Updated altar(s) with some fresh offerings for everyone ^^ they got essential oils that reminded me of them (Aphrodite has wildflower scents, Hestia has a HEARTH FIRE scent -the whole reason I got the essential oil pack- and Apollon has sweet orange scent)! Apollon also got orange juice and some chocolate that I will be eating later:3 and a new candle! Hestia's is new too, I work with her mainly and so her candles are lit the most often. I add something personal to all my store-bought candles, so for example Lady Aphrodite has rose petals and Lord Apollon has some extra orange wax. Not sure what to put in Lady Hestia's yet, but I'm thinking some cinnamon would look cute^^
They also have their tarot cards though a little hidden under all the other stuff, and my jewelry. While searching for something to put on Aphrodite's altar I found a 10 Karat golden bracelet??? Noone in the family knew we even had anything of that value but I'm taking this find as a good sign haha:D
Apollon has been sending me a shitton of crows (we don't see them often here, so to come across at least like 120+ crows in one car ride was very unexpected and, probably a sign as I've been neglecting his and Lady Aphrodite's altars.) so he got a little more than the others today, as an apology for the lack of attention he's been getting from me. What else hmmm... I cleaned and reorganized my pet mouse, Trinket's enclosure as a devotional act to him as I've heard he's associated with mice a lot. Idk man life's been good, I found out through some readings from others that I've been hexed but Hestia protected me from most of it, I started a new sport that I finally enjoy and I clean my space much more often since I started worshipping the gods. Yay.

This is my Apollo Altar. ☀️
What I have so far- citrine, goldstone, clear quartz, a lamp to symbolise the sun, an orange and yellow friendship bracelet and an origami box with flowers on.
What I want to get- a candle, imagery of dolfins swans crows slimes and snakes, a musical instrument, more art and poetry, more gems / crystals that remind me of him
(I’m a beginner with altar spaces, I know it’s small but I’m working on it)

Latest picture of my altar(s). I didn't know what to offer so I just picked LPS figures from my collection that reminded me of each deity. From left to right, Aphrodite Hestia Apollon

Finally re-did my altar!
As the god of Philosophy and Knowledge, Apollo has become my patron deity because he rules over my career and therefore I made a pact with him to work together.
Wanted to share to hopefully start an altar sharing train! Please send me pictures of your altars or whatever space you have for the gods! I wanna see them!
Sidenote: I bought him little crochet flowers!

I’ve been adding to my altars the past couple of days, now that I’m home from holiday traveling. I’ve been feeling a bit disconnected from my practice because of said traveling and just general end of the semester bullshit, and my way of dealing with feeling distant usually involves gifts lol. I added a few things to my Aphrodite, Apollo/Artemis, Athena, and healing altars, in addition to giving food offerings, which has helped me to start feeling more grounded 💕

Devotional Acts I do for Apollo
(as someone who practices in secret)
- take my medicine (I have a bad habit of forgetting)
- taking at least 5-10 minutes to meditate out in the sun in the morning.
- attempting to take time everyday to admire the sunset.
- do a creative activity at least once a day
- letting the sun shine through my window
- light his candles when I can
- make jewelry
- make sun water
- organize his altar
- eat oranges & bury the peels (usually they are offerings)
- drink lemon water
- listen to his hymns
- listen to music when I can
- wearing his sun + citrine keychain offering
- wearing his devoted bracelet
- admiring Artemis and her beauty
- taking walks
- eating healthier
- researching clairvoyance (other similar things as well)
- taking photos of the sunset
- learning other forms of divination

Nothing will ever prepare a Hellenistic teen to hide her pictures of Aphrodite and Apollo when her mom checks if her room is clean.

Altar in a Box Part 1: Apollôn
Welcome to my Altar in a Box mini series! The first Altar in a Box that I made, and the first one I am sharing with you all, is my Altar for Apollôn.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here is what the altar looks like when you open it up. Here you can see the items inside, as well as the hanging Hamsas. The inscription reads "γνῶθι σεαυτόν" accompanied by the English pronunciation "gnothi sauton" - which means "know thyself". The plants on either side are meant to represent laurels; while they are not laurels they are real plants that I pressed and adhered to the box!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next we have the items inside. From left to right we have salt, a potion bottle, a small container for matches, a pewter cauldron and scroll, a miniature altar - atop which rests a crystal ball inside a silver holder, and three oils; frankincense, lavender, and patchouli.
The potion appears plain at first, as when it sits untouched the ingredients fall to the bottom, however once you shake it up it's more magical properties appear.
Tumblr media
Lastly: The inside of the box is "carpeted" (lined with an old curtain), and on the outer rim of the box I have adhered a match-light strip for my matches.
Tumblr media
Also I forgot to add this in earlier but I have since added a plain white tealight to the Altar Box as well.
My next Altar in a Box post will show you all my Altar in a Box for Aphroditê

New altars and shrine set up in the new place I just moved 🙂 First is my main altar (top level is for Ouranic deities and bottom level is for Khthonic deities), second is a shrine to my personal patron deities (Zeus, Apollon, Hekate, and Artemis), and third is my hero altar to Achilles, Patroclus, and Herakles.
