It is complete…! :’D I wanted to get these done in December but life happened. Regardless, I’m glad I got to finish at a decent time. Enjoy some lovely Pines Winter bonding :D

Icarus has become a theme in a lot of my art, and a bit of a symbol for me.
It started a while ago, when my anxiety was really bad and I was in the process of making some big decisions. In some of my writing and art, I started referencing Icarus in relation to my feelings about my situation. I wanted to fly, I wanted to touch the sun, but I was too scared to even attempt it, because I was scared that my wings would burn and I would fall. I shared some of my writing about it with my partner, and she answered that as long as I had someone to catch me when I fell, I'd be fine.
After that, the meaning started slowly changing, and I went from 'Icarus fell' to 'what if the sun caught Icarus as he fell' to 'Icarus fell, but before that, he flew'. It's become a reminder of 'you'll never know if you don't try'. If you stay safely on the ground, then sure, you'll never risk falling from the sky, but nor will you get to experience flight. Is it really living if all you're doing is surviving?
I know it's not what the original story was about. But I like it. I tend to let fear hold me back, but I think I'd rather fly and deal with the risk of falling than stay trapped on the ground because I'm scared of what might happen. Who knows, maybe I will touch the sun. And even if I don't, even if I fall, I have people who will catch me.
