Just after friends and family night, Sydney got overwhelmed. She felt like she needed to bolt. She told her dad. He suggested she take a small trip. To where her mom's family was from He'd fund it. She agreed

She called Richie to tell him, she'd be gone for a week. She couldn't talk to Carmy.

Richie asked if he could come with. He had a little saved up.

She agreed.

Richie Jerimovich can kinda make you squirm in a good way if you look long and hard.

Here are some times he might have been able to 'take you there '

2. Awkward because they're feeling SOMETHING, but dunno what it is and scared to find out, hot

the first 7 chapters of my sydrichie fic are up on ao3! this is the first fic i've written in a long long time and my first time posting one since the fanfic dot net days. this is a slow burn, so im not sure how long its going to be exactly but i'm having fun

tysm for such a sweet message 🫶🏼 at the moment I am desperately trying to be a better-behaved academic & get my next thesis chapter written so am avoiding fic-related musings for a bit; saying that my sydrichie fic will hopefully (finally!!) come out some time toward the end of this month, lol. as for a schedule, no not really, it’s whatever & whenever takes my fancy; usually writing, editing, posting the thing in one sitting & then fading back into fugue. ✨ x

Ok just this THIRD (or fourth time).

Here's the thing. It's strictly Sydcarmy all up in here with hundreds of posts with them.

But I've been reading AO3 a lot and the Richie stories are sooooo good.

It makes me look at Richie in a way that's

1. Totally different than how I used to see him. I used to be so annoyed and irritated and grossed out by the thought of him

2. Kinda making me question how I evaluate hotness now

Because all of a sudden I can picture all those scenarios of him (inflagrante), during assignations with Syd (sydrichie)

Because what is this?????

And the descriptions of his body which lead to descriptions of certain body parts...

And how he talks (and moves) DURING it

Ok.

AFTER THE KNIFE/REVIEW: SYDNEY AND RICHIE

After Richie got stabbed and Sydney came back, I really wondered what he was thinking or feeling about the situation with Sydney

I don't think he was scared of her at all.

I think he was a little wary

HOWEVER based on this scene where she was trying to get by him.

I FELT SOMETHING

I could be wrong but I felt that HE may have felt bad that his behaviour was sooo gross that someone/Sydney was aggravated enough to WANT to stab him (even though it was an accident)

Carmy had said he probably deserved it and Richie agreed.

I do think that Richie does a fair amount of introspection. We know he sees Sydney as a kid, so he might also be feeling bad because he was overly aggressive toward a girl/a kid? Or he keeps telling himself she's a kid so he doesn't think womanly thoughts about her

It's probably just me but I got a little affection growing from his side in this scene.

I thought he secretly admired her and hates to think she might hate him. All his baiting of her might be the only way he thinks he can communicate with her without her figuring out that he may not be as smart as her

Or at least he'd inwardly called a truce. Sydney seemed like she was just trying to get away

FYI HE could have moved out of her way first because he's going in the direction she just came from.

But he just stood there.

Maybe he wanted to talk

SYDNEY AND RICHIE ENJOYING EACH OTHER

While Carmy was in California, Richie had to fill in with Syd on a couple of interviews about the workings of The Bear.

There was video which Carmy watched but the social media posts gave him pause.

He had to tilt his head as he watched the pictures on his phone

He was still really surprised at how close Sydney and Richie seemed to be

Richie's folded arms did nothing to hide the obvious connection between them, or Richie's obvious admiration for Sydney

Neither did Syd's

It didn't even seem one sided

The way Sydney looked at Richie

The way Richie looked at her

The way Richie looked away as if to steady himself

They seemed to crack each other up too

Then he remembered Richie's album, when he'd gone over to Richie's place one night

CARMY didn't want to know what, if anything was happening between them. He didn't know what to do about it.
