it took me a while and i mean a while for it to click for me, and for a time i didn't bother listening to any of the songs off of it except for the KEXP live performance that didn't feature the narration/spoken word from leah senior (who fucking rocked when i saw her live, btw) and the only time i'd acknowledge it was when i was poking fun off of the fact that they had a text to speech voice talk about vomiting and dying in it. but man it really grew on me over the years, and i think it's definitely a top 7 gizz album for me! i think the lord of lightning suite isn't that great imo but the murder of the universe suite is great, vomit coffin and digital coffin are fantastic, and the entire altered beast suite is one of my favorite things king gizzard has put out imo both from a conceptual standpoint and from a musical standpoint it just sounds fucking great. i can understand why others might not dig it as much but god it's so fun and stupid i can't help but not love it
