In the quiet halls
A/N: I only recently discovered people write for him so if his character doesn’t seem right please give me tips! I also didn’t know who was the more popular fancast so I just stuck with David tenant because I think he’s hot 🤭
Summary: when Barty finds you in the empty halls crying his fist reaction is anger at who made you feel like this but it melts away when you look at him with tear rimmed eyes. Barty comforts you the best he can.

Barty had never been great with emotions, particularly his own. Growing up in the cold, controlled environment of the Crouch household, feelings were something to be kept under wraps, hidden away where they couldn't make you vulnerable. But you.. you had always been different. You weren’t afraid to feel, to express yourself, to be open and honest in a way that made him question everything he'd ever known about control. Which was why it terrified him just how much he cared about you. What had started as friendship had slowly turned into something more, something he didn’t know how to deal with. He couldn’t stop thinking about you, the way your laugh echoed through the common room, the way you always managed to say the right thing when he was in a bad mood, the way your smile made his heart race. But you were his best friend, and he wasn’t about to ruin that by confessing his feelings. No, it was better to keep things as they were, even if it meant pretending that you didn’t make his heart ache in ways he couldn’t explain. So, he kept it to himself, content to stand by your side and quietly pine after you, knowing that you deserved more than someone like him. You deserved someone who wasn’t constantly wrestling with the darkness inside him, someone who wasn’t constantly trying to live up to impossible expectations.
He was on his way to the library, mentally preparing himself for another late-night study session, when he saw you in one of the empty corridors. His brow furrowed in concern when he noticed the way you were slumped against the wall, arms wrapped tightly around yourself. You looked… small. Defeated. And most importantly you had hidden yourself away in a corridor instead of seeking comfort like you usually do. His stomach twisted as he quickly closed the distance between you, dread curling in his chest. He had seen you upset before, but this was different. You looked like you were barely holding it together. “Hey” he said softly, crouching down in front of you. “What happened?” You didn’t look up, and for a moment, you didn’t answer. Barty’s heart pounded in his chest, and he felt an unfamiliar surge of protectiveness rise in him, the kind that made his hands clench into fists. Who had done this to you? Who had made you feel this way?
“Who upset you?” he asked, his voice tight with barely contained anger. His mind raced with images of every possible person who could’ve upset you. Whoever it was, they’d have to answer to him. But then, you looked up at him, and the anger that had been building inside him evaporated the moment he saw your face. Your eyes were red-rimmed, tears still clinging to your lashes, and your expression was so utterly broken that it made his chest hurt. The fierceness in him melted, replaced by a deep, gnawing ache. His voice softened instantly. “Hey, what’s going on?” he asked, his tone gentle now. “Talk to me”. You sniffed, wiping at your eyes with the back of your hand, trying to compose yourself, but it was clear you were struggling. Barty’s heart broke a little more at the sight of you trying to be strong.
“I-It’s stupid” you said shakily, your voice barely above a whisper. “It’s just… today’s been awful. Everything’s gone wrong, and I-I feel like I can’t do anything right. Like I’m failing at everything”. Barty’s heart ached at your words. He had seen you go through tough days before, but it was rare to see you so broken. Normally, you were the strong one, the one who kept your head held high no matter what. Seeing you like this, seeing you hurt, was unbearable. “Hey, no” he said softly, sitting down beside you, his shoulder pressing against yours in a gesture of quiet support. “You’re not failing. You’re… you’re brilliant. You’re one of the strongest people I know”. You gave him a shaky laugh, but it was clear you didn’t believe him. “I don’t feel strong right now” you whispered. “I feel like I’m falling apart”. Barty swallowed the lump in his throat, his mind racing as he tried to find the right words to comfort you. “You don’t have to be strong all the time, you know” he said quietly. “It’s okay to have bad days. It’s okay to feel like this”.
You shook your head, still struggling to hold back tears. “But it’s more than that. I feel like no matter what I do, it’s not good enough. I try so hard, and I just… I don’t know how much longer I can keep pretending everything’s fine”. Barty felt his chest tighten. He hated seeing you like this. He hated that you were feeling so alone, so lost, and he hated that he hadn’t noticed sooner. He reached out, hesitating for just a moment before gently taking your hand in his. The contact was warm, grounding, and thought he had touched you before in casual ways, brushing arms, light nudges this felt more deliberate, more intimate. “You don’t have to pretend with me” he said softly, his thumb brushing against the back of your hand. “Not ever. I’m here, alright? Whatever’s going on, we’ll get through it together”. You glanced down at your intertwined hands, your fingers curling slightly around his. The small gesture made his heart skip a beat, but he pushed that feeling aside. This wasn’t about him. This was about you, and right now, all that mattered was making sure you knew he was there for you.
“I just.. I don’t know what to do anymore” you admitted, your voice so quiet that he had to strain to hear you. “Everything feels like it’s falling apart”. Barty’s heart ached as he listened to you, every word making him want to pull you closer, to hold you until you felt safe again. But he didn’t want to push you, didn’t want to overstep. He settled for squeezing your hand a little tighter, offering what comfort he could. “You don’t have to figure everything out right now” he said softly. “One step at a time, okay? And you don’t have to do it alone”. You were silent for a moment, your gaze fixed on the ground. Then, slowly, you leaned your head against his shoulder, your body slumping against his in exhaustion. Barty felt his breath catch in his throat, but he didn’t move. He didn’t want to risk breaking the fragile moment. “Thank you” you whispered, your voice barely audible. “I don’t know what I’d do without you”.
His chest tightened at your words, a strange mix of warmth and sadness swelling within him. He wished he could tell you how much you meant to him, how he would do anything to make sure you never felt this way again. But the words got stuck in his throat, and instead, he settled for pressing a soft kiss to the top of your head, his lips lingering there for just a moment longer than necessary. “I’m always here”he said quietly, his voice filled with a sincerity that surprised even him. “No matter what” You didn’t say anything in response, but the way your body relaxed against his, the way your hand tightened around his, told him enough. The two of you sat in silence for a long time, the weight of the day slowly easing off your shoulders as you let yourself lean on him. Barty stayed there with you, his heart racing but steady, determined to be the calm you needed right now. For as long as you needed him, he would be there.
Eventually, you shifted slightly, lifting your head from his shoulder to meet his gaze. Your eyes were still red, but there was a softness there now, a vulnerability that made his breath catch. “I don’t know what I did to deserve a friend like you” you said quietly, a small, tired smile tugging at your lips. Barty felt his heart skip a beat, but he forced a smile in return, trying to keep his emotions in check. “I’m the lucky one” he said softly, and it wasn’t a lie. Every day he spent with you was a gift he didn’t feel he deserved.
For a moment, neither of you spoke. The air between you felt charged, like something unspoken hung in the balance. Barty’s eyes flickered to your lips, but he quickly looked away, cursing himself for thinking about that when you were upset. This wasn’t the time. But then, to his surprise, you reached out and gently cupped his face in your hands, your thumbs brushing softly against his cheekbones. His heart stopped as you leaned forward, your forehead resting against his, your breath warm against his skin. “Thank you” you whispered again, and this time, Barty couldn’t help himself. Without thinking, he closed the small gap between you, his lips brushing against yours in the softest, most tentative kiss. It was gentle, filled with the quiet promise of more, of everything that had been building between you for so long. When Barty pulled back, your eyes searched his, a quiet question lingering there.
“I-“ he started, but you beat him to his ramble and quickly pulled him back into your lips by wrapping your hand round the back of his head, hoping it would be enough to answer his questions.

Oliver Queen x Male!reader dating headcanons
*Rafael Silva used as fancast*
● you met Oliver at a bar one night after work, he tried to impress you by buying you the most expensive drink off the top shelf
● it worked, along with his charming personality
● and it certainly didn't hurt how handsome he was either
● so you went home with him that night
● and then the next night
● and again the next
● within weeks he was calling you his boyfriend
● but it wasn't until a year later when you just so happened to be at a bank that was being robbed and the green arrow saved the day
● you went to see Oliver that night and found him stitching up a bullet hole in his waist at the exact spot the green arrow had been shot in at the bank
● he tells you everything starting from getting stuck on Lian Yu
● oh yeah and that his best friends Dinah and Roy are also black canary and arsenal
● it takes some time to adjust to this new discovery
● Oliver gives you space but once it all settles in you're back to your old selves
● "So you're really okay with this?"
● "I fell in love with Oliver Queen and if you and the green arrow are a packaged deal than I'll just have to accept that"
● did he come home to you one day trying on his suit? Yes
● and did he find it hilarious when you got stuck trying to quickly take it off? Also yes
● he tries to teach you how to use his crossbow
● "you know this is a lot harder than it looks"
● "it takes a lot of practice, you could always go get stranded alone on an island for five years like I did"
● "no thanks I would go crazy if I didn't get to look at that pretty face of yours everyday"
● Oliver is the proudest boyfriend
● he loves to show you off when you go out
● especially to big wig business guys he's making deals with
● "this is my boyfriend Y/N, let me tell you his entire life story and how amazing he is"
● and he will take any chance he gets to celebrate your accomplishments
● you got a promotion at work and Oliver used his connections to get last minute reservations at the most exclusive restaurant in town and bought a brand new suit
● speaking of, Oliver should not have been as surprised as he was when you showed up to the restaurant in a bright green suit of your own
● "Hey its like I get to show off that my boyfriend is the green arrow without people knowing that my boyfriend is the green arrow"
● he's super romantic too, he has plans for every anniversary you could possibly think of
● and valentine's day is his favorite holiday
● it's the one day where he doesn't take advantage of his financial status to take you out on an unnecessarily extravagant date
● and instead sets up a quiet dinner at home
● he pretends that he made the intricate meal when the private chef he hired snuck out mere minutes before you arrived
● so maybe he still spent quite a bit of money on that
● and on the ridiculously expensive wine
●… and on the bouquets of roses that all over your home
● after two years you thought you had gotten used to Oliver being a superhero
● but then Dinah kicks down your door as she and Roy carries in Oliver who is bloody and beat to hell, barely conscious
● "what the hell happened!"
● Dinah "deathstroke ambushed us"
● "look at him, he should be at the hospital!"
● Roy "and tell them what? That Oliver Queen is the green arrow?"
● you're pacing around as Dinah and Roy patch him up and he finally comes back to
● "Oh my god, Ollie you're okay, I thought you were going to die," you say kissing him
● "you can't get rid of me that easy" he jokes
● "it's not funny Oliver I was really scared"
● "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you"
● Roy "I hate to say it but this kind of thing comes with the territory of dating a superhero Y/N"
● Dinah "this isn't going to be the last time something like this will happen and next time it could be worse are you going to be able to handle that?"
● "I meant it when I said that I accept you and the green arrow are a packaged deal Oliver, I love you and I'm not going anywhere"
● Oliver "I love you too Y/N"

Okay, so — many people from the Alex Rider fandom have seen Slow Horses, myself I have not, but I’m thinking about it. But hear me out
Rider Family Headcanons + Fan cast (in my opinion)
— Ian had been more lenient on Alex than John would’ve been, but he was never really strict with him. But when Alex was young he was strict about Bedtimes, Dinners and so on, giving his nephew want he needed (School supplies, jackets, etc')
— John never really was close with Ian, despite them being brothers they were opposite in childhood, Ian being more of the nerdy, literal version of John. John was more of the “Hey, let’s go skateboard and be reckless” type, never hanging out with girls besides his mates girlfriends.
— The way Alex remembers his father is through pictures, and polaroids Jack gave him or he found in Ian’s office. He had always wondered why he had been described as looking more like his uncle then his father till he saw pictures of the muscular, tall and broad shouldered man that was his father, his slightly long hair reminded him of his own but he looked more like “uncle Ian” than “John Rider”.
— Alex and Ian, horrible cooks. Jack must show them the ropes of simple soup — and how to make steak, chicken and other British dishes.
— Little Alex used to tug on Jack and Ian, to show them his little drawings he made with the oil pastels at school or of the time when Ian had been working on something in his office, the door cracked open — Alex would kick it in softly to hang up yet another piece of art or work he did in lessons that day.
— Most songs that were muffled behind Ian’s closed door was classic or old rock, Jazz was the most common for Jack though; Alex had memorized the songs being played throughout the years, making a list of his favorites.
— John was one of many people who played Football, Ian being so involved with his books still came to each game; getting driven to the library by his brother was common, John was strict about seatbelts, firmly telling the younger one “Put your seatbelt on, even in short distance, you never know.” And that stuck with him ever since.

Fancast
Alex Rider — Otto Farrant
Yassen Gregorovich — Vasiliy Stepanov (Young)
John Rider — Jack Lowden
Ian Rider — Alex Pettyfer
Jack Starbright — Holland Roden
Alan Blunt — Stephen Dillane
Mrs Jones (Tulip Jones) — Mariska Hargitay (Young)
Will make my Yalex headcanons after this !

which line from the novel most represents it as a whole?
who are your character faceclaims?
In her worst nightmares, the King dies, and Elizabeth is never safe. On their way to claim her kingdom, Anne's brother is arrested, and the Princess is sent to the Tower 'for her own protection', by the official line, but truly, she is arrested as the rival heir, as it was for her own grand-uncles, as it was for their maternal ones. As those doors are shut and locked, the signatures of all the men that swore to uphold her as heiress to the throne are thrown into a great bonfire. As the smoke swirls and the embers fly and rise unto those high-storied accomodations, mingling with the mist off the Thames, she can never reach through the surreal gauze of both to break their fortressed windows.
I have so many! I really like Alessandra Mastronardi:
For Anne and for Henry, I'm still stuck on Jack Hawkins...
fancast review reply. also, go to tagged/jane boleyn or tagged/viscountess rochford , tagged/countess of wiltshire <3

OK, below the fold another slightly more spoilery but not ACTUALLY FACTUALLY spoilery (I carefully removed all details) thing from E1-2 of Good Omens 2, specifically related to John Finnemore
So JF’s minisode is in Episode 2 and as I mentioned in the other post it is easily the best thing in those two episodes. Not necessarily a reflection on the rest of the scenes, because they’re clearly setup and the minisode is a complete story, but it’s also just very very good.
The highest compliment I can give it is that it felt like an episode of Double Acts, just visual and with too many people strictly speaking for a Double Act (but, you know, the right number for the thing it is). It definitely really GETS the Crowley/Aziraphale dynamic, it has a very funny running callback to the Flood scene from S1E3 that tickled me a lot, all the characters are used very well, it has some fun with the Davison-Tennant stunt casting, but most of all, and the reason for the Double Acts comparison, it has that classic JF “you don’t even know he’s seeding clues to the dramatic denouement” thing that he does so well in JFDA. That moment when it all comes together is kind of delicious and very characteristic of his work. Neil called it “wise” and theologically speaking… well I never really went to JF for his take on religion and I don’t think much of his version of the Biblical story in question is going to particularly surprise anyone, exactly, but that’s not remotely the point. Where he really shines in the minisode is in how he uses that to expand on the dynamics of a) the characters in their roles in angelic/demonic society and b) the characters as, well, characters, particularly Aziraphale and Crowley. He does it so cleverly and so beautifully and I adored it. I felt like it filled in super valuable missing gaps, but even more so made them just jump right out of the screen. (It is also, genuinely, super funny. But that’s a given.)
Basically, be excited for this!
Also when I was stuck in traffic in my Uber home last night I fancasted the minisode with JFSP castmembers but as that will give away minor plot points and I can only use one cut per post that will have to wait.
#john finnemore#good omens season 2#good omens 2#go2#go2 spoilers#good omens spoilers#gos2spoilers#gos2 spoilers#i mean I guess they’re spoilers in that if you want to know NOTHING about the episodes you shouldn’t read this#but really it’s more of a spoiler-free review I’d say?

hello, hero! for anna ryder and rose cousland, could i know these: 4, 5, 6, 7, 11, 21, 23, 25!!
Anna Ryder
4) What color or colors do you most associate with your OC?
Maroon, Amber, Blue, Purple
5) Any animals you most associate with your OC?
Not really. Anna isn't much of a pet person, Alliance life didn't really allow for one and even before that her parents were too busy to take care of a pet plus twins. In Andromeda Scott gets a pyjack and Anna finds it somewhat cute.
6) Any flowers you associate with your OC?
Queen Anne's Lace, Daffodils, Dandelions
7) Does your OC have a favorite and least favorite food?
Anna doesn't care for winter squashes, she doesn't like the texture. Her favorite is anything noodles, easy to carry in a bowl/eat while trying to catch up on reports/etc
11) What actor or voice actor do you see best playing as your OC?
I haven't really given this much thought for Anna only because I mainly use her CC when getting fanart created. That being said, I could see Agam Darshi being a faceclaim for Anna.
21) Any embarrassing secrets your OC demands you take to the grave but you will share anyway?
Her first time snowboarding, she had a hard time finding her balance and went ass over teakettle right in front of a girl she was crushing on. Face full of powder, Anna managed to get up without too much trouble but that ended up having the girl ask if she was alright and Anna managing to flirt (somewhat) successfully with her. They ended up going out on a few dates so it worked out in the end.
Then when the Tempest first landed on Aya she was so excited to explore that she tripped over her own feet and nearly ate grass. But she managed to right herself and endured the jokes from the crew, brushing it off with a crack of her own.
23) Is your OC religious and what religion? If it’s a fictional religion for your story please give a summary of the core teachings of their faith?
Not really. Alec and Ellen weren't super religious, their mom more because of her science background and Alec just because, so they never really encouraged it with Scott and Anna. They did try to teach them to be nice but firm, to stand up for what was wrong but also be kind, and to help those in need though.
25) The name you chose for your OC, why did you chose it?
I wanted something that I could shorten, that Anna would only be called when she was in trouble (which ended up being A Lot). At the time I was reading War Storm by Victoria Aveyard where one of the characters has the nickname 'Nanabel' and that stuck with me so I decided to go in that direction and came up with Annabel, eventually deciding that she had a vague US Southern/Hispanic background.
Rose Cousland
4) What color or colors do you most associate with your OC?
Black, Silver, Dark Blue
5) Any animals you most associate with your OC?
Her mabari Griffins. She's had Griffins since he was a puppy and wouldn't know what to do if he wasn't in her life. She dares anyone to tell her that she can't have a Marbari in the castle.
6) Any flowers you associate with your OC?
Roses obliviously :P but also sunflowers and snow drops.
7) Does your OC have a favorite and least favorite food?
Rose is a fan of bread, especially if it's fresh from the oven. Also once Zevran introduces her to Antivan dishes, she's a big fan of the spices. Doesn't really care for "travel rations" (aka hardtack & cheese) but knows that when they're on the road there's not much choice.
11) What actor or voice actor do you see best playing as your OC?
I've fancasted Gemma Arterton as Rose, specifically from Hansel & Gretel: Witchhunters because she had the vibe I was looking for in the movie (but with redder hair).
21) Any embarrassing secrets your OC demands you take to the grave but you will share anyway?
Rose is somewhat afraid of the dark, she needs a candle burning in her room once the sun starts setting and can't fall asleep if it's completely dark.
23) Is your OC religious and what religion? If it’s a fictional religion for your story please give a summary of the core teachings of their faith?
Rose had to sit through Chantry services while at Highever, it was expected of her as the Teryn's daughter, and only loosely followed the teachings of the church. Then Highever got razed and she turned her back on Andraste and the Chantry, angry and confused at how she could let that happen since her parents had been devout followers of Andraste. She doesn't belittle Leliana for her beliefs, but at the same time she doesn't try to go back to the Chantry and the Maker.
Once she becomes Queen, Rose knows that she has to at least attend one service a week, but at the same time she tries to find an excuse not to go if she can help it.
25) The name you chose for your OC, why did you chose it?
This was before I fully fleshed out my Cousland Warden and wanted to just jump into the game. A friend on here had been talking about Titanic/Doctor Who and Rose so that was at the forefront of my mind so I went with that.
#anderfels#rose cousland#annabel ryder#ask meme#mass effect#dragon age origins#sorry for the delay#these were good questions though!

Hi 👋
I just saw your crossover (Agent 47 x Ilsa Faust) & I absolutely love it.
What made you think of this Pairing ?
And will there be a fanfic ?
Hello! It was an role playing game I had with my friend that made me think of that. I'm not certain if there will be a fanfic, but maybe I will write something if I have progress in the game.
The plot basically is Ilsa getting into suicide mission that involves a huge conspiracy regarding government AI system that prevents crimes and The Syndicate wants to get their hands on it. She is left alone against an army of disavowed agents (just like herself) and is suddenly saved by a mysterious man that calls himself Agent 47. Someone hired him to protect her and the AI she was trusted with by the Creator. The plot itself is bound to Victoria as well as Solomon Lane and the rivalry between to AI that represent cold strategic thinking (Sol) and human morales (Machine) that were initially meant to be working together, but the government saw no use for the Machine, since it was more of a burden to them that affected the success of their operations (fuck morals, fuck humanity). (We wanted to compare Agent and Ilsa to these AI's since they both share some qualities with them. Sol would try to recruit Agent, but would fail since he is bound by a contract, and the Machine has chosen Ilsa as her asset since she was in complicated situation ans couldn't refuse, also, she has all the qualities Machine needs. We wanted to show how this strange companionship is actually is working out to be very efficient).
So, we have this strange team of Agent and Ilsa that is slowly going insane under the pressure of this situation she finds herself in, since it's all so mich bigger than her and so much is at stake. In her past, Ilsa was trying to investigate the Corporation that was creating and providing killers such as Agent, but she didn't succeed, so seeing Agent 47 in person and being a part of a contract herself is a big shock for her as well. I always wanted to play few comedic scenes with Ilsa, Agent and Victoria together as found family trying to pose as someone absolutely normal (they're undercover) but there's absolutely NOTHING normal about these three goofballs. We wanted to discover all these characters personalities and how they would act if they were brought together by complicated situation.
Also, I've never really played Hitman, but recently I bought few games and I will play it. Maybe I will get an idea and post something, but for now,all I have is my rp that is a little stuck right now since I burned out, and fanart.
Glad you liked it. It's actually a crossover of Mission Impossible, Hitman and a little bit of Person of Interest, since there's also such character as Machine, which is an AI.
Also we kept joking what Ilsa literally looks identical to Diana. Especially in MI5. Rebecca Ferguson is one of the most popular fancasts for Diana.
My friend introduced me to Hitman almost 10 years later since I played it as a teen and he showed me the depth of the character, basically, making me fall in love with Agent 47
(Yes and Michael Fassbener was in a movie with Rebecca, I think they could actually be great casting if there's another decent Hitman movie)
And I think Thomasin is great as Victoria.
Thanks for your question, I think It might've reignited my interest in this story...
#ilsa faust#mission impossible#agent 47#hitman#person of interest#I finally got a question I'm so happy#info dump#hitman fancast#michael fassbender#diana burnwood#victoria#thomasin mckenzie#solomon lane#machine#sol#i wrote this response in early morning and i cringe at my mistakes now

A little bit different of a fancast for today, but I haven't been able to get the idea of an animated Hunger Games series out of my head for months now. So I propose not a traditional acting cast of the Hunger Games characters, but a voice cast. I have a bit of a bias for musical theater actors, but can I help it that they are literally some of the most talented people out there?
Starting off with Katniss. Obviously, we need a singer! Even if she only canonically sings a handful of times, even speaking she should have the vocal control of a singer. For that reason, I'm picking Ariana Debose. She's had voice acting experience with Disney in their upcoming film Wish and won and Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in West Side Story so she's clearly very talented and has experience in voice acting. Here's a clip from WSS just to show her acting chops:
youtube
I would be just as happy with Eva Noblezada as Katniss. She's a Tony-nominated actress who did a movie starring as a country singer (Yellow Rose), so she's shown she can do a Southern accent should this hypothetical series really go for the Appalachian aspect to D12 (which they should). And she's Filipino-Mexican American. Really either of these women would be amazing as a voice actress for Katniss.
Now Peeta. We need someone charming and genuine. And one of people who came to mind and really stuck there is Jordan Fisher, who's starred in Dear Evan Hansen on Broadway in the title role and is currently in Sweeney Todd, but would likely be most recognized by his role in To All The Boys: P.S. I Love You as John Ambrose. He also has some experience voice acting with various projects. Here's some clips of him as John Ambrose:
youtube
So just imagine these voices coming out of animated characters drawn to look like Katniss and Peeta, in a series with time to tell the story properly, and tell me that wouldn't be the absolute most amazing thing ever.

Movies/books that summarize you: All throughout middle/high school, I was convinced that "Fangirl" by Rainbow Rowell was going to be the perfect summary of me in college. I was pretty much right. I'm just studying a different thing and I'm a little lonlier (where the hell's my Levi, universe?)
Favorite song: I don't usually have a favorite song... I'm into "We'll Never Have Sex" by Leith Ross, the entirety of Jonah Kagen's EP and Olly Murs's new album. (And Midnights by Taylor Swift, but most of you know that already)
Favorite instrument: Saxophone. I used to play it. But even if I hadn't, it's fucking gorgeous when played well.
Aesthetic: I don't think I really have one right now, but I want to have a dark academia aesthetic. I blame Dead Poets Society for that.
Favorite author: Hazel Hayes. I'm still thinking about her book.
Random fun fact: I recently learned that I can quote a scene from House MD. That one scene where House spikes Wilson's coffee in the hopes of proving that Wilson is on antidepressants. Yeah, I can quote that one. Don't know why or when I memorized it but oh well.

ask game! 🎯🤩💘💭🎬
🎯 Do you have a writing milestone you’re working towards?
i'm working on finishing out my current wip, and getting it up to a nice even 10k. more generally, my current total word count of posted works is about 30k, but i hope to get it in the six figures by the end of the year.
🤩 What led to your interest in the fandom?
i watched death note for the first time a few years ago, and i liked it, but i didn't really get obsessed with it like i am now. recently, i ended up stuck at home for about a month with schedule reasons meaning that everyone i knew irl was busy, and bingewatched the entire show again. this time, i got really into it, and since i had already started writing fic, i decided to try my hand at writing some death note stuff after finishing my previous wip.
💘 Is it easier to write angst or fluff?
oooh this one is complicated lmao,,, i am a bit of a pantser, but i normally have very lighthearted story ideas in the beginning, which get weirdly angsty in the middle, before i finish the fic and take it back to fluff. i would say angst is easier, though!
💭 What inspires you and your writing?
a lot of stuff, but for death note fics, i'd say the musical inspires me the most out of all the adaptations. i especially like the ending, and if i ever want to write a sad ending for them, i am 100% stealing it from the musical. i also have a playlist of songs that remind me of death note and its characters! it's mostly sadder songs, since i mostly listen to sadder songs, which might be a factor in all my wips turning into angst lol.
🎬 If a movie or show were based on your fic, which fic would you choose and who would you fancast?
i'd probably choose teenagers, since it's the one i'm currently working on! when i finish it, i have an idea for a longfic (remisa fantasy au) that i'm really excited about, but i have a problem with getting ahead of myself and starting a new fic right before i finish up my last. since the main cast is light, L, mello, matt and near, I would probably go with the actors from the japanese stage recording of the musical for light and L, and for near, i would probably go with his actor from the drama (hopefully with a slightly better wig). i'm not sure who i would choose for mello and matt, though.
thanks for sending this!

Whole dang fancasts. 😉👍
Anyone paying attention to my posts probably recognizes Tal the easiest. He was 100% the first one picked almost right from the start, and the most blatantly referenced when I'm drawing everyone. Alex essentially decided Tal's appearance for me two years ago, which I hadn't yet defined when these babies were all in their infancy as minor side characters. I think in the discord I was just like "all I know is as a life-long soldier, and a guy whose armor gets stolen and worn by a Very Tall Boy(TM), he's gotta have a bigger build". Then when @croy-on-a-working-vacation borrowed him in her fic, she described him a little bit and it didn't really hard contradict anything that was in my head yet, so I went "sure why not" and it started to inform my imagination a liiittle bit, but that's all I'd decided so far until I suddenly pointed at my TV screen watching TRoP S1 and just went "😯 guys ...✨️HIM✨️".
Meanwhile, the others had a longer chance to form visually more in my head first as I wrote more and they appeared more and more instead of being one-off characters, and I then looked for people who gave me those vibes, so it took me a while to decide on the rest. Kandri's was probably decided last, just because as a half-theelin, the human features were less important to match than picking for overall mood and delivery, and then when it hit me with Aubrey it was like "oh duh".
Becky honestly was pretty wide open because her main defining physical appearance thing is her big poofy blonde ponytail. Is she even a natural blonde? Would she even tell? 😉 Anyway, at her original conception, she could have been played by any number of generically pretty white girl actors as the whole joke of choosing her name was going super generic North American white girl on purpose (the blue crew all using their real life Earth names amongst the super Star Wars immersion was the joke). Obviously she's had more of a personality and backstory fleshed out since then. Brit from Viva La Dirt League hadn't really been on my radar for Becky until they added her into the 'Bored' show as... well, almost literally Becky. She suddenly was playing this Type A overachiever customer service employee and my brain just flipped a switch and went "Becky from Batuu who grew up on a family ranch is... Australian. Obviously." and this made perfect sense to me and has stuck. Boom, another fancast immediately done.
And the only flaw in Patrick is that he's technically too tall for our short king Jeremy, but the rest of him and his vibe was too accurate for me to ignore. When I randomly write him as having a crooked little smirk with a lil dimple that makes Tal weak, and then I finally find a crooked little smirk with a lil dimple, it's fate is it not? 😏
Does your OC have a voice claim?

IKEA GAME VERSE FANCAST
So I got bored... and decided to make a fancast for IKEA Verse, because I might as well. I stuck with Marinette, the boys, and Bruce for right now, until we meet the rest of the crew on screen. Assume Henry Cavil for Superman, Gal Gadot for Wonder Woman, and Michael Cane for Alfred. For most of these, I went off general looks/vibes. This is subject to change if anyone can give me better ideas!
Thaddea Grahm as Marinette (Age 19 in IKEA Game)
This one is based on a total look here. I never really had a fancast for Marinette, so I went and looked at a few others people had done and Thaddea popped up a few times. I love the sass in a lot of her headshots/pictures. She's a little older than I picture Marinette in the Verse - more in her mid 20's than her late teens like how I imagine Marinette, but I can let it slide.
David Mazouz as Damian (Age 19 in IKEA Game)
Young Bruce Wayne from Gotham, as my Damian? It's more likely than you think. I thought he did a great job as young Bruce, and I imagine Damian as like, a younger version of him. Of course, he would play him with a bit more sass and ferocity, but I think the season where Ra's has him hypnotized and nearly brainwashed to kill Alfred (yeah that happened, Gotham was a ride at times) kinda showed what he'd be like as a Damian.
Richard Madden as Dick Grayson (Age 32 in IKEA Game)
I mean, what else can I say, that this picture doesn't. I'm imagining Madden in his Cinderella Era from 2015, just a bit younger, to play Dick here. Give him a gymnast's body too of course, but otherwise, yeah Prince Charming with a bit of sass.
Jensen Ackles as Jason Todd (Age 29 in IKEA Game)
This is the fan cast that starts it all. I loved Jensen voicing Jason a fucking decade ago, and I've never been able to unsee him as Jason ever since. Every fanfic that I read has his voice as Jason. Including my own. I mean, come on look at that badass cosplay! He did that! Of course, this would be Jensen about a decade and a half ago at the end of his 20's for my Jason, but it's my fictional world I can cast who I want to.
Aiden Gallagher as Tim Drake (Age 26 in IKEA Game)
Okay, so I know Aiden is a bit young for this, but I don't care he's my perfect Tim Drake. Have you seen him play 5 in Umbrella Academy? No? Yes? Go watch a clip of 5 being a bit unhinged and asking for coffee, and there you go. That's my gremlin boy Tim Drake!
Tom Ellis as Bruce Wayne (Age 47 in IKEA Verse)
Do I think Ellis could actually pull off Batman? Maybe. Do I think he would give it a shot? Sure. Do I also think he's a dead ringer for David in 20+ years? Absolutely! He also does the sarcastic quipping and banter that my Bruce thrives on, as well as a genuine care for his children, and confusion about relatively day-to-day aspects of being a person because, he's well, a billionaire vigilante!
If anyone has ideas on who to play any others that pop up in my series, do not be afraid to add! I might even add it in as an official headcanon!

Dracula, The Witcher, and the Peter Cushing connection
So, no, I haven't had much new Witcher stuff posted in a while. Still got fics in the works there (the next bit of the Discworld crossover is coming along quite well), but I've been a mite distracted.
That little Dracula kick I was on a few months back evolved into an extended mission to watch all the Dracula adaptations – well, at least most of the major film versions (Nosferatu, the 1932 with Bela Lugosi, the 1958 with Christopher Lee, the 1979 with the hair, the insane 1992 Coppola one, the 2002 Guy Maddin silent-film ballet version with the hot Chinese Dracula...) And though I can't usually watch adaptations of anything I loved without compulsively nitpicking, I've been kind of loving all of them – but that's a subject for another post.
Hammer’s 1958 Dracula, starring Christopher Lee, isn’t necessarily the most iconic version, or even really my personal favourite – but it is where I got a little stuck. It’s the version that costars Peter Cushing as Van Helsing, being the same Cushing you may have seen cited as the visual inspiration for Blood and Wine's take on Regis – y’know, that Witcher-vampire I have been ever-so-slightly obsessed with for the past year or so. Up to this point, I knew Cushing mostly as that guy who played Grand Moff Tarkin in the first Star Wars film – but once it’s been pointed out to you, it’s pretty hard to miss.
We may as well note the irony of CDPR having modeled their vampire after an iconic vampire hunter. Actually, those sideburns aren't even Van Helsing's – these hail from Cushing's time starring as Victor Frankenstein in Hammer's other big-name high-gothic film franchise, which involves no vampires whatsoever.* Still, I suppose Baron-Dr-Cushinstein does spend a lot of time covered in blood and/or hanging around alchemical paraphernalia, which doesn't hurt for relevant visuals where Regis is concerned.
Whichever performance they may be referencing, CDPR’s design for Regis is a charming nod to classic horror cinema, and Cushing's skinny, mild-mannered, pleasantly-authoritative Van Helsing makes a more fitting choice for Regis than any of Hammer's actual vampires. You’d be hard-pressed to find any much better fantasy fancast for Regis than Cushing in his prime.
Now, primed as I obviously was to fall headfirst into what amounts to original-alternate-Regis fandom, the truth is I came out of Hammer's first Dracula film going, "well, that was pretty good – maybe I'll get around to the sequels at some point." But the series’ next entry didn’t do a lot for me (Brides of Dracula, which I am disappointed to say contains neither a) Dracula, nor b) any actual brides thereof), and Van Helsing isn’t even in the next four.
Not until Dracula A.D. 1972 does the series reunite both the original stars, Peter Cushing's Van Helsing (now playing his own grandson) and Christopher Lee's Dracula, and most critics seem to feel the series was long past its prime by this stage. But putting all expectations aside, in watching it, I discovered several things:
Van Helsing II having to calmly, authoritatively explain to a skeptical 70's cop that they’ve got a vampire problem on their hands and somehow pulling it off is EVERYTHING I never knew how much I wanted from this series.
If this film is garbage, it is emphatically MY KIND of garbage. I loved that Van Helsing vs. Dracula is now some kind of epic, generation-spanning rivalry; that Van Helsing II gets some real stakes via his (surprisingly likeable) granddaughter; I loved Johnny Alucard the beta-villain chewing all the scenery, why do people not like this movie?
Despite having aged about 14 years in real time (and perhaps several more internally**), Peter Cushing only gets better with age
I have officially fallen head over heels for this man's face ridiculous cheek bones everything
People, I do not do the whole celebrity-crush thing. Let alone over long-deceased actors from my grandparents' generation. But it quickly became Very Important that I watch pretty much everything Peter Cushing had ever been in. And Cushing (as I may have mentioned in a footnote around here somewhere) is an actor who kept busy.
If I had to summarise what made the Hammer Horror formula work, I think I’d have to go with “enjoyably trashy, but with a touch of class,” – and delving into through Cushing’s back-catalog is like making a laundry list of exactly that class of low-mid-budget 60′s-70′s British horror. Actors like Cushing and Lee lent a similar quality to those films that that Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen brought to the X-Men franchise: a bit of gravitas and a lot of style. Whether playing the hero or the villain, Cushing’s old-fashioned air of authority could carry off an awful lot.
In addition to Van Helsing, Dr. Frankenstein and Moff Tarkin, he also played Sherlock Holmes, an actual vampire, (sort of) Dr. Who, and even Mr Darcy (in a 1950′s TV adaptation of Pride and Prejudice that, to my great disappointment has long since been lost). Unavoidably, there are some films not even he and Lee combined could hope to save, but Cushing single-handedly makes a lot of otherwise-middling films worth watching. It’s a crying shame some of this stuff isn’t better known and remembered today. It’s as hard not to wonder that an actor of this calibre didn’t get to do more higher-brow work, but then again, to quote the man himself, Who wants to see me as Hamlet? Very few. But millions want to see me as Frankenstein so that's the one I do.
My Internet history tells me I first watched Dracula A.D. 1972 way back in May. Honestly, I was kind of expecting to be over it by now, and yet here I am.
Anyway, if you do share my taste in Witcher-vampires, may I also highly recommend Hammer’s Frankenstein series, their Carmilla adaptation, The Vampire Lovers, and 1959′s The Flesh and the Fiends (which is not a Hammer production, but still very much in that vein). Dark Corners’ youtube episodes on the Hammer Dracula and Frankenstein series are great introduction to both (even if I do feel they’re awfully unfair to what is now my favourite Dracula film).
Or if you’re reading this as a Peter Cushing fan, well, I can’t honestly pretend the main Witcher video game series will necessarily interest you – but there is this one relatively-standalone expansion pack called Blood and Wine that just might be worth your time...
* (back) Though to see Cushing at peak sideburns (pictured in the first comparison above), you’ll want 1959's The Flesh and the Fiends (which isn't technically a Hammer production at all, even though Cushing is basically still playing Frankenstein by way of Doctor Knox).
** (back) The story goes that Cushing spent the 70′s doing film after film because he’d recently lost his wife, and was desperately trying to bury his grief in work. Which only makes the number of grieving fathers and/or widowers he plays in his later years that much more ouch to see in effect.

Chris can u please please fancast part 8 I need to know how bad it would be
God.......these keep making me realize idk like any of the big actors now or at least the ones under fucking 40 now who the fuck are any of the 25 year olds playing high schoolers now and why do they have rabid fanbases the second they come out of the factory
Anyways major jojolion spoilers ahead 🥰🥰🥰
Josuke is dylan sprouse because they wanted to cast cole sprouse to get the jughead vibes but they fucked up. It works way better though because dylan is extremely confused the whole time because people wont stop calling him cole and referencing riverdale and it transfers to his acting <3
Yasuho is hunter Schafer because i can and will make trans yasuho canon idc also i get closer to googling euphoria cast more and more each time i do these and im sure she would do a good job playing yasuho because yasuho is gonna be an angsty manic pixie dream girl now :)
Rai is adam driver which is bad casting because adam driver has no ass and hes gonna play rai as very serious but like a broody sexy serious way so its even more inaccurate........reylos become railos
Joshu is ben platt who still thinks hes playing evan hansen if only because he can also pull off the lmm shitting his pants pose. Joshu becomes a misunderstood soft boy UwU 🥺
Norisuke is willem dabestie and he is losing it every scene especially compared to all the bland actors hes surrounded with like just imagine what would happen if he guest starred on riverdale and also had to be one of the 50 dilfs
Daiya is OBVIOUSLY katherine langford from 13 reason why because shes your new favorite actress from your new favorite show :)
Hato is scarlett Johansson because it would make me cry hato is gorgeous and im sorry scarlett Johansson is one of the ugliest women Hollywood tries to sell to me shes nothing
Jobin....who is the least dilfy actor...hmmm...david harbour the fucker from stranger things sorry he was a dilf in season 1 but 2 and 3 were very 🤨🤨🤨 i dont like the way youre interacting with your love interest mister and thats exactly what happens with jobin he is no longer peak wifeguy
Mitsuba is like...so im trying to get someone to capture the vibes of leonardo DiCaprio ditching his girlfriends once theyre like 26 but with jobin and mitsuba so im thinking like omg lili Reinhart the bestie the icon betty from riverdale herself <3 im actually not being sarcastic for once i think lili reinhart is really good but mitsuba is going to be a total ditzy trophy wife so like riverdale lili Reinhart is stuck making the best out of a role she's too good for idc
Omg i almost forgot kaato im so sorry kaato i want real milf hours so sigourney weaver idc shes hot as shit kaatos hot as shit listen i think we deserve ONE good casting and this is it
Tsurugi is like okay i know hes 9 but theyve got like a cgi reneesme baby thing going on and you can clearly see the actors just holding a doll in half the scenes
Kei is taissa farmiga you know the lady from like American horror story season one/three and like nothing else? The one whos like peak go girl give us nothing most of the time? Yeah shes kei because kei was also given nothing 😔😔😔
Kira is im sorry for going for low hanging fruit again but its timothee chalamet they have the same swoopy hair thats enough for me and i think he can probably pull of total asshole bad boy but women love him anyways because who fucking knows and kira is no longer just some weirdo hes a heartthrob 😔😔😔 i think for the flashbacks they make kira the popular bad boy and josefumi the nerdy nice boy fighting over karera
Josefumi is holy shit does anyone remember ansel elgort he used to be so big he was the hot young marketable man for a while despite his last name sounding like off brand gogurt but anyways hes mr the fault in our stars so you know hes got the right vibes of ya love interest for fanon josefumi
Karera is like fuck it shes Jennifer Lawrence she started acting again just in time UwU and they strip karera of all her actual weird girl tendencies and make her an omg so relatable quirky woman who somehow still has no personality
Tooru is the reigning king of fluffy hair andrew Garfield because everyone loves him but he doesnt get to have his cinnamon roll hair thats TOO fluffy and theyre not gonna pay makeup and hair ppl jack shit. I think mx. Garfield is totally down to play tooru and he can definitely do it like just do whatever he did in the social network i guess but the director is like no....be a nerdy awkward uwu man until the big twist that youre a villain 😮😮😮 and it doesnt work at all so tooru becomes a jumbled mess </3
Other notes
Yasugap canon....but at what cost...
Tooru x josuke is the reigning mlm ship and rai x yasuho becomes the reigning woman ends up with a man she detests ship because omg she can fix him even tho rais like fine and also every interaction they have is an argument
Kaato now only committed a little bit of accidental murder because we cant have women with flaws and actually doing awful shit also she and norisuke get back together
Daiya doesnt like prog rock now shes on stan twitter instead and thats half her personality just like it is for meeeee <3
I think the writers are really torn between making joshu purely a misunderstood nice guy or making him the incel that he is and making jokes about that so they do both and it ends up really gross but its not treated like that
I probably should have casted holly but im like 95 sure this becomes a total romcom with the main struggle being like josuke being torn between yasuho and karera since hes now the perfect man for her since kira and josefumi died and combined dvshjsjs meanwhile yasuho is torn between josuke and tooru
Kei is now a closeted lesbian with a crush on hato who is cishet 😔 and thats her conflict honestly wouldnt be surprised if they completely erase her being kiras sister
.....dance party ending

10 Anti LO Asks
1. ok but thats also i think i dont get? because without the series or character names, what of any of the promo images or banner or anything else give away it's supposed to be a greek mythology story? they just look like people with weird anatomy who are colored like highlighters. at the very least some iconography should be on them, but there's not? like even percy jackson stuff makes sure to give him a trident and have water flowing around him.
2. rachel made three times where persephone could have made the choice to be with hades willingly and didnt do it each time. first time she was drugged and put into his car, where he phsyically handles her unconscious body and puts her in his bed (ew). second is her working for him, which was hera forcing it. third was her going to the underworld not because she wanted to, but because she was hiding from the law/apollo and he found her. where exactly is her agency in all of this?
3. LO seems like the fast food of webtoons. because there's no room to speculate or theorize, you just read an episode and move on, the bright colors distract that it's a rushed and lazy product over something with high quality and effort, the characters are flat and boring, and the plot has no substance. it's meant to be consumed in a rapid binge, because if not you realize what low-effort and what little you're actually getting from it when you slow down and actually think about it.
4. i mean rachel does have some logic to her fancasting, the problem is it seems the only people of color are either demonized for being hypersexual (aphrodite, eros until he's with psyche) or are literally r//pists who are out to harm her white-fa casted persephone (apollo), so yeah, there is logic there, it's just pointing to rachel being (hopefully unintentionally) racist
5. It pisses me so much that I work over time (using references and looking at paintings and reading history for ideas for interesting character motifs) so that any of the ancient greek characters I draw look cool and authentically greek, and yet fucking Rachel Smythe, who can't even be bothered to do more than 5 seconds of research to learn that not all ancient greek outfits were shitty, minimalist off white and eggshell, gets to be revered as an artistic revolutionary. It pisses me off so. Fucking. Much. Not just for me, but for everyone else like me who absolutely ADORES greek mythology and wants to draw accurate portrayals of these characters! To whoever is reading this, stop. Stop rn and go read Sleep and His Brother Death (a comic on webtoons), go play Hades (the video game), go read The Song of Achilles (a book by Madeline Miller). Those are beautiful pieces of fiction about Greek mythology that deserve your attention more then Rachel and her shitty pink highlighter self inserts.
And a sidenote, I know that this is kinda like a modern AU for the gods. I am aware. Does not change that fact that anytime any character is drawn in ancient greek fashion it's always the SAME. SHITTY. CHITON. Maybe with a.cape or a scarf, but for the most part? It's just the same stupid, off white chiton.
6. oh, i thought you guys were joking persephone is now stuck with red eyes. is that seriously what look we're stuck with now? does rachel know it looks really ugly?
7. i feel like the lineart less style actually hurts LO in a way. way too often you can look at a panel and it becomes really murky where something starts and ends, and it looks even worse on a phone screen, because on an even smaller screen the images look even more compressed, making it even harder to tell stuff apart. this wouldnt be as bad if the comic took back up its more high contrast look from the begging, but now it's all one flat shade and im not sure why.
8. im really confused over the marketing of LO, tbh. like the ads are all hxp focused, but the series name implies its not about them, but focusing on the 12 olympians, but then the synopsis is general mythology and at the very end randomly mentions its about persephone? but then you read it and nots sure whether its a teen romance, a comedy, a serious drama, and can't stay straight with its messaging and timeline? and persephone is not there for a chunk of time. like whats actually going on?? 😭
9. Chapter 173 is like 50% filler. It gives more questions that answers, and not just from the reporters. Like the reporter stuff was mostly filler, and the Persphone and Hades stuff was like yeah we know dont need to drag this on.
My questions are WHAT ARE THE RED EYES? Is it when she’s mad? Horny? Sad? Happy? I feel like the red eyes just show up whenever RS wants to draw them
Flying? I feel like Persphone has always been flying like it wasn’t a bug moment at all. She flew home when Minthe and Hades kissed. But apperently Demeter didn’t know? I guess I don’t remember her flying in the mortal realm but her flying didn’t seem like a big moment, none of the other characters seemed surprised by it.
“Answer mine first!” When i got to that line I reread some of it just to find where the question was. That line normally matters when you’ve already asked the question not if you haven’t gotten there yet. Like of course Demeter is gonna be worried and ask a million questions.
I know the pomegranate pin is gonna be important but I felt the focus on it was a little too much, like an excuse not to cover more this chapter. Because honestly it felt like 5 minutes of the plot was covered in this chapter.
10. So uh, whats up with Hades weird ass comments... Like "Persephone you look beautiful and if someone says otherwise they can go play on the highway" ???
Because Persephone looking good during a murder trial is clearly the most important thing here.
Also, Perse's response to the reporter who asked her about her friendship with Hades. I mean, on one hand Persephone is right, her "friendship" (or whatever it is they have going on) is nobodies business but her own - but at the same time, its kinda also the underworld denizens right to know in the sense that their future leadership could be affected so they might want to know whats going on if their getting a new co-ruler / Queen that they will be subjects of. They probably will want to know who Persephone is, should she and Hades get married because it's very likely that when (cause lets be real its a 'when' not 'if' they get married) they do get married that Persephone will inherit half the title.
So, eh?
