Right, but didn’t it turn out that the only reason Artemis did that was because of how Opal had been manipulating him too? Holly and he seeming on better terms by the end of the book, but his guilt then leading into The Atlantis Complex, which almost entirely focused on their relationship, that “moment of passion” as Orion and Foaly called it? Leading to those final moments in The Last Guardian. Haven’t read The Fowl Twins, but apparently there’s some sort of subtext about this about a character called nani? And a short story somewhat addressing it? And the author saying if he does another main book, it’d be the focus?

Agreed, their relationship does heal and I have read the fowl twins and (no spoilers) but Holly is a very big but background-y part of their home system (it’ll make sense I promise)

artemis fowl is probably like one of my favorite series’ ever I read it around 2020 and was ENTRANCED to the point where I begged my older sister to draw art of it (and she did and she posted it too it’s still up on insta lol) and when she would send me letters she would doodle the characters for me on them for me and i would constantly draw them

anyway this series is coming back to rot in my brain so I had to draw art for it

real talk okay thinking back on it couldn’t have Artemis took out his eye to survive the gate??? Also i know Butler was canonically too distraught by Artemis’ death to come to the funeral but I drew his shoes anyway

ALSOOO the fandom is actually gone like I’m in shock Like there is tops 1-2 people I see on tumblr that actively post Artemis fowl stuff and other apps have AF posts that range from 2-6 years ago maybe I haven’t looked too hard but let’s bring AF back🙏🙏

Listen I don’t know who will see this but, for years I’ve seen art and fan art of Artemis Fowl when he died in like a suit and very groomed looking. Do you guys not remember like in the middle of the last book he,butler and Holly changed into camo gear, proceeded to swim through the fowl estates pond and then Artemis and Holly crashed a plane, and he says there’s blood on his face so most likely that’s an open wound on his head to, HE will NOT be best dressed I doubt that was even on his MIND. And also when he went to go meet Opal it literally states he was pushed down a hill and he smiles, theres blood on his teeth. So all the art should have been him looking far worse than it portrays. Also he Fr sprinted to the gate and jumped over a hole (?) you KNOW that boy must have been sweating his ass off😭

😡 Reluctant allies 😡

I just love early series Artemis and Holly foes-to-frenemies dynamic. Even though they hate each other's guts, you can feel that Artemis respects and looks up to Holly ; and that Holly empathises and genuinely wants to understand Artemis. I'm relatively pleased with Artemis' suit ; I absolutely despise drawing suits with every fiber of my being. ... Which is a little bit of an issue when you want to draw Artemis Fowl, as you can imagine.

Don't look at the background though. It's trash 🫠
