Navigating Justice: A Tale of Parole and Compassion
Ramesh v. State of NCT Delhi
WP (Crl)1322/2024
Before the Delhi High Court
Heard by Hon’ble Madam Justice Swarna Kanta Sharma J
Order
The writ petition was dismissed as #premature. The petitioner should have waited for the outcome of his application for #parole filed by him before Jail Authorities. Jail Authorities were directed to treat the present writ petition as a representation of the petitioner & decide the same as per the Prison Rules.
The authorities were requested to expedite the process of consideration looking into the medical and financial condition of his elder brother and passing an order on the petitioner’s application for parole.
Background
1. The petitioner is a #convict for offence u/s 302/34 of IPC and Section 27 of the Arms Act.
2. The petitioner was sentenced to #lifeimprisonment, by the Trial Court.
3. His #appeal against the conviction was #dismissed by the Delhi High Court on 25.05.2009.
4. In the present Writ Petition, the petitioner is seeking parole on the ground that his elder brother is suffering from Tuberculosis of the Spine and lower Urinary Tract. As a younger brother, he needs to look after his medical and financial needs.
Observation of the Court
1. The petitioner has already submitted an application seeking parole before the Jail Authorities & without waiting for the outcome of his application and the stipulated period for deciding such applications as per #DelhiPrisonRules, the present petition was filed just 4-5 days after the filing of the petition.
2. The practice of filing writ petitions for a grant of parole or #furlough within a few days of applying to the jail/competent authorities, has to be condemned.
3. Such practice only adds to the #burden of the #Courts, as to pass an order, the Courts have to go through the order of rejection of furlough or parole to ascertain the reasons for such refusal.
4. Moreover, at times, such writ petitions are filed before Courts without waiting for the outcome, and in the meanwhile, the authorities concerned decide the applications in the favor of such petitioners, which makes the entire process of filing writ petitions, a futile exercise.

love how we all went into redemption either wary of or expecting to hate harry but within two episodes we all collectively went, oh, he’s just some lil weird guy and we adopted him just like the leverage crew did
#the writers definitely knew what they were doing writing him#I think it’s definitely interesting and a feat to good writing because we were technically losing two series regulars and they had the task#of both finding new characters while also making sure they wouldn’t just erase or dismiss the old characters#they had to come up with something completely different and have it appealing enough to satisfy us as we are missing two of our original#beloved characters (nate and hardison)#and they came up with harry lmao#he’s such blorbo shaped#skinny little dude that is a former evil lawyer bad dad forgot he was bisexual until he saw eliot fighting#skrunkly lil gamer guy pathetic man silly little disguises way too enthusiastic just happy to be there#honestly me too bitch#jackie talks#mine#leverage#leverage redemption#meta#harry wilson#harry wilson meta#leverage redemption meta#leverage meta#character appreciation

does anyone want to join me on the aventurine/argenti train. it's got all the perks of being as funny as any other argenti ship - especially given the random absurdity of their first meeting. what the hell was argenti doing in the depths of the nihility? who even knows anymore man. but like also i think it has the potential to be really sweet?
aventurine hasn't let anyone In since his sister died. he's long since forgotten how to Trust, and Love, and how to BE Loved. and this, combined with enormous amounts of survivor's guilt and trauma and being treated as an object, has really done a number on his self-esteem. he doesn't act like it (because he's learned that it's dangerous to be vulnerable; it's the one gamble he's not willing to take), but 2.1 gave us that glimpse into his inner dialogue and it is Bad in there
between his conversation with acheron, the note veritas left for him, and finding a sense of closure in the apparition of his younger self, he's on track to becoming better. we can see it in the way he pretty much immediately reaches out to the trailblazer to get some things off his chest once he gets his phone working again. and the way he's accepting what is basically a form of therapy from the doctors of chaos. but his self-hatred has been building up for years, and it's going to take a long time to unpack and unlearn all of that
so like, in comes argenti, right? he's a loud show-off, but he is SO earnest. he sees the beauty in everything and everyone. he's kind, and gentle, and so full of love. he also comes off as a bit... lonely to me? he's spent so much of his life chasing after idrila's shadow, and only catching a glimpse of them in his many near-death experiences (and isn't that something to think about...........). he's not like, secretly miserable or faking or anything - i think his exuberance is 1000% genuine. but humans are social creatures; everyone wants and requires at least some form of closeness and intimacy. to have a love to pursue in This realm... someone he can see and hold without needing to have one foot in an early grave . i think that would be good for him. that's all
anyway, it's clear that argenti was pretty enchanted by aventurine
like yeah that's kind of just how he talks normally but !?@,%&#& that's a lot of awfully romantic things to say about one specific person out of the several you apparently rescued (??????? god i love this guy he makes no sense. literally why are you even here bud). it seems that aventurine's more subdued state left an impression on him too, and well wouldn't it be pretty in character for him to start popping in randomly... as he does, because he can apparently just go wherever the fuck he wants. to check on this sad yet oh so beautiful peacock.. to try to bring a true smile to his face... to show him how kind and beautiful the universe can be......
i think aventurine might have a hard time laughing off offers of comfort and company and the beginnings of a courtship if it comes from someone like argenti. this man couldn't be disingenuous if he tried. he doesn't wear his heart on his sleeve as much as he rips it out of his chest to show you. it'll be a learning curve regardless - aventurine is too used to needing to constantly prove his worth to keep anyone around and to keep them from hurting him
but do you see it. do you see the vision. do you see how Sweet this could be. aventurine is about to receive more roses than he'll know what to do with
#i spent enough time on this that i think i can...#honkai star rail#argenti#aventurine#aventi... argenturinenope i hate this one actually#avegenti. dude i don't know don't ask me i'm just the messenger#like can i just say that what most ratiorine shippers are trying to squeeze out of that would be better found Here.#i don't mind the ship as much as i used to. veritas is kinder than i gave him credit for. i can even enjoy it if done right#but like#? veritas may be kinder than i originally thought but he's not that kind.#he's harsh truths and tough love. he started to soften after aventurine's unexpected death sentence and he has the potential to soften more#but guys i don't think a ratiorine relationship that takes place so soon after the events of penacony or god forbid BEFORE-#is going to go that smoothly#veritas has his head pretty deep in his own ass. it's going to take him a bit to get that out#he's more likely to hurt aventurine and send him right back into his defensive shell than he is to actually help him along his recovery#and/or aventurine is likely to dismiss any of his attempts to be more forthcoming with his feelings because of his perceived dislike for hi#and just how their working relationship always was Before#if you want to talk about that and the messy struggle to be better for each other after they stomp all over the other's heart#i'm all ears man.#but if you want something that's softer from start to finish and not so stressful... listen to me. argenti and aventurine is where that's a#i think both options are appealing tbh? in their own ways

“Studies of Elizabeth Woodville […] have been hampered by the continuing fascination with her brother-in-law, Richard III. The Ricardian [and Yorkist] apologetic is now largely dependent upon the argument that the Woodville family posed such a threat to Richard of Gloucester, and the kingdom as a whole, that Gloucester had little option but to take the throne from his Woodville-dominated nephew. Although this argument has [irregularly] been contested, a reassessment of the queen's role in 1483 has not yet been attempted. Michael Bennett, in his 1987 account [...] still dismissed her as `an inveterate intriguer, capable in her vanity and fecklessness of some remarkable shifts and turns'. But more often she is scarcely mentioned in general histories of the period.”
-J.L. Laynesmith, “English Queenship 1445-1503” (thesis for the degree of DPhil in Medieval Studies, University of York, Centre for Medieval Studies, April 1999)
#Every single thing in this remains as true in 2024 as it did when she published it in 1999 btw#historicwomendaily#elizabeth woodville#wars of the roses#my post#Ironically Laynesmith herself is guilty of the same thing: her 'reassessments' of Elizabeth's role are really bad and always favor Richard#(so I don't know how she can call them 'reassessments')#also Laynesmith seems to think that the anti-Woodville argument has been 'repeatedly contested'#I would love to see those arguments because frankly from what I've seen (and I've searched A LOT) they are entirely non-existent#even historians like Rosemary Horrox who analyze Richard III critically retain a very negative and equally condemning view of the Woodville#throughout it all - so I am not sure that counts lol#That being said I'm really glad that Laynesmith pointed out how Elizabeth “is scarcely mentioned in general histories of the period”#because it's absolutely true#Like I said before - even in traditionally negative narratives there is very lacking interest in Elizabeth as a historical figure#She's only relevant for marrying Edward and Promoting Her Family and scheming against Richard#Most historians barely pay attention to her beyond that#The thing about Elizabeth is that she really has the worst of both worlds - she's vilified and diminished in equal measure#This has a lot to do with her brand of vilification; the persistent need to reaffirm Richard of Gloucester's appeal and authority;#and the very specific anomalous place she occupies in this period of time (between the three dynasties)#In the so-called 'era of queenship studies' where other controversial queens like Eleanor of Aquitaine Isabella of France and#MoA were receiving a great deal of attention and reassessments - Elizabeth remained equally vilified but was also#ultimately still dismissed as someone who 'grounded her queenship in her carnality' (with Edward IV) :/#So when recent 'revisionist' reassessments have depowered her still further...not only are they singularly unhelpful and inaccurate#they are also actively contributing to a major element of her negative historiography that has literally been present across centuries#hence why they annoy me so much#(This is also why Elizabeth is often written as a hysteric with haphazard and incoherent motivations in historical novels btw#It's a direct result of the vilification + diminishment combination that's been so persistent with her)

Spinner my love you are so important to the LOV and you matter so much to the story and you are such a complex and wonderful character and you are so special and influential you don't deserve to be solely characterized as a third wheel in every shigadabi fanfic I read.
#the appeal of shigadabi is that they are in parallel lines getting doomed and rescued by other people#they bond over their similar experiences and find relief in not having to explain their traumas with words they lack because they get it#they get each other#recognition of the self through the other#but the one in the trenches with tomura is spinner#the one who literally sold his body to AFO in exchange for a chance to be Tomura's hero was spinner#Wpinner might never know Tomura like Dabi could but Dabi could never be there for Tomura like Spinner has#they are both so important to Tomura#you cannot dismiss the importance of one to increase the importance of another#that's not how it works

since when is it Not reactionary behavior to make a big show of how hurt and insulted you are because someone accused you of doing something prejudiced. and doing the whole "epic tumblr clapback" routine on top of that. people on this site are high on their own farts
#silly storie#maybe you should do some introspection about what demographic your post is appealing to#when your dismissal of the idea you could have said something ableist starts attracting people who call that person ableist slurs?!?!!

why craig are take over world
essay by me (craig)
As much as Craig may seem like a simple doodle of a cat, his potential for world domination should not be underestimated. Despite his crude appearance, Craig embodies the essence of adaptability and resilience, traits that are essential for any aspiring ruler.
Firstly, Craig's simplicity works to his advantage. Underestimation is a powerful tool in warfare, and many would dismiss Craig as inconsequential. However, this oversight allows Craig to operate in the shadows, biding his time until the perfect moment to strike.
Secondly, Craig's lack of defined features makes him a versatile symbol. He can represent anything from innocence to cunning, depending on the narrative spun around him. This ambiguity allows Craig to appeal to a wide range of followers, from disillusioned citizens seeking change to opportunistic power-seekers.
Thirdly, Craig's handwritten signature adds a personal touch to his endeavors. In a world increasingly dominated by digital signatures and impersonal interactions, Craig's handwritten mark harkens back to a simpler time, fostering a sense of nostalgia and authenticity among his followers.
In conclusion, Craig may appear unassuming at first glance, but beneath his simplistic exterior lies the potential for world domination. Through adaptability, versatility, and a personal touch, Craig has the tools necessary to rally followers and reshape the world in his image. Beware the power of Craig, for his ascent to global dominance may be closer than we think.

hi fairyyyy!!! i wanted to ask you a question
i’m a writer here on tumblr and recently i had one of my posts flagged. tbh it was quite tame compared some of the other stuff i write (im also a dark content writer but the flagged post had none)
i was wondering if you had any posts of yours flagged and if you’d ever republished them again
Hello pumpkin! Yea ive had posts flagged before and it’s annoying but I honestly, genuinely can’t be fucked reposting pFJRJFKFKF sorry for the bluntness. I don’t check if I’m in the tags, I don’t really care— to me the people who wanna see it most are the ones who follow me and whether or not it’s flagged, they’ll see it either way (if they have mature content allowed in their settings) so to me that’s just fine
Internet clout is fake and I just wanna write for my friends and for the little gremlins who enjoy my content,,, so I personally never think about republishing (even tho getting flagged is really annoying I agree, ive had some of my tamer posts flagged too)
I think if it bothers you that it might not reach the people you want it to, it’s a valid choice (one I have nothing against btw, I get it) it’s just too much hassle for me personally. But you definitely can! But because most mature flags are done manually by people I think it could just as easily happen again on a republish so :/
#I hope this doesn’t sound dismissive bc I truly don’t mean it that way#I just mean it super honestly: I don’t have the time#so to me it doesn’t appeal to try and repost#but I do understand people who do#honey mail#yea! its a personal choice thing

I am the only person on earth who is Normal about Taylor Swift.
#no she is not gay#yes she is a skilled songwriter and denying that is being willfully obtuse and acting like you know more than her peers and predecessors#yes some of her music appeals to a demographic of gay people in a decidedly Gay way but that is almost purely accidental ie Bruce#yes she is aspirational for a huge chunk of millennial women who watched her grow from a genuinely niche teenage artist into a juggernaut#yes she is a ruthless capitalist who leverages her fans parasocial feelings to extract ever more (heh) money from them#yes she is at this point using vaguely liberal politics as an aesthetic to market herself to a politically aware audience#yes a large part of how she is treated and dismissed has misogynistic undertones at a bare minimum#no it is not utilizing girl power to fly a private jet around the world and charge loyal fans thousands of dollars for a concert#she’s a complicated figure in the way that most monolithic pop stars are and she’s simultaneously given more and less grace than others#I will probably write an essay about this someday idk comment on this post if you’d read it and also if you read these tags for some reason

#not having a great time today after my mom commented on my interests#i'm a person that is interested in shit i don't know this is why i'm very likely to follow disabled youtubers#in my time i have watched molly burke. multiplicityandme and a collection of autistic youtubers (guess why lol)#and my mom made a quite patronizing comment about how i ''take on causes'' by learning about stuff#and/or supporting fun and interesting youtube channels#but anyways it sucks even more because on her comment she made it clear (once again) that she doesn't believe me when i say#i might be autistic. and it fucking sucks!#because when i first talked to her about it even I didn't know much about it. i was just starting to do my research#and i was trying to make sense of things still but she dismissed it#but now that i do know more and things do make more sense#i can't even bring it up because the fact that i have been watching a lot of youtubers talk about autism will make her think#i'm just trying to be like them... which is stupid#but it's also the reason i didn't tell her that my best friend in my teens was trans. because i was trying to figure shit out myself#and telling her he was trans and then a bit later that i am as well was going to make her go ''everyone's trans now blah blah''#and dismiss that as well... but now i'm trapped in the same thing about autism lol#and her stupid loophole of a dismissal isn't just by saying ''no you're not autistic'' it's saying this like ''well MAAAAYBE you COULD be#but that doesn't mean anything and it doesn't matter and why would you want a diagnosis if it's not gonna change anything''#same thing as her whole ''sure you're a man but why do you have to look and act differently? YOU know who YOU are#who cares what others think?'' in a don't transition way#like that's so stupid!#dkfjhkdfhkdfg#i'm angry and i feel trapped#i have figured out a little bit ago that i don't stim near as enough as i need to BECAUSE i live in the same house as her#and the idea of ear defenders and other stuff like that is very appealing but i can't do that while she's around to judge#and IN PUBLIC?! that's unthinkable!!#i still remember the time she threatened with not going out with me (to the supermarket) because I commited the huge crime of#buttoning the top button of my button up shirt....#that's it. that was the whole reason.. she thought i looked ridiculous and she didn't want to be seen with me...#imagine if i wear ear defenders out...#not gonna risk it lol

Sainz maintains Australian GP penalty 'is too disproportionate' after Ferrari's appeal dismissed by FIA
After Ferrari's appeal over Carlos Sainz's late-race Australian Grand Prix penalty was dismissed on Tuesday, the Spanish driver took to social media to voice his disappointment – adding that he is "100% focused" on the next race in Azerbaijan. Sainz clashed with compatriot Fernando Alonso in a late restart at Albert Park, costing the Ferrari driver a five-second penalty that dropped him from P4 to P12 and out of the points. The Spaniard cut a frustrated figure in the post-race interview and Ferrari then appealed the decision. After a hearing on Tuesday morning, the FIA decided to uphold Sainz's penalty. READ MORE: Ferrari's appeal over Carlos Sainz's Australian Grand Prix penalty dismissed Following the decision, the driver then released the following statement on Twitter. It began: "Very disappointed that the FIA did not grant us a right to review. "Two weeks later, I still think the penalty is too disproportionate and I believe it should have at least been reviewed on the basis of the evidence and reasoning we have presented. We have to continue working together to improve certain things for the future. "The consistency and decision making process has been a hot topic for many seasons now and we need to be clearer for the sake of our sport. What happened in Australia is now in the past and I am 100% focused on the next race in Baku." Ferrari enter Baku, where the first Sprint of the season is set to take place ahead of the 2023 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, in fourth place with 26 points in the constructors' championship. via Formula 1 News https://www.formula1.com

I think I've done a good job at making it easy to do that#// sorry for being dramatic ? idk how to give closure on this if the time ever comes or if this Is The Closure

It's about Crowley bearing witness to Aziraphale's desire, about the way that desire is animal and visceral and enormous and terrifying*. And about how Crowley sees that and wants it. Crowley offers the ox rib and watches Aziraphale eat because eating provides them no sustenance, it's purely for pleasure, sensual, selfish. And Crowley introduces Aziraphale to this, and thousands of years later still takes obvious pleasure in feeding Aziraphale, in watching him eat. In watching Aziraphale's pleasure.
And I think it's significant the things we see Crowley put into his body in s2, and why: six shots of espresso, as something bracing before seeing what it is that made Aziraphale call him in his "something's wrong" tone; whiskey, because he has to give Aziraphale some bad news; wine, because they "might as well get comfortable" during the storm coming down on Job, after Aziraphale learns that Crowley is actually pretty unhappy with Job's suffering; and poison, to dispose of it so Elspeth (or Wee Morag, I've fogotten which is which) doesn't die. Crowley doesn't take Aziraphale's "something that calms you down", only consumes things that not only don't bring him pleasure but are an attempt to prevent pain. Crowley, who introduced Aziraphale to this important physical, sensual, selfish pleasure, denies it to himself. He denies himself the eccles cakes, he denies himself partaking in food, and he denies himself Aziraphale.
And we see throughout the rest of the season other things he's denying himself: the comfort and safety of a home in the bookshop in favor of the mobility and ready-made escape of living in the Bentley, the surety of saying what he really means during the confession. He cannot bring himself to admit what he wants, that he wants. Gabriel and Beelzebub "going off together" is not what he wants. He wants Aziraphale, but he doesn't say that, because he's never, in the years and years and years we've seen this season, let himself want or be seen wanting. "Going off together" is as close as he can get to speaking it. "A group of the two of us" is as close as he can get. So he has to watch as Aziraphale leaves and takes his pleasure in the world with him.
#it’s interesting to see how aziraphale overindulges and crowley never indulges#and how that extends to the way they treat one another#aziraphale calls and crowley answers#aziraphale requests and crowley obliges#aziraphale goes and crowley follows#crowley hardly ever even asks#and on the rare occasion that he does he’s ignored or dismissed or refused#if he doesn’t twist it in some way that appeals to aziraphale#aziraphale overeats and crowley starves himself#because in order to indulge crowley would have to allow himself to do so#and for that he would have to admit to himself that he wants to#that he craves to#that he deserves to#and well#he’s a demon#he lies#he lies about being starved and he lies that he doesn’t deserve to eat#because the message from fucking GOD was that he should starve#good omens#good omens 2#good omens meta#crowley

I’m so sick of music critics dismissing female artists who make music about their own pain and suffering as self-absorbed and shallow
#I don’t love Halsey’s songwriting but that pitchfork review was so mean spirited#you release one new americana & they never let you forget it 😔#(this also almost exclusively happens to artists that appeal to women)#this is honestly just like what happened to lana del rey back in the day#and ethel cain#like when kanye makes album after album about his own neuroses he’s a genius but any woman who does the same is just dismissed#as a narcissist
