name: Livita / Livi
star sign: I honestly don’t know anymore, because astrologists are divided about whether or not I’m a Aries or a Taurus, but the general consensus is that I’m an Aries-Taurus cusp.
height: 5′2 and a half.
middle name?: I’m Asian... so I don’t have one, OTL.
put your itunes / spotify on shuffle. what are the first 6 songs that popped up?:
Euphoria — Loreen
On my Own — TroyBoi (feat. Nefera)
Show me Love — t.A.T.u
sin (The Caligula Effect / Ostinato Self Cover Album) — 164 (feat. Yuuma Uchida aka Shadow Knife)
Diary of Jane — Breaking Benjamin
Does she Know — Astrid S
Grab one book nearest to you and turn to page 23. what’s line 17?:
“All the same, the visits to the science room were Sandy’s most secret joy, and she calculated very carefully the intervals (line 17 >) between one ink-spot and another, so that there should be no suspicion on Miss Brodie’s part that the spots were not on accident. Miss Lockheart would hold her arm and carefully dab the ink-stain on her sleeve while Sandy stood enthralled by the long room which was this science teacher’s rightful place, and by the lawful glamour of everything there.“ (The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie by Muriel Spark)
ever had a poem or a song written about you?: /sweats ...NOPE. I’ve actually always been the one to write people poems, but this was back in my cringe-y, boy crazy. highschool days.
when was the last time you played air guitar?: Not gonna lie, I don’t believe I ever actually played air guitar before. I just was never that kind of kid.
who is your celebrity crush?: ...Don’t actually have one.
what’s a sound you hate; sound you love?: Oh, I actually have a lot of sounds I hate, but one that really seems to grind my gears lately is the loud, drill-like sound my mother’s electronic toothbrush makes whenever she brushes her teeth. As for a sound I love, that would probably have to be the sound of soft snow being crushed underneath my feet, because for some reason, I just find it very soothing.
do you believe in ghosts?: Nope, but I still enjoy horror games featuring ghosts and listening to ghost stories.
how about aliens? Other life forms?: Not really? I do find them interesting, though.
do you drive?: Nope. Since I have always been perfectly content with walking or taking the bus/train, I guess I was just never interested in learning how to drive a car.
if so, have you ever crashed?: N/A
what was the last book you read?: /sweats again ...I’m not sure if it counts as a ‘book’ per se, but I did read the complete English translation of The Caligula Effect: EPISODE Marie Mizuguchi ~The World Through Her Eyes~, which was a tie-in novel for The Caligula Effect game. It was honestly very interesting and the fact it also featured a scene with Kensuke being a useless hetero sparked incredible amounts of joy for me.
At the same time, though, it also contains some major spoilers and potentially triggering themes (physical/emotional abuse, gore, body horror, depiction of fatphobia, and discussions of suicide), so I’d advise not reading it if you still plan on finishing the first Caligula Effect game or find the aforementioned themes very upsetting.
do you like the smell of gasoline?: Nope. I honestly don’t understand why anyone would, to be honest.
what was the last movie you saw?: Run Hide Fight, which I had watched out of curiosity because it was apparently directed by Ben Shapiro the facts don’t care about your feelings’ guy. Much to my surprise, though, it was actually a pretty entertaining watch that was devoid of any political leanings, but I wouldn’t say it’s a very realistic depiction of a school shooting and you aren’t missing out on much by not watching it.
what’s the worst injury you’ve ever had?: ...Oh, I’ve actually had a lot of injuries over the years due to the fact I’m very clumsy and accident-prone, but one I recall being the most painful was when I had broken my arm while falling off my bike as an elementary school student. Back then, little ol’ me had been trying so hard to catch up to my older sister’s friends in order to avoid being left behind, I threw caution to the wind and accelerated as fast as I could, but in doing so, I ended up paying the ultimate price. In fact, I still remember waiting at somebody else’s house, resting my broken arm against the arm of a sofa, and those thirty minutes of pure agony as I bawled my eyes out while waiting for the ambulance to arrive.
do you have any obsessions right now?: MAN, DO I EVER... right now, though, I’m currently hyperfixating over The Caligula Effect: Overdose and The Caligula Effect 2. This is later subject to change of course, but at the moment, I’ve been having immense Gin Noto, Kobato Kazamatsuri, and Ryuto Tsukishima brainrot. Still, considering Monark is coming out tomorrow, I have a feeling I’ll also be descending into Monark hell quite shortly and very likely taking up Kakeru Hasegawa as a muse.

FuRyu has relaunched the official website for The Caligula Effect: Overdose, providing a host of new details about the game’s dual story routes, updated features, and new and returning characters.
Get the information below.
[Under a readmore due to length]
■ Introduction
Mobius is a perfect digital world created for the imagined benefit of humanity by μ, a virtual idol vocaloid program that attained sentience and self-awareness.
Only humans who are suffering in the real world and strongly related to μ’s songs are lured into Mobius.
Once they enter, people often forget that the real world exists. Regardless of age or gender, they are turned into students and forced to experience high school over and over, which μ considers “the most radiant time in a person’s life.”
In order to grant the wishes of every Mobius resident, μ curates Mobius’ creative energy by singing songs composed by the “Ostinato Musicians.”
Currently, the city called Miyabi is the only physical area that exists within Mobius. Its buildings and terrain are drawn from the residents’ memories of the real world.
In The Caligula Effect: Overdose, the story progresses as two major routes, the “Go-Home Club Route” and the “Musicians Route.”
Go-Home Club Route
In Mobius, inhabitants become their “ideal selves” that they couldn’t achieve in the real world and then repeat high school endlessly. The protagonist (you) and his or her classmates are outsiders within Mobius that have realized the existence of a reality outside Mobius. Each student has a strong desire to return to reality for their own individual reasons, and form an organization called the “Go-Home Club” to find a way to escape Mobius in order to return to reality.
Of course, for the Mobius inhabitants outside of the Go-Home Club, they are more than happy to remain in this happy world. The Go-Home Club, which is trying to destroy this happiness and return to harsh reality, can only be considered traitors in this world. As the president of the Go-Home Club, the protagonist (you), who meets another songstress named Aria and gains the power to fight, challenges the creator μ and her Ostinato Musician subordinates, and will find a way to escape Mobius by any means necessary. Even if it means kiling the creator that freed them from their own suffering.
Musicians Route
The Ostinato Musicians are composers who protect μ and provide music. In order to preserve the world of Mobius, the Ostinato Musicians are trying to eliminate the disruptive Go-Home Club. The protagonist, who became the president of the Go-Home Club, meets Thorn, the leader of the Ostinato Musicians expected to be the enemy.
Thorn speaks. “I understand that you suffered, and came to Mobius.”
Thorn asks. “And yet, do you truly want to return to reality?”
Thorn laughs. “You are only being used. You must learn both sides of the story.
Using the power of μ, Thorn gives the protagonist the abilities of a Musician, as well as a new appearance as a Musician. From that point, the protagonist (you), will use your appearances as the president of the Go-Home Club pursuing μ, and as an Ostinato Musician protecting μ, to fully understand both sides of the story of Mobius, the world of happiness. And you will eventually be faced with a final decision. Betraying the trust of your comrades comes with a massive toll, and what lies ahead is…
Character Scenarios
In Mobius, you can become a high school students regardless of your age or gender, and attain your ideal self. In other words, your appearance and gender in Mobius is not necessarily the same as in reality.
Even though they are not the Go-Home Club, the Ostinato Musicians are no exception to this fact. They also suffered in reality for their own reasons, and were imprisoned by Mobius. Each has their own deep trauma and complex.
Each of the Ostinato Musicians are covering up their suffering in reality, and only the protagonist (you) can get to the core of their secrets.
However, if you sense danger or develop a feeling of dislike in the true nature they are about to reveal, it is not a problem to turn back. The raw pain that they display may betray the image that the protagonist (you) wanted to love and get closer to.
■ System
The Caligula Effect Reconstructed in Unreal Engine 4
The comfort of the controls, the production, and the visuals have been completely redone. The unique “Imaginary Chain” battle system has also been further evolved to become easier to play. Many improvements over the previous game are included to achieve optimal gameplay. As the name implies, it has overdosed.
Imaginary Chain: New Sensation Command Battles that Combine the Exhiliaration of an Action Game with the Strategy of a Tactical RPG
New sensation command battles that combine the exhilaration of an action game with the strategy of a tactical RPG. The battle system visualizes and predicts character actions before they occur. In The Caligula Effect: Overdose, the battle system has been reformed from the previous game, and has evolved to become even easier to play.
Causality Link: Friendships with Students Gone Astray in Mobius Have Also Been Enhanced
There are over 500 students in the game, each with their own unique names and profile. In the real world, they all experienced trauma and escape to Mobius to live an idyllic high school life. In The Caligula Effect: Overdose, friendships with students who have lost their way in Mobius have also been enhanced. And also in the game, your connections with them will become the key to going home.
■ Characters
◆ Go-Home Club
Protagonist (voiced by Chiharu Sawashiro)
As the president of the Go-Home Club, his goal is to escape from the false-but-perfect world Mobius.
Despite the fact that he was the last to join the Go-Home Club, various circumstances compelled Shogo to hand over the presidency to him.
NEW: Protagonist (Female) (voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro)
As the president of the Go-Home Club, his goal is to escape from the false-but-perfect world Mobius.
Despite the fact that she was the last to join the Go-Home Club, various circumstances compelled Shogo to hand over the presidency to her.
Shogo Satake (voiced by Shunsuke Takeuchi)
A 3rd Year student, he’s the former president of the Go-Home Club.
Despite only being 18 years old inside Mobius, it seems he has experienced the “loop” in Mobius many times.
He is prone to philosophical thoughts and has a lethargic demeanor. He hides deep hopelessness and a strong desire for the real world behind his sleepy-looking eyes.
Izuru Minezawa (voiced by Yuichiro Umehara)
A 2nd Year student on the verge of an awakening.
He’s 17 in Mobius and has been trapped there for one year.
His appearance in Mobius is that of a little-known deceased celebrity from the real world. Izuru is withdrawn and emotionless, demonstrating no concern or interest in associating with others.
He knows that Mobius is a false world, but refuses the Go-Home Club’s repeated invitations. He prefers to seek his own means of escape.
Kotaro Tomoe (voiced by Yoshimasa Hosoya)
Kotaro is a nosy boy whose cheerful attitude doesn’t fit his large build. He often sets the mood at the Go-Home Club.
Kotaro simply can’t leave people alone if they need help. His favorite words are “love” and “friendship.” He has a deep respect for his father and does not hesitate to say that his dream is to become a rescue worker. When you first meet him, he seems like a good guy—bright and energetic—but as time goes on, it becomes apparent that he’s a troublemaker.
Kensuke Hibiki (voiced by Shota Aoi)
Kensuke is a 1st Year high school student.
He is 16 in Mobius and has been there for two years.
An Ostinato Musician who produces songs for µ, Kensuke is an enemy of the Go-Home Club. His battle with the Go-Home Club forces him to question his own existence and he ultimately decides to join his former enemies in their quest to return home.
Kotono Kashiawaba (voiced by Rie Murakawa)
A beautiful young girl with a soothing quality and a prim, mature aura about her.
She’s charming in a way that manages to be both innocent and seductive. She’s kind to all she meets, making her extremely popular with boys.
Kotono fills an older sister role in the Go-Home Club.
Naruko Morita (voiced by Ari Ozawa)
Naruko is a 2nd Year high school student. She is 17 years old and has been in Mobius for one year.
An insatiably curious 2nd Year student, she loves rumors and scandals. She acts like a paparazzi sometimes. She multitasks well and can post on social media while carrying on a conversation about a totally different subject.
She’s been investigating the Go-Home Club, which has recently become a sensationalist trending topic throughout the school.
Mifue Shinohara (voiced by Rie Takanashi)
Mifue has short-cropped hair and large eyes. She eats and laughs a lot. Her favorite things are whipped cream and chocolate cornets.
She has a cheerful, bold personality, and often lightens the mood among the other girls.
She’s good friends with Suzuna, who is in the same grade as her.
Suzuna Kagura (voiced by Minami Tanaka)
She’s a quiet girl that always has a forlorn look on her face…
She has trouble maintaining eye contact when she speaks.
She’s timid, but once she sets her mind to something she’ll always find a way to achieve it. When she’s determined, her voice is sometimes so loud that people around her have to cover their ears or risk deafness.
NEW: Ayana Amamoto (voiced by Maria Naganawa)
A second-year high school student who is quick-witted, strong-willed, and has eye-catching beauty.
However, she has trouble speaking and even making eye-contact with men. She is often violent to the men that oppose her, and the men in the Go-Home Club are no exception.
It seems that her behavior and reactions will change in a big way depending on whether the protagonist is male or female.
NEW: Eijin Biwasaka (voiced by Kenji Akabane)
An third-year high school student who has a handsome face and friendly smile in addition to his intellect and eloquent, gentleman-like speech.
Even without being told, he is already aware of Mobius’ secrets including that this world is not real and that they are on the third-year loop.
◆ Ostintao Musicians
Sweet-P (voiced by Emi Nitta) Composer: OSTER Project
Dressed in fanciful fairytale pastels, Sweet-P is both Mobius’ premier fashion icon and an Ostinato Musician.
She is distinguished by her long eyelashes and big, beautiful eyes.
Just like her fashion, Sweet-P’s songs exhibit a delicate, feminine quality. Some girls go absolutely nuts over her music.
Shonen-Doll (voiced by Yumiri Hanamori) Composer: Polyphonic Branch
Shonen-Doll is a young boy who dwells in Mobius’ enormous library, choosing to competely isolate himself from the outside world.
He always wears a low-hanging hood that obscures his face and hides his expressions.
Sneering at the masses, he writes gloomy, violent songs that attack people with social lives, who he interprets as weak for having to work in a flock in order to accomplish anything worthwhile.
He engages a lot of difficult concepts in his work and has a strong group of fanatical devotees who tend to embrace solitude and individuality and see his music as salvation.
Mirei (voiced by Eriko Nakamura) Composer: CyoucyoP
Mirei lives an idle life of luxury, fawned over by male followers inside her stronghold in Mobius’ Marine Resort.
She is an arrogant and selfish debutante who behaves as though she is the center of the world; however (except for her personality) she truly is exceptional at everything.
She boasts an immense popularity based on her goregous appearance and exceptional musical genius.
She is so obsessed with being number one that she even sees µ, the absolute idol inside of Mobius, as her rival.
Ike-P (voiced by Souma Saito) Composer: Asa
Ike-P is a 2nd Year student that attends the same school as the main characters.
He’s a classmate of Izuru who definitely looks like he’s in a band.
He is a natural narcissist who has a justified confidence in his looks — he’s always striking a pose just to show off.
He’s popular with girls and always wants to improve himself. For some reason, he’s constantly plotting against Izuru.
His distinct style sometimes makes him unapproachable.
Shadow Knife (voiced by Yuma Uchida) Composer: 164
A law-abiding hero who adores justice, he executes those who rebel in Mobius.
He skillfully wields shadows and knives to punish the wicked and the rebellious.
He serves as µ’s personal bodyguard due to his unique and effective combat abilities.
He often does and says awkwardly theatrical things, such as, “he’s the weakest of us Ostinato Musicians,” which makes it difficult for others to respond.
There is a theory that his name, apparence, and even combat abilities are identical to that of an anime character that was popular a few years ago.
Thorn (voiced by Yuka Otsubo) Composer: CosMo@Bousou-P
Thorn is the leader of the Ostinato Musicians.
Thorn is a lovely young girl with a sickly appearance. She appears before the protagonist’s party in an uncanny, phantasmal way — she always shows up where she couldn’t possibly be.
She is the oldest and first composer of µ’s songs, known for her enormously popular dark and brooding love songs.
µ trusts Thorn completely and obediently follows her orders.
Wicked (voiced by ???) Composer: YM
A Musician completely shrouded in mystery. Generally only her existence and songs are known, but there is not a single person who knows what she looks like.
Her songs are filled with intense violence and ridicule everything, delivering a shocking blow to listeners.
NEW: Kuchinashi Composer: Pinocchio-P
A young female Musician with a typically listless expression.
Rather than speaking from the mouth using her natural voice, she converses through a special mouth mechanism that creates a synthesized voice.
More often than not, she suppresses any feelings of excitement.
Extremely individualistic, she often keeps to herself even when gathered among fellow Musicians.
NEW: Stork (voiced by ???) Composer: DECO*27
By far the most suspicious Musician, even among the other unique Musicians.
As his name implies, he wears a stork costume and excels at making love songs that captivate the women of Mobius.
He is a good-natured man with a gentlemanly manner of speaking, but for some reason has a tendency to not treat his fellow musicians very well.
He has the powerful ability to “mimic everything,” and stands in the way of the Go-Home Club.
◆ µ and Aria
Aria (voiced by Asami Shimoda)
She’s a virtuadoll that was created around the same time as µ.
She was forced to take a smaller form in Mobius because of µ’s vast power.
She wants to stop µ, who has become steadily more unhinged since creating Mobius, and return to the real world. To this end, she selects the main characters and grants them the ability to fight.
In contrast to the lovely, immaculate, and perfectionist µ, her personality is bright, cheerful, and casual, which makes it easy for her to make friends.
µ (Mu) (voiced by Reina Ueda)
µ is a vocal synthesizer software that will obediently sing anything her user inputs.
Little by little, a seed of consciousness and self-awareness germinated within her. The songs people told her to sing alerted her to the agony of reality, so she created the eternally-youthful world of Mobius in order to save a tortured humanity.
Now she flies throughout Mobius, bringing bliss to all she meets and ensuring that the smiles never end.
◆ Other
Marie Mizuguchi (voiced by Mai Fuchigami)
In Mobius, Marie is a 2nd Year student and classmate of the protagonist.
She is an exceptional honors student with a gentle demeanor that makes her approachable.
Even while participating in the Go-Home Club’s occasionally dubious activities, she watches over the main characters without too much prying. This is particularly true for the main character, whom she supports as a close friend.
She is destined to be caught in the conflict between the Go-Home Club and the Ostinato Musicians.
The Caligula Effect: Overdose is due out for PlayStation 4 on May 17, 2018 in Japan.

Since apparently Caligula Overdose is becoming my latest hyperfixation, I tried using the Caligula character sorter to see how everyone ranks compared to each other, and…
…I dunno what I expected. Breakdown under the cut, chock full o' spoilers!
Still here? I'm impressed~
I've only played as male!MC, given that I've literally only finished my first playthrough yesterday, but I kinda consider him and Lucid the same, hence their ranking. We don't talk about bad ending!Lucid. Why do I gotta do the bad end too just to unlock the secret content?!
Fem!MC exists in a neutral, zero state of like/dislike for me, since I've yet to "meet" her. Apparently this means Mu and Mirei are just barely on the negative affinity points scale…
The official Dislike line starts from Eiji downwards. This is when the real negative affinity points rack up.
The first four (not counting Lucid, for aforementioned reasons) are also my go-to squad. I play on Hard and tend to be 1-5 levels lower than the average enemy in an area, but even in the Grand Guignol those four would tear through enemies like moth-eaten rags. Lovely. They also may or may not be the ones I relate to most…
Kotono vs Mifue was a difficult spot during the ranking, not gonna lie. I tried to avoid ties as much as possible (except for Eiji and Thorn apparently) so I had to choose, and in the end Kotono won out, but it was this close, and I love both of 'em, aight.
I genuinely didn't expect Ike-P to be my favourite Musician! Well, not counting Kagi-P, that is. I thought it was gonna be Shonen-Doll or Shadow Knife, or maybe Kuchinashi, but nope, it's Mr Popular! Way to go, partner~
Suzuna ranked surprisingly low, even though I kinda relate to her at times. Huh. Kotaro's less of a surprise, he irked me a lot at the start, but he got much better further into the story. Naruko… just doesn't do it for me, and as for Ayana… maybe I'd like her better if I played fem!MC. Sure, she also gets better as you progress further but sadly her WIRE messages are abrasive as ever… plus I'm confused utilising her in fights…
I wasn't sure who's gonna be dead last between Eiji, Thorn, and Wicked. Turns out it was Wicked, huh… I thought it'd be one of the other two, to be honest. But while Eiji and Thorn are evil, Wicked is evil and annoying to me, so yeah.

my experience playing caligula overdose be like:
Tokimeki*Reverie (Remix): *is a completely different mood from its original, changing its key signature to its relative minor*
sin. (Remix): *is changed from rock to epic orchestral, with a different time signature from its original version*
Cosmo×Queen (ThornRemix): *seamlessly merges two different boss leitmotifs to create one cohesive and yet identifiably distinct mash-up*
Me: THAT’S IT. I’m reinstalling my DAW. right. now.

Rank all Caligula Effect Overdose bosses
Sweet-P was surprisingly the hardest, I lost 5 times
Oho, after the GHC come the bosses? Hm, come to think about it, I never lost my entire party in my first playthrough to any of the bosses… but I did get game over'd by a random buncha Digiheads right outside Wicked's arena 🤣 Again, rating under the cut because length~
Kuchinashi: No. Just… no. After jumping through so many hoops just to reach her, you arrive and realise you don't really wanna fight her, only to be forced to do so anyway. Even her remixes just further hammer it home. The battle itself is mostly fine, even if her stun-locks make things a bit tricky, but what happens after removes any of that sense of triumph. 3/10.
Shonen-Doll: Honestly, feels like another of those "missed potential" moments. His design and concept were cool, but the battle itself was underwhelming. He may not like normies but the battle felt so normal, and neither remix really stuck out to me. It ain't bad, just… OK. 6/10.
Stork: Do not let him juggle you. Also, his DoT status effects are annoying, though not insurmountable. I'm mostly bothered by the skill names, but the music, man, the music is somethin' else! The music saves his battle from being a chore, especially considering we had to miniboss him several times before the real deal. I prefer the first remix to the endgame one though. 6.5/10.
Kagi-P: Like I said, his sword's kinda cooler in his Musician form, and even though it kinda stings to be on the receiving end, I still like watching him go slicing fidget spinner. Thing is, you gotta be patient to wait out his counters, so battle takes a while unless ya wanna tank it. Music's decent enough. 7/10.
Sweet-P: She's tougher than she looks, I'll give ya that. My first boss battle after amping up the difficulty settings, she did not wanna go down easily. Honestly though, the most memorable part for me was the boss theme remixes, which were really epic and switched up the mood every time. 7.5/10.
Mirei: Mechanics-wise, an OK battle. But the music amps up the fun factor, and the dialogues with Kotono leading up to it, acidic enough to eat a metal spoon in seconds, is what takes the cake. That said, her endgame battle with Wicked is one of the few battles where I really struggled (only Chiaki/MC and Shogo survived to the end), and that was exhilarating in its own way, heh. Also, Cosmo×Queen is an epic remix and really sets the stage. 7.5/10.
Ike-P: The moment I realised he has practically the same moveset as my Chiaki, I knew it was gonna get interesting~ Mirror matches are always so intriguing, dontcha think? The music's fine both times, not super special but it does its job. And I know this is about the boss battle itself, but I feel I gotta note he's my favourite Musician, so there's that. 8/10.
Wicked: Lemme tell you, by the time we got to her I sure was eager to kick her to Honmachi station and back. She grates on my nerves so much, but as far as boss enemies go that might be a good thing, so, huh. The first remix is fine, but it's the mash-up one for her endgame duet with Mirei that takes the cake; I'm a sucker for mash-ups, and the double-boss was also tricky to beat. 8.5/10.
Thorn: After losing half my squad to the Mirei/Wicked duo, you think I'd learn my lesson and bring a healer to the final stretch. Spoiler alert: I didn't. I marched in to face Thorn and found the battle… easier than expected. I mean, Chiaki died but it was literally one turn before Shogo finished Thorn off, so that ain't so bad, and I was deliberately giving him the coup de grace, otherwise it woulda ended a bit earlier. The music is pretty cool too. 8.5/10.
Shadow Knife: Ah, Chuuni-kun. Another guy who, like Stork, has to be faced as a miniboss a few times before fighting for real. Since he has Izuru's moveset, and Izuru's my main DPS, I knew exactly how unstoppable he could be given the chance, and that's before he pulls the clone jutsu on ya. Add that absolutely awesome remix with the orchestra and altered time signature, and mm… The mirror match with Ike-P was fun, but mirror the strongest guy in my squad and now we're talkin'. 9.5/10.
μ: This is it, folks. The moment my underlevelled, overconfident self finally got bitten. The first battle was suspiciously easy, but then she unleashed her second round, which towered over me level-wise and was immune to Risk Break, and that's when I knew I'm in trouble. I lost Izuru, then Kensuke, then Shogo (and lemme tell you, I was this close to yelling at half past midnight, I literally went "temee dake wa yurusanee!!" aloud), and had to basically play siege with her as Chiaki kept healing and evading and chipping away at her health. Took me, I dunno, twenty minutes? More?—but when I finally did it, it was pure relief. A final boss that really made me work to win, with a soundtrack so awesome I didn't even mind hearing it on loop for so long. 10/10.
There's also a buncha boss battles with our GHC folks, and Aria, and maybe Lucid counts as a boss in a way, since I played that route, but this post is already long and it's three am, so yeah~ Thanks for asking!

Rank each Go Home Club Overdose ability?
Ooooh, that's a fun question aight! I assume you mean their weapons as well as their ultimate catharsis overdose things? Lessee… Better put this under the cut, this is gonna get long~
Eiji: Has the same whip-cane thing as Stork, so that’s questionable enough as is. His ult is neither impressive nor bad, though his moveset is pretty useful if you can stomach having him around. Gets style points for the Glasgow grin, but deducted again for the Venom tongue. 5/10.
Naruko: Tbh, not sure what’s going on here. Sure, the Ostinato guys got speaker turrets too, but Naruko randomly has those and I feel like they missed an opportunity to give her something cooler. That said, I like watching her blank 🙂 face when she begins her ult, and also the tummy-tackle move. 6/10.
Kotaro: Ah, good ol' fisticuffs. Ngl, at first I thought he had like machine gun arms, but nope, they're gauntlets. I like pairing him with Kotono and watch 'em juggle enemies. His ult… I don't even remember what it's like. Uh-oh. Not a good sign. He's aesthetically just eh, but at least he's unique. 6.5/10.
Ayana: Taser shield’s a creative choice, I’ll give her that. Girl really said “what if Captain America, but make it electro?”. Granted the animation’s a bit funny for when she just shoves it in your face, but her ult is a ground pound and that’s neat. Overall not bad, I just think it coulda been even better somehow. 7/10.
Kotono: Graceful lady archer with healing? Gotta admit, that didn't appeal to me at first, it felt kinda clichéd and boring. But once you discover her full damage potential, hoo boy~ Fitting for her character arc, I suppose, heh. Also, her ult is awesome, with the crucified hero villain shot and all. 7.5/10.
Kensuke: His Musician form had a weird claymore, but it looks cleaner, if a bit plainer, once he's recruited. I love when he goes aerial beyblade on enemies, and when he hums his theme song during his ult? Perfection. Also has an interesting playstyle since he’s so reliant on counter-attacks. 8/10.
Suzuna: Not really sure why she has a polearm, but maybe it’s the closest they could get to a broom regarding her witchy theme? Anyway it’s fun watching her jab someone repeatedly in her first move, just poke poke poke poke away~ Her ult is where it gets really interesting, maybe a little edgy but c'mon, that's so cool! 8/10.
Mifue: Hehe croquet mallet go bonk~ The sheer cartoonishness of it goes beyond silly and right back to hilariously amazing, especially when she fires up her ult. Super fun, plus she’s also a great enabler to set up for maximum damage. 9/10.
Protagonist: Ah, yeah, the dual-wield pistols. Such a classic choice. Versatile skillset, if slightly "jack of all trades, master of none", but that's exactly what makes 'em useful. Ult animation is pretty cool, and I still catch myself saying "kore wa... OWARI DA!!" sometimes when playing other games. 9/10.
Izuru: How did he manage to be that edgy without being cheesy? Look at his sword, his half-mask, all his acrobatic flips and extra gestures! But he owns it, somehow; his ult is about the only place where it gets a bit narmy with the whooshing stabby bit but it's oddly charming. Also, extremely useful to bring around. 10/10.
Shogo: Look. Look, Imma hand it to you straight, I'm biased here. Shogo is my absolute fave of the entire cast. That said, what's not to love about his revolver? That sweet, sweet damage output? The ultra cool ult animation?? When the game said he synergises well with the MC, they ain't lyin', mate, there’s a solid lead and co-lead vibe going on, during combat and outside. 11/10.
...so yeah, I did say it’s gonna get long. Thanks for asking! And congratulations for surviving the text wall~
My standard team, for the record, is MC (mine’s named Chiaki), Shogo, Izuru, and one of Mifue/Kensuke/Kotono depending on situation; NG+, I like to take Shadow Knife around as the fourth squadmate. Most days, Chiaki’s a support/enabler, Shogo picks up his combos as burst DPS, and Izuru is my main carry DPS.

I know Kotaro's a good egg, and his skills are very useful in combat, but every single time he finishes a battle and yells out "ore ni makasetoke!" I roll my eyes because dude?? No?? You follow me. I'll leave it to you when you actually do what your Club President tells ya to do! Tch.

After months of hiatus from BSD, @yukihime03 reported to me that a new Kajii SSR has dropped. So of course I had to go back to fetch him, and turned out, I had just enough ability stones left over to pull the Step-Up Scout once.
The moon went purple.

Another day, another morning of randomly waking up with ALIEL pre-installed in my head.
Why. Why is it always this one. I mean there are a few other songs that land up in the start menu earworm slot, but of the entire Tsukipro repertoire it's always ALIEL in particular that snags in my head. I listened to it twice and got its melody and chords memorised because it's just. that. sticky. and I have no idea why.
Hh… I'm probably gonna end up downloading it, huh? Jury's still out on watching anythin', though historically persistent earworms were also how I got into Caligula…
#ari rambles#look i dunno a single word of the lyrics#but i can grab my guitar right now and play the thing from memory#...paradigm box got me into caligula anime which then got me into the game proper#is aliel gonna go a similar route? or is it happy just bein' an earworm?#what am i supposed to do with ya? huh?? whaddaya want with me??
