if he doesn’t he thinks craig is going to leave him. and craig will apologize when he realizes he was being an asshole

craig, but unintentionally. he doesn’t really care he just grabs things that he thinks look nice and then he leaves, like he’s usually just wearing black jeans, a random tshirt and his NASA jacket (that he got from work) and then i think he exclusively wears high top black converse. like it’s nothing particularly special but it just works for him, tweek would say it’s because he’s naturally hot so he could wear anything he wants and still look fantastic. tweek lives in a hoodie and jeans cause he’s always cold and he doesn’t bother putting together a nice outfit because it’s just going to get covered in coffee anyway

tweek for sure, he is the opposite of craig who has two or three interests and hobbies that he is just so incredibly hyperfixated on that they never change. tweek can’t focus on anything but is somehow naturally good at everything he does, his main hobbies are reading, piano, and painting but he has tried almost every single type of art that he realistically can he goes through all sorts of phases, pretty much anything you can think of tweek has been into at one point or another

need to improve my life significantly. can't wallow anymore. it's retarded. thinking about my art versus life conflict while walking around after dark, which I settled ages ago and chose life over art obviously. but engaging in a semi creative project sort of reignited this in me. I was reading through... what I will only classify as poetry which I... sort of wrote. I made it more than wrote it but I don't want to tell how it was made. anyways I have this poetry I wrote years and years ago for this huge ambitious project I was going to make for the woman I was talking about. and some I did after that too which I actually like more. anyways the initial project was going to be a book called "In Death Valley" and it was going to be poetry, art, collages, maybe some more straightforward writing. but all sort of dedicated to her and inspired by her. I never got around to finishing it, and a lot of it is bad, but there are some good poems at least. they're not about love or anything I was just inspired creatively because I was in love. and never told her about this or eluded to it I was going to wait until I was done and gave up when she rejected me. it was vaguely about my feelings and shit. hence the name, that's how I felt because she never showed interest in me so much this was all my psychosis. but I thought oh if I give her this book she will understand everything about me and see how great I am, how visionary and creative I am. or whatever. anyways I want to revise it a bit and I think I will in my unemployment.

my main problem with art over life is that art is more or less escapism and generates a kind of false sense of achievement and purpose. it's essentially playing. and while you're doing it you believe in yourself so much and you think you're so special and important and you haven't really accomplished anything. unless you have rich parents you're never going to get anywhere in the arts apart maybe from music, but even then rich parents are a good head start. I never got anywhere and for a few years it was all I ever thought about and did. it was my entire life I thought I'm an artist I'm going to write I'm going to make music I'm going to do collages. all of my life was devoted to expressing myself and for what? then again where have I gotten focusing on how miserable it is to be alive as a normal person. it's a hard call but I'd still stick with life as opposed to art. I never really promoted myself either I was too shy, but even with my self importance I could recognize that what I was doing was not particularly new or important. it's fine as a hobby, and I do like the idea of being an artist but I think eventually you just have to be serious about things. or I do.

Ok SO Rosegold is a story that is shared between me and my friend @ind1c0lite !!! It’s abt to go thru a major rewrite bc the plot is as filled with holes as a Rhode Island interstate and we can’t have that

But the basic concept won’t change SO here we go!!

In Rosegold there exist beings known as Guardians. The Guardians were created by the Universe, who they call Mother. Mother created the Guardians to watch over certain aspects of existence. Each Guardian is assigned an aspect which is called their Domain. A guardian can have up to two Domains and they are usually related to one another in some way.

As creation exists in Mother, destruction exists in the Collective. The Collective are a hivemind, a rolling tide of eldritch flood that exists to destroy. The Universe weaves and the Collective tears. Opposing forces, a sort of yin and yang. The Guardians know that all destruction of Mother’s creations cannot be stopped, but they do their best to keep the Collective at bay.

The Guardians live in a realm called HQ. It exists somewhere outside the mortal plane and therefore can’t be accessed by mortals. HQ is headed by three guardians, who are also our main characters!

This is Una, the Guardian of Timelines and Reality! She was the first Guardian to be created by Mother. Because of this, Una takes her job as head Guardian very seriously. She’s stoic, serious, and very dedicated to her duties and to her fellow Guardians. In her free time (which is an amount that is next to nothing) she enjoys collecting and tending to her extensive collection of swords! While she cares deeply for everyone in HQ, she doesn’t open herself up to many people. I can count on one hand how many people she’s let herself be vulnerable around. But even with her closest friends, there’s some secrets that she will never tell.

Memento, or Mem for short, is the Guardian of Time and Memory! He was one of he first Guardians created after Una, and is one of the head Guardians in HQ. There is never a dull moment around Mem, he’s a huge dork and is always getting into some kind of shenanigans. He tends to skirt his duties as head Guardian a bit more than his compatriots, but he is capable of buckling down and getting shit done when needed. Mem is extraordinarily loyal and will often rush headfirst into danger in order to protect his friends. As a hobby he enjoys metalworking! He can create some fantastically intricate pieces, and quite thematically he enjoys making pocket watches. Where Mem is, you can trust that Mori is not far behind.

And speaking of, this is Mori! Mori is the Guardian of Life and Death and the third Guardian to be created after Una. I can’t really say third because he and Mem were created at the same time, so it’s hard to put a number to their arrival. The two are basically inseparable and it’s a rare sight to see them apart. Mori has one of the biggest hearts in HQ and cares deeply about his friends and fellow Guardians. He can be a bit of a stickler for the rules which sometimes gets him the reputation of being a bit of a spoilsport, but he means well. Mori tends for HQ’s sprawling gardens which he himself worked tirelessly to cultivate. He spends hours pruning and caring for his flowers. His prized rosebushes are his favorites! His relation to flowers extends outside the gardens as well. Flowers tend to bloom wherever he goes and can be a good way to tell how he’s feeling. If he’s in a particularly bad mood, however, plantlife around him will wilt and wither. Luckily, it’s rare that Mori is ever in a bad mood.

I miss being horny online... :'( I still love all my mutuals I made through Degrees of Lewdity so much. But I cant' really engage in that content anymore, because of Catholic guilt.

It's not like I regret becoming a Catholic. It's honestly one of the only things keeping me alive right now... (You know that meme. "Has life ever been so hard you turned to religion? That's meeeeee.) But I did sort of lose a big hobby I used to have.

It might be wierd to call smut reading a hobby, but it wasn't just for sexual gratification or masturbation. I mean, that was a huge part don't get me wrong, but I feel like especially with erotica (as opposed to visual pornography) that's often a lot more to it than just the horny parts.

DOL had a really interesting lore and characters built up. They weren't just sex objects. They were people with pasts and desires, and I was constantly overjoyed seeing all the creativity the fandom produced! Some of the most lovely OCs and fanarts and fanfictions I've ever seen come from that fandom. They were amazing character studies and lore analysis, and I'm sad I had to lose all of that...

I made friends and mutuals, because we both liked freaky dubcon stuff and art. Taboo subjects are a really quick way to bond over things, because there's already a level of intimacy and understanding people share over something others would find repulsive.

I miss making PC comics with Penelope... I miss reblogging smutty headcanons. I miss talking to people whose company I really treasure.

It's getting to the point that I even feel guilty reblogging sfw art or writing about smutty things. Because ultimately, is that not endorsing more smut? If I reblog it, does that not encourage someone to look up smut? I mean, I got into DOL because of some beautiful sfw fanart. Am I causing other's to sin? Even if they don't agree with me it's a sin, am I still doing something bad? Am I a millstone around some stranger's neck...?

It's just a lot to grapple with, but most of all I'm just lonely. I don't have that many friends IRL, and fandom has long been a space lonely people find community. Most of the other fandoms I'm in are either too big or too dead to find mutuals to talk to. DOL was a very special place for me, especially after I had a falling out with my best friend of six years. I had no one, and the community was there for me. Every little reblog or DM or ask made me so happy to have someone to talk to and interact with. Does that sound pathetic? I don't know.
