Richie Kirsch x Fem!Reader
I’ll probably come up with a title soon
Pt. 1, …..
Warnings: 🔞 minors dni, canon typical violence/gore, dark themes, reader is graduated but still hangs out with Tara and her friend group, mild language, gore, reader gets attacked, mentions of Mary Jane/Cannabis/W33D
Synopsis: Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, California a new killer dons the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town's deadly past…
It was about 9:27pm before you got a text from Amber
Amber: Hey, are you busy? 9:27pm
You pull down the notification at the top of your screen, stopping yourself from doomscrolling like you have been for the past hour.
You: Not really what’s up? 9:28pm
Amber: I was thinking of going over to Tara’s. Do you want to come? You could be our chaperone. She said the liquor cabinet is unlocked, and you know what that means. 😏 9:28pm
You laugh as you read the message that Amber sent, contemplating whether or not to go.
Amber: it would be fun and Tara said she had some movies to binge, including Hereditary. I’ve heard you complaining about not having the time to watch it.
You: Fine lol I’ll be there in like 20 do you need a ride? I can pick you up if you need 9:30pm
Amber: …
You look down at your phone watching the message bubble disappear then come back and disappear again
“Typical,” you say, putting down your phone on the kitchen counter. You’ve been friends with Amber and the group for about six years now. You all became friends when you were a junior in high school and they were freshmen. You're now 21 so you had more “freedom” than them if you counted still living with your mom past graduation. You felt washed up but at least you still had friends right? You take yourself upstairs to grab your things leaving your phone on the counter not bothered enough to grab it
‘As you head to your childhood room, you think to yourself, "Okay, I need my toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, deodorant, comfy clothes, and my charger." The room still has posters of your favorite bands and horror memorabilia plastered all over the walls, making it seem like you were a 17-year-old horror film and music fanatic your entire life, growing up you watched horror movies like The Stab series and Friday the 13th. You much preferred classic horror over the "elevated," as your mother called them, the originals were the staples every Halloween.
You grab everything you need and head downstairs, ready to grab your keys. Just before you can reach them, you hear your phone ringing from the kitchen counter where you left it while you were upstairs. You sigh as you walk toward your phone, wondering if it’s Amber calling to tell you that the plans were canceled at the last minute.
"Hello?" you say as you pick up the phone
“Uh, hey, it’s Wes.” You move the phone from your ear, looking down at the screen and realizing it reads "Wes" on the caller ID
“Oh yeah, hey Wes, what’s up? Did someone die?” You joke before hearing Wes clear his throat.
“Actually… Y/N it's Tara she was stabbed”
You feel a twinge of panic wash over you. "What?" was all you could muster up before Wes answered again.
“She’s in critical condition” He sounded like he was on the verge of tears. “They said she was stabbed seven times and was left there, but luckily, she called the police, they got there before they could get anymore in.”
You stand there in shock about what you're hearing not able to form a viable sentence before Wes talks again
“I think you should come, Y/N, for Tara. I’m really worried about her; I don't want her to wake up and be alone.”
“Did you call, you know who?” you ask while grabbing your keys and running out the door towards your car.
“Not yet. I wanted to call her if we got an update; she's in the ICU right now.” Wes speaks in a monotone voice. “Please hurry Y/N”
You quickly pull out of your driveway, saying a brief goodbye before hanging up and speeding to the hospital.
Arriving at the hospital was nerve-wracking. As you got out of the car, your phone started to ring, making you jump.
Unknown caller appeared on the caller ID. You decided not to answer because you were in a rush, so you declined the call and picked up your pace before your phone rang again.
“Hello?” you answer as you continue walking toward the entrance of the hospital
“Hello, is this Carly?" asked the guy on the other end of the call
“Um, no? I’m sorry, I think you've got the wrong number. Listen, it happens a lot, but I have to go; I’m kind of in a rush.” You hang up the phone before he could answer and keep walking toward the doors. As you enter Woodsboro Hospital, a wave of anxiety washes over you as you worry about Tara and how this happened.
You see Wes standing at the front desk, talking to the nurse about what you assume is Tara’s condition “Hey, holy shit what happened? Is she alright? Did they say if she'll pull through?” You rush over to Wes and pull him into a hug “No, nothing yet. They are still patching her up. I don’t think we will hear anything until the morning. I was really worried, Y/N. My mom got the call and told me to get in the car, with no explanation until we were halfway here.” You step back from the hug and ask, “Do they know who did it? Do they have a general description?” You feel your phone buzz again in your pocket, but you dismiss it, waiting for Wes’s answer “No, they don't have any information at the moment, but we hope that if Tara pulls through, she will be able to give a description.” You sigh as you look around “Did you call Amber?” You grab your phone out of your back pocket and look down at the screen
5 Missed Calls from Unknown Caller ID
You initially wondered who it was, but you had more pressing matters to address “Yes, I called her as soon as I heard; she is on her way here.” You feel a sense of relief knowing someone else is going to be here with you for the night “That's good you know how close Amber and Tara are; she would be heartbroken if anything worse happened and she didn't know.” You put your phone back into your pocket, forgetting about the unknown caller, and start walking with Wes to the waiting room.
You sat there for what felt like an eternity. Wes had already left and said to text or call when we got an update. Amber arrived shortly after, broken down in tears. “I can't believe that someone would do this.” You nodded and hugged her. "I know, but she will be fine."
As you begin to drift off to sleep, your phone rings again.
Unknown Caller ID
“Hello?” You answer sounding tired and irritated
“Hello again.” the voice on the other line sounded gravely and deep
“Who is this? Can I help you with something?” You tried your best to not sound exhausted but all you could muster up was a monotone response
“Yes you actually can I was wondering what’s your favorite scary movie?” As you scoff in response you hear the person slightly shuffle around waiting for a response
“Listen I really don’t have time for scam callers I extremely busy so I’d appreciate if you wouldn’t call me and ask such stupid questions” Your voice was laced with irritation and venom “If you call me again you will be blocked thank you and goodbye” As you went for the end call button you felt as if you were being watched.
“IF YOU HANG UP ON ME I’LL GOUGE YOUR INSIDES OUT AND STRING YOU UP LIKE A FUCKING PIG” You felt your heart drop looking around at the empty hospital except for the additional staff and Amber who was passed out in the waiting room where you were 5 minutes ago “Alright who the fuck are you?! Chad?! If this is you I swear to fucking god if this is a joke it’s not funny” You felt your heart skip a couple beats your breathing feeling erratic as you rush towards the waiting room “This isn’t Chad” was all you heard faintly as you reach the room where Amber was supposed to be “Amber?” You look around not seeing her anywhere a wave of panic hits you like a truck “Aw what’s wrong Y/N scared for your little friend? Answer my fucking question what’s your favorite scary movie.” You look around trying to find the nearest escape if anything goes south “Listen who ever you are I don’t want to play your fucking game where is Amber I swear to god if you hurt her” the voice laughs tone laced with amuse and anger “You’ll do what. I’ll slice you up before you could even call 911 NOW ANSWER THE FUCKING QUESTION!” As you hold the phone up to your ear you feel yourself shaking “Um I- I don’t know I can’t think right now” You take off outside which you felt was your first mistake but you needed to get out of here fuck this “Answer the question Y/N or Amber dies and I gut you like a fish” You press your car keys trying to find where you parked if you could at 3:34am pitch black was all you could see apart from the occasional car passing by on the highway across from the hospital “You know going outside by yourself is a death wish I could be right behind you and you wouldn’t know” You whip around grabbing the taser that is hooked to your car keys ‘Fuck I knew this would come in handy’ you thought to yourself as you frantically look around “Listen fucker my friends mom is the Woodsboro sheriff I have her phone number one call and your fucking over with you hear me fucking over with?!” Your voice sounded pathetic and terrified definitely not scaring anyone but yourself “Times up Y/N” You felt your heart drop ‘Times up tf does that mean’ before you could answer you felt someone grab your hair throwing you down to the cold concrete of the parking lot, as you roll yourself over you see a person in a ghost face mask bring down a knife aiming for your face before they could you bring up your hand trying to stop the attacker while kicking them in the stomach “fuck fuck fuck” was all you could get out while you try to get up and take off in a sprint not being able to see in front of you made you panic even more ‘they could be anywhere god dammit Y/N you truly are a fucking idiot’ you start to hear noises all around you realizing you don’t have your phone on you anymore cause you dropped it after you got jumped by this psycho you started to feel hopeless apart of you excepted it that you were gonna die in a parking lot alone but just as you thought things couldn’t get any worse you felt a sharp sting in your shoulder painful and warm looking up you watch as the masked psycho twists and rips the knife out of you and tries to go for another shot you scream in agony successfully shoving them away and sprinting with the hardest amount of force that could probably rival an Olympic runner you see the hospital entrance not to far away ‘please please please someone be there’ you though as you hear the masked psycho running right behind you gaining as you finally reach the entrance you see nurses and staff talking “PLEASE PLEASE FUCK SOMEONE HELP HE IS TRYING TO KILL ME” you feel yourself drift out of consciousness not before you watch as the nurses and staff rush towards you hitting the cold hard hospital floor was all you remember before blacking out.
This was never how you wanted to die… being brutally slashed up by some asshole in a ghost face mask but life had a weird way of fucking up everything ‘clear’ you felt your body jolt ‘bump it up to 10’ ‘come on Y/N come back to us’ you faintly hear the nurses shuffle around trying to bring you back from whatever state you were in ‘clear’ another jolt this time you felt yourself being ripped awake gasping for air “Hey hey listen to me do you know where you are? What’s your name can you tell us your name?” You slightly crack you eyes back open exhausted by the stab wound and the jolts of electricity that just surged through your body “Y/N and I’m at Woodsboro General Hospital” You squeaked out the response before almost drifting to sleep “Oh no no we need her awake” a different voice was heard a female mid 40s early 50s probably Wes’s mother Judy Hicks you open your eyes back up looking up at the blurry figure stalking there way into the room and telling the nurses they needed a moment “Y/N are you alright?” You rub your eyes hopefully getting rid of the blurriness which it did slightly “alright wouldn’t be the word I’d describe how I’m feeling right about now but yeah I’m fine” Your voice was bitter and your mouth was dry “did they catch the fucker?” You asked genuinely hoping that at least someone saw your assailant before they took off “unfortunately not” Judy responded “The bastard ran off before anyone could catch a glimpse said you came in screaming then blacked out covered in blood with a pretty bad stab wound to the shoulder” You scoff thinking about how fucking ridiculous all this is for a town that’s had this much tragedy you’d think there would be more security especially after what just happened to Tara “Is there anyway you could give us a description of your attacker? I understand if you don’t especially after what just happened” You sigh and fiddle with the IV drip attached to your hand “He was um wearing a ghost face mask” You felt the tone of the room shift before you look up again locking eyes with Judy “That’s what Tara said too said some asshole in a ghost face mask attacked her” your eyes widen “Tara’s awake? Since when while I was out?” You start to get up pulling out the IV from your hand and taking the heart monitor off your finger “where is she? I need the know she’s alright” you get up from the hospital bed feeling a shock of pain come from your shoulder making you stumble a little bit “Woah woah hold up Y/N lay back down you don’t need to be up” You lightly shove Mrs. Hicks out of the way rushing down the hall pushing back the throbbing pain from your shoulder to the back of your mind finally reaching the call desk “Um hi I’m looking for Tara Carpenter she was admitted recently I heard she woke up” your shoulder felt like it was on fire and the smell of metallic feels your nose “yes ma’am Tara Carpenter? She’s down the hall” you nodded and took off down the hall hearing the sound of voices get closer as you approach the room “holy shit Tara are you okay?” You walk closer to Tara taking ahold of your shoulder feeling a wet sensation you look down at your hand seeing it was covered in blood “fuck it’s fine are you alright I heard what happened” Tara’s face was in shock her eyes were locked on your bleeding shoulder and the exhausted look on your face “I’m fine luckily what about you what the fuck happened to you?” You look down thinking of how to say that you got jumped by a psycho in the parking lot cause you decided to go outside after getting threatened over the phone “long story” was all you could say to save yourself the embarrassment “Holy shit Y/N” you heard a voice come from behind you turning around you come face to face with Amber, Sam, and a tall guy who looked like the spiciest thing in his pantry was salt “Hey” you smiled lightly and nodded “Are you alright I heard what happened I was with Tara when I heard I’m sorry I wasn’t there for you.”
Amber rambled on about how she was sorry but all you could focus on was your shoulder and the guy standing in the corner of the room eyeing your every move “Y/N did you catch a glimpse of the dickhead that did this?” You turn towards Sam feeling a twinge of irritation before answering “he was in a ghost face mask I couldn’t see his face” you kept your response short and sweet to her not as interested in what she had to say on the matter Sam was always a problem for you being a straight A student one second then getting suspended the next wasn’t your ideal choice of fun but she always knew how to drag you into her bullshit one way or another but late night drives while getting high was always nice until they weren’t “the guy that attacked Tara was also in a ghost face mask too holy shit” Amber looked at me with a guilty expression or was it sadness you couldn’t tell “Who’s that?” You point over to the tall guy sitting on the hospital bed next to Sam “Richie he’s my boyfriend” you nodded and took the hand that Richie stuck out for you to shake “nice to meet you” he shakes your hand lightly but with a good grip you mumble a response back ‘nice to meet you too’ the handshake went on for what felt like forever until Amber cleared her throat making you let go of his hand and step back but you could still feel his eyes on you dismissing yourself taking a deep breath while walking back towards your hospital room ‘Richie…’ you thought to yourself he was kinda cute but after what happened you had no time to think about that who cares doesn’t matter if your six feet under with your throat slashed.
After the hospital patched your shoulder back up you got discharged they gave you a couple pain killers to at least help with the throbbing and sent you home in a police vehicle Judy said “it’s safer” and that “the police will keep you safe” so you did want you were told stay inside lock the doors and get some rest hopefully tomorrow we can catch the mother fucker you slowly drift off to sleep listening to the TV playing drowning out the flood of thoughts running thought your mind but there was something off you still felt like you were being watched but you decided to push back the feeling and actually get some sleep.

Happy Halloween! 🎃
-> Costume for all three members
-> Pumpkin for Kai & Mireya
-> Dragon for Zakari
Costume - What are they going to be for Halloween this year?
The Roppongi family looks at the question, all with different expressions on their faces.
"...Well," Kai says, starting off. "...I honestly don't know if I'll be dressing up in anything besides my 'Wolf of Shadows' attire for Halloween." He shrugs his shoulders.
"Even though Halloween falls on a Thursday, it's still one of Gypsy's Palace biggest nights for teens and young adults to come out and have a good time, which means I'll be busy DJing. So... I figure I'll just dress up as that."
"I'm of the same mind, sadly." Mireya says, agreeing with her husband.
"I mean, I'll try to find something different to wear, but... I'm afraid I'll be too busy managing the club to really worry about a costume. Like I said, I'll try to find something, but my apologies if you see me in my regular gypsy attire."
"I, uh..." Zakari starts off, rubbing the back of his head, embarrassed.
"I know it's bad to say, especially since Halloween is two weeks away, but... well, I haven't really started looking for a costume to wear. I know, I know! There's no excuse, especially since I don't have class the following day, and all my friends from school are going to various parties. Plus, I promised Lucy I'd hang out with her after class. ...To be honest, I'm kinda interested to see what she'll be wearing. "
He smirks, imagining his girlfriend in a Halloween costume. He then realizes where he is and shakes his head.
"Uhh... a-anyway, I'll definitely get to work looking for something to wear soon. I promise!"
Pumpkin - Would they want to do a couple’s costume with their significant other?
Kai and Mireya look at the question and then at each other, both with wide eyes and a bit of pink on their cheeks.
"Uhh..." Kai says, looking away while scratching the back of his head, a bit embarrassed. "I mean... if you want to, hun, it's fine with me."
"Aha, honestly, I was... going to say the same thing." Mireya laughs a bit, still embarrassed. "So, uh, what do you think we should go together as?"
"Aha, you got me. ...Want to search online together for some ideas?"
Kai holds his hand out for his wife, which she gratefully takes with a smile.
"Lead the way, mi amor."
Dragon - What is their favourite scary movie?
"My favorite scary movie?" Zakari asks, but then looks at the screen with a smirk.
"Aw man, that's a hard choice to make, cause I love horror flicks! I'm not an expert on them, but I do love watching them. Mainly, because I'm trying to find one that scares me so bad that I have to work up the courage to actually watch it! So far, I've no luck, but I'll keep searching!"
"But to answer the question, my favorite would have to be the Halloween series, starring the one and only, Michael Myers! He's my favorite scary movie icon, and I love his films. Some people say that he was a blatant rip-off of Jason Voorhees." Zakari rolls his eyes.
"Besides the fact that the first Halloween movie came out two years before Friday the 13th, the two of them aren't even mutually the same. Yeah, the way they stalk and kill their victims is similar, but there are a lot more differences involved. I'm not saying one is better than the other, but if it comes down to the two, I'm Team Michael all the way!"

Top 10 Holiday Themed Horror Movies
(In no particular order)
Any holiday goes! With the exception of one, I will be avoiding more than one film from a franchise. Because otherwise, I could just fill this list with Friday The 13th films and call it a day. But the one I am making an expectation for is self explanatory, as it's COMPLETELY different from the rest of the series.
Friday The 13th
Yes, it is holiday themed in name only, but hey, any excuse for me to watch slasher films every F13, i’m in! There’s nothing I can say about this film that I haven’t said a thousand times before. It is my favorite movie of all-time
My Bloody Valentine (OG)
Hearts ripped out & sent in heart shaped Valentines with fun poems…A killer who emerges on February 14th to kill those who have parties that day? Sign me up! This one required just a little bit of internal debate, because I thoroughly enjoy the remake as well. But I ultimately decided on the original. I am an 80s Slasher movie junkie! That being said, I love the look and feel of this film more. The spx are so fantastic that even the director threw up at the sight of one of them. That’s pretty awesome to me! I also love the authentic look of the mine (coal mining means a great deal to me). The laundromat scene is probably one of my top favorite horror movie scenes. And shoutout to “The Ballad of Harry Warden” that plays at the end, too! It’s a bop! (Gosh, am I old for using that term? lol)
Halloween III: Season Of The Witch
To me, this is the ultimate Halloween movie! It captures both the spooky, horror atmosphere as well as the commercialism of the holiday. And a bonus, the masks are modeled after classic Halloween figures.
Halloween
It’s Halloween, everyone’s entitled to one good scare! Halloween is the better movie, I just have a soft spot in my heart for III. Again, there’s nothing I could say about 1978’s Halloween that hasn’t been said before. It is probably THE holiday movie of all holiday movies.
Gremlins
As much as I love Christmas, most films I wait until December to watch. But Gremlins is one that I can watch at any time of the year, and I'm always down for it. I adore it! It captures the feel of Christmas so perfectly. Snowy landscapes, the decor, caroling Mogwai/Gremlins, kills using Christmas items, Gismo is even given as a Christmas present!
Black Christmas
This is one of the earliest Slasher movies, starring the great Margot Kidder. It takes the classic killer calling from inside the house trope and makes the most magical time of the year scary. There’s nothing I can say about this one that hasn’t been said before. It’s well worth the watch!
Silent Night, Deadly Night
Another Christmas one, because how could I not? This time, Santa is our killer. Sort of. It’s very festive and has some gory-good kills! Here’s looking at you, antler scene!
Leprechaun
The great Warrick Davis is a cunning and witty leprechaun in this one, who kills for his gold. It’s a fun St. Patrick’s Day watch each year that's full of laughs (any of the films really, but especially this one). And hey, we have to thank this movie for jumpstarting Jennifer Aniston’s career!
Trick 'r Treat
This one tells five separate but interconnected stories on Halloween night. Each spooky, and fun in their own way. But little “Sam”, a supernatural trick or treater, is the real star of the film. He‘s there to enforce the “rules of Halloween” with his candy themed weapons! He’s oddly adorable.
Happy Death Day
Groundhogs Day…but on your Birthday? What a wonderful idea! Add in being killed over and over again on your special day. What a wild concept.
Honorable Mention: My Bloody Valentine (Remake), Thankskilling, Valentine, Jack Frost, Krampus, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Jaws - those two totally count in my mind lol

I will now infodump completely random self indulgent thoughts about Halloween and Friday the 13th that i otherwise would have no other opportunity to voice, because I want these thoughts out of my head and into words.
releasing pent up energy lmao
So, Halloween:
I rewatched this for the third time on the 13th because I am a dirty, filthy cheater. The goal was to get extremely high and watch one of the Friday the 13ths (F13 for short) but at around midnight my heart had a very specific craving that only Michael Myers could satisfy.
As I watched it, I recalled how I felt the first time I watched the film a year ago. I had a lot of thoughts then that still hold up to how I feel now, now that its my special interest.
First of all, in 2021 I attempted to get into the slasher genre but I was too weenie to venture very far. I watched the first Halloween and thats it.
And, when I watched it, I distinctively felt unimpressed with the first two acts. It wasn't not entertaining, but I remember being like "I dunno, this is fun and all but it isn't that scary?"
Even some of the first kills, like Judith barely being aimed at, with people's eyes going cross-eyed- it's kind of goofy.
but then
Very subtly, about an hour into the movie, by the start of the final act... something shifts.
When Laurie gets off the phone and walks over to the Wallace house and finds the bodies, from that point to the end I was completely enraptured. The tension mounts and mounts and mounts, and by the time the credits roll I only just realize how hard my heart is racing. In fanfiction terms, i let out a breath I didnt know I was holding. (except, like, actually tho)
and I had the exact same experience when I watched the movie again a few days ago, foolishly thinking Im long past being afraid of silly ole Mikey.
that must be, I feel, why the first Halloween is so spectacularly iconic.
I also remember my jaw dropping at the unmasking moment. It was when you realize- he's not really old, he's not physically deformed or anything like that- hes just a guy. He's practically just a kid himself. (When Loomis says hes 21 in the sequel I even yelled out "HES ONLY 21?!?" even though you can do the math yourself while watching the first movie lmao. in my defense, I watched that a year later, so I forgot how young he was) He almost looks afraid once the mask comes off. He's exposed, in every sense.
that scene really blew my mind.
but, Ive mentioned this before, these films didnt hit Special Interest status until I watched the second one for the first time this past october. I think it was the upped action in the sequel that pushed it over the edge into adoration territory for me.
I really love each timeline the films go through (well, for the most part) for different reasons. They all scratch different itches. And they give my imagination so much to work with. Fanfictions too, its really interesting seeing which interpretations of the characters people decide to expand upon. My favorite is the new Green trilogy (yes, even with some issues I have with Kills. and I unabashedly love Ends) and the Jamie Lloyd trilogy is in 2nd place.
Then, also this year, I had a proposition for my friends. Two friends. We call ourselves Movie Club. Every other sunday or so, we watch something over Discord. Our choices of movies are always incredibly random.
This past October, I was like, "hey, how about we watch some horror movies? I have a whole list I am trying to get through"
and on that list was Friday the 13th. I didn't know anything about it. I barely remembered Jason was the slasher of the franchise until my friends refreshed my memory. 1 friend had already seen it and said that it would be perfect for Movie Club.
And so, we watched it.
First of all, it was everything I wanted it to be when it comes to campy horror. With the screaming teens fumbling over themselves and all.
Second of all, I was SHOCKED. so was my friend who also went in blind. I don't even want to mention why. I am not going to. If all you know is Jason slashing away at teenagers in the woods, then you know just as much as I did, and you should absolutely give it a watch. You know less than you assume.
In fact, I'd go so far as to say that the very first Friday the 13th movie has much more exciting surprises now than it did when it was released.
We, as a Movie Club, said "oh my god. Well, now we have to watch the second one." (by that point, we were all going in blind)
So we did.
it STILL SHOCKED US.
We said "well fuck, we have to watch the third one now"
So we did.
And by then, we were in too deep, we simply had to know how exactly the franchise transitions from that to future titles like "Jason Takes Manhattan." We had to know how he goes to space, and we had to know how he fights Freddy. We were in it for the long haul.
So we watched them all together, and Jason cemented his place in my heart. One day this special interest will pass, but those memories with my friends will be forever.
And now with the new series being made by Bryan Fuller? I dont think we were even halfway through the series before my friend dropped that news, and I was immediately like "oh FUCK yes."
I never drew tons of fanart or anything, but I AM a reasonably large Hannibal fan. and I know how beloved Bryan Fuller is, I love the dude too. I love that he stands up for fangirldom. It's a breath of fresh air.
Ive been following any press he's been releasing for Crystal Lake and I am so fucking immensely excited for it, I have already ranted incessantly about it to two unsuspecting friends of mine. From those interviews, he and I seem to be on the exact same page when it comes to what we find important about the F13 series. Yes, it's really goofy, but there's also a certain heart and tragedy to it, and he seems dedicated to making sure that shines in his series.
I'm so excited about this series that Jason doesnt even have to be in it and I'd probably still love it. (Except he will be in it lmao im just saying)
And now, I am still watching new slasher films. I am almost done watching all the Nightmare on Elm Streets. They're fun, but they dont do it for me quite like Halloween and F13 have. (I'm still glad I'm watching them tho. I must say, Wes Craven's New Nightmare was incredible) Next up i'll probably watch some one-offs before diving into the Texas Chainsaw Massacre films. I have a feeling I will love Bubba once I meet him. I hope so! I want to love more slashers like I love Michael and Jason. We will see tho.
I think thats it for my ramblings. for now.

Some thoughts on Friday the 13th 2009
Guess that title will do or so. I was joking with @lovezdarestevez4ever about something and got distracted from not making this. This isn’t really a review. But some points from me on how I feel about the film.
I don’t really hate the 2009 reimagining of the series. And that’s due to a couple of reasons.
1. It’s literally the same as the earlier films. Compared to something like Halloween 2007 or Elm Street 2010, I don’t know. It’s more like the fact it feels like it’s part of the same series despite some things that separate it. It almost feels like a “Legacy” sequel but it’s not.
It’s technically akin to something like Batman 1989 where the origin isn’t a full focal point. But it strangely leads into something. Weird comparison, it’s more like, “Let’s kind of skip the origin and just show it really quick” kind of shit.
2. The idea to use elements from the first four films is actually a fucking genius idea. Because you’re practically blending in what are basically considered possibly the best films or so and combine into one story without having to make more than one film.
Even though I genuinely wouldn’t mind a legitimate remake of the first film. But I keep thinking general audiences just want to see Jason.
3. The portrayal of Jason is still my favorite of all the actors. Even though I like them all. But Derek Mears is the kind of Jason I love. And honestly, I see this as a Jason film mainly because of the number of times he shows up.
4. Trent’s entire character. This may sound strange, but holy crap. Even though he’s not a favorite of mine. But he’s such a cartoonish douchebag that it downright amuses me with his fucking dialogue being so insane. That you’re in shock with how fucking douchey he is because Travis Van Winkle plays him so well. He’s strangely meme material.
WeWatchedAMovie’s review of the film where they talk about Trent, they explain it perfectly in the most humorous way. And there’s a scene and from that review, I hear that Michael Bay himself walked out halfway through the movie because there was...too many tities. I question this, like, did he actually say that somewhere?
5. I will admit, I actually like the score from Steve Jablonsky. Even if I still prefer Harry Manfredini’s scores.
-
Now on to the more negative stuff that...brings the film down.
1. The fact it’s the same as the earlier films...it’s kind of nothing special. Yet it’s special in a way where I don’t feel bothered by it like Halloween 2007 or Elm Street 2010. But the fact it’s kind of...somewhat nothing special brings it down. And this goes into the next thing I want to talk about.
2. The idea to use elements from the first four films is still genius. But the way the writers did it just wasn’t for me. The best way I could describe the film is how my good buddy @lovezdarestevez4ever said in her review of the film.
The film is practically a “CliffNotes” version of Friday the 13th from writers who watched the older films without paying attention to why certain elements worked. And honestly, considering I have a little problem with the writers...I agree. This is her review right here. https://at.tumblr.com/lovezdarestevez4ever/i-watched-friday-the-13th-2009-and-it-was/opxnm29hwwis
Because to me, the elements don’t blend naturally. Or they don’t use these elements in a more meaningful way. You know how like in comic book films they take elements from different stories and try to blend them in the best story possible to adapt? It’s a weird comparison. It’s just I think if Filmento ever did a video on Friday the 13th 2009, and I have thought about this before. He would point out stuff that feels like it wasn’t thought more about or whatever.
I again, think blending in those elements is a cool idea because in a strange way. I could see the first three films as a 277-minute-long film. I actually used my computer’s calculator to look that shit up. Yet this likely counts the beginning and end credits for all three films.
The point being is that considering this was directed by the guy who directed the 2003 Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake. I feel like they could’ve done more with those elements and did something new with them or build upon them. I strangely wished that the write for that remake came back for this instead of the writers from Freddy vs Jason. But that depends on what Scott Kosar would’ve done, or maybe another writer.
I do appreciate the decision to go back to the “Grittier” route of the earlier FT13th films. That was something needed after the last few films.
3. And the characters, and listen, I get a lot of FT13th characters aren’t much to write home about. But I agree with my friend that they are more like...parodies in a sense. Where in the originals, the characters seem more casual despite a lot being service level. And while I think Clay is one of the better protagonists of the series, the other characters are hit and miss. Despite a lot of them get a lot of brutal kills as usual.
There’s also the fact the storyline with Jason and Whitney couldn’t been dealt with so much better. Because that is something I REALLY like, but it’s not built upon more or something.
I should just finish the post. The 2009 reboot is basically a modernized version of part 3, but without the 3D. And you get elements from parts 1, 2, and 4. It seems weird that I use part 3 as an example. Mainly because part 3 feels like the most “Random” or “Disconnected” because NO ONE besides Chris knows of Jason in that film. And they never say his name.

"I never said it was good," he defended with a smile. "It's my summer movie. What says summer more than sweaty people in Texas getting killed? Well, I guess Friday the 13th, actually... But still." Finishing up his cigarette, he tossed it on the ground before smashing it under his shoe. Even though she was actively hating on his favorite summer horror watch, he couldn't help but smile more and more as she spoke. Anyone that even knew horror in the slightest got on his good side right away. It was truly that easy (but also just as easy to get on his bad side). "See, all of those are great movies. Just not a summer movie. I mean, c'mon, The Thing is obviously a winter movie. Hell, it's practically my Christmas movie." He had a feeling this woman would soon surely regret speaking to him about all of this. It was one of the rare times Connor wouldn't shut the hell up. "I like the original The Ring movie, the Japanese film. But I also have this thing where, no matter how awful, I will somehow always like a horror movie. It's my gift and curse. I guess that makes me no better than those marvel fans coming to see the same movie every summer."
"Really?" Pearl laughed. "You like Texas Chainsaw Massacre that much, huh? I mean, obviously the remakes are garbage, but as far as cult horrors go, I never thought the original was that great either. Well —" She held up a hand, amending her statement, "Okay, I will say every time I've seen it it cracks me up, so in that sense, yeah, fantastic, like, if you're going for laughs. But there's like, so many better ones, come on. Re-animator? Hellraiser? The Thing? You know what I will give you, though," she said, pointing a finger at him, "Texas Chainsaw Massacre is way better than The Ring. Never understood why people are so up in arms over that movie, it had me rolling when Samara climbs out of that fucking TV."

There’s a man with no life in his eyes
𝗣𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴: Gareth Emerson x Fem! Horror lover!Reader
𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆: you and you’re boyfriend Gareth have a movie date at the theater to see Friday the 13th part 5
𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀: mentions of gore, a few cuss words, mentions of nudity, slight Bisexual hints, mentions reader’s gay awakening
𝗣𝗢𝗩: first person- Y/n
ꕥꕥꕥ
𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝟭𝟵𝟴𝟱, 𝟳:𝟰𝟱 𝗽𝗺
“231, 232, 233, 23- ah ha, 234 and 235 my lady” Gareth said as he found our seats.
The both of us currently at the cinema that was built inside the star court mall, both excited to see the newest Friday the 13th film that released a few days ago.
Funny thing is, before me and Gareth got together, he never put on Horror films when we would hang out or have movie nights cause he took me as a “normal” girl, and most girls are scared of films like that and don’t wanna watch them. Not me though.
I’ll never forget Gareth’s face when I told him I loved horror movies, that it was my favorite genre of movies and I loved the Friday films.
After that we started seeing all the newest and best horror movies that released together.
As usual, another year in the 80s passed by meaning another Friday the 13th was coming out. Technically it wasn’t supposed keep going and last years Friday the 13th was supposed to be the final installment of the franchise, which I’m glad they have decided to keep it going.
𝟴:𝟮𝟬 𝗽𝗺
“So I’m here to help. You can count on me, Rob. You too, Vi. Want a chocolate bar? I’ll give you half, but I need half for later”
“Piss off”
Damn. She’s hot.
“You like that girl?” Gareth whispered to me, trying not to be loud in the theater.
“Huh?”
“Babe, I see you staring at that Violet girl every time she pops up on the screen”
I just shake my head playfully and look back at the screen.
𝟴:𝟯𝟬 𝗽𝗺
“It’s showtime!”
I quickly take my hand and cover Gareth eyes. The blonde haired diner waitress flashing her tits on screen as she starts changing out of her works clothes.
The shot quickly changing and I uncovered his eyes.
“Was that really necessary?”
“Yes, yes it was”
𝟴:𝟰𝟱 𝗽𝗺
I didn’t even cover his eyes this time, too shocked myself of what’s happening in front of me.
Did a porn star or porn director do this film? So much nudity, more than usual.
Two of the characters, on a blanket, in the woods, fucking. And it’s showing it.
“Hey can we do that the next time we go out to the woods?” Gareth asked with a smirk on his face.
I playfully hit his arm and rolled my eyes.
𝟵:𝟬𝟯 𝗽𝗺
There she is again, this time swaying her hips to the music that played in her room.
“Can it wait?” She said, continuing to sway her hips.
“You know I don’t blame you, she does remind me slight of you a bit” Gareth said quietly to me.
“Me? How?” I asked
He just shrugged his shoulders and took a sip of his drink.
𝟵:𝟬𝟱 𝗽𝗺
I wasn’t even looking at the screen, I was just glaring my eyes at Gareth as I watched him.
Another pair of titties on the screen.
He slowly turned his towards me, a smirk slowly rising on his lips.
“Don’t worry Y/n, yours are better than hers anyways”
“Oh my god Gareth shut the fuck up” I said with a giggle.
𝟵:𝟬𝟴 𝗽𝗺
♫ there’s a man with no life in his eyes…
Well damn. She died.
“That was a boring kill, it looked like he stabbed a pillow, probably did” Gareth said, annoyance in his voice.
Can you tell when it came to kills he was very serious on how stuff happened and when it happened? Basically the kill expert, this boy is.
𝟵:𝟮𝟯 𝗽𝗺
“What? Oh that’s so stupid!” Gareth said standing up and saying a little too loudly.
Jason ended up not even being Jason, instead being the paramedic from the beginning of the movies, the first victim being his son so he came for revenge.
𝟵:𝟯𝟯 𝗽𝗺
“That was stupid, hopefully the next one is actually Jason” Gareth complained as we walked out of the theater and out of a the mall doors.
“Really that’s what your worried about? I’m more interested in who’s idea it was to have so much nudity in this one”
He just chuckled and kissed my cheek.
Fingers crossed the next one has less tits so I don’t have to cover his eyes.
ꕥꕥꕥ
𝗔/𝗡: I absolutely love this movie, It gets a lot of hate but it’s honestly my favorite Friday film. And yes, I had to add in the gay awakening for Violet bc she was one of mine so I had to add it in. And yes this film was actually directed by someone who directed porn, watch this film at your own risk! I might make this into a series too, basically you and Gareth going to go see different movies together and how it goes!

You are the horror movie expert that came to mind, would you help me with slasher/horror movie recommendations for someone who hasn't seen slashers but wants to get started?
I'm ready.
So the slasher genre as a whole is huge, and populated by long running properties plus individual films. What you watch depends a lot on what you want from the experience.
In terms of "proto-slashers" (movies that were that served to inspire the genre but were not quite slashers), Texas Chainsaw Massacre is without question the greatest. Frankly it's better than most movies, full stop, and to my mind remains one of the most disturbing horror experiences of all time. Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 is also a fantastical bonkers movie and also not a slasher.
Now, the first true slasher would be Halloween, but the story is really concluded in Halloween 2, so you may want to do a double feature. Halloween is widely hailed as a masterpiece of horror and suspense, but I have to confess I'm four watches in and I don't get it. Your mileage may vary - even non-horror fans seem to agree it's an excellent movie, and being probably the first real slasher it should be watched for at least historical value. Nightmare on Elm Street is similarly praised (and a more interesting movie to my eyes), so you may also want to watch it as a foundational film.
Both of the above spawned long, long, too long running franchises, and the three kings of slashers are rounded out with Jason (Friday the 13th). That said, there's a reason no one considers Friday the 13th a masterpiece of anything except Tom Savini's gore effects (which actually hold up 40 years later). While Halloween and Nightmare on Elm Street have legitimate critical value, Friday the 13th is more in the region of something you would watch more for completeness' sake, but this brings us to the wide world of the franchises.
I've spoken about it before, but to my mind the Child's Play / Chucky series is set apart as the best overall quality franchise, pound for pound. I've gone into it in lengthy detail so I'll hold off for now and only say it's exceptional work (including the TV series) with only one real loser (part 3 [yes I also liked the reboot version]), and it's the queerest slasher franchise.
So for most of the 80s the big three and a variety of smaller competing franchises (Chucky, Maniac Cop, Sleepaway Camp, etc) dominated the screen. Come the 90s, Scream was the game changing self-aware metahorror that launched another dozen competing new franchises. That said, none of them are what you'd call a hidden gem. My personal feeling is that Scream was very effective around the era of its release but is such a product of its time that it becomes decreasingly less interesting every year. That said, I'm in the minority and there's no denying Kevin Williamson writes some snappy dialog.
Once we get past the 90s, it's less easy to see the forest for the trees and I'm hard pressed to note any few films as especially iconic for their time. So here's some other stuff from the genre I just think is interesting or good.
In the meta realm, my favorites are probably The Final Girls, Behind the Mask, and Jason X. Behind the Mask is particularly interesting insofar as it literally narrates many of the genre defining tropes for you.
Some unique takes on the genre are Final Girl (a woman who has been raised from a small child to hunt and kill slashers), The Furies (women are kidnapped into a game of survival where they have to survive a group of slashers but protect the one assigned to them), Vicious Fun which I also talked about at length, and my favorite Happy Death Day (Groundhog Day crossed with a slasher where the First Girl has to solve her own murder).
Dishonorable mention goes to Cabin in the Woods which tries to apply the slasher tropes to every single horror movie.

J2 Main Panel Charlotte Con 2021
Another great one! More flirting, totally necessary touching, the beautiful return of the boys not knowing the meaning of personal space. Pay close attention cause it's subtle but you can see them slowly move closer and closer as the panel goes on.
They did the jump! That fills my heart with joy, I had missed them doing the jump at the beginning of the panels.
Right away of course there is some totally necessary touching of Jensen 😉
The first question was what their perfect Heaven would be, Jared replies that his perfect Heaven would be to be surrounded by friends, family, and loved ones somewhere in the mountains free to love and support whoever around him. Now y'all can interpret this however you want but I will helpfully point out that the man sitting next to him wrote a song about wanting to run off to the mountains with their lover so they could be free, you do with that information what you please ☕
And Jensen said his perfect heaven would be a water park with a wave pool.
A fan got kind of flustered talking to Jensen and Jared went "he's handsome isn't he?"
A male fan said he had never been so weak in the knees to talk to another man as how he felt talking to them, understandable dude. His question was fav epi. Jensen answers that for him it's more about moments and we get some more barn scene love from him, he says the barn scene is one of his favorites ❤ And for Jared he said if the Pilot and finale could be played as one that would be his favorite, and he also mentions French Mistake x
Jensen was asked about the meaning of Dead to Rights, one of the songs from his second album but he has no idea what it means cause Steve was the one who wrote most of it so Steve is the one who can answer that question.
In a funny moment a fan asked Jared if he felt any jealousy over Jensen getting the Impala. Yeah, they didn't know Jared got one too, but Jared told them 😂
A fan thanked Jared for his interpretation on love during Denvercon. I hope this person finds a 20 on the ground, I hope they only get green lights, I hope there's never a line when they have to pay- they're a real one 🙌
They were asked about how they felt about their roles in My Bloody Valentine and Friday the 13th. Jared said that summer was a strange year because it was when the writers strike happened, and he mentions it being hot cause he was filming this movie in Austin which is now his and Jensen's home (btdubz let me be extra clear, pointing out that Austin is the place he and Jensen call home is not an addition by me that was all Jared), and then he goes into the story about how him, Jensen and Kerr went to see My Bloody Valentine together; I love how before Jared starts telling the story Jensen is already smiling and at the end he has kind of a fond smile as he says that he remembers that moment 🥰
What Jensen remembers mostly is the exhaustion of going back to back on filming. The fan tells him he didn't look it, that he looked amazing in the movie and Jared agrees saying true dat x
They were asked if anything was ever added to John's journal or if the prop was always the same. The original journal the one that was used in the Pilot went "missing" (stolen) before they shot Wendigo so it had to be recreated as best as possible but there were blank pages that over the years would get filled in if there was new lore and it was to appear on camera, and the boys since they spend so many hours of filming with the journal... they would doodle and write on it um less than appropriate things 😂
There was a fan who is interested in pursuing acting and she wanted advice on what steps they think she should take and what things they have done that they think have helped them in their careers, and I want to focus specifically on Jared's answer because some people in this fandom who had nothing else to grasp tried to twist it earlier today and act like he said something bad. What he said, and I'm paraphrasing but there's a time stamp, is that the more you learn who you are the better an actor you'll become, that there's thousands of actors who could have played Sam, Dean, C, John, etc and could have done a great job but it would have been a different character, to bring as much you as possible into every character you play cause a lot of people can read dialogue and show up on time. x
They tease the Applebees song but they didn't sing it. However, Jared- I can't with this boy, he says that earlier Jensen gave him a look that he knew meant that he was gonna do this whether he liked it or not, are you familiar with Jensen giving you those types of looks Jared? 😏 So they're gonna figure something out and give us some content.
Without hesitation, he didn't even let the fan finish asking the question, Jensen says he would re-do Bugs. Because they shot it with actual bees, which was pointless because the bees were too small to be seen properly on camera so they had to be added via virtual effects anyway, and before they shot the episode they had to be tested to see if they were allergic to bee stings so they had to get stung by an actual bee. So they'd do it again because this time they wouldn't have to deal with the bees. x
Jensen shared a fan experience he had last year, he was in the grocery story when he hears someone call out the name Sam in his direction and doesn't think anything of it until he hears 'Sam Winchester'. The fan got him confused for Jared, according to Jensen the fan did seem to realize the mix up but Jensen did not correct them he ran with it 😂
When answering one of the questions, Jared mentions that what Sam was going through in Sacrifice is similar to what he was going through at the time with feeling like a burden 😭
Asked if Supernatural prepared them for their future roles (specifically Batman and Walker), Jared once again brought up that he borrows from Dean for his portrayal of Walker and mentions once again how seeing Jensen wear multiple hats influenced him and prepped him for now on Walker where he wears multiple hats as actor and producer ❤
To wrap up the panel, the last question is if Sam and Dean could be placed in any classic horror film and fight any classic horror villain what would they be? He knows it's not a Horror movie but Jared mentions The Goonies because he'd always wanted to be in it. Jensen says Michael Myers from the Halloween franchise cause he walks so slow it'd be easy to defeat him. And he asked the fan what horror monster/villain she would send Sam and Dean after and she said Freddy Krueger which in my opinion is a great answer. Side note: this fan was wearing a purple dog shirt, which is so cool. x
There was also a mini j2 side hug, and fist bump at the end.
And that was the main panel! It was really good, if you wish to see it in its entirety which I reccomend you can do so in the link below.

Hi Remus! So I’m a little bit of a horror fan, but I wanted to take the time to really explore it, plus all its sub genres. And I was wondering if you had any recommendations for new, beginning fans? Like movies, books, podcasts, etc. I’m not really picky about the form of media.
dude when i tell you i got SO excited about this ask ok-
When I first started getting really into horror, I just kind of watched whatever I could find on Netflix or Hulu (which has a better collection of horror films than any other reputable streaming service, by the by, unless we’re counting my beloved effedupmovies.com as reputable). That said, I’ve never been picky with horror and I like literally anything with a slightly scary theme, so taking my accumulated knowledge, I’ve compiled some recommendations of genres and movies to look into. They’re organized by what aspect of horror- a beautifully diverse and broad genre!!- one might be interested in.
Interested in having fun and seeing some violence but not getting too scared, just enjoying the vibes of a horror movie?
genres to try: slashers, teen-screams, horror-comedy, thriller.
movie recs: Scream, Cabin in the Woods, Freaky, Jennifer's Body, Willy's Wonderland, Tucker and Dale v.s. Evil, the Final Destination series, The Babysitter, Friday the 13th, and the Evil Dead franchise!
Interested in getting genuinely freaked out or even scared?
genres to try: found footage, psychological horror, maybe supernatural horror.
movie recs: Creep & Creep 2, It Follows, Spree, Blair Witch, The Autopsy of Jane Doe, The Lodge (2019), As Above So Below, Oculus, The Descent, and No Through Road (short film).
Something thought-provoking that uses horror to evoke emotion or express a message?
genres to try: psychological horror, (some) horror-fantasy, dark comedy/satirical horror.
movie recs: Us, Get Out, Pan's Labyrinth, Before I Wake, Promising Young Woman, The Babadook, Oldboy (2003), Possessor, Ma, Train to Busan, Teeth, and American Psycho.
Do you really just want to see some gore?
genres to try: slashers, "torture porn”, splatter films.
movie recs: Hellraiser, Terrifier, House of 1,000 Corpses, Wyrmwood, Would You Rather, the Saw franchise (for the most part), and Repo.
And lastly, do you want to push yourself just to see something incredibly fucked up for like no reason?
Now we get into my favorite part!
genres: Exploitation horror, splatter, new french extremity.
movie recs (from least to most intense by my personal opinion): Nekromantik, Se7en, Tusk, The Poughkeepsie Tapes, A Serbian Film, Cannibal Holocaust, Slaughtered Vomit Dolls (& ReGOREgitated Sacrifice & Slow Torture Puke Chamber, its sequels), and Martyrs (2008).
There’s definitely plenty I missed in this list, though, especially considering it only touches on film, so if you want more elaboration on one of these categories, genres, or even movies in particular, feel free to dm me about it!
#thank you SO much for asking btw <333#loved making this list#all of these movies I have personally seen and can personally recommend#i mean some of them i have incredibly mixed feelings about but. ah well.#horror#horror movies#ask#gore ment#death ment#cursing

-soft halloween movie night mihyun just because uwu-
“Come on, Dahyun. It’ll be fun!”
For as long as she can remember, Mina has always been able to rope Dahyun into just about anything with those words. When they were kids, Mina could tell that Dahyun was a little more frightful than she. However, that never stopped her from trying to get her to try out some new experiences. When an invite to their first college party arrived, Dahyun needed a little more encouragement from Mina, but eventually agreed. When a job application she had sent came back positively, Dahyun was terrified of being interviewed, but Mina managed to sway her opinion and get her to attend. She ended up getting the job with ease, and Mina was so very proud of her.
The same could be said with their relationship. Dahyun had been so nervous about making the jump from strictly friends to dating. Worried about whether or not their friendship would survive if they realized being a couple wasn’t going to work out. But, Mina assured Dahyun that there’s no one else on this Earth that she wants to spend her days with. From there on, they’ve become inseparable, and their friendship is still their favorite thing about being together.
Halloween, however, is where Dahyun draws the line. The holiday has never been interesting to her. Frightening either yourself or others is not something that Dahyun wishes to partake in. But, Mina adores the spookiest night of the year, in fact; it’s her favorite holiday. But whilst she appreciates the pumpkin carving, poorly made costumes, and abundance of candy. Her favorite tradition is binge-watching horror films.
Thus, Mina has landed herself on their couch with several blankets thrown over her body. Mountains of snacks lined up on the coffee table, wine glasses filled to the brim, and the television waiting to play the first Friday the 13th film. Dahyun detests the genre of gore, spookiness, and worst of all ghosts. She always has. But that doesn’t stop Mina from trying every single year to get Dahyun to watch along with her.
“Please! I got your favorite snacks, come on!” Mina whines, motioning toward the table. If all else fails, there’s a sure-fire way to get Dahyun to agree and it’s by catering to her grumbling stomach.
Dahyun’s eyes flicker from the snacks to Mina’s pleading face looking up at her. It’s moments like these that Dahyun realizes just how much she’s fallen for her and how dangerous that pleading face could one day be if Mina decided to try and turn them into a couple of bank robbers.
“I wanna watch all of the Friday the 13th films, but not the remakes. They’re awful.” Mina states though Dahyun doesn’t process her words, too busy focusing on her face.
Grabbing some of the snacks off the table, Mina wraps her arms around Dahyun’s waist and pulls her down to sit beside her, offering her cheek a quick peck before hitting play on the remote. Dahyun does her best to pay attention to the movie, but her stomach comes before Jason Voorhees and his hockey mask.
“Hey, chew your food! You’re going to choke if you keep throwing them in your mouth like that.” Mina jokes, lightly tickling Dahyun’s side as she slows her chewing to a stop.
“You know that I don’t like this sort of thing, Mina. Let me eat my snacks and pretend to watch in peace.”
“Fine.”
The first ten minutes of the movie is a blur to Dahyun. She tries her best to concentrate and participate in the movie marathon for Mina’s sake. But that isn’t easy when every second she’s expecting someone to jump out in front of the camera and scare the living daylights out of her. However, she continues watching and sinks farther into her seat, becoming more comfortable and relaxed. Though, that could be because Mina is holding her hand and stroking it gently with her thumb.
There are only a few jumpscares thankfully, but it isn’t as scary as she had assumed it would be by the time the credits roll. However, Mina takes notice of how the blanket Dahyun originally had positioned over her legs halfway through the movie ended up by her chin towards the end. Her eyes remain on Dahyun for a few seconds too long as Dahyun turns toward her to see why she hadn’t hit play on the next film yet.
The curve of her lips up into a smile is enough to make Mina wonder just how lucky she got to have Dahyun, and how she may just be the death of her too.
“Are we still watching this or no?” Dahyun asks, smirk still placed on her lips but her voice barely a whisper.
“Oh.. um, yes. Sorry!” Mina quickly presses play but shifts in her seat a few inches closer toward Dahyun wishing to remain within her warmth.
The second movie flies by, it helps that the wine is flowing very easily between them. Dahyun isn’t sure why she refused to pay attention previously, just very aware of how Mina’s head has dropped to rest softly on her shoulder and how her hand is lazily holding the remote atop her thigh. She tries her best to remain as still as possible. However, her breathing becomes unsteady as she tries to hold it so as not to disturb Mina, which instead is what causes Mina to be disturbed.
“Why aren’t you breathing?” Mina asks, moving her head and hand away. Dahyun immediately misses the contact between them and holds out her arms for Mina to return to cuddling her.
“I was… I just... I was.” Dahyun stutters. Mina looks at her curiously but moves back into position, wrapping her arms around her waist tightly.
The third movie doesn’t interest Dahyun nearly as much. Somewhere, in the beginning, Mina dozes off and her light snoring is the only sound Dahyun has any interest in focusing on. Mina has never been one to handle her alcohol well, usually resulting in her crashing a lot earlier than anyone else. But, she always looks at peace when she sleeps.
Dahyun watches as Mina’s chest rises and falls beneath the blanket, how her hands twitch every few seconds to keep a light grip on the remote, and how her hair has fallen across her face. The movie continues to play in the background as Jason stalks toward yet another kill, but Dahyun doesn’t care.
“You’re so beautiful.” She whispers.
Pushing herself up from the sofa to grab the remote from Mina’s hand, Dahyun turns off the movie and places the remote back down on the table still hidden by leftover snacks. She pulls the blanket up a little higher and makes sure every part of Mina is covered as the nights have gotten far colder lately. If she hadn’t taken part in drinking also, she may have considered carrying Mina up the stairs to their bedroom, but the fear of dropping her halfway up them puts Dahyun off the idea.
Leaning down and pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead, Dahyun stands once more to double-check their doors are locked, grabbing her own blanket as she passes and lays down beside Mina as close as she can possibly get. Her legs dangling over the side of the sofa, but it is still somehow comfortable just from being beside Mina like this.
When Mina’s eyes flutter open and it’s clear Dahyun is still in the dreamworld, Mina quickly offers her those same forehead kisses in return and hopes that her dreams are only of the two of them, and not at all of the frights and hockey masks. She curls herself closer into Dahyun and falls back into her own peaceful sleep, happy to have convinced Dahyun to participate in her favorite tradition.

Mikey x Fem! reader ch: 6
(Y/N)'s P.O.V
After my mom had a crazy conversation with me about where I was, I ended up lying that I was staying over at a friend's house. She told me not to go unless I get permission. Great. It's a good thing she didn't ground me. And I'm also glad she didn't call the cops for a crazy search. Despite that, I still couldn't believe that the Turtles existed, and they were nice to me. Mikey, Leo, Donnie, even the hot headed Raph never made fun of me. Not even a chuckle at my face either. They may not be human, but in their nature, I can tell they seem so lonely that they wish they could blend in human society but they have no choice but to stay down there. School started to bore me. I was finally given an assignment but it was for chemistry. I hate chemistry next to Algebra. My friends asked me if I could go out with them, but I declined because I already made plans to meet up with Mikey yet I never told them about the turtles themselves. Nightfall came, and I went down to the sewers, and the turtles were doing their thing. Leo was cleaning his weapons, Donnie fixing some broken drone, Raph busy doing heavy lifting, and Mikey, well...I can hear the TV from afar. Leo sees me, and smiles a bit. "Hey you. Mikey is uh....playing your games you left behind. He's been hooked up on them for hours. He didn't sleep at all." I nodded and went to go see him. Mikey was playing Mario Kart and didn't notice I was there in his own room. His eyes were glued to the screen. "Aw yeah! First place! Woo! That was intense!" He then turns around and sees me standing there awkwardly. He gasps dropping the game controller and immediately gets up as he hugs me tightly. The hug itself was so tight in fact, I couldn't even breath. "(Y/N)! I missed you for hours! I thought you'd never come, But here you are! I'm so happy! You can tell by the look on my face!" I gasped for air from almost being suffocated to death from a big bear hug and looked at him. He had a big smile that tells me he's very excited to see me like a child when they see their favorite family member coming over for the day while the parents are going out to do stuff. He gently put me down, and we both sat on the couch. "So! Anything new?" He said as he took a sip of his orange crush soda and I took out my assignment. "Yeah. I have a chemistry paper to fill out, it's kinda complicated, and I was wondering if you could help me." Mikey chuckled and responded. "I don't do that weird sciency stuff. But Donnie would be happy to help you out though." He shouts out to his brother who is still working on the drone. "Hey Donnie! Could you help (Y/N) with her chemistry homework? She's stuck on it!" Donnie shouts back. "Uhhh. Yeah sure. Just leave the paper on the side of my desk, and I'll help but I gotta fix this drone real quick. alright?" Mikey smiles and shouts once more. "Thanks dude appreciate it!" I smiled as I went to put the paper by Donnie. I came back and thanked Mikey for it. "And you are welcome my lady. Do you want anything? Pizza? Orange crush?" I nodded and grabbed an orange crush from him. "Thank you." He stared at me as I took a few sips. I noticed when I stopped and he looked away blushing. I looked at him concerned. "You alright?" He looks at me and smiles. "Y-yeah. I'm all good. You wanna watch a movie later?" I nodded and Donnie finally finished fixing his drone. "Okay. Finally Done. Now. You said you have some chemistry for me?" I nodded and showed him what the paper is about. He helped me with a few questions that I didn't quite understand since he is a nerd afterall, and I managed to finish right on time because Mikey took out some old VHS tapes. "Okay. We have Lady and the Tramp, Tarzan, Bambi, Titanic, Cujo, Rambo, Rocky, Misery, Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory, The fly, lord of the rings, Friday the 13th, And Star Wars." I looked at the selection of films and I ended up picking Bambi. He turns on the tv, and slides the VHS tape in. We sat down and we watched as we ate pizza. Raph walks in during the previews and smirks shaking his head. "Watching some little kids film I see?" Mikey looks at him squinting his eyes at him. "Come on bro. Nobody's too old for cartoons." Raph sits down next to us and decides to join. He watches the previews and rolls his eyes. "Ugh.....baby stuff" Mikey shushes him. "Quite Raph! It's starting!" The movie finally started, and Mikey was intrigued and so full of curiosity. He's like curious George but is a turtle instead of a monkey. We were then an hour into the movie Raph doesn't seem entertained at all. I can tell he isn't the kind of guy who likes Disney films. Only the more realistic Types. Mikey looks at me and smiles. "Are you enjoying the film sugar plum?" I smiled but I always wondered. What is with all the nicknames he keeps calling me? I guess they're just compliments in being kind. As the movie ends, Raph gets up and leaves. "Well that was stupid. Ima go do my daily lifting." Mikey turns off the television, and starts talking. "That was fun. What do you wanna do next (Y/N)?" I take out a drawing book with some pencils and markers. "Wanna draw?" Mikey smiles at me gleefully. "Sure!" I gave him a piece of paper and a pencil and ended up drawing. He does look at my paper from time to time, but it didn't seem to bother me at all. After we finished, I showed him my drawing. It was a tree in the middle of a field. Mikey's eyes widened and his mouth gaped with surprise. "You are so good! I like it! Wanna see mine?" I nodded and he showed me his. It was a very.....interesting drawing I give it that. He drew a drawing of himself being muscular and me being the damsel in distress being saved by him. "Whaddya think?" I look at it and the drawing isn't professional looking. More like first grade level art. But over all, I smiled and responded to him. "I love it." He smiles wide and decides to give it to me. I put it in my backpack, and he gets up. He takes out a boombox, and starts to play music. He danced around me and I laughed at his movements. "Come on! Dance with me!" I shook my head giggling. "Oh. No. I never danced before." He pulls me up, and decides to teach me how. I tried following his move set but I sucked at it real bad. He laughed and kept on dancing, having the time of his life. Even I was as well. Leo and Donnie Chuckled at us and Raph smirks shaking his head. "Kids today." Leo said, sharpening the blade of his katana. I soon got tired and layed down to rest for a bit from all the dancing. Mikey laid down as well. "You know, you're a cool guy mikey. I like you. I never met anyone that is wild but so full of life and is very kind." He blushes and smiles. "Hehe. Thanks." I stared at him and he noticed. I chuckled and he blushes even more. I went home after we had our fun, and I can tell Mikey feels left out when I had to leave. But I promised him I'd be back again soon which made him feel better a bit. He told me he would like to take me out somewhere. But where though? Whatever it is, I bet it's something special in mind.
End of P.O.V
Up next will be chapter 7. :)

8, 20 and 23 for the horror movie ask
8. what is your favorite horror franchise?
As a whole that's easy: Nightmare on Elm Street There even was a "funny" incident at school, because I'm the very bad kid who watched this terrible films and I corrupted my classmates. And my mom, who hates horror films with a passion, was left to defend me. Go, mom!
It's a bit of watching it during formative years, the fun of all the dream sequences so the deaths seem unique, even if they end in a stabbing only a few times and over the course of the films Freddy just got funnier, so...
20. are there any 'bad' horror movies that hold a special place in your heart?
Does Deep Blue Sea count? Is it considered bad enough or overall mediocre? It's my fav shark movie. High body count, cute sharks, terrible one-liners, so much water to drown in, fast paced once the action starts...
And like I said before, I'm totally into found footage and yes, most of them are actually bad (which is why there are many that are fun once, but don't hold much re-watch value, which is why it's fine there are so many). I think Grave Encounters was panned overall, but once again, the setting is a mental asylum and that's one of my fav settings for horror (knowing full well why mental illness needs better portrayal in media).
Oh, right, people actually hate Jason X. Which is dumb, because clearly it's the second best in the franchise, right after Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood (the one with telekinesis girl, which is also hated).
Uh, there is this very bad movie called How to Make a Monster, where a videogame AI goes rogue and kills the developer team. It has Clea DuVall in it and I watched that more often than any sane person should back then... which is kinda the same with Dark House, but the reason was Meghan Ory..............
23. do you have any controversial horror opinions?
I don't know. I probably have, because I'm very chill when it comes to enjoying media and I don't fly into a rage over small things, but I also don't think the things I like are always above criticism and the best invention since sliced bread.
Again, tropes are there for a reason. And when I keep people lamenting "it's so predictable", I just wanna pummel them. Which is also because I've seen/read so many stories and there are only so many paths to go. Often enough a scene can have two outcomes and both seem as likely and thus predictable, but it would still be a coin toss. But that's not a horror specific thing.
*hmm* I think Rape'n'Revenge is a valid sub-genre. And killing men in the most brutal way after a horrifying rape scene can be cathartic and if you enjoy that, it doesn't mean you are a sick person who needs therapy. I need therapy for other reasons I only like a few films of this type and omg the difference Revenge (2017) makes because the director is a woman, is so fucking noticeable (how weird that Coralie Forgeat hasn't had a follow-up deal yet... oh right... a woman... in the industry...... *sigh*).
Oh, I know, I watched Saw in a preview when it came out and everybody was so hyped. I was already bored out of my mind with the first... the concept of the Jigsaw killer is dumb. So. Very. Dumb. There, I said it.

Bittersweet (Barry Allen x Reader)
Requested by: @kurtbastianlover Wordcount: 3967 Summary: Like every fan’s dream, you suddenly drop into your favorite television show.
The world could be a very mysterious place. Not knowing how they built the great pyramids, the Bermuda triangle, the current US president - but the biggest one was how the hell you went from falling asleep on your couch, to waking up in a bed in the fictional STAR Labs with the actress Daniel Panabaker sitting across the room, looking at medical charts on the computer. When you blinked open your eyes and looked around your surroundings, you tried to think of how this could be happening. There was too much detail for it to be a dream, you could see things that were just background blurs in the show. And the IV needle stuck in your arm hurt too much for that to be part of a dream too. It grew itchy and you scratched the area around it, which caught the attention of the actress. She got to her feet and pressed a call button that made her voice echo throughout the lab. ‘They’re awake!’
“Alright, is there some new prank show out there where they drug you and put you on the set of your favorite show? Because that seems a bit on the illegal side, Netflix will never pick it up.” You looked at your arm and at the needle. You’d seen movies and shows where people pull them out of their own arms, and it always looks uncomfortable. “I’ll play along if you can get a Doctor or a nurse to come and pull this thing out of me. Health and safety nightmare for me to-”
A bright flash appeared, and then there he was. Grant Gustin himself, wearing the infamous, skintight Flash suit. It looked even better in person than it did on your shitty little tv. But how did he get there so fast? You would have noticed if he just walked in. It’s like you were watching reality with special effects. “Wow, it really sprung for the big names.”
“What are they talking about?” Grant leaned in to ask Danielle, who looked at you concerned.
“Grant Gustin, Danielle Panabaker. I met the both of you at SDCC a couple of years ago, after the first season came out. I don’t expect you to remember me, though you certainly made an impression on me,” You chuckled nervously. Danielle shrugged and looked puzzled, before coming closer to you with her hands up. You didn’t make a fuss, only watched carefully as she removed the IV so you were free to move about. “Did they have enough in the budget for Carlos?”
“Who is Carlos?” Grant asked, moving forward. “Is that the person who did this to you, or someone we could track down or...”
“Cisco Ramone? Seriously, what kind of show is this?” You looked between the two actors, frowning now. It had been a bit fun at the start, but the genuinely confused look on their faces was making that run out quick. “Alright, the only thing that I can do from here is pretend that this is serious, so that’s what I’ll do.” You breathed, then got to your feet, realizing that you were still in your pajamas. Well, this certainly is not how you wanted anyone to see you.
“How do you know Cisco?” Danielle asked. You noticed they were avoiding any sort of conversation about this being a show, as though they were scared of the topic. You didn’t blame them. You’d be confused if you were just going about your life and someone showed up and said they knew your life.
“We’ve never met, but I guess you can say that I know a lot about all of you.” You admitted. “I know that sounds crazy but hey, if I somehow slipped from one earth to another, in your words, then anything is possible, right?”
“I’m going to go get Cisco,” Danielle said, backing away, and left the room, leaving you alone with Grant. You stretched your back and took a better look around, noticing that there was no cameras, and the room was indeed closed off - not open like a set. Once Danielle was back with Carlos - it was strange to think of them as their characters when they were standing in front of you - you cleared your throat. “You guys might want to sit down, I have a lot to say.”
-
When you were done, and having done a short introduction of yourself, the three in front of you seemed to have their minds blown. Grant, no, Barry, had taken off the hood of his costume since you revealed that you knew his identity anyway.
“So somewhere in the multiverse, we’re a TV show. Please tell me I’m played by someone good,” Cisco said, looking at you eagerly.
“You’re played by a guy who looked exactly you. And this is your only real acting gig. It’s great though, you’re fantastic. And Caitlin, you’re Danielle Panabaker, you did, let me think,” You tried to remember other things you’ve seen her in. “A Friday the 13th remake, and a high school superhero film called Sky High. You controlled plants and were hella feminist.” She seemed more troubled at this than happy. “And Grant, sorry, Barry, you also did Glee, which is funny because so did Melissa - er, Supergirl.”
“So this is really all just a TV show? You know all about it?” Barry reiterated.
“Uh - probably, unless I somehow just changed the timeline. Can you tell me about what’s been going on recently? Because by the looks of things, I might actually be ahead of you guys.”
“Tony - he’s made of metal or something. We were fighting and then I just saw you, lying off the side of the road. I couldn’t tell what was wrong, you were just unconscious so I brought you here,” Barry explained. You thought for a moment, Tony, Tony - no, you couldn’t be this far back, could you?
“Tony, as in your childhood villain, Tony?” You asked to be sure.
“That’s where I remember him from!” Barry jumped up. “I knew he looked familiar. But how-”
“This is just season one stuff. You have no idea how crazy things are going to get from here.” You sighed. “This is like, calm before the storm type of things. I could tell you how you eventually defeat him, if you want me to.”
“Season one, how many seasons are there?” Caitlin finally spoke up.
“So far - six.”
“I gotta go tell Harrison about this, he’s going to freak-” Cisco said. At the mention of Harrison Wells, you remembered the twist at the end of the season, and instinctively reached out and grabbed Cisco’s wrist. He stopped, surprised. It was the first contact that you’ve reached out for with any of them. It was still hard to believe that they were real, and you were touching skin. Cisco’s skin.
“It would be extremely dangerous to tell him any of what I’ve just told you,” You said, seriously. “I wish I could tell you, but it would also be dangerous if I did that. Just um - just tell him I’m diabetic and I passed out on the street, and I’m - I don’t know, a cousin or something, because if he finds out who I am and what I know...”
“Do you know who killed my mom?” Barry asked, getting onto his feet.
“Uhh - yes, but - oh god, please don’t make me tell you the big things. I have a really bad feeling about this.”
“Let’s give y/n a little space, okay?” Caitlin said, smiling at you softly. You returned it, knowing that by doing this, you were giving them a little space. You climbed back onto the bed in the medical room and closed your eyes tightly.
You even tried to click your heels three times, muttering, “There’s no place like home,” but that didn’t do anything. You were still here, in the Flashverse. And you had a lot of decisions to make on what to tell them. They weren’t just entertainment now, you could be putting lives at risk. You could be putting your own if Eobard Thawne, under the guise of Harrison Wells, knew that you knew the future. You probably already ruined it by telling them that they had six seasons of adventures ahead of them. You sighed, and went over what you could remember of the first season, especially what was coming up next.
-
“He seems undefeatable,” Barry said, coming to you in the Medical Bay. A couple of days had already past. Caitlin got you some clothes to change into, and had concocted a story to Harrison about how you had been her neighbor when she was younger. He seemed to buy it and welcome you, which was a bit difficult for you to accept naturally, but you did your best. He still seemed to linger, however, especially when you were alone with one of the members of the team. This was your first one on one talk with Barry since you got here.
“He’s not - Cisco comes up with a way. You defeat him, with a little help from Iris actually. Just give it a little time, and stop trying to just punch him, it’s clearly not working.”
“Does she know who I am?” Barry asked, growing nervous at the mention of Iris’s involvement. “Does she find out when we fight Tony?”
“No, this isn’t how she finds out, but she does eventually. So just keep being careful, alright?”
“Yeah, alright.” Barry nodded. “Hey, have you had a chance to check out Jitters yet?”
“Haven’t really been able to leave this place, no matter how many times I try to explain to Cisco that there’s no Central City in my world so running into a double of me is impossible.”
“Do you want to go, with me?” Barry asked. A flush came across your cheeks. You always thought that Grant Gustin was handsome, and that Barry Allen was an amazing character, so seeing that face, with that personality, and seeing those lips form ‘do you want to go with me’ was overwhelming to you.
“Is this just a ploy so you can go see Iris?” You questioned, trying to play it off cool.
“No, though she might be working. I just thought that since you’re here, I could show you around. Maybe you’ll see something that isn’t in the show.”
“Sure, sure,” You teased, knowing that he was in love with his best friend and that they would one day get married. It was best not to get your hopes up. “Oh, and can we also go to Big Belly Burger? I’ve always wanted to try it.”
Barry laughed at that, but agreed that he would take you there for dinner.
Apart from the danger of being near the big bad from the first season, being here was a dream come true.
-
You sat across from Barry at a small Jitters table with large coffee mugs in front of you. The place was larger than you thought it would be, but you only were able to see a bit of it due to camera angles. You got what sounded best, while Barry got his usual. And of course, Iris was working. It was just like the show, where she was front and center while there were background characters literally in the background.
“So you know all about us, why don’t you tell me a little about you?” Barry asked, taking a sip from his coffee. He was barely looking over at Iris, it was odd.
“Oh, I’m really not that interesting,” You said, brushing it off. “Not like you guys anyway. My life is pretty pedestrian.”
“I wouldn’t say that,” Barry frowned. “There’s got to be something.”
“Well, I live by myself, so apart from my job, I doubt anyone has noticed that I left yet. Thank God I don’t have a pet or else I’d be freaking out about them not being fed,” You chuckled, trying to think of anything that might be of interest. You told him about your job, and how it wasn’t nearly as cool as being a superhero.
“You shouldn’t compare yourself to other people as often. Especially not TV characters,” Barry said, looking a little concerned.
“I guess I do that a lot, huh?” You tried to lighten the mood with a little chuckle. “Is there anything that you want to know, by the way? I mean, I can’t spoil the big things, obviously, but there’s probably some things that I can tell you.”
“There’s one thing that I’ve been thinking about, but you don’t know the answer,” Barry frowned. “How you being here is going to affect the timeline that you know.”
“I hope someone cool plays me in the show,” You mirrored what Cisco had said earlier. This made Barry laugh which was a wonderful sight to see. He was so stressed about this whole Tony thing, and his mother’s investigation. Looking at him smile, you noticed that he hadn’t been looking at Iris throughout the whole conversation, but seemed to have his eyes set only on you. You wondered if - maybe - did he think the same way about you that you thought about him?
“You would definitely be played by someone cool.”
You wiggled around in your seat, a little more bashful than you were before. “Barry, I have to ask-”
You were cut off by a shadow over the table, and it belonged to the one and only Iris West. She was absolutely stunning in person, just as she was on your TV screen. “Nothing else for you two before we close up?”
You were surprised by that, and looked at the clock only to find that you had been there for hours. Wrapping your arms around yourself, feeling shy next to the supermodel beside you, you shook your head.
“Iris,” Barry said, getting to his feet, as if just realizing that she was there. “This is y/n.”
“Thanks for the delicious coffee,” You said, smiling awkwardly. You really did have a problem with comparing yourself to other people. Being here had made that abundantly clear.
“You’re welcome,” Iris said, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. “Barry has been rather busy lately, I’m guessing that’s because of you?”
“A lot of things, but yeah, y/n has been ... helpful.” You nodded along as Barry gave a haphazard explanation for your friendship. The look on Iris’s face showed that she didn’t entirely buy it but she dropped the subject.
“However, we are closing so - Barry, do you want to come for dinner at dad’s house sometime this week?”
“Uh - maybe, I’ll let you know.” Barry stood up and put his coat back on, and you did the same. Both of you left, and once you were out in the night air, you let out a huge breath.
“It’s a bit awkward, isn’t it?” You asked. “Iris is your best friend and you’re in love with her then along comes me and makes it uncomfortable, I’m sorry.”
“You know about that too?” Barry looked at you, then sighed, leading the way towards the fast food place. “Is there anything that you don’t know?”
You thought for a minute, then shrugged your shoulders. “I don’t really know where to go from here. I mean, both the burger place, and in this weird life.” He nodded along, listening to ramble about how you missed your old life a bit, even though it wasn’t nearly as exciting as this. Within a couple of minutes, you had it all out of your system and were finding a place to sit while he ordered the burgers.
“Thought we could eat outside,” Barry said, holding up the bag. You nodded, agreeing with that, and the two of you found yourselves sitting on a nearby bench, looking out at the water. “I know things have really changed for you but, I like having you around.”
“Really?” You squeaked more than said, which made you blush again. You never even blushed this much in the real world, but then again, you didn’t have anyone like Barry Allen in your real life. He looked at you and a little grin came across his face - and you recognized it. It was the same grin that he had when he looked at Iris during the show. “Um - thanks, that’s really nice of you to say.”
Barry’s phone ruined the moment, the annoying beeping not stopping until he took it out of his pocket. “Hold on, it’s Cisco,” He said, and answered it. “Cisco? Yeah, y/n’s with me, really? I thought it would take longer than that... Okay, yeah, we’ll head that way now.” He hung up then put it back into his pocket, and looked over at you. “He found a way to potentially get you back home.”
“Oh, alright,” You said, a little disappointed. It felt like things were only beginning to grow here, like maybe you could have a place, but you knew in your heart it wasn’t right. Any move that you make now could affect the lives of these people. Knowing the future and not being able to tell them was extremely difficult. “Yeah, we should head over there.”
“Y/N...” Barry started, but then stopped as you got up and started to walk away from the bench. He jogged, rather than raced, to catch up with you. “It might not even work-”
“But it might. And then - then I’ll have to be content with watching you all on the television again, once a week, seeing you fight and be in pain, and see bad things happen, and good things and not being able to be there anymore...”
“I’m sorry,” Barry said, looking down at you as the both of you walked, hands shoved deep in his pockets. “I wish you could stay here.”
“Yeah, me too.”
-
You weren’t as thrilled about the idea of going back as Cisco thought that you would be, but you put a big smile on your face so he wouldn’t feel bad about all the work he put into it. When he explained that he would be attempting to alter your frequencies in the same was as televisions in their world, you just nodded and smiled.
“It was really nice to meet you all, I guess I’ll be seeing you again soon.” Your laugh gave away that you were a bit sad about this. They each gave you a hug - first Caitlin, then Cisco, then Barry, though his seemed to linger for longer.
It wasn’t until you rested your head against his chest that you realized that this was your only chance. At first, you were hesitant to bring it up, but then you looked into his eyes and knew that you had to. “Remember how I was going to ask you something at Jitters?” You licked your lips, still slightly tasting the Big Belly Burger, and wished you had a mint or something.
“Yes,” Barry nodded. You smiled slightly, and tried to think of how to word it. Iris had thrown you off your guard back at the coffee shop, and you had to get those thoughts back together.
“I was going to ask if it would be alright if I considered coffee and the burger as a date. It would be really cool to be the only person on my Earth who can say they had a date with a comic book hero.”
He chuckled at that and you thought for a second you had made him blush, but it could have just been the lights. “We can both call it that,” He agreed.
“And would it be alright if I ended this date ... with a kiss?” Even you couldn’t believe how bold that you were being, and Barry looked a little shocked by it as well. You two had just started to get to know each other but he thought that you were a lot more shy than this. But he nodded his head, so you stood on your tiptoes and pressed your lips against his.
It was a good thing that he also tasted like burger, so neither of you had to feel insecure. Apart from that, it was amazing - there was a storm rumbling in your belly, which was more powerful than any butterflies you’ve ever felt before. It was like being on a roller coaster that was just about to totter down a large drop. It was like coming across untarnished treasure. It was beyond any other kiss that you ever had before, and when it ended, you were holding in tears that you had to leave.
He looked at you sadly as well, and took a couple of steps back. You smiled, because despite the sorrow at leaving, you were happy that it had happened at all. “Alright Cisco, beam me up.”
-
The last thing that you remembered was him pointing a device at you, and some sort of weird vibration going through your body. And then you woke up, which was startling because you didn’t remember falling asleep. You were back on your couch, with the credits of a recent Flash episode playing on your television. The only thing that was different was your clothes. It wasn’t the pajamas that you had been lounging it, but rather, it was an outfit that Caitlin had found for you, and that you had worn on your date with Barry.
That’s how you know that everything that happened was real, and not just some crazy dream. These were definitely not clothes that you owned.
You sat up and reached for your cellphone which was charging on the armrest of the couch. You saw that your phone was not only fully charged, but that you missed three days of your life, that you had 13 missed calls, 22 text messages and plenty of notifications from phone games - and of course, the ever threatening Duolingo reminders. You swept past those and called your best friend right away. She sounded sleepy as she answered the phone, given that it was almost one in the morning.
“You won’t believe what just happened to me,” You said.
“Does it have something to do with the fact that you’ve been lounging around, not answering your phone for three days?” Your friend yawned.
“Yes, actually, it does. I just went on a date with The Flash.”
You waited for your friends reaction to either think it was a joke, or be utterly surprised. It turned out to be neither. “Y/N, I know, you’ve been saying that since that episode came out.” You could hear them rolling their eyes from here. “Yes, there was a character with the same name as you back in season one, we get it, can I go back to sleep now?”
“Yeah, sure,” You said, and hung up. You looked blankly at the TV as another episode started. A rerun, but from season five, not the season that you were in. You rested back against the couch and watched it, a longing in your heart to return back to the show. You wouldn’t be able to watch it without remembering the feeling of Barry’s lips.

Bump in the Night
Pairing: Kristanna (+ a minor appearance by Elsamaren)
Word Count: 2,988/AO3
Summary: To kick off the start of “spooky season,” Anna plans a scary movie night with Kristoff, but things go awry later that night when their real life begins to imitate conventions of a horror film.
Author’s Note: Happy October! While I absolutely hate Fall (cold weather + less daylight, yuck), Halloween is my favorite holiday. I planned to write a couple of fics this month to help me “embrace” this season and this is the first. Enjoy!!!
“Are you almost here?”
“I’m pulling up to your house now,” Kristoff chuckled, reversing into the empty spot behind her car.
“Oh, okay! I’ll open the front door!”
Suddenly the line went dead, and he couldn’t help but smile. He cut the engine, grabbed his overnight bag from where it rested on the front seat, and climbed out of the car.
“Hi, sweetie!” Anna called from the doorway.
“Hey, baby,” he called back with a grin.
When he finally made it into the house, she pulled him into a tight embrace before leaning up onto her toes and pressing a soft but brief kiss to his lips. “How are you? How was work?”
“It was crazy busy and I had to stay a little late, which is why I got here so late, but I’m doing a lot better now that I’m here. How about you?”
“Today was great, I’m great. Here, do you want me to bring your bag upstairs?”
“Nah, I’ll just bring it up later,” he answered, sliding the strap off of his shoulder and placing the bag on the bottom step of the staircase. “Just don’t trip over it.”
“I won’t,” she laughed, walking towards the kitchen. “I ordered us a pizza and it should be here any minute.”
“Why didn’t you tell me? I could’ve picked it up on the way.”
“It’s not a big deal,” she said, turning around to make sure that he was following her. “Elsa is staying at Honeymaren’s this weekend.”
Kristoff raised an eyebrow. “I see?”
“Do you...maybe wanna have a scary movie night?”
“Uh...sure,” he answered.
Her face fell. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing,” he shrugged. “I just don’t understand the correlation between Elsa being away and us watching a scary movie.”
“Oh!” Anna giggled. “Well, we’ll have the living room to ourselves and we can put on whatever we want without Elsa butting in. I’ve never been able to watch anything scary because she hates horror.”
“I’m not too fond of it, myself,” Kristoff admitted.
“Ooh, is the big, tough guy afraid of scary movies?” she teased, poking her finger into his ribcage.
“No,” he huffed, swatting her hand away. “I’ve watched a whole bunch and to be honest, I think they’re stupid and predictable.”
She opened up one of the cabinets and pulled out two plates. “Well, it’s officially ‘spooky season’ and I think it would be fun.”
“We can watch whatever you want,” he promised.
“Yay!” she squealed, bouncing up to press a kiss to his cheek.
“Did you have a specific movie in mind?” “I found one called The Summoning. It’s basically about a young married couple that moves into a new house, only to find out that the house is haunted by a demon.”
“Sounds exactly like every other horror movie that came out in the last decade or so,” he remarked.
“Is that a bad thing?” she asked, furrowing her eyebrows.
“No,” he shrugged. “Just an observation. A lot of old horror movies had masked murderers; Freddy Krueger from A Nightmare on Elm Street, Michael Myers from Halloween, Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th. Now it’s all about the invisible villain; Paranormal Activity, The Conjuring, and now I guess The Summoning.”
“I’m impressed! You really know your stuff, huh?” she proclaimed enthusiastically, but before he could respond, the doorbell rang. “Ooh pizza’s here!”
“Do you want money?” he offered.
She thrust the plates in his direction and he accepted them. “Nope! It’s on me. The only thing I need you to do is sit your butt on the couch.”
He obeyed her command and made his way to the living room, setting the plates on the coffee table and plopping down in the corner of the couch. A few short moments later she joined him, placing the pizza box next to the plates.
“Help yourself. I’m going to put the movie on,” she stated, grabbing the remote.
He reached over and flipped the lid to the box open. “You want to eat and watch at the same time?”
“Yeah, I figured we could multitask.”
He shrugged, and handed her a plate with a slice on it and then took one for himself before sitting back.
“Thanks,” she smiled, leaning into his side and pressing the play button. “I hope it’s good.”
“We shall see.”
The movie opened up to upbeat music, and an attractive young couple moving boxes out of a moving truck and into their new, yet clearly antiquated house. Less than ten minutes in, the tone changed and elements of horror started creeping in.
While Anna was completely engrossed with what was happening, it was abundantly clear to Kristoff that the movie was the opposite of good; between the cheap jump scares, the poor acting, and the lack of any real action, it seemed more like a comedy than a horror movie. Though he tried to focus on what was happening in front of him in order to keep his promise to Anna, he was growing more bored by the second. Eventually it became close to unbearable.
“How about…” he started, pressing a slow, ardent kiss to her neck, “We turn this off and put something else on?”
“No, I want to watch,” she giggled, shying away from his touch. “You promised that we could watch whatever I wanted.”
“I know, but it’s so bad,” he whined.
“It’s half over and it’s not that bad.”
“It’s terrible.”
“Look!” she exclaimed, pointing at the television screen. “The demon just pushed her down the stairs.”
“Demons aren’t real.”
“Please watch it,” she begged.
“I’d rather kiss your neck.”
“You have all night to kiss my neck, and I’m going to hold you to that,” she teased, wiggling away from him. “But the only thing I’m paying attention to for the next forty-five minutes is this movie.”
“Fine,” he huffed, resting his chin on her shoulder. “What about Hocus Pocus? You love that movie.”
She looked at him out of the corners of her eyes. “I will only turn this movie off if you admit that you’re scared.”
“I’m not scared,” he insisted. “I’d actually enjoy it more if it was scaring me.”
“Too bad.”
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“We should see a horror movie in a theater soon,” she remarked as they laid in bed later that night. “I wonder if there are any good ones coming out this year.”
“I don’t trust your judgment on what a ‘good’ horror movie is,” he chuckled.
“Well, we could always just sit in the back and make out like high schoolers if it’s really bad.”
“We could do that here, for free,” he noted.
“Yeah, but it’s about the thrill of the chase. It’s more exciting when you’re in a room full of people who aren’t paying attention to what you’re doing.”
“You are truly something else. And I love you for that.”
“Aww, I love you too,” she smiled, reaching out to squeeze his hand. “Did you really hate the movie?”
“No offense, Anna, but it was beyond bad.”
“Can I just say that I still can’t believe the guy in that movie let his wife become possessed like that?! Newly married, new house, seemingly perfect life and then bam! He chooses to save himself instead of fighting for her.”
“Good thing it’s just a movie,” he reminded her.
“I know, but it’s still so terrible,” she said, shaking her head. “Would you abandon me if a demon was trying to possess me?”
“No, because it literally would not happen.”
“But if it did happen?”
He sighed. “No, I wouldn’t abandon you.”
“Thank you. I wouldn’t abandon you, either.”
“Great, it’s all settled then. Do you think that can be incorporated into our wedding vows?”
She playful swatted his arm. “Can you stop mocking me please?”
“Only when you stop worrying about real people in fictional scenarios.”
She glared at him. “It was a hypothetical question.”
“That I answered honestly,” he added. “I’ll save you from all the bad guys - and if that includes demons or ghosts or werewolves, I still won’t abandon you.”
“Thank you, sweetie.”
“I’m gonna crash, so…” he leaned over to peck her on the lips. “Goodnight.”
“Goodnight.”
Within moments, he was asleep, while she found herself tossing and turning. As the clock ticked forward, she tried to convince herself that she wasn’t anxious; every thought that popped into her head was clouded with scariest scenes from the movie. Though her mind was racing, she tried to focus on Kristoff instead, watching as his chest rose and fell with each breath.
Until she swore that she heard a noise and nearly jumped out of her skin. She could hear her heart beating in her ears, and though Kristoff looked completely at peace, she needed someone to ease her racing mind.
“Kristoff,” she whispered, gently shaking his shoulder. “Kristoff!”
“Huh?” he mumbled, his eyes slowly blinking open.
“I heard a noise,” she responded, her voice slightly louder. “What if someone is in the house?”
“A person or a demon?” he teased.
“Kristoff, I’m not kidding.”
“No one is in the house,” he assured her. “You probably just heard a car door close.”
“It didn’t sound like a car door,” she rebutted.
“I think that movie made you paranoid.”
She rolled her eyes. “Would you please make sure the front door is locked?”
He groaned in response, before scrubbing at his face with the palms of his hands a few times. He tossed the blankets aside and stood up, taking a moment to stretch before shuffling out of the room.
Anna anxiously awaited his return, wringing her hands over and over again. After what felt like an eternity, he reappeared.
“All the doors are locked,” he announced as he collapsed back onto the bed. “Front door, back door, door to the garage.”
“I feel a lot better now,” Anna breathed. “Thank you for checking.”
He motioned for her to slide closer to him. She laid her head on his chest, and he placed a hand on her shoulder before pressing a kiss to her temple. “Anything to make you feel better. Try to get some sleep.”
She nodded against him, feeling safe in his arms, and after a few moments, she felt her eyelids start to grow heavy. Until a loud crash from downstairs snapped her out of it.
Her eyes widened and she tensed up. “Did you hear that?”
“Yeah,” Kristoff answered hesitantly.
As if on cue, another crash sounded from beneath them. They both sprang into action, jumping out of the bed.
“What should we do?”
“Do you have any weapons?”
“No!” Anna exclaimed. “Only the kitchen knives.” “Tomorrow I’m buying you a bat,” Kristoff remarked before charging out of the room. Anna followed swiftly behind him.
“What exactly are you planning on doing?” she whispered as she chased him down the stairs, trying to stay as light on her feet as she could.
“I want to see where the noise came from.”
“And then…?”
“I haven’t figured that out yet.”
“Maybe we should call the police?” she suggested in a panicked whisper.
“And do what in the meantime? Get killed?”
For a moment, they stood quietly in the dark, and it quickly became apparent that the noises had come from the garage, though the sounds had morphed from crashes to voices.
Kristoff and Anna slowly crept toward the kitchen. He pulled each knife out of the knife block until he determined which one would be the most effective. Anna, on the other hand, went for the cast iron skillet that was resting on the stovetop.
“What are you going to do with that?”
“Throw it?” she shrugged.
They approached the door to the garage, and Kristoff held out his left arm in an attempt to keep Anna safely behind him. When they finally reached the door, Kristoff slowly reached out for the doorknob, before twisting it and forcefully pushing the door open, immediately resulting in two girlish shrieks from the perpetrators.
“You’ve got to be kidding me,” Kristoff snorted.
“Elsa?!” Anna exclaimed, gently pushing Kristoff’s arm down. “What are you doing?”
It was quite the scene. Elsa and Honeymaren were crouched on the floor of the garage; Elsa was sweeping a pile of dirt into the garbage bag that Honey was holding open. Gardening tools and pieces of broken ceramic were scattered behind them, in addition to the plant that Elsa had mentioned buying the day before.
Elsa cringed, clearly mortified. “It’s a long story.”
“It’s really not,” Honeymaren corrected, looking rather amused. “She forgot to take out the garbage and it was bothering her. I suggested that she text you, and ask you to take it out, but she wanted to handle it herself. You wanna tell the rest of the story, Elsa?”
Elsa hung her head in shame, understandably embarrassed by the entire situation. “I tripped and knocked over the bin of gardening tools. Then while I was trying to pick them up, I knocked over the plant and the pot shattered.”
“Which is why we’re crouched on the floor, cleaning up dirt,” Honey stated, reaching out to place a reassuring hand on Elsa’s shoulder. “It’s really not a big deal though.”
“Accidents happen,” Anna sympathized. “But you guys kind of scared the crap out of us. We thought someone was breaking in.”
“So you decided to handle it yourselves?” Elsa asked incredulously, her eyes widening.
“The alternative was calling the police. You could’ve been arrested for breaking into your own house,” Kristoff pointed out.
Honey smirked. “I don’t know what would’ve been worse; going to jail or being stabbed,” she remarked, her eyes bouncing from Kristoff to Anna. “Or whatever you were planning to do with a frying pan.”
“Have you ever picked one of these up?” Anna asked, moving her arm up and down to demonstrate the heftiness of the skillet. “They weigh a ton. One swing of this pan could knock a person unconscious.”
“Good thing neither of you had to use your weapons of choice,” Elsa cringed. “I’m sorry that we scared you.”
“Next time, just let me know if you plan on coming home in the middle of the night to take out garbage,” Anna pleaded with her older sister. “Or, you know, just ask me to do it.”
“Or,” Kristoff interjected, draping his arm around Anna’s shoulders. “Ask me to do it, because someone is too paranoid from the scary movie we watched to go downstairs by herself.”
“Am not!” Anna rebuked, looking up at him. “You’re just...a lot bigger and more intimidating than I am.”
He smiled smugly. “Whatever helps you sleep at night.”
She stuck her tongue out at him, before turning back to her sister. “Do you need our help cleaning up?”
Elsa shook her head. “No, I think we got it. You two should go back to sleep.”
“Okay, if you’re sure.”
The group exchanged goodnights, and Anna and Kristoff returned their weapons back to the kitchen before heading back upstairs.
“That was, uh...interesting,” Kristoff commented when they finally made it back to the bedroom.
Anna closed the door behind them and climbed back into the bed. “I know, right?! It’s just garbage, it’s not a big deal!”
“Maybe she was worried that she was going to stink up the garage,” he suggested, laying down next to her.
“She could’ve just moved it outside when she got home tomorrow if she didn’t want to bother us,” she countered. “And I bet she’ll never spend another night away again after this. We may be spending weekends with Elsa and Honeymaren from now on unless we stay at your place.”
“I have no issues with that and honestly, I feel like you would do the same if the situation was reversed - you know, to avoid inconveniencing her.”
“Oh, I totally would. But I’d at least give her a heads up first, so if I made a ton of noise in the middle of the night she wouldn’t think I was a murderer or a burglar. Maybe we should consider getting an alarm installed. Do you think Elsa will go for that?”
“Alarm or no alarm, I’m going to buy you a bat, just in case there’s a ‘next time.’”
“If there’s ever a ‘next time,’ we will call the cops and avoid running into the line of fire,” she said, narrowing her eyes at him. “Ahem.”
“I know it was risky and stupid, but at least your sister and Honeymaren didn’t get hauled away in handcuffs. And I promised I would protect you.”
“From fictional bad guys. And jerks, of course. If that had been a real murderer or robber, we could’ve been killed.”
“You were fine with sending me downstairs when you heard a noise,” he stated.
She scoffed. “That’s different.”
“How is that different?” he asked, raising his eyebrows.
“It just is.”
He hesitated for a moment, before reaching out and caressing her cheek. “Anna, did that movie scare you?”
“A little,” she confessed. “Obviously I know that it’s just a movie, but I lost control of my imagination. I really did hear a noise and before you say it - no, I didn’t think the noise was a demon.”
“Look, I’m sorry for teasing you,” he sighed. “It was wrong of me, and it probably seemed like I was less than thrilled to make sure the doors were locked but -”
She cut him off mid-sentence. “Kristoff, I woke you up out of a dead sleep because I heard a noise. Cut yourself a little slack here.”
“And I immediately accused you of being paranoid - the point is, I don’t want you to hesitate to wake me up if you hear a noise, okay?”
“Fine,” she agreed. “But as a compromise, I’ll probably be skipping horror movies from now on.”
He smirked. “I have no issues with that.”
“And if you want...we can watch Hocus Pocus tomorrow.”
