it especially explains why I felt like ma meilleure ennemie was so specifically about ekko and jinx's relationship and their feelings for each other, yet it didn't feel like "let's explain everything that happens" type of song, it's more about exploring what went and still goes on between them behind the scenes, exploring what we don't get a chance to see.

it's like connecting the dots, in a good way, like you see the full picture after you complete the puzzle.

anyway, stromae is a genius and I am, as always, right this makes me wanna scream even more about "pretend like it's the first time" and how great it is.

a little warm up for today

After seeing the bts clip of Amanda Overton describe the deleted Ekko and Powder reunion scene, I can confidently say they shouldn't have scrapped this for "Misfit Toys". The flashback could have given a brief glimpse of Ekko outside of Vi and Jinx's sphere and better establish his and Jinx's relationship later. And they want to establish this dynamic where Ekko and Jinx had this deep friendship but it can only be relegated to music video sequences. Those two have not a single conversation in all of s1, they just get mvs.

Nearly every episode in s1 got a flashback. Each flashback established an important trait for the cast members that was effectively used to further define their characters later in the episode, Silco is the best example of it. It feels like they went with style over substance with this one, because it's not like "Misfits Toys" adds that much to the story, maybe vibes, but not actual worldbuilding like a flashback would have.

After looking all around the world of Runeterra, Ekko, time manipulator, leader of the firelights and unsung hero of the war agaisn't Noxus, follows the trail of Jinx, dreaded terrorist and revolution hero in the Zaunite and Piltovian class conflict, to ask for help for an important project in Zaun. On a nomad caravan in Demacia, north of their home cities, he finally gets to confirm she is alive and well. For a short while, they get to talk. About what they did to eachother, about what they don't dare to dream ahead. The good, the bad, and the ugly. Not that it is any easier than clearing the way ahead of the convoy of monsters.

Okay but there is something seriously wrong with the character designers of ToA

They come up with designs that fuck and then downgrade them to the shittiest thing possible
