time for a sisters day! Morgan, Beth, Iris, and Jesse have the day to do whatever they want, what do they do? :)
*Note: Beth Allen is @vexic929’s OC! Find out more about her here (and in the “beth allen” tag)
Oooh honestly they'd probably all go for a mani-pedi, and probably for brunch...and a movie (they'd all fight about which move to see though 😂 especially Morgan and Jesse). Morgan and Beth in particular would bond over being Barry's baby sisters and swap stories about them, and Beth would fiercely reassure Morgan that not being blood-related to Barry doesn't make her any less deserving of that title (which Morgan doubts on occasion, though when she hears that from Beth, it's hard to deny). And ofc Morgan, Beth, and Jesse would all swap stories about their different Earths.
Naturally, in between it all, they'd find time to mess with Barry 😉 with Beth ofc not existing in my AU’s E1, Barry wouldn't know her, so they'd have fun at his expense, jokingly asking why he doesn't remember his "adorable sister" (Beth) 😂 of course, they'd come clean before it went too far though—they want to tease him, not distress him. But he's familiar enough with multiverse shenanigans that he's not too bothered and even teases them for giving up the game early.

“7-Adam-19, armed shoplifter, Radcliffe Complex, 718 Oscar Road. Respond.”
The dispatcher’s voice filled the silence of the car.
“7-Adam-19 responding.” Officer Bradford set down the radio and replaced his hand on the steering wheel.
“What’s the most important thing to remember when dealing with an armed shoplifter, Boot?” Tim asked you after a moment.
“Why did I think that when I was in short-sleeves I would get a break from your Tim Tests?” you muttered.
You’d been Bradford’s rookie for seven months now and some days he still treated you like it was your first day on the force. You appreciated him trying to teach you so thoroughly, but did he have to be so Tim all the time?
“Is that your answer, Boot?”
“No, um, I guess it would be that he’s armed. But no, that’s too obvious for you. Ok, what about what they’re stealing? Their physical state? Keeping their hands in sight at all times?”
Tim sighed, looking bored. “Wrong. It’s—”
“Suspect on the move, heading east on Apple Boulevard,” came the dispatcher’s update, interrupting your TO’s answer.
“Looks like we’re headed east,” Tim said, turning sharply in the direction you’d just come from.
“Saved by the suspect,” you joked.
“Don’t think this is over,” Tim narrowed his eyes at the road. “Lessons don’t stop for crime.”
“Ok, batman.”
Tim glared at you.
“I mean, Sir.”
After you’d first been assigned to Officer Bradford, you’d been told stories of his ruthless training style. Your first thought was that you needed to impress him from day one.
Well, technically your first thought was damn, because you’d have to be insane not to notice how objectively attractive he was. But you’d quickly quelled that thought—crushing on your TO was not how you wanted to start your career as an officer.
So, impressing him was your second thought. And you had been more than a little terrified of not impressing him.
You would be lying if you said that wasn’t how things still were between you two, to a degree—you trying to prove yourself and him making it as difficult as possible.
But, at least after several months, you felt like your TO trusted you more.
“There!” You pointed to a man running down the street, duffel bag in hand.
Tim hit the gas, surpassing the suspect, and skidding to a stop in front of him, effectively cutting him off.
You both hurried out of the car, weapons drawn on the man who was currently aiming his gun back and forth, between you and Bradford.
“Police! Drop your weapon!” Tim shouted at the man.
The man hesitated, seeming to be weighing his options—how easily he could take out two cops.
“Set the weapon down, nice and easy,” Tim ordered, his own gun still pointed at the suspect.”
The man, seeming to sense the inevitability of his capture, sighed and set his gun on the ground.
“The answer was dialogue, by the way,” Tim addressed you, his eyes still on the suspect. “Dialogue is the most important thing when dealing with an armed suspect.”
“Good to know,” you acknowledged, before ordering the man in front of you. “Hands behind your head, interlace your fingers.”
The man’s gaze shot to you as he obeyed your commands.
“Hey, lady cop, you look familiar,” the criminal squinted at you.
“You must have me mistaken for someone else,” you said. You’d never seen this man in your life.
“I swear—”
“Hands on the car!” You ordered
The man reluctantly did what he was told, placing his palms on the side of the shop.
“Wait a minute,” the man sized you up before smirking slowly. “Your Paul Cranston’s girl, ain’t ya?”
You felt your blood instantly run cold at the name.
“You must have me mistaken for someone else,” you said again, robotically, grabbing one of his arms.
“No, no I’d recognize that pretty face anywhere,” the criminal whispered. “He told me all about you. Hey, why don’t you let me go and I’ll give you a friendly tip?”
You responded by twisting his arm behind his back even harder.
He winced. “So you didn’t hear then? Paul’s out.”
No. That couldn’t be true. Paul wasn’t supposed to be out for—
“Boot, you going to cuff him or not?” Tim called impatiently.
“Right.” You shook off the stupor and began handcuffing the suspect. Your mind was still on that name, however, and your reflexes were slowed.
Which is how the suspect was able to rip his arm from your grip and shove you to the ground as he tried to make a break for it.
Tim tackled him almost immediately, wrestling him into the cuffs that were dangling on one of his wrists where you had started to restrain him, and pushing him towards the shop.
“Wait, Paul’s got a message for you!” the man hurried out, looking only at you as Tim waked over and shoved him into the backseat. “He said you best watch yourself, because he has connections, and he still hasn’t gotten his revenge. He’s out—and he’s coming for you.”
“That’s enough, get in the car.” Tim slammed the door shut, and the echo of it rang in your ears as the man’s words played over and over again.
He’s out, and he’s coming for you.
“What the hell was that?”
You looked up to Bradford’s questioning—and furious—face. He offered you a hand and you took it, standing up to face him.
“Sorry, I—”
“‘Sorry’ doesn’t stop criminals from escaping,” Tim shouted. “Get your head in the game. You do want to be a cop, don’t you, Boot?”
“Yes, sir.”
So much for Tim trusting you. You couldn’t believe you’d almost just let a suspect get away. That had never happened to you before. But, that name—
Your TO shook his head, walking to the drivers side and opening the door. “You know, I should write you up for that.”
You noticed his wording. “But you’re not going to?”
He waited for you to get into the passenger seat before saying,
“I didn’t say that. First you’re going to tell me what just happened between you two.”
You flinched. “It—nothing. It was nothing.”
“Uh-huh. It didn’t sound like nothing. Who’s Paul Cranston?”
You swallowed hard. “He’s just someone I used to know.”
A million images flashed through your head. Paul’s face looming over you. The flashing lights and sirens. Waking up in the hospital.
You shook yourself out of it. You didn’t want to talk about this now. You swore you’d never talk about it again. “Shouldn’t—shouldn’t we get back to the station. Don’t we have to book this guy?”
Tim sighed, started the car, and re-entered traffic. You breathed a sigh of relief.
“Control, this is 7-Adam-19. I need an ID on a Paul Cranston,” Tim spoke into his radio.
And so much for not talking about this now.
“Can you do that without suspicion of a crime?” You asked him.
“You can when dispatch loves you.” He winked at you.
You rolled your eyes at him as the radio began speaking.
“Paul Cranston: caucasian male, date of birth 8/4/92, recently released on parole, history of theft and domestic violence.”
Tim turned his gaze to you. “How do you know this man, Boot?”
“It’s—a long story,” you told him.
“Well then you better start talking if you want to finish before we reach the station,” Tim commanded, making a left turn.
“Can’t you just let it go?” You asked him. “It’s really not that big of a deal.”
He’s out, and he’s coming for you.
You couldn’t fight the shiver that racked your body.
Tim’s eyes flicked to you, before returning back to the road. Suddenly, he slammed on the brakes, shifting the car into park before turning to you.
“If this is another one of your ‘I’m dying, where are we’ tests—”
“Boot, focus,” Tim barked.
“With all due respect, sir, I don’t think it’s really any of your concern if—”
“Of course it’s my concern!” Tim shouted. His expression was so intense, you squirmed under his gaze and you felt your face heat.
He looked torn for a moment, before sighing and saying, “It’s my job as your TO to train you to the best of my abilities, and I can’t do that if you’re withholding information that may affect your performance as an officer.”
“Fine,” you breathed. “It was a long time ago. I was 18, Paul and I met freshman year of college. We started dating and things were fine, good even, for a while.”
“Until?” Tim prompted.
“Until he got pissed one night because I caught him coming home really late with a ski mask and a bag full of stolen cash. Cliche, right?”
You looked to Tim, but his expression was as stony as ever and you continued.
“Apparently, he’d been stealing since high school and turns out he’d lied to me about working in retail and a whole bunch of other stuff. I threatened to call the police if he didn’t stop and—”
You took a deep breath, steeling yourself.
You watched the houses and trees and cars pass by as you drove towards the station.
“—and he hit me. It didn't stop after that—once he knew he could get away with it. He said if I ever told anyone—about the robberies, the beatings—that he’d kill me. And I let him go on like that for months. I was so scared that if I called anyone, he’d make good on his promise.”
Tim’s grip on the steering wheel tightened, his fingers turning white, but he didn’t speak.
“But then, one night, it got so bad that I thought he might actually kill me anyway. So I waited until he left the room for a minute and I called 911. He was arrested and—and that’s all I remember before I blacked out. I woke up in the hospital the next morning.”
You kept your voice even, trying not to let the emotion show through your story. You were just recounting facts. This was almost 10 years ago, and you’d moved on with your life.
But reliving it all was hard, even after so much time had passed.
“It’s actually why I joined the academy,” you finished. “I wanted to save people, the way the officers that night did for me.”
You were both silent for a moment.
A muscle in Tim’s jaw ticked. “Does the department know?”
“Yeah,” you sighed. “It’s all part of my file.”
“And the guy back there?”
You shrugged, glancing back at the suspect and lowering your voice. “He must be one of Paul’s partners or goons or—I don’t know. I guess he’s been in contact with him since he was released, if he knows what I look like.”
The thought made your skin crawl.
“I don’t know what came over me,” you kept going. “It’s been years, I just—I didn’t expect to hear about him out of the blue from a criminal on the street, you know? But, I promise it won’t happen again.”
Tim ignored that. “Do you think it was an empty threat?”
“I don’t know,” you admitted. “But I sure as hell hope so.”
Bradford was silent for a long moment, his expression tense.
The radio crackled to life. “7-Adam-19, we have a 215 in progress near your area, 239 West Armston Street. Respond.”
“Negative,” Bradford answered the dispatch call.
You stared at him, shocked. “Why aren’t we taking that? We can drop this guy off afterwards.”
“Yeah, I agree,” the suspect chimed in from the backseat. “I think you should take that first.”
Tim payed him no attention. “They’ll have someone else over there in minutes. We have more important things to do.”
“You’re not even going to ask me if I know what a 215 is?” You joked. Tim never passed up an opportunity to quiz you.
“What’s a 215, Boot?”
“Carjacking.”
“Correct.” Tim nodded. “And we’re going to have a talk with Sergeant Grey.”
₊˚ ✧ ‿︵‿୨୧‿︵‿ ✧ ₊˚
“Paul Cranston, released on parole from a thirteen year sentence three days ago, currently believed to be residing in the Woodland Hills area.”
You sat in the briefing room, surrounded by other officers, as Sergeant Grey read out your ex-boyfriend’s file. You stared into Paul’s face on the screen, his mugshot visible from all angles.
Bradford stood near the front of the room, leaning against the wall.
“The department is aware of Officer (Y/l/n)’s history with Mr. Cranston,” Grey continued. “And will take necessary action should the situation progress.”
“So, what’s the course of action here?” Tim crossed his arms.
“I’m afraid, as of now, there isn’t one,” Grey said. “Since there is no direct proof against Paul Cranston, we’d essentially be taking the word of a petty thief and wasting resources on what most likely was a desperate attempt to escape arrest. The department doesn’t exactly consider it a threat.”
“Doesn’t consider it a threat?” Tim’s voice was low and dangerous. “How about a charge for threatening an officer?”
“But Paul didn’t threaten an officer,” you sighed, thinking. “The armed robbery suspect did.”
“Exactly, Officer (Y/l/n),” Grey agreed. “Basically, our hands are tied.”
“Then untie them,” Bradford snapped, beginning to pace. “There’s gotta be some technicality we can get him on. Violation of parole, conspiring with a felon, failure to—”
“That’s enough, Officer Bradford,” The sergeant fixed your TO with a firm look. “I appreciate your concern for (Y/l/n)’s safety, but we’ve done all we can do. And, for now, that’s nothing.”
Tim’s concern for your safety. That thought had been in the back of your mind since the ride to the station. You couldn’t figure out why Tim was so determined about this. You supposed you were his rookie and was his job to look out for you. It was just, up until now, he hadn’t exactly done anything to make you believe he’d care so much.
“Failure to take action could be endangering one of our officers,” Tim said, his jaw clenched. “Who’s to say this guy won’t make good on his threat? At least increase security at (Y/l/n)’s residence.”
“Tim, its fine,” you said, your voice firm. “Let it go.”
They were making a big enough deal about this already. It probably was just a case of a criminal trying anything to get free. You doubted Paul even cared about what happened to you anymore. He probably never wanted to see you again—and that was a good thing.
But, then, you couldn’t get those words out of your head.
He’s out and he’s coming for you.
Bradford turned to you, his chest rising and falling. He looked so…resolved. Like he did when chasing down a suspect or that time when you’d walked in on him in the training rooms.
Images of Tim shirtless, the muscles in his back tight as he pushed himself harder filled your head and you quickly shook them away. Definitely not the time.
“We’ll send a surveillance team to Paul’s location in the morning,” Grey said, turning to address you. “But for now the best thing you can do is to go home, get some sleep, and not let this rattle you. Understood?”
“Yes, Sergeant.”
“Good. Because the last thing the L.A.P.D needs is a cop who lets their personal life get in the way of their ability to do their job in any way that’s less than exemplary. I trust that’s not the case?”
You glanced to Bradford, certain he was going to mention your mistake with the suspect earlier.
“No, Sir,” Tim said instead. “My rookies don’t do ‘less than exemplary’. Don’t worry about (Y/l/n)—she’s proved to me she has what it takes to be an officer.”
“Glad to hear it. Shift over. Everybody else, back to work,” Sergeant Grey waved everyone away.
You walked towards the front of the room, hearing grumbled complaints about midnight shift from the unlucky officers who still had to do patrol as you did so.
You stopped in front of your TO. His eyes were on you, his brow drawn in something that looked like concern.
“Thanks,” you said. You couldn’t believe he’d told Grey all that—it was the most complimentary thing he’d said about you in your whole time riding with him.
“I didn’t say anything that wasn’t true,” Tim stated, shrugging. “I expect you to live up to any praise I’ve given you.”
“Yes, sir,” you nodded, almost smiling.
“Besides, you’re being trained by me. You’d have to be royally screwed up not to become one of the best on the force.”
“And he’s humble too,” you teased. “But I’m going to take that as a compliment.”
“Whatever, Boot.” Tim smiled, shaking his head.
“Be nonchalant all you want,” you said, feeling brave. “I know you like me.”
For a brief moment, Tim looked like you’d slapped him. But then, the flash of—whatever that was—was gone and his expression was replaced by one of cold indifference.
“In your TO not your friend, (Y/l/n),” he stated. “It’s not about liking you. It’s about training you.”
You sighed inwardly. Just when you thought you were making ground with Tim, he treated you like you’d just met. “Of course, how could I forget.”
Tim stayed silent.
“Well, I should head out,” you told him, “I’ve got a busy night ahead me. You know, trying not to get killed by my ex and all.”
You’d meant it as a joke, to make light of the situation that left you feeling more uneasy than you’d care to admit. Tim, however, just shook his head and brushed past you, out of the briefing room.
You stood there for a moment, trying to work through what had just happened, before turning around and taking a step in the other direction. Only to find Officers Lopez and Bishop standing in front of you, staring between you and Tim’s retreating figure.
“So how’d you do it?” Bishop looked you up and down.
“Do what?” You asked, confused.
“Get Tim wrapped around your finger,” Lopez answered for her, smirking.
You felt your eyes widen. “Tim’s not—”
“Please,” Lopez put her hands on her hips. “I’ve watched him train dozens of rookies and he’s never stood up for any of them like that. So naturally I figured you’re either blackmailing him or sleeping with him.”
You blanched, feeling the heat rush to your cheeks as you let what Angela said sink in. You knew she was just teasing you, but the statement caught you off guard. You imagined you and Tim—together. It wasn’t necessarily an unpleasant thought. And then you realized what you were thinking and you chided yourself, hurriedly un-imagining it.
“No, that’s not—neither one of those things,” you answered quickly. “Trust me, Tim doesn’t give me any special treatment, if that’s what you’re implying. I actually can’t tell if he hates me half of the time.”
“We’re not implying anything,” Bishop replied. “Only observing. And he doesn’t hate you.”
“How can you possibly know that?” You were suddenly insecure. You still held on to a secret dread that you were going to wildly disappoint Tim—that you already had. Sure, there was all the stuff he had just said. But there was also months of him being hard on you and saying that you weren’t friends.
“Because I’ve seen him hate plenty of people,” Bishop spoke. “And he definitely didn’t look at them the way he looks at you.”
The way Tim looked at you? You weren’t aware he looked at you in a way that was different from the way he looked at anyone else at the station.
“What are you guys trying to say?” You asked them.
“I’m saying watch out,” Bishop raised an eyebrow. “Because Tim might like you more than he’s willing to let you—or himself—in on.”
Could there be any truth to what the two officers were saying? Was it wrong for a small part of you to hope there was?
“Um, ok,” you said, blinking. “I’ll keep that in mind, thanks.”
“Don’t believe us if you want, it’s your call,” Bishop shrugged, backing up. “But I’m telling you, you mean something to Tim that the rest of us can only guess at.”
And with that she walked out of the room.
“Bishop can be intense,” Angela said when the woman was out of earshot. “She’s got that whole ‘anti-cops-dating’ thing going on—but I do think she’s right about this. Tim’s tough, and I’m sure he gives you hell—but it’s not because he doesn’t like you. I actually think it’s quite the opposite. ”
Was there really something that everyone saw between you and Tim except for you? You still couldn’t even entertain the thought that Tim had feelings for you that were more than TO and rookie.
“Well you’ve certainly left me with a lot to think about,” you said finally.
“Then I’ll let you start thinking—you’re welcome for the peace of mind.”
You wouldn’t have used the phrase peace of mind, yourself. Sure, it was nice to know that the officers who had known your TO for years were confident that he didn’t look down on you. But, this conversation also had left your head swimming with conflicting thoughts about Tim that you didn’t feel like dealing with right now.
“And take care,” Lopez said knowingly. “We have your back if anything happens.”
With that, your thoughts slammed back to the current situation.
“Right, that. You—you think something’s going to happen?” You asked, trying to sound casual.
“I think in this job we have to be prepared for the worst,” she corrected. “But I also think that bastard would have to be pretty stupid to mess with you.”
She smiled at you and you smiled back. After watching her leave, you followed her path, heading towards the locker rooms.
You thought about what she had said about you and Tim, about Paul.
You hoped she was right—you just couldn’t say which you hoped she was more right about.
₊˚ ✧ ‿︵‿୨୧‿︵‿ ✧ ₊˚
Your thoughts bounced between your conversation with Talia and Angela and the message from your ex as you walked to your car minutes later.
When you woke up this morning, you thought the most stressful part of your day would’ve been a police chase or a shootout. You never would’ve expected it to be my ex-boyfriend is out of jail and could be hunting me down and my training officer might have feelings for me.
Funny how things could change so fast.
Suddenly, you heard a bang. You spun around quickly, your heart in your throat. But it was only a car door being slammed shut from across the parking lot.
Get a grip, you told yourself.
You rounded the corner, running a hand through your hair.
You stopped. Tim was leaning against the side of your car, arms crossed in front of his chest. He looked you up and down.
“What are you doing?” You asked.
“Driving you home, Boot,” Tim said. “Get in the car.”
“Tim, you don’t have to—”
“That wasn’t a question, give me the keys.”
There was no point in fighting him. Besides, there was a small part of you that didn’t really want to fight him.
You tossed him the keys to your car and got in the passenger seat with a sigh.
Tim started the engine.
“If this is about Paul, this really isn’t necessary,” you said after you’d been driving for several minutes and the silence became too much. “I can handle myself. I am an officer, in case you forgot.”
“You’re a rookie,” Tim corrected, eyes never leaving the road. “And if the department won’t do anything, then I will.”
“What—we’re not going to go looking for him, are we?” You asked.
“Of course not,” Tim scoffed. “I’m not a vigilante, Boot. Where do you live?”
“Take a left at the light,” you guided.
Neither of you talked for the remainder of the drive, save your occasional directions. When you pointed out your apartment building, Tim parked the car and handed you the keys.
“Thanks,” you mumbled to him as you got out of the car, grabbing your bag and heading towards the building.
You heard a door shut behind you and turned to find your TO standing on the sidewalk, an eyebrow raised.
“You didn’t think I was just going to let you spend the night alone with a target on your head, did you, Boot?”
“Tim—”
“No more protests,” he said firmly. “As your TO, I—”
“No, I was just going to say that if you were planning on staying here, why couldn’t I have just driven my own car?”
“I don’t let my rookies drive,” Tim walked past you and to the front door. “Even off-duty.”
You followed him quickly, getting out your key and letting you both in.
When you reached your apartment you did a quick scan of the space—it wasn’t exactly like you’d been expecting company, much less your training officer. You cringed at the messiness.
“How many entrances and exits are there?” Bradford asked.
“Um, just the front door. And there’s windows in the kitchen and the bedroom,” you said.
You skimmed past everything in the place, looking towards the window in your bedroom. Your eye caught on one of your bras hanging from your bedpost. You quickly ran over and shut the door, blushing and hoping Tim hadn’t noticed.
“Please, Boot,” Tim made a face. “It’s nothing I haven’t already seen before.”
“Ok no offense, but I usually don’t let guys see my bra the first time I bring them to my place,” you joked.
“If that’s an offer, I’m going to have to politely decline.”
“What—no,” you hurried out, worried your voice sounded wrong. “I just meant—”
Tim interrupted. “I’m going to do a sweep of the place, make sure everything’s as it should be.”
“Is that really needed?”
“I’m not taking any chances.” He left the room and you sunk down onto the couch, letting your bag fall to the floor.
Your TO returned a few minutes later. “All clear.”
“See, everything’s fine,” you said, speaking just as much to yourself as you were to Tim.
“Well,” Bradford started, amusement in his eyes. “I wouldn’t say everything is fine. Your storage closet’s a fire hazard.”
Had Tim Bradford just made a joke?
“I’ll be sure not to exit through the closet in the events of a fire,” you said sarcastically. “And if you keep insulting my living space, I’m going to be forced to kick you out.”
“Bold for someone whose career I could end.”
“You can’t end my career for that,” you shot back. Paused. “Can you?”
Tim raised his eyebrows.
“Only one way to find out,” you said enthusiastically, teasing him now. “I’ll see you tomorrow. Don’t let the closet trap you on the way out.
“Nice try, Boot. But you’re still stuck with me for,” Tim checked his watch. “eight hours.”
“Nine hours,” you corrected. You had to leave for work in nine hours.
“You’re right, I should get us drinks,” Tim joked.
You rolled you eyes and he shot you a look. “Help yourself to anything in the fridge.”
Tim got up, disappearing into the kitchen.
“Is all you own ginger ale, Boot?” He called.
“There’s six year old tequila in the cupboard,” you suggested.
“Ginger ale it is.”
Tim joined you in the living room again, carrying two bottles. He handed one to you, sitting down on the opposite side of the couch.
You noted the careful distance he put between you.
“What’s this thing made of, Boot? Plywood?” Tim asked, inspecting the couch.
You smothered a laugh.
“Get comfortable. It’s where you’re sleeping,” you answered.
“Won’t be necessary. If you’re not awake you’re not aware.”
“So, what, we’re taking shifts on guard like this is a stakeout?” You asked.
“Don’t be ridiculous. I didn’t come here to sleep.”
“Tim I can’t let you stay up all night while I’m unconscious.” you sighed.
“You can if it’s an order. Besides, no offense, but rookies are historically less vigilant and have a slower response time…”
You tried not to take offense at that. “Right, Eagle Eye.”
Tim glared at you.
“Angela told me.”
“Of course she did. And at least I didn’t leave valuable evidence on the street to chase after a dog wearing a top hat.”
“Sparky could’ve been involved in the crime,” you said, indignant. “And that was one time!”
“One time too many,” Tim mumbled, lifting the bottle to his lips, his eyes sparkling.
“Ok, so when you were a rookie you were, what, perfect?” You shot back.
“Damn straight.” Tim nodded.
“You made no mistakes, at all?” You prompted.
“Well,” Tim took a sip of his drink. “There was one thing.”
“Aside from the graffiti incident?”
“That wasn’t a mistake because it wasn’t my fault. I was following direct orders and—you know what, never mind. If you don’t want to hear it—”
“No, no, I do!” you scooted towards the edge of your seat in anticipation. “And none of that ‘I worked too hard and too efficiently’ crap.”
“Wouldn’t dream of it,” he said sarcastically. “My first week on the job I was put on paperwork duty, which was—”
“Boring and tedious? I can imagine,” you deadpanned, having been put in charge of paperwork by Tim many times.
“I was going to say necessary and a valuable skill to have,” Bradford corrected. “But anyways, we had just got done booking a couple suspects and I was working on the reports. A triple homicide and a prostitution case. It was a long day and I was tired and I guess I got sloppy—”
“You? Sloppy?” You interrupted.
“Do you want me to tell you this story or not?”
“Right, sorry. Continue.”
Tim did. “I’d just finished tagging the evidence for both cases and when I was filling everything out I somehow got the numbers mixed up. Long story short, according to my report, the homicide gun ended up being linked to the prostitution case and the weapon allegedly used in the triple homicide was…a pair of pink, fluffy handcuffs.”
You couldn’t stop the laugh that escaped you now.
“Forensics caught it before it was sent to the judge, thank god,” Bradford sighed. “But the next day when I was getting ready for my shift, I was greeted by dozens of similar handcuffs in my locker—apparently Smitty has a guy.”
“Tell me you kept them,” you begged, pulling your knees up to your chest.
“Of course not!”
Tim blinked.
“Well, not all of them—Isabel made me take a pair home. I found out later that she was the one who orchestrated the whole prank. She used to do stuff like that all the time before she, uh,—”
“Tim—”
You’d heard about Bradford’s ex-wife. How she’d become an addict, gotten herself mixed up with bad people. You knew how much it had affected Tim, even if he hadn’t said so.
She was in rehab now, getting her life back together. You were glad she was finally getting the help she needed. Still, you knew how much she meant to Tim. How much it had hurt him to move on from her and let her start a new life without him.
“I’m fine.” Tim said firmly, clearing his throat. “It’s good to talk about her…before. She’s on the right path now.”
You stared at the ground in front of you, picking at your fingernails.
“Are you still in love with her?” The question was out of your mouth before you could stop it. You didn’t know why you asked—didn’t know why you cared what the answer was. Ten minutes ago you wouldn’t have even dared to ask that question.
But he was being so uncharacteristically open and you seemed to be getting along well. You reluctantly brought your eyes up to Tim.
His eyes had gone wide. He looked like he wanted to leave or yell at you or both, and you immediately regretted it.
But then his eyes softened and he opened his mouth. “No. I’ll always care about her and she’ll always be someone that I did love. But relationships change—people change.”
You nodded. “I get it—I mean, I’m kind of rusty on relationships—but I get it. I actually haven’t dated anyone since Paul. I guess it was just hard to trust someone after that. I kind of sabotaged any relationship that had any chance of starting.”
It was the first time you’d admitted that to anyone. You wouldn’t have pegged Tim as being so easy to talk to. You had almost forgotten about the whole Paul situation before you’d just brought him up. You had been enjoying hanging out with Tim, no matter the circumstances. He was actually pleasant to be around when he wasn’t on the clock.
You imagined this happening more often—you and Tim, not just coworkers but friends. Maybe even more. Maybe this was one relationship you didn’t have to end before it started.
You dared to let yourself think about it. You watched Tim process your words. Saw the emotion clearly written in his face as he looked at you intensely.
“Hey, thanks again for not letting me be alone tonight,” you told him, you’re voice soft.
“Don’t take it personally, Boot,” he said. “My house is being repainted and even your place beats breathing in paint fumes all night.”
“I’m honored,” you laughed, rolling your eyes. “But you have to admit this has been fun—hanging out.”
Your little impromptu sleepover. You smiled.
Tim, however, looked like a switch had been flipped inside of him. You watched as he clenched his jaw, leaning almost imperceptibly away from you
“Listen, Boot—”
He was cut off by the sound of breaking glass and a loud thumping sound.
You both shot up off the couch, abandoning your drinks. Tim’s hand went to his gun. You did the same.
Tim turned to you. “Stay here.”
“Like hell,” you shot back, following him as he started to do a sweep of the main room.
If that sound was someone—Paul—breaking in, you weren’t going to sit here and let Bradford fight your battles for you.
He signaled to let you know he was moving to the kitchen. You nodded, following.
“Clear,” he muttered, and moved on towards the bathroom. You were right behind him when you heard another noise, like the muffled sound of scraping of furniture, and you spun around.
The bedroom. It was the only room in that direction that you hadn’t checked yet.
You glanced to Tim, but he hadn’t heard it. He was a few feet ahead of you, just now entering the bathroom.
You slowly stepped away from him and made your way across the apartment, down the hall and over to the closed bedroom door.
Holding your weapon in one hand, you opened the door with the other. But, you barely had time to see what was on the other side before you were grabbed and a cloth was shoved into your mouth.
Your gun was ripped from your hand, and you were pushed hard onto the ground. Your wrist burned where you landed on shards of glass from the broken window
Something smacked into the back of your head and you were dragged and thrown onto the bed on the corner. You heard the door shut.
Squinting up into the light, rubbing your throbbing head, your heart dropped as you saw who was in front of you.
“Did you miss me?” Paul sneered, spinning your gun in his hand.
You froze. Everything crashed into you at once. The events of the last time you saw your ex-boyfriend sped through your mind. Suddenly, you were scared and 18 again, at the mercy of this man.
“I guess you got my man’s message,” Paul continued. “Because you don’t exactly look shocked to see me. Scared, of course, but not shocked.”
Coming back to yourself, you scrambled up onto your knees, ready to knock him out.
Paul shook his head, laughing. “No, no. If you move even an inch I’ll shoot you right in the forehead.”
You sat back down, your heart thumping in your chest as you scanned the room for a way out. Some way to get the upper hand on him. You had been trained for this.
“Listen to me,” he continued, his hand coming to the gag in your mouth. You flinched away from him. “I know there’s someone in here with you. If you try to scream to alert them, I will also shoot you. I’d like to play with you first before I put a bullet in your brain but, hey, I’m not picky. Is that clear?”
You nodded, trying to measure how fast you could knock the weapon out of his hand before he could take a shot at you. Paul took the cloth out of you mouth.
You gasped in air. “Backup’s going to be in here any second and then you’re going back to prison.”
Tim would notice you were gone. He had to.
“Oh, I don’t think so,” Paul smiled. “I’ll be long gone and you’ll be long dead before that happens.”
You glanced towards the door. What was taking him so long?
Suddenly, Paul reached forwards and gripped your face in his hand. “Just as beautiful as I remember. It was such a shame things had to end with us as they did. How did that happen again? Oh, that’s right. You betrayed me.”
“And that was the best decision I ever made,” you spat.
Paul backed up, shaking his head. “You’ve gotten feistier, baby. It’ll make this so much more fun for me.”
He stepped back towards you, his face inches from yours, sneering. “This’ll be just like old times.”
Bam! The door to your bedroom busted open. Bradford rushed in, taking in the situation. You breathed a sigh of relief.
“Get down on the ground!” Tim growled.
Paul froze for only a second, fear flashing across his face, but it was enough. You lunged, wrestling the gun out of his hands, your wrist protesting.
You trained it on him. Paul was surrounded.
“You have five seconds to get on the ground before I shoot you,” Tim bit out, his expression murderous.
“Come on, baby, you’re not going to let Officer Buzzkill treat me like that, are you?” Paul appealed to you.
You leveled your gaze on him, ignoring his words. “You heard him. Get on the ground.”
Paul slowly knelt, never taking his eyes off of you. Tim charged him, pulling out handcuffs and locking them around his wrists.
You took a moment to be amused—of course Tim had off-duty cuffs.
“So this ends the way it starts, huh?” Paul shook his head. “You getting me locked up?”
“Just like old times,” you echoed his earlier statement. You stayed stoic, putting your hands on your hips to hide the way they shook.
Anger sparked in Paul’s eyes before he took on a smug expression. “You’re right. You’re the same girl you were when I met you. You haven’t changed a bit.”
“Don’t listen to him, Boot,” Tim warned hauling the man up off the ground.
“You know I’m right,” Paul’s manic eyes bore into yours. He was enjoying every moment of this, laughter in his tone. It took all that was in you to keep your expression blank, unaffected. “You’ll always be that person I knew—the person who loved me. Because you did—love me. You could’ve walked away. But you didn’t. You just took it all like the victim you are. You pathetic bitch—”
He was cut off abruptly as Tim slammed him face-first against the wall. Paul cried out.
“That’s enough!” Tim shouted. “If you ever threaten—no, if you even look at (Y/l/n) again, I will hunt you down and personally remove every external limb from your body, do you understand me? (Y/n) is a million times the person you will ever be and you don’t get to make her feel small. If I didn’t think sitting in a cell for the rest of your life was a worse fate, I’d kill you right now—screw the department.”
Your ears were ringing, your head dizzy as you tried to ground yourself. Your voice came out tiny. “Tim, stop.”
Bradford turned to you, almost as if he had forgotten you were in the room. He was breathing hard, his fists clenched around the man in custody.
“And she’s not a victim,” Tim whispered, turning back to Paul, his voice right by his ear. “She’s a survivor.”
With that, he shoved Paul back to the ground and moved over to you, his eyes roaming over your face. Your body. He took the gun out of your hands, setting it on the desk. Then, he gripped your injured wrist and you winced as he inspected it.
“Probably hurts like hell, but you won’t need stitches. Any other injuries?”
“Um, he hit me in the back of the head,” you felt your scalp, a lump already forming.
Tim’s hands moved to your hair, his touch gentle, his breath on your cheek as he leaned to get a better look.
Your own breath caught, your heart racing at the intimacy of your position.
“What’s the damage?” You almost whispered.
Tim’s eyes met yours, the heat of his stare spreading through your body. “You’ll have a nasty bruise, but there’s no external bleeding.”
Tim stepped back, and you found yourself wishing he hadn’t.
“Are you—are you ok, Boot?” He asked carefully.
How did you even answer that question? You were still in shock, unable to process what had just happened.
“I will be,” you settled on, breathing in slowly. Exhaling.
Tim looked like he wanted to say more but he clenched his jaw, glancing in the direction of Paul, who had been uncharacteristically silent. Maybe he had finally accepted his defeat.
“I’m going to call for back up, you go clean that up,” Tim gestured to the blood covering your wrist where you had landed in the broken glass. “You need help?”
“No, I got it,” You nodded, walking towards the bathroom as you heard Tim make the call.
“911, what’s your emergency?”
“This is off-duty officer Tim Bradford, badge 34831. I need a unit to my location for a 126. Suspect in custody. Code 4.”
Tim’s voice faded as you made your way down the hall, shutting the bathroom door after you to access the medicine cabinet behind it.
You took out the necessary supplies and began cleaning the wound. You stopped in front of the sink, letting your burning eyes close for a moment, massaging your temples.
Now that you were alone, you let yourself collapse, bracing your hands against the counter
Images flooded your senses.
The gag. Paul hitting you from behind. You, young and frightened, huddled on the ground. That gleam in his eyes.
Your eyes snapped open, your breath coming out fast.
He’s in custody. You told yourself. He can’t hurt you anymore.
You looked at your reflection in the mirror staring wearily back at you, your hands still shaking as you brushed your hair back from your face. Was it hot in here or was it just you?
Turning your attention back to your wrist, you took a deep breath and continued to dab at the wound.
You reached for the bandages on the counter. A sheen of sweat broke out on your forehead as you wrapped your arm.
You pictured Paul’s grip on you. His words rang in your ears.
You’re the same girl you were when I met you. You haven’t changed a bit.
The room tilted. You swayed on your feet so you sunk down to the ground, leaning your head against the cabinet, the cool wood pressing against your head.
You tried to slow your erratic breathing but you couldn’t. You couldn’t—
The sound of footsteps and voices carried through the door. You were vaguely aware that it was probably the backup here to take Paul away.
You closed your eyes, your throat tight, you pulse thundering in your ears.
I’m ok, you tried to tell yourself. I’m ok. I’m ok.
You were unaware how long you sat like this. You had no concept of time. Your thoughts were wild, images flashing in and out, unable to form conscious ideas. Every breath sending a sharp pain through your body.
“Boot?”
The muffled voice was closer than the others had been.
“Boot?” The voice was louder now. You registered Tim at the door. He knocked once. Twice.
“Boot, I’m coming in,” he shouted, his voice laced with worry. The door was shoved open.
“Dammit,” he cursed, seeing your state. You felt him getting closer to you, but you didn’t look up as he knelt by you, his concerned expression taking in yours.
“Hey, look at me,” Tim coaxed. “(Y/l/n), breathe.”
He seemed miles and miles away. There was a pause.
“Hey, Boot, I got another test for you,” he spoke quickly, gently placing a hand on your shoulder. “I want you to tell me the most annoying person we work with.”
“What?” You rasped, barely hearing him.
“Bishop’s an easy target,” he said. “And Lopez is a slob, so you can’t go wrong there. West’s got the whole daddy issues thing. Don’t even get me started on Nolan—”
You swallowed hard, your mouth feeling dry.
“And then there’s me. I mean, I’m annoying right?”
You breathed a shaky laugh, opening your eyes slowly.
Tim smiled. “Oh so you agree? It’s ok, Boot, you can say me. Go ahead, I can take it.”
When you didn’t say anything, Tim kept talking. “Personally I’d go for Detective Coleman. The man makes double what I do and I’m convinced he doesn’t own a decent looking tie.”
“L-like the—the green one from last week,” you managed, trying to slow your breathing.
“Leprechauns would call it tacky,” Tim agreed. “Now, since we’ve discussed this from all angles I’m going to need you to choose wisely. Because this is going to go on your evaluation for today.”
You gulped. “Are—are you going to get me fired if I say you?”
Tim let out a quiet, relieved laugh. “I knew it. Guess who’s going back to long-sleeves on Monday?”
“In this heat wave? You—you wouldn’t dare,” you joked, sniffing.
“I don’t know, I am the most annoying person you work with—sounds like something I might do.”
You laughed again, this time the sound coming out less strained. You focused on taking deep breaths, feeling your heart rate return to normal.
“There you go.” Tim stood up, offering his hand to you for the second time that day. You gripped his arm as he pulled you up onto shaky legs.
“Thanks,” you mumbled, embarrassed to have had your TO see you like this now that your head was clearer.
“For what, doing my job?”
You smiled weakly at him, running a hand along your forehead. “Sorry for um—”
“Having a normal reaction to a highly emotional situation? Don’t apologize for being human,” Tim said firmly, his forehead creased.
“So, he’s gone?” You’re voice came out small.
Tim’s expression softened. “He’s gone.”
You nodded again, looking at the floor. Tim sighed, reaching an arm out. “Come here.”
You took a step towards him and then you were in his arms, his embrace strengthening you as he rubbed your back. You stood there like that, not wanting this to end. Not wanting to put distance between you again. Finally, he pulled back and looked down at you, his gaze weighted, before taking a few steps towards the door. You looked over Tim’s shoulder.
“Hey, (Y/n), look at me.” Tim said. You brought your gaze up to meet his. “He is never going to hurt you again, ok? I’ll make sure of that.”
You let your eyes fall closed, feeling ashamed that you had been so affected. That Tim had to handle all of this for you. “I know. And I’ll understand if after…all this, you don’t see me fit to—to be a police officer anymore.”
Tim’s eyes hardened, his voice hardening with them. “With all do respect, Boot, that’s the stupidest thing you’ve ever said. I meant every word of what I said back there—you’re a survivor. All I saw tonight is that you are a brave and intelligent woman who just so happens to have a scumbag of an ex-boyfriend. Don’t let it define you because then he wins. You’re a great cop, (Y/l/n). It’s rookies like you who make the force as strong as it is.”
You listened to Tim speak. He sounded so…passionate. Bishop’s words came back to you.
Tim might like you more than he’s willing to let you—or himself—in on.
You desperately wanted that to be true, now more than ever. He’d been so kind to you in this past hour—staying with you, rescuing you, reassuring you, bringing you back from whatever dark place you had just been in.
And then this. Talking about you like he…like he really cared about you. And maybe it was just because he felt like as your training officer he had to protect you. But in the moment, it felt like maybe it could be more than that.
“So what I’m hearing is, I’m getting a promotion?” You teased finally, brushing your hair back from your damp face, breaking the silence.
Bradford put up a hand. “Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, you still have a lot to learn from me.”
You sighed. This was normal, this was comfortable. How you and Tim always acted with each other. You were both relieved and disappointed at the change back into familiar territory.
You ran a hand through your hair, stifling a yawn. Saying today had been a long day would’ve been the understatement of the century.
“Now come on,” Tim flicked his head in the direction of the door. “It’s way past my bedtime.”
“Let me guess, nine p.m. sharp every night?” You teased.
“That’s not true.”
You raised an eyebrow at him.
“Nine-thirty,” he admitted.
You giggled, following Tim out of the bathroom and into the hallway which led to the living room.
You glanced at your bedroom as you passed it, trying not to think about what had happened in there. It was over now, you told yourself.
“Since my room is kind of a crime scene, I guess we’re both crashing out here,” you sighed, gesturing to the couch.
Silence filled the room and you immediately realized your mistake, cheeks flaming.
“Or, right, I guess you can go now. Danger’s over.”
“Are you kidding?” Tim said. “And get to bed even later? I’m not going anywhere.”
You stepped into the living room. You were glad Tim was staying. You felt safer with him here, even though you knew it was irrational.
“I’ll get the blankets and stuff,” you said, turning back the way you’d came.
“Let me go with you,” Tim offered.
“I would but they’re in the closet and I don’t want it to trap you or something,” you said.
“You think I can’t take a closet full of your crap? Bring it on,” Tim challenged and you led him down the hall.
A few minutes later you returned to the living room, blankets and pillows in tow. Tim helped you pull out the couch bed—you were grateful you’d opted for this couch instead of a regular one—and you stood back, admiring your work.
“Take the couch,” you told him. “It was your bed originally.”
“Not gonna happen.” Tim crossed his arms. “It’s your house. And you’re injured.”
“I’m fine. And where are you going to sleep? The floor?” You asked him.
Tim scanned the room and then sat down on the chair across from the couch-turned-bed.
“Are you sure you’re ok on that?” You asked. It didn’t exactly look comfortable for spending hours on.
“Trust me, Boot, you got the short end of the stick. Have fun sleeping on plywood.”
You smiled. “So, what, you’re just going to sit over there and watch me sleep?”
“I can leave, if you’re—”
“No,” you’re voice came out faster and more sharp than you’d intended. “I mean, you came all this way, I don’t want you to have to get an Uber home at this hour.”
You climbed into bed, aware that you were still in your clothes, but not caring enough to change.
“We should get some sleep, it’s been a long night,” Tim sighed. He got up and turned the lights off, darkness filling the room.
“Damn, boot,” you heard Tim’s voice even though you couldn’t see him anymore. “It’s pitch black in here. You don’t sleep with a light or anything?”
“Well I don’t usually sleep in my living room,” you pointed out. Then you stifled a laugh. “Wait a minute. Is Officer Tim Bradford afraid of the dark?”
Tim scoffed. “I’m not afraid of the dark.”
“Your secret’s safe with me,” you teased.
“There is no secret,” Tim shot back.
You winked. “Exactly.”
“You’re impossible.”
“Thank you.” You smiled.
The room fell silent. You heard him sit back down.
You laid back, staring up at the ceiling. The seconds ticked by.
“Do you—do you think he really would’ve shot me?” You asked, finally.
“I don’t know,” Tim admitted. “He clearly thought you guys had unfinished business. But guys like that get high on fear—on desperation. He couldn’t have that if you were dead. In his mind, he’d be losing his power over you.”
He paused.
“Besides, I don’t think he would’ve gotten the chance,” Tim said. “He clearly underestimated the badass-ness of his opponent.”
You snorted. “Did you just say ‘badass-ness’?”
“It’s a word!” Tim defended.
You laughed, turning over on your side.
“But seriously, if you ever need anything, you can always talk to me,” Tim said, sounding earnest. “I mean it.”
“I may just take you up on that,” you responded. “Do you tell that to all your rookies?”
You could barely make out Tim’s frame in the dark. “No, not all of them.”
“I’m going to take that as I’m special,” you said.
Your next words were out of your mouth before you could stop them.
“You know, Lopez and Bishop had this crazy idea that you had feelings for me,” you said, staring up at the ceiling. “But I told them it was just that—crazy.”
Tim didn’t speak.
“It is crazy right?” You asked. You had to know. He still was silent. “Right?”
“Boot, look—” Bradford started. His voice came out rough, as if he hadn’t talked in days. Your heartbeat was a deafening roar in your ears.
“Tim?”
You could hear more than see Tim’s movements. He stood, pacing the length of the room. Sat back down. Stood up again. Sat.
“Dammit, Boot, I can’t do this,” he finished. “I can’t do this right now, (Y/n).”
Your pulse quickened. He hadn’t denied it.
You stood up.
And maybe it was having to deny your attraction to your TO for seven months. Maybe it was the adrenaline still coursing through your veins from the attack earlier. Maybe it was because the darkness felt safe and secret—made you feel like you could do anything. Maybe you were just too eager after his small encouragement—or, lack of discouragement.
But, whatever the reason, you walked over to where Tim sat, kneeled down, looked into his confused, strained eyes, and kissed him.
Tim froze, his lips still against yours. And then, almost as if he was afraid you would vanish or startle, he placed his hand gingerly on your waist, and leaned into the kiss.
And he was kissing you back. Tim Bradford was kissing you back.
His free hand went to your hair, deepening the kiss as he gripped you closer. He kissed you like he had been waiting a lifetime.
It was desperate and raw and passionate—it was perfect.
You broke apart, both gasping for breath.
“Listen, Boot,” Tim started. You watched his Adam’s apple bob as he swallowed. “You’ve had a long and confusing day—”
You interrupted him. “Yeah. Yeah, I have. But I’m not confused about this.”
You brought your lips to his again. This time he didn’t hold back. He pulled you closer to him and you felt the warmth of him through his shirt.
When you came apart again, he was smiling.
“Well, I guess I can check thinking that you hate me off my daily checklist,” you whispered.
“I don’t hate you, Boot,” Tim said. “I actually hate how much I don’t hate you.”
You studied the planes of his face, the light from the hallway illuminating his eyes. His lips. His jawline.
“Boot—”
“If you’re going to say that this is a bad idea, I don’t want to hear it. Not tonight,” you said.
“I thought that was obvious.” Tim stated matter-of-factly. “I was going to say actually I’d appreciate it if you did turn on a lamp or something, because—”
You laughed, kissing him again.
“But seriously,” Tim continued. “You know we can’t do this.”
“Why not?” You pouted. “If it’s what we both want.”
“It’s not about what we want—we could be putting both of our careers in jeopardy.”
You knew he was right. Of course he was right.
“But is it—what you want?”
“God yes,” Tim blurted, standing up, his voice strained. “It’s what I’ve wanted from the moment I started training you. Do you know how hard it’s been trying to put distance between us and deny every damn thing when all I wanted to do was—”
He broke off, running a hand along his hair.
“Then do it.” Your heart pounded in your chest. “You’ll only be my TO for a few more months, we’ll just keep it a secret until then. No one has to know.”
Tim looked at you.
“Ok you’re right, Bishop and Lopez will totally know something’s up,” you admitted.
“I guess I’ll just have to transfer,” Tim joked.
“What happened to ‘Tim Bradford finished what he starts’?” You asked.
“Oh I intend to do just that,” Tim whispered. “Are we really thinking about doing this?”
You thought about the consequences you could face—Tim could face—if it got out that you and your training officer were romantically involved. You knew it would be a huge risk—one that could get you cut from the program.
You looked at Tim. He was watching you like he never wanted to let you go again. You thought about how long you’d wanted this, even if you didn’t fully know it until tonight.
And the decision seemed clear.
“Yeah,” you beamed. “Yeah I think we are.”
He cupped your face in his hand, his fingers warm against the back of your neck. Your eyes closed against his touch. You felt comfort for the first time in hours.
“You need rest,” Tim whispered and your eyes fluttered open. “As much as I’d love to do this all night.”
You nodded, backing up towards your bed. Tim ran a hand through his hair again and then sat back down in the armchair.
“What’re you doing?” You asked him.
“Going to bed,” Tim answered, as if it was obvious.
“Get over here,” you gestured, rolling your eyes at him.
“I was hoping you’d say that,” Tim smiled.
You climbed into bed beside him, pulling the covers over both of you.
You lay your head on Bradfords chest. You could feel his heartbeat in your ear as you closed your eyes.
“You know, this will kind of be like doing undercover work—minus the threat of getting killed,” you said.
“I don’t know about that—I wouldn’t put anything past an angry Sergeant Grey.”
“We’ll just have to be so in-character that we never find out,” you said.
“I’ll make sure to be extra tough on you next shift,” Tim agreed.
“And that’s different from any other day how?” You shot back, sitting up.
“Hey, training rookies is a sacred duty and I take that very seriously. If you think I’m going to throw your education out the window simply because—”
You shut him up by pressing your lips to his. You echoed his earlier words. “I wouldn’t dream of it.”
Tim shook is head slightly, eyes roaming over your face.
“What?” You asked.
“You’re so beautiful, (Y/n),” Tim breathed. “I’m so glad I can finally tell you that.”
“Me too,” you said. “Even if it took…this for it to happen.”
“Speaking of which, maybe I’ll take a sick day tomorrow,” Tim said. “Since there’s no way Grey—or myself—is letting you go to work. What’d you say?”
You wanted to fight him, say you were fine and you could make it to your shift the next day. But the promise of taking a sick day with Tim was to tempting to pass up.
“I say I’m glad your house is being repainted,” you teased. “Because then you’ll have to stay with me.”
Tim smiled knowingly. “My house isn’t being repainted, Boot. And I’m all yours.”
You grinned, laying back down and resting your head back against Tim. He wrapped his arm around your shoulder.
You felt safe, protected in his arms.
The rest would come. Dealing with what had happened tonight. Starting your secret relationship with Tim. Eventually facing everyone at work who had heard the news and would want to ask if you were ok. And you would be ok.
But for now, this was enough. He was enough.
“Tim?” You whispered.
“Hmm?”
You struggled for words to fit the gravity of what you were feeling for him. “Thanks for…everything.”
“What are TOs for,” Tim shrugged.
“Apparently keeping the night light business afloat.” You giggled at the look on Bradford’s face.
“Shut it, Boot.”

You Flinch During an Argument -Dabi
I like- sped through writing this, sorry if it sucks <33
Oh and the drabble kinda went outta line with the headcannons, but just a bit 😅
Edit: I'mma count this series as my 100 followers event cause why not?
Angst to fluff/ Comfort | Headcannons + a drabble | 963 words
Dabi | Hawks | Todoroki Shoto | Bakugo Katsuki | Midoriya Izuku | Shigaraki Tomura | Aizawa Shota | Amajiki Tamaki | Kirishima Eijiro | Shinso Hitoshi
Warnings!: Mentions of Dabi's backstory, mention of abuse (not in detail), mention of yelling, crying, thoughts of abandonment, flinching, self doubt. Let me know if I miss any!
Gif credit: @kilruas
Dabi would truly be broken.
As soon as you flinched he was send him back to his childhood, Endeavor screaming at his mother and siblings, the fear in their eyes as he did so.
The similarity left him stumbling backwards, making his way towards the front door.
You would quickly snap out of it, truly not knowing why you flinched. You knew Dabi would never hurt you, you knew that you were safe.
You would quickly realize that Dabi was leaving, and rush after him, panicking as you asked him where he was going, what he was doing, and why was he ignoring you.
Part of Dabi wanted to fall into your arms and be comforted, but he knew that that was wrong. He didn't deserve that. Or you, for a matter of fact.
And so with you crying and begging him not to go, he walked out the front door.
And he stayed away.. for a few months.
It was the second week of the fourth month when he came back, eye bags dark and turquoise eyes hesitant, scared, and lonely.
You would immediately jump on him, crying as you asked him why he left.
But, he still doubted himself and merily patted your back awkwardly.
And that was when you realized how terrified he was.
As soon as you were back on the ground you grabbed Dabi's shirt and pulled his face to yours, kissing him roughly.
As you pulled back to breathe you glared up at Dabi and his wide eyes.
"Dabi. I trust you. I don't know why I flinched that day, but I knew for a fact that you would xneverx hurt me. Phsycially at least. You broke my heart leaving like that."
At that moment Dabi realized what he really needed to focus on and lifted you back up, having you straddle his waist as he wrapped his arms around your smaller form, kissing your lips as a silent apology.
"D-Dabi?" You ask, voice hesitant as he grabs his work phone and jacket before sliding on his platform boots.
"Dabi, where are you going?" You ask, moving towards the man you've grown to adore.
"Dabi, answer me." You whisper, putting your hand on his arm.
Jerking his arm away, Dabi made his way towards your bedroom, confusing you further.
"Dabi! What are you doing?" You ask again, moving to keep up with the villain.
Dabi said nothing as he made his way towards the window, unlatching the glass before preparing to jump out.
"Dabi- don't go! Wait- lets talk about this, I know that it seems a lot worse than it actually is in your head!" You exclaim, voice wobbly as Dabi starts climbing.
"Dabi don't leave me!" You cry, grabbing onto his arm in a desperate hope to keep him here.
Dabi simply shook off your arm before taking off, causing you to mentally breakdown.
In your head you somehow did something wrong and now he was leaving you, going off to find someone better.
Breaking down in sobs, you desperately tried to hold yourself in some sort of comfort, silently begging for your Dabi to come back to you, knowing if you went out looking it would cause a scene.
~About four and a half months later~
You awoke to the soft knock on your window. Slowly blinking your eyes open, you sat up and yawned, wondering what woke you.
You stopped as another knock sounded from your window. You knew that knock. That knock belonged to your beloved Dabi, your one and only.
Rushing towards the window, you quickly unlocked and opened it, reveling in the site of Dabi, who looked quite uncomfortable.
"Dabi!" You exclaim, dragging him into your shared bedroom, careful not to hit his head on the window.
As soon as he was safely inside you jumped on top of him, wrapping your legs around his waist and arms around his neck. Out of instinct Dabi quickly wrapped his arms around you, making sure you wouldn't fall.
"W-why did you leave me?" You whisper, eyes moist as you bury your face in Dabi's neck, inhaling his comforting scent of campfire smoke and sandalwood.
"I- I was scared."
"Of what?"
"Hurting you, scaring you, loosing you." Dabi muttered, burying his nose in your hair hesitantly.
At that your sobs started, you clung onto Dabi as you cried, staining Dabi's dirty jacket with your tears.
Usually Dabi would bring you to bed, holding you against his chest while whispering comforting words to you. Or maybe even chuckling and sitting you on his lap, kissing you until you were too engrossed in him to think about what was making you upset.
But instead he awkwardly patted your back, his hold becoming a whole lot less certain.
It was at that moment that you realized that he was still terrified of what happened.
Slipping out of his hold, you faced Dabi, tears still falling down your face as you pulled Dabi's shirt, bringing Dabi's lips to yours you clashed them together, kissing Dabi roughly as you clung to his shirt, demanding his attention and trust.
Once your lungs demanded air you pulled away, glaring up at Dabi, whose cheeks were red and eyes wide.
"I trust you, fully." You mutter, pulling Dabi down so your noses touch, "I know you weren't going to hurt me and I know you never will. So please, stop doubting yourself. And make up for the lost time and kiss me."
At your words Dabi hesitated for a few seconds before smashing his lips against yours, pulling you against him as he greedily sought your touch, wanting to make up for the time he spent away from you.

Kinda Tempting pt. 2
Featuring: matt rempe x female reader x mat barzal
Genre: fluff, angst, little bit of smut
Note: i tried my best to refer to rempe as matthew to limit possible confusion of the guys…this was rewritten like 6 times, not entirely happy with it but I know y’all have been asking for part 2 😅🫶🏼 tried to make it so this could continue and we could see both sides of this story
Part 1
“Mmmmm.”
The sun was shining just enough in your eyes to wake you up, immediately making you regret not remembering to close the blinds before going to bed. Though you were a bit preoccupied to remember, chuckling to yourself as you looked at the 6 foot 8 sleeping giant next to you. Now taking notice of his cut up knuckles from yesterday's fight, lightly tracing your fingers over the marks. Earning a soft groan from Matthew.
His eyes fluttering open as he smiled at you, “good morning sunshine,” he stretched as he rolled onto his side, “good morning to you pretty lady.” A smile now on his face as he curled up with his pillow, looking up at you and studying the conflicted look on your face.
“What is it?”
Shaking your head you got up with a sigh, searching for a hoodie to throw on before rejoining him on your bed. “I’m just, thinking.”
“Let me guess….you regret last night?” His words came out with a playful tone, though his face showed a bit of sadness as he sat up and rested his back against your headboard. “Look if I convinced you to do something you didn’t really want to do, and I stirred up a bunch of shit now for you to deal with. I’m sorry, I truly didn’t mean for any of that to happen I just-“
“No, that’s the thing. I don’t regret it. But I feel bad for not regretting it. Am I a shitty person for that?” Matthew laughed along with you as he shrugged.
“I mean, I don’t think you’re a shitty person. I think you’re just, conflicted. I think you’re an amazing girl who is being strung along by her boyfriend, not knowing what the fuck the deal is. Waiting for the day he somehow magically turns back into the guy she fell in love with. But I don’t think that day is coming unfortunately.”
His fingers now entangling with yours as you took in his thoughts.
“I think, you’re unsure what to do. I think your head is telling you one thing, and your heart another. Personally, I don’t know the reason why you won’t leave him. And maybe that’s not for me to know. But I think you deserve so much more. I think you could do better, be happier, be with someone who isn’t gonna be another Mat Barzal.”
“And that’s you?”
Your tone catching him off guard a bit, but he laughed it off. “I’m not saying that, and I’m not saying any of this to try and get you to leave Mat for me. I’m sure you might be thinking I’m that kind of guy right now, especially after last night, but I’m not. I simply am saying this as a guy who thinks it would be an honor to call you his girlfriend. A guy who would take every opportunity to show you how amazing you are. To never make you feel the way you do right now being with Mat. But by no means am I trying to get you to leave him for me. Because I don’t think I need to convince you to do that.”
Just as you opened your mouth to challenge his cocky statement, your phone buzzed on the bed.
“It’s him…” Matthew gesturing for you to answer the call as he got up to get dressed.
“Hello?”
“Hey, sorry about yesterday. Just, wasn’t a good day. You know how it is. But um, I kind of realize I’ve not been the best boyfriend lately. And, I feel like I need to make it up to you.”
While you wanted to believe that he was being genuine, you’d heard this from Mat before. He’d apologize, be a better guy for a few days, then things would end up right back where they were.
“Let’s go grab lunch, maybe do some shopping. Spend the day together and make up for the last few months we’ve been apart.”
Matthew was mouthing the words go for it, and you rolled your eyes at him. His words still on your mind, not sure why you were still going to entertain fixing things with Mat if you just fucked another guy behind his back.
“Um, yeah sure.”
“Yeah? Great! I’ll be at your place in like an hour?”
“Sounds good. See you soon.”
Hanging up the phone you flopped down on your bed face first. “What’s the matter now?” Matthew laughed as he belly flopped onto the bed next to you, trying his best to make you laugh or smile.
“What the fuck do I do? He wants to make up for being absent and everything, and you’re over here telling me I shouldn’t entertain it!”
Matthew put his hands up in protest, “now wait a minute i didn’t say don’t entertain it. I simply am saying to be cautious and look out for yourself. Because, after the way you two interacted yesterday, I just think he’s full of it. But I could be wrong, and this lunch date could change everything. I don’t know. I simply am speaking as someone who cares. I want the best for you, and if that’s him, then great. I’ll still be here for the days you need to cry, or vent, or need to have some fun.”
He shot you a wink as his signature cocky grin found its place on his lips and you shook your head. “Matthew Rempe, you are not going to be some side piece for me while I figure out my relationship.” Standing up you headed to the bathroom to start getting ready for your date with Mat.
“And why’s that?” He called after you, leaning in the doorway as you pulled your makeup bag out from under your sink. “Because, you’re a human being, you have feelings. And I’m not just going to use you like that.”
He stepped in front of you, stealing your attention as he brushed your hair from your face. “But what if I’m okay with it?”
“You are really something else you know that?”
He shrugged as he stole a kiss from your lips.
“Well you make it really easy for me to make bad decisions.” He winked at you, stealing another kiss before heading to the kitchen to grab his keys.
“So you’re saying this is a bad decision?” You gestured to the two of you with your makeup brush. “Maybe, call me after lunch and tell me if you think so.”
He closed the door behind him and you let out a groan, not enjoying the position you were in at all. On one hand, your boyfriend of 2 years who was your first love. But who has checked out and left you feeling like it was time to walk away. Then on the flip side, a younger and wild Rempe, who knew what he wanted and didn’t hide it. Which you appreciated, and found quite hot. But how do you just up and leave Mat, and did you want to? None of this was fair to him, but then again, the way you’ve been strung along all these months not knowing where the two of you stand wasn’t fair either.
“Hey babe.”
Mat smiled at you as you climbed into his BMW. “Hey,” You flashed a smile as he leaned in to give you a kiss, “don’t you look handsome.”
He shrugged, “wanted to look good for you I guess. So what are we feeling, Italian? Mexican? A burger and fries?” Buckling your seatbelt you told yourself to listen to Matthew, let this date happen how it’s meant to happen. Don’t force anything one way or the other, let whatever the hell is gonna happen, happen. “Well we both know you’re always in the mood for Italian.”
“I’m a sucker for the carbs what can i say. Plus a glass of wine doesn’t sound too awful right now.”
His hand resting on the gear shift as he pulled out of the parking garage. The drive to the restaurant quiet, the result of you two being apart for so long that it was almost awkward between you two.
So far, your brain was telling you this wasn’t a good sign that this date was magically going to fix things.
“So, how late did you stay up doing your stuff last night?” Mat asking from behind his wine glass as you chuckled. “Um my job? I was up pretty late doing that stuff. Couldn’t even tell you how long I edited for last night.” Your voice trailing off as you sipped your wine, your palms sweaty just thinking about the secret you were hiding from him.
“I believe it, probably had a ton of footage to sift through.” He didn’t even make eye content when talking to you, glancing over the menu as you rested your chin on your fist with a sigh. “Plus I had extra clips to edit of Matt Rempe since it was his debut and everything.”
Mat laughed as he nodded, “Yeah that kid is something else. A fight his first shift, probably gonna end up with more penalty minutes than minutes on ice this season. That is if he lasts.” You were a bit surprised by his comments, Mat never the type to shit talk other guys in the league. “Hey, he earned his spot yesterday and he’s gonna keep working hard to stay up here. He’s a great guy. I personally think you’d like him, if you got to know him versus judging him…”
Your voice trailed off as your server brought your food. “Okay, no more hockey talk. Where shall I take you shopping? Need a new purse? Some shoes? I know you never turn down shoes.” He smiled at you as he wiped the pasta sauce from his chin.
This was always Mat’s way of fixing things. He loved to shop, both for you and for himself. So anytime he felt like he’d fucked up, his solution was to buy you everything you wanted without checking a price tag. But the material things never actually addressing the root of the problem that was there to begin with. Simply covering it up with new shoes, a new jacket, or purse.
“I don’t care, wherever is fine. Nothing I really need if I’m honest.” Your tone caught him off guard, at this point you were over this lunch date. Wishing you hadn’t even thought for a second that things were going to get better. “Okay, do you want to just go home and watch a movie or something? Since shopping doesn’t seem to be a good idea today.”
“Sure, a movie is fine.”
Mat decided for the two of you to head back to his place, due to traffic being crazy heading in the direction of your apartment. The car ride once again quiet, Mat a bit unsure what to talk about. He’d offended you when talking about your job and judging Rempe. Shopping normally be something you liked to do with him, but that too seemed to be a bad idea.
It wasn’t that he was on oblivious to the fact that things between you two were different, he just didn’t know why or how he could fix it. Feeling like it was a battle he’d already lost in your eyes. And no matter how hard he might try to prove to you he was still willing to fight, you’d just blow him off. Already moved on in your mind.
“Wow, someone has been decorating. Who helped you with this?” You looked around his apartment shocked, never knowing Mat to be a good decorator. “Well thanks, I didn’t think I sucked that bad at interior design. I maybe had a little help, but for the most part it was all me.”
He smiled proud as he grabbed a bottle of wine and two glasses.
“So, what movie are you thinking?”
Taking your glass you shrugged, “surprise me? You’re better at picking movies than me.” Mat laughing as he placed the stopper back in the bottle. “This is true, let me take a quick look at our options.”
Subconsciously you had practically chugged your glass of wine, your nerves rampant as you didn’t know what the hell you were doing. Clearly you were unhappy, this date not going at all how you hoped. You still were holding out hope, but the more and more Mat didn’t talk to you or kept conversation short, the more your thoughts were racing.
“Do you still love me?”
Mat snapped his head to you, almost laughing as he couldn’t believe you’d asked such a thing. Almost shocked a bit yourself at your boldness to just come right out and say that. “Um, yes? Why would you even ask that?”
“When’s the last time you said it? Do you realize what I’ve been going through these last few months? Hell let’s just say the whole last year. I barely see you! We barely speak, and lord knows we haven’t had sex in months. Not that it matters that much, but we both know you like sex. So the fact we haven’t even done that…Like, are you just waiting for me to breakup with you? Or am I supposed to just wait around for you to start acting like the man I fell in love with again?”
He set his wine glass down, trying to figure out what to say. Feeling like no matter what he said at this point it would probably come across like an excuse.
“I, I don’t know what to say. Because, I don’t have a good enough reason for why I’ve been acting this way. And, you’re right. You don’t deserve this. Maybe, you should’ve given up on me a long time ago. I don’t know y/n, I can’t lie to you and say I don’t notice that it’s different. But I also don’t know what to do to fix it.”
“Kiss me! Hold me! Tell me you love me. Get excited to see me after months of hardly talking. There’s plenty of things you could do. The answer isn’t to treat me to lunch and take me shopping. I don’t need food and clothes, I need my boyfriend. I need to feel like you love me. Like you miss me.”
“And you don’t think I feel that way?”
His tone coming out hurt, his hands running through his hair as he tried to think of a response.
“Notice how you haven’t said it once. Even when I point it out, you say yes and agree, but you haven’t once said it to me. And that speaks volumes.”
Grabbing your phone and purse you headed for the door, Mat quickly running to stop you. “Now wait a minute, I get I’ve been absent and not the same guy I used to be, but I’ve never been the type to let you walk out like this. Please, talk to me. Help me understand what you need from me so we can make things work.”
Retreating to the couch, you sat down with a sigh, not sure what to say. “Mat, I shouldn’t have to tell you what I need. You’re my boyfriend. We’ve been together long enough that you should know me better than this. If you’ve fallen out of love with me, then tell me. If you’ve been seeing other people, then tell me. But please don’t keep stringing me along when it’s clear this isn’t working for us right now.”
He looked at you shocked, the assumption he was cheating hitting him like a train in his chest. “You’re joking? You think I’ve been cheating on you? Please y/n, that’s ridiculous. Where is all of this coming from? You say that I’m no longer the guy you fell in love with, but you’re starting to give me the same energy. I’ve never heard you talk like this…maybe you’re the one seeing other people?”
Stopping in your tracks you looked at him shocked, a slight chuckle leaving his lips as you tried to formulate a thought. “Yeah, doesn’t feel good being accused of that does it?”
“Of course not! No one ever wants to be accused of something like that. You know I love you, I’ve stuck by your side through so much. And I’m sorry if I’ve felt shut out or neglected. But I don’t understand what’s changed, why you won’t make time for me and prove to me that this relationship isn’t lost?”
Mat looked to the floor as he shook his head, acknowledging the things you’d said. Realizing that you were right, things had changed. And maybe he was too focused on his job that he refused to believe he’d dropped the ball.
The two of you stood in silence for a moment, you sniffled as he walked toward you, wrapping you in a hug. Your body completely relaxing in his embrace, this hug was just like you’d remembered. It was what you needed, to feel him hold you tight and reassure you things were okay.
He took your face in his hands, resting his forehead on yours as he softly kissed you. “I fucking love you, and I don’t want to be with anyone else. I don’t want to lose you. I will do whatever I have to, to prove to you that you’re it for me y/n. I’m sorry you’ve felt like I don’t care or don’t love you.”
Your hands anxiously pulling at the hem of his shirt, this was what you’d wanted, needed to hear from him. But at the same time, a part of you wished he would’ve said the opposite. Despite Matthew wanting you to try and make things work with Mat, you knew deep down he wanted things to end. He wanted to be with you, but his heart wasn’t going to let him come between you and another man. That wasn’t the type of guy he was, despite his willingness to see you behind closed doors while you figured your shit out.
“Please, just don’t walk out on me tonight. Stay with me, let me make this right between us.”
Simply nodding your head, Mat had convinced you. His lips crashing to yours as he lifted you off your feet, carrying you down the hall to his bedroom before tossing you on the bed.
He gazed down at you as he pulled his shirt off with a cocky grin, before lowering himself on top of you to bring your lips back to his. “I fucking missed you baby.”
Arching your back against him you moaned into the kiss, your skin practically on fire from his touch. Something you’d been deprived of for so long.
“God I missed you Mat.”
Your thoughts racing as you tried your best to just focus on the moment, ignoring any doubts or worries about Matthew. Mat was your boyfriend, this was the man you loved.
The two of you couldn’t get enough of each other, hands grazing every inch of one another as you both were short of breath. It was as if it were the first time you two were having sex, having to learn what each other liked, explore each other features again.
Mat normally loving to tease you and make you beg, but not tonight. Tonight he needed to show you how much he loved you, how much he cared, how sorry he was for being such an asshole to you. Yet you stuck by his side, and he’d loved you so much for that.
You’d tried to get Mat on his back so you could take some control, but he playfully pinned your arms above your head. “Not tonight baby girl, let me take care of you.”
His words sending shivers down your spine as he sat up, undoing his belt buckle then forcing his pants and briefs down in one motion. You’re gaze not leaving his as his hands traced up your legs, fingers hooking into the waistband of your leggings, pulling them off and tossing them across the room along with your panties.
“Mat, hurry up. A girl has gone months without this, I can’t wait much longer.”
Smirking down at you, he stroked himself as he teased your slit, groaning at how wet you already were. “Fuck baby, I missed how wet you get for me.” Without warning he thrusts into you, the two of you moaning at the feeling, expletives leaving your lips as you feel yourself adjusting to him. Wrapping your legs around him as he slowly began picking up the pace, your nails digging into the skin of his back as your lips longed for his. The kisses not deep enough, thrusts not hard enough, the two of you needing even more.
“Baby, I’m not going to last much longer. You feel so fucking good.”
“Cum for me Mat, please. I’m so close.”
His thrusts quick and sloppy, his breaths shorter as he cursed against your skin. A low groan leaving his lips as he came, the two of you sweaty and exhausted as you tried to collect yourselves.
“Fuck…now tell me why we haven’t done that in months?”
Mat smirked at you as he stood up, leaving to go start the shower before coming back and lifting you off the bed. “Alright, now let’s get you cleaned up.” He pressed a kiss to your lips as he carried you bridal style into the bathroom. The two of you rinsing off before climbing back into bed.
You threw on one of Mat’s t-shirts as he pulled on a pair of sweats. Laying down and holding his arm out for you to find your spot next to him. Fingers intertwining with yours as you lay your head on his chest.
“I missed this, so much.”
You felt him smile at your words, kissing your head as he agreed. “Me too baby girl. And I’m sorry you ever thought I didn’t want this with you anymore.”
The room fell silent as you were content just enjoying feeling normal again, like you’d finally gotten back to where you’d been needing to be. In your head, thanking Matthew for convincing you to even go out on the date with Mat to begin with. For convincing you to see what would happen.
Though a part of you knew it would hurt him to know you were back on good terms. Despite him saying he hoped things would work out, you knew he would still be heartbroken to know you and Mat were making it work.
“Y/n?”
The tone is Mat’s voice slightly changing, catching you off guard as you hummed a response, letting him know you were listening.
“I really am going to be better. Make more of an effort, whether that be calls, or driving to see you more often. I’m going to be better. I don’t want you to ever have to wonder if I’m missing you, if I still love you, or god forbid if I’m cheating on you.”
Your heart sinking at having accused him of the very thing you’d done just the night before. When here he was, trying to prove to you he’d just been distant, but he never lost his love for you.
“I know, I hear everything you’re saying. And I appreciate it, more than you know.”
He’d gone silent for a moment once again, you could sense he was thinking, hearing his heart racing as you laid on his chest. Soon enough, he shot up, moving to sit in front of you. Catching you off guard as you looked at him confused.
“What is it?”
Mat took your hands in his, practically choking on his own tongue as he couldn’t get his words out.
“You’re gonna think I’m crazy, but just hear me out.” Staring at him you were unsure of what you should be expecting him to say. Already happy enough with the fact that you’d, fingers crossed, gotten your boyfriend back. What else could he say now?
“I have loved you from the first day you’d found me at the rink, and shoved your phone in my face asking me to be a part of one of those dumb Tik Tok challenges. You didn’t give a fuck about who I was, just doing your job. And to be honest, that made me want to chase you even harder. Because you weren’t one of those girls who wanted me because of my looks. Or because I was a hockey player. You got to know me for who I was, and you took the time to see me for more than Mat Barzal of the New York Islanders.”
He smiled at you as he continued on, your mind and heart both racing as you couldn’t foresee the end of his sudden heartfelt moment.
“It breaks my heart you’ve felt alone for the last year. That you felt I had fallen out of love with you. But I promise, there would never be anything that could make me fall out of love with you y/n. And, I know you’re going to think I’m crazy when I ask this, but I’ve never been more sure of anything in my life.”
He briefly looked down at your hands in his, taking a deep breath as if to gain the confidence to finally spit out the words he’d been stalling from saying.
“Will you make me the happiest man in the world, and marry me?”

I’m back!!! Kind of 😅. I loved this request and this is my first Natasha fic so I loved it more, this was written very quick so please excuse any mistakes.
You felt out of place, you probably should go back to your lab and forget all about this but you couldn't. Natasha came back after a month long mission and you missed her, besides she looked different.
It was hard to tell what was it but for some reason you knew, something was off.
After making a quick stop in the kitchen, you went straight to Nat's office, knocking the door softly but it was too late, you saw her wipe her eyes.
"I- hi, I, sorry" you mumbled, embarassment for you and concern for her twisting your stomach "I brought you hot chocolate"
The readhead spy cleared her throat, taking control of her features and just like that, all the vulnerability vanished.
"Thanks, sweetheart"
She took the cup in her pale hands and it was very hard to don't get close to her to give her a hug.
"Are you ok?"
"Of course" her answer, fast and short, made you wince.
"The mission-" you started but Natasha got up from the chair, avoiding your gaze.
"I have to go" she said, taking her things to leave you there, feeling like an idiot.
A few days after that, you still felt bad. Who did you think you were? Going to the Natasha Romanoff and act like you were friends? Sure, she was nice to you every time she came to the lab to visit Tony but that was it, you were the one who had a hopeless crush on her and now she probably would never speak to you again.
"You should go home, cricket" your boss reminded you.
"Say the pot to the kettle or whatever"
Tony laughed at your sleep deprived response but when he was about to say something else, he saw a certain someone in the door.
"You know what, you are right, night cricket"
And he left, making sure you were busy with your notes and sending a wink to Natasha.
"You should listen to him" were the first words the readhead said, making you yell "didn't mean to scare you, sweetheart"
"No, I'm fine, I just didn't hear you come in"
Taking in her appareance, your anxiety rocketed. Nat was wearing one of your favorite hoodies and leggins, her hair braided to keep it out of the way. She looked beautiful as always but it was almost like she was ready to run away at any moment.
"I wanted to check on you, I haven't see you in a couple days"
Turning in your seat to see her better, you took a deep breath.
"I'm sorry, for the other day. I didn't want to intrude" you started but Nat closed the distance between you two.
"Please don't apologize, sweetheart" she sat on your desk, making your heart beat out of tune "you did nothing wrong"
"I- I saw you crying" you mentally slapped yourself after the words left your mouth, what the hell was happening go you?
Natasha pursed her lips and in that moment you were sure she would leave again but instead of that, she looked at her hands.
"There was a problem, with the mission" she said and this time you didn't stop yourself to reach for her.
"Do you- do you want to talk about it?"
Natasha looked at your hands together and sighed.
"Not yet, maybe later" with tenderness, she put her other hand on top of yours "what I mean with this is, I don't want to push you away, not you"
Were you dreaming? Was she saying what you think she was saying? It was impossible. But with the hint of honesty in her green eyes it was hard to doubt her.
"Then don't" you whispered with hope in your voice "I'm here"
A tiny yet beautiful smile appeared on her lips, maybe she wasn't ready to be herself completely with someone else but for you, she will try.

lost and found.
bang chan x fem!reader / you and chan are about to get married, but the day before the wedding, he just disappears. there’s a note on your bed, and from that point on, everything goes downhill.
additional tags / angst, hurt-comfort, emotional turmoil, wedding jitters, cold feet, open ending, love confessions, pre-wedding drama, visuals (text messages, letter), apologies — 963 words in total.
content warnings / abandonment, lack of communication, commitment issues, panic and anxiety (subtle), facing fears (fear of the future ?), some strong language (cussing), chan’s kind of an asshole (😅)
further notes / writing angst is so much fun, seriously my fave genre ever. 😝 been all about the fluffy stuff lately, but i had to dive back into my roots and whip up some tasty pre-wedding angst. what do you think? i'm totally loving it, heheh. hope you enjoy the ride! <3
The day before your wedding, you can’t help but feel a buzz of excitement and nervousness. You've waited for this moment for so long, and now it's almost here. You and Chan have been inseparable since you met, and tomorrow was supposed to be the start of your forever. But when you wake up that morning, something feels off.
You stretch out your hand, expecting to find Chan beside you, but the bed is cold. Frowning, you sit up, scanning the room for any sign of him. That’s when you see it—a note on his pillow. Your heart sinks as you reach for it, hands trembling.
You stare at the words, not comprehending. Had to leave? What does that even mean? Panic starts to rise in your chest as you read the note over and over again, hoping it will magically change or offer some explanation. But it doesn’t.
You grab your phone and dial his number, but it goes straight to voicemail. “Chan, what the hell is going on? Where are you? Call me back, please,” you plead, trying to keep your voice steady.
Hours pass, and still no word from Chan. You call his friends, his family, anyone who might know where he is, but no one has seen him. Every minute feels like an eternity, and the worry is gnawing at your insides.
By afternoon, your concern turns to anger. How could he do this to you? The day before your wedding, no less. You pace the living room, clutching your phone, willing it to ring. When it finally does, you almost drop it in your haste to answer.
“Hello?”
“Y/N.” It’s Chan’s voice, but it sounds strained.
“Chan! Where are you? What’s going on?” The questions spill out before you can stop them.
“I... I’m sorry, Y/N. I just... I need some time to think.”
“Think? About what? We’re getting married tomorrow!”
There’s a long pause, and you can hear him take a deep breath. “I know. I just... I’m not sure if I’m ready.”
The words hit you like a punch to the gut. “Not ready? Are you fucking kidding me, Chan? We’ve been planning this for months! Why are you doing this now?”
“I didn’t want to hurt you,” he says quietly.
“Well, guess what? You did hurt me. A lot. And you could’ve talked to me instead of just disappearing.”
“I’m so sorry,” he repeats, but it feels hollow. “I just... I need to figure some things out.”
You hang up, tears streaming down your face. Why would he do this to you? You feel a mix of hurt and rage, your emotions swinging wildly. Part of you wants to find him and demand answers, while another part of you just wants to curl up and cry.
The rest of the day is a blur. You cancel the rehearsal dinner, making up excuses for why Chan isn’t there. Your friends and family try to comfort you, but nothing they say can ease the pain.
That night, you lie in bed, staring at the ceiling, replaying every moment you’ve shared with Chan. You wonder where it all went wrong. Was it something you did? Something you said? The uncertainty is maddening.
The next morning, you wake up to a flurry of text messages. One stands out—it’s from Chan.
You hesitate, fingers hovering over the screen. Part of you wants to ignore him, to make him feel the pain you’re feeling. But the other part of you needs answers.
You arrive at the little park where you and Chan have shared so many memories. He’s sitting on the bench, looking more miserable than you’ve ever seen him. When he sees you, he stands up, but you hold up a hand to stop him.
“Just... explain,” you say, keeping your distance.
He takes a deep breath. “I’ve been freaking out, Y/N. The thought of forever, it just... it scared me. I started doubting everything, and I didn’t know how to tell you.”
“So you ran away instead? That’s real mature, Chan.”
“I know, I know. It was stupid. But I love you, and the idea of losing you terrified me even more.”
You can see the sincerity in his eyes, but the hurt is still too fresh. “You could’ve talked to me. We could’ve worked through it together.”
He nods, looking down. “I’m sorry. I should’ve. I was just so scared of disappointing you, of not being enough.”
You step closer, your anger softening a little. “Chan, we’re supposed to be a team. If you’re scared or unsure, you need to tell me. We face things together, remember?”
He looks up, tears in his eyes. “I remember. And I’m so sorry I forgot that. I promise, I’ll never run away again.”
You take a deep breath, the weight of the past day starting to lift. “This isn’t going to be easy, you know. We’ve got a lot to talk about, and it’s going to take time to rebuild that trust.”
“I know. And I’m willing to do whatever it takes,” he says, stepping closer.
You nod, feeling a small glimmer of hope. “Okay. Let’s start with talking.”
You spend the next few hours sitting on that bench, talking about everything. The doubts, the fears, the future. It’s raw and emotional, but it’s also healing. By the end of it, you both feel a bit lighter.
When you finally stand up, Chan reaches for your hand. “So, about that wedding...”
You give him a small smile. “Let’s take it one day at a time. We’ll get there when we’re both ready.”
And for the first time since you found that note, you believe it.

Ok so real talk. Do you have a problem with me? I've sent you several messages on your Tumblr saying nothing but nice things only to be ignored. Same with your Patreon. I'm one of your Patrons and I comment on things only for them to go unanswered always. I know you have a lot of people vying for your attention but it honestly feels like me in particular you have a problem even we don't know each other. I just don't understand how you can answer everyone's comments or messages but mine? I usually try to leave constructive comments or criticism only for you to ignore me.
Real talk: I'm not ignoring you. I've been busy with the rewrite which is taking a lot of my time and real life and trying to settle in after a really messy few months. Nowadays I go on Tumblr, make a post, maybe answer a question or two (and it's usually a draft or the most recent question in my inbox) and then sign out and go back to writing. On patreon, I try to respond to everybody but I am also trying to write the story and more patreon content in a timely manner since I don't like being inactive for a long time and leaving patrons hanging. As for my DMs, I have so many unread DMs that I try to get back to but I don't even look at it because I'm prioritizing the actual story for you and everyone.
I don't have a problem with you in particular, I have no problem with anyone. I try to read all the kind messages I get in my inbox but If I were to respond to them all, I'd be spamming the dashboard and I wouldn't get anything done 😅 I'm not ignoring you on purpose, it's just a lot. Plus, my real life hasn't been smooth sailing either but I don't like sharing on the internet so I don't say much.
I'm not trying to be all "woe is me" I just want you to understand! I do apologize if I made you feel like you were being ignored, that isn't my intention. I really do try my best to respond and to interact but I'm only one person. It's not like I have a team behind me.
Sorry. I'm trying my best!

The scene starts with two vacant chairs in front of the camera. Then two people walk in, sitting right next to each other.
"Okay, welcome. Can you introduce yourselves please" someone from behind the camera says
Your partner gestures for you to go first, "Hi I'm Jeong Y/N, 25"
"Hello, I'm Jeong Jaehyun, 26"
:Your last names are both Jeong?
The two of you chuckle, not the first time hearing this question "Mhm, but we're not related in any way. Don't worry" Jaehyun says
: So what are you to each other?
"I'm his girlfriend" you smile, so does Jaehyun.
"I'm her boyfriend"
: How long have the two of you been together?
"5 years"
"7 years"
The two of you answer differently, making you turn to look at each other. "That doesn't count" you tell him but Jaehyun shakes his head
"It does, it's been 7 years baby" he says
"We were on a break" you remind him, he gives you the stare so you turn to look at the camera again to change your answer
"We've been together for 7 years"
The person behind the camera chuckles
: You said you were on a break, what happened then?
"We kind of broke up for over a year, life happened and things got hectic. We decided mutually to end it" you explained
: How did the two of you got back together?
This time Jaehyun answers, recalling the memory
"We have the same circle of friends so we still saw each other sometimes, but this one time we went to dinner and we started talking again. It felt right. I realized how much I missed her and I wanted to give us another chance so I pursued her again" he looks over at you
"He saw flowers outside the restaurant and bought it, he gave it to me and now we're here. We haven't been apart since then" you finish
: How did the two of you meet?
"We met way back in middle school, he was one of the popular guys. All the girls in our grade had a crush on his and would give him their valentine favors. I really didn't think I had a chance" you chuckled, feeling your boyfriend's gaze on the side of your face
"I always get so many chocolates and valentines letter in my locker, but one year I got a whole cake with a small note greeting me a happy birthday" Jaehyun says
"That was me" you say with a big smile. You feel Jaehyun's hand take yours, then he kisses the back of your hand.
: Who liked who first?"
"I guess I did. I wasn't immune to his charms back then. I didn't expect he would notice me too"
"What do you mean? I knew who you were. I was the one who confessed first"
"Yeah because your ears would always turn red when we talked, you got busted" you tease him, giving his ear a playful tug
: What's one thing you love about your significant other?
Jaehyun answers first with no hesitation, "I love how she lets me be me. I feel the most complete with her. We broke up before so we can both learn and grow more, and we did. But me with her is the best version of me I can be"
You listen to his words, feeling all the emotions. Smiling at your boy before turning back to the camera
"I love his jokes" you hear him laugh from beside you
"Not everyone will get it. You can tell the exact moment he makes a joke in his head before he says it out loud, half of the time it's not even that funny but to me it always is. I just love his humor, I guess"
"I think you just love me a lot" he tells you, you roll your eyes at him
: Who said I love you first?
"He did, but technically I did. He said I said it in my sleep but he never told me about it until after a few years. But he's the one who said with both of us conscious" you chuckle
"She was so tired that day, we went back to my place and was just cuddling on my bed. I asked her if she was tired and wanted to sleep, she tucked herself on my side telling me to wake her up in an hour then she suddenly mumbled I love you. I thought I was hallucinating but I couldn't stop smiling after that. I said I love you to her not long after that, on the same bed while we were cuddling"
"Just cuddling" you clarified, earning a laugh from the staff
: Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years?
"Honestly, settled down with a family of my own"
"Of our own, baby" Jaehyun interrupts you, fighting the smile off of your face
"Settled down with a family of our own. I want to have kids, I love babies so it's definitely something I look forward to in the future"
Jaehyun listens to you, in his head he's already naming your two kids. He can't stop the smile on his face
"How about you, love?" you ask him, breaking him out if his thoughts
"Married to you, with two kids. I'm actually thinking of their names right now"
"Shut up" you laugh out loud, hitting him playfully on the arm
: What would you say is the secret to a long lasting relationship like yours?
"The truth is, it's not always smooth sailing. You will have fights, disagreements and arguments somewhere along the way and that's okay. That means the two of you are learning, growing up together. What's important is learning how to resolve it together, listen to each other and understand each other's side" you answer
Jaehyun nods in agreement.
"Be your partner's friend. It's important to tell them when something's not right, when something upsets you, when something bothers you. You don't always have to coddle them, appease them. Be each other's voice of reason. Of course always love and respect each othe" he says
: Okay, that's all. Thank you so much for sharing your time and your story with us, Mr. and Ms. Jeong. Anything else you want to say?
You shake your head, "Thank you everyone for your hardwork, thanks for having us" you say, then you look over at your boyfriend.
It was quick but you caught the cheeky smile on his face, and it meant one thing.
"Oh gosh he's about say something either really cheesy or really corny, just wait" you tell the staff and the camera
"Thanks everyone for having us, next time when we come back we'll be Mr. and Mrs. Jeong" he says with a big smile
"Okay see, I knew he was going to say something. That's it, valentine boy we're done here. Thank you!"

off limits (h.h)
skz racing series is back! apologies for being all over the place. 😅 i hope you guys enjoy this and let me know who you'd like to see next! we've got channie, felix, jeongin, and hannie 🥰
feedback is greatly appreciated 💓
You're walking into the elevator with your father and his assistant, Choi. After the doors close, Choi glances towards your father and clears his throat. "I hate to ruin a good mood, sir," he begins, gaining both of your attention. "But, there was another race last night."
Race? "Are you sure?" Your father asks, and Choi nods. You watch the two interact with one another. Choi shows him photos on his phone, causing the older man to scoff. "I'm tired of these damn kids."
The elevator stops gradually before the metal doors open. Both of them allow you to walk out first. You keep your mouth shut until it's just you and your father. You walk outside of your father's company building and turn to face him.
"What's he talking about?" You ask him with a raised brow. "Are you doing some sort of fundraiser?"
He laughs loudly. "No, I'm not," he says while leading you down the steps. "It's nothing for you to worry about, sweetheart."
"Are you sure? I don't have to worry about you, do I?" You ask him, wagging your finger in front of him.
"You don't need to worry," he smiles before draping an arm around you. "Your old man has control of everything."
You lean into his side, wrapping an arm around his waist. "Okay, good. Sometimes, I worry about you," you sigh, gliding your hand up and down his back.
"I know, sweetheart. I'm fine though. I promise you," he reassures you the best he can, squeezing your shoulder gently. "What are you doing today? Hopefully not spending it all with me. Your old man's quite boring."
A giggle leaves your lips, and you shake your head. "No, I thought about going to the art museum today. I haven't been in a while," you mention to him.
"That should be fun! Going by yourself or with some friends?"
"Just by myself. None of my friends are interested in art," you tell him with a laugh. "I prefer going alone anyway."
He walks you to the sleek black car before opening the back passenger door. "Are you going there now? Do you need any money?" Your father asks, reaching for his wallet.
"No, no, no," you stop him, your hand catching his wrist. "I already have tickets. I don't need anything, dad."
"Okay, fine. Have fun, okay?"
You nod your head and place a kiss on his cheek. You bid each other goodbye before you slip into the backseat of the vehicle.
The drive from your father's company to the art museum is about half an hour. You thank the driver after exiting the vehicle. You fish your phone out from your jacket, pulling up the electronic ticket.
You greet the person sitting in the admissions booth, showing the young woman your phone screen. She scans the ticket before motioning towards the entrance.
"Enjoy the exhibit," she politely mentions, waving her hand.
"Thank you!" You nod your head with a smile.
You feel a little giddy as you make your way inside. It's been a couple of months since you've been able to come here. Work has been extremely busy, leaving you with very little free time.
You admire each art piece for about five minutes. Taking in every detail and brush stroke you can find. You take pictures of your favorites, quickly checking the quality of it afterward.
When you move on to the next piece, you keep your eyes on your phone. You noticed a text from one of your friends and decided to answer her while walking.
A gasp leaves your lips as your body collides into someone else. You reach a hand out, steadying yourself while keeping the stranger standing upright. "I'm so sorry," you apologize, lifting your head to look at them.
"It's okay," the man laughs, resting one of his hands on top of yours. "Are you okay?"
You nod your head in response. He's so handsome. You think to yourself. His eyes drift from your eyes to your hand, and that's currently still gripping his jacket. You squeal in embarrassment, dropping your hand to your sides.
"Goodness, I'm sorry," you apologize again while tucking some hair behind your ear. "I didn't hurt you, right?"
The dark-haired man shakes his head, continuing to smile brightly at you. "No, I'm good. My name's Hyunjin," he introduces himself, bowing slightly before holding his hand out to you.
"Hyunjin," you repeat with a smile. You bow as well, telling him your name. You shake his hand afterward, the coolness of his rings shocking you slightly. "It's nice to meet you. Do you come here often?"
"I try to, yeah," he nods. The two of you start walking together. "I paint myself, so I come here as much as I can."
"You paint?" Your eyes lit up at the news, getting excited. "Do you have any pictures? I'd love to see!"
He bashfully laughs, bringing a hand to the back of his neck. "I-I do, yeah," Hyunjin stutters over his words. "They're not as good as these, though."
You smile up at him. "I'm sure they are, Hyunjin," you reassure him, bouncing on your heels.
He pulls up a picture on his phone, showing you a picture of an elderly couple. You gasp, subconsciously taking the phone from his hands. You zoom in on the photo, taking it all in.
"Hyunjin, this is absolutely amazing," you tell him truthfully, keeping your eyes on the photo.
"Thank you. That means a lot," he says with warm cheeks. He takes his phone back from you, slipping it into his back pocket. "What about you? Do you paint? Or draw?"
You hiss and cover your face. "See, you think I would, but unfortunately, I don't," you sigh in defeat. "I was not blessed with art skills. I just really enjoy looking at it."
"I'm sure you're not terrible," Hyunjin mentions while nudging your arm. You scoff jokingly, lifting your head to meet his eyes. "I can teach you if you want."
"Can I make one request for that?" You ask, biting your lip. When Hyunjin nods his head yes, your stomach fills with butterflies. "Can it be a date?"
His dark eyes widen at your request, and you notice his cheeks reddening. "Y-Yeah," he agrees.
You grab your phone from your jacket, opening up a new contact before handing it to him. Hyunjin looks down at your phone, slowly taking it into his hands. He types in his contact information and hands it back to you.
"Let me just," you cut yourself off, texting him so he has your number as well. You lock your phone afterward, shoving it back where it was. "Text me whenever you're free, okay?"
Hyunjin nods his head, a smile coming to his plump lips. "Feel free to text me whenever," he adds on as the two of you start walking in opposite directions.
"I will. You do the same," you wave to him, rounding a corner after. You stop after taking a few steps, resting your back against the white wall. You release a sigh and smile widely. "He's so cute."
You shake your head while pushing yourself off the wall, continuing your path through the art museum. As you look at many more amazing paintings, you couldn't help but wonder if you'll see Hyunjin again soon.
-
"I appreciate your help, sweetheart. I didn't realize the trip would take this long," your father mentions, his voice echoing off the walls of his office.
He's currently in Japan on a business trip, and originally, he's supposed to be back today. The flight he's scheduled for is delayed, causing a few meetings to be behind schedule.
"It's no problem, dad," you laugh while picking up your phone, staring at his contact photo. "I need to go. It's getting late, and I don't feel like walking home in the dark."
"Alright, I'll let you go. Message me when you get home, okay?" He asks, hearing a hint of worry in his voice.
"Of course. If it gets too dark I'll catch an Uber," you reassure him, hovering your finger over the disconnect button. "Love you."
Your father bids you goodnight, making sure to let you know that he loves you too. Both of you hang up, and you set your phone down onto his desk. You swivel in his office chair, looking out the large windows.
"Man, it's getting pretty dark pretty fast," you mention to yourself. You remind yourself to call an Uber before leaving the building.
Your gaze moves down the window, noticing the parking lot across the street is filled with sports cars. You raise an eyebrow as you spot the group of people surrounding some of the vehicles.
A hum leaves your lips, and you turn back towards the desk. You decide to head out for the day, logging out of your father's computer. You clean up his desk before standing up, sliding your phone into your pocket.
It takes you a couple of minutes to get down to the lobby, growing shocked that no one's here. A shiver runs down your spine, finding it odd to walk through a dimly lit lobby. You walk out of the company building, the voices from the parking lot of cars getting louder.
"It's packed over there," you say to yourself, making your way across the street.
You walk past dozens of cars as you head towards your favorite convenience store. A familiar figure walks past one of the vehicles, causing you to stop in your tracks.
Your lips part in surprise as you see Hyunjin walking with another guy. You never would've guessed that he'd be at one of these, let alone own a sports car. His eyes end up meeting yours, and you quickly look away.
"Shit," you curse to yourself and quickly walk towards the store.
A hand wraps around your wrist, stopping you from going any further. "Y/N, hi," Hyunjin greets you, shifting his position so he's standing in front of you.
"Hey, Hyunjin," you smile at him, feeling his thumb stroking your wrist.
"Do you work out here?" He asks you, wondering why you're out so late. You furrow your brows at his question. Hyunjin motions his head towards your father's building. "I saw you walk out of that corporate building."
You glance over your shoulder, noticing that you can see the lobby doors from here. "Uh, not exactly. My dad… owns it," you tell him slowly. "He's stuck in Japan, so I had to take care of a couple of his appointments."
"Your dad owns that building?" He asks with wide eyes, a low wow escaping his lips afterward.
"Yeah, it's alright," you shrug your shoulders, tucking some hair behind your ear. "Hey, actually, can I ask you something?"
Hyunjin nods his head, waiting for you to continue.
"The other day, he was talking to his assistant, and they mentioned a race happening near here. Would you happen to know about that?"
"Ah," he laughs, scratching the back of his neck. "Yeah, we race here."
"You race?" You ask in disbelief.
The black-haired man nods his head in answer before grabbing your hand. Your heart flutters in your chest when his fingers lace yours, leading you towards the parking lot.
"Wait, where are we going?" You mumble, almost tripping over your own feet.
"I want to show you my car," he says while glancing back at you. "Since you can't seem to believe I street race."
A scoff leaves your lips as the two of you weave through the crowd of people. You apologize to some after bumping into them. You tighten your grip on Hyunin's hand, jogging a little so you can grab a hold of the back of his shirt.
He stops and checks on you. "Are you okay?" Hyunjin asks, glancing around.
"Yeah, I just don't want to lose you," you mention loud enough for him to hear.
He squeezes your hand before continuing to tug you along. "I'm right here," he reassures you.
You bite your lip as the temptation to kiss him becomes evident. Hyunjin stops in front of an orange vehicle, pointing at it with his free hand.
"This is mine," he grins. "Isn't she a beaut?"
"I like the color. It's my favorite actually," you tell him with a laugh, looking over the sports car.
His smile turns into a smirk, and he leans against it. "Oh, yeah? Will that give me an advantage if I ask you out?" Hyunjin asks.
"What?!" Your breath hitches in your throat as you look into his brown eyes.
"Are you surprised?"
You nodded your head, subconsciously bringing a hand to the tip of your ear. "A little bit, yeah. I just didn't expect it," you chuckle nervously.
Hyunjin laughs again as he glances down at your conjoined hands. "You were the one that asked for a date," he mentions with a raised brow.
"I know that, but I didn't think you'd actually want to," you hide your face with your free hand.
He squeezes your hand gently and smiles fondly at you. "You're really pretty, and I would love to get to know you more," Hyunjin says, rubbing the back of your hand with his thumb.
"You're like every girl's dream guy," you laugh, shaking your head as you continue to feel embarrassed.
Hyunjin chuckles, combing his fingers through his hair. "Including you?"
You press your lips together, turning your head to look away from him. "Yeah," you whisper loud enough for him to hear.
He releases your hand, bringing both of his hands to your cheeks. Hyunjin makes you look at him, his dark eyes staring into yours. Your breath hitches in your throat when he leans closer to you.
Your eyes flutter shut as his nose brushes against yours. He lifts your head slightly, leaning in further to kiss you. Before Hyunjin's lips meet yours, your phone rings from inside your pocket.
"Shit," you gasp and abruptly pull away from him. You fish your phone out from your pocket, seeing your father calling. You meet Hyunjin's eyes and hold up a finger. You answer the phone, pressing the device against your ear. "Hey, dad."
"Hi, sweetheart. Did you already leave the office?" He asks kind of erratically.
"Yeah, why? Are you okay?" You question him, turning your back towards Hyunjin.
He doesn't answer you right away, hearing him saying something incoherently to someone else. "Yeah, I'm okay. I was just informed about a race happening, and I wanted to make sure you weren't there," your father mentions, and your eyes widen.
"Yeah, I already left," you lie to him, running a hand through your hair. "You don't need to worry, okay?"
Your father releases a sigh into the phone receiver. "I know. I just don't want you mixed in with that," he mentions. You look back at Hyunjin, seeing his eyes glued to his phone. "We're now boarding the plane. Let's get some food when I get back, okay?"
A chuckle leaves your lips, and you nod your head. "Of course, dad. I'll see you when you get home," you mentioned before the two of you bid each other goodbye.
You turn to face Hyunjin again and he locks his phone, giving you his attention. "Everything okay?" He asks you.
"Yeah, yeah," you breathe out, providing a small smile.
He tilts his head to the side. "Are you sure? You look a little worried," he tells you with furrowed brows.
"My dad," you start, pausing for a quick second, "he doesn't want me around this." You motion to all the street racing cars.
Hyunjin's smile drops from his lips. "Ah, I see. What do you want?" He asks you, taking a step closer to you.
"I want to see you race," you whisper to him, looking up at him through your lashes. "I'd also really like to kiss you."
The smile returns to his lips, and he brings his hand back to your cheek. "You should ride with me," he says while stroking your skin.
"I should?"
He nods his head before connecting your lips with his. Your heart pounds against your chest, bringing your hands to his chest. You kiss him back, gently gripping the shirt he's wearing.
"Hyunjin!" Someone shouts his name, causing the two of you to pull away. Both of you look in the direction of the voice, seeing the guy he was walking with earlier. "Race starts in five!"
"Okay," he tells him with a thumbs up. The man pats Hyunjin on his back, and Hyunjin turns back to face you. "Ready, angel?"
You release a deep breath as others around you start getting into their vehicles. You nod your head in answer. "Ready as I will be."

Beauty Is Only Skin Deep
Pairing: Jefferson x female!reader
Summary: Jefferson's scar leads to both of you feeling insecure, so you show him what you and Grace see in him.
Word count: 1.9k
Warnings: 18+ Minors DNI , nsfw , sex/smut, p in v sex , unprotected sex , body insecurity (scarring)
A/N 1 - This is one of two submissions for @mercurial-chuckles Smutber Fest. Thank you for extending the smut fest & apologies this is a few days late! Bit more fluff than smut 😅
A/N 2 - Prompts - Once again I asked a friend to pick up to five prompts for me... and of course I was given five yet again so two stories it is 🙈 The prompts this time are body worshipping , mirror sex and accidental 'I love you' during sex
A/N 3 - GIF from Google Do not Steal, Copy or Plagiarize any part of my work
You had been cursed before, living in a land for 28 years where time was frozen. Memories of your true self had been suppressed, replaced by new ones of your alternate life. While the curse had been broken, sometimes it felt difficult to tell what was real and what wasn’t. For example, the opulence of the house that you found yourself in. There weren’t homes like this in the Enchanted Forest unless it was one of the Royal Palaces. Or the devilishly handsome man before you. Your gaze roved over him, taking in his immaculate outfit. A grey patterned shirt matched beautifully with trousers of the same shade, the dark blue waistcoat and scarf adorning his neck provided a burst of colour while also highlighting the colour of his eyes. Never had you encountered such beauty in your land but here in Storybrooke it had found you. And the way this man made you feel with his whispers and touches couldn’t possibly be real.
“Hey”. Two warm fingers gently caught your chin and directed you into a hypnotic blue gaze. His brows were dipped in concern. “Are you all right?”
The touch centered you, your spinning mind slowing but still fuzzy. Courtesy of the drinks from the Rabbit Hole bar which tended to be on the strong side. Blushing, you smiled. “Sorry. I’m not always sure where dreams start and reality ends”.
His eyes crinkled as he chuckled indulgently. “I know something about that”. The hand on your chin moved to stroke your cheek. “Would it be bold to ask if you think I’m real? Or a dream?”
The question caught you off guard. You had been seeing Jefferson for a few months. The man was an enigma. But you could not answer him. You desired so much for your dreams to become reality, a reality where he loved you. But you were too afraid to tell him so. So instead of replying you leaned up and kissed him, continuing your original path to his bed before you had become distracted. Jefferson gently lowered you on the quilt, following without breaking the lip lock. One of your hands gently pulled his carefully disheveled hair while the other tugged at the front of his waistcoat.
With a gasp, Jefferson pulled away and began to reach for the illuminated lamp beside the bed. “Wait”. Your hand caught his arm. “Can… can we please leave the light on? I want to see you”.
Jefferson swallowed hard, his eyes suddenly wide with panic. “Why? Why would you want to see me? You know why I turn the light off”. His hand brushed along the scarf that covered most of his neck, hiding the shameful reminder of abandoning his daughter.
“Jefferson, you remove that scarf when we’re alone and the room is dark. But you’ll only become… intimate when I cannot see you”. Part of you understood why Jefferson wanted to hide his scar but another part couldn’t help feeling slightly insecure that he turned off the light to avoid seeing you. “I know how you feel about the scar. I know you never want Grace to know of it or see it. But do you remember what Doctor Hopper said?” You searched his face but he just stared back at you, unmoving. “You can only move on by embracing the consequences of your actions”. Jefferson shook his head in denial, gently removing your hand from his arm. He climbed off the bed and began to pace. “Grace understands what happened, she’s forgiven you-“
“She shouldn’t have. I abandoned her!” Jefferson yanked at his hair, the brown strands becoming unruly in his despair. Regina had cursed Jefferson to remember his true life in the Enchanted Forest while everyone else had alternate memories, including his daughter Grace. He had suffered all those years without her, keeping himself isolated. “Regina was right. If I truly loved Grace, I would have stayed with her. I should never have left!”
“You wanted to give her a better life. There’s not a parent I know who doesn’t want the best life for their child”. A flicker of annoyance rose as you replayed his answer. “Regina? Really, you’re taking the word of a woman who double crossed you multiple times, left you in Wonderland, cursed a whole realm for vengeance against Snow White and lied to her son, causing him to question his own sanity?” You bit your tongue to stop from asking if he was crazy. He wasn’t, but like you sometimes his mind struggled to handle everything he had faced alone. Standing, you moved behind Jefferson and turned him to face the full length mirror standing opposite the bed.
“I want you to see what your daughter sees. The man who played in the Forest, had tea parties with her and took care of her. The one who she knows would fight to keep her safe. Her Papa who loves her so much that he wanted to give her a better life and watched over her for 28 long years. Jefferson… Grace loves you. She loves you and has forgiven you. Now forgive yourself”.
Tears streamed from Jefferson’s eyes. He took a deep shuddering breath before pulling you out from behind him. Tugging your body flush against his, your back to the mirror with your hands resting on his chest. “And what about you?”
His heart pounded under the material of his waistcoat. “I feel a heart that has endured so much pain but loves effortlessly”. Both of your hands cupped his cheeks, thumbs tenderly tracing over his deep blue eyes that darkened as he watched you. “I see beautiful eyes that have witnessed too much and yet continue to shine every day”. Standing on tiptoe, you watched one thumb trace the plump pillows on his face. His jaw dropped with a soft gasp. “I hear laughter from a tortured soul that smiles despite the darkest days”. Your hands began to slowly undo the buttons of his waistcoat. “Please Jefferson… I understand you wanting to hide the scar… but please… let me see you”. Once the waistcoat was undone, you moved to do the same to his shirt. Jefferson shrugged out of both, letting the material fall to the floor. Filled with awe, your fingers reverently began to glide along his torso. He trembled at the caress, his tortured anguish and fear being conquered by love and acceptance, something he’d never dared hope for. Your hands found his belt, deftly unbuckling it and undoing the button of his trousers. A warm vice grip suddenly stopped your progress. Looking up, you saw Jefferson had stopped crying. Audibly gulping, he guided you with shaking hands to undo the scarf. “No, Jefferson”. Your heart lurched as you tried to tug your hands away, but he held them tightly.
“Please”. His blue eyes sparkled with a combination of desire, fear and pain. “Please”. With the joint effort of your hands and his, the scarf was removed. Cautiously you leaned in to allow for Jefferson to stop you or pull away, but he never did. Your lips brushed over the red angry skin, and he whimpered. Worried, you pulled back but he held you tightly against his neck. “Please”. Butterfly kisses ghosted hesitantly along the scar, sounds of praise and adoration spilling from you. Soft whimpers became gasps as his chest heaved, his hands skimming restlessly up and down your back. “No. No more”. For a moment you panicked that you’d pushed too far until you realised his hands tugged desperately at your clothes. “Need you. Need you now” he rambled, sending fabric flying as he grabbed and squeezed your supple flesh.
Almost absently your hands began to wind into his chocolate curls as you caught his face and kissed him, tongues dueling. When you started to pull back Jefferson looked at you with confusion. “I want to see you” you whispered, praying that he could sense the longing in your body. Murmuring sounds of reassurance, you turned in his arms to meet the reflection in the mirror. Carefully you began guiding him to kneel on the thick carpet before leaning forward to rest on your elbows. Glancing up, your breath caught in your throat. Jefferson’s icy blue gaze burned with yearning, his reflection almost ethereal - strong, determined, beautiful. A whimper escaped you when his body heat enveloped you, his body weight almost forming an intimate cocoon, his hard silky flesh between your legs. Grinding against you, he soaked his cock in your arousal. “Jefferson…” He stilled at the sound of your pleading. Carefully, he guided the tip to your entrance and began to push into you. Your gazes never left each other but you struggled to keep your eyes open at the glorious sensation of being filled. Once buried inside you, he began to move with slow deliberate thrusts. Mewling, you met his movements while watching him. The only sounds filling the room were the slaps of flesh meeting and soft noises of pleasure. Jefferson watched in fascination as your body jiggled and bounced at his every thrust. Encouraging you to lean back against him, his eyes widened at the sight of his cock sliding in and out of you. “Beautiful” you murmured, head turning to press a kiss to his scar.
The world shifted as you found yourself empty before Jefferson pushed you flat to the ground and rolled you on your back before entering you again. His rhythm began to increase, his arms holding you tight against him. Mumbling tickled your ear. Jefferson was lost to his mind, but you knew the best thing was to let him come back in his own time. Instead you held him tighter. “It’s good, s’good… feels so good” he babbled, nuzzling into your neck. “Don’t stop… can’t stop… won’t stop”. He shifted slightly, his pelvic bone tapping against your clit. A coil began to build in your belly and you squeezed his length. At your whimper of his name he groaned loudly. “Please… need it. Need you” You wanted so badly to believe he was saying this sincerely, but you knew he was stuck in the depths of his mind. “Ohhh… love this. Love it. Love you”. Your brain froze and your heart stopped as your body shuddered, gently milking him into his orgasm.
Blinking dazedly, his blue eyes cleared and focused on you, worried as he observed your petrified state. When he realised what he had said, instead of denying it as you expected, he blushed slightly. “Not quite the romantic moment I had in mind…”
Blinking, you glanced up shyly at him. “Jefferson, is this real? Do you mean it?”
Head cocked, his dazzling smile restarted your heart. He reached up to the bed and pulled the quilt off, wrapping you both in the luxurious material. “Of course I do. Somewhere in all this madness, I fell for you. You make me feel loved. Wanted. Beautiful” he murmured the last word shyly.
“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder”. Nuzzling into his neck, you pressed a kiss to the scar before pressing kisses all over his face. “Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring”. Jefferson’s eyes shone brightly at your words. “I love you Jefferson. No matter any curses, madness or ridiculousness we may have to face, we’ll do it together”.

You can choose between T/H or X. I like both 🤷🏻♀️😅
But the prompt is “Why do we have to keep hiding? I’m tired of being kept a secret.”
The air is tense in the living room. The two of you are both sitting on the couch but there’s a noticeable gap between you and X. It’s not the first time you’ve had this discussion but it is the first time it’s turned into an argument. One that you’ve barely managed to keep quiet and out of the other members’ notice.
Neither of you speak up. It’s awkward and stifling and you hate it. Your mind keeps going back to the little things. The way you brush them off in front of others, how you keep any meetings a secret between the group. Maybe they all built up inside of X and they’ve finally reached their limit. You should apologize. Say you’ll do better. But the words don’t come out.
You don’t want to admit it, but you’re scared. Scared that bringing your relationship to light will ruin the tentative happiness you’ve found.
“Why do we have to keep hiding?” X breaks you out of your thoughts, their voice is harsh against your ears. You’ve never heard it sound like that before. “I’m tired of being kept a secret.”
“I’m so-”
“Sorry isn’t an answer.” They scooch down the couch and get closer to you. X gently grasps your hand and you can’t bring yourself to pull away. “I just don’t get why we have to hide from everyone. Why can’t we at least tell the group?”
You wonder the same thing yourself. Admitting to Fortune that the two of you have been dating shouldn’t be that big of a deal. In fact, you’re almost positive they would be thrilled to hear the news. But… “What if things change when it’s out in the open? What if the dynamic gets awkward?”
“We won’t know that unless we tell them. There’s no point in wondering about hypotheticals. You know that.” X is almost pleading for you to listen to them. Yet you remain stubborn and silent. Like always, you run when faced with the unknown.
Taking your silence for an answer, X sighs wearily. And for the first time in the many months you’ve known them, they let go first.
Standing up, they don’t even bother facing you. “If this is how things are going to be, then I think it’s best if we took some time apart. To reevaluate how we want our relationship to work.” Your head snaps up in shock. They can’t really be saying that, right? Your X, who's always been patient and supportive? Who's waited for so long to be with you?
“X, wait-” You stand up but stop yourself halfway when they shake their head.
“I’m… going back to my room. Tomorrow we’ll just act like nothing is wrong. And maybe someday, you’ll actually answer my question.” X walks away. Away from you, away from your relationship, you don’t know.
The one thing that you do know is that you still managed to ruin your newfound happiness without changing a thing.

hi! i saw the ask you recently posted regarding the amount and date of asks currently in your queue, and im not sure if i understand the response fully. as you said your queue currently contains asks from early 2020, does this mean that at the moment the average time for an ask to be answered is about 4 years? this is not a complaint or anything of the sort, i understand and appreciate the massive amount of work you put into these answers - im just asking to know whether i should send in a question myself, as i usually dont work on building a character for several years, so i would just be burdening you with yet another ask that would no longer be applicable by the time of an answer. again i apologize if this comes off as rude and i really dont intend to be demanding, i just want to inform myself on how this blog works so i dont add to your workload needlessly. thanks for all the great work you do here!
Hello!
To clarify: The average time for an ask to be answered is NOT four years.
There isn't really an average wait time per ask since it differs so greatly but I'd say it's usually no more than a couple months? Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong though😅
Depending on the ask, it may be answered almost instantly and chucked into the queue or it may sit in our inbox for a while before somebody can get to it. This all depends on a few factors, including:
What's the ask about? If it's something that multiple mods can answer (Such as questions about autism, mobility aids, etc.), then it will likely be answered sooner. On the other hand, an ask about something more specific that fewer mods can answer (Such as progressive vision loss or albinism) will likely take a bit longer.
How detailed is the ask? If it's a question that's more simple and can be answered without as much effort/energy, it will usually make it's way into the queue quicker than a question that's more detailed/specific to the asker's story/characters, which will take a bit longer.
What topics does the ask deal with? Sometimes there are asks with heavier topics that can be more difficult to deal with. In my experience, I find that I have trouble spending too much time on these asks at once and I'll usually draft an answer and then go back to them after a few days.
This is by no means an official 'why your ask hasn't been answered yet' post, just some clarification and a few of my own observations but hopefully it's helpful!
Cheers,
~ Mod Icarus
Editing to add:
A huge part of why there’s such a big backlog is also that, for around a year or more, there was really only one active mod on the blog.
As you can imagine, this blog is kind of a lot for just one person to run. So the backlog built as it was much harder for just one person to do it.
For reference, we now have 10-11 mods, which helps us be able to do more questions.
Hope that helps for some context!

MASTERLIST
A loud knock against your chamber's door caused you to jump slightly. You were seated on the warm fur in front of the fireplace, with another fur draped across your body to shield it from the cold. Due to the unexpected loud noise, were you suddenly wide awake again, after threatening to fall asleep right then and there on the spot. Sleep wasn't a thing that came easily to you these days, so... You quickly rubbed your eyes, in order to get rid of the remaining sleep inside them, before you turned to answer. "You may come in!" The door opened on an instant. A guard stepped inside the royal chambers you shared with your husband, bringing a fresh wave of coldness, which made you shiver even more. Winters on Jotunheim were cruel... "Apologies for my unannounced and sudden intrude, my queen, but I am sent to inform you, that the king has returned." Your face lit immediately up. "The king has returned? My husband is back?" The guard nodded. "Yes, my queen. I shall tell you, he will be his wife as soon as possible." You had to swallow hard, in order to suppress the excited squeal which threatened to leave your lips and to behave yourself; maintaining your position as queen. "Thank you." You said instead. "You may leave now." The guard took a bow and left the room again. As soon as the door fell into its hinges, you allowed yourself to actually squeal in pure happiness.
Loki had been out, on a hunting trip for about a week now. It was the last one of this year, before the harsh winter would descend upon Jotunheim. In those few months, you usually weren't even able to set foot outside, due to the coldness and the raging snowstorms. Therefore, the royal men left for a huge hunt, in order to get a big winter stock. Usually, you always went with him on these hunts, in order to not be separated from him for so long, but this year, you couldn't. Something came in your way - or rather someone... Your gaze drifted over to yours and Loki's spacious bed. On the right - your side of the bed, were standing two beautifully crafted and adorned cribs; made of the best wood in the whole realm. Inside them were sleeping Jotunheim's newest additions to the royal family - princes Áki and Váli Lokison. The twins had been born only two weeks before the hunt - and therefore you had to stay in the palace. Loki wouldn't have let you go with him anyway, even if you wanted. He wanted you to rest and gather your strengths again - and of course to stay with the new-born boys. Not that he would've let you join him, if you had still been pregnant at that time. Oh no. Not a chance. No matter how, it was clear that this year's hunt was a taboo for you.
The past week had been exhausting, to say the least. Taking care of not one, but two new-borns wasn't easy. Not even with the help of a midwife. So, you were more than happy that Loki was back now. Not just because of that, of course. Seven days is a long time, and you really missed him.
Your train of thoughts got interrupted by a soft whine, coming unmistakeable from the left crib beside your bed. Getting up from the warm, soft fur, you made your way over to the boys. Áki was the one awake. He looked up at you with those big, beautiful ruby eyes. The unique marks on his blue-ish skin and the black fuzz on top of his small head left nothing to imagine, who his father was. While Áki resembled Loki a lot - except for the nose, which was definitely yours - looked Váli a lot more like you. Fair skin, Y/E/C eyes and your nose as well, alongside a tuft of blond curls.
"Hello, my little snowflake." You cooed, gently lifting Áki out of his crib. He was wrapped up - just like his still sleeping brother, in a warm, thick fur to keep him from freezing. The baby boy continued to whine softly, little mouth opening and closing, signalling you without a doubt that the tiny prince was hungry. You were able to tell by now, why Váli or Áki were crying. Most of the time at least. Therefore, you placed the fur, which had been wrapped around you aside with your free hand, before loosening your top; freeing the baby's food source - much to Áki's delight. Taking a last look on Váli, to make sure he was alright and still in a deep slumber, you sat down on the small stool in front of the fireplace, with your back towards the heat source - not to expose the new-born to the heat of the open fire. You freed his small arms as well from the warm cocoon he was wrapped in, so that he was able to hold on to you; gripping your pointer finger for dear life.
You were so caught up with Áki, that you didn't notice how the door to your chambers got opened quietly and the king of Jotunheim - your husband stepped inside. You wouldn't have even seen him coming, because you had your back towards the door as well. Usually, Loki announced his presence immediately, but since his sons were born, the Jotun king became much more cautious. He never knew if you or the were asleep - and to wake any of you was the last thing he wanted. Today, Loki was especially happy to set foot back into his and your chambers. Being away from his wife and new-born offspring was excruciating, but he had no choice. As the king, he had to look for his kingdom and follow royal duties, which included the annual winter stock hunt. His eyes wandered around the big main room; from the cribs, to the bed and wardrobe, down to the fireplace - where he spotted you, sitting on the settee. A smile spread on his face on an instant; his heart jumped in pure joy, love and pride. Loki knew exactly what you were doing, as he heard you speaking softly to the baby. On quiet feet, he stepped over to you, getting down on his knees on the soft fur behind you, before he placed his hands on your hips and his chin on your shoulder. You flinched slightly at the sudden contact, but your husband's deep, gravelly voice relaxed you immediately. "Hello, my darling wife." He literally cooed, pressing the front of his body against your back and turning his head to place a lingering kiss on your neck. Warmth and the feeling of pure love shot through your veins, causing you to smile broadly. "Welcome back home, my king." You turned your head as well to somehow connect your lips to his. It was an awkward angle, but the kiss didn't lack an ounce of passion. Quite the opposite...
Being separated was always awful for you and Loki, even if it was just a week. Being separated in this special and beautiful, but also vulnerable state in your life was even worse, even if it was just a week. So it was no wonder that Loki just kept his lips locked to yours for minutes and minutes, kissing you lazily but passionately. Your heart was literally standing aflame with love for him by now; and you realised in those moments how much you had truly missed the father of your children. "I missed you so much, Y/N." "Mhhh, I missed you, too, love." He smiled, and with a last, soft kiss on your now swollen lips, Loki nuzzled your nose with his, before he turned his head to the still eating baby. "And I missed our children." He said, as you felt him shift and move behind you. The king stood up, rounded the fur covered settee and stripped off his armour, until the leathery and furry loincloth was the last thing preventing him from being nude and leaving not much to imagine. You had watched him strip, of course. How could you be able to keep your eyes off your ravishingly handsome husband? You bit your lip as he turned to face you. Deep ruby eyes looking down at you, thin lips curved into a smile. Long, raven locks falling in waves over his bare, broad shoulders. Dark, curly hair was scattered across his chest and was leading in a tempting line from his navel down his pubic region and disappearing underneath the leathery garment. The muscles of his abs flexed gently as he breathed. Thick, muscly thighs lined the outsides of the loincloth. His blue-ish skin, which was covered in beautiful, unique marks and ridges, was literally shining in the dim light of the fireplace. You could feel your mouth watering at how delicious and alluring your husband looked - but this wasn't the time. You were recovering from giving birth to twins and therefore far away from thinking about sex.
"Do you like what you see, darling?" Loki purred, giving you that look. "Of course. Did I ever not like what I saw, when it comes to you, my king?" You flirted back shamelessly, having definitely missed those kinds of conversations. Your husband smirked, running a hand through his luscious curls, before he walked up to you again. "Would you move over, dearest?" Loki guided your movements, so that you were sitting on the edge of the settee on the long end. Your new position allowed Loki to sit behind you; one foot planted on the left side of the settee, the other on the right. He slid closer to you, pressing his chest against your back once again. Although this time, he enveloped you completely with his arms, helping you to steady the still eating Áki. Yes, that child was a little hog. Loki pressed once more a small kiss to your neck, before he settled his eyes on his son, watching him latch onto your exposed breast for a while.
The king smiled at Áki; one hand wandering to cup the infant's tiny hand. "I will never get tired of watching you feed and nurture our children, my love." You smiled, knowing that his words were true. Ever since Áki and Váli were born, Loki loved to watch you breastfeed them. It had something utterly calming and was even some kind of ritual by now. The boys were used to it as well. Especially Váli. You noticed this a lot in the past week... How the little boy was restless and antsy, while you fed him; always looking around for his father. Áki was quite alright with his father not always being present while he ate. "Me neither, Loki, me neither." You enjoyed a few more quiet minutes, watching Áki fall back asleep, until a small cry from your other baby cut through the air. "Someone's awake..." You stated with an audible smile. Loki hummed in agreement and let go of you to stand up and walk over to the cribs. He carefully lifted the crying new-born up into his arms, placing a lingering kiss on his small head, before he started to rock him gently. To feel the presence of his father seemed to calm Váli down again and soon both twin boys were sleeping peacefully in yours and Loki's arms.
Later on, after the princes were back in their cribs, you and your husband enjoyed some much-needed togetherness, seated in front of the fireplace, after having to miss the other's touch for days.
Loki sat on the big fur, casually leaning against a big pile of fluffy pillows, a goblet of the finest Asgardian wine in his hand. You were seated in between his legs, using his upper body as your pillow. Once again had Loki both his arms wrapped around you, keeping you locked against his chest. While you were covered in thick furs and blankets, was Loki still almost bare. No wonder. He was a Jotun and used to the harsh coldness of the winters in Jotunheim - unlike you... A shiver ran down your spine, causing you to cuddle closer to Loki. He noticed immediately. "Are you cold, my love?" You nodded. "Quite a bit, yeah... It's the same every year..." A low, soft chuckle escaped his lips, as he reached for another blanket to cover you and pull you even closer. "I know, my queen, I know - but don't fret. I will make sure to keep you safe and warm." His words melted your heart, warming you from the inside out. You turned your head to give him a loving smile, before indicating him to lean down for a kiss - what Loki did of course. The fire crackled within the fireplace, dipping your chambers in a cosy atmosphere. "How was the hunt?" You asked your husband then, who took a sip of his wine. "Great. Very successful. We have now more than enough food to come through those cold winter months." "That's great - and quite reassuring to know, that we are able to get our folk through the winter." Loki nodded in agreement. After all, it was your duty to look after your kingdom. "Indeed. It's been a hard, demanding week, without a doubt, but now we are prepared. The winter can come." You giggled, shaking your head. "Everyone is prepared now, except me. I hope the winter isn't coming too soon. I'm already freezing my ass off." Loki laughed. "I told you before, my queen... I'm going to make sure to keep you safe and warm, just like our sons - and I'll always will, as long as I am breathing."

Tbh I have seen a lot of takes and analysis over eps 7 and 8 and how it could make sense.
I have a sinking feeling it won't.
! Rant follows below:
The writers wanted it to be a rehearsed play in front of the audience for maximum shock and pain factor and didn't think that it doesn't make sense for lestat to be rehearsing for months and not be strong enough to find a way to stop it.
It all started in s01 when they wanted louis to be the one to cut lestat throat because it was more poetic this way (and considered to be justified since the drop) and didn't care that lestat being completely recovered would mean the plot from the book wouldn't work.
Because the plot from the book did make sense. Lestat was injured, armand wanted revenge on lestat and to get louis to himself and get rid of claudia and the coven and hence the mock trial made perfect sense.
This doesn't. The show has made it clear that while armand may lie and manipulate he mostly goes with the flow otherwise why let louis die? Why then go with louis after everything?
The showrunners have said that they don't consider armand to be the villain behind everything and have backed themselves into a corner with that. Book lovers of armand loved him because he was good at being the villain who wanted to be loved no matter what atrocities he committed ( with the choices the show made this now seems to apply more to lestat which is a far cry from book lestat).
There are things that fans speculated for months on, like the torn pages, which were never picked up.
Same way there was a lot of talk on revisiting murder night and lestats words being different and claudia and louis burning lestat but in the trial the murder night was never contradicted from lestat or claudias diaries.
I think rolin and the writers enjoy the campiness and drama too much and the books moral dilemmas and overall sense of gravitas does not interest them as much and the characters tend to suffer for it.
Apologies for the rant but I'm currently re-reading iwtv and tvl and the nonsensical changes have bothered me again 😅
I think we are both far from done with the trial, and the missing pages.
We are far from done with Armand's motivations - or Lestat's.
This show is a puzzle. And I don't think the writers care too much if we find it hard to find the pieces.
And they sometimes make those pieces hard to find, too. I shared a trial script analysis just earlier - there is a page, an important page, that can only be seen in blend-over, almost hidden by Louis' hand. The assholes (affectionate^^).
Armand isn't the villain either in the last books, though he of course is in the first ones. But this show doesn't do black and white, and I don't think the books do either, not really.
This show doesn't like to give answers, it asks questions, and hides the answers within the shifts of the narrative.
Personally I love that, even though I would have preferred a bit more clarity after season 2, as said before. Still.
I think we're far from done.

Hi! I'm unsure if you do ask for the incorrect verse for the Wukong or not, and if not just disregard this! But I was wondering if you'd do something along the lines of s/o learning Chinese, and they go to say something to them and somehow mess it up xD I apologize if you're not taking quests though, I'm blind for not seeing it 😅
WHAT?!?! I've been telling people that my inbox has been open for months. Thank god you were actually listening I will be more than happy to answer your request Please keep them coming😳😳😳😳🥳🥳🥳🥳
Ok so (Y/N) has been teaching herself Chinese for months from online Classes to books she got from the library. You wanted to surprise your husbands by saying I love you in Chinese I'm sure you can imagine how that worked out😏 but unfortunately when the day came you chocked infront of him and now the surprise is ruined.
(Lmk Wukong): He was shocked to find you were learning Chinese behind his back, and you were trying to say something Meaningful. He's Shookth, but he will start laughing a bit when you messed up on the pronunciation. Don't pay any mind to that part He's more in love with you then ever.
(Nezha Reborn Wukong) Ok he Cringes a bit when you mess up but he's smart enough to know what your Trying to say and therefore he responds back to you in Chinese as well so don't feel to bad He'll teach and help you practice, He also loves you more than ever.
(Mk Reborn Wukong) He's like what the hell is the point of this when you try to say you love him in his language. when he finds that you think you would connect with him better if You literally spoke his language then I guess he'll appreciate it,But just because you Messed up doesn't mean he hates it he'll just lowkey help you practice but Don't tell anyone Also be ready to argue with him in Chinese too🤦♀️.
(Hero is back wukong) He Calmly correct you on the pronunciation of what you're saying. Then he tells you that he loves you back. He finds it intriguing that you seem to want to learn And communicate with him and that might make him feel special. So congrats he loves the surprise🥰🥰🥰.
(Netflix Wukong) he's totally gonna laugh. Just imagine somebody trying to talk to you in your butchered native Language it's gonna be a bit funny but also mildly offensive but he's not gonna think so. It's sweet how you want to talk to him In his language and there's just something special about that. So he loves how you want to communicate with him in his language And it might be useful if he wants to gossip about the people around him with you.
So rather they wanna admitted or not they love the idea and also love you🥰🥰🥰
Feel Free to Reblog 😇👍

Hey CJ! Sorry to hear that you're not having the best day :( I hope it gets better! Or the very least, please do take care of yourself and maybe treat yourself to something nice for all your hardwork!💖
I've got a fun lil F,M,K scenario for you😊Who would you F,M,K? Grimmjow, Kenpachi and Obito?
AND Obito, Hidan, Toji? ^-^
And I've got some random lil questions to ask!
- Do you bake? If so, what are your favorite things to make? If not, what are your favorite baked goods?
- if you could choose to be in any anime verse, which one would you choose and why?
- What's a favorite dish you like from your culture?
- if you had all the money in the world, what would be the first big purchase you would make?
- what is your favorite holiday? Mine is Halloween!
- a random fact about literally anything?
I heard that you're taking requests for some angst! Can I request some headcanons or drabble about kakuzu or Hidan comforting you when you're crying? Or how would the akatsuki be after they broke up with their partner? Or how would they try and get back with their s/o after a breakup? This request was inspired by the JJK post you reblogged ngl😅😅
I'm sorry that this ask became long😅😅 but I hope your day gets better!! Hang in there!!💗💗💗
hiiii bbys! Thanks to everyone who sent in kind words. I’m doing better! <3 so let’s get into it🫵🏻
•
I PHYSICALLY cannot answer those f,m,k. It pains me too much🤣 I love them all equally and there’s no way hahah
•
I hate cooking, I have horrendous anxiety being in the kitchen if I’m making something more complicated than ramen or pasta. But in regards too my favorite baked goods, definitely cream puffs! Or fruit tarts. My go to’s Everytime! Gonna buy myself a fruit tart for my birthday next month🥺
Bleach and Naruto. The aesthetic itself are just pleasing and they have so many complex characters, and the views are gorgeous lol. I could go on but it’d be too much
So, I’m part Jamaican on my mums side and part Panamanian on my fathers. I only recently reconnected with him so I have yet to try anything. Now, in regards to my favorite meal, nothing beats my mums homemade curry.
I have no idea lmfao. I’m not one to want a huge fancy house or all these fancy cars. I’d rather just pay off my bills and quit my job. Play it day by day tbh
HALLOWEEN! Every year I go to universal Orlando for HHN. I’m always back before Halloween and I dress up and do my makeup to do haunts in our yard lol. That and scary movies every day of the month and just ugh🏻best holiday
For my random fact, I’ll tell you something about myself. I’m 4’10. And I love platform shoes. I own some boots and platform sandals. I hope to expand my collection!

I personally think every member of the akatsuki would distance themselves for starters but they’d creep back into your life slowly, but differently so let’s get intoooooo it!🫵🏻
18+, mentions of stalking, makeup sex, coercion ideations, possessive behavior and akatsuki member being mean to reader but apologizing, pervy tobi
Slight au, mentions of cellphones, phone calls, texts, etc
Hidan:
-totally gonna be the one to put as much distance between you and him. Especially when he knows he was the one to fuck things up
-but he somehow always knows where you are, who you’re with, and what you’re doing
-if he hears you’re hanging out with another guy, no matter how much time has passed since the split, just know you’ll receive some drunk texts from him. Maybe him even showing up to your place
-he’d be mean at first, talking about how nobody could treat you better than him, or fuck you better than him
-would somehow end up on top of you, showing you how much he missed you by stuffing your cunt
-if you ever want to see him cry, just know this is how. He’d be whispering such filth into your ear, burying his face in your neck to hide his tears and hopefully stifle the way his voice cracks when he admits he’s sorry and how he can’t go on without you
Kakuzu:
-he’d be the silent ex. Would only pay attention if someone brings you up in conversation, mentioning what you’re doing or how you’ve been
-Kakuzu would check in on you every once in a while. He’s a grumpy old man who’s soft spot was for you and you only
-if he realized or you told him you’re not doing okay. He be over to your place within the hour to comfort you.
-if it ends with you two back together, he’d be the happiest man alive. Yet he wouldn’t voice it. Ever
-would send you money to spoil yourself, he’d always tell you it’s not to win you back but deep down he hopes it would change your mind. Isn’t the type to beg for you to come back. He wants you to come back to him only if YOU want too
Konan:
-such a sweetheart, she’d give you anything you want. If you tell her you two can stay friends, she’d be the best friend a person could ever ask for
-if you tell her you want space, she’s more than happy to give you as much space as you need
-if you tell her to fuck off and never speak to her again, as painful as that would be for her. She’d do it. She just wants you to be happy, even if that means without her
-is always super kind and respectful if you two run into each other in the village but wouldn’t go seeking you out without reason
-just like Hidan, always knows what you’ve been up too. Not because she’s following your every move, but sticks close by in case something happens to you (she hears updates from your friends because they adored her. Thought she was the best gf you’ve ever had)
Pain:
-I believe he’s similar to Kakuzu. Pain would distance himself for his own sanity. Knowing you’re off being happy without him, kills him
-only speaks to you if you reach out to him first. Wouldn’t even ask how you’re doing if you didn’t say something to him beforehand
-misses you dearly, but knows space is the best option for the two of you
-wouldn’t hesitate to make your new bf ‘disappear’ when he hears you’re seeing someone new. Hoping that you’ll eventually come running back to him if your new partners keep ghosting you suddenly
Itachi:
-is super respectful, as much as he’s hurting inside, the break up would never turn sour
-no fighting, screaming, or hurtful words. Gives you a kind smile every time he runs into you in the village. A hug or a shoulder/head pat only if you’re comfortable
-would remain your friend afterwards. Being very respectful towards your new partners if you start seeing anyone. Doesn’t go out of his way to be rude or cruel to either of you
-doesn’t hesitate to give you a shoulder to cry on if you need someone to talk too. Even if you’re venting about your new man
-makes sure you always have everything you may need or want and that you can always rely on him if something goes wrong
Kisame:
-gets over the split relatively quick. Is content to stay your friend, but if you decide to distance yourself completely. He’s fine with that as well
-it would take him a long time to delete pics and videos of the two of you just because you were the best thing to come into his life.
-when the time comes that he decides to delete everything out of his phone, he’ll keep a picture or two just for comfort
-looking at it when he has a bad day or to remind him that there’s still good in the world.
-would be nice to your new partner when introduced but would knit pick everything about him. Knowing that no one will treat you like he did
Deidara:
-you were his first real relationship and would be devastated about it. Dei would give you all the space in the world after the break up but the second you reach out to him, he wouldn’t hesitate to slowly make his way back into your life
-he would ask to hang out with you on the days you were free,
-would make up random excuses or reasons for popping by your place even if he had no reason to be in the village in the first place
-would leave you clay gifts on your windowsill once in a while, especially since you loved his art so much
-would leave sweet notes as well. Something like “miss you” or “have a good day” etc
Sasori:
-I feel like he wouldn’t truly register it at the beginning.
-would kinda just shrug shit off. Wouldn’t pay much mind to you for a while, weeks, maybe a few months afterwards
-he’s not rude, or nice, he’s neutral about things. He’d reminisce about the times you shared but it wouldn’t make him sad or depressed
- if you reached out, calling or texting him, he’d reply. Out of respect mostly. Sasori would ask how you’re doing and would be glad to know you’re doing good
Tobi:
-he’d be devastated. Come on, like look at him
-would distance himself from his comrades outside of missions, he’d put on a brave front in front of them when it came to work but if he’s alone. He’s breaking
-once he’s gotten the crying out of his system he would not hesitate to keep tabs on your every move.
-he may or may not even cause something just so you have an excuse to come running to him. Knowing he’d be the one to fix things and make things right
-would be subtle about his obsession with you. Would run into you in town on more than one occasion, using the same old excuse of “didn’t think I’d run into you here”
-keeps all the nudes and videos you sent him, using those to make himself cum. Or better yet, the home movies you two made
-he knows it’s wrong, but that’s not going to stop him. Bites down on his bottom lip to keep himself quiet as he strokes his length, listening to the way you’d sound as you took him to the hilt
-totally wouldn’t sneak into your place while you’re out to steal a pair of your panties, or a shirt of yours just to have your scent.
Zetsu:
-is more like Sasori tbh. At the start that is. Especially black Zetsu
-I think at the beginning it wouldn’t affect him much and if it did, it’s mostly white Zetsu. He’d let out a few tears, asking where and why you’ve run off. Leaving him behind
-while black Zetsu’s mean about it. Talking about how you’re a no good person to just up and leave him(he may or may not be delusional)
-he’s stalking you. Full blown
-even if he’s off on his own missions, he’d track you down and watch you for a while before going off. Acting as if nothing happened.
-would not speak to you which as weird as it sounds I feel is on par with him. Would maybe send a single text back if you messaged him but apart from that it’s as if he’s vanished completely. To you that is, you don’t know that he’s been inside your house, touching your belongings or following at a distance as you go on a date with to your new bae
-only to find a text from an unknown number of you and your bf at the cafe in town. It’s his way of showing you, you can’t fully get rid of him
•
I hope you loved this. Now I want some requests of crying Hidan x reader, perv tobi and stalker zetsu. Didn’t realize how hot those are lol
