Not a lot to say abt this one, my friend just suggested I put him in a robe.
Oh, and the constellation in the back is Ara, the altar! It's where gods would pledge their allegiance. Semi relevant to the lore.

NGC 6188: Dragons of Ara Image Credit & Copyright: Carlos Taylor
Explanation: Do dragons fight on the altar of the sky? Although it might appear that way, these dragons are illusions made of thin gas and dust. The emission nebula NGC 6188, home to the glowing clouds, is found about 4,000 light years away near the edge of a large molecular cloud, unseen at visible wavelengths, in the southern constellation Ara (the Altar). Massive, young stars of the embedded Ara OB1 association were formed in that region only a few million years ago, sculpting the dark shapes and powering the nebular glow with stellar winds and intense ultraviolet radiation. The recent star formation itself was likely triggered by winds and supernova explosions from previous generations of massive stars, that swept up and compressed the molecular gas. This impressively detailed image spans over 2 degrees (four full Moons), corresponding to over 150 light years at the estimated distance of NGC 6188.

NGC 6397, C86 // AnaTa
Discovered by Nicolas-Louis de Lacaille (1713-1762) in 1752, NGC 6397 is one of the nearest globular cluster to Earth, only 7,800 light years away in the constellation of Ara, the Altar. Knowing the cluster's distance and properties of its stars, astronomers could determine the cluster's age, finding that NGC 6397 is a cosmic relic at a staggering 13.4 billion years old!
The universe itself came into being about 13.8 billion years ago, making the stars in NGC 6397 some of our galaxy's first homesteaders!

Dragons fighting in space?
Just kidding. These "dragons" are made up of gas and dust in the emission nebula NGC 6188, which is 4000 lightyears away in the Ara constellation!

Hello! I understand that naming characters can be difficult, I also understand that when we create AU's in which a character is trans or hiding and need to create a deadname/fake name it can be a struggle. HOWEVER-
When it comes to naming Black OC's or giving characters like Sirius and Regulus genderbent/deadnames I will not take any excuses for things like "Siriana" and "Regina". That is about the only family in canon who already HAS a naming convention, and yes, I realise not all of them follow it. However most DO.
So! For your perusal, I have taken the liberty of spending two weeks of my life scrolling Wikipedia to find a list of constellations, star names and star nicknames that could be used instead! Please use them I beg of you.
As a helpful guide, any names already used in canon are starred. Any names that MIGHT be used in canon (it's been ages since I've read the actual books, forgive me if I've missed any) are double starred.
And without further ado I present...
Skew's list of perfectly acceptable Star Names from a-z:

Ok I think it's time to introduce one of my oc to you
Welcome Ara!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They are a collector toh oc!
He is based on a constellation of the same name and almost all of the design choices are based on the constalation! If anyone would be interested I can elaborate
You can see her weapon on the second picture! It's actually a star that is located inside their hair and with contact with anyone turns them into an incense
and on the last one she is with his sister! Wonderful Starbeam by @laurenceberkowitz !!

Note
I think I mentioned in an ask to you once that Luminara’s name essentially means "AN inordinate amount of light", but I realized I don't think I ever shared the finale of my investigation into her name.
So, to review:
Unduli = Unduly
Unduly: To an unwarranted degree; inordinately
But after that I had not idea what her first name meant other than it's obvious connection to the word "Luminous".
Then I realized, maybe her name is like the word helicopter. Instead of heli and copter, helicopters root words are helico and pter! (I am normal, I promise) So then we break her name into Lumin and Ara
Lumin: A word derived from the Latin lumen, meaning "light" or "glow"
Ara: Ara is a name that comes from Arabic and Persian, and means "opinions or "adorning". It is also the name of a constellation, also called "The Altar" from its connections to the latin word for altar.
So there's that I guess. I promise I am normal I just like looking at root words way too much
Oh yes I do remember this ask and I know I answered it a few years back! I’m sure it’s somewhere deep in the Luminara tag but yes I absolutely adore Luminara’s name, it’s more beautiful than I can put words to and she will forever and always deserve more love and appreciation 🥰💚
