"BRAVO, THAT WAS quite the virtuoso performance!"

the enthusiastic clapping of the demon prince's taloned hands echoed eerily all around the stunned silence of recent death, as he sauntered in prowling semi-circles around the bashful musician and bona-fide director of the orchestra of sacrificial massacre around them; bodies lay scattered on the floor, bowed upon their discarded instruments, some with their hands uselessly reaching skywards in their final, gasping moments.

first, four crimson slits burn like coals embedded within a deathly pale mask; an impossibly tall and other-worldly silhouette shrouded in an army of eldritch shadows heaving and slithering around him, trailing with every step and swish of his cloak as they danced with the flickering candlelight. the owl prince of the ars goetia finally came into full view and regal finery in the dimly lit, unhallowed grounds of the deconsecrated church.

"--and what a marvellous setting. I'm more of a violin enthusiast myself, but the organ does make for a gloriously rhapsodic entrance. it's been a while since someone used this particular ritual to sell their soul for musical prowess, no less. how poetic."

he cooed in unabashed delight, stopping short of the small human so that his sinister shadow covered him like a cold mantle. the ritual was rather old and full of whimsical flourish and dramatic flair, just as stolas had intended many moons before when he guided the hand that wrote it to summon him in a most triumphant fashion. it had been a long time since he'd felt the irresistible pull of a summoning, tearing at the seams of his essence, unmaking him to remake him on the earthly plane where his sacrifice of souls awaited.

(he'd been merciful - as beautiful as fresh blood looked, streaked across marble floors and spattered prettily upon the rotting stone of the faces of angelic statues, he allowed for the victims to keep their blood and organs within their bodies.)

he'd been since burning with curiosity as to who had pulled off such a feat-- only to find out it had been helplessly accidental, a child playing with a stick of dynamite.

the demon canted his crowned head, slender talons curling around his chin in thought as he mused and studied his latest summoner with a whetted predatory gaze, as if to pick him apart morsel by delicious morsel.

"hm, looks like you didn't properly read the label though. it takes a rather large sacrifice to summon someone like me, you know ? oh, but don't you worry about the mess, my dear."

he made a vaguely sweeping gesture towards the remains of slaughter, unable to restrain a gleeful hoot before schooling his expression into one of fabricated sympathy for the musician's unfortunate (or perhaps fortunate, depending on the prince's mood) plight.

"I assure you they barely suffered --well, at least compared to what they will experience once they've descended to hell. now.."

he clasped his taloned hands, shifting his mien into an amiably lighthearted one without warning, as if he were simply switching between theatrical masks.

"--onto business. what can this old owl do for you, my dear fellow ? "

“  actually,  did  you  know  that  the  phantom  of  the  opera  title  song  is  prerecorded?  ”  moxxie  can't  keep  his  voice  level,  he's  just  thrilled  to  be  able  to  talk  about  it.  “  christine  hits  the  highest  note  in  the  entire  show  at  the  end  of  it…  so  it's  prerecorded  to  help  prevent  voice  strain.  also,  during  the  title  song  when  you  see  them  descending  to  the  lair?  it's  not  actually  the  leads,  it's  body  doubles.  ”  a  deep  breath,  and  a  nervous  chuckle.  “  sorry,  shit,  i  could  go  on  forever…  i'll  stop,  i  promise.  ”

"Woah, that's a huge case." It wasn't his first time witnessing someone lugging around an instruments, but it always amazed him that people willingly ( sometimes even happily ) did it. "What'cha got in there? It doesn't look guitar-shaped or anything."

Given that you're the de facto person who comes to mind when the Odyssey is mentioned...thought you should know Christopher Nolan is doing an adaptation

I'm just kind of giggling about it to be honest. Like Nolan is great I'm sure, I've heard lots about his movies. But the idea of Tom Holland possibly being like Telemachus or something (god forbid Odysseus) is so funny. Who's playing Odysseus here? Matt Damon? Robert Pattinson?? I think Pattinson should be able to do whatever he wants

pathologic 3 announcement made me return to the classic game and finally play it properly! i think my favorite part of the bachelor's route is when he talks to maria kaina (or whoever's in her body at the time) and they explain that their planned Utopia isn’t even supposed to be a 'perfect' place but instead 'the mystical manifestation of a world inscrutable and inaccessible to men' going back to the original meaning of the word irl and instead of despairing Daniil fervently agrees that this kind of unimaginable leap is worth it, no matter where it actually leads

A deep, hearty laugh left the massive hero. He couldn't fault the young man for being honest. These days, it felt like a right of passage to be loud and abrasive. Taishiro wouldn't argue with him, and neither would be attempt to guide him with a heavy hand.

Your first initial impressions of any Twst character vs your current feelings about them?

honestly, my perception of pretty much every character went through some metamorphosis of "this guy looks like a jerk" to "oh, he's a stupid jerk? now hold on." it's all about that balancing act between a dark brooding asshole and a dark brooding asshole who is also totally ridiculous, and it really does make ALL the difference.

perhaps most ironically, I've mentioned before that I was absolutely not into the Diasomnias at first, because the impression the website gave pre-release was somehow even less favorable than for everyone else and I was mad at Lilia for getting my hopes up for a token girl). and then we got their stories and, well, I kind of just haven't stopped thinking about them since. 🤷

also, I went in thinking that Crowley was going to be. y'know. competent at his job. a helpful guide. a mysterious yet caring mentor figure, a fitting leader for this band of delicate young magic waifs with their fancy little magic outfits and their perfect, perfect hair. I've never been so glad to be wrong.

i am. rotating them in my head. forever and always. personally i think there should be more batdad aus in dpxdc, their dynamic could be neat. :)
