not saying i think anything is happening this weekend, but before they hard launch i need to say something. i used to be anti phan but for completely different reasons than anyone else. i'm aroace but i didn't know that when i first started watching dnp. i knew about asexuality but not enough to know that that was me. i think subconsciously i knew but i thought i was broken and a lot of self hatred kept me from coming to terms with the fact that it was normal. but when i first found them i took one look at phil and knew that man was not attracted to women but he never said he was gay so clearly that meant he was asexual. and for years he was my asexual icon that helped me come to terms with my own asexuality. i still didn't know about aromantic and thought those feelings were a part of my asexuality and since i thought phil was the same way i never thought he'd want to be in a relationship with dan. by the time they came out i was in a good spot that i was fine with realizing i was wrong but looking back knowing what i know now, that was so fucking funny because i was projecting my asexuality (and aromanticism) onto phil while he was actually being a massive slut the whole time
