arcade genshin headcanons
as an frequent arcade-goer I am qualified to make judgement on what arcade games the genshin characters would be good at
literally no one has ever beaten wriothesley at air hockey - nothing but pure concentration on his face
cyno, kazuha, and lyney dominate ski-ball, venti is also pretty good but its only because he cheats
DDR champions go to gaming, hu tao and itto, surprisingly nilou is really bad, she just gets overwhelmed with the speed and noises and all the flashing lights
klee loves DDR but she gets too excited to do it well, she does beg albedo to play with her though and he's...really good?
somehow zhongli never loses a claw machine? he doesn't even care for it but whenever someone wants to win a toy they drag him over to do it for them, on the other had kaveh is the worst and he's such a drama queen, begs althaitham for more mora to keep trying
childe is 50/50 with claw machines but will just make zhongli do it anyway
you know who has also never lost a claw machine? neuvillette - him and zhongli will never admit it but they get jealous if someone asks the other to help win them a toy
wriothesley, alhaitham, childe, and xiao - car racing game pros, and they're cocky about it too, ironically all of them would be terrible drivers
tighnari is too casually good at the basketball hoop games, and so is kaeya, only difference is tighnari is a good sport and will tell you that you did well anyway, kaeya will shit-talk you the whole time
razor does nothing but play on the coin pusher machines, boy is mesmerised
bennett, xiao and freminet also love the coin pusher machines so they will all play together to win each other little prizes - itto plays sometimes but just doesn't understand the timing element
diluc fucking hates pinball, only because he is SO bad at it, but he will play every time because surely he's got to get better at some point
on the other hand yoimiya and tighnari are incredible
honestly diluc is just there to hold all the tickets to cash in for prizes - he is actually really good at pacman, he just doesn't care for it much
shooting games are always won by chloride, gorou, ayato and alhaitham, but they all look like their working rather than playing a game it's kinda scary
childe gets at least 4 strikes per bowling game, and so does thoma - the rivalry between these two is insane
raiden ei doesn't play any games, she just likes to sit, watch, and buy snacks

I work at an arcade and have been MISERABLE dealing with fuckin middle schoolers the past few weeks so here’s my headcanons of the fam in an arcade!
13 would waste all her points on the claw machines and then beg yaz for more. Yaz would buy her more (because she’s a simp /aff) but drag her away from the claw machines at first chance
Yaz would play to win the most tickets possible because 13 saw a giant squishmallow and obsessed over it, so yaz wants to get it for her- she’d get like 10k+ tickets for her efforts
Ryan would spend all his time playing shooting games or racing games and end up with the least amount of tickets and beg yaz to buy him something
Graham would play more old school games or would play against Ryan (absolutely loses every time)- bonus points: Graham and grace went to an arcade as a date once
Dan would play the coin pusher games a lot and get the second most tickets, although he’d refuse to share because he wants to save up to by di something
13 would insist on doing laser tag and bumpercars multiple times in a row and yaz would have to drag her away from those too, before she spends all her points again
Ryan would win laser tag almost every time
13 would cheat at the claw machines to get a prize for yaz- how do you cheat at a claw machine? Idk but she would
Graham gives his points to Ryan cuz he thinks everything is a waste of space or badly produced (he’d be right)
Other than the squishmallow, yaz would get 13 different candies and other stuffed animals- also multiple fidget toys
Ryan would spend his(graham’s and yaz’s) tickets on an insane amount of candy- like so much candy. The worker would hate him (based off real experience)
13 would insist on paying yaz back for everything and promise a stress free trip, then 10 minutes into it would get arrested
Yaz is pretty nuetral on arcades but 13 loves them
Ryan would challenge yaz to a shooting game and yaz would win easily- like absolutely destroy him
Graham would encourage Ryan to try one of the basketball games and would be super proud when Ryan does well

Just had a thought and now it won’t get out do my head: What do you think an arcade date with zb1 would be like? What’s their favourite game? How’s the most competitive? Who will win you something? Who tells you to win your own things?
ARCADE DATES WITH ZB1
ft. my cursed thoughts bc i didn't have the energy to flesh stuff out
can be taken romantically or platonically bc friends can have arcade dates too
(i love having funny thoughts in between studying + reliving some cute moments looking back at prom photos for inspo so thank you for this)
favorite games:
jiwoong: he's effortlessly just good at everything to the point where he casually plays all the games when you're sitting there like ?? how
hao: over there playing guitar hero or some shit i swear like proving musical talent to the core!!
hanbin: ddr 100% you can not tell me man isn't on dance dance revolution every single moment there. you can't pull him away either. he devours it too like got everyone watching like that one kid
matthew: bro loves playing claw machines to look at cute things bc me too he just sees things and is like "ooooo" and somehow ends up at it for hours but only comes back with one thing for you (it's the thought that counts)
taerae: he's always on the coin pusher but he's so bad like idk why he plays but he loves standing there BUT he will get frustrated when they won't fall and smack it so he gets the alarm rang on him
ricky: he probably likes to play skee ball. idk why but it gives the VIBES like he would probably like how he looks cool. bc it's like the closest thing to bowling and he seems like someone who would like to look cool while bowling
gyuvin: pacman. he has tried every game and found out he is bad at them. the only thing he can go back to is pacman.
gunwook: playing streetfighter but like seriously. has my man sweating over here. please bring a towel for him.
yujin: he gives me the vibes of someone who would play those like shooting simulator whether it be jurassic park or like those ones with the zombies. and he might get jumpscared lol
most competitive: hao
doesn't really try to be but the moment you're in there challenging him, he's going at 100%
would win at like every game and you're sitting their regretting ever doubting him
though he just gives you all his points afterward so you can do whatever you want for prizes
that's the real reason he just wanted some motivation to get more points for you
wins you things: matthew, jiwoong, ricky (kinda)
we've already talked about matthew spending hours to get something for you (he's super diligent about it he will get you the thing you want even if he spends all his money)
wbk jiwoong good at it all, so no surprise he comes back with whatever you wanted (doesn't matter if its 1 or 10 he shall get them all)
so now ricky
why kinda?
well he doesn't actually win you it
he tries but then finds out that it's all a scam and nearly impossible
so he tries to bribe the employee to give it to him
ends up buying it from them for you so it's the same thing right??
tells you to win your own things: yujin, taerae
OK TAERAE IS KINDA GOOFY
he wants to but then gets frustrated that he can't bc like?? who made it so damn hard
so he tries and then almost breaks the machine so ends up telling you to do it yourself
and then we have yujin who's just just like "do it yourself" bc he doesn't wanna
but then you keep bothering him about it bc you can't win
like bro getting a lil annoyed with how badly you want something
so then he plays it
wins
but then keeps it for himself
he says it's compensation for you bothering him about it LMAO
too busy to even be near a machine: hao, hanbin, gyuvin, gunwook
well technically hao is going to get points to get you prizes but he's staying away from the machines knowing they're a scam
the other three though, they're off in their own worlds
like
they take their games very seriously (especially hanbin & gunwook)
gyuvin's just having a nice time being immersed so you don't want to bother him

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
you almost felt your eardrums burst from meguru's high-pitched scream he let out in your left ear. this car ride was hell, even if there were places worse than hell, it would be crushed in the backseat with isagi and bachira. you could feel your legs cramping from the lack of space isagi's manspreading on the right side. you were inevitably squashed in between them. it didn't help when you were sitting on the hard material of the seatbelt right on your ass.
meguru and isagi's moms offered to drive you three to the arcade because the mall they were going to was awfully close to it. ''gosh.. seeing meguru go out with his friends like this.. makes my heart soft.'' yu's eyes almost water as her hands trembled on the steering wheel. ''mom, don't cry please.'' meguru told his mom, almost feeling embarrassed as his figure only sank further in the seat. you knew bachira was a talented individual and you didn't quite understand what his mom had just said.
isagi looked like he knew this feeling all too well. ''there's nothing to be embarrassed about, meguru.'' isagi's mom butt in as she turned her head to look at the three of you fighting over even just a space to breathe easily in. ''i remember isagi also never been the social butterfly like his dad was. the friends he only ever took home were the soccer team.'' i let out a small laugh as i saw the neon-lit arcade from the road. ''here should be fine, thank you so much for- meguru!'' meguru had already opened the door and dashed inside the arcade.
isagi waited for you to finish your farewells and bid his mom a quick ''goodbye, mom'' too. bachira's mom rolled down the window to give us three a small wave and drove away. meguru looked like a ticking time bomb while looking at what was inside of the arcade. people were scattered everywhere and no space wasn't filled with rainbow blinding lights that only enticed bachira further.
your almost popped out of their sockets once they landed on the bright rainbow glowing sign on top of the building. you weren't the type to go around and hang out at places and waste away the time you could use to be more productive. but since meguru and isagi kindly invited you to hang out together outside bluelock. ''c'mon, y/n! it'll be fun, promise.'' bachira grabs you by your hand and drags you inside of the building to go explore. isagi follows behind and gives you a small smile of reassurance.
''yeah, it would be more worth it to spend all your time outside of bluelock having fun, right?'' you three spot a basketball game and a bumper car area. safe to say, you three almost got kicked out 6 times already.
Tumblr media
ㄔ    ִ  alright now onto the headcanons c:
ㄔ    ִ  bachira definitely accidentally threw a basketball at a kid once.
ㄔ    ִ  isagi helped meguru climb the machine to keep shooting the ball inside the ring to get like 1000 tickets or something 💀💀
ㄔ    ִ  isagi knows every single hack to win every prize you wanted in claw games.
ㄔ    ִ  bachira fought a kid to get to play in one of the games; ''you've been in this seat for so long, kid!'' bachira whined while watching the kid stick out his tongue to him, but he bit back by sticking out his tongue back.
ㄔ    ִ  isagi is a boss at those coin pusher machines and always manages to waste every one of your coins but ends up making the whole tower fall
ㄔ    ִ  a worker at the arcane had to hold bachira back and when i tell you they had to HOLDDD him back, i say HOLDDDDD him back.
ㄔ    ִ  like it took them 3 workers to hold him back from knocking a kid out for ruining his win streak or something.
ㄔ    ִ  you and isagi for sure always team up for those zombie gun shooting games.
ㄔ    ִ  bachira would absolutely destroy those DDR machines. (the arrow dance machine where you step on them) like you and isagi had to pry him away from the machine to go check out other games cuz he's been there for like 43 minutes.
ㄔ    ִ  like i can just imagine bachira dancing to one of those hyper-pop songs on the ddr machine.
ㄔ    ִ  you and meguru literally almost broke the wack-a-mole machine cause meguru pulled a mole out of the hole.
ㄔ    ִ  isagi is the type of kid to eat all of the cotton candy.
ㄔ    ִ  bachira definitely climbed on isagi's back while he was rollerskating. the kids were giving them the stink eye while you were literally struggling to stand on your two left feet.
ㄔ    ִ  at the end of the day, you three got kicked out for wreaking havoc in the arcade.
ㄔ    ִ  (you three got banned from it for the rest of your life.)

The Heathers + Veronica go to the Arcade
They're gaymers, get it, gay-mers
Being a small town, there isn't really that much to do in Sherwood
Besides the mall and the movie theater, the main place that people go for recreational activities is the local arcade
Yes, there somehow is still a honest-to-god arcade operating in the year 20XX
And being the incredibly irresponsible and immature people that they are, the Heathers and Veronica spend a lot of time there
It's not the biggest or best arcade out there, but it's what they have
When they arrive they head straight for the prize counter
It's the same junk you would expect at any arcade, you got your plushes, candy, Nerf guns, animal toys, etc.
They each figure out what they are aiming for and head to the token machine
Chandler used to say that they shouldn't spend that much and that they can just buy what they want on Amazon right before her gfs got 500 bucks worth of tokens each
Now she just internally sighs before also getting an absurd amount of tokens
They get so many that they bring one of those giant plastic tubs to carry all of them
They get so many, in fact, that the arcade simply does not have enough tokens to give all of them at once, and once they are done with the first batch the employees have to go and get the tokens from the machines to give back to them
They'll give out some of their tokens to the kids who are there, they really don't need all of them
Same thing with prizes, if they see that some kid is upset because they didn't get enough tickets to get what they wanted, they'll get it for them
They each have a particular style of game they gravitate towards
Veronica goes to the coin pushers
The arcade has a Spongebob, Willy Wonka and Marvel machine
She tends to go to the Willy Wonka one because even though each card individually is worth less, the complete set is worth more compared to the other two
She'll just stand in place for hours, hitting the button over and over again
She enters an almost catatonic state, hypnotized by the coins
One time Chandler came by just to check in on her and see how she was feeling, and when she tapped her on the shoulder she jumped and almost punched her
She plays it over and over and doesn't stop to play something else bc then someone might jump on and win all the cards she pushed forward
Onetime she won all of the cards out of it and when she tried to ask the employee to put more in they told her that she won all of them and that they didn't have any more to put in the machine
Then she moved on to the other two and cleaned them out as well
Duke plays games of chance
Stuff like Big Bass or that Pirate Spin Wheel one, she lives for the thrill of landing on that Big Bass Bonus
She plays them so much that she knows when the machines are about to pay out and so she'll wait, watching all of them, until she sees the signs of a pay out and rush over and get it
While she waits she'll go over to the classic cabinents, stuff like Pac-man or Galaga
Her and Chandler have a 'friendly' competition going and by friendly I mean downright vicious
If she sees that Chandler has beaten one of her high scores she will abandon all ticket-making endeavors to secure her rightful place as Queen of the Arcade
Her name on the machines is HDK and Chandler's is HCN
Speaking of Chandler, she focuses on games of skill
Stuff like Quik Drop, where you have to get all of the balls into moving cups, things where skill plays a major part in how many tickets you get
With these she can rack up a lot of tickets very quickly, her output far surpassing that of her gfs
Bc of that she feels like she can spend her time on games that don't give out tickets, like the classic arcade games
Mac isn't as ticket hungry as the others, she knows that they'll have more than enough for whatever they want to buy, so she does a little bit of everything
She is godly at Skee Ball, always landing in the 100 loop
She spends a lot of time at the claw machines, but she isn't very good at them so she usually ends up getting frustrated and walking away, before getting Chandler to come over and win whatever she was trying to get
DDR is probably her favorite, and she always drags her gfs to play with her
None of them can stand up to her might, and they usually step down breathing heavy and covered in sweat
She also holds the highest score on Pac-man, a record which Chandler and Duke have tried to beat for years but never have been able to
They usually stop around lunch time and order some food
They get two large pizzas, one for Veronica, the other for Mac and Duke to split
Chandler gets a salad bc she thinks their pizza is too greasy
Once they've spent all their tokens they put all of their tickets into the ticket eater, a process which takes close to 45 minutes to complete, and they go help the poor employee at the counter count out all of Veronica's coin pusher sets
They get an average of 200,000 tickets
They split the amount up 4 ways and each get what they want
Duke usually goes for the big expensive prizes, for example one time she was able to get a PS5
If there aren't any bigger prizes, she'll get all the nerf guns and insist upon having a nerf war when they get home
Chandler shudders at the thought of picking up nerf darts in random areas for months
One time she decided to just see how many of the 10 ticket mini army men she could get, just for fun
She ended up leaving with 5,000 of them, and they now sit in a box somewhere in her closet, just waiting for the day Duke comes up with some scheme
Mac likes going for the big stuffed animals
She has a whole collection, her room is just covered in them
Chandler tells her that she has enough and Mac says 'preposterous, you can never have too many'
She also gets the tiny animal toys
Veronica, like Duke, goes for the bigger prizes, but if they have any pokemon cards she'll get those, open them, and regret getting them because she pulled nothing
Chandler usually gives her tickets to her gfs because theres nothing she's interested in, but she occasionally gets something
One time she found this Mickey Mouse toaster that burned his face into the bread, which she thought was just fucking hilarious for some reason
She got it, expecting it to last a few weeks at most
It ended up lasting them 3 years, and they all got kinda upset when it finally stopped working
Before they leave they head into the photo booth
Chandler insists on having one normal picture and they can have two silly ones, but her gfs don't listen and always do something silly
She keeps each and every one of the photo slips
She pins them to a board in her room, and whenever she gets stressed out or angry or upset with her gfs, she goes to the board and looks at the photos and just thinks about how much she loves them, even if they can be infuriating and immature at times

You should steal from your work when you end up quitting. For fun.
Oh please understand I already have and continue to do so.
Before my BF left he stole some of the following: - Both size 'target balls' we use for a majority of cranes if the prize is too big/heavy for the claw - A working barely used 4k Camera - A whole ass anime figure of Swimsuit Nico Robin we've had as a crane prize And - A sparkling, red orb used as an extra for one of the new arcade games we had.
There's more to the list but these are the top ones I rmbr.
Me personally I have stole a handful of prize room stuff and stuff from our 'chibi' claw machines for mostly my friends rather than me but.
Also both him and I have stole some coin pusher cards to make a full deck INCLUDING the rare, which I swiped, so in the future I can get basically 5k tickets for free. LMFAO

I'm currently sitting on the boardwalk in Ocean City, MD. My family has always taken vacations here, and coming here as an adult is basically just me doing all the things I used to do as a kid, but also the things I wanted to because I couldn't... I was a kid. For a long time I just couldn't afford a vacation. I was bound to my job at the cost of my health. And that led to me getting sick when I just wasn't taking care of myself. Being as sick as I was, I wasn't sure I would ever come back here. There was no guarantee I'd recover, and a good possibility I would be dead by now. So I see being here as a triumph on several fronts. I can now afford to take a vacation, and I am now healthy enough to make it here.
Often I would entertain the idea that I was actually dead, watching the world from the afterlife as it just moved on past me. I came back to a world just similar enough to be familiar but different enough to feel like I'm out of place. I felt like a space alien when I tried to swipe my debit card at the supermarket the first time and they told me to tap. And I was just like "that works?"
I told the cashier I was "gone for a while" and they gave me a strange look. I can only imagine they thought I was just out of prison. I tell people now that "I spent five years dead for tax purposes" and that usually gets either a laugh, or a stranger look than the implication I was in prison. A win for me either way.
But returning to places after the passage of such time is bittersweet no matter the circumstances, and being on the Ocean City boardwalk is a good feeling but one that carries a twinge of sadness.
Arcades have always been my happy place. From the Dundalk skateland that had a Darkstalkers machine and an MVS cabinet to Aladdin's Castle where I spent so much money playing DDR, I always felt so at home and comfortable in those spaces. So being back at the boardwalk for the first time in so long, I had to go to the arcades here. I walked along the boardwalk, and man, it's different but in all of the important ways nothing changed. The weird t-shirts. The Thrashers fries. They're selling deep fried oreos now which I am sure is delicious, but the things that would do to my intestinal tract make me cringe in horror.
I stopped at just about every arcade on the way. All of them left me disappointed that they weren't like what I remember. It's all ticket games, coin pushers, or claw machine variants. If they're actual video games they're reworked versions of old school games like frogger or space invaders, or mobile games. I don't mean to sound all boomer about this, like these kids just don't know, that's not what I am complaining about. I saw a lot of kids having a ton of fun, and it was so good to see. The laughter and joy was a delight, and being in such a place is a wonderful experience. Somewhere among those kids is someone building those core happy memories that will make them love the place like I did. Arcades are an important space where, as the great Charles Entertainment Cheese once said, a kid can be a kid. And going to an arcade makes me feel like a kid again.
But being there was also a stark reminder that I am no longer young. The arcades I remember are out of fashion. Those games are niche now. They don't make it to America often, let alone the Ocean City boardwalk. I made it to Sportland, one of the arcades I went to most frequently. I saw more of the same coin pushers and ticket machines. The place changed. Of course it had. Everything changes. But I mourned those days. In a way I was mourning my youth. I found a single neglected Tekken 3 machine and made my Person play me in a first to five. They 5-0'd me. That's how bad I am at Tekken, I got 5-0'd by someone that doesn't play fighting games. But it was fun, and they were a good sport. I also let a kid beat me in Mario Kart, so that was cool. The kid had to be like 10-12. He was happy, and that made me feel good. I won my Person a weird sonic plush, too. I had a good time! A great time! But as I walked out of Sportland with that bittersweet feeling in my chest, I looked over at Marty's Playland, THE arcade I used to spend most of my time at, and I couldn't bring myself to go in. I need it to be just the same as I remember, even though I know it isn't. I need there to be a place unchanged by time, exactly as I remember it, even if it exists only in my mind. And I know that's not reality anymore.
Maybe this is what W.B. Yeats meant when he wrote "There is no country for old men."
But I saw a kid in an Electric Wizard shirt so there is definitely hope for the future somewhere.

[CN] 5th Anniversary - Lucien (Wonderland)
⚠️ SPOILER ALERT!! ⚠️
This post contains a detailed spoiler for a story that has not been released in EN yet! Feel free to notify me if there are any mistakes in the translation~
Tumblr media
“What about taking ten roller coaster rides first?”
“The appearance of Professor Lucien explaining while riding from the last time was so memorable, I can't help but wanting to see it again.”
~
I couldn't help but imagine what it would be like to have a gray rainbow like this in the real world….
“Maybe some things are just so unreasonable?”
“Just like the colors we see in the world now, they may have been given under "unreasonable" circumstances.”
✧ 5th Anniversary Event | Prologue | Creative Workshop | King Fuk Street | Wonderland (You’re here!) | Star Plaza  | Final Day- Heart Rain Lake | Roast! | Truth and Dare Pinball Machine | Random Event tidbits
(T/N: since every day basically follows the same routine of MC waking up in their hotel room to find Lucien not doing anything about his ‘report’ (lol), being suspicious about it, and then Lucien diverting her suspicion, for now I’ll only translate the main part of the story and add other parts (hotel room) later~)
ALSO, it’s recomended to read“creative workshop” part before this, so the ‘gift’ would make sense~
Tumblr media
MC: This is the Wonderland in the guidebook! It's so crowded. There are long lines everywhere.
Lucien: That's because this is the place where the brain secretes "happiness".
Lucien: I don't think there will be anyone that can... resist the temptation
MC: So Professor Lucien can't refuse either?
Tumblr media
Lucien: I should be able to. I just can't seem to say no to you.
MC: Hehe, I really understand that feeling. There's nothing you can do about it~
MC: But will there really be the gift you want here?
MC: Or do you want the gift of "happiness"?
Lucien: This clever lady guessed half right.
Lucien: As for the other half, let's take a look around, and then I'll tell you.
MC: What about taking ten roller coaster rides first?
MC: The appearance of Professor Lucien explaining while riding from the last time was so memorable, I can't help but-
MC: Wanting to see it again.
Tumblr media
Lucien: (•́  ‿ •̀)
MC: Haha, I will stop teasing you. Let's go to the easy attraction first~
Tumblr media
After playing a round of the carousel, the staff deposited some points in my "Fun Card".
I found out that the items in Wonderland can be exchanged for points.
To show my "money" that I will use to buy a gift for Lucien later, I took the initiative to pull him to play all kinds of attractions
After confirming that the roller coaster was the least frightening, I dragged him to ride a few laps.
Tumblr media
Lucien: [chuckle] Somehow… Riding roller coasters can make people's brains secrete just the right amount of joy compared to the flaming wheel.
Once the safety rails on my chest lifted automatically, his calm commentary rang out in my ears, making me snicker as I smoothed his raised bangs.
MC: Yes, yes~ Then may I ask... where will Professor Lucien go next to continue the secretion of joy?
Lucien: I've thought of a more relaxing way, follow me.
Tumblr media
He stretched out his ending in a mysterious way and then dragged me into an arcade - inside, the neon lights flashed rhythmically, and the joyful noise was heard everywhere.
We walked past racing games, claw cranes, and coin pushers and finally stopped at a machine at the corner.
Lucien lifted the fabric that half covered the machine and led me to sit down.
MC: This is…
As I looked around, I saw the poster next to the machine, and my eyes widened a little.
Tumblr media
MC: Is this a coloring game? Haha, that's easy!
I immediately pressed the start button, thinking I would have more "money" in my fun card.
What happened in the next second made me dumbfounded-
The screen that lights up shows an unexpected black-and-white interface; in the center, there is a rainbow waiting to be colored.
Alongside it, dozens of color blocks are ready to fill it up, all in the same gray color.
MC: ...So what's going on here?
Tumblr media
Lucien: Maybe if the game is too simple, it won't be easy to stimulate people's interest.
Lucien: My guess is that it was designed this way from the beginning, probably to test the player's judgment.
MC: But how to distinguish the thirty-five color blocks next to each other when they look exactly the same?
Lucien: The most intuitive method is to test each of the thirty-five color blocks one by one.
He said, casting his eyes down, and after a brief silence, his lips curved imperceptibly.
Tumblr media
Lucien: So… There are a total of 3387917400 permutations and combinations possible.
Lucien: If we do that, we might be here for who knows how long.
After a bit of teasing, he made his own judgment.
Lucien: So it can also be concluded that this is not the path the designer wanted the player to take.
After seeing Lucien make an exclusion, I blinked my eyes in a confused manner.
Tumblr media
MC: Since there is no good way, for the time being, let's try blindly? Maybe it will be the right one~
I put the gray color blocks into the rainbow one by one, and there was no indication that the coloring was successful.
MC: ...
It seems my crumpled face is a little unmistakable. Lucien smiled and rubbed my head.
Tumblr media
Lucien: It seems this machine has a set of rules.
MC: Huhu, can you give me a hint? I have no clue at this point…
Lucien was silent for a moment, raised his hand, and put the color block into the cloud next to the rainbow without thinking.
Lucien: What if I said… They don't really care what color they actually are.
MC: Really?
I couldn't help but imagine what it would be like to have a gray rainbow like this in the real world….
(...haha yeah, very funny PG 😭)
Tumblr media
MC: But wouldn't that be a bit strange and feel out of line with the objective facts?
Tumblr media
Lucien: Maybe some things are just so unreasonable?
Lucien: Just like the colors we see in the world now, they may have been given under "unreasonable" circumstances.
Listen to what Lucien said casually. I think I finally got it and suddenly had an idea.
MC: I see. Since this is a coloring game, gray is also one of the colors!
MC: So it doesn't matter what color it ends up being. What's important is that we fill the picture with something.
I said I was eager to try, but all the rainbows and clouds on the canvas had already been filled, and there was no space left.
MC: This… Can you undo it?
I tentatively poked at the color block on the screen, but the canvas moved a little bit along with my finger.
MC: The canvas is movable?
Tumblr media
Lucien: There is a "trick" in this game, making us only pay attention to the rainbow at the beginning.
Lucien: But simply by looking elsewhere-
As he said that, he dragged the canvas, and as he did so, cities, mountains, and streams began to appear on the canvas at different distances….
Lucien: By doing so, we have gained access to the world and the landscape.
MC: Haha, since there are so many places to fill, let's just fill everything up~
After that, I dragged Lucien to fill up the color blocks as he wished. When the whole canvas was filled up-
The picture turns into color in a flash.
The river turns orange-red like the sun, the mountains turn pink like cherry blossoms, and the woods turn purple-red from the afterglow.
The "world" in front of me is very absurd, but it is gorgeous.
At this time, Lucien took out the park's point card from my pocket and inserted it into the card slot on the side.
After he pressed some buttons, there was a slight chime from the machine, and our finished canvas got printed out.
Lucien held it in his hand, and there were shallow ripples in his narrow eyes.
Tumblr media
Lucien: I really like this "belated" gift.
I was stunned for a moment and smiled as I fit snugly into him.
MC: I'm also very satisfied to give you this special gift.
Tumblr media
MC: And I can't believe that the world is quite lovely with our choice to follow our hearts' desires~
MC: Lucien, do you think there will really be concrete-colored clouds, pink mountains, and purple trees in this world?
Tumblr media
 Lucien: There will be.
His voice is very soft, but his tone is full of certainty and seriousness.
Lucien: Maybe in that world, there are many rules that we are familiar with that were broken and formed into new rules.

Beanie has the sheep ability to headbutt damn near anything and not be really phased by it
He frequently headbutts vending machines and those coin pusher games in arcades. He's broken car windows just to spite people and regular windows too.

Just a fun little drabble with Johnny, Nooshy, and Mason interacting.
The arcade was located on a busy street next to a cupcake bakery on one side and a toy store on the other. A honestly great set up for any kid or those who just enjoyed fun things in life. Though animals of all ages went to the arcade too of course.
Yes, it had seen better days and was not as big as it used to be. But it was still there. Hopefully that would be the case for more time to come.
But that wasn't what the trio who approached the place were thinking now. Johnny was the one who brought Mason and Nooshy to the place. He looked at the sign. It's various colors of red, blue, green, yellow, and orange, all those colors in giant dots and the letters of the arcade name in red and yellow, were muted by age. But even so, it still brought back fond memories for Johnny. It still made him smile at the sight of it.
"I liked to come here and waste time on the skee ball machine." Johnny said. "Just hadn't had a lot of time to get back here since joining the theater. So it's nice to get to visit."
Nooshy went ahead of Johnny and Mason, having already spotted some games from interest through the windows.
"I'm interested to see what games this place has." Nooshy said.
"Me too." Mason said. "There wasn't even a arcade in the town I grew up in."
"Then this will be a fun experience for you I hope." Johnny said.
The inside of the arcade looked a bit more kept up then the sign outside the arcade suggested. Walls were more newly painted, white with red lines and with images of items that one would find in a arcade. Game tokens, tickets. These items had fun little expressions painted on them.
Currently there were a couple of families and a small group of teenagers sharing the arcade with them. There was a air of ease and fun that was soothing.
Another look around the arcade showed more games that were on the newer side of things. Some of them were shooter type games, a few coin pushers, and various others. So many possibilities of games they could play. Instead of rushing right to a game on first sight, Mason and Nooshy were walking around the arcade to take in the various games and decide which they would like to place first.
Mason was looking at a target shooting game, the carnival style targets on a video screen. Something about the fun music and the bright colors from the game was drawing him in.
On Johnny's side of things, he was trying to avoid going right to the skee ball machine. As much as he loved that game he did want to see what new games had been installed since his last time here.
Nooshy was still roaming the arcade, looking for that just right game to start with. Then Nooshy suddenly stopped, and took a few steps back. Looking right down the aisle of games she nearly passed confirmed what she thought she had saw. She then gasped and jumped on her heels in place.
"Look, look ,look!" Nooshy cried.
Mason and Johnny heard her call out and wandered over towards her. Then she grabbed the arm of the nearest friend, that happened to be Mason. Nooshy pulled Mason down the aisle to the game that had caught her eye.
The game was not like the arcade cabinet games. It did have a screen element to it. But the main component to this game seemed to be the two pads on the floor in front of the screen. Mason could see blue and yellow arrows in various directions on the pads.
"They have a Step Step! Dance Dance! machine here." Nooshy said.
Mason was looking at the machine like it was something that completely perplexed him.
"I have not seen this game before." Mason said.
Johnny by now caught up to Nooshy and Maosn. He glanced at the machine.
"I've seen it, but I've never tried it." Johnny said.
Nooshy gasped as if the two had just admitted that they had stolen from orphans.
"That's it. I must show you both the wonders of Step Step! Dance Dance!" Nooshy said.
She ran up to the machine then turned to face Mason and Johnny once more.
"Who wants to play against me first?' Nooshy asked.
Mason hesitated in answering, looking unsure. Johnny picked up on that.
"I'll go first if you don't mind, Mason." Johnny said.
Mason nodded.
"I don't mind at all. I can watch you both and understand how this game works better." Mason said.
With that decided, Johnny took his place on his dance pad. Nooshy was already on hers and was choosing the two player option. Nooshy was also the one who chose the level and the song. She had chose the beginner setting even though clearly she was much more well versed with the game and though Johnny also was a great dancer too at this point.
Sometimes real life skill didn't translate immediately to a game. And a game had it's own rules to learn before being able to really excel at it. So beginner it was.
The game begin, with a cute voice from the game telling them to "Dance!".
Images on the screen were many and bright, a back ground of cute characters behind the arrows coming down the screen that had to be matched on the dance pad. It could get over whelming very quick to some people. And Johnny was a little apprehensive at first. But once Johnny had a better idea of where the arrows were placed and the beat of the music, he was starting to catch up a bit to Nooshy's score. Though by the end of the song he did not quite gotten to the point where he could beat her.
"I want to try that again." Johnny said. "If that's okay
"You can take another turn." Mason said. "I'm honestly still getting the rules of this game down."
"Okay then, round two it looks like." Nooshy said.
And round two was on. This time Johnny was doing good right out of the gate, keeping up with Nooshy and time to time his score going over hers. But each time that happened it did not last long. And in the end Nooshy won once more.
"My reign stills stands!" Nooshy cried.
"Yes it does." Johnny said with a small laugh. "I have to admit it, you are the queen of this game."
Mason, still leaning against one of the arcade cabinets spoke up once Nooshy was done celebrating.
"I think I'm getting a better idea of how this game works now." Mason said.
"Great! Let's do this then." Nooshy said.
Mason stepped towards the game, looking ninety percent sure of himself with a ten percent allowance for performance anxiety that he so rarely got considering his job. But it did happen a bit time to time. Even then, Mason took his spot before the machine and readied himself for the surge of music and the images of arrows that were soon to appear on the screen.
Nooshy chose the game difficulty as easy again, and the same level as she had played with Johnny. And then the game was started. Because he had been watching long enough he did have a small idea of what to do. Though watching and doing were two different things.
As his rhythm got better and he started to get more arrows. Mason started smiling more and looked less like he was just trying to keep up.
"Now you're getting it!" Nooshy cried.
"I'm going to beat both your scores." Mason said.
A playful, empty boast. Mason knew that as did the other two. He was just laughing along with Nooshy and Johnny.
The results by the end of the song were the same as both rounds with Johnny.
"Dang! You win again." Mason said, admitting defeat.
Nooshy whooped, startling some other the other animals in the arcade.
"Undefeated!" she cried.
"I didn't even beat Johnny's high score I think." Mason said.
"You got close though." Johnny noted.
"I will consider that a win." Mason said.
Now that the game was done with and Nooshy had a moment, she was now understanding that she was getting a bit tired.
"I think I need a short rest." Nooshy said.
"Well yeah, you danced three rounds in a row." Mason said.
"No regrets." Nooshy said. "But I am going to hit the snack bar for a drink."
"After that, who wants to go up against the skee ball champ?" Johnny asked.
"Oh, so you're the champ when it comes to skee ball now?" Nooshy asked with a grin.
Johnny crossed his arms, still grinning.
"There isn't a high score screen for it. You can't prove that I'm not." Johnny said.
Mason grinned back and also crossed his arms, matching Johnny's body language.
"True. But one of use could dethrone you either way." Mason said.
"Only one way to find out." Johnny said.

Lunch @ Loki: LUNCH!!! (Translation: MY FRIEND! You made it! And you brought along more friends, too!!) Lunch looks like he’s trying to get Loki to pick him up! (Will you play the coin pusher game with me, please? That’s my favorite!)
Loki had just split from her group and gone toward the arcade when she heard a very familiar cry. “LUNCH!!!” came the voice from below, an unmistakeable sound that immediately drew the taur’s attention. There he was, the birthday boy himself. She reached into her saddlebags, pulling out what appeared to be a small lei, only made with paper cutouts shaped like Minecraft diamonds. Had to keep the theme, after all.
“Lunch!!!” Loki replied, much less loudly than the bird’s voice. “Hello, sweetheart; happy birthday!! You’ve picked a fantastic spot to have your party!” She watched the Zapdos’ motions, gently lowering herself downward, placing the lei around his neck and wrapping her arms around him. She gave him a warm, firm hug, then lifted him into the air, making sure to support his feet so he wouldn’t sag in her grasp. She then rose back to her full height, giving his chin a couple of quick scritches with her left hand and rumbling happily.
“You want the coin pusher, you said? I’d love to play that with you! There’s just something special about watching them drop and line up just right…” She walked over toward the coin pusher machines with Lunch in tow, her tail swaying in anticipation. “Who knows, birthday boy… maybe you’ll be extra lucky with it today! C’mon; let’s go win you a whole ton of tickets…”

Tipping Point is a British quiz show that aired on ITV since 2 July 2012, the programme is presented by Ben Shephard and features three players (four players in Series 1–11) answering questions on the subject of general knowledge in order to win counters, which they use on a large coin pusher arcade-style machine, that represent (mainly) cash prizes.[3][4]The machine consists of two shelves filled with flat circular counters; the upper shelf slowly extends and retracts, whilst the lower one is stationary. The rear face of the machine is divided into four drop zones, each of which contains a pegboard similar to those found in pachinko machines. Contestants answer questions to win counters, then choose a drop zone and press their buzzer to release one counter at a time into that zone. The goal is to have the counters land flat on the upper shelf so that its retraction will cause them to push other counters over its front edge, leading them in turn to push still others off the lower shelf and into a collection trough referred to as the "win zone". Contestants win £50 for each counter that drops into the win zone during their turn. Any counters that bounce out of the machine and land on either the floor or the lip of the win zone during a turn are still credited toward that contestant's score.Only the winner at the end has a chance to take home any money; the others leave with nothing except any non-cash prizes they may have won during the game.[5]

its official i am OUT OF THIS FUCKING ARCADE JOB in two weeks. my last day will be tuesday the 30th (i dont work wednesdays bc of my second job)
which is great fucking timing bc i got the DUMBEST FUCKING EMAIL OF ALL TIME this morning !!!!! apparently !! policy change !! the highlights of this fantastic email include:
team members are no longer allowed to play games that give physical prizes (claw machines, marble pusher) or ticket farming type games (coin pushers, ticket ring claw, the pearl game i like)
we are still allowed to play the other games, provided we are out of uniform (nametag off and 'staff' on the back of the shirt not visible) and not on the clock. this was already a thing tho so im not rlly complaining abt this one.
team members cannot redeem any of their tickets for prizes. at all. even off the clock. im particularly upset over this bc like. i get plushies and candy from work all the time. i have gotten several of my siblings bday or christmas presents from work bc i cant find this stuff at walmart or the mall !!!!
apparently we also cant give our tickets to other people to use (in my case, my sisters cant use my tickets). which also sucks. a lot.
team members cannot combine left behind or found player card tickets/money onto our own or other people's cards, we just have to put them in the lil recycling bin to be wiped and reused. so for example, if someone said 'hey put whats left on my card on the next persons' we CANT
im so tired of this place. god. ugh.

You know I saw a claw machine for sale and was reminded of a dream I had where I tried to buy a toy claw machine but couldn't, and suddenly I'm down an Internet rabbit hole, three hours into scrolling and searching, 20 tabs open, and now completely sure I need my own private arcade room with a real size claw machine, a coin pusher, a pinball machine, any odd arcade games I can find, a big coin operated gum ball thing and a coke branded fridge for beverages. Also air hockey
