I love your designs!!!
While I'm partial to characters gaining weight as a sign of healing, and fat redesigns in general, Ochako works especially well
Considering she would often skip meals entirely in order to save money, so seeing her fat at least implies that she's doing well financially

Also, I really love Himiko's casual clothes!
My Himichako timeskip designs since they’re both kicking and doing totally great together wdym !!
#bnha#togachako#ochako uraraka#himiko toga#maybe I'm biased#as a fat person who loves ochako#but fat ochako is the best#also I feel bad that I don't have much to say about himiko but I do also reallt love her design

Bakudeku Fics
This is a list of Bakugou Katsuki/Midoriya Izuku fics I like on AO3, if you have any recs for me feel free to send me some!
Updated 6/15/24
The Different Ways In Which I Can Call You Mine by EquinoxSolstice
~Apparently, Bakugou Katsuki is the kind of person that uses pet names when he's in a serious relationship. Who knew?
hiding in plain sight by saturnsorbit
~(a.k.a. katsuki and izuku are dating, they thought everyone knew. apparently not.)~
Every Saturday Afternoon by AmeCaeli
~Every week on the Saturday, Bakugou leaves the dorms and doesn't return until evening, and the bakusquad are determined to find out where he goes! However, none of them expected the results!~
Bakugou Katsuki’s Boyfriend by lunasayuu
~A quirkless Midoriya fic where him and Bakugou are WELL acquainted outside of their respective schools. Bakugou's mother throws a surprise birthday party for Bakugou’s 17th allowing the Class of 1A to learn more about his private life…~
mondays and sundays (and saturdays and fridays too) by eqyptiangold
~No one at UA believes that Katsuki Bakugou has a boyfriend at another school.
Especially not the adorable, freckled, curly green-haired boy that sneaks into the dorms with a sweet grin on his face while asking for “Kacchan.”~
The Curious Case of Mrs. Midoriya Izuku by EquinoxSolstice
~“Mon ami, you’re very fortunate indeed to have a wife that makes you bentos every single day! And she does it before she goes to work herself? How dévouée!”
An awkward scratch to the back of the head.
“T-Thank you. K-Kacchan will be happy to hear that… I think.”~
Pro Hero Dynamight is Dating WHO Now? by EquinoxSolstice
~Midoriya Izuku, known in the hero world as the leading quirk analyst of the modern times, was a typical young Japanese man. He’s a mumbling self-taught researcher, bonafide hero nerd, and self-proclaimed number one fan of retired hero but greatest-of-all-time, former Symbol of Peace All Might.~
Case Closed by spicymacaron
~The squad finally meets Bakugou’s mysterious long-distance boyfriend, Deku, but he’s not what they expect.~
a rose by any (other) name by HeyAssbuttImBatman todobakudeku
~Katsuki’s life is one giant cosmic joke, so of course something goes wrong when he’s sent on an easy mission to a mad scientist villain wannabe’s comic book lookin’ ass lab. Now he’s got an uncontrollable second quirk: he teleports directly to the side of the people whose name he speaks, which shouldn’t be a problem considering his penchant for rude nicknames.
At least, it wouldn’t be a problem if his big fat gay crush on the Pro Hero power couple of Todoroki and Midoriya didn’t make him say their real names with, frankly, pathetic frequency.~
Told You So by myshipsdontsail *New
~“Deku. When I become the number one hero, you’re going to marry me.” His red eyes stare at Deku’s intently.~
love in hidden places by saturnsorbit *New
~As the receptionist at Dynamight’s hero agency, lovingly called ‘Ground Zero’, Yui has had her fair share of run-ins with suitors seeking the pro hero’s affection.
So why did this one seem so different?~
A Hero by Any Other Name by SaysiWrites *New
~Bakugou loses his memory in a fight and has to meet his classmates all over again. Surprises are in store for those who thought they knew him.~
Who the fuck are you?! by miraculousemily47 *New
~Aizawa decides to test Class 2-A without their knowledge. He ropes Midoriya into it, but unfortunately for them, Bakugou knows his nerd too well to be fooled.~
ask for kacchan by deadwriter16
~After having to move out of Ochako's apartment, Izuku is in need of a new place to live. Thankfully, he finds an ad written by three people in need of a fourth roommate. Izuku immediately accepts, excited to meet them.~
Come Find Me in the Ashes by amarisllis
~Izuku has a resurrection quirk; he can bring things back from the dead. One year ago, just before he and Katsuki were set to start UA togther, he disappeared, and no one has seen him since. Katsuki, and everyone else, believed him to be dead.
Until now.~

Deku! He's definitely my favourite out of the whole franchise, he's so interesting and relatable. He's just a silly guy, I love him. 🥹
Bakugo! He's also one of my favourite characters, he's so fun to analyse and just an awesome character overall, still hoping he'll come back soon though. 🤞
Fat Gum! HEAR ME OUT ON THIS ONE. his design and personality?! everything about his is so UGHHH I just want to give him a big hug. ☹️
Toga! I even have a figure of her, come on. She's so well written and her whole backstory is just so touching, she's such a charismatic character as well. AND HER DESIGN?! OH GOD, I LOVE THAT. 🤩
Last but not least, my girl Ochako! She deserves so much like AGHHH she's so sweet and everything, I love the whole concept of her quirk and her design I just can't!! Also, I love her so much in volume 33 like...don't make me start on volume 33 because I won't stop. 🖐️

there’s an interesting thing to talk about regarding imitation through admiration and love that the story makes a distinction with
toga sets the criteria for love, which is imitation. but is all imitation romantic love? certainly not!
deku’s (who compared toga [and therefore ochako’s] feelings of him to his of allmights in 348) imitation of allmight led to his self destruction, and in imitating him he was trying to follow his path of the legacy of OFA without taking his feelings and personal wants into account and forging his own path that allmight (and the other OFA users) didn’t take — to have his friends by his side
tenya’s admiration of his brother caused him to imitate him to the point of wanting to kill stain
touya’s imitation of his father led him to believe he had no purpose outside of the goal enji set for him, and through that he lost his sense of self trying to follow in his footsteps
katsuki too struggled with trying to imitate allmight’s actions of winning alone and that caused him to spiral into a self destructive path as well
the story shows clearly imitation through admiration - the self destructive type due to trying to be like your hero
but the story also shows imitation through love, one that deku has stated can fulfill you in chapter 348
bakugou and deku’s imitation of one another is embedded in their “save to win/win to save” goals, and those instances shows them bettering themselves and growing as heroes instead of a hindrance
kirishima and mina’s imitation of one another also shows them growing as heroes, with kirishima copying mina’s act of bravery when he fought with fat gum and mina taking inspiration from unbreakable for acid man
togaocha and bkdk also parallel one another - i talk about that more here and here
but yeah, crazy!

shots that should have been in the second season 6 OP
so first of all disclaimer i havent seen any of season 6 and i go on tumblr about once a month these days bc i am so busy but i went on tumblr today bc why not and was greeted with this OP drama bc there's always something new to complain abt when bones is animating a new season of my hero academia! anyway here's this post which is like a combo of ranting and like weak analysis
ok now here's what i wouldve put in the OP:
shot of iida, bakugou, and uraraka standing in the rain and then the shot moves to a wide side profile to see dark deku standing across from them to kinda showcase who the THREE stars of the show were this arc (not counting deku bc he's the star of every arc)
iida, bkg, and uraraka all should've gotten individual sections in the OP with deku which i will explain
the final sequence before the chorus (izuocha handhold) should NOT have been izuocha it should have been bkg and then transitioned to iida and i will elaborate on this
so the part right before the chorus should have been bkg finding deku, and i get that spoilers had to be avoided but my idea is a shot of deku when he's getting dogpiled on by all those people except in a turn of surrealism that avoids spoilers the people instead begin to part like the red sea to let in this light, and deku looks up and his eyes light up and we see bakugou with one hand extended. so it gives the impression that he's important to the arc but it doesn't really allude to the idea of bkg specifically like finding and apologizing to deku because its a lot more symbolic
anyway after that the chorus starts and the scene should flip to deku actually taking someone's hand, but its obviously not bkgs hand and we pan out to see iida as the one taking his hand
so its like prechorus: bkg scene
that quick pause before the chorus starts that every anime opening has, you know the one: close up of deku taking someone's hand
chorus starts: pan out to see deku and iida holding hands
then i would've had like a shot of class 1-A watching them with uraraka close to the front - zoom in on uraraka and then move out and we've transitioned to ochako on top of the building, not with the megaphone or anything but just standing there looking all badass and hot and then we do the wide side profile thing again to see the crowd and like bkg and iida and others in the front and then deku by himself a couple steps forward watching her
and we've effectively avoided spoilers and showed the three important people who help deku get back home
and not gaslight anime onlys into thinking uraraka is the one who finds deku, gets deku to come back with them, gets the civilians to stop harassing deku, and then for some reason is also the one who apologizes to deku, and then later gets killed by shigaraki because shes the closest person to deku as oppose to his childhood friend he's known all his life who deku admires and shared his quirk with first and unlocked blackwhip because of - oh wait actually that was bc monoma was praising bkg and deku was like uh actually that guy sucks *unleashes blackwhip* bc as we all know deku hates bakugou and wants nothing to do with him (big fat /s)
sorry i got carried away and i don't edit my posts so you get to read my unfiltered rambling. anyway point is iida and bkg deserved better in that OP and also. horikoshi is so big on that hand symbolism and it should've been acknowledged. bc such a big thing for me is the way izuku and iidas handhold is so important and bkg is the one who pushes for it and its a kamino parallel, and then when bkg finds deku he likes catches him and stuff but never gets to hold his hand even when he extends it to him and uraraka holds dekus hand but its actually like. really casually handled in the manga? almost like their casual platonic touch is nowhere near the point of uraraka's speech. almost like they're friends who love each other and uraraka wants to make this speech for her friend but also for toga and because shes a hero who wants to help people???
anyway yes uraraka was important in this arc but her important scene was like 1/3 about deku and it was about deku in the most platonic way. like highkey she was like look at this pathetic little man let him in he needs a shower and then she went back to thinking gay thoughts about toga and then deku breaks down and cries because sometimes when ur friends do kind things for you it makes you emotional like when bkg apologizes and the light returns to dekus eyes and then he actually faints.
its all annoying bc i feel like bkg iida and uraraka were all super important this arc but uraraka was important in a way that was very separate from deku and established her as her own person while bkg and iida actually had a lot more to do with deku and then weren't acknowledged at all. istg bones better not fuck up iidas moment in the anime or bkgs apology or anything. i think people race to find the barest hint of romance in any izuocha interaction and i just kind of wish that didn't happen bc the last few manga arcs have established a really nice strong friendship between them and i wish the anime would just adhere to that and follow the manga and trust horikoshi. if u want some attention grabber straight romance kamijirou is right there being heterosexual in the most bisexual way like focus on them
apologies for this incredibly incoherent post i haven't like actually seriously posted on tumblr in forever and this is what I've been reduced to now. this is my expected post quality from now on
#that got longer then expected#analysis/rant#thats a tag i havent used in a while#bnha season 6#bnha manga spoilers#bkdk#platonic bkdk#like i ship them but this post is more abt their platonic bond#izuku midoriya#tenya iida#the power of friendship#my hero academia#boku no hero academia#idk what to tag this but uh#me saying things that dont make sense#enjoy

part 2 of 5000 $ - shoto todoroki x fem!reader (1597 words)
part 1. (previous)
tw ; minors dni, angst, nsfw, toxic relationship, mention of cheating and breakup, shoto is a complete bastard here
you finally did it.
you broke up with him a week ago. for real this time, not like the last hundred times you'd yelled at him that he was a heartless jerk. just so he could get you into bed the second you calmed down.
no, you threw him in the trash the day after that party. by message, but it was a start.
even your social media status had gone from 'in a relationship' to 'single <3', you'd even reinstalled tinder, and accepted follow requests on instagram from those boys in the same class as you in college.
and shoto seemed to have abandoned you too. no news from him, and you hadn't even run into him on campus in the last few days.
so why did it still hurt to think about him ? why did your lips refuse to say his name ? and why the fuck did your sheets still smell like him despite the many machines ?
so you could tell that you felt a little joy when you saw this message.

he had sent you this two days ago.
and it's been two days, you've been wondering if it was a good idea to see him again right away.
never mind, you were already at his door. besides, you didn't have to talk to him, just take back what belonged to you and go home. it couldn't go wrong ? right ? it's ridiculous, you even had to convince yourself now.
you knocked, once, twice, three times. you could hear someone inside. and you knew he didn't have a roommate. this rich kid could buy the whole building if he wanted.
fuck. you just had to go in and get your stuff, and it's like you were never there. he wouldn't notice you were there.
you opened the door, and were surprised to see a second pair of shoes at the entrance next to shoto's sneakers. which is more like a pair of rather feminine shoes, pumps.
a strange feeling made you shiver. it wasn't like you to track down your exes, but you don't remember seeing a new girl with shoto on social medias.
slight, imperceptible sighs escaped from his room a little further into the apartment. bed squeaks, that male growl you knew all too well.
fuck. fucking hell.
you knew what it was, you knew what those noises were, who was causing them. why he had asked you to come and get those so-called forgotten things.
and yet you still walked to his room, your brain screaming at you to turn around and stay away from that boy and his unmitigated evil. your heart telling you the opposite, to keep going to find out if he still cared about you. no matter how small, you wanted to know, you had to know, if you ever meant anything to him.
or if you were just a joke, that he could throw a little money around.
"shoto, fuck, yes, right there oh fuc-"
you felt tears welling up in your eyes when you finally saw shoto vulgarly fucking a girl in that room, where you used to spend all your evenings.
but that wasn't the worst part. it was that he had taken your best friend to bed, ochako.
"you're so fucking good, i -" he says in a low voice.
he had already created that crack in your heart. but now ?
his blue and gray eyes finally met yours, his gaze was nothing but arrogance and contempt. the only things he ever felt for you. and even though he was fucking your best friend, busy pacing back and forth, he had the nerve to look you up and down. a smirk lit up his face.
and that asshole finally said the three words he never disdained to say to you.
"i love you ochako," he finally said, looking you straight in the eye. you're the best sex i've ever had. "
his words were spoken clearly, slowly, so that they were articulate for you to hear. a mixture of anger, and sorrow suddenly overtook you
as if you had come back to reality, you suddenly left the room. your steps were disordered, you had lost all your balance, gravity seemed to be slightly stronger. your hands dropped some objects on your way.
what was wrong with you? why?
ochako had finally noticed you after her orgasm, and weakly called out your name, as if begging you to come back would make things better. that he was cheating on you was one thing, but with her ? the one who had pushed you to leave him?
you could hear heavy footsteps following you down the hallway to the front door. and a muscular hand grabbed your wrist to turn you around in one simple motion.
obviously, who else ?
"so you just walk into people's houses without knocking now?"
wow, how did he manage to make you hate him a little more every time he opened his mouth ?
"stop it. don't mess with me. you sent me a message to come in today to get my stuff." your voice was firm.
his face was as haughty as ever, yet he already seemed a little more natural and relaxed than the other times. you would have found it attractive if it wasn't after a romp with your best friend.
"ah, that's right. and so it's okay? you got everything? "
his deceptively kind voice made you want to scream. to take anything and throw it at him. he still had this annoying habit of driving you crazy even after you'd broken up. you wanted to hurt him like he'd been hurting you for months.
but your shaky, broken voice didn't reflect your desires. you were about to cry.
"i don't understand why? why you're being so mean to me. i'm not stupid, shoto, i know that you invited me here today just to see you fuck her."
his face hadn't changed, nor had his eyes. he was glaring at you miserably. as usual.
"i was hoping we could talk if i came to your door so we could maybe work things out, get off to a good start." and it's true, that message he sent you had falsely given you false hope. and you had fallen off the deep end.
a slight sigh escaped his lips. that slight sigh that made the cup overflow.
"why do you care ? we broke up, right ?"he said it in such a carefree tone.
"fuk you shoto. fuck you. you don't even realize how fucking toxic you are! you throw money around to get what you want, you fuck with people and play with their feelings! you're a fucking asshole. and you're a lot like your father for someone who hates him deeply. "
your words of hatred and anger that you had been building up for weeks, for fucking months, poured out on him like a lava flow.
it was mean, it was sincere, and it hurt shoto. it hurt him to see that he had done too much this tim.
his emotionless gaze watched you get angry, cry, push him, hit him, dry your tears that he couldn't tell if they were of melancholy or rage. he saw you push his hand away as he tried desperately to calm you down.
you couldn't see it, too busy screaming and drying your tears, but you managed to wring a sincere expression from shoto.
he was just panicking. he was panicking because he knew he had crossed the point of no return. that not even $5,000 or $10,000 or even $50,000 would bring you back.
his love, full of flaws, who never knew a healthy role model from his parents, would not be enough to make you stay. not to leave him alone.
because we know the cliché, the rich boy who didn't know how to love. didn't even know how to make the one person who always cared about his own selfish self, stay. but that was shoto though. he was that boy who only had toxic love to give.
but please don't leave him for good, he was begging you mentally.
if he had put his pride aside to express himself or even make you understand, maybe you wouldn't have left.
"i hate you shoto todoroki. i fucking hate you. but know that you'll end up alone, you and your stupid money. and i'll be the first to laugh. "
fuck fuck fuckfuckfuckfuck.
" i- y/n just wait- "
he didn't think you'd hate him so much. the young man knew he was just an asshole with a fat bank account. he just thought that by fucking your best friend he'd get you to come back to him, out of desperation, out of a desperate love.
he didn't think he would feel such a pressure on his chest when he saw you slam the door, leaving him alone in the apartment with your best friend and a big hole in his heart.
he didn't think he'd regret his actions. he was a rich guy who always wanted what he wanted, whether it was money or sex. so you were easy. right ?
he never imagined that he would miss your perfume, your exasperating smiles, that he would miss you.
you were barely gone, and he knew he would miss you.
a/n ; i've never written such a nasty shoto sorry 😟 kinda want to leave this story like this...
please lemme know what you thought about this second part, should i make a third one ? (+ reblogs are appreciated <3)

Drawn to Battle
How the hero Miruko is a Blood Knight (Part 1)
The new vigilantes (which I again remind everyone is canon) gives some really interesting Miruko characterization that also really kind of fits a pattern, but one most fanon depictions of her ignore?
She’s always been super quick to fight first, ask questions later, but the darker aspects of this were kind pushed aside as “yes! spunky hot girl! She’s kind of like Katsuki.”
And yet I always felt this comparison was a bit.. lacking. Katsuki likes to fight, yes, and his conception of heroism has to do with victory, but there’s not there sheer need for violence for the thrill of it. And until the last vigilantes chapter we had scant characterization for Miruko that hinted it might be that for her, but nothing concrete.
That’s changed. The fact she’s being introduced in Vigilantes at the same time we see a flashback of Rappa, years ago, is pretty spot on to what now seems to be crucial to her personality.
This is Miruko as a high school student in a trip to Osaka. She’s wearing a touristy type of hat, but it’s her. Her friends in high school apparently call her ‘Ruko’.
Anyway, notice the way she specifically says ‘scent’. It’s portrayed as animalistic, almost, her love of fighting. Which is line with how Horikoshi often makes her seem in the main manga.
In this scene Miruko, by scent, has tracked down an underground illegal fight ring simply by her quirk. Mind you, she’s still a hero student on a trip. She might have a provisional license but this is definitely something the 1A kids would have been scolded for.
Miruko’s excitement, though, centers around the possibility of fighting. It’s fun to her, and she recognizes that through actual blood and sweat. Let’s look at the main manga for a moment; she was relieved, happy even that she could crush the noumus. That it was okay to kill since she didn’t have to hold back like she did for normal villains.

Team Up gave us a very clear repeat of this: Miruko’s praising Katsuki’s violent approach (and Deku and Ochako of course are a little perplexed by this), and her gung-ho attitude to fighting first, not asking questions. In line with her thinking that teaming up is cowardly, and that she stated her intent has always been to ‘beating up villains who scheme’, one wonders what her motivation is to be a hero.
We’ve come across lots of different heroes motivated by many different things. Some out of a need for glory and a feel that they are the best (Endeavor), some out of wanting to be a symbol to a broken society (Toshinori), some out of a need for fame (Uwabami, even Mt. Lady). We’re told glory and money are often the motivations in a conversation between Hawks and the Hunter Commission.
So, what is Miruko’s?
Let’s get back to Vigilantes. The most recent chapter as of writing this has a flashback to several years in the storyline, and given Rumi is around twenty six or twenty seven in the manga, and is also of the birth month group where she would have likely been the youngest in her class, it’s safe to say this was likely ten years ago as of the current manga storyline.
Rumi is shown on a school trip to Osaka with her classmates from a hero school in Hiroshima.
At the same time we see Knuckleduster, still a hero and undercover, going head to head with Rappa in an illegal underground quirk ring. Rappa as everyone will recall was all about fighting. That’s his motivation; the fight itself. He wants to go head to head, he’s all about fist to fist and even gets a little put out about Knuckleduster using a knife.
He is what we call a Blood Knight character:
Fighting is everything to the Blood Knight. He lives for it. It's not winning or losing, morality, the motives of his allies, or even the glory that drives this guy so much as it is the opportunity for a good fight. (Tv tropes)
Why does this matter? Characters are rarely introduced without some sort of narrative in mind. Vigilantes is a prequel manga that has given us the backstories of heroes before (Aizawa, Mic, and Midnight’s, or All Might’s being the main examples, or even Ingenium Sr.) so it’s clearly Miruko’s turn. And setting in a minor detail in canon (remember Rappa talks about illegal quirk fighting rings to Fat Gum) means that there needs to be a connection.
It’s too early to tell since Vigilantes has just started this arc with Miruko, but I think what’s happening is that we’re going to see just what Miruko stands for. And there’s a likelihood that she’s being pitted against Rappa (narratively for now) because she is very much like Rappa.
We’ve been told constantly that heroes and villains are part of the same coin. So, what is the difference between Miruko’s need to fight and Rappa’s? What’s the difference between two people who seem to live for the thrill of fighting first and foremost, with no need for allies and such? Maybe it’s just that Miruko got labeled a hero and Rappa a villain.

Chubby Chasers pt.1
Pairing: Izuku Midoriya x Reader, Mirio Togata x Reader, Hawks x Reader, Toshinori Yagi x Reader, Tomura Shigaraki x Reader, Katsuki Bakugou x Reader, Eijiro Kirishima/Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu x Reader, Trevor Belmont x Reader, Honey-senpai x Reader
Synopsis: Who would like chubbier girls and why? (Part 1)
Deku
You often base your type around your parents, believe it or not, and since Izuku is such a mama's boy, he'd probably have a thing for chubbier girls. I mean, canonly Ochako is chubby so that's enough evidence for me.
One time, you went to school without shorts on underneath your skirt and bent over in front of him. He had a nose bleed so bad, he had to be in Recovery Girl's office for the rest of the day. He'd really love watching your breasts bounce when you're riding his—
Mirio Togata
This boy loves all body types! But he does have a slight preference for bigger girls. Don't get him wrong, weight definitely isn't a deciding factor on who he wants to date. But, girls with some meat on their bones have a special place in his heart.
He loves cuddling and the more body mass you have, the warmer you are. Sinking his fingers into the pudge of your stomach makes him feel all warm inside. And he really loves how soft you feel under him when he pounds into you 🥴
Hawks
Hawks is very bird oriented. Look up "bird brain" in the dictionary and you'll see a picture of him. For him, If you're chubby, that means he's provided for you like a good mate. He's made sure that you don't feel like you need to worry about your next meal (a major ego boost for him). He would, in all honesty, make you chubbier.
A little fat means you're healthy in Hawk's eyes. It also plays into his breeding kink. More fat means you're more fertile, right?
All Might
Toshinori views fat, just like muscle, as a layer of protection. Now, he's a big man even in his small form, so it brings him some peace of mind knowing he won't break you if he was a little rough.
He knows he still has to restrain himself with you, but he's happy you can be manhandled a little aggressively. He especially likes feeling the plushness of your body under his hands as he forces you to take all of him. Youre a big girl; he knows you can handle it.
Shigaraki
His reason is perverted. He's a weeb; a degenerate, if you will. He likes how when you wear thigh highs the pudge of your thighs spills over. He feels like he's tainting you with his disgusting touch and that gets him going.
He especially likes thrusting between your soft thighs from behind and seeing the head of his cock peek out. Call him a nasty freak all you want. It'll only make him cum faster. All over your plump thighs. And he'll definitely enjoy being buried between you legs as he cleans your soft thighs with his tongue.
Katsuki Bakugou
I see Bakugou as the type to be into either chubby or muscular girls. And, in all honesty, I could see him being into feeding you. He loves to cook and he loves watching you eat the things he cooked. Like Hawks, he'd probably make you chubbier. But, more importantly, he loves the way your ass bounces against him when he fucks you from behind.
He'll be grabbing your love handles, your hips, and your ass all the time, especially in public. Not just because you get embarrassed, which is a plus, but because he's a possessive little shit. He wants everyone to know that that ass belongs to him 👀.
Kirishima/Tetsutetsu
They're sharing a reason because they're literally the exact same person. They'd be into bigger girl mostly because of their quirk. Where they're all hard muscle and even harder skin, you're soft curves and chubby cheeks. The feeling of your cushy body under their hard hands brings tears to their eyes 🥺. The gratification from marking up your body is also a plus.
They'll also relate to you if you don't feel like you're as pretty as the other girls at U.A. They often feel like their quirks are pretty basic compared to everyone else, but you could work to build yourselves up together.
Trevor Belmont
Is a thighs and ass man himself. And, sure he's all for having a strong woman who can physically put him in his place, but nothing beats the feeling of your thick thighs wrapped around his head. And after spending all day out fighting monsters, human and supernatural, he wants nothing more than to cuddle up to your soft body at the end of the day. It was also believed back then that the bigger the woman, the more fertile she was, and Trevor is eager to continue the Belmont bloodline 😏.
You might not have a "traditional" body, but the Belmonts were never a traditional family. And, if you don't believe his love of your body, he'd be more than happy to fuck you until you do 😁.
Honey-senpai
Now, hear me out! He doesn't exactly have a preference for chubby girls, but an affinity for them. He eats sweets for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which means you'll have to eat sweets for breakfast, lunch, and dinner if you're dating him. He doesn't like girls who are so concerned with their physical appearance to the point of denying themselves a piece of candy. Which seems harsh, but he likes girls who'll actively try to overcome their own weaknesses. He'll also want someone who'll eat with him unabashedly.
He's more sophisticated than the rest of these heathens, he's a stomach man. He'll rest his head on your stomach while he's eating sweets, and stay there once he's full. It'll get to the point where he loves cuddling up to you almost more than he does with Usa-chan.

Main Info of my BNHA Hogwarts AU series
Hello! This will be quite a masterlist to understand the main world around the “(In)feliciter, sentio me a te fascinatum esse praesertim” series on AO3. Here I will put all characters’ houses/roles and some other points I need to make clear. Their status as Muggle-born, half-blood and pureblood is actually not so relevant (except for some characters), but I still wanted to add it. Just a little note: in every installment I will repeat these details if they are important in that story – like, what is UA in the first installment, or Todoroki’s Hogwarts house in the second et cetera – but surely having them all listed in one place might be more comfortable for all readers.
As said in the first installment, the students in class 1-A and 1-B in the BNHA universe are all part of this “pre-Aurors” program (UA, aka “Union of pre-Aurors), which was born due to the Minister of Magic’s (Yeah, Wash, just for pure meme power) and the Head of the Auror Office’s (Endeavour, after All Might’s retirement) request. The League of Villains here is kind of a new group of Death Eaters that still quite worships the previous evil mages even after literal centuries from their departure. I don’t know if I’ll ever make a more “action-centered” installment, since I am really bad at writing “heavier” stuff, but this would be the enemy the students would face.
Again, as I mentioned in the first part, everyone must choose a nickname due to this rise of this organization to cover as much as possible their identities. So I will use the hero names the characters chose in the manga. Though even just some teachers (like Ectoplasm) preferred, for personal reasons, to mention only a nickname to the students too. In this case, just Nezu (Hogwarts’s headmaster) is aware of their real name. This was mostly needed due to some Heroes in BNHA who still don’t have a real name reveal. Regarding names, yes, the students will mostly use the surnames to call each other, and change only when they are really close to that one person, just like in canon. Considering the others use Harry’s surname too in the books, I thought that even here it could work. Also, maintaining that beautiful use of the first name in Japanese makes everything more special.
The course begins in the fifth year and ends in the seventh, it lasts two hours per session and there are four lessons each week. Due to its practicality and privacy, the Room of Requirement is the place where the course is attended, and only “Aurors in training”, Vlad, Aizawa and Joke know what they have to think about to make the class appear. The classroom is divided in two big parts, one for more “theoretical” studies and the other for dueling/sparring. Yeah, because I still can’t think that Aurors don’t get basic physical training in the books – okay that there is magic, but if you don’t have the wand for whatever reason, sometimes even a good punch can do wonders. No, this is not an excuse to create some sparring tension. Another note: the classroom (A and B) still remains, because, well, teaching forty students at once might be a tough challenge. Though, sometimes the two classes do lessons together anyway, especially dueling ones.
All the adults that in BNHA were pro heroes are now or teachers or Aurors. This doesn’t apply only to UA professors who are both (for the UA obviously the Ministry choose Aurors still in duty to teach the students). Camie, Inasa and Shishikura will appear later on. Camie is a Beauxbatons student, while the others study at Durmstrang. In my fic these two schools are now even more “affiliated” with the other, since the two headmasters are married. Camie is still a year older than the others, but due to some of her “problems” that will be explained in one of my fanfics in this series, she began going to school a year later than normal.
Regarding students with particular physical features (Ojirou’s tail, Hagakure’s invisibility, et cetera) they obviously disappear here, at least mostly. Hagakure for example loves Invisibility Cloaks and wears them frequently to prank others a little bit. Ojirou is an Animagus – so, well, his tail appears when he transforms – and Mina keeps his pink hair color due to her Metamorphmagus status. Though, these and other characters’ details (such as the reasons for their Auror name) will be included in the appropriate installments.
Now, here’s the whole list!

Misunderstanding- Bakugou Katsuki
Mentions body image issues
I’m not a skinny girl. Never have been. So I can’t believe I let the girls talk me into going to the beach. Normally I would wear shorts and a t-shirt to swim in but Mina just wouldn’t let me be! So here I am in the dressing room. Wearing high waisted bottoms and a bikini top that felt more like a bra. I’ve never wore this little in front of anyone and I’m freaking out.
I remember a moment last year when Jiro heard Mineta trying to peep at the girls through a weird hole in the wall. He mentioned everyone except her and she was a little let down at the time. Honestly, I’d rather have had him say nothing about me than what I heard him say... I know I shouldn’t feel bad about what Mineta, of all people, said but actually hearing someone say he might be scarred by seeing what I looked like hurt worse than just imagining someone thinking it.
I shake the thought from my head when I hear Mina and Momo call for me. I guess I’ve been in here for a while... I take a deep breath before walking out of the stall.
“Hot damn, (Y/N)! You look so hot!” Mina screeches at me in excitement. Momo nods alongside her. My face is hot from my blushing.
“You sure I can’t put on a shirt? I just feel exposed,” I mumble as I look at my reflection. It feels like I can see rolls everywhere. The stretch marks on my thighs and my arms are glaring at me.
“You look beautiful, (Y/N),” Momo smiles at me.
“Let’s go meet up with the other girls!” Mina grabs my hand and drags me behind her. I keep one arm circled around my waist. Trying to hide the pudge of my belly. The sooner I’m in the water the sooner I can hide from stares.
“That’s such a cute swimsuit, (Y/N)-Chan!” Ochako exclaims. Which cause the others to look toward me.
Dammit, Ochako. I love you, but really??
It doesn’t take long for the conversation to shift from my new swimsuit to our activities for the day and thank God for that. I tried to distract myself from feeling like people are judging me and focus on the girls talking around me but as soon as I see the boys walking up another wave of anxiety hits me.
Unfortunately for me, I have a crush on someone most consider rude and mean. I don’t want him to think I’m disgusting! I mean, he’s built like a damn model and I’m...
“Let’s hit the water!” Kaminari cheers before he and Sero race to the water. Soon everyone follows behind them, leaving me behind in the process. There goes my human shields...
I didn’t even realize I wasn’t alone until I heard a grunt and felt a jacket fall around my shoulders. I look over and see Bakugou with his signature scowl. He doesn’t pay me another glance before he makes his way to the water.
Oh.. I guess he couldn’t stand to look at me.. I mean, I expected this but shit if it doesn’t suck.
I sit on one of the towels I brought and watch everyone play in the water. I really just want to go home now. Any want to be in the water left as soon as Bakugou made it clear I was gross to look at.
~3rd POV~
Bakugou did not want to come to the beach but Kirishima wouldn’t leave him alone. Complaining about spending time with their classmates and shit. Bakugou didn’t give a rat’s ass about being around those shitty extras, but then he heard Mina say she convinced (Y/N) to come alone and he found himself agreeing.
He didn’t know why, but the girl made an impression on the blonde boy. She was strong and highly skilled with her quirk. She had this personality that made people flock to her. Somehow her magnetic personality worked on him too.
He had been standing around with the other boys from class, waiting for the girls to finish changing, when he saw her walk out with Mina. He couldn’t stop himself from staring. The way her hips curved out and her thighs... fuck.
He couldn’t help but be hyper aware of her. Somehow he came to know her micro expressions and mannerisms by heart. So when he saw her attempting to hide amongst the others and cover herself the best she could he found himself trying to find a way to help her from being uncomfortable. The only idea he thought of was putting his jacket around her to help her not be uncomfortable.
He fought against his creeping blush the entire time and went to the water to keep himself from ogling her any longer. He didn’t want to be a creep but it was hard not to stare at those thick thighs.
Kirishima looked around for a moment, looking for his friend and couldn’t see her anywhere in the water. He soon found her sitting on the beach with Bakugou’s jacket around her. Kiri, being Kiri, made his way out of the water to check on her.
“Hey, (Y/N), why won’t you come swim?” He asks as he sat beside her. He saw her sad face, maybe only for a second but he still saw it.
“I just... don’t want to right now. Go ahead and have fun!” She smiled, but it didn’t reach her eyes.
“It’ll only be fun if you come with,” he sighed and leaned back on his elbows, “What’s with the jacket? Trying to keep from getting burned?”
“In a sense...” she mumbled. She saw his questionable look and continued, “Bakugou dropped it around me. I guess I do need to cover up some,” the last statement whispered but Kirishima heard it.
“What are you talking about? The other girls are wearing a lot less,” he was confused.
“No, I mean... I don’t know. The other girls are more... fit. Than I am. I’m just...” she motioned to herself.
“I still don’t get it,” she groaned. She didn’t want to outright call herself fat or ugly but she didn’t want to continue this whole beating around the bush tangent.
“I’m big. I know that. I’ve never been little. I don’t like wearing stuff that shows off certain parts of me. Mina pushed me to wear this when normally I’d wear a shirt or shorts over my swim clothes,” she looked at Kiri to gauge his reaction. He just gave her a ‘continue’ expression, “I hate feeling like people think I look gross or something... so when Bakugou put his jacket around me I took that as...” she didn’t want to continue. The thought of her crush thinking she looked gross hurt.
“I don’t think it was the way you took it,” Kiri sighed. Being a girl is hard, thin or not. He came to learn this since living closely with his female classmates.
“What do you mean?” (Y/N) asked.
“Well, when you guys came out it was pretty obvious you felt uncomfortable so I think he was trying to be nice in his own way,” he smiled, “In my opinion I think you look great and anyone who thinks otherwise is just completely unmanly!” He stood up from his spot beside (Y/N), “So come swim with us!”
Across the beach, Bakugou watched as the two talked. He had this weird feeling in his chest. Like he wanted to punch Kirishima in the face. Not like his normal empty aggression but like he really wanted to hit him. He watched as (Y/N)’s expression went from kind of sad to her usual bright smile. The feeling in his chest became tighter.
“Yo Bakubro, why do you look like you want to murder someone?” Kaminari asked from his spot in the inner tube.
“Fuck off, dunce face,” Bakugou growled before moving away from the other blonde.
As Kirishima made his way back to his angry friend in the water, (Y/N) fought with herself internally before finding herself stripping from the jacket and making her own way into the water.
“Finally!” Mina cheered beside Tsu.
“Sorry I took a while,” (Y/N) smiled at her friends.
“What was that about, Shitty Hair?” Bakugou huffed.
“Just a misunderstanding. It’s all sorted now though,” Kirishima grinned. He saw how Bakugou’s glare only deepened before sighing, “She took your manly gesture wrong.”
“What manly gesture? Speak fucking normal!”
“She thought...”he glanced over to (Y/N) who now seemed more comfortable than before, “She took you giving her your jacket as a way of saying ‘cover up’ instead of trying to help her. I think I straightened it out though,” he sighed and began to float in the water.
Bakugou looked over to (Y/N), seeing her finally loosening up instead of trying to hide herself away like earlier. He was so confused about why she thought he wanted her to cover up. If anything he wanted to see more of her. He pushed the thought out of his head and decided to try to enjoy to cool water.
~~
“Man, I’m beat!” (Y/N) sighed loudly as she flopped onto the couch. The other girls followed suit.
“Heard,” Jiro groaned.
“It was a lot of fun though!” Toru chimed.
“Yeah, I’m glad I made you wear that swimsuit (Y/N)! You looked hot compared to the t-shirt and shorts you try to get away with,” Mina said before getting up to go shower.
“Yeah, I got to admit it was a lot more fun swimming without the extra fabric weighing me down,” (Y/N) laughed a little. After the initial anxiety, the day actually ended up being a lot of fun. For a little while longer the girls chatted before each going off to their rooms. Eventually it was just (Y/N) by herself. All the boys already went to bed, at least she thought they did. The sound of the elevator opening made her look up.
“Oh, hey Bakugou,” she smiled a little. He nodded at her before continuing to the kitchen, “Um, thanks for earlier.” She moved from the couch to the bar in the kitchen, “The jacket, I mean.” Bakugou didn’t say anything for a while so (Y/N) took this as her cue to leave. She was almost out of the living room when she heard him say something.
“I wasn’t trying to make you feel shitty,” it was different from his normal abrasive tone. (Y/N) turned and saw him standing, looking down at the counter where two cups of tea sat. She made her way back over and sat back at the bar. He pushed the cup towards her, “I just.. I saw how you kept trying to hide and I didn’t like how some of those perverts kept looking at you... I didn’t mean for you to get more self conscious.”
“Thanks, I’m sorry I took the gesture the wrong way initially. I’m just used to feeling like that, I guess,” she laughed but it wasn’t a happy laugh. It was a more of a self deprecating laugh.
“I don’t understand that shit,” she looked up at him in surprise, “I don’t know why you’re self conscious!” To an outsider it would seem like he’s mad, but to (Y/N) who has paid close attention to him for the past year and a half knew he really just didn’t understand. They were both quiet for a moment.
“Growing up, I was picked on about my size. I’ve never been a thin girl and with society these days... it’s hard to not have self image issues. For boys and girls. I try to love myself the way I am and just do my best, but when the media and even some peers keep shoving the unrealistic standards in my face day in and out.. it’s hard not to let those dark and hateful thoughts creep in,” she sighs and rubs a hand over her face.
“That’s fucked up.”
(Y/N) let out a bark of a laugh, “Yeah, it is. But, I’m gonna keep trying to get past these anxieties. I mean, I’m working towards being a hero right? I need to grow some thicker skin eventually,” she looked up at the boy across from her. His blonde hair shaggier than normal, from the day spent swimming. His eyes held something different than usual. They’re less sharp than normal.
“(Y/N), I... argh! Fuck it, good night!” He started to leave down the hallway but he felt her grab his hand. He looked back and she was facing the floor as she clutched his hand in hers.
“Bakugou, I need to tell you something...” he stayed silent to give her a chance to continue, “Earlier, back to the jacket thing. It wasn’t just me being self conscious and thinking I needed to cover up. I... I thought it was because you thought I was disgusting and that’s what sucked the most. I know people are gonna talk shit about my size. They have all my life, but the thought that you... you of all the possible people could find me gross hurt the most,” she finally looked up to meet his gaze, “I just.. I’ve liked you for a really long time. So, I’m happy that your reason earlier was not what I thought it was.”
Before Bakugou knew what he was doing, he found himself kissing his classmate. His crush. He was about to pull away when his brain caught up with his body, but then he felt (Y/N) kiss him back and pull him closer by his t-shirt. His hands moved to cup her cheeks and pulled away slightly.
“I’ve liked you for a while now. When I saw you walk out today, you just looked so damn hot. Like I said earlier, I didn’t want any of those pervs looking at you the way I was seeing you. I know that’s probably selfish but dammit... you’re just so fucking beautiful,” he kissed her again. He felt her smile against his lips which caused him to smile as well.
“Today really was a good day in the end,” she sighed. He hugged her close to him, loving the way her body felt against his.
“Damn right it was, but I gotta ask you something now,” he pulled away from (Y/N) and looked into her eyes with a serious expression now on his face.
“If I didn’t know you, Bakugou that look would be scary as hell,” she laughed which caused him to chuckle a little, “So what’s your question?”
“Wanna go on a date tomorrow?”

Hi!!! I hope you’re having a great day/ night/ whatever time it is when you see this! Can I get some head cannons for bakugou with a s/o who overhears some girls saying that he’d look better with (Insert character) because they’re skinnier, less clingy, a better match, blah blah blah and then the s/o tries to change herself to match what they’re describing and bakugous having none of it? This happened to me but my ex didn’t really care how I felt about it and I just wanna imagine it going better
You don't need to change
Genre: angst then fluff, comfort
A katsuki bakugo x reader
A/n: ITS GOOD TO BE BACK!! i've been playing minecraft with my friends the whole week and i've been craving to write that's why i decided to write this a day earlier! Anon, hope you feel better, your ex doesn't deserve you if they treat you like that. Hopefully i didn't made you guys wait too long!! Requests are still open with 6 slots so please request something. Without further ado, let's go!
You weren't the best looking in class, you knew that for a fact.
Ochako and momo have perfect bodies, tsuyu and hagakure have wonderful personalities, jiro and mina have always been favorites.
And here you are, different from the others.
You didn't have a perfect body or face or even a unique personality.
But somehow, one of the most hottest and explosive boy in school fell for you hard.
He didn't really bat an eye at other girls.
But you knew other girls looked at him in a way which made you feel even more insecure.
Bakugo insisted you go back to the dorms while he trained with kirishima so you walked the halls alone at the end of the day.
You were about to turn a corner when you heard voices, then your name.
"(y/n) and bakugo don't even look good together. She has too much fat on her and she has an ugly face."
"yeah, maybe ochako would fit the bill for him. She has a rocking bod. Did you see how pretty she is earlier? That's what bakugo deserves. Not a wannabe."
The 2 girls snickered and they walked off.
When you hear their footsteps go further and further away, you ran to the dorms and up to your room before anyone could see the tears stinging your eyes.
In the next few days, you started to act a bit more like the other girls.
You forced yourself to smile and laugh, copying their mannerisms and gestures.
You even opted to give your food away to others so you could start losing weight faster.
You started to wear more makeup than usual too, just to keep the new look up.
Though it looked like you were doing well, you were drained.
You needed to keep this happy facade up, to make everyone happy, especially bakugo.
He deserves better so you need to be the best.
He caught on quickly.
He saw that you weren't eating during breakfast or lunch anymore.
He noticed how your smile would falter for a second before going back to that smile.
He saw how much you added to your makeup just to cover blemishes that made you the person he loved.
He couldn't take it anymore. When everyone walked back to the dorms, bakugo immediately pulled you up to your room and sat you down on the edge of the bed where you started to fidget nervously.
This is it. He's gonna dump you. He's disgusted you knew it. He was just keeping this charade up so now he's gonna drop the bomb.
"(y/n) baby, what's going on with you?" his tone was soft and comforting that your shoulders stopped tensing.
You looked at your hands and drew out a shaky breath, trying to push your tears back.
"i-i heard some g-girls saying that ochako was better for you. S-so i tried to fix myself for your sake. Y-you deserve e-everything and i-"
You couldn't even finish your sentence when you feel two arms wrapped around you.
"i didn't fall in love with ochako dumbass, i fell in love with you. All of you. You don't need to change yourself whether that be your body or face or personality because-"
He cut himself off to kiss your lips and wipe your tears of your face.
"because i love you for who you are. Nothing's gonna change that. So don't listen to any of those extras okay?"
You nodded before wrapping your arms around his neck.
You eased into a cuddle session for the rest of the night.
First fic of the week, did you guys like it? Was it worth the wait? Hopefully it is! Requests are still very open with 6 slots so please request everything and anything! Hope you guys enjoyed! Love you 😘❤😘

Snow White's Unexpected Journey
Snow White's Unexpected Journey by VioletLunette
Once upon a time, there lived a young man named Snow White. Snow White lived a “heigh-ho” sort of life; He didn't have much, but he had Hizashi and that was enough. He had no desire for quest and adventures, or anything of the like. Yet his life was completely turned upside down when he learned that the king wanted to kill him. Forced to flee, he entered a forest where he changed his name to Shouta Aizawa and met seven dwarfs, who welcomed him into their home. However, when he discovers that his love is in peril, Shouta sets out on a quest to find the great hero of legends to help save him before it was too late. However, many dangers seek to impede Shouta and put an end to him and his quest including a mad Queen, a ruthless barbarian, and an army of demons. Regardless, Shouta would not be swayed. Whatever it took, he would save Hizashi. Updates every Sunday!

»»————- ✼ ————-««
Cool night air prickled your cheeks as the smell of damp grass filled your nose. The odd cricket chirping and the distant sounds of the city filled you with serenity. Unfortunately, serenity never lasted long when the lingering pain in your chest was caused by the heavy feeling of heartbreak.
The guy who you were in love with for 2 years decided to date your best friend. You saw the longing looks they gave one another in class, the all too loud giggles your best friend gave to him, and it hurt. A slow motion car crash of your emotions and reality. There wasn’t anything you could do to stop it and it broke you.
You wouldn’t trade your best friend for anything in the world. The sweet, bubbly, floaty girl with a cute name to match her cute personality. Ochako Uraraka. She was trustworthy, sweet, and so uplifting much like her quirk. You didn’t want to stop her from finding happiness and as her best friend, you needed to support whatever decision she made.
Never telling anyone about your affections for Bakugo Katsuki, you just kept it to pining from afar. He was loud, brash, rude, but you could see it in those crimson eyes that he cared. He cared about his friends, his grades, and his health, as much as he denied it. The determination to be at the top just made him seem all the more attractive to you.
The announcement he barked out to the class that he and Uraraka were dating made your heart drop to your stomach. Pins and needles stabbed your throat and eyes, burning your now empty chest as the class congratulated both parties.
Blaming your stinging eyes on allergies, you congratulated Ochako. Giving her a hug and a sweet smile as you flushed your romantic dreams down the drain.
You huddled more into the fluffy blanket you had wrapped around your shoulders, the cool grass on your legs feeling comforting on your warm skin. Sitting on the grass hill of the backyard of the UA dorms was your sanctuary, your little escape from everyday life.
Quiet music played from the speakers of your phone as you gazed up at the stars. The pain in your chest now soul crushing as you wondered ‘Would’ve anything changed if I just told him? Why am I such a coward? Why couldn’t I just tell him? I can’t. It’s too late now.’
Tears pricked the corner of your (e/c) eyes, the dam on your emotions breaking and rushing out like a tsunami as you desperately tried to hold it in. You needed to let it out, once and for all so you finally have a chance of getting over him.
Heavy, ugly, muffled sobs wracked from your body. Fat tears rolling down to your now pink cheeks as you tried to scrub them away with the corner of your blanket. Hiccuping and hyperventilating into the night air, you let out all your pent up feelings as quietly as you could.
“Hey, are you okay?” A cool voice rang out from behind, making you flinch mid sob.
Wiping your eyes with your blanket before turning around, you faced the last person you would expect. Todoroki Shoto, your friend and prince of class 3-A. Panic set in as you realized he probably caught you ugly sobbing.
“O-oh uhm hey Todoroki, yeah. I’ll be okay eventually.” Your scratchy voice called out. Cringing from the way you sounded as embarrassment seeped through your veins.
“Eventually? What happened, if you don’t mind me asking.” He concernedly asked as he sat down next to you in a bold but nonetheless socially clueless move.
He sat on your right side, so his left was next to you. That side screamed ‘warm and comforting’, everything you needed right now. You had to use every ounce of willpower to restrain yourself from snuggling up to him.
Gazing up at the stars again as you spoke, voice still hoarse from sobbing and eyes feeling sore after crying.
“You won’t tell anyone right?” You gazed at him expectantly.
A short nod from Todoroki came in response. With a sigh, you decided to spill the truth. Everything you felt for the last 2 years, the hurt, the love, and the sadness.
“I fell in love with a guy who didn’t love me back, Todoroki. He’s strong, stubborn, rough, but I know by the look in his eyes that he cares. He cares so much. He’s determined and will do anything to get to the top. I was a coward, I didn’t say anything to anyone. I just pined after him from afar like a fool.” You sniffed.
“I couldn’t find the courage to tell him, I wanted to. I desperately wanted to. But now he’s dating my best friend and I won’t get in the way of her happiness. I’ll be okay, I’m just purging all my feelings before I need to move on.” You poured out as you continued to look up at the twinkling stars.
He let out a deep sigh, his mismatched eyes staring up at the same sky as he was listening to your confession of failed love. He contemplated what to say next, knowing he wasn’t the best in dealing with emotions but refusing to leave you here by yourself.
“I knew you loved Bakugo, I could see it in your eyes. The way they slightly sparkled when you looked at him.” He spoke nonchalantly, not catching the hint sadness in his own smooth voice.
Wide shocked (e/c) eyes met blue and grey ones, earning a low chuckle from him.
“Don’t look at me like that, I’m observant you know?” He shot you a sly wink and soft smile.
You let out an airy hoarse laugh, it was nice seeing this side of Todoroki. Not the blank faced prince or the all powerful ice and fire user, but him. As a person, as someone who could joke and laugh.
“Yeah, I sometimes forget you’re just as smart as you are handsome.” You giggled, looking back up at the little spots of white in the black inky sky.
A faint dust of pink bloomed his cheeks, thankfully covered by the dark of night.
“I know what it’s like to love someone who doesn’t love you back. But time heals all wounds, even if it slow. So feel free to come talk to me if you need anything.” He spoke softly, glancing at you for a moment.
“Who wouldn’t love you back Todo? You’re the total package!” You exclaimed with a slight giggle. Sadness filled you once again, but not for you this time. For him. He deserved to be loved. And the girl he loved and didn’t even accept it. ‘At least I’m not the only fool in love here’ the thought ran through your head, finding solace in your pain.
A sad chuckle came from Todoroki, mismatched eyes dulled for a split second before he met your gaze. He loved you but he kept it quiet, much like you did. He didn’t want to bother you with his affections after you were painfully in love with someone else. He held in his love for you, the roots of your beautiful existence wrapping around his heart and squeezing tight whenever you were looking at another man. Kind (e/c) eyes, a loving personality, and how in touch you were with other people’s feelings really made him fall hard.
The lone cricket started up again in the distance as the wind got colder, forcing you to huddle into your blanket further. A comfortable silence fell over both of you. It was nice not feel alone in your pain. Misery loves company right?
“Here” Todoroki gently said as he moved closer. Heat radiated from your right side, your tired body mindlessly getting closer to the source. In an attempt to not leave his right side colder, you threw some of your blanket over him and laid your head on his shoulder.
“Thank you, Todoroki. For everything tonight. It really made me feel better.” You sighed, feeling like you could finally breathe for the first time in 2 years.
“It was no problem, (y/n). I’m glad I could help.” He had a small smile on his face, one that was so soft that it would’ve made you cry tears of joy. If only you were looking at him.
He noticed your eyes starting to flutter close and offered to walk you to your dorm, like the gentleman he was. You sleepily accepted his offer as you walked your way through the cool grass and headed into the building.
Making small talk with him was surprisingly easy, eventually landing on silly topics as you playfully debated your path through the dorms. Your sleepy giggles rang through the halls and blessed his ears as your slightly puffy eyes crinkled at an offhand joke he would try to make.
When you both arrived at your door, another comfortable silence fell over you two. Looking into each other’s eyes while your quiet laughs died down in the empty dim hall, it felt like the world just existed around the two of you. It was a world you didn’t want to leave so soon.
“Thank you again for everything Todoroki, don’t be a stranger okay?” Your slightly puffy eyes sparkled before you wrapped your arms around him and gave him a hug.
He froze at the contact, not fully sure what do to. ‘Should I hug her back? Should I just stand there like an idiot? What do I do?’ He panicked as you looked up at him, chin rested on his chest with the most adorable smile.
He slowly wrapped his strong toned arms around your smaller form, lightly squeezing you back as he wore the most love struck look on his face. Your smile brightened ever so slightly at the soft look he had but too caught up in your pain as to why.
Both of you bid your final good nights as you watched him walk away towards his dorm. With another sigh, you closed your door and flopped onto your bed. Today was rough no doubt. So after ugly sobbing and confessing your sins to a friend, you were refreshed yet exhausted.
»»————- ✼ ————-««
The annoying ring of your alarm promptly shook you out of your dreams. A loud groan escaped you as you got up and changed into gym clothes. It was a Saturday so today was quirk training.
Telekinesis was the quirk that ran in your family. Passing it down from daughter to daughter seemed to be the tradition, all the women in your family having the same quirk.
It wasn’t hard to get into the top 5 in your class, being trained by your loving mother from early youth to make things float from the young age of 4. Your abilities were strong, being able to lift a two story building shakily with only a slight headache as a side effect.
You grabbed a small bag of needles you had for training and shoved it in your mini backpack. Opting to head the small area of woods so you wouldn’t cause too much damage in the gym.
With your earbuds in and hype music playing, you jogged your way to the small clearing. Inhaling the fresh scent of trees and earthy soil made you feel refreshed, the shade of the trees was going to keep you cool when flexing your power.
You opened your backpack and pulled out the bag of needles, a faint red glow around your body as your normal (e/c) glowed bright red. The bag levitated in the air as the drawstring loosened and each needle floated in midair and got to training. (Shoutout to scarlet witch from marvel for the idea)
After you finished your rountine, you plopped down on the grass after your last set of heavy lifting with a tired huff. It was sunset now, the pretty colors of the sky illuminating like a painting as a soft golden light cast on your sweaty face.
Sitting there, you decided to stay for a bit longer. Grabbing your phone and changing from hype music to lofi (sue me I like lofi) set the mood for watching the multicolor sky.
The grass was once again your friend as your hot skin felt heavenly against the cool surface. As you sat under the beautiful sky, you realized how insignificant your problems were.
‘Heartbreak happens all the time so why should I dwell on it? I didnt even tell him plus he would’ve rejected me anyway so why sulk? I was a coward and I’m learning from that. And that’s okay.’ You thought, feeling your heart slowly stitch back together.
Telekinesis wasn’t your only talent, healing others was one you had as well. You were no doctor or nurse but you healed the wounds that hurt the most, the ones on your heart. People all over the school came to you let out frustration or simply just talk about what was bothering them.
Todoroki was someone you saw often in your first year, frequently knocking on your door and ranting about his father in the privacy of your room. That’s how you became friends. Now it was time for him to return the favor, helping you heal.
The sky went from painted neons to dusty blue, forcing you to pack up and head back home. Strolling your way through the dimly lit clearing before ending up back on campus.
The large building greeted you as you swiped your ID and padded your way to your room, greeting people with a smile on your way there.
You unlocked your room and plopped down your bag, realizing how sweaty you actually were. So you decided to take a shower. Grabbing your necessities, you made your way to the shared showers and went to scrubbing.
(F/s) flooded the small space as you washed your hair, steam relaxing your muscles and clearing up your head as you washed the past off your body. All feelings of heartbreak flooding down the drain as healing took its place.
“Maybe I wasn’t as in love with him as I thought” you absentmindedly mumbled as you stepped under the shower head to rinse suds off your body.
After finishing up your shower routine, you stepped out of the stall to change and brush your hair. Swiping on some skincare, deodorant, and perfume you made your way back to your room smelling nice and clean.
Walking down the halls, the muffled sounds of laughing and playful banter from behind closed doors made you smile. Strolling your way to your room, you put all your goodies away and got to studying.
Pulling out all your materials and tying your hair out of your face, you went to work. Jutting down notes and flash cards for the next test that would eventually would happen.
A sharp knock broke your concentration, making you look towards the noise. ‘Maybe someone needs to talk?’ you wondered.
“Come in!” You called, seeing the door open and a head of red and white hair peek out from the space.
“Hey Todoroki! What’s up?” You smiled at him. Shoto’s poor heart was bruising his ribs from how cute you were with messy hair.
“Oh, uh not much, but I wanted to know if it’s okay to talk?” His smooth voice awkwardly spat out, trying his hardest to keep cool in front of you.
“Of course!” You grinned, closing your book and turning around in your chair, motioning him to sit on your bed.
A comfortable familiarity warmed his heart as he sat ever so politely on the soft surface. The small smile on his handsome face as he remembered the nights where you told him what he needed to hear.
Where your sweet voice told him he didn’t deserve the treatment his father gave him. That his feelings were valid. The dazzling smile when you told him that you were proud of him for making the first steps with his mother.
“So what’s got you bothered, Todoroki?” You spoke, tucking a strand of loose hair behind your ear and gazing at him patiently.
“Actually, when I walked out and saw you sobbing is bothering me a lot. So are you okay? How do you feel?” He shyly spoke, nervously biting the inside of cheek. A habit he picked up from Izuku.
(E/c) eyes widened and soft lips parted a bit in surprise at his statement. You were baffled by this, sadly. Why does no one ask the mom friend how she feels?
The look of shock turned into a soft smile, aimed and fired at Todoroki. It turned his heart into goo while he gave own soft smile in immediate response.
“I’ll be okay, Todo. I’m healing a lot faster than I expected. Maybe I wasn’t as in love with him as I thought.” You shrugged.
A white brow quirked up in silent curiosity. The ever so clueless look on his face and the slight head tilt made him look almost like a confused puppy. How you wish he had the cute ears.
A light giggle escaped you, internally squealing at the cute look on his handsome face. ‘Who knew such a handsome prince could turn into a puppy?’ You cooed.
“After crying it all out and watching the sunset today, I realized this happens all the time and how insignificant my problem is. So why dwell on it? I’m learning from this and I know everything will be okay.” You answered peacefully.
The gears turning in his head were almost visible as he processed your words. His face changed from curious to understanding as all but one locked into place.
“So are you still sad?” He questioned again, the ever so cute clueless look on his face back again.
A somber smile made its way on your face. ‘What a question. Am I still sad? Not as much as I thought I’d be but do I wanna tell him that? It’s not like I’m not ready for it.’ You pondered.
“Yeah, but I’ll be okay” you assured him.

─── ・。゚❁゚。・ ───
March: With a hand on their shoulder, a song on your lips, or a carton of their favorite ice cream in the freezer.
On move-in day of her third year at U.A., Ochako confesses to Deku. She can’t say that she’s surprised when he rejects her, but she hides her real feelings behind a practiced, wobbly smile.
It feels like someone has just stomped all over her heart.
Within a few hours, the entirety of her class, along with Class 3-B, knows what happened. Nobody realizes that Ochako just doesn’t want to talk about it – people keep bringing it up to her, trying to be consoling, but it just makes her feel worse and worse.
Finally, when she can’t take it anymore, she hides away on the roof of the dorms, trying to find a moment of peace.
Ochako is alone, collapsed on the ground and crying when she hears the door to the roof scrape open.
“Oi.” Her heart drops. Aside from Deku, Bakugou is the very last person she wants to see right now.
“Leave me alone,” she croaks, wiping her cheeks with her sleeves. The fabric is damp, soaked through with her tears. It stopped being useful about ten minutes ago, but Ochako doesn’t really have the presence of mind to use anything else.
“Tch.” Her blonde classmate scoffs. “You’re seriously crying over the dumb nerd?”
“The last thing I need right now is your stupid gloating, Bakugou,” Ochako hisses, and glares at him. “Go. Away.”
Not that she thinks he’d actually listen, but she’s caught off guard when he squats down in front of her, elbows resting on his knees. “Forget about stupid Deku, Round Face. He’s a fucking dumbass.”
Her heart twinges, and a fresh round of tears fill her eyes. “You’re seriously not helping –”
“I thought you were better than this, Cheeks,” he says, and Ochako looks up to see Bakugou scowling. “So he doesn’t like you – tough shit. Pull up your big girl panties and move the fuck on. He’s a fuckstick who doesn’t deserve you anyways.”
She opens her mouth to retort, but pauses as the words register in her brain.
When the news spread, everyone who came to comfort her all said the same things - that Deku would come around, that he’d change his mind if she proved that she was better off without him. She knows that her friends mean well, but all she can focus on is the fact that everyone assumes that Ochako is the one who has to change – like she somehow isn’t good enough.
Bakugou – her occasional sparring partner, an acquaintance-turned-friend by virtue of exposure more than anything else – doesn’t even hesitate.
He doesn’t deserve you anyways.
“Don’t call him that,” she mutters, but there’s a tiny smile on her lips. Who would’ve guessed that the boy who had wanted to be King Explosion Murder would one day be comforting her? “You’re such an asshole.”
The blonde rolls his eyes. “I’m a fucking saint,” he snarks, and shoves a handkerchief into her trembling hands. “Stop crying already, you look ridiculous.”
Ochako glares at him again, but begrudgingly uses the black square of fabric to dab at her face. The heady smell of sugar and smoke fills her nose, and it’s the complete opposite of the clean soap scent she associates with Deku. It’s comforting, somehow.
“Move on, huh?” She laughs sadly. “You say that like it’s so easy.”
He flicks her in the forehead, and she yelps in surprise. “Nothing worth doing is gonna be easy, Round Face. You know that just as well as I do.”
It’s her turn to roll her eyes, but the words resonate deeply and leave her feeling pensive. She folds the handkerchief neatly and tucks it into her blazer pocket. “I’ll wash it,” she promises, but Bakugou waves her off.
“Keep it.” He stands, grabbing her wrist and hauling her to her feet. A familiar, challenging smirk that spreads across his face. “You’ll need it for when I beat your ass in the Sports Festival again this year.”
She scoffs, and even though she probably looks like a pathetic mess, she feels a little better. She can always count on Bakugou to not treat her like she’s spun glass.
Ochako sticks her tongue out, some of her grief dissipating without her even realizing it. “In your dreams, Blasty.”
─── ・。゚❁゚。・ ───
April: Casually, as if you don’t mean it. Trying like hell not to mean it.
From the stove, Katsuki listens to Uraraka make up some excuse to skip out on going out with her shitty friends for ramen. He looks over his shoulder – she’s smiling in a way that doesn’t quite mask the tight line of her mouth, and it’s so obvious that Frogface and Four Eyes exchange wary glances. Uraraka heads back upstairs, and as she leaves, Deku seems to visibly deflate.
“Maybe I should go talk to her,” he hears Deku mumble sadly, and Katsuki rolls his eyes before turning back to the pot of curry he has sitting on the stove.
“She probably wants some space.” Somehow, Half-and-half is the only one of their little group left with any sense, and it's really fucking pathetic.
“But isn’t it better if –” Katsuki tunes out the shitty nerd’s voice as they pass the kitchen and head to the front door, focusing back on stirring.
He tests the consistency, frowning as the curry comes out too thick, and turns up the heat a little as he adds some more stock. He’s usually pretty good about eyeballing the ingredients, but to be fair, the shitty nerd was jabbering away about something dumb with Icyhot. Usually, when things don’t go his way, it all leads back to Deku, one way or another.
He grabs the jar of hot sauce, and is just about to dump the entire contents into the pot when he suddenly pauses and thinks of Uraraka again.
Should he…?
Katsuki wages an internal war for about thirty seconds before slamming the jar onto the counter, grabbing a spare bowl. He doesn’t let himself think as he ladles a spoonful of curry onto a bed of rice, making sure that there’s a proper ratio of vegetables and meat to sauce, and places it off to the side as he dumps the hot sauce into the pot. He gives the curry a quick stir, turns the heat down low, and grabs a spoon before heading to the elevator with the bowl in hand.
It smells good, and even though it’s missing the familiar red tinge that comes from the hot sauce he loves, he knows that it tastes good too. Still, he can’t help it when a flutter of nervousness blooms in his chest.
There’s a stupid English proverb that comes to mind. The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. Never mind that he’s flipping the roles around; he just hopes that Uraraka will like it.
Katsuki knocks on her door firmly, rapping his knuckles against the cheap wood. He can hear the shuffling of fabric, a low grunt, and then Uraraka is standing there. The frustrated look in her eyes fades at the sight of him, and he absolutely hates that his breath catches when she smiles at him.
“Oh hey, what’s up?” She sounds happy to see him, her tone totally different from earlier, and something in him glows in pleasure. Uraraka tilts her head to one side, before finally noticing the bowl of curry in his hands. Her eyes go round as dinner plates.
“I… I made too much.” He thrusts it towards her with one hand, averting his eyes. “Since you’re not going out with those extras, I just –”
“Oh, wow,” she says softly. She takes the bowl carefully, and when the skin of her fingers touches his hand, he feels goosebumps crawl up his arms. “It smells so good, Bakugou! Thank you!”
“Don’t mention it,” he grunts, and then shoves his hand into his pockets. She’s standing there, inhaling the savory aroma with a stupid smile on her face, and his nerves are frazzled as he blurts, “Well? Don’t just stand there, taste it!”
Uraraka blinks, looking at him with surprise. “Oh... oh! Yeah, let me just –” She balances the bowl in her palm, scooping up a mix of sauce and rice and meat before raising the spoon at him in a weird little toast. “Itadakimasu!”
She stuffs the entire spoon in her mouth, her eyes closing blissfully as she chews, and she does this ridiculous, adorable little wiggle that makes his heart thump pathetically in his chest.
“Oh my god, I love you so much,” she moans, and his mouth drops open in stunned shock. The sound of her voice jolts down his spine like ice. “I could kiss you.”
“W-what?? What the fuck, Uraraka?” he yelps, stumbling back a little. It’s not that he hasn’t imagined her saying things like that to him, but he isn’t exactly expecting to hear it right now.
Uraraka’s eyes flutter open, and there’s a split second of dreamy contentment on her face before the realization hits. She squeaks, and nearly drops the bowl in mortification.
“Oh god, I didn’t – I didn’t mean that to –” she stutters, her face turning red. “That came out wrong! I just meant that – I haven’t eaten since yesterday, and I wasn’t having a good day because I was missing my parents, and then you made this and I’m just – I’m really happy, I’m sorry –”
“Tch, it’s… it’s whatever, Cheeks,” Katsuki grumbles, heat crawling up the back of his neck. Uraraka’s words burn into his brain, cycling on repeat, and he suddenly, he feels like he could run a fucking marathon. He’s almost drunk on the feeling, and doesn’t even think as he blurts out, “Someone’s gotta keep you round.”
There’s a beat of silence, and then it’s his turn to freeze. “Fuck. I didn’t mean … shit, not that you’re fat or whatever, you’re hot, okay? I wasn't talking about your ass… fuck, I mean, your face! Your face, I was talking about…motherfucker –”
God, he wants to go die in a hole.
Uraraka stares at him as he snaps his mouth shut, hugging the bowl to her chest, and her face is a bright pink. “Um,” she squeaks. “Uh, I…”
The awkward silence between them is physically painful, and Katsuki is too mortified to move for about three seconds before he bolts for the stairs.

May: Through laughter, over a chorus of voices, knowing it’ll strike home anyway. It’s meant for everyone here, after all.
Aizawa gives them the day off before the Sports Festival, banning them from training. Most people take advantage of the free day to relax and destress, but a few people still sneak into Ground Zeta for extra training before being lugged back to the dorms by Aizawa’s capture weapon.
Mina and Kaminari suggest a class bonding activity as everyone fixes their lunches. The slots for the impromptu Class 3-A Mario Kart tournament fill up quickly, but Ochako opts out to watch instead of participating. Most of the boys are quick to start the games, Bakugou included.
She hasn’t spoken to him since the curry incident, but the memory of it is something Ochako thinks about often. His awkward stammering had been both embarrassing and endearing, and even now, remembering the fumbling compliments makes her blush.
The most attractive boy in their class, and possibly in the entire school, thinks that Ochako is hot. It’s a surreal but amazing confidence booster, especially after the rough few weeks she’d had, and although Bakugou’s ears turn red whenever they make eye contact, he doesn’t suddenly ignore her and he doesn’t take it back.
Instead, he returns her glances with intense stares, ones that sometimes make her turn away from embarrassment. Their spars gain a playful edge, teasing out an odd, thrilling tension that leaves her face flushed and her cheeks aching from smiling.
It makes her heart beat a little faster every time she meets his gaze, and it’s different because she can see that it means something to Bakugou too.
It’s nice.
“Uh… is this seat taken?” Ochako snaps out of her thoughts to see Deku standing in front of her, looking sheepish.
She realizes with a sinking heart that the only available spot in the room is on the loveseat by her side. Mina and Tooru aren’t being discreet in the way they’re whispering excitedly while staring in their direction, and everywhere she looks, people are casting them curious glances.
It makes her a little angry, but Ochako pastes a smile on and says, “Go ahead, Deku.”
He lowers himself onto the cushion carefully, and she pulls her legs in so that she’s sitting in a ball, arms wrapped around her knees. She glances towards Bakugou, who’s staring at the TV screen and determinedly not looking in her direction, but somehow knowing that he’s there helps her relax a little.
“I’m sorry,” Deku says quietly, and Ochako holds back her sigh. They’ve had this conversation multiple times since she confessed weeks ago, and it was starting to grate on her. She was training to be a fellow Pro Hero – does he really think that she can't take a rejection?
“I know, Deku.” She tries to smile reassuringly. “I’m okay with it.”
“Still. I never wanted to hurt you, Uraraka.” Bakugou’s words come back to mind, and she has to bite back the tiny thread of resentment that sprouts in her chest. Deku said that before too. At this point, she wonders if the repeated apologies are for her benefit or his.
“Deku.” The green-haired boy looks up at her, a little surprised by the firmness of her tone. “I understand that you’re trying to be considerate, but you keep bringing it up when I already told you. I’m fine.”
“I just…” He trails off, frowning. “I just feel like you’re mad at me.”
“I’m frustrated,” she says candidly. “I’m trying to be mature about this, but you’re making it really hard for me to move on when you keep bringing up how sorry you are. Can we just agree to be friends and forget about it?”
“... are you okay with that?” He looks a little shocked, and so do some of her eavesdropping classmates. From the corner of her eye, she can tell that about half the room is listening to their conversation, but she doesn’t care. Ochako is sick and tired of people making offhand comments and references to her and Deku. She still has some feelings for him, but the combination of repeated apologies and continuous gossip have worn her down to where only frustration and exhaustion remain.
“Why wouldn’t I be?” she asks. Deku stammers, but Ochako doesn’t waver. “I love you as a friend, first and foremost. That hasn’t changed. But my world isn’t going to end just because you don’t return my feelings.”
“… Oh,” he mumbles, looking a little ashamed. “I didn’t mean to make you feel that way.”
“Well, you did.”
“I know you just said not to but... sorry,” he says quietly. “Last time, I promise.”
Ochako unfurls herself to lean over and give Deku a side hug. “Thanks. Friends?”
“Friends.” He smiles. “I love you too, Uraraka.”
There’s something bittersweet about hearing those words, but it doesn’t hurt as much as she thought it would. She opens her mouth to reply, but a heavy weight suddenly throws itself on her back.
“God, you guys are so manly,” Kirishima sniffs, leaning over the couch to wrap his beefy arms around the pair of them. “Bakubro, why don’t you ever tell me you love me?”
The disgusted look on Bakugou’s face is so funny that Ochako can’t hold back the tiny snort that escapes. “I hate you,” he says flatly.
“Love you too, bro!” Kirishima just calls back cheerfully, beaming despite the middle finger Bakugou aims in his direction.
“What the hell, why is Bakubro the one who gets an ‘I love you?’ ” Kaminari appears from behind a different couch like a gopher, looking offended.
Sero pops up right next to the electricity manipulator with a matching expression on his face. “Yeah, bro, what gives?”
Kirishima yelps as the pair of them lock their arms around the redhead’s neck, pulling him off of her and Deku as they start wrestling in a pile on the floor. Ochako can’t quite keep track of things, but in the span of a few seconds, Mina has jumped into the fray, dragging Jirou and Momo and Tooru along with her.
Aoyama leaps in too, somehow bringing Ojirou and Sato along for the ride, and Tokoyami’s protests are drowned out by Dark Shadow lifting him up and dumping him head first into the mass of bodies. The final addition comes as Todoroki nonchalantly tumbles into the chaos, dramatic declarations of love echoing above the music from Mario Kart playing in the background.
Despite her earlier frustrations, Ochako can’t help but sit back and watch the growing dog pile with a fond smile.
“God, I love you guys,” Mina crows loudly, and Ochako can’t help but join the chorus of voices that echo the sentiment. Across the room, she sees Bakugou sneering at the display of affection, scanning over the room until his gaze meets hers.
She smiles a little, raising her eyebrows at him in a silent question, and something she can’t quite name glows in her stomach when he rolls his eyes at her, the barest hint of a grin curled behind his hand.

May: Slipped under your tongue, twisted into something else. “I trust you,” maybe. Trust them to figure it out.
The Sports Festival is bigger this year than it ever has been before. It’s everyone’s last chance to prove themselves, their final showcase before graduating, and nobody wants to go down without a fight.
Katsuki is pitted against Uraraka in the quarter-finals. The fight between them is an intense, heavy-fire version of tag that leaves him exhilarated, grinning wildly as they dodge and duck and weave around each other. Her quirk is leagues beyond where it was in first year, and it shows when Uraraka literally lifts the entire stadium floor out from under her feet before swatting him out of his Howitzer Impact like a fly.
He wakes up in time to watch the final matchup between Uraraka and Deku, and proceeds to spend the next twenty minutes screaming at the infirmary television in frustrated rage.
It’s painfully obvious that Deku goes easy on her. He pulls his punches, uses a fraction of One for All, and when he lets Uraraka push him out of the ring, Katsuki can see the incandescent, seething anger that emanates from her in literal waves.
That night, he finds her on the roof again, after the award ceremonies are over. She’s crying, but this time, there’s resentment and bitterness and fury in place of the brokenhearted grief. Her gold medal is lying on the ground by her feet, discarded to the side.
“You were right, you know,” she says, laughing hollowly. She doesn’t have to look to know that he’s there. “First place… it isn’t worth anything when you win it like this.”
He doesn’t say anything – he knows exactly how she feels, and he knows better than anyone that empty platitudes will only make things worse. Instead, he leans against the railing at her side, back facing the horizon, and quietly waits as she uses the handkerchief he gave her weeks earlier to mop at her face.
They stand there in silence, and at some point, Uraraka shuffles closer and closer until she’s leaning on him, head heavy against his arm. He slouches a little more so that she can rest against his shoulder, and watches her nuzzle against the sleeve of his gym uniform.
“Is it always like this?” she whispers, so low that he almost misses the words. “Feeling like you can never catch up, like you’re always walking in someone’s shadow?”
“Welcome to the club, Cheeks,” he says gruffly. Katsuki looks over at her, and she’s staring blankly into the setting sun, tear tracks shining on her cheeks and the bruise below her left eye a mottled green. “Membership includes being referenced in relation to the shitty nerd in every article you’re in for the rest of your life, toxic friendships, and a crippling inferiority complex.”
Uraraka snorts. “Any way I can get my member status revoked?”
“If you find out, let me know,” he mutters. “Been trying to get the hell out for as long as I can remember.”
She doesn’t answer, instead pressing the back of her hand against his wrist. Her skin is cool and dry, soothing against his perpetually warm body temperature, and Katsuki savors it.
“God, I’m going to be the biggest joke in all of Japan tomorrow.” Uraraka laughs a little wetly. “After today, after everyone saw how he just let me win – nobody’s going to take me seriously.”
She says it like she isn’t amazing – like she’s just another worthless extra, like she didn’t just single handedly hand his ass to him only a few hours earlier. She says it like she’s giving up, and what Katsuki was planning to say – something quippy and grouchy and vaguely encouraging – is replaced by words that say everything, all at once.
“I do,” Katsuki says quietly, and she stills. “I always have.”
Slowly, she draws away, pulling back so she can turn and face him head on. He keeps his gaze steady, even as he wants to look away.
Part of him hopes that she’ll take it at face value, take the words as encouragement and nothing else. Things would be easier if she did – he’d be able to take his feelings and hide them for days and months and years, like he’s done since she caught his eye back in their first year. He’d be safe for a little while longer, waiting for the perfect moment.
At the same time, a larger part of him wills her to read between the lines, to see underneath the surface, because this is the closest thing to a confession he can manage. She knows him – she sees him the way Deku never could, and she’s able to read him in ways that took Eijirou years to pick up.
She knows him, and when the realization crosses her eyes, he plucks the truth out and lays himself bare.
There’s no going back.

May: Over a nervous smile, biting back the just-this-side-of-desperate hope they’ll say it back.
Ochako doesn’t know when her feelings start to change. It might have been the curry incident. It might have been the spars. It might have been that moment on the roof, and it might have even been the Sports Festival, two years ago.
What she does know is this: she’s in the middle of falling for Bakugou when she recognizes her feelings for what they really are, and what she feels is nothing like what she felt for Deku.
With Deku, she had felt like she was in freefall, somersaulting and trying to right herself when she didn’t know which way was up or down. It felt scary and frantic, and in some ways, she feels that she confused her fear with adrenaline and her admiration for love.
With Bakugou, it feels familiar. It feels like she’s standing on the sparring mats in Gym Zeta, intimate and safe, with the spark of competition and plenty of passionate intensity to keep things alive. It feels like a dance – an equal push and pull, an ebb and flow that works in tandem rather than apart – and she doesn’t have to chase after anyone because he’s facing her instead of leaving her to watch his retreating back.
So when Bakugou says those five words, she pulls back a little so she can look him in the eye. He waits, patiently, as she studies him, and even though she can see the hope and love and fear in his steady gaze, he never looks away.
“Are you sure, Bakugou?” She has to make sure.
He raises an eyebrow. “You really have to ask?” Yeah, I am.
Ochako reaches out, grazing her hand against his, and she swallows when Bakugou slowly slides his fingers between hers.
She stares at the sight of their entwined hands, and smiles a little when she feels him stroking her skin with his thumb. “Can I ask when you knew?”
“A while.” He’s quiet, watching their hands too. Red eyes flicker to meet hers, and he shrugs. “It’s always been you.”
Her heart soars. She comes in closer, and as she tilts her head up to look at him, Bakugou leans down to press his forehead to hers.
“I think I could fall in love with you,” she admits softly, her heartbeat pounding like drums in her ears. I think I’m already halfway there.
The words hang there, suspended in the space between them, and then he breathes in and smiles.
“Way ahead of you, Cheeks,” he murmurs. “Hurry up, will you?”
Something in her sings as he tugs her closer, and the touch of his lips to hers feels like coming home.

June: Under your breath while the whole house sleeps, just before you have to leave for the day. More for yourself than for them.
When Ochako asks if he wants to tell people, Katsuki is torn. On one hand, he wants people to know – he wants to shout to the entire world that Uraraka Ochako is his, that she chose him in the end.
And yet, on the other, he’s selfish. He wants to keep her to himself for as long as he can, to learn everything about her on his own time, and when he makes his choice, Ochako agrees.
Keeping it a secret is laughably easy. They do everything like they did before – they attend class, hang out with their respective friend groups, and occasionally meet up to spar after school. To their classmates and the rest of the world, nothing has changed.
Behind closed doors, it’s a different story.
He wakes to all-encompassing warmth, hair tickling his nose and a pliant body tucked tight to his chest. The curve of Ochako’s back under his hand is soft, and when he tightens his hold on her, she snuffles a little into her pillow before settling back into sleep.
The light filtering through Uraraka’s cheap curtains is faint. He knows from experience that it’s probably around five in the morning, too early for any of his classmates or teachers to be awake. It’s the safest time for him to steal out of Ochako’s room and get back to the boy’s side of the dorms, but it’s harder and harder to leave each time he wakes up with his girlfriend gathered in his arms.
His girlfriend. The thought sends a dopey, stupid smile stretching over his face. It’s been close to two months since that day on the roof after the Sports Festival, but part of him still can’t believe it. Uraraka Ochako is his girlfriend.
Katsuki is pretty sure he’s the luckiest bastard alive.
He withdraws from her slowly, painstakingly peeling his body from hers. She whines a little at the loss of warmth, and he can’t help but melt a little when she gravitates towards the divot he left in the mattress, burrowing into the spot where his head lay on her pillow.
His clothes are in a crumpled pile by the foot of the bed, and he tugs on his pants carelessly, shoving his shirt over his messy hair. When he’s done, he rearranges the blankets around Ochako’s sleeping form, tucking them up to her chin. Her forehead peeks out from under her messy hair, and Katsuki brushes his lips against the little patch of skin, cupping the curve of her face as he does.
Here, staring down at his slumbering girlfriend, he’s struck by the familiar, sudden wave of affection that tempts him to stay.
“I love you,” he breathes, almost mouthing the words as he strokes her cheek gently. He watches as she nuzzles into his touch, smiling in her sleep, and tiptoes out of her room before he’s late for his morning run.

August: With a soft sigh. Past exhaustion and frustration and despair, like it’s the only good thing left. Sometimes it is.
Neither she nor Katsuki are strangers to nightmares. They’re a given, at this point – most heroes suffer from them in one capacity or another, but it doesn’t make things any easier to deal with.
In some ways, Ochako is lucky – she’s used to working through the nightmares alone, and can still function around them. She doesn’t have to go to Katsuki for comfort unless it’s a particularly vivid dream, but the same couldn’t be said for her boyfriend.
Ochako wakes up to the low sound of her phone chiming. Her head is spinning from being woken up in the middle of a sleep cycle, but as she blearily squints in the darkness, she recognizes the ringtone as the one she set for Bakugou.
She picks up just before the call drops. “Hello?”
“Cheeks?” The whispered, raspy sound of Bakugou’s voice cracks in her ear, and she shakes off the last vestiges of sleep, concern shooting through her.
“Katuski? Are you okay?”
“M’outside,” he mumbles, and Ochako throws herself out of bed and nearly trips over the low tea table in her haste to get to the door. She throws it open, and Katsuki is leaning against her door frame. He’s shaking, bundled in a hoodie she recognizes as one he wears when the nightmares are especially bad. Worriedly, she cups a hand around his elbow and pulls him into her room.
She steers him to her bed, careful to avoid the table this time, and sits Katsuki on the edge. She gently pries his phone from his hand, ending the call and placing both of their phones on her desk, before she tugs at the hem of his hoodie.
With a slow, steady murmur of nonsensical words, she coaxes him out of his hoodie and sweats and shoes. Katsuki keeps his hands on her, seeking bare skin as she works, until he’s left only in his boxers. He makes a low, wounded sound when she briefly steps away to place his clothes on her desk chair, but he sighs as she returns into his arms, guiding him below her comforter. Ochako quickly sheds the large, oversized shirt she usually wears to sleep, leaving her in just her panties, and lets the rough, calloused hand on her thigh drag her into bed.
She lies on her back, sighing as her boyfriend settles his cheek against her left breast, ear pressed directly above her heart. He wraps his arms around her waist, miles of warm skin pressed against her body, and she carefully scratches across his scalp while he tries to lose himself in the sound of her heartbeat.
Fighting the lull of sleep, her other hand cradles his arm, using her thumb to rub back and forth soothingly. The trembling gradually stops, Katsuki’s panicked breathing evening out, and she hears a rough, heavy exhale before he rubs at her sternum with his nose.
“…Thanks.” He presses his mouth against the skin of her chest in a chaste kiss.
“Anytime.” Smoothing the spiky bangs away from his forehead, she leans forward to place a kiss of her own to his hairline. “You okay?”
She feels Katsuki swallow thickly, his weight falling on her more heavily. “Not really.” It’s the honest answer, and had it been anyone else asking, Ochako knows he would’ve lied. “But I will be.”
She hums, eyelids slowly getting heavier as the hand carding through his spiky hair moves slower and slower. Faintly, as she’s just on the edge of consciousness, she feels the blonde shift above her.
“I love you.” Ochako tries to keep her eyes open, but she can’t quite fight it any longer. “Go to sleep, baby.”
“Love y’too,” she slurs, and the last thing she hears is a quiet huff of amusement as she drifts off, warm and safe.

October: Wrapped up in a question. How’s your day been, have you eaten, you know you can tell me anything, right? You know you can tell them anything. Right?
One day, after class, All Might gathers everyone to make an announcement: two applicants have finally been chosen for the exclusive one-year work study in America. The program starts right after graduation, set up with All Might’s old hero agency, and Katsuki grins in anticipation.
The work study is something that he’s been working towards since coming into U.A. He had submitted the application at the end of second year, along with most of their class, but he figures that he has it in the bag. There are two spots, and while Deku is a given, Katsuki is the only one who can keep up with him when they’re really going all out.
He never thinks, in a million years, that Ochako would be the one to get it instead.
When he doesn’t hear his name, the feeling that falls over him is impossible to describe. On one hand, he’s so incredibly proud – of course Ochako deserves something like this. The program is notoriously competitive, notoriously selective, and for Ochako to be chosen means that they see the potential for her to be an international hero.
On the other hand, he’s so angry and hurt and frustrated, because that should’ve been him. He should’ve been the one to get the work-study, because now he’s getting left behind not just by Deku, but by Ochako too.
He pointedly avoids meeting her gaze, and when she tries to approach him after class, the mess of his feelings makes him blow up.
“Bakugou-kun?” He stiffens at the sound of her voice, but otherwise ignores her as he stomps towards the locker rooms. “Bakugou-kun, wait – ”
A hand lands on his forearm, and without thinking, he whirls around and yanks himself out of Ochako’s grasp. She looks stunned at his violent reaction, but he’s still reeling from All Might’s announcement in a way that makes all his filters disappear.
“Don’t you fucking dare,” he hisses venomously, and hurt blooms across those wide brown eyes. “I don’t want your fucking pity!”
Katsuki regrets it the moment he says it, but pride is what makes him turn his back on Ochako and keep walking. He rips his hero costume off and showers in record time, tossing on his clothes and sprinting back to the dorms to lock himself in his room.
“Fuck, fuck, FUCK!” Throwing himself on his bed, he buries his face in his pillow and lets himself go. All the bottled emotions explode out, and he’s sobbing and swearing and screaming for God knows how long until he physically can’t do anything but lie there, curled up into his pillow and hurting.
He’s so exhausted and so out of it that he doesn’t notice the door to his balcony sliding open. Still, when he feels the mattress shifting beneath him, he knows that she’s there.
Shame and guilt suddenly join the complex mess of feelings in his head, and part of him is frozen in fear. Why is she here? Is she here to pity him, like he told her not to? Is she here to yell at him for being an asshole?
Worse yet – is she here to tell him that she wants to end things?
Every nerve in his body is on alert, his brain still a jumbled muddle, and he physically can’t bring himself to move as the seconds tick by, agonizingly slow. The sound of his heartbeat thunders in his ears, and he can feel his lungs constrict as he waits for Ochako to speak.
Something desperate in him begs, please don’t go.
A hand settles onto his shoulder. The touch makes him flinch, his shoulders hunching on instinct, but the mattress moves momentarily before a familiar body molds itself to his back.
Ochako maneuvers herself into a big spoon position, curling her legs behind his and wiggling her arms around him so that she can hug him around the waist. He swallows as he feels her gently press a kiss between his shoulders. It’s patient and understanding and everything he feels like he doesn’t deserve.
“… Sorry.” He swallows thickly, wincing at the rawness of his throat. The word is muffled, spoken into his pillow instead of towards the person behind him, but he feels Ochako bury her face into his shirt.
“Me too.” He closes his eyes at that, his bitterness returning in full force. She tightens her hold on him, as if sensing his mood. “You know you can talk to me, right?”
Katsuki huffs, an acknowledgement but not an answer. Instead, he lets one hand fall to rest on the arms folded across his stomach, finding her hand and sliding his palm against hers.
They lay like that in silence. A few tears escape, leftover from the emotional torrent he’d released earlier, but all he feels now is emptiness.
“I declined the work-study.” His eyes snap open, and he sits up abruptly. The action startles Ochako, who doesn’t manage to let go of him in time, and she lands half-sprawled below him, arms still linked around his body.
“What the hell, Ochako,” he croaks, his voice still hoarse, and he glares down at her. “Why would you – ”
“I can barely afford to feed myself, Katsuki – how in the world am I going to find the money to spend a year in America?” She looks at him gently, reaching up to cup his cheek. “Besides – I applied because the others did. I never really wanted to go in the first place. Not like you.”
Old insecurities crawl out of the dark corners of his mind. “I don’t need your pity, Cheeks,” he says darkly, and she rolls her eyes.
“For God’s sake, it’s not pity,” she says exasperatedly, and folds her arms across her chest. Her expression softens. “I know how much you wanted this. How much you still want it.”
“They picked you, Ochako. Not me.” Saying it out loud stings, but it doesn’t mean he isn’t proud of her. “Not that they shouldn’t have. You deserve it.”
“So do you, Katsuki.” She sits up, tucking her legs underneath her as she squares her shoulders, staring him directly in the eyes. “You know why I want to be a hero. Stuff like this – it’s not important to me, not like it is for you. You’re the first one on the waiting list – if I didn’t apply, it would’ve been you who got it.”
He scowls. “Why the fuck did you apply if you weren’t gonna do it?”
“Deku convinced me,” Ochako admits, looking apologetic. “I didn’t really expect anything; I knew I wasn’t going to be able to afford it regardless.”
And fuck, hearing her say that makes him feel even shittier. “… It’s whatever, Cheeks,” he says, trying to play things off. “Doesn’t really matter.”
“Yeah, that’s bullshit.” The flat look she gives him is pointed. “You don’t get angry like this unless it’s something you really care about.”
“I didn’t… ugh, fuck.” He closes his eyes and scrubs a free hand over his face, following the line of his jaw until his palm sits at the nape of his neck. “I got pissed because I felt like I was gettin’ left behind again. Not just by the shitty nerd, but...”
“… by me, too,” she says, realization falling over her, and he feels like an asshole for even thinking it, let alone admitting it out loud. “I thought we were both in the same boat? The one where we’re trying not to compare ourselves to other people anymore?”
“Shit, I know that, I just…” He groans, rubbing his neck roughly. “I just… I’ve spent so fuckin’ long chasin’ after them. Fucking years, Cheeks. I can’t just… turn that off.”
“I know.” And she does – maybe not to the same extent, but she does know, better than anyone else, exactly what he’s feeling. She felt it too, not long ago. “But you’re not Deku, Katsuki; you aren’t All Might either. Sometimes, I feel like you forget that.”
“S’not that I forget.” He lets his hands fall limp in his lap, looking down at them hollowly. “… They’re just… better. Better people, better heroes… trying to crawl out of their damn shadows feels like I’m fighting fuckin’ smoke.”
“Well, nothing worth doing is going to be easy,” she says, and part of him wants to laugh at the sheer fucking audacity of this girl, taking his words and throwing them right back at him. She grins a little, seeing the spark of amusement in his eyes. “You know that as well as I do.”
“You’re a goddamn comedian,” he snorts, and he can’t help but smile.
“The very best,” she agrees as she grabs his free hand, bringing it up to her lips. “So you’ll go, right?”
He studies her, trying to look for a single smidgeon of resentment, and can’t find anything other than genuine sincerity. “… yeah,” he sighs. “I’ll go.”
Ochako nods firmly. “Good.”
And that’s the end of it.

December: Instead of “thank you” or “see you soon” or “drive safe.” Because no matter what you say it’ll mean the same thing.
They’re able to keep things quiet for seven months. Living with eighteen other teenagers means almost no privacy, and it’s a goddamn miracle that nobody has found out yet. Katsuki is pretty sure Frogface has an idea – he’s caught her watching the two of them recently, a contemplative look on her face, but otherwise, there isn’t a peep.
When it does come out, it’s partially Ochako's fault, but mostly Katsuki’s. Sparring together always gets him hot and bothered, and while she might have been tempting fate a little by wearing just a sports bra while they’re grappling, he’s entirely to blame for how he slams her into the mats and starts kissing her in the middle of the crowded gym.
Katsuki is not happy to find that there’s a class-wide bet going on about them. He’s even less happy to find that Deku is the one who fucking wins the pot, but when people find out that they’ve been dating since May, Ochako starts hiding on the roof to avoid any more invasive questions about Katsuki’s dick.
By the time winter break rolls around, the fervor around their relationship has died down. There’s still some teasing, especially from people like Kirishima and Mina, but everyone’s focus is redirected as the winter internships offers are finally handed out.
For some, the decision is easy. She knows that Katsuki doesn’t even hesitate when he gets the offer to intern with Endeavor again, alongside Shouto. Ochako, on the other hand, is torn. Her original plan was to go with Ryuko for the third year in a row, but she knows that she’s gotten a little too comfortable there. It’s not challenging anymore, and as much as she loves working with the dragon hero, she knows that she needs to gain more experience somewhere else.
She wants to take Miruko’s offer. The woman is on a case in Sapporo, and she’s looking for a seasoned intern experienced in both rescue and combat to act as her support. It’s an amazing opportunity, especially when Ochako considers the fact that the rabbit hero is notorious for preferring to work alone – apparently the Sports Festival didn’t harm her reputation as much as she’d thought it would.
There’s only one problem.
She and Katsuki had been planning to spend a few days celebrating her birthday before heading out to their respective internships. Miruko’s offer, if Ochako accepts it, lasts the entire two-week winter break.
Not only would she not be able to visit home, she’d also have to cancel her plans with Katsuki.
When she tells him about the offer, something in her breaks a little at the excited, proud grin that spreads across his face. “You’re shitting me. Miruko? For real? That’s fuckin’ amazing, Cheeks.”
“… Yeah.” Ochako smiles back weakly.
He frowns. “Oi, what’s with that face? You aren’t interested or something?”
“It’s not that.” At his puzzled look, she says softly, “The internship lasts the whole break. It’s in Sapporo.”
She already checked online. It takes five hours to get from Sapporo to Tokyo; a one-way ticket costs around thirty thousand yen. There is no way she can afford to visit Katsuki, let alone her parents all the way down in Mie. And even if he could come to her, there is no way to guarantee that she’ll have the time.
“… oh.” She watches as he exhales slowly, the excitement fading in his eyes and replaced by disappointment. “Oh.”
Ochako bites her lip, eyes flickering towards the floor. “I – I don’t have to take the offer, Ryuko still has openings…”
It’s not that she doesn’t want to go. She does – desperately, actually, because it’s Miruko. Number five hero, badass bitch Miruko, who Ochako secretly idolizes for being strong and powerful and uncompromising in a culture where being those things as a woman can be career-ending more than career-making. It’s an opportunity she never dared to dream of – and now it’s being handed to her on a silver platter.
Katsuki knows this. He knows that Ochako wants to say yes, and he knows that for all that she’s offering to stay, she wants him to tell her to go.
And he does.
“Don’t be a dumbass,” he scowls, eyes narrowing. “Miruko asked you for a reason; you’re fucking going.”
She knows that he won’t let her turn it down – Katsuki would never ask her to sacrifice her career for him – but hearing it still helps settle the guilt that had been festering since she first got the offer. He looks a little dejected still, and so Ochako steps forward until her face is pressed into his chest, arms coming up to wrap around his waist in a hug. “Katsuki, I –”
“I know.” Strong arms band across her back to tuck her more securely against his chest, and one hand cradles the back of her neck. “Just means we gotta make up for your birthday and New Years when you get back.”
“Deal.” She inhales, taking in the smell of smoke and sugar that never fails to make her feel safe and secure. It’s only two weeks, but she already knows that she’ll miss him terribly.
A hand sweeps across her back, settling on her neck. The warmth of his palm is soothing against the tight muscles, and she relaxes into him. “M’proud of you, Cheeks. You’re gonna fucking crush it.”
“I’ll be back before you know it.” It’s a lie, but Katsuki doesn’t call her out on it. Instead, he presses his mouth to the crown of her head.
“I love you,” he murmurs, quietly. Come back to me.
She pulls back, cradles his face between her palms, kisses him fervently in answer. I will.

January: Straightforward. Soft and heavy, like morning before the coffee’s started brewing. Like that’s all there is to say.
He gets the call two days before they’re supposed to get back to the dorms.
“There was an avalanche in Sapporo,” Frogface’s monotone voice sounds tinny over the phone, and Katsuki’s heart drops to his toes. “Ochako – she’s in the hospital.”
The story is broadcast over every news channel, trending on every social media site. The case in Sapporo was an investigation, following rumors about a sex-trafficking ring targeting young girls. Miruko and Uravity had tracked the ring leaders to an abandoned town, where they’d captured the offending criminals with little trouble. The police were on the way, and the heroes had been comforting the scared girls, but nobody knew that one of the criminals had a remote-detonation quirk until it was too late.
The dynamite that exploded wasn’t meant to destroy the town – it was meant to bury it.
The twenty girls and all the criminals make it out alive and unscathed– so do all twelve thousand residents of the neighboring town. According to the reports, Uravity had created an entirely new gravitational field to slow the avalanche, with her own body as the anchorpoint, and had stalled long enough for everyone to evacuate the area. When she finally passed out, Miruko darted in to drag her intern to safety, but they had both ended up getting caught in the crush of snow.
The rescue team, who’d been on standby, found them both quickly, but Uravity’s overuse of her quirk, combined with her injuries, meant that she was rushed immediately to Musutafu, where Recovery Girl kept her alive long enough to get into surgery.
Katsuki skips class to go to the hospital, leg bouncing and his heart breaking as every agonizing minute passes. Mid-way through the day, Aizawa comes to try and bring him back to U.A., accompanied by Midnight. He almost fights both teachers in the middle of the waiting room, until his parents come and formally withdraw him for the day so he can stay.
When he’s finally allowed to see her, she’s in a coma. She looks small, tucked below scratchy white sheets and surrounded by machines he can’t name. There’s a neck brace supporting her head, the breathing tube snaking from her mouth and nose, and all he can do is hold her hand and squeeze, praying for her to wake up.
He comes every day after classes. He sits in the plastic chair by her bedside and talks about his internship, the things they did in class, and the stupid antics their classmates got up to in the dorms.
Every day, before he leaves, Katsuki kisses her and says that he misses her. That he can’t wait for her to wake up.
At one point, Miruko comes by to visit, solemn-faced – she’s in an electric wheelchair, missing her prosthetic limbs, and lugging an IV drip behind her. Part of Katsuki wants to blame her for it all, for giving the offer to Ochako in the first place, but he recognizes the guilt hidden behind the rabbit hero’s stoic façade.
“I told her not to overdo it.” The woman’s voice is low and throaty, weariness obvious even as she speaks. Katsuki spares a glance at the woman, who’s staring at Ochako’s still body in the bed. “Told her that the mountain was gonna come down one way or another. She didn’t fuckin’ listen – said she could keep going. That she had to.”
He’s seen the footage – it’s not something that he’ll ever forget. A towering wall of snow and ice and rock, a cresting wave over a ramshackle ruin, with a tiny pink form standing in front of the creeping, looming mass. He knows that Ochako’s quirk is more than just zero gravity, but seeing it in action, she looks like a goddess out of legend. Nobody who sees that video will ever call her weak again.
“Sounds like her,” he grunts, and neither of them say anything more.
Days later, he hears the rumor while waiting for shitty vending machine coffee and as he buys flowers at the flower shop on the hospital grounds. Apparently, Miruko called in a favor from one of the top healing quirk specialists to come and help Ochako.
He lugs an entire bushel of organic rainbow carrots to the woman’s hospital room as thanks, and scowls when Miruko points out that he should’ve sent them in an edible arrangement.
Three weeks after the accident, the neck brace and tubes are gone, the life support equipment removed, and all that’s left is to wait for Ochako to wake up. Katsuki is in the middle of complaining about some stupid training exercise he doesn’t really care about when the hand he’s holding squeezes.
“… Mm? Kat… ?” Ochako’s voice is low and gravelly, scratchy from disuse, and her heavy-lidded gaze settles on him tiredly. He stands abruptly, the chair clattering to the floor as the last remnants of fear and worry are replaced by sheer relief.
The hug he gives Ochako is careful and featherlight, but a strong hand pulls him tighter into her chest until he’s almost crushing her in his arms. Katsuki knows that he should be calling for a doctor, but he can’t help but take the moment to keep her for himself, just a little while longer.
“Shit, Cheeks,” he breathes, basking in the familiar weight of Ochako’s head tucked into the curve between his shoulder and neck. “I was so fuckin’ worried.”
“M’okay.” Her nose feels cold against his pulse. “Sorry,” she says, slurring a little.
“Don’t be.” She had saved those girls, and she was the reason that over ten thousand people were still alive. There was nothing to be sorry about. “You’re okay now, s’all that matters.”
She hums, the warmth of her breath lingering over his skin. “Love you,” she whispers, hands twisting in the fabric of his shirt.
Katsuki exhales in a soft, slow sigh, and presses a kiss into her hair. “Love you too.”

reason fifty million and one why i love this blog: i can just send asks wordvomiting out my newest dumb idea and crowdfund an entire au. on which note, consider: deku's got mad anxiety, so like, what if at least parts of his notebook entries are him writing down worst case scenarios and trying to find ways to prevent or mitigate the damage because he's hypervigilant and easily drawn into an emotional death spiral. this scares the shit out of anyone who reads them because oh jesus why is he -1/2-
-2/2- speculating about shit like how much of his vision aizawa would have to lose (in terms of legal blindness) before erasure stopped working or if it would still function if he lost an eye, plans for reinforced gauntlets to keep someone from cutting off one of ochako's fingers to take her out for good, exactly how much fat percent a person needs before they start dying and what that means for momo (as well as how fast food can be turned into fat, are liquids or pure sugar faster, etc.)
Oh, I am SUCH a big fan of this.
I funnel my anxiety into my journals, so I’ve always loved the headcanon that Midoriya does the same. And you KNOW I’m a huge fan of Midoriya being darkly pragmatic.
An adult finds his journal and is so concerned. No 16yo should be speculating about these scenarios. No teenager should be planning for these things as if they’re an inevitably. And yet Midoriya has filled up entire notebooks with thoughts about his friends and families being mutilated.

Who are your fave characters in bnha (aside from hawks) and your least liked. In a "i dont like this one as a character or/and as a person" kind of way or even they're just meh to you.
This is a good and surprisingly complicated question! I'll try to give at least three from each category with my reasoning as I like most of the characters for one reason or other but marking down favorites and least favorites is not as straightforward as I first thought.
I love that most of Horikoshi's characters are either loveable, likeable, enjoyable to hate, or leave a benevolently indifferent impression. There's not really many characters that get on my nerves for just existing.
Except Mineta. He can die in a ditch. But that's too easy for our purposes he doesn't count. This time...
Mina is a character I just really am drawn to every time she shows up. She's described as a people person, and as a cautious introvert who often feels the need to put on appearances to make friends in a "you do not have a high enough friendship level to unlock my tragic backstory" kind of way, I feel like if she were a person I could just relax and enjoy myself around her. She isn't dismissive of people's real fears or insecurities and prefers to let herself be the best she is right now in all of her dumbass glory. I really, really love her even if I don't give her a lot of love often.
Iida is another character I gravitate towards despite not showcasing him often. I'm just always happy to see him and his dorky, admirable self. It's like you could look up "square" in the dictionary and his picture would apply to basically all possible definitions, but it's a good thing. He's conscious and proactive even if he seems overbearing, and it's just his way of protecting his family and friends' security and happiness. It makes me feel like I would be safe and cared for in his presence, you know? Bonus points for his wholesome adoration of his big brother (who is also a majorly underappreciated background character, imo), and I can't help but headcanon him as autistic. I literally can't not see it every time he shows up at this point.
Gotta give the last spot to Fatgum. Another detail about Horikoshi's character writing I adore is that the "obvious" thing about a character usually does not end up taking up the bulk of their characterization or is usually never focused on for too long. They have lives and identities outside of one or two traits. Being huge and fat like Fatgum in a Japanese society that usually runs smaller and thinner than the rest of the world (and that is never canonically shied away from) would usually be focus of his entire character in most other series. Here, it's just a blip on his entire sheet - an important one to be sure, but it's just been embraced as a part of who he is from so far back it's beyond old news for him. Confidence, focus, determination, and enabling others' personal growth is where it's at as far as he's concerned, and I am here for it! He's just so set and comfortable in his skin that he's got more than enough to give others a boost if he can offer it.
Horikoshi has a lot of empathetic characters that feel more like people than tropes (especially in the world of anime overrun with cookie cutter personalities to fill flashy but otherwise empty character designs), so there aren't many characters I just genuinely don't like or care for. That said, there has been a pattern I've been noticing, and wouldn't you know it happens to correlate with traits I don't like in real people, either.
I cannot stand people who can never admit they can be wrong. I mean those people that might say how everyone in their family or all their last group of friends hate them/left them or how their ex was crazy and when you ask if maybe they had any idea why they go, "OMG, I don't know! 😭😭😭 I just can't seem to find anyone who will love me for who I am, warts and all. 😇😇😇"
Sure, Jan.
So about the villains! To be fair, not even close to all the villains fit this bill. Most of them I either unironically love (like Rappa and Gentle Criminal) or love to hate (Dabi and Shigaraki). It just so happens that no "hero" character happens to grate or push my buttons in a way that leaves me either negatively ambivalent towards them or outright hating them. (Save one...)
Toga. Get your pitchforks, folks! BBQ is on the menu! I actually don't hate her or even dislike her. She's just not a character I can have sympathy for for very long. In a situation I couldn't just walk away from and hope to never see her again, she'd get some stern words a la Ochako a long time ago. Especially at her age I get where she's coming from and how she feels, but while asking people to just conform without question under threat of punishment is not inherently good, it's not unreasonable in her case and it's troubling she seemed to one day snap and decide she was being unduly repressed and killed someone when she looked like she otherwise had a normal life. I completely give her some grace for clearly having an "pretend it isn't there and it'll go away" kind of help, but she's capable (at least now) of realizing why people are repulsed by her behavior and that it's not unfounded. She needs much better help than what she got and certainly more than what the League offers.
I have similar problems with Spinner. He has a reasonable-enough justification for wanting to lash out at broader society, but he largely refused to help himself before the League of Villains and he'll always be working with a handicap in my book thanks to that. If he was living with parents and couldn't escape to a larger city with more inclusive attitudes towards heteromorphs I could understand, but it looked like he lived alone and either managed to finance his lifestyle or supplemented with government aid anyway, so points lost there as well. He relies on others to give him meaning, first Stain and then Shigaraki; and even then only acts on it because they give him permission to act out his aggressions in an environment that doesn't hold him accountable for it or ask him to do something constructive to change it. That came out harsher than I intended, but I really am not able to give him much room either way in this case.
Monoma. Ah, yes. The Exception™. Sorry, buddy. It's not like I don't get it. You've got a lot more in common with Bakugo than you probably like, but your brand of inferiority complex is just... Unhinged? Grossly inappropriate and misplaced? My dude, you gotta stop trying to knock others down to make yourself feel better by comparison, you can and will destroy your life doing that. I get that having a quirk that requires you to play second-fiddle is infuriating, but that's where you really need to leverage your individuality and be certain what defines your character in a vacuum. At that point you can find a way to leverage other's quirks in ways even they can't because of the sole fact that they aren't you. I know easier said than done, but I am rooting for you, buddy!
That was fun! Thanks for the ask! It's interesting to break down my gut feelings about the characters like this. I enjoyed it a lot!
