Doffy joining Cross Guild means that they 1000% need an HR department.
Doffy's constantly flaunting his abs to Crocodile, bending over to pick up pencils he keeps "clumsily" dropping, and tongue-fucking whatever they're snacking on during meetings. Less egregious, he also habitually asks about Crocodile's kids, offers to babysit, and regales him about all the orphaned kids he's raised.
Meanwhile, Dragon is still a little bitter about their one-night-stand and is eager to flaunt his status while also seeking to figure out what parts of Doflamingo are appealing?! He drops off lunch for Wani with all their kids (including Doffy's) in tow and engages in faaar too much PDA with Wani during the handoff, uses the urinal beside Doffy at work events to see how they measure up (this turns into a legit pissing contest), and creates strong enough breezes to pluck Doffy's pink coat clean.
Now they need a HR department? I think it was a highly inappropriate workplace even before Doflamingo was "recruited" *lol*
I don't think Dragon can visit every day to drop off lunch just to glare at Doflamingo, considering that Cross Guild's territory and the Revolutionary Army's Headquarters are probably quite far apart. He does trips to Cross Guild though, so he can always make sure to glare at him then X'D
But Dragon potentially rounding up Luffy, Sabo and Ace (and Mini-Mingo and other kids they may or may not have) to go visit Crocodile is funny too. Is it strategically wise to leave the RA without its leader and second in command? No. Does Luffy want to hang out with Buggy and co when he could be having adventures? Not really. But Dad promised that there would be meat so.......
Though I'm not sure Dragon is actually the jealous kind or even sees any need for it. He knows he's already won ;3 He just needs to make sure that he and Crocodile don't get into a breakup worthy argument again *lol*

(Side note: Yes, I know Fort Benning is Fort Moore now, but the name wasn't changed until May 2023, so it would have been Fort Benning when Sy was there)
It was sunny, but the forecast said rain later so they were organizing earlier than scheduled to get all of the outdoor activities done before the deluge.
"Colonel." Sy said, giving the man a crisp salute.
"Neither of us are in uniform anymore, Ethan." The older man said with a laugh, reaching out to shake his hand. "You don't gotta salute me."
"Well I'm gonna." Sy said, shaking his hand, "You were one of the best damn C.Os I ever had. Wouldn't've made Captain as quick as I did if it hadn't been for you bustin' my ass."
"I'm only hard on those I know can take it and who I saw potential in. You had it in spades, son." He said, "When I heard you left the service and Jack snapped you up for his security firm, I knew who I wanted for this little shindig."
"Team buildin' exercises?" Sy asked, looking over the obstacle course that had been setup on the grounds of the private resort. "Reminds me of Fort Benning."
"Only without the mosquitos the size of chihuahuas." He said, "Thankfully. Accommodations are nicer, too. My people all work together well enough, but they ain't a unit and HR has to deal with petty bickering more than they should. You know how these intellectual types can get."
"Don't I." Sy said, "Well, it looks like the first ones have shown up. Let's get started." They easily fell into step as they walked over to the group of about a dozen that had gathered on the grass. Most of them were wearing workout clothes of some kind, shorts, tanks tops, sneakers, except for one who was standing off by herself looking down at her phone screen. She was wearing what she probably went to bed in; dark leggings and an equally dark hoodie, simple black flats on her feet that she probably just stepped into before leaving her room. Not exactly the proper footwear. The Colonel let out a shrill whistle and the idle conversations stopped, Sy noticing how she just looked up from her phone briefly without raising her head before looking back down again. She dug into her hoodie pocket, pulling something out and putting it to her lips, taking a breath. A plume of almost silvery blue smoke left her mouth with her exhale and she put it back into her pocket. He knew what nicotine vape smoke looked like, it had started to get popular with boots in the service when he was getting ready to leave, and that wasn't it.
"I'd like to thank y'all for agreeing to do this. The fact that I'm paying time and a half for attendance probably made the decision easier." He said, "This is Captain Ethan Syverson, I served with him in the Army. He was a Green Beret and probably one of the best Officers I had under my command when I was in."
"Stop blowin' smoke, Colonel."
"Ain't blowing smoke, Captain. Honest truth." He said and turned his attention back to the group. "He's gonna be running you through this little amusement park I had built for you all. Teamwork is the name of the game today, you're going to help each other get through it, no ifs ands or buts. Once everyone is done, we'll head back inside. Hopefully before the skies open up. Y'all don't want to be caught in a downpour? Work with each other. Got it?" Nods and sounds of agreement. "They're all yours, Captain."
While he didn't run them as hard as he would have with recruits, he didn't go easy on them easier, pushing them to move faster, work harder, help each other over obstacles. Only one of them wasn't participating, the woman he noticed at the start.
"Ya feel like joinin' the rest of us, Princess?" He barked out and she looked up at him from her phone briefly.
"No." She said simply, almost dismissively, and it made him britsle.
"Your buddies are countin' on ya."
"They're not my buddies, they're my co-workers. Big difference."
"Delaney!" the Colonel yelled, "That overtime pay is contingent on participation. Said so in the event page. Don't wanna participate? Kiss that time and a half goodbye."
"Don't worry, Princess." Sy said, "You ain't gotta mingle with us peasants for long." She just gave him a hard look before tucking her phone in her pocket.
"Fine." She said and kicked off her flats, going barefoot in the grass. Lining up with the rope wall, she backed up a few yards, planting her feet in the ground.
"You ain't gotta do it alone." Sy started, "Whole reason why--" She took off at a run, jumping up onto the wall. She ignored the ropes that were there entirely, scaling the vertical climb with a surprising quickness, grabbing onto the top and leaping over it, twisting and landing on her feet in a crouch on the other side. Standing, she went back over to her shoes, brushing off her feet before stepping back into them. Her middle finger was firmly in his direction as she walked past back to the main building, a cloud of silvery blue smoke trailing after her.
"Sorry about that, Captain." The Colonel said when she had disappeared from view. "Delaney Cox has got one hell of a problem with authority figures. If she wasn't so damn good at her job, I would have fired her by now."
"What's she do?" Sy asked, still looking at the door she had gone through.
"Head of IT, works on our network security systems. Built it from the ground up." Thunder rolled overhead and Sy shook himself out of it. "Weather is about to turn, I'll get them inside."
"Yeah." He said and stayed put as the Colonel gathered the others ushering them inside.
"You comin', Captain?"
"In a bit, Sir." He said and watched them leave before going over to the rope wall. It was smooth wooden planks, no handholds, meaning you had to use the ropes to climb the fifteen feet to the top, momentum wouldn't get you there. Running his hand over the surface, he felt the catch and looked, seeing the gouges in the wood.
Now that he knew what he was looking for, he could see them equally spaced going all the way up, deep scratches that splintered around the edges in the top where she had grabbed on to lift herself over. Looking back at the marks in front of him, he reached up, spacing his fingers. Her hands were smaller than his, but with some adjustment, his fingertips lined up perfectly with the gouges. Four horizonal curving across the top, one vertical where his thumb was.
"Son of a bitch." He whispered. Sy had noticed in the beginning how her nails were short, neat, and bare, not the manicured nails some of the other women had. Even so, real or even artificial nails wouldn't have been able to support her weight, or allow her to move as quickly as she did, and definitely wouldn't have left this damage. "What the goddamn--" His hand dropped and he moved with purpose towards the main building, heading inside and going to the check-in counter, pulling the sign-in book towards himself and flipping through the pages until he found todays date.
Delaney Cox. Room 13.
He walked past the conference room on the way to the stairs, hearing the Colonel go over the next exercise. A quick check through the window confirmed that she wasn't in there. He headed up the stairs two a time, walking down the hall and stopping front of Room 13, raising a fist to knock on the door solidly. There was a pause before it opened and he looked down at her.
"Yes?" She asked.
"Your hands."
"What?"
"Let me see your damn hands." He grabbed one of them, looking it over. No splinters from the wall, no blood from torn nails, nothing. "How the fuck did you--" Her fingers tightened and he watched dark claws slide out from under her nails, wickedly pointed and razor sharp.
"Satisfied?" She asked, pulling her hand from his, the claws retreating back under her nails. She took a pull of her vape, turning her head to the side so the smoke didn't hit him in the face. The smell was almost acidic but flowery.
"What is that?"
"Aconite vapor." She said, "Also known as monkshood or wolfsbane. The full moon is soon and it keeps me from shifting."
"What the hell are you?" She hadn't tried to deflect his question, so he was straightforward.
"A werewolf." She said, "Want to come in? Or do you want to have the rest of this conversation in the hallway?" There was a pause before she stepped aside and he walked past her into the room, the door closing behind him.

Hello! As promised to @rubberduckyrye, here are some of my notes I got about my social psychology class, about leadership! (And of course I thought of V3. Of course. So I'm sharing the ones that could be linked to it x)
(Please keep in mind that those datas were extracted from social experiments in real life, not a killing game tho xD)
There's four "main" types of leadership:
Authoritarian (like in the army)
Transactional (preferably one for a short period of time or objective; this one is quite literally, a transaction. You do this task, you get this reward. It's not a long-term option)
Transformative (This one is the most looked after in companies: it's one that focus on changing things for the better, helping employees too in the process, but also it's looking for long-terms solutions and practice. The one that can motivate others, and help employees with their problems)
And lastly the "let it be", a type of leadership that let the "employees" -keep in mind those experiments were done in companies' settings- do what they want and doing much about it.
First of all, it's good to know that the leadership authoritarian is less performant than the transactional, or the transformative. But it's still WAY BETTER than the "let it be"! To give a hierarchy:
"let it be" < authoritarian < transactional < transformative.
(Again, in a company's setting. But I think it would work best in a killing game too, since everyone have to collaborate for a long term objective, leaving, when there's one actual traitor in their group)
Kaede and Kokichi (because I am still talking about V3, of course!) both tried -Kaede... more or less- a transformative leadership. Which, good idea! The problem being that Kaede also took some major part of the "let it be" type as well. Asides from the Death Road of Despair, and when she asked Miu for help, she pretty much didn't let the others contribute.
Kokichi too; well he let Miu, Gonta and maybe a bit Shuichi contribute, but after the first trial there's not a lot of people willing to listen to him asides the first two I mentionned.
Angie in chapter 3, tried an authoritarian leadership. Which... works, until the authority figure isn't respected (or feared) and people start doing whatever they want again. (And the problem with her, is that she only was respected by half of the class to begin with. It was bond to fail)
And all three of them struggle with the notion to let others than their allies do the work for the group (which, in a killing game is understandable. There's a mastermind lurking around) but it doesn't help the overall cohesion, conflicts in the group happens because "it's always the same doing the things" (in a company setting anyway.)
An annoying thing too, is that once a leader is designated, all the others around are like "oh cool, they'll do all the work and I can chill" only doing things if the leader actually tell them to. In a company setting (or in a group project...) no problem. In a killing game on the other hand...
The followers have the tendency to take the values of their leader in mind when taking decisions; in a company, it's seen as a HR employee avoiding to recruit women because he knows his superior is mysogynist. In the killing game, it's seen when Kaede declare they're all friends, and despite the murders that happens, everyone claim this mentality. (Claim. Not necessary follow... *look at the murders*)
Because yes, having people with differents values/goals (i.e: the mastermind working against them) obviously doesn't help the group.
And then, interestings things are seen.
It has been shown in the experiments, that the one stepping up to be the leader, isn't always the most qualified for the job.
Not only that, but people that chose their leader doesn't necessary makes the right choice, and prefer to have someone they like in charge, they are biased.
Looks familiar to anyone?
And now the most fascinating thing:
If no real leader (recognized, followed by everyone or the biggest majority and most importantly: DOING A GOOD JOB) is there, that's when a scapegoat is "designed".
You know, the one that everyone claim to be the source of all problems (the "villain") the one that get ignored (even when they are BLEEDING) the one that can get all their hard work for the group overlooked, even when said-work help to end the crisis? (AKA, the killing game?)
Hm, wonder who that is in V3!
On a lighter note, homor is a great idea in leadership. Studies showed that a joking leader eased the tensions in the group, and help motivate people to go forwards.
Hm, wonder who could try to make jokes to ease the tension...

Shadowheart is also a way bigger zealot than I realized.
I love the bits of lore I unlock in everything from scrap paper to dead bodies.
Stole a melon in Moonrise 2 seconds after arriving. Succeeded deception to avoid being jailed.

No, ok its been almost 24 hrs since I watched episode 5 of The Last of Us and I really can't stop thinking about it. SPOILERS
Like can you imagine living in and growing up in a QZ that is notorious around the country for having some of the lowest of the low FEDRA soldiers, ones that are known to dish out harsh and cruel punishments, who rape and murder for little reason. Then you find a bit of hope in a man running a resistance, who's trying to make the QZ a better, safer place for the people, someone you find that you can look to, a good leader. But oh no, suddenly your younger brother, who already has a disability that limits him greatly in the world you live in, suddenly has leukemia and the only way you can get medicine that will help him is if you trade someone else's life for his own. Imagine having to grapple with that guilt, with having to make yourself decide between your only family left and a man you see as one of the few good ones left, and ultimately deciding to save your brother. And it works, your brother is safe, healed and no longer sick, but now you're hated by pretty much everybody. So when shit goes down and the resistance led by the man's sister takes over, you know you have to leave because once again, you're brother's life is in danger, so you do whatever you have too, including going into tunnels that are known to have infected and recruit a man you've never met but can tell is very dangerous just from what you've seen. And well things go well, you get through the tunnels without fighting any infected, you've heard your brother laugh and seen him have fun for the first time in who knows how long, things are looking up. But boom, everything goes to shit in a blink of an eye, a whole army shows up lead by the sister, you beg for her to let your brother go and she just sneers about kids dying everyday and that maybe he was meant to die. And welp, boom again, shit gets worse and he'll pretty much unleashes before your eyes and you watch as the infected start taking down everyone around you. But you do make it out, some how unscathed and you feel like the luckiest man on the planet, your brother is here, alive and happy, you get an offer to go to Wyoming with the man that you've teamed up with, everything feels like its gonna be okay for the first time since ever.....what you don't expect is the next morning to wake up to your brother trying to claw and bite at the girl you'd been traveling with, the girl he'd made friends with. You don't expect things to happen so fast and to act on instinct as you shoot your only family, your only reason to keep pushing for better. The kid you've raised and loved and cherished and fought to save time and time again in what felt like a constant uphill battle. You never expected this. You thought you were safe, that HE was safe. What was it all? Nothing? Every decision, every hard choice, every sacrifice for this to be the way he went.....
Idk, just as someone with 2 younger sisters that I played a big role in raising and trying to protect, I can relate to Henry....and I know that I too wouldn't be able to go on if that happened to me, especially if it was by my hand.....

Chapter One
I filed for short term disability for burnout about two weeks ago. I'm still waiting for final approval from the leave group, but I'm reasonably certain it will be.
Step one was ensuring it was an option with my company. I reached out to HR, who is required to keep these conversations and inquiries confidential, and they confirmed it was an option but would need a doctor to say it was medically necessary.
Step two was getting my doctor on board. She grilled me, hard, because saying this is medically necessary when it isn't is fraud and if I was trying to pull a fast one, it's her ass on the line. She was, understandably, concerned as my previous anxiety self test had looked like an improvement and the one I took the day of our disability discussion was a drastic change for the worse. I think she probably thought there was a chance I was artificially nudging my scores. However, the day of my last appointment with her, I had an interview scheduled for that afternoon for a company that I thought was going to be a great change for me. They offered me great pay, the recruiters swore they were a family-friendly company, that they would be accommodating to my kids schedule, and it was closer to home. What actually happened was learning that the job was going to be significantly longer hours, zero opportunity for remote work, and a significant drop in paid time off. So yeah, I had been really hopeful in her last appointment, and still scored fairly high on anxiety but not as bad as I did the day I walked in there realizing that I either had to figure out a way to make things work with my current job, or I was going to be unemployed.
In fact, that's what I told her. I said that one way or another I was not going to be working as of February 23rd, either because I was on disability leave, or because I quit. I think that was when she realized that this was legitimate.
I also agreed to up my therapy sessions to weekly as opposed to the current bi-weekly schedule, I shared with her the steps I had taken to mitigate my depression and anxiety (gratitude journaling, meditation, taking walks in nature, eating better, exercising more, spending less time on my phone, socializing more frequently, sleeping better, etc) and assured her that I'd seen improvements at home, but work was still a disaster.
After our appointment, she and my therapist worked together, and the result is that my doctor has approved the request and believes it is medically necessary.
Yesterday I had my last day in the office, and my last day of work. I also had my annual review with my new-ish boss. The conversation was wonderful, if a bit uncomfortable, and I am genuinely excited about the goals we have set for this year and the projects I'll get to work on upon my return. That being said, it was hands down the worst annual review of my life. Inconsistently met goals, failed to meet goals, standards not set, it was a disaster. Luckily I fully expected it to be a disaster, so it wasn't a surprise and I didn't get upset.
You see, 10 years ago this year I joined the Army. Less than a year later, I was set to run my final PT test on a knee I had injured 6 months prior. I passed my push-ups, I passed my sit-ups, and all I had to do was pass a two mile run. Within a half mile, I knew my knee wasn't going to make it. Around the 3/4 mile mark, my knee gave out and I hit the deck hard. It took a second to breathe, popped up on my feet, and sprinted. My knee gave out again, and I fell. Then I got up, sprinted, and fell. I did this for about a half mile. I wanted everyone who saw me to know that I pushed myself. That I was strong. That I was determined. I thought that made me a worthy person. I failed my test that day, but it wasn't my fault. My knee just couldn't keep up.
Unfortunately, pushing through that pain also gave me lifelong knee problems. I am currently in physical therapy once again due to meniscal fraying because my knee was already weakend and unstable from my decade old injury and exacerbated by pregnancy, and carrying a child who now weighs 26 and a half pounds. I might have made a good impression on the people who saw me running that early morning in Arizona, but in my desire to be seen as someone who wasn't a quitter, I gave myself a lifelong injury.
This time, I failed again, and it still isn't my fault. My mental health is fractured after years of frequent change, the stress of COVID, the stress of being a full-time working mother, the stress of having an injured spouse, the stress of having no family nearby to chip in when things get tough, the stress of difficult bosses, the stress of living with a traumatic brain injury, the stress of ADHD exacerbated by TBI and mom brain... However, I can take ownership of my mental health and work to improve it so that I don't fail again in the future.
And that's my plan. During the coming weeks, I will try to rest a lot. I will try to stop beating myself up based on perceived expectations. The only opinions that matter to me, in order, are mine, my son's, my husband's, my dog's, and my boss's (and that's a distant fourth during this recovery time).
So, I will be a potato. I will sleep. I will binge comfort shows and video games. I will take long walks with my dog and have dinner with my family. I will play with my kiddo and spend tech free time outside. I will remove the things in my house that stress me, and show off the things that bring me joy. I will find rhythms for personal and home upkeep that I can maintain when I go back to work. I will go back to my creative roots and be happy creating things again.
I woke up this morning with my jaw clenched and my back on fire. For now, my goal is to wake-up rested instead of stressed. And that's enough for now.

I broke down and made more hench OCs, this time for Dragon Ball. These two are members of Freeza's army prior to the Namek arc. Danablu is based on a blue-tongued skink, while Colby is based on a frilled lizard. They got hired out of a recently colonized planet and started sticking together after realizing they were from the same village.
Danablu is a grunt and generally acts as muscle. They aren't high on the pecking order, but they're a dedicated soldier, with some genuine admiration for the higher-classed warriors in the force. They grow begrudgingly fond of Colby after the latter makes a point of trying to include them in hangouts with other members of the force.
Colby is a noncombatant recruit who handles the force's version of HR. Basically, they handle any translation issues or conflicts between employees, which, on a crew made of every possible species in the galaxy, happens a lot. Despite not being a particularly skilled fighter, they're on surprisingly good terms with a lot of people close to Freeza. The Cold family are exempt from HR rules, so they don't really drop by unless there's a major issue (which usually just ends in both parties being killed if they're causing enough problems for everyone else). Their underlings are the ones who have to deal with rank and file soldiers causing trouble, which earns Colby a pretty safe position within the force.

nazis started to employ a Lot of psychologists. like, A Lot. and since they were doing it, the allied powers started to employ their own psychologists. they did things like give iq tests to army recruits, because you want your idiots in front and your smart guys manning the tanks and shit.
when the war ended, therapy became a thing. former soldiers would go and chat with their doc, and then they'd bill their insurance. insurance approached the psych side of the world and said "hey we're not like... arguing that this is healthcare, right? but we don't know how tf to pay these bills."
see, when you go to get a surgery done, the insurance company will pay a portion of the bill, and depending on which surgery is done, the amount payed will change. the insurance companies didn't know how to bill therapy because they didn't know what they were being billed for.
so the psych association got together and said "ok, we'll make a little pamphlet for you. it'll be, oh, 25 pages? something nice and small. that way you can figure out how to pay the bill!"
and this was all well and good until psychologists started realizing "hey, the things in this pamphlet don't actually encompass every single mental affliction a human being can experience." so the dsm ii came out! and then the dsm iii... and iv... until today, when we have the Fucking Beast of the dsm v version 5, about 1,150 pages.
so, yeah! the dsm started as an insurance billing tool.
