I draw with my fingers so this took a lot and it ended up nor being so much as i liked to, but i honestly just did this for fun and i (obviously) haven't planned a script for it yet

anyways, if anyone got interested i'll accept any ideas for an ACTUAL comic lol

Went insane w the compulsion to illustrate (inasfar as it is ‘illustration’ when you very visibly leave the sketch in… semantics?) from The Last Will and Testament of Cazador Szarr by @abigailmoment bcos it gave me brainworms so intense i momentarily became capable of picking up a pen recreationally. Gale’s robe is heavily referenced from this piece by jazzyjellojojo, whose rendition of the unfortunate reluctant vampire lord gale is inimitable and amazing!

i've always dealt with poor body image and this summer it seemed to have peaked somehow. being out of the house from 7am to 6pm every day for work meant i couldn't bind, or at least dealing with binding would be a hassle every day. my body dysmorphia is connected to my binding (more specifically, how i feel about my chest) (it's also linked to my perception of gender), but it isn't life ruining or anything. i'm ok with not binding, it's just more comfortable for me. anyway, i begrudgingly accepted that i'd have to wear a bra every day just to make my life easier

and during this time my dysmorphia skyrocketed big time without me even realizing it. i just felt really fucking shitty about my body every day. and that's generally kind of a constant LOL so i normally don't think too much of it, but this .. oh this was BAD. there would be times where i'd go to work, pass glass buildings on the way and utterly despise how my reflection looked

only when i had a week to myself did i realize: oh shit. binding is kinda saving my mental health right now, isn't it

i've been fortunate enough my whole college career where i could bind whenever i wanted and only needed to wear a bra in certain situations. most of the time i had the luxury to calculate how long i'd be out of of my living space, so i can determine whether or not i could bind comfortably. so being stripped of that choice really sucks!!! especially if binding is the only method u have atm of feeling like urself in ur own skin!!!!!

On the lighthearted side of things: I think An tries flirting with Haruka at some point but realizes that it's just too similar to the playful banter that they've always done so it just flies completely over Haruka's head. They've been holding hands since they were little, of course Haruka doesn't think anything of it when An does it now.

On the more angsty side of things: I often think about An seeing Haruka's initial rise to fame from afar and being increasingly worried about the worse parts of the idol industry. It chews up the person she knew and spits out something manufactured and Not Right; someone constantly aware of what she's wearing, what she's eating, what she's doing in public, all to maintain that idol image. Haruka her best friend and Kiritani Haruka the Idol are almost different people and it scares her a little. MMJ being such a source of positivity was a massive relief.
