Apple with ornament (2024) acrylic painting
---
Tried to edit this photo as close to how it looks irl as I could, but I still think it looks better irl haha which I suppose is a good thing in itself anyways
It's been quite a while since I did painting! I quite enjoyed it actually, got the chance to use these square brushes I was given a long time ago but never used. That silver gift bow on the right was actually very fun and satisfying to paint with square brush haha I'm surprised at how well it turned out. And it was actually a good way to study lighting on shiny objects I think i have a little better understanding of how to do that now :>
I might give apple a lil brighter of an eyeshine later but I kinda like just the blue im still undecided
Based off this photo of my cat :') its a fuzzy felt ornament he's grabbin
isn't he so sweet...
and here's some process photos:
+bonus of what apple was up to while i was painting

sometimes you just gotta.
#shitpost#photoshop#fun fact I made this myself#the actual stock image was just someone holding an ornament. I edited on the bite from a pic of an apple.#because ornaments are like a fruit of some kind to me.#mostly the plain shiny-ish ones. ones where you see the light reflect off but not quite your reflection y'know?

OH HELLO MOON THAT NOW MATCHES THE ONE ON THE YUUKO PAGES
Either Clow’s moon works differently or weird time stuff is already happening because I’m SURE it’d take longer than like 2-3 days for the phase of the moon to shift from a crescent to a gibbous moon. It’d be like a little under two weeks, unless I’m completely wrong.
Please correct me if I’m wrong I was not good at science.
OH NO.
OH NO CHAPTER ONE COMES BACK IN SWINGING.
MYSTERIOUS HYPNOTISING BELL: PART TWO
And there she goes!
I love it.
Last time this happened was ALSO the night before they went to the ruins and Evil Wolverine invaded. Of course in that timeline things had (presumably?) been altered so the details were all off, but the Bell of Foreshadowing is striking in the same place all the same.
In chapter one it was accompanied by Sakura having visions of the future - do you think she gets the same here?
I guess we’ll find out - immediately!
Open the next chapter quick I have to see.
#I didn’t even get to see the apple par-yu!#Quick turn the page turn the page#Liveblogging the reservoir chronicle#Tsubasa#Vol 193#Lava Lamp Guy#Sakura#Which Sakura?#A Sakura!#And Ominous Gong Time#Also back on that first page#When they’re going up the stairs?#I can’t see exactly what the ornamentation on the side is supposed to be#But the white and black lines in concentric circles are so neat!#Bringing back the black and white borders#Worn by Fujitaka and Nadeshiko#But also the parallel curving lines are like alternate timelines#Where the little dots are close but NOT QUITE the same#Maybe that's a stretch#BUT LET'S STRETCH IT!!#... ALSO WAIT#THEY HAVE THE LITTLE FIRE LAMP!!!#LITTLE FIRE LAMP SPOTTED!!#LITTLE FIRE LAMP REAL!!!!

I’ve finally moved into my new home and so far I love it! My housemates are all really friendly, I’ve got my own fridge and I’ve almost finished unpacking all my stuff.
I couldn’t move some of the boxes when I moved in yesterday but luckily that should be sorted out over the weekend. Really the only things I couldn’t manage to unbox were my books, DVDs and a few miscellaneous art supplies. But I’m planning on ordering a bookcase next week so that should make things a little easier.
What I’m most excited about, though, is being able to start decorating. Going to put up posters, tapestries, fairy lights, the whole works. Thinking of turning my desk into a little shrine area too. But first things first, I have to make sure all of my things are in one place. Shouldn’t take too long to arrange that and I’m getting paid next week.
Hopefully the fridge should be up and running by then (it’s only just been delivered and someone’s coming over to properly install it) so I can stock up on groceries. If I eat one more bowl of ramen, I shall look like one.
But yeah on the whole things are going really well and I’m immensely thankful for how things have been improving recently. Only thing that can top this is if I meet my irl soulmate in the near future. (Keeping my fingers crossed in that regard) 💖
#arwen speaks#life update#moving house#new home#good news#excited for this#can’t wait to adorn my walls in posters#my shelves in ornaments#and my bedstead with fairy lights#thinking of replacing my old iPad as well#bc apple sucks#and I barely use it#probs gonna get an honor pad or something#something for art mostly#but I digress#things are looking up#and I’m hugely relieved at that

Experiencing a Traditional Smoky Mountain Christmas
As the chill of December blankets the Smoky Mountains, the region transforms into a winter wonderland, making it the perfect backdrop for a traditional Christmas celebration. The combination of breathtaking scenery, rustic charm, and age-old customs creates a festive ambiance that feels like stepping into a postcard.
The Smokies, with their tall pines dusted with snow and sprawling vistas, offer a stunning setting for the holidays. Families gather around cozy cabins, their fireplaces crackling with warmth, and twinkling lights adorn the trees outside. The scent of pine mingles with the aroma of cinnamon and nutmeg, bringing holiday cheer to every corner.
Festive Traditions
One of the highlights of a Smoky Mountain Christmas is the embrace of tradition. Many families partake in the age-old custom of cutting down their own Christmas tree. A trip to a local Christmas tree farm is an adventure filled with laughter, hot cocoa, and the joy of finding the perfect pine. Once brought home, the tree is lovingly decorated with handmade ornaments, reflecting the family’s history and bonds.
In the evenings, caroling among the snow-covered roads or gathering around the piano for a sing-along brings communities together, strengthening the ties that bind. The rich Appalachian heritage is evident in the folk songs that echo through the crisp air, fostering connections and creating memories.
Culinary Delights
No Christmas celebration is complete without a feast. In the Smoky Mountains, traditional dishes take center stage at holiday tables. Families often prepare hearty meals featuring ham, cornbread, and green beans, along with sweet treats like pecan pie and apple cider, drawing inspiration from both Southern and Appalachian cuisines. Sharing these festive meals brings a warmth that only the sharing of food can accomplish.
Outdoor Adventures
For those eager to embrace the winter weather, the Smoky Mountains offer a plethora of outdoor activities. From sleigh rides through serene snow-draped landscapes to hiking trails glistening with frost, adventure awaits. Many families enjoy sledding down hills, building snowmen, or simply warming up around a fire with marshmallows roasting under the starlit sky.
Conclusion
A traditional Smoky Mountain Christmas is more than just a season; it’s a heartfelt celebration of family, community, and nature’s beauty. Whether through the warmth of candlelight, the joy of shared traditions, or the breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains, this festive time of year creates lasting memories that residents and visitors cherish alike. So, if you’re seeking a holiday escape filled with warmth and wonder, the Smoky Mountains are the perfect destination to experience the magic of Christmas.
