Cassandra Deleted Dialogue
Cassandra Masterpost
—
Cassandra: Leliana mentioned a Grey Warden in the Storm Coast, did she not? I have my doubts their disappearance is related to our troubles, but she is not often wrong. I would look into it.
—
PC: I was hoping we could spend some time together.
Cassandra: I suppose there is nothing pressing right this second.
Cassandra: If you like, certainly.
Cassandra: Are you not heading out of Skyhold? As you wish.
Cassandra: I’d enjoy that. ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Cassandra: I’ve never understood this game.
Cassandra: Ha! Can you believe it? I’ll win this round yet.
Cassandra: How often must Varric play this to become as good as he is? It boggles the mind.
Cassandra: You’re cheating, aren’t you? Can you cheat at this?
Cassandra: Madness. I only draw a card once I no longer need it.
Cassandra: Andraste’s tits! Why do I keep playing this?
Cassandra: I’ll play my hand! Just… give me a moment. It will come to me. ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Cassandra: I’ll go easy on you this time. Three bruises is enough, I think?
Cassandra: (Chuckles.) You almost had me that last time. One more bout!
Cassandra: Now then, a little practice bout, yes?
Cassandra: Take me down if you can, Inquisitor. Do your best.
Cassandra: Let’s see how you fare in one-on-one combat.
Cassandra: …years of practice under my mentor, Seeker Byron. The man was a warrior without peer.
Cassandra: Maker’s breath! Fine. One more bout, and then I give up. ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Cassandra: The uniforms were Josephine’s doing. It’s still a mystery to me.
Cassandra: …and there I stood at the monastery’s gates, the apostates staring at me as if my hair were on fire.
Cassandra: The Lord Seeker never let any argument go. He was like a dog who refused to let go of a bone.
Cassandra: …so I opened the chest only to find an entire cache of lyrium vials. “Just some rags,” ha!
Cassandra: …twelve templars in one Circle. I never saw the like before or since. The knight-commander was beside himself.
Cassandra: You notice how they look at you? There are many who would give anything for such reverence. ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Cassandra: Interesting that this ruin stood empty all this time. I wonder how Solas knew of it?
Cassandra: Majestic, isn’t it? Of all the spots in Skyhold, I think this is my favorite.
Cassandra: …and then twice again before the battle was through. It took me weeks to recover.
Cassandra: …and so I said to the man: “is this a jest? Put your trousers back on, you fool”
Cassandra: …and they would look at me with such fear in their eyes. I could never stand that part of it.
Cassandra: …nine times out of ten, it was nothing. Just fears and useless superstition. (Sighs.) ㅤㅤ ㅤ
Cassandra: I never said I was frightened of horses. They just… have such large teeth.
Cassandra: Can we ride fast? I prefer galloping, and I suspect the horses do as well.
Cassandra: Do we have any apples? I can’t believe I forgot to bring even one.
Cassandra: …and the chevalier’s horse threw him, on cue. I could not stop laughing.
Cassandra: No, nobody solely speaks Orlesian any longer. Well, perhaps the marsh-folk.
Cassandra: I always wanted to visit Minrathous. Someday I’ll see the twin guardians for myself.
—
[Part of the jealousy dialogue. These lines are not technically deleted and can be heard in-game using the bi-Cullen mod. (ask me how I know)]
Cassandra: It’s probably nothing, but it claims that you and Commander Cullen are…
Cassandra: Ah. Is Commander Cullen aware of that?
—
[Low approval scene. It may still be in the game, but I cannot find the plot trigger for it.]
Cassandra: Honeyed words. Liar’s tongue. And I fell for it all.

"quick act natural" from the shit you don't want to hear list. I feel it's a line Adrian would likely say
Oh that is definitely an Adrian line.
I'm starting to feel the my post DA2 FenHawke dynamic with Adrian is: Adrian dose something ridiculous, Fenris stares at either confused and questioning his life choices, or desperately trying not to laugh.
So some more Adrian Hawke being a reduculous idiot for tonight's @dadrunkwriting
“Templars!” Adrian hissed, ducking slightly behind Fenris. Which given the height difference, it wasn’t exactly the most effective cover. “Quick, act natural!”
A puzzled look crossed Fenris' face as he glanced over his shoulder. "What do you mean 'act natural'?"
With exaggerated flair, Adrian threw his arms out in a wild gesture, "You know, blend in! Just... be regular people. We're here for mundane reasons, just buying supplies. Nothing suspicious about that."
"We are here for mundane reasons," Fenris stated, his gaze shifting to the Templars, "And regardless you are not a mage, Adrian."
Rolling his eyes and, Adrian lowered his voice, ducked down to move closer to a fruit stand. "Oh, right. Because ‘not a mage’ is a perfect disguise when there’s a fugitive apostate holed up on our ship."
Sighing, Fenris glanced back at the Templars, who were talking to a street vendor a few stalls down. Anders' presence on the ship was a concern, but as long as they didn’t give the templars a reason to question them, or search said ship, there was no real threat. He yurned back to Adrian who was now practically pawing at the fruit, "You’re drawing more attention you realise? Stop... Flailing."
"I’m not 'flailing'. I’m improvising," came the whispered reply. Straightening up, Adrian plucked an apple from the cart, inspected it briefly, and with exaggerated distaste, placed it back. Then, he picked up a strange purple fruit, squinting at it as though it were an alien artifact. "What is this? Is it... poisonous?" he asked, holding it out for inspection.
Shaking his head, Fenris leaned casually against the stall, glancing at the purple fruit. "How are you a rogue?"
A smirk crossed Adrian’s face as he lowered the fruit, winking dramatically. "If you stand out enough, people stop noticing you. It’s all a mind game," he explained, voice dripping with mock gravity. "You confuse the senses. Reverse subtlety. Confuse them with chaos."
Fenris raised an eyebrow, his gaze flicking from Adrian’s overly casual stance to the Templars. "Confuse them with chaos?"
"Exactly!" Adrian waved the apple for emphasis. "It’s like camouflage, only louder."
After a moment, Fenris shook his head., "And here I thought you were just trying to hide behind a pile of apples."
Grinning, Adrian winked, slowly returning the apple to the basket, "Well, that too. But hey, a rogue knows how to improvise."
"Sometimes, I wonder how you’ve survived this long," Fenris muttered.
"Raw brilliance and charm," Adrian exclaimed with a wink, tossing an apple into the air again.
Fenris shot him a sidelong glance, lips twitching as he stifled a laugh. "Clearly."

Happy Friday Ro! For Virelan x Solas - hiding their relationship from other friends because they know the reaction they’ll get - from enemies to friends to lovers?? 👀
Thank you!! For @dadrunkwriting
~~~
"I don't know about you, but I can't go on like this."
Solas's brow furrowed as he peered even closer at his book. Virelan wondered if he'd pretend he hadn't heard.
"How do you mean, Inquisitor?"
Virelan scoffed, then tossed her notes and charcoal to the end of the chaise. Solas did not look up from where he sat at her desk. "Keeping mum. Not touching you around the others. Letting you call me Inquisitor instead of your heart. We're alone anyway, so what's the problem?"
Solas turned a page. The furrow between his brows had not lessened, but there was a little twitch at the corner of his mouth that possibly hid a smile. "At first I understood your statement to be about the nature of our connection, not how we appear to the others. I realise now I was mistaken."
"About a few things, I'd say. But don't mind me. Keep avoiding the question, I dare you."
Finally, Solas lowered his book to the desktop and scrubbed a hand across his eyes. He then leaned his cheek in his palm and regarded her with an expression she couldn't quite read.
"You are a Dalish elf in an Andrastian organisation, subject to extreme scrutiny and criticism," he began, as if explaining something simple to a child. "I am an apostate, one with whom you have had little more than an antagonistic relationship since the moment we met. How do you believe the Inquisition will react to us being open about our desire for one another?"
Virelan could feel the petulant scowl spreading across her face, but did nothing to prevent it. He deserved to see her irritation. "Oh no," she drawled, "not desire. How dare we?"
"Simply be prepared for... confusion, perhaps. And other consequences."
She rolled her eyes — her false one, still unfamiliar and new, did not move easily in its socket. "They'll live. And so will we."
He rose — her eye flicked back towards him to watch as he approached her on bare feet. He put out a hand to carefully cup her cheek, then tip up her chin with the very tips of his fingers so he could look down upon her face. She only gazed back for a moment. She had to close her eyes, and leaned into his touch to show her thanks for this brief intimacy.
"I just don't want to make you uncomfortable, I guess," she finally grumbled, eyes still closed. "You know, if you'd rather it not be known that you're cavorting about with me."
Solas made an undignified sort of chortling noise at that. His other hand joined the first in cupping her face. "I would like nothing more. I only keep your image in mind, should you care to safeguard it. If not, I would gladly love you out loud."
Virelan's eyes blinked open, slowly. One of her slow, fond smiles began spreading over her face, lifting his palms on the apples of her cheeks with the intensity of it.
"Love me out loud, hmm?" she whispered, as if to herself. She shifted just far enough to kiss the tip of his thumb. "Imagine that."
Find THE WORD
Tagged by the fantastic @wiredhouse!
The words given were: Fire, metal, rose, and soul.
Since A Plague of Shadows is still so short, I instead dug into my various works for my horror series The Apostates! These all come from a work I haven't titled yet, but it's functionally a novella I love that has just stalled for awhile.
I'm sorry some of the pulled quotes are so big, but I like giving them with the full context and gravity. I actually cut some of this down LOL
Fire
“I often wonder, Doctor, if the powers that be simply do not view us with the same distant affection or disgust or disinterest as we view the worm. They see us writhing past them on the ground, in a struggle of our own naive creation, and they step on us or walk by and leave us to dry out in the sun.” “Or pick you up,” Adan half-whispered, and Alek smiled a small and wholly comprehending grin. “Or pick you up, and it is pain like you can never imagine as you move through space in new and incomprehensible ways, beholden to cosmic awe, before you are simply…” He gestured a dropping motion with his hand. “Pop. Back in the dirt, hoping you can one day perhaps understand what happened. Hoping that the pain for you was worth it. Hoping that the attention of the force that brought you to salvation through fire meant something, but ultimately ever so incapable of fully comprehending its whims.” “So you’re saying in the grand scheme of the universe, we’re worms?” “Oh no, Doctor,” Aleksander continued. “We are ever so much worse."
Metal
The soft sounds of Callie chewing on something in the living room interrupted his reverie. It sounded metallic. Adan set his coffee down quickly enough to spill it on himself, wiping his hand on his undershirt furiously as he rushed to prevent his chocolate lab from another very expensive vet visit. “Drop it! Callie, sweet girl, drop iiiitttt,” he pleaded, trying to gently prise the dog’s mouth open. A metallic clink pinged off the hardwood, and he sighed in relief.
Rose
A Japanese robotics professor by the name of Masahiro Mori coined the term the Uncanny Valley in 1970. Though the concept was originally used to describe humanity’s discomfort with human likenesses used in robotics, it soon began to spread in use. Something about the image of a not quite human face caused an innate discomfort in the hindbrain of mankind. Some theorized that the discomfort rose from some internal undermining of human identity. Others imagined it had to do with a fear of death in the face of the non-living. Adan had generally found himself believing the “pathogen theory” of the Uncanny; the idea simply being that those small differences from humanity signaled something wrong, something unhealthy, some sort of interloper who would break the health of society or the social contract by poisoning it with disease.
Soul
Examining the table, his eyes fell onto an apple, a symbol of disobedience to God and access to forbidden knowledge in so much of the West. At the same time, it was something familiar, something safe. Something seen in different cultivars across U.S. grocery stores, created more as marketing experiments than scientific achievements. This one was a Golden Delicious. Occult wisdom tempted humanity once more to sell a soul, he thought wryly. He took the apple and raised it to his mouth. It gave way all too easily, and he expected to taste the moldering, mealy taste of an apple far past overripe. He didn’t. It was bright and unbearably acidic, pinching at his mouth like sour salt. When he looked down in his hand, the inside of the apple had the look of a typical one at first glance, but the more he stared at it, the more the trails of bitemarks broke off and spiralized into strange fractals, drawing him further into the flesh of the fruit until he couldn’t bear it anymore. As he felt himself slipping slowly into the madness of this chaos apple, it disintegrated in his hand before his mind went with it.
I put Adan through so much. Including listening to Aleksander ramble.
Anyway.
I shall now tag new hands to touch the beacon: @helperduck, @ryns-ramblings, @pixiedustandpetrichor, @winterandwords, @alnaperera
THE NEW WORDS ARE DARKNESS, LIGHT, MOON, AND WIND.
As usual if you do not want to or have time to do this, you are under no obligation! Also if I didn't tag you, then feel free to use this anyway and tag me in it.
i’m having all sorts of feelings about Marian and her extremely complicated relationships with her family.
I recently found out about this dialogue:
Anders: What was your father like? Hawke:(aggressive/direct personality) Strict. High expectations. And if you didn't meet them, you'd hear about it.
Malcolm feared his kids being taken away and suffering the same abuses he did, so maybe he went overboard in making sure they were prepared to face the world as apostates. He was especially tough on Marian, the eldest, drilling it into her head that the family needs to be protected, so sacrifices must be made.
She couldn’t grow close to other kids for fear of them discovering her magic. She was forbidden from leaving the house on her own until she was almost a full adult. And when the twins came along, suddenly she was the role model, she had to be a good example to them -- but mostly to Bethany.
Perhaps Bethany took to Malcolm’s teachings better than Marian ever did. Now Bethany is the “good one”, the “example to aspire to”. She’s sweet and polite and charming, the apple of their parents’ eyes. Everything Marian isn’t. And Maker help her, she knows it isn’t Bethany’s fault, but she can’t help but resent her anyway. (She still struggles with these thoughts even after Bethany’s death. She doesn’t have anyone to talk to about it for the longest time, at least until she meets Sebastian.)
So she starts to rebel, sneaking out just to get away from how suffocating home was. In doing so, Carver (who was already feeling neglected, being the only non-mage child and thus having limited interaction with his father) felt like she was leaving him behind, so that’s another relationship fractured. She’s closest to Carver, really, but that’s not saying much. It’s not until after he goes with the Wardens and they both mature and grow independently from each other that they can come together again and fix the relationship.
Malcolm passes away. I don’t think we’re ever told how, so I imagine he gets sick, and it’s a slow, painful thing. Maybe on his deathbed, he makes amends with his eldest -- or at least tells her that for however harsh she thought he was, it was only to protect her. He’s proud of the woman she’s become. His last words to Marian are a reminder to protect the family -- “They’re in your hands, now, pup.” And that’s a helluva thing to put on a kid right before you die, no matter how old they are.
Then there’s Leandra. To be honest, pre-Blight, I think Marian had a mostly normal relationship with her mother, with the only grievance she had being that she felt like Bethany was the favored child. But then Bethany dies as they flee Lothering. And Leandra blames Marian, why didn’t you protect your baby sister, that’s your one job. Carver gets sick in the Deep Roads and has to be taken to the Wardens, never to return home, and she blames Marian, you should have left him here, how could you take him into such a dangerous place.
Nevermind that Marian’s the sole breadwinner of the family, that everything she’s done since arriving in Kirkwall was for the family’s sake. For all the good she does, in Leandra’s eyes, every failing is a thousand times worse. Maybe Leandra mellows out as the years go on, maybe she even apologizes, but the damage is done and Marian’s not sure if they can salvage that relationship... And then she dies, and suddenly she’ll never know.
#marian regina hawke#i go to work in two hours but i'm feeling angsty#don't worry guys she gets the dragon age equivalent of therapy later on so she eventually works through all this#i was debating if she'd still name her son malcolm after thinking about this#i think she loves her dad but maybe not enough to name her kid after him........ i might need to rename my sebhawke kids#or at least the boy
Ele alcançou esse sucesso incrível. Mas como ele fez isso? Principais destaques: Conheça a jornada de Warren Buffett, do investidor iniciante ao bilionário visionário Entenda a filosofia de investimento de Buffett e sua estratégia de identificar empresas subvalorizadas Descubra como a Berkshire Hathaway se tornou um império empresarial diversificado Explore o papel da BlackRock, o maior gestor de recursos do mundo, na crise financeira de 2008 Saiba como Buffett e a BlackRock estão se posicionando no mercado de criptoativos e ESG A ascensão de Warren Buffett: do investidor iniciante ao bilionário visionário Buffett começou a investir muito cedo, aos 11 anos, com ações da Cities Service Preferred. Ele se tornou famoso como "mago" e "oráculo" do mercado financeiro. Isso se deve à sua habilidade de encontrar boas oportunidades e investir em empresas que crescem. Primeiros passos no mundo dos investimentos Aos 11 anos, Buffett já mostrava um talento incrível para investir. Sua primeira compra de ações foi muito lucrativa. #DailyDevotion Trust In The LORD's Promises & You'll Stand Firm
#DailyDevotion Trust In The LORD's Promises & You'll Stand Firm Psalm 125 Those who trust the LORD are like Mount Zion, never shaken but standing forever. 2Like the mountains around Jerusalem the LORD is around His people now and forever. 3The scepter of the wicked will not rest on the land allotted to the righteous, and the righteous will not need to stretch out their hands to do wrong. 4Do good, O LORD, to those who are good, whose hearts are right. 5But when people turn to crooked ways, the LORD will take them away with the criminals. Peace be on Israel! A mountain is usually a fairly stable object. Its roots go deep down into the mantle of the earth. Those who trust in the LORD are like that; they are not shaken. Jesus tells us in Matt. 7, 24“Anyone who hears and does what I say is like a man who had the sense to build his house on a rock. 25The rain poured down, the torrents came, the winds blew, and they beat against that house. But it didn't go down, because its foundation was on the rock." There is so much the world throws at us. Life is a constant struggle. We have this promise from Jesus in Matt. 5, 31"Don't worry, then, and say, 'What are we going to eat?' or, 'What are we going to drink? or, 'What are we going to wear?' 32The people of the world run after all these things. Your Father in heaven knows you need them all. 33Seek first God's kingdom and righteousness, and all these things will be given to you, too." The LORD surrounded Jerusalem and protected it as long as His people were faithful to Him. When they became apostate, He allowed their enemies to attack to punish them to bring them to repentance. Yet, they were nevertheless, still the apple of His eye. We have a several solid promises from the LORD in Romans 8 that we can always take to heart, 28"We know that God works all things out for good for those who love God, who are called according to His plan," and "31What does this mean? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32He didn't spare His own Son but gave Him up for all of us -- He will certainly with Him give us everything. 33Who will accuse those whom God has chosen? It is God Who declares us righteous. 34Who will condemn? Christ died, more than that, He rose, He is at the right hand of God, and He prays for us. 35Who will separate us from God's love? Will sorrow, hardship or persecution, hunger or nakedness, danger or a sword?" and "38I'm convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor rulers, nothing now nor in the future, no powers, 39nothing above or below, nor any other creature can ever separate us from the love God has for us in Christ Jesus our Lord." We look forward to the day when the scepter of the wicked no longer rules over us. We should not reach out for it when the world opposes us. We have the LORD as our trust. We have been promised a New Heavens and a New Earth where righteousness dwells. The wicked have no part of that nor can they come upon its highways. (Rev. 21) Trusting in the eternal rewards promised to those who are faithful, we need not do wrong to preserve temporary things that are passing aways. Who are those who are good, to whom the psalmist petitions the LORD to do good to, their hearts are upright. They are upright because of their faith in the LORD. Their faith is credited to them as righteousness. From the Romans passage above we know the LORD will work all things for good for those who have been called by Him. We can trust our calling as the LORD has called us through baptism and placed His name on us. As for the wicked, the LORD will take them away with all the criminals, i.e. the devil, the beasts, the fallen angels, and cast them all into the Lake of Fire. (Rev. 20) Israel here is those who put their faith in Jesus Christ. They have the peace beyond all comprehension. (Phil. 4:7) Merciful God and Father, give us faith in You so we may live in peace, trusting in Your promises and living our lives following the teachings of Your Son, Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray. Amen. Read the full article
Starter Pack, parte um
Em priemiro lugar é preciso contextualizar; o nada mais é que uma indústria de produção em massa, uma tão complexa quanto os produtos finais. A começar pelo o que se vê: o idol é uma entidade, uma pessoa com presença quase que virtual treinada para, no mínimo, não desagradar. É a embalagem da música. E o que torna assim? Todo resto além do sonoro: promoções, coreografias, clipes e marketing. Em retorno a música cria uma identidade do idol que agora se torna produto e a discografia sua embalagem. Primeiro a música hita e depois o idol mantém o hype para as próximas e, a partir daí, tanto faz.
Jovens que se dedicam a essa carreira começam o mais cedo que seus pais permitem e aguentam os mais diversos abusos, físicos e emocionais, para terminarem com uma chance mínima de se fazer acontecer em condições completamente fora do seu próprio controle. E quando, frequentemente, a carreira acaba antes de começar? Muitos terminam tendo de apostar em outras carreiras do início, com uma escolarização incompleta ou insatisfatória.
Os idols são uma estranha mistura de classe trabalhadora com glamour, cujo trabalho depende da aaprência, carisma e fama, tudo isso dentro da mais complexa máquina musical moderna. É a indústria que define o gênero musical e não a arte
Por que escutar se não, moralidades e princípios a parte, por gosto subjetivo?
Avaliar esse porque resultaria numa ou mais teses a serem escritas pelos mais qualificados. Logo, sem mais delongas doze músicas que eu gosto muito, escolhidas pelo conjunto com o clipe e qualidade musical inquestionável, obviamente, porque fui eu que escolhi.
youtube
1. Eunoia - Billlie
Com um nome quase estúpido desses, o Billlie é um dos grupos com a identidade músical mais próxima do experimental dentro da indústria, uma que, felizmente, trouxe bons resultados. Com um debut estranhíssimo a brincadeiras com melodias infantis, o grupo conta com uma membro que viralizou pela capacidade de fazer várias caretas bonitas, uma ex-participante de survival show (elogiada pela própria Sunmi, presente nessa lista) e outra que foi comida viva numa batalha de rap em rede nacional.
Outras recomendações: flippin a coin e ring ma bell
youtube
2. OMG - New Jeans
Ah, New Jeans. A nova sensação musical made in korea. Com um debut inesperado, este grupo repagina inúmeros sub gêneros da música pop impulsionados pelos artistas indies do spotify. O que permanece o mesmo: o conceito fofo. Conta com membros que não faço ideia de quem são porque não pago internet pra decorar nome de pirralha.
Outras recomendações: toda a discografia.
youtube
3. ETA - New Jeans
A mesma coisa da decrição de cima. É uma propaganda de iPhone encomendada pela própia Apple com elementos do funk carioca. Aliás, na colab com o mac lanche feliz da Coreia faltou muito o brinquedinho Meninas Super Poderosas de cada uma.
Outras recomendações: Tri.be doom doom ta
youtube
4. You can't sit with us - Sunmi
Solista old school, ex integrante do icônico Wonder Girls, Sunmi já apostou em muitos trabalhos diferentes com o primeiro carisma "songa-monga" proposital e efetivo do k-pop. Se Meninas Malvadas fosse uma música, seria You can't sit with us.
Outras recomendações: pporappippam, Tail e Heart Burn
youtube
5. Queencard - G-idle
Também conhcido como Soyeon e cia. porque a bicha escreve e produz a maioria das músicas, ainda mais agora que tudo que saí da cabeça dela hita instantaneamente (com razão). Soyeon consegue bater de frente com uma das empresas com a pior gerência de artistas quando se trata de empatia.
Outras recomendações: Lion e Señorita
youtube
6. Sweet Crazy Love - Odd Eye Circle
Grupo pioneiro em gastar dinheiro debutando 12 integrantes separadamente, depois em sub-units e finalmente em grupo, só para falecer depois e me deixar viúva, Odd Eye Circle é o que o Loona tinha de melhor. Composto pelas iconicas Kim Lip, Choery e Jin Soul, OED lançou essa obra prima depois de três ótimos solos e outra title track, Girl Front.
Outras recomendações: Yves - New e Kim Lip - Eclipse
Semana termina em meio a incertezas sobre futuro do dólar e Ibovespa
*Luiz Felipe Bazzo Ibovespa O Ibovespa encerra hoje uma semana de tirar o fôlego dos investidores, a polêmica “Super Semana”. Os balanços das big techs puxaram a queda, após Apple, Amazon e Alphabet (a dona do Google) também sofrerem no after hours em Nova York. Nessa sexta-feira (3) foram divulgados dados sobre o emprego nos Estados Unidos. O payroll contrariou as expectativas e apostou em…
Hi! I hope it isn't rude to ask for a small treat? Could you give us Amell's reaction to receiving the news of the Chantry boom, please? As a chapter of "Apples and Apostates", perhaps? I'm sorry if I'm out of line.
"Feel about it however you'd like to feel about it." Slicing off another portion of the apple, he leaned his head back so he could look up at the sky, his eyes finding a few of the constellations while he contemplated on what to say next. "You say not to worry, and I should say I don't, but that wouldn't be the truth." He crossed his legs under him before sitting back upright so he could stare back at the fire.
"I didn't used to care about anyone but myself. But when I saved Eva from the gallows...from becoming Tranquil, something changed. I dunno." He nibbled on the apple this time, his nose scrunching at the thought of it. "I worry about everyone now. Even though I shouldn't. It probably all changed when the apostates scrambled my brain." He used his knife to make a circular motion, essentially saying he had gone mad. "You may be capable, but even the most capable of warriors can die. Just sayin', is all."
“It wasn’t an offer.” She muttered, rolling her eyes, he had quite the way of getting under her skin but she tried not to let on how much he was irritating her. “Oh great, so of everyone here, you’re the only other one that has the same views as I do? I’m not sure how to feel about that” she huffed, drawing one leg to her chest and resting her chin on her knee.
Claudia’s eyes flicked to him briefly, trying to figure out why he was bothering to tell her all this before huffing and leaning back, propping herself up on her elbows “Taran and I are fine. I’ve been keeping him safe since I was a child, I could handle that I can handle this. Don’t worry about it.”
The Last Court Lore
Hey folks, I decided to waste my time reading through every single card from the now dead game, The Last Court, and record any interesting bits of lore I found.
A huge thanks to the Dragon Age: The Last Court community archival project, for making this possible.
Serault
Rulership is known as the House of Glass.
Serault's motto is “Payment in Glass.”
Serault’s emblem is a mirrored stag.
“Glass is the foundation of Serault’s wealth. Members of its glassworkers guild are privileged prisoners: valued, well-treated, and watched like jewels on velvet.” The glassworkers routinely rebel against the nobility for better working conditions.
Inhabitants are called Seraultines.
Templars are despised and distrusted by many in Serault.
The Masked Andraste Cult
Serault is home to a cult of worshippers of “The Masked Andraste”.
Worshippers gather in the woods at night wearing charred wood masks, to pray around an ancient wooden statue of a masked figure that may or may not actually be of Andraste.
The woods seem to have a supernatural response to this worshipping, by providing more bountiful harvests and hunts.
The Shame
The Shame (the PC’s mage grandfather) is hinted to have performed some kind of magical favour for the Grey Wardens.
The Shame kept his apostate daughter hidden away in a dell all her life.
Divine Justinia
Justinia killed, blackmailed and intimidated her way to becoming Divine. The Grand Clerics who disapproved of her mysteriously disappeared, were disgraced, or suspiciously became fervent supporters overnight.
The Heartwood Court
The court is headed by the Horned Knight, a creation by The Shame (the PC’s mage grandfather), lives deep in the words and is married to a dryad.
The Heartwood Court is made up of dryads and fauns. They are served by enchanted people who “move dreamily”.
The centre of the court is an abandoned tower.
Drinking water from the tower has healing properties.
The Tirashan
There is a group of elves, presumed Dalish, who all have red vallaslin living in the Tirashan. They attacked nearby villagers for getting too far into the woods. The humans draw the conclusion that the victims were blood sacrifices, though this is unproven.
The Applewoods
The woods near the region of the Tirashan Forest are called the Applewoods, for they are full of apple trees.
The apples from these woods have astringent, intoxicating properties.
The woods are “crawling with dryads”.
The Veil is thin in the woods.
Outlaws
Outlaw groups meet in a place called the Greenvault; a clearing among ash trees.
Named groups include: the Corpse-Dancers, the Dead Rose, the Black Knot, the Blasted Oak, and the Shuttered Lamp
The river running through Serault’s territory is game for pirates.
Miscellaneous
The Wandering College is a faction of scholars “prone to radicalism”. They visit holds and towns and preach revolutions by sharing their philosophies.
For the Random OTP Asks: 4, 16, 38, and 43
Ah, thanks so much anon! Answers for Fenris and Julian Hawke.
4. Who acts tough but actually is really submissive?
If there is one of them, it's Fenris. He definitely plays very confident and self-assured when he really isn't. He's fundamentally very eager-to-please Hawke and when he finally has an opportunity to be in control of the sexual aspect of their relationship, he finds he's not really all that into being in charge. The both like mutality, a bit of give and take and reciprocity. But ultimately Fenris prefers a more submissive role. He finds he likes when they get comfortable enough for Hawke to be a bit rough with him. There's a point where he feels like he can let go of some of the shame and start to enjoy his own sexuality, but it takes time and experimentation to get there.
16. Who is your OTP’s unofficial/official child?
They disagre vehemently about this. For Julian it's Carver. Julian's siblings are younger than him and he will always kind of view himself as Carver's third parent. To Fenris, this is patently absurd. He's barely a year older than Carver and the two of them are actually good friends. Maybe Carver needed Hawke to parent him at one time, but no longer. For Fenris it's Merrill but he feels terrible guilt about it and would never say that out loud. Especially once he learns they were both born in the same year.
38. What kind of parents would they be? (I just answered this one, but I pasted it below)
Indulgent ones. Julian was an excellent big brother and has all the necessary skills to make a child eat their peas and say please and thank you. But he's not all that inclined to actually do that. He loves being a fun dad. Loves to spoil his kids and give them all the things he felt he missed out on as a child of an apostate. For Fenris' part, fatherhood ends up fulfilling a desire he never really identified in himself. He adores being a parent and a spouse and having a home and a family which is his. He's also prone to spoiling just a little. Julian thinks Fenris is SUCH a hard-ass, but it's Fenris who is most likely to "forget" that there's a punishment going on or to slip a bit of candy into a kid's hand when no one's looking. They both hate seeing siblings fight, but Fenris is the one whose heart really breaks when he sees it and Hawke's the one who usually has to break up arguments. Julian remembers fighting with Carver all the time and he remembers Carver and Bethany fighting with each other. He knows it's no big deal. Fenris doesn't have clear memories of fighting with his sister, and the ones he does have are genuinely upsetting.
43. How do they say ‘I love you’ without actually saying it? Ex “Have you drank any water today?”
Hawke shows affection a thousand different ways. When they're traveling, there's always apples in the packs. There's always thick socks, sturdy boots and warm coats in Fenris' size, even if he infrequently wears them. He lets Fenris press cold hands and feet against his skin even though he hates it. He also has no trouble saying "I love you," "I adore you," "You make me so happy."
Fenris says "I love you" with a cup of tea left at Hawke’s elbow while he answers letters. By bringing Hawke's breakfast up to bed most mornings. By running with Hawke's dog before Julian wakes. He'll get up in the middle of his reading to go find Hawke, to finish his book tucked against Hawke's side or in his lap. He doesn't say "I love you" as easily. In the middle of the night when he's certain Julian is asleep, pressing Hawke's hand to his sternum, he'll whisper "Yours." Eventually he's brave enough to say something more.
